I have a 6 and almost 4 year old and we have been going here for the past 2+ years. We LOVE it! We usually see Dr. Anderson who is a great dentist and awesome with the parents and kids, but we’ve also seen Dr. Shepherd and he was great as well. The doctors, staff, and assistants/hygienists are very professional, friendly, and good at making the kids feel safe and comfortable. My kids are always excited to go to their appointments whether it’s just for a cleaning or to get work done. I didn’t have good experiences with the dentist as a kid which caused major anxiety in my older years, so it is very important to me that my kids have competent doctors who also care about the kids well being & feelings. This office definitely checks those boxes.

We love Pediatric Smiles of Orem. Hands down the best kids dentist! They always go out of their way to make sure that my boys feel comfortable ad safe at their appointments. Adam Shepherd has amazing patience and has worked through hard situations with my son more than once. He is seriously the best!!!

Despite being a dental assistant for Dr. Shepherd back in 2019 I don’t want this review to seem biased. I’ve always been one to over-analyze and as a result of that I watched Dr. Shepherd, Anderson, Swan, and Lund’s every move— so much so I probably drove them crazy. But during the 11 months I worked at Pediatric Smiles I never saw any of the doctors cut corners. They always went above and beyond to help the patients feel as comfortable as possible while providing top-quality dental work.With their new, larger office opening up soon they’ll be needing to hire on another dentist; I’m not sure of their name, but if they’re anything like the other dentists Dr. Shepherd has working alongside him, they’ll be nothing short of amazing.Dr. Shepherd has not only helped me with my own dental work but also a relative of mine with a long history of drugs, alcohol, depression, and other health problems— they were even at risk of losing most of their teeth within a few months. Attached is a before and after picture to show Dr. Shepherd’s high level of detail and flawless work. It’s been about 1.5 years since the work was done and they’re still free of any dental problems.If you have any children in need of dental work I 100% recommend Pediatric Smiles.

Everyone is always so welcomingI took my one and a half-year-old today and he was having a hard time waiting and one of the nice dental assistances want out of her way to find a toy for him which calmed him down. Dr. Shepherd is always so nice and pleasant. Took all three of my kids to see the dentist and everyone was fast and efficient, definitely love having them .

Little back story I hate going to the dentist, nothing makes me more anxious. I usually go to the dentist with my mom but not today so I was extra anxious and unfortunately I started crying because like I said the dentist makes me anxious but the lady who was helping was so kind and wiped my tears and held my hand for a little until I calmed down. We have gone to this office a total of 4 times now and I absolutely love it! They are so good with my son and have a way to help the kids stay calm and relaxed during fairly long procedures! The staff is also very nice! I’m so happy with this dentist office!

I love their office! The staff is so friendly & their office is very inviting. I took my newborn in for a tongue and lip tie evaluation and was so impressed. I really appreciate that Dr. Shepherd doesnt recommend procedures that he doesnt feel are necessary or if he feels it wont be helpful for the child. He revised my sons lip tie and the process was so smooth. It immediately made a world of difference with nursing. I enjoyed hearing little interactions they had with other young patients in the office. They are great with kids. I definitely plan to visit their office again for my kids dental needs. We have always loved coming to this office and have been coming for about 6 years. The first time we came my daughter was scared but they took the time to let her touch the tools and this alleviated her fears and I was impressed with how patient they were. This time my daughter tied her boots together by their bungies and they were so tight! Dr Shepherd noticed me trying to undo them and while he could’ve ignored it, said he had some tools that might be able to undo it. He struggled with them for 5-10 more minutes and got them untied; I am so grateful. It’s the little things that truly make a difference!

I have been coming here for 7 years. I love the dentists and everything here. But not the braces! Always have to wait for long time every time we come to check and the wire get break too often.

Best pediatric dentist we’ve had! Friendly people and sound medical care. They do a great job helping the kids feel comfortable and have a positive experience.

I’m appalled at the lack of COVID precautions taken at Pediatric smiles. It’s December. We have uncontrolled spread and a 26%positivity rating in Utah County and when we walk in, neither receptionist is wearing a mask and patients are walking in and out with no masks. I don’t feel safe here.

