Mrs Ruby Is amazing! I will always only go to her!
I went for hair color and cut. Unfortunately the lady I booked with was not able to make it. Instead of turning me away a nice lady, Lanique asked if she could do my hair. Of course I said. My hair cut and color turned out so good! While talking I learned she was the manager. She treated her staff well and was very professional. She took great care of me! I will definitely go back. Very pleased with service there.
Ive used the place twice and first time was great and the guy who done it was great and well today went back and the rude ummm chick made my niece look like welfare and her hair is uneven
I cant never get appointment
First time for a perm there. Best perm I have had.
My sister and I have been with JCP hair salon for 7years unfortunately the location at timber creek closed and my stylist Nicole transferred to Town East location . I have no problem with my stylist she is awesome ! But the front desk / customer Service when you walk in and checkout they are just rude, unprofessional, and unconcerned. I never experience such horrible customer service until My Sister and I followed our stylist to TownEast location. I know we are in a pandemic and all but please ladies if you know your are not a people person and don’t want to be bother, don’t run to font to check out anybody spreading the negativity and trying to ruin our moods . Other then that my experience was great with my stylist as always !
I got a haircut and an olaplex treatment some by mariah and oh my, Im so in love with the results! Im a curly haired girl and after bleaching my hair my curls were a little sad and nearly gone. Maiah brought them back to life! Im definitely coming back for her and for another round of olaplex.
It was very welcoming, staff greeted us with pleasant smiles. The place is very clean, organized, and open. They even have free water and coffee while you wait. My mom was there for 3hrs, so I went window shopping. The lady kept me up fo date that it was going to take longer than expected.... very friendly. My mom likes the place and the staff, will be going back
I stop by today to get my hair done by Margie. Oh my my my she was awesome, great, fantastic, and amazing!! I have found a stylist who knows what she is doing. Keep up the Great work. I highly recommend her.
I had a fantastic experience last night! Izzy pampered me with a shampoo/blow dry and I felt like I died and went to heaven! The shampoo was wonderful from the head massage to the hot towel! He was also so helpful in educating me on new products that could benefit my hair needs! By the end of the service I felt like a new woman with Victoria Secret hair! 👌🏻✨ Thanks Izzy!
I went in this town east location today because I needed a color touch up fast and thought they may be able to help me but I know that every salon doesn’t know how to correctly process ethic hair let alone natural hair. The woman/man at the front desk gave me the worst customer service I have ever had in my life. It was simply awful. She got mad because I simple wanted to know exactly what and how they were going to process my hair. I was then passed me off to a woman who could do it but I had to wait an hour for service but “she” could do It right then. “She” then tried to imply that she was a master and I maybe couldn’t afford her because she was more expensive so then I was passed off to some guy who didn’t even show me what color he was going to dye my hair and when I asked what he was doing he said “I think that color matches so I’m just going to use that color.” But honey it’s my hair and you getting in your feelings because a customer asks to see the sample for themselves and for clarification of how you are going to process their is simply ridiculous. I Immediately got up and walked out. I don’t give a damn about a person’s personal whatever or sexual orientation! I just want to know can you do the job or not before I spend my time and money. Leave your ego and insecurities at home. I WILL NEVER, EVER GO BACK HERE AND NEVER EVER TRUST A JCPENNY SALON!
Good service Pam and Blanca are awesome 👏 love the way my hair came out. Prices are reasonable and they take their time to make sure your happy with the results best highlights I’ve gotten. Found my new hairstylists. Thank you ladies 🥰
It has taken me 13 years to find her but thank god I have !!! Lucy at the instyle salon in mesquite is Amazing. My hair has never grown this long or been this healthy. I was skeptical as a fellow hairdresser but she did introduce me to new products and a new treatment I couldn’t resist. I give her a double thumbs up and the salon atmosphere on a Sunday 5 stars
Alex did an awesome job on my hair. I love the cut and hi lights she did. Definitely will go back to her.
Its a hit or miss with this salon. First time I went the cut wasnt bad just not what I asked for. I tried again, different stylist, one of the better cuts I have had. This last time was truly awful, not what I wanted at all. My hair is so uneven, left side is about 1 - 1-1/2 longer than the right. The back was bad as well. I know why she used so many styling gels, to cover her mistakes. I should have made sure she had a license to cut hair.Pricing was different as well. I had to go to another salon and have someone fix the mistakes.
