I was a maintenance technician at this property who lived on property. This company is setup to benefit themselves in every way possible. When I moved onto property. I noticed that I the carpet was cleaned and not replaced. I wasn’t upset about it because it was clean. I had a $525 deposit that was taken from me to replace the carpet, water, sewer, trash. I completely Painted/ Maintenance, cleaned the unit so well that the carpet was the only thing that needed to be done for another resident to move in. They charge you for the parking sticker that they have you put on your vehicle.Somehow a receipt was provided that I had new carpet in my unit when I moved in. I’ve been in this industry for a while and I know what new, and used/cleaned carpet looks like. The company is still wanting the $59 that I still owe after my deposit was taken. I’m going to pay it because I don’t want it on my credit, but to be completely honest. “I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to live on this property or any other Management Support Properties. To the office staff, I do not want a BS reply. You can save the time and work on all the other complaints. I worked hard for over a year and a half without a penny raise and made sure things were kept up on the property, but this seems like retaliation because I decided to leave the company. If anyone decides to rent here, all I can say is. “Just wait, you’ll find out EXACTLY what I’m talking about.
Loved staying at this complex it was a great place to call home. Maintenance and management were both very polite and helpful whenever I needed help. The units are very beautiful and based on all of the other added amenities you really get your moneys worth. The only feedback i would give is that i wish they had more than one pool.
Currently renting and it’s been an absolute nightmare. There are roaches in the kitchen we reported it and we were told exterminators come every Thursday and we would be put on a list for them to stop by. Thursday came and went no exterminator but a note was left on our door saying that someone stopped by and did a treatment. Not true. We’ve resorted to placing all our foods in plastic containers rather then utilize the cabinets as well as our dishes and cooking supplies. Even with our own sprays and the precautions we’ve taken they come out from behind the fridge and stove onto the countertops and into the cabinets and drawers. At night it’s even worse! We haven’t dared to utilize the kitchen at this point since moving in. We reported it 2 additional times to management and were told maintenance would be stopping by no one ever came. The next day we personally went into the office and spoke with someone and again told we’d be put on a list for the exterminator. Doesn’t seem like management cares very much which is even more frustrating.
Well well... I must say I do love the amenities here. If youre the type of person that likes looks over the comfort of living in your apartment then this is your go to place. Warning to future resident. Request 3rd floor as if you are on the 1st and or 2nd floor the walls/ceiling are paper thin and you will hear everything above you if you are a quiet sleeper. As far as everything else I loved it here during my time here. Some residents need to learn to pick up after there dogs and you get your youth from time to time jumping the fence to swim in the pool. I do like that they have courtesy patrol here to keep tabs on the people in the pool and other things around the complex. NOTE to management: with all the rent increases and charges around the complex tenants should have fair use of the amenities and not feel shut out of there own things that they are paying all the rent towards. Pool hours should be extended at the very least on the weekends. Why pay almost $2,000 for rent and not have the ability to utilize the pool. You should just start charging fees for tenants that misuse the pool to incur violations instead of penalizing everyone else that pays rent equally to live in the complex. Overall this complex is nice and lowkey.
Beautiful Apartments!!! I can only speak of my experience moving here. They recently opened a new building a few weeks back, the leasing staff has been very kind & accommodating. My place is beautiful and well built. I’ve experienced no issues and the community seems quiet and pretty full. Couple minor things I’ve noticed though. 1. Front gates can be a hassle for guests coming in, you either have to tail gate someone who lives here or try to figure out the pin pad thing which has an endless lists of names 2. I meticulously read all of the previous reviews and have noticed some crickets outside at night but it is monsoon season and they really weren’t a nuisance. 3. The complex is very full and I have noticed a few sketchy looking people walking around so if you remember to lock your doors and look both ways you should be fine! (the Mesa Police Station is literally like 500 feet to the west). I look forward to spending the next year here!
The hot water for the shower was broken for a month and no one was willing to come and fix. Thank goodness we had a second bathroom because if we didn’t we would have been paying to live in a place that provided freezing cold showers. At least we had a shower in the first place- but why pay for a place that doesn’t work... Wouldn’t recommend. Front office only cares about collecting money and does not care about residents well being.