My six-year-old and four-year-old boys are usually quite a challenge at the dentist office but they love coming here! The staff is great and specifically Angelica is amazing. She is so great with kids and I love how my boys talk about her and say they are excited to come back to see her. My six-year-old had a cavity and is quite dramatic and Angelica got him to calm down and we were able to get the cavity filled. She has a way of making the kids trust her and is so sweet. They give the kids tokens so they can go to the machines after and get a toy and of course my kids love that as well. Dr. Anderson makes the kids feel comfortable and is really awesome as well! We are really happy there and I recommend them highly!

The best place and the best care for children

This place is wonderful for kids! We love Dr. Shepherd and the hygienists are just as awesome! my daughter was having a hard time and she painted her fingernails and made her feel totally comfortable! they have so many toys and things to get the kids mind off of the dentist, my kids love the balloons and especially the tokens you can use at the end to get toys! If you have kids, this is definitely the place to go! Every one is so nice friendly from the second you walk in!

Love this place. Everyone there is so accommodating to my kids and me. They make the dental experience as pleasant as can be. My little girl got her nails done by the assistant while waiting on the dentist and was so occupied with the TV and the teddy bear they gave her to hug that she barely noticed that we took out a tooth. I love coming into Pediatric Smiles of Orem! Dr Shepard has always been so kind, and does amazing work! His staff is so great too! I am always greeted with a smile, and they are so good to my kids. They make coming to the dentist enjoyable. We love all the dentists hygienists and assistants that work there. We’ve worked with them all with our 5 kids. If you’re looking for a great pediatric dentist, this is where you want to be. We have also had great experiences with their orthodontic services too. We have two kids in braces and they’re doing so good! Teeth can be complicated, and they have put all my worries to rest. I can’t thank them enough for helping to pull down my sons front tooth that was blocked by another tooth fragment. Dr Shepherd got right on it and was texting an oral surgeon the day we were in getting x rays. Happy to say that we are seeing such great progress!

The staff were very patient and reassuring to my two boys who have high anxiety and sensory issues. They both left feeling great about doing something they were really dreading but knew needed done.Dr. Shepherd also does a great job of reassuring and helping my boys feel better. And us adults too! He really seems to know what he’s doing which helps him to find the best route for each individual patient. It was only our second visit, but I already feel really good about choosing them.The receptionists are warm and inviting too. And they handled our confusing insurance problems entirely, which I couldn’t be more thankful for. I would definitely recommend them.

My daughter had a bad experience at another dentist due to a tooth sensitivity. So I found this place after looking all over the utah valley. They were AMAZING! Everyone there was extremely patient with her and kind! I am almost in tears with how well they treated us. Plus they gave her a manicure to help her calm and explained everything to her and me. We have been coming to this office for the last 5 years and see both Dr. Shepherd and Dr. Anderson. They are great with the kids as are all of the staff! My kids always look forward to the token and balloon at each visit! Dentist was great with my little one and helped him feel more comfortable . However the front office staff was horrible. Very rude and snappy. Talks down to you and made a big deal about having to run things through my insurance. Front office staff made me not want to go back.

We love coming here. The staff is super helpful and kind. Dr. Shepherd is a very good dentist. We started seeing him for a second opinion after a different dentist gave us an odd opinion. Thankfully we did because Dr. Shepherd had seen the condition before and while potentially a big problem he knew exactly what to do. My 4 year old can’t wait to go to the dentist! She gets to watch a movie, they paint her nails, she gets a balloon and prize tokens. And as far as insurance goes (and we know dental insurance can be frustrating) they’ve got way great ways to work with you on payment through insurance or not. I’ve literally only been super impressed. They are sooo good with my kids and always make me feel confident and capable of taking care of little teeth.

Dr Anderson and his staff have always been so great with my kids. Always a good experience when we go. They are great to inform me what is going on while they are doing it and answer any questions.

The hygienist was an angel, she was very sweet to my son, and helped get him excited. Then Dr Anderson came in and basically he is a hero. My son has had to be sedated for his pervious appointments, or he was just crying uncontrollably, and refused service. At the end of this appointment he said we should come back tomorrow.... and that was after he got a filling!!!! I never have met such patient and kind dentists ever in my life. I will definitely bring all my children here. Such a WONDERFUL experience, and I dont like the dentist haha.

All of our kids, age 20 to 6, have had issues with primary teeth and so I have been through quite a few pediatric dental offices. Hands down Pediatric Smiles is my favorite. Our 6 year old daughter has Rett Syndrome and so she is completely non-verbal. They are also fantastic with her. Both pediatric dentists- Dr. Shepherd and Dr. Anderson are great!

