So far, I love it here. I found this place while the shut down was still in place, and I didnt see it until I moved in. Its in a convenient place for food, shopping, and close to my school. Traffic isnt super bad. The trash compactor has been replaced with valet trash which is super convenient having them grab your trash instead of you having to drive to the compactor. Its pretty quiet and not many issues.
I have been at Sturbridge Commons for almost 2.5 years and absolutely love it here. The maintenance guys take care of the community really well. I have never had a major problem in my apartment and any issues I have had have always been taken care of quickly. The office staff is always friendly and doing fun events for the residents. I am surprised by the other reviewers that said bad things, they must have left owing money. LOL! Trust me, its a good place to live.
Ive been here almost three years, and in that time, any problems Ive had--theyve fixed. Quick. And its very quiet here. The valet trash service only makes this place better. Ive thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and Im renewing my lease again one final time before we buy a house. Truly wonderful time here. (And the pool and gym aint bad either).
I have been a resident here for three years, the management and staff are equally impressive as well as encouraging and helpful. Carson, Morgan, and the property manager Sherri are excellent at making residents feel exceptionally comfortable. Pricing, great floor plans, appliances, and amenities all make the living experience delightful.
This is the worst apartment in Montgomery, emails and phone calls are never answered promptly. Expensive rent and rude Manager. When you plan to move out they deduct your entire deposit. Please dont move here, it was the worst experience of my life. I would give 0 stars if possible .Even if this was Montgomerys last Apt, Id rather sleep in my car. Instead of moving here.
I have been meaning to write a review about how pleased I am with living in this community (I have been here for over a year), but I must say, My heart is filled with joy and just overwhelmed at how much the staff (Leslie and Bree) go out of their way to help you...I have never lived at a place where the Manager of the community personally calls/text you to make sure that you are safe. I dont have family here, so when things happen, its hard to find help, but I honestly feel that the girls in the office genuinely care about the tenants...and I have such a peace of mind knowing that if anything happens, the Staff at Sturbridge has my back. From the application process to maintenance issues, living here has been by far the best apartment community I have ever lived in. If you are looking for the best luxury community experience in Montgomery, I highly suggest you checking Sturbridge out...I suggest Sturbridge to all my Clients, Friends who are looking to upgrade their living conditions...
The service is very bad. Very disappointed from the service.
Trash disposal is broken half of the time. Then trash spills on the road and smell is everywhere.Pet trash bags at the bin are never found. People dont pick up after their pets. Cant even step in the grass sometimes. Avoid at all possible costs.
Previous review: 5 stars Ashley in the leasing office has continuously exceeded expectations and goes out of her way to offer great service. The maintenance requests Ive had have been promptly handled.Updated: Ashley is no longer with this leasing team and the maintenance requests were not handled as efficiently. When I resigned my lease I was contacted after signing to be informed they were not offering the lease term that two people previously confirmed over the phone. It was honored since the lease had already been signed. My ac went a few weeks during the summer not working efficiently (apartment was frequently 78 degrees) and maintenance kept telling me the unit was working. They eventually stated it was likely an energy efficiency issue with insulation. I lived there less than two years and submitted work orders for the water heater (replaced), the ac multiple times every summer (likely 15 total work orders), the garbage disposal (2-3 work orders), the interior dead bolt (it fell out after getting stuck) which was replaced with a silver lock (the one right below is gold so its mismatched). The trash compactor was frequently broken so trash piled up. At the price point, I would reccomend the verandas instead.
I WOULD NOT advise anyone to move here! Maintenance suck and everyone that lives here continuously have problem with AC systems. They do not have routine pest control even though you are paying for it. If you dont call and tell them to have your unit sprayed, they will go an entire year without having anyone come out. All appliances are old and dated. These apartments need to be upgraded and yet rent keep going up. Unless this is the last place in Montgomery, do not move here. If you submit a work order it might take them a week to get to it. Our fridge went out twice within a month causing us to lose food and they didnt compensate us for it. Be aware!