I just signed my second 12 month lease and have read the reviews and would like to add my observations. One, we did get hit with ants in June/July but with the pandemic I just bought ant spray, both liquid and sprayed both outside door frames that fixed it, but am still paying $3 a month for pest control. A bigger issue are the add-ons per month ($13 for valet garbage whether you use it or not) and $3 for package drop off service (which I use all the time) plus $3 parking, plus water, sewer for me it adds up to nearly $100 a month and $1450/month in reality is $1550. My biggest complaint is the front gate. All of us are getting 10x the deliveries we used to, and there is no code for the gate. You have to take your fob in but only one phone can be attached to it, it is such a pain many residents have no code and PATIENT delivery people just follow someone in, but if we are going to allow that, then just leave the gate open in the day time, MesaPD is our next door neighbor. OR send us all a gate code. We have one for the package pickup. Besides that, I really like the apartment-- its big and sunny. I am on first floor and I never hear my neighbors through the walls (outside you can hear). I work online very early in the morning and have asked neighbors if they can hear me talking at 3 am, and they say no, so I dont think the noise complaints are valid. I attached a photo of a first floor patio (smoking area for me).
They are scammers the love to change paper work out from under you and they lie in your move out inspection and I caught them in the act multiple times. Absolutely do not move here!!!!!
They are scammers!!!! They don’t follow up on scheduled walk thurs and then charge you for things you didn’t do! Don’t rent here!!!
I am a current Resident here at the Southern Villas I am 6+ months in to my current lease. I will say that the maintenance crew is awesome and some of the office staff. When it comes to the Apartment Manager I have asked to speak with her on numerous occasions with no success. Ive tried walking into the office and to speak with her. When doing so I could see her in the office but she still couldnt talk and she would get back to me ASAP. Ive also tried other means of contacting her a total of 5+ times and still no success. The only time I have been able to talk to her is when they sent me a Vacate for Non-Payment email which my records show I have yet to be late on one payment. This to me is very disconcerting because that fact that the only time in 6+ months of trying to speak with the property management. The one chance I get to speak to management is when they wrongfully send me a vacate for non payment. Also disconcerting is that they are evicting people for possibly one late payment during this World Pandemic that we are in. This could be my deciding factor on not renewing my lease because of one the lack of follow through with the property management. Two they are quick to evict people during and devastating pandemic that we are in to me this is morally unsound. I hope with this review people can have a look at what this property is doing before they make their decision. Please stay healthy and safe thank you. Also because I cant post another review this is something else that I have come across. They call themselves Luxury Apartments when this is what I found out with my washer. When you see them post a reply its just to perceive that they did something about it. In reality they do absolutely nothing Do not move here.
Horrible all around DO NOT RENT FOR THEM!!! From the Gated community never worked, to the every week 2-5 cop cars sat in the complex. I felt very unsecure while living there and I quested who I was living with? This is NOT a luxury apartment!! You will pay a cleaning fee but the unit will still be fifthly. I would not recommend living here if you have young children unless you like, your children watching people leave your complex on stretchers and 5 cop cars sit outside. Be wary!!!
We paid rent on Jan 1 and got our confirmation payment receipt, however the office waited 7 days to tell us we were late and that they never got the payment. First off this is wrong why not let your resident know first business day Monday Jan4. Second they said we had to sign a doc saying we received notice which we will not be signing because we didn’t get notice until today .Then they laugh at us like it’s funny in the middle of a pandemic to tell a hard working family oh yeah we never got your payment and we need additional from you as well. My grandmother is in a home and is diagnosed with COVID and is going to die soon and these people think it’s funny to laugh at us stressing that we did pay it and never got any notice until today. Those ladies were so rude over the phone and in person. This is by far the most disgusting behavior. The money I was going to use to send my family to help with my grandmother expenses will now be used to pay an unlawful late fee. DO NOT MOVE HERE !
18 months here. The property developed THE WORST ant infestation Ive ever seen as if they had just stopped spraying for bugs entirely. They have generally poor maintenance. They pulled all the usual move out scams to claim as much as they could of the deposit. Front office employees are helpful, but the management is cheap and frankly not interested in doing better. I highly do not recommend.
