Atrocious service. I saw all the bad reviews but I guess I had to go see it for myself. Manicure and pedicure were fine, good job actually and it was fast. They will sell you hard and get angry if you don’t upgrade your package. Disorganized and unprofessional, and loud. Had to wait 30 mins even though I made an appointment (they don’t check their online reservation system). Asked me a lot of personal questions like where I lived and worked, what languages I spoke, though it was clear I wasn’t interested in talking to them. They offered me a bottle of lotion at the end as an apology for the terrible service, or as they called it, “miscommunication.” Kept on asking if I planned on returning to the salon.

Very sketchy. I called ahead of time and clearly asked if they do hard gel UV nails. The woman over the phone said yes and mentioned a decent price. When I go there, she told me that they didn’t do UV gel after she took off the layer that was on my nails and proceeded to do some sort of powder dip. My nails were done horribly and thinned out and then she said gel color was an extra $30, and proceeded to try to paint them with regular nail polish. I couldn’t bare to continue end told her to just stop, she gave me some of my cash back but I still lost $45 for messing up my nails. Went to another nail salon to fix it and that cost me an additional $120. Never going back again. This was also before vaccines were available to most people in nyc, and they were letting individuals in with no mask, months before the no mask mandate. Very unprofessional, not clean and unreliable.

This is the worst place to get your nails done. The staff is so rude and keeps changing the price. I went with my 13 year old sister, and she kept forcing her to get gel nails. When I said no, she told my sister I was being cheap. Out loud. And when I explained she is too young for gel she rolled her eyes at me.At the end she demanded I tip her more than 3$ For a regular manicure,And started screaming in her language. Terrible place. Really needs new staff with a better attitude

I recommend this nail and spa. They are very good services and very good prices. They spa was so perfect services! And staff was very kind also they are clean and sanitizer.

I’m doing my nails here today, I feel that they did it very carefully and made my nails look very beautiful.

I had a lovely experience over there. Everyone was very nice. I came for regular pedicure and ended up having a lemon spa - did not regret it. My technician did a great quality work and she seem to really care what she was doing. I will return, thank you for that little spa getaway!

Walked by, saw the cheap mani /pedi combo for less than $30. Upgraded for a 10 min foot massage. The service and facilities are typical of an upstairs Manhattan nail salon.... I smudged a nail after leaving, turned right around and they fixed it for free. Nice ladies.

Friendly staff, quality product. They do gel, acrylic, and SNS. A little pricy but probably what’s expected for this area.

I would rate negative if I could. WORST experience of my life. Lady was absolutely rude. Snatching money out of my hand saying she deserves a tip when she hadn’t even done the job yet. She kept smacking my arm and legs and then rolling her eyes at me (because I was making her work for her tip). She asked me 1 or 2 questions the whole time and then turned around and talked a different language to the other workers and ignored me. Ended up paying $115 just to get my cuticles cut back and gel paint, no extra treatment, no massage a half a leg wax (that I’ve had to go and buy a shaver anyway because they missed most of it)... AND no smile. Not happy with the experience nor the terrible nail job.Would 100% NOT recommend this isn’t even all the negatives, I’d be writing a novel if I did.Got laughed at and door slammed behind me on the way out.Save your money.

Horrible experience! After coming here for years and paying top dollar for their services the owner or manager not sure threw the CC at me because I was complaining about a $10 charge to fix the paint in 3 nails after my gel manicure barely lasted a week. This was the second time that this happened and I didnt complaint the first time before but I though it was excessive to charge $10 when the gel manicure is already $35 and they advertise it last 2 weeks. I was explaining was happened and the owner got very upset and was very rude to the point she threw the CC at me. I asked her to pick it up and give it to me in my hand and she basically kicked me out of the salon in front of all the customers there! I could not believe someone can be so rude and unprofessional. I was about to call the police for harassment. Her behavior was beyond aggressive. BE AWARE!!!!!!!

When I’m looking to have my nails perfect while on a time constraint (I don’t like spending hours on end at the salon), Red Ruby Nails Spa is my go-to!They often opt to have two people work at once so my manicure and pedicure can be finished on/around the same time. The salon is small but I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes for service.Quick summary: if you value speed & efficiency over ambience — albeit, the salon is super clean — this spot is the move.Also, pro tip: cash = small discount, I assume since the salon doesn’t have to pay for credit card fees(?)