Dr Anderson, Dr Shepard and Dr. Jimmer are all fantastic. My kid is a terror at the dentist and screams and cries and kicks… They make sure to make him feel comfortable and they are always so nice to me. My older son is really well behaved and he loves all the dentist here as well… No matter how your child acts at the dentist, this is the place to go. Everyone is so kind and well mannered! We won’t ever go elsewhere

I love taking my boys here!! The staff always makes sure that my kids know what’s going on and are comfortable while we are there. We have never had a bad experience because Dr Shepherd is amazing and soo patient.

Well before going into the dentist my 3 1/2 yr old said she was nervous about going to the dentist for the first time. After Ms Jessica got us to go back she was personable and sweet and funny and attentive and patient and most importantly she made sure she was comfortable with every step she took with her. Explaining everything and making it fun. By the end she didn’t want to leave the table and was already taking about coming back after her nap. I’d call that a success and it was all thanks to a beautiful Ms Jessica. Thank you.

These guys are amazing! We go to Dave and he is the BEST!! The staff is wonderful. I have two 4 year olds and they seriously look forward to going. They give you a coin for a prize at the end of your visit and my kids remember that. They play little games with them to get their mind off of what’s going on, which i love!!I also have to give them a shout out because when i took 1 year old in she screamed and she’s not quiet but everyone was so nice and helped so we could get a quick peek in her mouth make sure her teeth looked good. I tend to be super picky about choosing my dentist. Dr. Anderson is so wonderful, patient and kind with my children. Brooklyn Molen so patiently helps my toddler, who is not inclined to let people touch her teeth. This is the only place I would consider taking my kids. They were terrified of the dentist but through a lot of patience they now sit quietly in the dentist chair while the dentist brushes their teeth with their toothpaste and toothbrush from home. Kind and caring....best dentist and staff.

I. LOVE. THIS. OFFICE. We left another pediatric dentist office where my daughter screamed in pain from the needle even under nitrous, so I was very cautious about a new dentist. This one is FANTASTIC! The kids all love cleanings (even my anxious 3-year-old). The office staff is amazing and remembers us in detail, and is extremely helpful and accommodating when I have weird payment issues (my card companys problem), and they work in close communication with the dentist. They help my other kids out when they are in the waiting room if I am in the back. The dentist is fantastic. The team services a lot of special needs kids and anxious kids, and they try to figure out what each child needs to stay relaxed and pain-free. They seem to completely understand children and their natural fears. The dentists technique is perfect. My daughter, who was so traumatized by two painful dental sessions at a previous place, did not even know she was given an injection during her fillings here. She thought he skipped it, because she could not feel it at all, and had zero pain through the entire procedure! My 3-year-old had to have several cavities filled and not only was he not scared by it, but he was excited to return for the rest of his fillings!

Dr. Anderson is one of the best dentists to work with children! I couldn’t imagine a better person to deal with my sons sensory and anxiety issues and he did great with him. On the other hand my one year old a daughter hated every minute of the visit but it had nothing to do with any the Doctor is his staff did wrong she is a strong willed child and when she doesn’t want something to happen she gets her way and the entire time Dr.Anderson and his staff stayed patient and calm the entire which makes me as a mom feel even better and the whole experience and choosing him as our family dentist. We had heard a lot of mixed reviews about the other dentists in the office but Dr. Anderson has always gotten nothing but good reviews and I will recommend him to any one I know who is looking for a pediatric dentist. Thanks again to your amazing office for being so sweet and patient with my kids and a very over protective mom who asked a million questions and hovered over everything that was happening !! You guys are the best!!!

Really great office. Nellie our assistant played a flossing game with my 3 yr old while we waited for the dentist. She loved it. Dr Shepard was awesome. He was way less aggressive with his treatment plan than the last dentist we went to, which was the reason I switched! A great relief as a mom to find a solid and Truly GREAT pediatric dentist.

There is nothing like working with excellent medical professionals who surround themselves with the support of assistants, office management, and account managers who truly understand hospitality and excellence in patient care. From booking, to billing, the appointment to follow up I was impressed. I took my child who was very nervous and they treated us with respect, understanding, and absolutely incredible care. 10 stars!