Dont mind the 1 star reviews, they are from people who didnt read the contract or they broke the rules and had to face the consequences. That being said my stay here has been nothing but pleasant, neighbors and staff are kind, the place is beautiful and well kept. Security is here if you need it but they arent trying to ruin someones day, plus they are mostly off duty cops. The only reason I dont give it 5 stars is because management can be hard to get a hold of once in a while. Nothing crazy, but typically its hard to get a call back from them if you leave a message. So just keep calling until you talk to someone, it never took me more than 2 calls for them to pick up. Overall Id recommend this place to someone looking to move to the area
I have been here for going on 3 year and have had decent interactions with residents, staff, and management. So lets get to why the 1 star... today I call to pay Nov. rent plus late fees. I call to get the total and I am told its $125 more than what I usually pay. When I inquire about the increased cost I was told by Office Manager(Leanne) that corporate went back to charging this late fee. I then questioned why tenants werent given a notice this fee was reactivated and she said they suspended it as a courtesy. WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC, Covid patient numbers are rising in the hospitals, and I get an eviction notice for not having the extra $125 for a fee you suspended but decided to reactivate this month. The fact that I work in Healthcare in a hospital and at a rehab facility is stressful enough. I have to deal with Covid everyday I go to work and hope I dont bring it back to my family or catch it myself. Now because I dont have the addition $125 late fee that none of the tenants were updated about you are ready to take me to court for eviction. Let me state again I have a money order for $1450, my rent is $1303, (with late fees), you are now saying I owe over $1500+.So I asked for corporates number and I was told they dont have a number and gave me an email. Then I asked for a name of corporate and she gave me the email address again.I am a single parent, working 2 jobs (in HEALTHCARE), going to school. Property management can be a disappointment. But this situation IS a disappointment.
I recently moved out of Southern Avenue Villas. The apartments are nice and the leasing staff will seem nice BUT they are lairs. When I first moved they advised they were adding more parking. I was there for a year and there was no parking added. The maintenance staff will always park in your parking spot as well as other tenants and the leasing office wont do anything about it. There was always trash in the parking lots. And the icing on the cake, after moving out they tried to charge me $500 for so call diamantés but I have photos taken the day I moved out showing the apartment was left in excellent condition. They are fraudulent and not to be trusted. My next steps will be to contact the BBB and Attorney General
This is really a great place and the staff and employees go above and beyond to help. James the maintenance man and James in the office are both excellent in customer service and are genuinely helpful and kind. My car stopped working right in the parking lot, and James the maintenance man came right to my aid ( and stood in the blazing heat for a good 20 minutes) and helped me with the car. James from the office also helped! I am really grateful for their kindness, and they definitely both deserve to be recognized for that!
For numerous reasons people in the office need more training. A lot of training...We were going to rent this apartment for one month only.we asked the guy from the Office like 20 times if I credit will be checked because we are in the process of getting a house and that will damage the credit score,he said no, credit wont be run. only a background check which we didnt have a problem with, we find out they did run the credit. we decided not to rent this place and its been a month and I havent received my money back I keep calling the office and they just gave me a run around.
AVOID this place. You have been warned.
Wow! If I could give this place a negative 5 I would absolutely do it. Ive been a resident here for about a year and a half and this lease cannot come to an end fast enough! We have recently started seeing ROACHES in the past few months and have made every effort to not only rid them ourselves but weve also worked with the leasing office to get rid if them too. Weve recently welcomed our new born premature daughter to the world and she has VERY sensitive skin. That being said although weve fogged and so has the professional pest control as well as sprayed TWICE, we arent interested in having it done again as it bothers our daughters skin.Leasing was supposed to have an inspection done of the units around us to find the source of the roaches but never did and lied about it. The pest control guy himself told us they never inspected. They are refusing to move us into a different unit after several attempts to rid the roaches from the unit. And even sent US A BILL for the pest control services.Even the pest control has said that we shouldnt be seeing them anymore. Leasing does NOT care about us,the moment we signed the lease everything changed.DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Just moved in! I am impressed with this beautiful property. The amenities are amazing and my apartment is absolutely stunning. The view on the back side of the building facing extension is gorgeous as well. I have had one maintenance request and it was followed up with promptly.
Great property. Well kept and clean. The office staff are friendly and always helpful. Don’t get the reviews especially the people who have never seen the place
This company bribed me to remove my original review, my only agreement was that I am not changing the 1 star rating. I was paid to remove the written part of the review, thank you for reading.