If there was a no star option I would have chosen that. I had a similar experience as the customer name Ms. T on the reviews. They will quote you one price over the phone when you call to make appointment. Next, when you get there because you are of a different race than the stylist, they will tell you since you have ethnic hair you have to use someone else. Next, the stylist that they try to get you to use charges triple what they advise over the phone and begin to give you a speech about their master level prices. This is totally a rip off and a way to hassle customers. All I wanted was a rinse to cover my grays hair is makeup of Keratin regardless the ethnicity of a person. I get the texture will be different but if you have a license cosmetologist you should have been trained on doing a rinse on all hair types and not just a select few. It is blatant discrimination and I am applauded JCPenny would be behind such a policy. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Dont go there go to Walmart Salon better CS and a rinse wont cost you an arm and a leg.
Mary was wonderful. She listened and examined my hair then she gave me a beautiful style that works with my thick, coarse hair Im so happy. Thank you Mary. 💋More to add. The way she styled and dried my hair hid a huge gap she cut in the back of my hair. It looks terrible and I cant afford to get it fixed. Thank slot.
I went in for a haircut on January 20th. Adelfa benitez was my stylist appointed to me. She didn’t introduce herself I was given her name to me by the receptionist. Adelfa immediately took me to the shampoo bowl with out a consultation, it wasn’t until she was done shampooing my hair that she asked me what I was wanting. After showing her the picture she said “I think I can do that” I began asking her questions to how long has she done hair because it was a simple bob hair cut to do. She then could not answer any of my questions as she avoided a lot of my questions. I told her I wasn’t comfortable with her cutting my hair. She told me she couldn’t let me leave with wet hair, so she blowed dried my hair and then I was charged for a shampoo blow dry for $32. When this was not my intentions. I went ahead and paid the $32 but I felt very cheated as I still needed a haircut. The whole reason for me going there. I had no choice but to still go somewhere else and pay for a hair cut which I ended up paying more than I should have. If the stylist would have given me a consultation before she touched my hair. Beware before letting them cut your hair without a consultation. I feel very cheated by JC Penny’s hair salon. Very unprofessional!!! Below is the picture that I was requesting for the stylist. As you see it’s a pretty simple cut.
This was the worst experience I had. I initially set up an appointment online to have a simple wrap set done. I was told the price was $30. About 1hr after I set up my appointment I got a call stating the person I set an appointment with doesn’t do African American hair and said I could be set up with someone else. No prices or nothing was given I get to the salon and the lady wet my hair, wrapped it. And flat ironed it. 1st my hair looks like it was never touched with flat irons then I get the register to be told the price was $60. I was very upset and asked why she stated because. She’s a “master stylist “ whatever That means . I expressed that I was told $31 she stated that she was two levels above that person therefore I have to pay more.... I will never use their services again!!!!!
I had my first visit to the Towne East Salon recently. I normally get great results from Keisha at Vista Ridge, however she was out last week. I called Towne East explained, that I was looking for a stylist that could touch up my highlights. She gave me the name of the stylist, I said sure no problem as long as they have worked with African American hair and they are a color specialist. At that point she changed me to Anthony! All I can say is WOW! I arrived timely, Anthony introduced himself listened to my initial request stepped away and came back with a cost quote, I too thought it was a little high however i have found JCP to be reputable, have amazing customer service and stand behind what they sell. Anthony was like the best friend that had a better vision for my hair than I had for me. He pointed to one of the pictures on the wall and told me that’s what he had in mind what did I think? I told him to go for it! My hair was much more trouble than he expected I’m sure but Anthony worked with such professionalism and expertise. I just want to compliment him again he is a true artist, he was very confident that I would like the finished product, I absolutely love it!!! as I left the store I bumped into a customer she said “your hair looks fabulous”, it told her to go in and ask for Anthony and she did. In actuality a lot of my friends tell me my hair color and style would probably cost double at a stand alone Spa salon and for the results I got I would be willing to pay it. The new style has been such a boost in confidence I really love it. Finally in closing Anthony had a preset appointment to do his mom’s hair, true professional that he is, being in the middle of my hair he called another stylist to help with his mom. I thank them all three for their flexibility!
Janna did a great job. Loved my cut abs color.
This was the worst place I have ever worked at. Some of the staff is very unprofessional. I would not recommend anyone to work there. If you want to work at a Jcpenney salon go to another one the Town East location is not where you want be.