$34 for these gel nails. I got them done at 2:15pm. It isNow 5:50pm. I expressed concern that the polish was too thin. She ignored. Pressured my friend and I to tip over 10 times within 30 minutes. My nails chipped within 10 minutes. I’m super bummed and disappointed because I knew this would happen after she put 4 coats of polish on my nails and it still looked uneven. Will not be returning. Super aggressive staff.

Everyone here is very friendly and enthusiastic. I have been here several times. They always help me choose the gel color that looks the best for me. Christmas is coming soon. I love the Christmas atmosphere today. I will continue to patronize here,

Definitely not worth the price. Walked in as an emergency because I desperately needed a pedi as I was going out after work and its close to my job. Expecting a full pedicure - all I got was a foot soak, polish change and came out $52 lighter in the wallet. They didnt cut my cuticles as they should have nor did they pumice my feet properly. Then preceeded to ask if I wanted a foot massage it would be an extra $10. The salon is super tiny and congested. Will not be returning.

So far so good, second time here. I got the color powder gel, I usually come here on my lunch break. They are so quick and good the way the nails come out. I’ve had the same lady on my second visit, forgot her name. She sits by the window usually. My new go to spot, especially since it’s conveniently close to my job.

I only go to Red Ruby Nails for Tina! Tina is the absolute best, she truly cares and is SUPER efficient at getting the job done, especially when I’m in a rush! With Tina, I always leave the salon with BEAUTIFUL nails. I highly recommend Tina at Red Ruby salon.❤️❤️❤️

Do not go here. Textbook scam. They quoted me at $46 for a French gel manicure. They removed my existing manicure and told me that, for what I wanted, it would be better to go with dip powder for $55 since they charge a flat rate. They ended up charging me $70. I couldnt leave since my nails were already ruined. The entire experience took 2 hours and I legitimately don’t even like the manicure.

My wife and I stopped here after walking around the city all day for a pedicure. Great service and very friendly. Will definitely be back.

This place is a joke. I get my nails done every 2 weeks and am very familiar with gel tips and polish and how to treat them. (I did NOT get my gel tips done here I got them where I normally go and have never had an issue with chipping). Within ONE DAY my entire nail color chipped/peeled off my thumb and ONE WEEK later I am now having the same issues with 2 other nails. I also got a gel pedicure and those are chipping as well. I went here because of convenience despite what another nail salon next door warned me about (didn’t go there because they were booked). Now I know - don’t waste your time or money here there are plenty of other places in Manhattan to go.

If can please Do not waste your time here, when I first walked in I told one of the girls that I wanted a full set, They then proceeded to argue about who was going to do my nails. Then I showed them a marble design and they couldn’t do that, messed up on multiple nails & had to remove them because some of them were crooked which kept me there for over an hour, And kept trying to tell me how to get my nails. Then bothered my husband the whole 2 hrs we were there about getting a massage after he repeatedly said no. & rolled their eyes after telling them how I want my nails.

I came here to go shopping, just go through here and try it. The feeling here is very clean and comfortable. The people inside are very friendly. I made a set meal, pedicure and gel manicure, and there are so many colors. I will come again.,

From reading the older reviews, I feel as though this place must be under new management.I just got the best gel manicure Ive ever had from Isla - she was detail oriented, friendly and the overall experience was great. I would recommend.

Went in for a mani pedi, was charged $11 extra for callus removal. My “pedicure” consisted of the callus removal putting my feet in the water for one minute and then painting my toenails it lasted under 10 minutes. No pedicure was involved. My friend got a gel manicure and you can see parts of her nails through the polish and it chipped immediately. She tried to ask them to do thicker coats and they told her it was higher quality and done different (opi gel which all salons use). They insisted and demanded tips upwards of 10 times and accused me of not paying after I did. Bad experience.

Went today for a pedicure and got the worst treatment I have ever had. The tech could not be bothered to roll up my pants nor help medown from the chair. The way she was handling my foot I wanted to kick her!The place was not crowded but I got a rush job and needed to tell her to clean the polish off my toes. Very rude so my tip reflected it. Never again!