See update. Original: I would give zero stars if I could. After getting a notice that I had a package, I came in at 6:02, and saw them inside. One worker, Christina, OPENED the door to tell me she couldn’t get it for me. Why open the door then? Just tell me politely to come back, no need to be rude, and open the door but not give the package to me. When I asked for their names, Christina even said to me, “Do you want me to tell management?” in a snide tone of voice. So, obviously, she knows enough to know that management does not care. So many horrible reviews, yet nothing changes, they don’t care. Horrible management, dirty place, smells like marijuana and nothing is done when I contact management about the smell. DO NOT live here.Update: I did receive an email from management, which I greatly appreciate. A few office staff workers are really nice and I appreciate their kindness.
I have lived here since August 2016. The units are nice and the grounds are USUALLY kept clean. Inside the unit, you can tell it was a bit of a rushed job. The laminate counters and flooring began to separate not too long after moving in. THEY WILL FINE YOU FOR ANY AND EVERYTHING THEY CAN. Their great customer service ends as soon as you sign the lease.
Enjoying it here so far! been here a year. love it.
You cannot park here if your car is not Aesthetically Pleasing. The hood of the car has paint that is faded and to them they said our car will get towed if it park in the complex. Not to mention the car functions properly, does not make excessive noise, and does not have any problems with oil stains etc. Many other people got this as well. I hope their management considered the concept that aesthetically pleasing and very subjective.
Worst customer service ever. We applied. Said they needed additional information. Sent it. Didn’t hear back. Emailed asking if she got the information. She said no. Wouldn’t you think she’d reply saying she didn’t get it? No. We had to ask. Then sent it again. Waited 3 more days. No response. During that time we looked elsewhere. Found a place. Went back to them A WEEK LATER to cancel. Then her saying we are preapproved. Told her we wanted our money back. Of course that’s a no. Now fighting to get my $200 back.Glad I back out before moving in. I can only imagine how their customer service is when your a resident.Would never recommend this place to anyone let alone a friend.
I have been living here for a year now. I have had no problems with management, staff or neighbors. The gals in the office are very nice and understanding and always do their best to resolve any situations I may have. The complex is nice and amenities are great. Others complain about kids running around, but I am a single mom and I appreciate that there are kids for my son to play with. Yes, kids can get into mischief at times but I am thankful they have a place to run around and be kids. Just have to take some things with a grain of salt sometimes. Nothing in life is perfect. I do smell marijuana at times, but that is to be expected these days. People are just going to have to accept that its going to be 100% legal soon and it will be just as common to smell weed at times as it is watching people drink alcohol at the pool or on their decks.
‼️‼️🚫ABSOLUTE GARBAGE ‼️‼️❌If there was an option to give a negative star this apartment complex would definitely be a -5! They have hidden fees within the lease that are absolutely unreasonable . If you call the police you automatically get a $300 dollar fine!! For what?? Because the police department doesn’t charge to go out to a residence! They get you for every little thing have a dirty door, there’s a fine! You have household things on your patio/balcony that are not to their standards boom another fine! We were planning on staying longer, signing a lease going into a two bedroom but that won’t be the case! Dealing with management is the upmost ridiculous. Manager(Leanne) is extremely unprofessional and arrogant with no will to help her tenants. She has completely failed at doing her job alongside with all of the office staff!Definitely don’t recommend this complex for anyone! Its made to look beautiful but every single thing is cheap with a nice exterior. A good month will pass by while you wait for maintenance to come fix your problem! Worst customer service, they treat you as a paycheck not as a person who lives there and would genuinely want to help you instead they turn their back on you. You will never get a hello from any staff upon walking into the office! DON’T SIGN A LEASE HERE!!