I was a little skeptical to use anyone else in the salon aside from Lucy Because Of such horrible reviews. I will say I have been going to Lucy since she was a designer and as her long time client I was proud of her promotion to senior and okay with paying more money for her expertise and because she is now in such high demand. It has been almost a month since I have been able to get in with Lucy so she recommended Alex. Alex is usually only there Monday and Tuesday but once I got in her chair OMG 😲 was it worth it. I had a long day on set and can’t lie it was stressful ... as a fellow hairdresser and makeup artist I’m usually on the go .... but Alex shampoo literally shut me up & put me to sleep. She had to wake me up to walk over to get my Blowdry. I have decided Alex is my new shampoo Blowdry artist and Lucy is my Cut and color artist. I feel bad for other individuals with bad experiences but I will say because I am so picky I went in for a consultation & ended up being referred to both senior stylists and for what they each were recommended for they are Amazing & definitely worth the higher price point!!! If you need a new Stylist try either lady out I give Alex and Lucy 20 stars ⭐️
I can’t remember her name, but I’m assuming she was new because she couldn’t even work the computer. I’m very upset because she totally cut my hair too short than I wanted and cut the back of my hair as if it was her first time cutting hair. Now I have to go to work with botched hair. She seemed a bit slow to me but I was just going to give her a chance but now I know that was a mistake. She has mediumish brown hair, maybe mexican, her chair is next to Diana’s chair on the left. Do not go with her because she’s terrible. I did not tell her anything because it was too late, what can you even do at that point you know? I’m very upset and NEVER going there again.
Izzy is the best I had a perm well more of a wave did an awesome job very pleased. Will go back.
I see Ella, she gets my blonde right, keeps my hair healthy, and does great cuts!
Went in to go blonde the lady colored my hair but didnt touch my roots at all, went back the next day for the roots and the guy stripped the blonde out of my hair Im now a ashy burnette. Thanks for nothing! Dont waste your money on this place the people working here clearly dont know what the hell theyre doing!
Worst place to get a hair cut!! The lady had no clue what she was doing and kept asking the others that worked there. And then said and done 1 1/2 hours later was not the hair cut I asked for. Never coming back
Good place to go to. Dont book on line because no one confirms appointments.
Great service!! The stylists are extremely nice!! If youre natural go see Solita. Shes the one who did my hair!!
Daphne White did an awesome job, thanks for all your hard work and knowledge.
Patty did a amazing job on my hair very good customer service
I just got my hair done at Jcpenny with Katrice Thompkins and she is WONDERFUL and very professional and insightful..Im Very pleased with her work and will follow her anywhere.. I felt like no one else was in the room but me and her. She listened, and gave a very homely vibe. She took her time and made sure my hair looked good before I walk out of the shop..Keep up the great work Katrice You SLAYED my hair and had me leave with a smile on my face...
My usual stylist Pam was not in and since I was only in town for a few days I saw another stylist named Edgar. This review isnt necessarily about the salon as a whole because I have been going to Pam for 3 or 4 years now and she is wonderful. Edgar, however, is a whole different story. My hair was down to the bottom of my shoulder blades and I went in for a trim and touch up on my long layers and bayalage. My natural hair color is a medium blonde but I had it colored dark blonde at the time. Normally Pam is the one is who does my bayalage and she puts in some lighter blonde and caramel. Since Edgar had turned me away from the mirror, I assumed he was doing what Pam always does since they can look it up in the computer. When he rinsed it and finally let me see it, I was shocked! So shocked that I didnt even let him dry it. It was white blonde from about the ears down. Im not talking highlights but all over. First, I never go that blonde, even with highlights. Second, my hair is naturally blonde and he used bleach on it. Bleach is not necessary when highlighting naturally blonde hair. In fact, this was the first time anyone has ever used bleach on my hair. As he was brushing it out and getting out the blow dryer, I just kept getting more and more frustrated to the point where I told him to just stop. I went to the manager and told her that this was not what I asked for in any way. She seemed rather indifferent to my unhappiness. Probably the worst part was that it was her that recommended him and she swore he was as good as Pam. After telling her I wanted to see the store manager and her telling me they were not in, she refunded my money and I went to the Ulta salon in Rockwall 2 days later. My hair was so damaged I had to get a pixie cut to get rid of all the damage. Then the stylist dyed it a medium brown since even with the pixie it was still a patchy mess and going darker would prevent more damage. The stylist who did my hair at Ulta found a chemical burn on the back of my scalp from where Edgar had apparently burned me. She took a picture of it so I could see it. She also guessed, by name, the person who did such a horrible job on my hair after I told her where I had it done. She used to work at this JC Penney salon and said this kind of thing from Edgar is common. So, as a whole, I dont like the salon but Pam has made it worth going to for the past few years. Im afraid that is no longer going to be the case though. Edgar did so much damage to my hair and scalp and the manager didnt really seem to care. If you want good service and good results, go somewhere else.
I went on Tuesday on Wednesday I realized my hair in the back there was several places where it was not cut and then today I washed it with color safe matrix and can barely see any blonde highlights on the left side .
My stylist was very nice
The best hair salon ever!
Ask for Blanca she’s the best
You can shop after getting your hair done
Clothes in disarray, no one around to help. Cashier takes extremely too long. Took me over an hour to find 5 pair of jeans my size because I I had to open pants to see sizes, also prices are hard to find. Only 2 cashiers in the store so Im writing this as I wait.
Lucy is the best!!
