My friend and I walked in and were seated within 20 minutes. It has been a little while since I got my nails done but I’m happy we stopped. I’m obsessed with my nails. She put a lot of attention and care into each nail and it seemed like she really took pride in her work. I’d bring cash to pay just so you don’t have to pay the atm fee and you can save on tax.
Always wanted to try this place and finally went when I saw that they were non toxic and used organic products. The manicure pedicure took less than an hour combined (with dry time) because of how quickly the technician did everything. Everything felt rushed and low quality. The shaping of the nails was good and she did a good job of polishing. The thing that was most frustrating to me is that when I was done drying I noticed there were bubbles all throughout the manicure. When I told the man at the counter he said, so are you going to pay now or pay later? I was confused by this. I said I’d pay now and then after I paid he went to put more top coat on top to “fix” it. The whole experience felt like I overpaid for really low quality. I dont plan to return.
I don’t usually leave reviews but the male technician here filed down the tops of my nails so much that they’re thin like knives and I keep cutting myself and getting caught in things. I’m not even sure how to fix this or if I have to wait for my nail to grow out fully. Also he cut my cuticles until they were bleeding and they are still stinging 8 hours later. The other technicians might be fine but avoid the guy.
They were all so great and kind! I got a gel pedicure and it was very well done and precise, definitely will be back!
I went here before and the shellac nail polish was ok. This is my second visiting the salon, and that was 2 days ago and now my normal manicure I had done is just completely chipped. I work at an office so my fingers don’t have too much excitement. I feel a bit bad to give this review butDay 1: after manicure I came back to salon because 4 fingers were already chippedDay 2: It’s a fresh start since I had them fixed, but by the end of the end it was just ruined. These photos are from today (day 2) after I had already come back 1 time to get the chips fixed.I feel like I just wasted money
This is my favorite nail salon, the best gel mani ever! Very clean and friendly! Highly recommended.
I’ve been going to Minty for over a year. They always do a great job and are friendly. It’s my go-to nail salon.
I love getting my nails done with the ladies at the salon, one because they are super friendly and I know them for a long time and two because I think they are one of the few that do the job very well.
Great place but do not use the male technician. He is horrible at painting and filing. And he does not speak nor understand English, which you have to understand how difficult it was going there. I gave him 3 weeks of chances. His skills aren’t as qualified as the other ladies. Everyone knows for strong nails you file one direction. My middle and ring finger nails are destroyed from him. They’re weak now from his filing and they break easily. I had to return to my old place to heal. It will take them 3 weeks to heal. I adore 3 of the ladies there. He needs to stop doing nails. Avoid him if possible!
I went to Minty during my break ~3PM on a Monday afternoon. There were two people in progress and no one ahead of me, and I was told I could be seen for a pedicure in ten minutes. I had to ask twice about availability and was given incorrect wait times before leaving almost a half hour later. Very disappointing experience.
My gels do no last. I have been twice.
Reaonably priced, quick and great service . Good Covid / safety practices.
It’s cute and clean nail salon, and a lot of colors to choose from, love this place a lot, I will be back for my nails done again!
Great nails! they are professional, clean and reliable. They also do a lot of fun things so I can keep my nails looking amazing.
Minty gives the best gel manicures that last much longer than any other salon I have been to before. The salon is very clean and I can always easily get in for a walk-in appointment. I highly recommend that you give Minty a try, especially if you are looking to get a long-lasting gel manicure!
The candy cane French tip nail photo is hilariously horrible.
I scheduled an appointment for Wednesday at 5:30 the day before online. I was in and out for a pedicure and powder dip manicure in about an hour. Unfortunately for me that day had down poured and by the time I got to my apartment my pedicure had rubbed off from my soaked boots and socks. I called and they said they would fix for me the next morning. Overall great and fast service!
This was my go-to spot. I recommended it to so many fiends. I took clients here. They were awesome!! But, I went back after 6+ months, made appointments and took 2 friends. 2 out of 3 of us had to wait over 30 minutes to be seen. It was very rushed. What’s worse is that my nails were filed crookedly and my gel is coming off after less than a week. I may give them another chance, but my recommendation would be to be weary. Hoping it was a bad night, but the quality was definitely subpar.
Clean, quick, and precise. My nails always look amazing after leaving here, and my Gel lasts two weeks. Walk-ins accepted, and they run cash specials during the week. Huge selection of colors and polish options.
Its not the greatest but its not horrible. Lots of nail colors to choose from but technican pull my cuticles instead of cutting it. She was rushing for sure. Just to know cash only for afternoon specials or else they add about $5 for credit card. Not as clean as it looks in photos. Might go back but not top of my list.
I came back after they suggested they would make it right. They didnt. Nails peeled again in less than a week. Cute salon but not worth it.
I went for a sns gel manicure which is supposed to last 3 weeks - didn’t even last 4 days before one fell completely off. I went in got it fixed and guess what... the next day ANOTHER fell off. I called and asked for a refund but they don’t offer those and said I could have a free do-over but clearly they can’t do it right so why go back? Save yourself the over-prices trip
Very clean and nice staff but cuticles were pulled not cut + polish peeled after 4 days. Loved the way they came out but hate that they didnt last. Too expensive for only 4 days of wear.
They are fast and have specials during the week if you pay cash. Once in a while Ive had less than 5-star service (nails uneven or overly rushed), but overall they are one of the nicer salons in the neighborhood and have reasonable prices.
I want to extend my nail length with tips. what are the options you have? I also want to do French tips, how much would it be?