I have never lived in a complex or home that was as nice as this place. Everyone is so friendly and awesome to deal with. From the office poeple to the maintenance crew! I’m getting ready to renew my lease and so excited about it! I feel so blessed to call this my place of residence and home
Upon doing the application and putting a hold on an apartment I called in and talked to a lady named Hailey, who was really nice, and explained my position and what I needed to get into the apartment.Hailey explained everything to me about what I needed, how the complex worked and about all the fees.I requested a tour of the apartments for that day.Once there my husband and I toured the apartment. It was very nice and we checked out the two bed two bath and the three bed two bath. Both were very spacious and actually really cozy.Once out into the parking lot my husband explained his situation and it was received by Hailey with mix feelings. My husband decided to apply for the apartment on Haileys recommendation because she made it seem like he had a chance.Once applied, he was denied but it is what they had on their Tenant Selection Criteria that made him wonder. The Tenant Selection Criteria says that they dont apply a credit score number but that proved to be a lie. The person on the phone that he talked to said that it is whats behind the credit score. It also says that they dont use rent to income ratio to determine eligibility but that also was a lie because of what it said on the third party background check that he received through email.I am writing this because if you are suckered into applying for an apartment just beware. Lots of stipulations and the employees will try to give you hope but know that you will not qualify because of certain things that will pop up when they do a complete background check.Once I am free and clear of all my debt I will not be applying at any of these apartments under this corporate bubble and i will find some where else to move and give my hard earn cash too.P.S. that apartment has been there since spring of 2016 and still looks quite empty.
Just reading the reviews of the residents true experiences here are enough to make me NOT bother to even go see these apartments. The biggest issue that I see is that EVERY single complaint posted here (and they ALL appear to be LEGITIMATE & VALID ISSUES) are answered with a canned message about how sorry they are that you had a bad experience. It sounds like management uses no common sense and no understanding when dealing with specific issues. Most appalling to me was the woman was a victim of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE and even though she had a policy report to show that she filed a complaint against the person, SHE received a fine from the building management!! ABSURD!!And, the other review that concerned me was that they advertise as being dog/pet friendly and have a dog park, etc. But, a residents friend brought their leashed dog into an area (by mistake - the pool area) and even though the dog did nothing to create a disturbance or soil the pool area, the resident was FINED for having a dog in an area where dogs are not allowed. The owner removed the leashed dog from the pool area immediately as they did not realize that they were breaking any rules (sign saying no dogs was not prominently displaced), but the resident was fined a ridiculous fee for what I see as NOTHING!! If the dog had remained after the owner was told to leave, I could see a fine being levied. That did not happen here.Again, management seems to have absolutely NO COMMON SENSE when dealing with residents on an individual basis. You cant treat people like they are all the same - people are not the same. Use some common sense when dealing with your residents and you wont be seeing these nasty reviews on your website. Whatever happened to businesses caring about their customers and apartments caring about their residents?BTW, I had to give them ONE STAR or I couldnt post my comments here!
You cant please everyone, i havent ran into any of the issues people complain about after 2 months here. I love this place no issues, very nice community, nice people. Amenities are great.
One afternoon we heard a gunshot outside our window, went to look out the window, and saw a man gunned down by 4 police officers. Right outside our window on the 1st floor. 2 police cars proceeded to stage out an apartment above us all night long. I felt the need to stay at a hotel that night because it wasnt safe enough for us to stay there with that going on. This is the one extreme event that definitely had us move, but there were a lot of other events that contributed our desire to move. I emailed the management and asked to talk about my concern for safety in the complex, but of course they never emailed me back. Lots of safety concerns, even though it is gated
Seriously... I pay 1600 plus a month... Half the residents are ghetto and take over most amenities with their friends and family. The smell of constant weed is a daily issue I face. The cabinet and counter tops are garbage. They fine you when ever they are able. This place is not worth what you pay to live here.
‼️‼️ MUST READ: Southern Avenue Villas SUPPORTS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ‼️‼️‼️Before moving in, I read the reviews but still decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. This will be the LAST time I ever do that..Approximately two weeks ago, I was a victim of domestic violence and received a note on my door a couple days ago for a fine of $200! ..What for? For causing a “disturbance.” I wasn’t throwing a party or playing loud music, my life was in danger! After explaining to the front office that I was a victim and called 911 because my life was in danger, the employees had the audacity to blame ME, the victim, although I had a police report. They claim that the Mesa Police Department charges the apartment complex for being here. After calling the Mesa Police Department & the officers who were at the scene, I confirmed & recorded the phone call where they stated that the information I was given, was false. The employees at the front office also said that the lease clearly states that a resident will be fined if they cause a disturbance so “I should have read my lease.” Which, I did. I would understand if I was being loud but I was in genuine danger. AND this took place INSIDE the apartment. None of neighbors knocked on my door because you can’t hear through the walls. The employees at the front office were very rude & didn’t care to understand. They tilted their heads so far the side when I spoke to them that I was concerned they’d hurt their necks. PLEASE DON’T SIGN A LEASE HERE. Look for a place where you won’t be fined for calling 911 when you’re life is in danger! & most important, not blame a victim for the abuse they received. I’ve only lived here a month & have had no prior problems. I was so excited to move in but now I see that they fool use with fake smiles to get us to sign. It saddens me to see that this beautiful community is okay with putting even more distress on a victim than what they have already been through just for a couple extra bucks.‼️‼️‼️‼️READ ALL THE REVIEWS!‼️‼️‼️‼️PLEASE SCREENSHOT & SHARE. NO ONE DESERVES TO BE TREATED LIKE THIS.