Worst salon experience ever! The woman who did my nails was horrible. I had new tips put on and she didnt bother to ask what shape I wanted. She also seemed uninterested in my comfort and seemed to get annoyed when my arm wouldnt twist any further. The quality of the work is poor and the shop is expensive. Although their pricing board says $55 for a set up tips, I was handed a bill for $68. I looked to see boards and brushes soaking in soap and couldnt find any. Im not sure what steps this place uses to sanitize their equipment because I couldnt see any even though I was looking. Ive had much better nails from places that charge 1/2 of what this place charges. Do yourself a favor and skip this joint.

I felt so discriminated when I went here. I asked for a Nail refill and gel polish and in Manhattan they no longer due that. She then said she couldn’t remove my nails. The worst customer service and when I called someone said they could accommodate me.

I was going to hold off writing a review about the staph infection they gave me on 2 fingers due to using improperly sanitized tools, but then I just saw they fraudulently swiped my card over a month after I went in a duplicative amount. Avoid at all costs.

This nail salon must be under completely different management now-- I cannot relate at all to the negative reviews they has received on here.I was lucky enough to stumble upon Red Ruby and will never look back- their service is impeccable and their prices are reasonable for the area (the card that allows you to get a free manicure after 10 adds to this, and they have a deal on 4 mani/pedis at a $50 discount as well). I have had the good fortune to be served by Tina, Cece, and Isla. They have all been very friendly, attentive, thorough, efficient, and talented! I even came in last week with nails ripped halfway off and Isla was able to give me a flawless powder dip French that allowed me to keep my nails, and when one later cracked while opening something, I came in and she fixed it for free.I cannot say enough good things. Please pay them a visit!

Not going back here again...everI took an early lunch from work at 11:30 to avoid the crowd and even that didnt work. I waited 20 minutes (even though they said 10) and was finally sat. The place was packed. I came in for a gel manicure (I only ever use OPI) and currently had OPI gel on my nails from my home place Ive been going to for years. This place DOES NOT HAVE THE TOOLS REQUIRED FOR A NAIL SALON. Keep in my mind, they do not do acrylics or any sort of tips.It took a half hour for the girl to get my gel polish off - they were clearly using the incorrect polish remover. I sat there for a HALF HOUR just waiting for the polish to soften to have it removed. It was incredibly painful. I told her that I didnt have time to get the gel manicure anymore because I had to go back to work and to just clean my nails up. Honestly, that hold ordeal shouldnt have cost me more than 5-8 bucks but it came out to 12 plus tip. I could have gotten a full manicure for that price. Unreal.

First visit, when you go up the stairs do not go into the massage parlor like I did!Sketch City.... not sure what goes on in there, turn around and youll see the door to the nail place. Decent polish selection, limited gel options. Extremely warm and friendly Tibetan staff. If I ever have time, I accept the 5 minute back massage or leg massage. The salon may look run down, they are clean and efficient. Gets me out in one hour both mani/pedi.Wish the place was bigger, feels really crammed in.

Cheap work, expensive prices. They care more about quantity than quality. The tech did my pedicure in less than 30 min. Was pushing expensive and unnecessary services. Didnt scrub my feet (wanted extra $10 for callus removal, which is usually included). My feet look like I didnt even get a pedicure. Very disappointed and will never go back.

The woman at the entrance was a little crabby, but other than that, I was happy with my service here until the end. I came in around 3pm on a Friday, so it wasnt very crowded. I was immediately seated for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. Toward the end of my gel manicure, more people started coming in (I guess to get services after work, before the weekend). The lady doing my manicure started rushing, at one point putting both my hands into the UV dryer at once, smudging on of my nails that wasnt dry. She then attempted to fix it by partially rubbing off the gel polish and painting over it in one thin coat. Needless to say, the gel flaked off almost immediately after I left (even as I was paying, I saw the coat was uneven and had bubbles of air underneath). Two days later, it looks terrible--pieces of polish fall off constantly. Im going back today to ask them to fix it. Will report back on how they respond.tl;dr: they dont handle being busy very well, compromising quality. Come at an off-time if possible. My pedicure was very well-done because the woman doing it wasnt trying to rush me out the door.

I needed a lip wax badly so I walked into this place near my work. She did a careless job and dripped wax into my hair right after I got it done. When I realized they dropped wax in my hair and I called back they were rude over the phone and didnt accommodate me. I dont suggest going here.

You pay for horrible service and bad attitudes. You can even tell they are being disgusting towards you while speaking amongst themselves in their native language.