This place is amazing. The waiting room has many activities for your children to stay entertained as they wait their turn. The front desk people are friendly and informative. The assistants are friendly as well and are very thorough with letting you know how things are going, what to expect, and they make your child very comfortable. They have televisions on the ceiling with earphones to help calm nervous children. The dentists are kind, patient, go at your kids pace, and they follow their cues. I didn’t feel rushed, or like I was just another patient to check off the schedule.I will recommend Pediatric Smiles of Orem to anyone who asks. Such a wonderful experience!

My 6 year old and I just love literally everything about Pediatric Smiles of Orem. The kind and loving doctor and the staff are very competent and cheerful. The state of the art facility is inviting, comfortable and convenient with the latest technology. My son has been to several dentists in Utah county and in Chicago, and I can say Dr. Shepherd, his staff(we love Stephanie!) and his clinic is by far the best. My son enjoys the dentist visits now, and I think that itself is a proof of how great this place is. :-D

Dr. Shepherd and Dr. Anderson are absolutely the best. My daughter was really premie and has had trouble with baby teeth for years. We have been through several procedures from basic cleanings to oral surgery and my daughter has absolutely no fear of the dentist due to their experience and love while we are in the office as well as out of the office. She has beautiful and strong adult teeth coming in thanks to the help and support from these Drs. They have always made sure we are doing ok even on weekends. Each one of the staff are amazing with my kids! If you have little ones you need to be coming here for any dental related needs!

Dr. Shepherd is so great! We originally went to a different pediatric dentist in Orem and I was not happy with his chair side manner or his treatment plan for my 3 year old. So we went here and we were so happy with his evaluation and the procedure went perfectly!

Dr Anderson is the best! Our kids actually enjoy going to the dentist now. He is so friendly and has the best sense of humor with the kids. Can’t imagine going anywhere else!

Back in April my 2 year old fell on cement and pushed one of her front teeth backward. It was a scary Mom moment for me. I took her to Dr. Shepherd in Orem at Pediatric Smiles. I am grateful to knowledgeable dentists such as Dr. Shepherd who gave me the best advice for our situation. My daughters tooth is completely healed like it never happened. I’m so grateful for this dentist and his staff.

This was easily the best pediatric dental office we have been to. Our previous office was ok but I didnt realize what a difference there could be. Dr Anderson was SO good with my kids. He just has a natural talent with kids and I was very impressed. He talked with me about everything and was very friendly and professional. It almost felt like talking with an old friend! He gave advice as a dentist and as a father of his own kids. The staff was terrific and my kids felt so special. THANK YOU!!

Dr. Shepherd and his Staff are truly family. We have been going since they opened. They have watched my children grow and provided my family with exceptional care. My youngest has special needs and he is great to go the extra mile to make sure that she is comfortable and also to give me a extra boost when Im at the end of my rope. I have been through many pediatric dentists and have never been to one with so much dedication and care for his patients and families as Dr. Shepherd. He remembers the little things about whats going on in my kids lives and is so excited to celebrate their milestones too! We love our visits and the kids try to get cavities just to spend more time there. We dont have to look for a better, more honest dentist! Get your kiddos in asap! He truly is the best!!

The staff is very friendly. My kids are getting their braces done there. My sons case has been a little tricky and frustrating (probably just as much for the staff as well as myself) but theyve always been very responsive and easy to work with and I appreciate that! The only thing I found a little difficult was that ortho appointments are only on Thursdays, but come January 2020 this will be changing as they are opening more days and adding another orthodontist to the team.

Been going here for 7 yrs & have always been happy with the service but today it was extra fun by painting my daughters fingernails after her cavity was filled.

When we had a small dental emergency and when we called in, from the start everyone was very helpful. They were able to fit us in to the schedule the same day. Everyone was really nice the whole time we were there. My daughter whos only 3 had a great experience and we will definitely be back.

My kids thought their first dental visit was magical! The staff was so friendly and the office was so perfectly planned for children. I was so impressed with how quickly they got us in and out-30 minutes for two kids! And my kids honestly wanted to stay longer playing in the lobby.

This is the only dentist Ive taken my kids to, at the recommendation of my sister, and I dont regret it! Thanks to their amazing staff, and set up, my kids have always had a great experience at the dentist and arent scared of going! They actually love it! At our last visit Bri helped us, and she was so helpful and friendly with my kids. My son especially loved her, he thought she was tons of fun!