If I could give a negative star, I would. This apartment complex looks beautiful, but every single thing is cheap with a nice exterior. This complex has hidden fees within the lease that are absolute ludicrous. I hate living here and dealing with the conniving management that doesn’t care about you: just charging you more to live there. We had a 14 month lease that began 10/28/17. Fast forward to now, they emailed us a month ago that rent was going up and that we just had to pay more even though we signed a lease at the price we originally anticipated. They also incur random fees, such as a $29 fee for switching your payment method on the rent payment website, and a “door cleaning” fee. They also don’t allow you to decorate your porch, or leave brooms or mops. When you are in violation of any of these obscure terms, they send nasty emails to the whole complex about the violations. Not only that, but our hard wood floors aren’t real wood. They have big problems separating with normal wear from the edge of the carpeting. The doors are off centered and breaks the handles. The washer and dryer are just low quality appliances, our microwave also broke within a month of living in the apartment.Keep in mind: we aren’t going out of our way to destroy our appliances and flooring. We walk without shoes on, we try to be observant of how we treat our place. It isn’t us, but to be blunt, they built these to be beautiful and cheap. So if you want an apartment to fall apart, and if you want random fees every other month live here.
Beautiful, I love it It has beeen an awesome experience and I cant wait to invite more of my family to sign a lease here soon
Please do not move into this complex community unless you want service request employees i.e maintenance to enter your apartment without your permission. I have expressed several times to not enter my home if Im not present. Wendy the apartment manager has proven to be unhelpful when approached. When you first move in everything is beautiful and great. Here I am 8 months later with a broken shower, cabinets and cracking walls. Please save your money and the headache.
If you want an apartment with thin walls and I mean THIN. If you want an apartment complex that is stuffing people in here like rats. If you want an apartment complex that is money hungry and is filled with evil people working there...Then come on down to this terrible place to live. Come pay over $1000 a month to live in dorm like conditions. Aesthetics aside, this place is terrible to live in. In fact: they are so terrible in the lease they threaten you with fines if you post negative reviews about them...The truth is if they added another inch of Sheetrock or something to these walls it would be a much better place to live. But management harasses you. And the walls are thin and they overcharge you. They will charge you $20 if you don’t clean your front door; in an open air corridor in the desert ....Don’t move here. Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE ELSE.
Wow.... this place is garbage!! Walked around and literally everywhere we went smelled like weed!!! Kids riding scooters up and down the hallways making soooooo much noise!! Forget about relaxing on your day off! That wont happen at this place, nor can you leave any windows open for fresh air!! Totally ghetto and inconsiderate people live here. Definitely find somewhere else to live!! Unless you want to live in hell!
I dont understand why people are complaining here. People complain about everything. Ive moved in almost a month ago and my family is happy here. The staff is friendly and there are always grounds people cleaning the complex everyday. Everywhere I go there is someone who is maintaining the complex. I would stop listening to every negative comment here. This is a great complex to live and I been happy since my move. Best move Ive made!
I drive past them, I am sure they are nice, but I didnt visit
Moved in a year ago. The staff that was there at the time was great and one of the major reasons I moved in. Additionally, I have terrible credit and they were accommodating.Yes, they have unreasonable fines, be careful with that. However, maintenance is wonderful and fixes any issue immediately. The current apartment manager is professional and helps when needed. There have been a few staff members less than pleasant, but don’t last long. They do have high turnover, as I’ve noticed.I like living here and so does my daughter.
Took a tour of the apts. very nice staff! Clean grounds! Apts seem very clean and up to date! Only thing is the dirty grill! Price is little high I think for the area. You’re looking at about $1,230 for 2Bedroom.