The best apartment I’ve ever lived in. The staff were amazing and very quick to respond to any needs. The grounds are kept immaculate. It’s very quiet and near all the best shopping. I would recommend these apartments to anyone.
I love this apartment complex!
This apartment complex and the management has been really great while I was here! Its an incredible location with restaurants and movie theater across the street. I have had zero issues with maintenance while I was here, and if anything came up, they promptly took care of whatever the issue was. Everyone was really professional and helpful too. Lesley and Bri are by far my favorite staff reps to work with because they are friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and if you tell them something is wrong, they are on top of it immediately. I truly had a really great experience living here and really appreciated all the work they put in to ensure that I felt at home.
Best decision Ive made thus far regarding my residency in Montgomery, AL. I moved in mid 2017 and have been a happy tenant since then. The staff is nice (especially Bri M.) and maintenance handles issues swiftly. They also have a lot of neighborhood interaction, which is a plus.
Based on what we have experienced so far by living in Sturbridge apartments since July 2013 is that the place has no other advantage than location. The following problems are tips of the iceberg what we suffered:There is absolutely no control or procedures to keep the area clean. The dumpsters are over flowing on weekend, the steps going to dumpsters and the door for the dumpster are so dirty you feel like throwing up. The Community Laundry area is very filthy. The water flow in showers makes such a big noise that you can hear your neighbor taking shower and sometime it’s very disturbing when those showers are taken in the middle of the night and/or early morning. Office has absolutely no concern over maitainance delays and poor workmanship for repairs. There was a leak in my closet which took almost 2 weeks for fixing, the leak under kitchen and master bathroom is taking fever. Even once repaired leaks go back to leaking within short time of repair. Couple of maintenance people are very rude. There are lots of empty promises made to the tenants. We wish we should have never rented here. I’m sure there may be more who will have similar complaints but either don’t know how to publicize or simply don’t have time to do so.
Worst apartment complex ever. They dont deserve not even the 1 star given. Spend your money elsewhere. They are under very poor management and have a high office and maintenance turnover ratio. Unfortunately, the girls in the front office who really knew anything left, probably to better themselves. They lack good leadership at all levels and that unfortunately trickles down to becoming the residents issue. The trash and litter has gotten out of control and I was told it was not maintenance or the groundskeepers job. I can confirm that maintenance does a poor job at repairs and even if you make the necessary repairs properly, you will NEVER see your security deposit again. The only possible upside to this complex is location, however, seeing as though crime has increased tremendously in that area near the AMC theatre and Walmart and Sturbridge isnt gated you would be better off somewhere that costs just as much but is gated. This complex has fallen off quite largely in the last couple years and continues to decline. So much money for very little satisfaction!!!
The pool area and the 24-hour gym are great! The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Ashley!
Absolutely old facilities. mushrooms are growing in bathroom. Gas tank broke (fix next day). Toilet tank lid. the oldest laundry machine i have ever seen. It took 2 month to fix to stop mushroom growing ( I went the rental office 10 times).
Very bad management. Also the service. Service depends on human color
Walls are super thin, very rude neighbors with multiple screaming kids. Im a doctor and have lost sleep multiple nights now over screaming children jumping around all hours of the night pounding on who knows what and screaming for hours. Ive filed noise complaints and gotten nowhere.Update: Still miserable, courtesy officers are rude, I dont feel safe or welcome here and am counting down the days until I can finally move out. Management apparently talked to my neighbors, who are just more rude towards me now probably for complaining.
When I first moved in, everything seemed so nice with this place. The more I lived there, the more I wanted to leave. The HVAC was nonfunctional five times while I lived there. The carpet was stained and damaged when I moved in, but they still charged me to replace it when I moved out. Go somewhere downtown that is new, and avoid this place.
Their NEW maintenance team is nice. They came here this morning because of the water leak, and they have diagnosed exactly what made the water leaks and concluded that the entire sink should be replaced. And it was replaced and everything is done in a few hours in the morning. This is evidence that maintenance is doing well.