I came here for the first time yesterday since Im staying nearby. It was a great experience. First of all, they have an insane nail polish selection compared to what Im used to. They have over five brands (Essie, Zoya, Dior, Chanel, Deborah Lippmann, etc). I believe it costs 1$ extra for the fancy brands like Chanel, Dior, and Deborah Lippmann. The staff was very polite even though I had called five minutes ahead of time to ask for two manicures. Also, they did not rush my friend and I while we were taking our time selecting the perfect nail polish color. I hate feeling rushed while searching for the right color. There are a lot of choices! Give me my timeee.I got a regular manicure and my nail technician was incredible. She seemed to really care about doing a perfect job. She took her time and fixed every little imperfection. I believe her name might have been Shirely. I definitely recommend her! Although, my best friend who got her nails done, as well, also had a great technician. Im sure they all do good work from what I saw. Will definitely be back when Im in the area.
I dont know where to even begin. I found Minty Nails while seeking a place that was good with nail designs and had an aesthetically pleasing establishment since I would be going to get my Flirty 30 nails done. Mind you I am as plain as they come when it comes to nails, but I thought what the heck. While Minty Nails is convenient, reasonably priced, & very cute on the inside I have to say I question them. Heres why:I booked a reservation to receive nail extensions, gel polish, & 3 nail designs (marble nails specifically). The reservation was confirmed and I showed up to my appointment once again confirming they knew how to do that design technique (prior to beginning anything). I was informed it would not be 100% like the marbling in the image. Of course not I thought, it will look differemt every time.Long story short we got all the way to the design phase of the process and there my tech was (Mei) attempting to DRAW marbling on my nails. There I sat horrified thinking about the time and money that would be wasted in addition to how I would not have the nails I intended to have for my milestone birthday party. After 5 or 6 attempts at the process I explained to her that the technique is not drawn on. I showed her what I provided in my reservation, and the image that I showed her prior to starting the process again. To which she admitted their salon does not provide that design technique. They offered me many differemt designs, but you know how it is when you have something specific in mind not to mentio she ha already given me tips and painted all but 3 of my nails.I was left in a pretty sticky position I could have them take them off and waste even more of my time amd end up with absolutely nothing, or I could make the best out of am otherwise messed up situation.I felt bamboozled.Clearly someone knew that was not something they could provide prior to my sitting in the chair for an hour and a half to receive a very mediocre set of nail extension, with absolutely no attention to the hangnails that needed trimming on my nail beds on top of not receiving my intended design. As I cried looking through alternative designs I reluctantly selected gold flakes to accompany my white nails. But wait, I decided to make one more hail Mary request that would have been an exceptional alternative (being that my original design included a border nail on one of the marble nails), Can you border this nail? 3 minutes later another failed attempt at a very simple nail design technique. I had her remove it and just proceed with the topcoat. As I checked out they told me they would not charge me for the designs. Big whop. Again I either would need to remove the nails entirely amd find somewhere else or attempt myself. Or I could pay another nail salon. Either way the resolution was nowhere near fair or reasonable all things considered. The receptionist even had the nerve to offered me a rewards card!!! Needless to say I WONT BE GOING BACK.I gave 2 stars because even though they dont do very good work they do take their time, are open to constructive criticism (without an attitude), & seem to do great basic paint jobs on real nails.Maybe it will work out for you but if marble nails is what you seek BUYER BEWARE!
Dropped in to fill an hour and to my surprise did not suffer through a brutal cuticle trimming which is often the case with the rando nail places. Polish stayed on for a week. #manicurewin
Its a very cute space, and they were very efficient. However, my technician, although very friendly and nice clipped one nail (the pinky) and asked if the length was ok. It was trim and extended past the end of my finger. When I said yes, she then cut the rest of my nails below the tip of my finger (so there is fingertip showing above my nail). They are a bit short for my liking and definitely too short to play a stringed instrument with (which is why I tend to keep them a little longer). I would definitely specify if nail length is important to you. She did do a lovely job with the polish and I have to say that my nails all look great, even if not my ideal length.A little frustrating, but nails grow back, so not the end of the world. The polish selection is very nice, as other have noted. If you need a quick mani/pedi, and youre in the neighborhood, this is a good stop, but for the price, Ill probably stick to my regular Chinatown haunt with the massage chairs for the same amount of money.
A little pricey, not the best pedicure but I was pleased with my SNS manicure.
The owner did my nails and did them so badly. She even cut my skin while filing super aggressively. Then I said my nails were too long and insisted she cut it more and she got up and went to the bathroom and when she came back she just sat there. I paid $60 and left and looking for a different place to fix my nails
Lesson: never choose a nail salon based on convenience. The nail tech cut my right toe near my nail bed and when I saw it was red I asked her to clean it up before polishing further with my red polish. Needless to say, the red I saw was blood. She didnt realize this until I told her. Really?Suggestion: when there are five seats for pedicures and you have less than four or five clients, separate their seating. Its a small salon, which is common in the boroughs, and theres no need to seat people so snugly if its not necessary. Not only will this provide a somewhat more comfortable experience for all involved parties, it will help everyone manage the noise that occurs when a client getting a pedicure talks louder than the playing music to her friend getting her nails done across the room. This happened on 4/2/17. Only in New York City. #semiprivateplaceETIQUETTE
The go-to spot for a great gel mani!
The male technician is terrible! I hate my nails now and it hurts on my finger tips
If a place has mediocre reviews, it means something. Please don’t go to this place.
My girlfriend was not very happy lol
Amazing manicure and pedicure
Only been past there never been in
Quick service