Based on what has been experienced so far, the only benefit of living in Sturbridge Commons is the location. The following problems are a glimpse at what residents can expect; potentially identifying details have been omitted for the sake of maintaining anonymity. These complaints have been voiced by a number of other tenants.*Trash. There is usually trash surrounding the dumpster, floating in the pond, and strewn about the grounds.*Mail rooms. Both mail rooms are usually in poor condition, particularly the mail room in the second clubhouse.*Car Wash. The car washing station vacuum has been broken for some time, and management refuses to fix it; they will not even give an estimated time frame for when it will be fixed. The water for the car washing station only works intermittently.*Community Laundry. The communal laundry facility is filthy.*Interior. The interior of the apartment is incredibly inferior for a luxury apartment.*Maintenance. Maintenance is on a very long first come, first serve basis. When they finally do arrive, they do a substandard job.*Noise. Through the walls you can hear normal, indoor volume conversations of neighbors on all sides of your unit. The windows block no sound, such that noises from outside the apartment are the same volume inside the apartment.*Other Tenants. There are very many other tenants with children, and there appear to no rules (or no enforced rules) about volume or leaving toys strewn about the grounds.*Management. When presented with any complaints, the management assures tenants that any and all issues will be addressed, though this is very rarely true.
Bad Bad management. Problems are never solved. I mean never.... he rent is too high and pool is always dirty. There is algae everywhere in the pool. Gym hardly has 3/4 instruments.Location is good but with respect to the rent taken, service is Third class.I called up for help to fix my bathrooms flush tank and for the whole 2 weeks they did not show up. I had been visiting the office at least 20 times. Still its not fixed
This apartment complex is in a convenient location for local food and shopping. It was great to live right across the street from Walmart neighborhood market and the movie theater. Easy to get to AUM and other places around town. The rent was affordable and the improvements to the main pool area were very nice. We had a couple of maintenance issues which spanned over our stay at Sturbridge, however management did a great job to resolve these issues. we suggest keeping lines of communication open with management if you have an issue they will do their best to make things right. overall I enjoyed the time we lived at Sturbridge Commons.
Use various methods to make residents pay
Worst place to stay in.. No security.. Bad management plus they don’t care about people..
Been living here for almost 2 years now. Maintenance has always been attentive to the needs of the tenants. However, the office staff is different. Customer service lacking. I went to the office to see if someone could help me get a new battery for my FIRE & SAFETY concerns of my smoke detector beeping. I was handled disgruntledly by the office staff. Maintenance was asked if they were on the clock, they replied no and they willingly insisted to help but I told them not to worry about it.I then emailes the manager who sent a maintenance team member out a few hours later. I denied service due to the unfriendly office personnel of replacing a simple battery
A Great Place To Stay 😌
Its a very bad management community in Montgomery. They dont care any of tenant living in this place. They dont take care propar way. Lots of tenant had complain about MANAGER of this location. If any work needed you can knock their door but they dont like to hear that. Rent it high and lots of tenant going out another places.
Wrost place the live with highest rent in surrounding, No security, no cleaning, not a friendly staff at all.Everyweek rebbery happened and still they dont wanna put security. Shame to say that i live here.Group of People smoke weed in open and no action aginst them. Definitely not safe if you wanna live with your family.
I love to live here
The new management is doing a very good job.
Overall a nice apartment complex. Staff is always friendly and maintence takes care of your needs quickly. The only draw back is the online bill pay, it never seems to work. They just need to update their website so people can actually pay rent online. I work all day and go to school, so catching the office during business hours can be challenging. But to end on a positive note: I live in a 1 bedroom with my girlfriend and our dog, there is plenty of room for personal space. We had a bug problem for exactly 1 day before it was taken care of. Ive never heard any noise from neighbors. The complex itself is close to everything; Walmart market across the street, Win-dixie and Publix less than a mile away, and most popular shopping complex in Montgomery just a mile or so away. Yet, the complex is off the main road and feels private. I would say this complex is one of the safest in town as well.
The staff is amazing love them
Perfect location for AUM and shopping
Good school zone and close to stores
Previous comment was left by the assistant manager herself. Poorly managed.
Malaylaliesss ... pls come ....