Nothing is wrong people just complain because they are irresponsible, you do get charged if you call police 👮♀️ but that is a good thing they want to limit domestic calls or any crime at all.... I love it here
This place may look nice, but it has terrible customer service, and will find a reason to charge you around every turn. They treat you as a pay check, not as someone who actually lives there, they will turn there back on you before helping you. Never would I suggest anyone to live here. They may look better than the other surrounding areas, but dont let the looks like. They are just as ugly and bad on the inside.
Beautiful and new property. Moved here in December 2016. Staff is friendly and helpful. New complexes often have growing pains - this one is no different. Dishwasher wasnt connected when I first moved in. Maintenance fixed it quickly. Thermostat also didnt work. Again, service call was responded to right away. Didnt like that I was fined $25 for not moving my car during lot repaving. Note was left on my door week before and email sent night before at 8pm which I didnt see til next day. Note on door didnt specify which day my section would be repaved. Protested but paid it. Next repavement received a call from management night before. Good service. Fines and accountability are needed to keep things under control. Read the lease agreement. It lets you know the rules! I think its silly to close the club house with pool table and community tv room when the office is closed. This gives very little time for people who work regular office hours and/or weekends to utilize the clubhouse. Makes no sense. We are grown ups. Overall its a great place to live. Sarah, Olivia, Dara and Lianne work hard and do a great job! Benjamin patrols the grounds and keeps things looking good.
Im gonna update this. Ill leave my original review on the bottom. Here I am 6 months later and I hate it. They approve anybody and I have horrible neighbors that are loud and have no respect for anybody. Its an apartment complex not a house. No control over kids, weed everywhere, and its dirty. So sad. The longer Im here the worse it gets. The people that are moving in here are getting worse. Dont move in here.Original review 06/2017People complain too much on here, let me tell ya. I just moved in and I absolutely love it! The apartment is beautiful and the community is peaceful. Yeah you smell weed sometimes, maybe a piece of trash somewhere random, but its such a beautiful place to live I cant get enough of it. Im so happy to be here. I live on the 3rd floor and its worth every single step up! Lol things will never be good enough to some people so dont over think these negative reviews!! And by the way, they stopped providing paper in the computer room because people kept stealing it!! So they killed that for all the good honorable people.
I have lived here since August and was extremely pleased up until mid April. I had an infestation of what looked like tiny little bees that were eating me alive. When I approached the office with this issue I was offered extermination services with a bed bug inspection, just in case. However, I was not informed that I would be charged 40 dollars for the inspection. When I went in on May 1st to ask about the charge, and show the new 15-20 bug bites I had on my body with scabs and blisters, I was given a shoulder shrug and told that there was nothing they could do about it and the charge was mentioned in the lease.... that I signed in August. Oh, and i was also told “at least it’s not beg bugs...” how very reassuring considering that I was in extreme pain due to the bites from whatever was actually in my apartment. So I called again. Anytime I entered my apartment, I was being bitten. And at this point, my fingers were beginning to swell to the point that I couldn’t even bend them. This time I was told “there’s nothing I can do at the moment, but I will speak with the exterminator tomorrow and get back to you.”Fast forward to now... I have paid for an entire month of rent and utilities on a home a could not safely reside in. I have had to take time off of work because I was so uncomfortable and itchy I could not stand to be in a public setting. I spent over 500 dollars at urgent care and on creams and lotions and medications to try and heal the marks, and now scars, that I have been living with for a month. I have been sending emails almost daily regarding my issue and my need for some sort of reimbursement for all of the time, trauma, and money I have dumped into an issue that is not my responsibility as a renter. There has not been a single sense of urgency regarding this situation and I have been met with little to no empathy. To say that this has been the worst experience would be an understatement. I would not wish this scenario on my worst enemy.I could not be more disappointed with how this has been handled and I am counting down the days until I can move into a community that actually cares about its residents.
Great service, and amenities. Staff is very kind and friendly. An amazing experience so far.
Just wanted to let this property know that I was initially very interested in this community after finding it on Trulia. After reading the negative reviews, I wont be stopping by. I feel a company needs to work harder and sometimes take a hit to avoid negative reviews. 99% of these complaints sound like they could have been avoided if management stepped up. Just wanted to leave my two cents here, because reviews DO matter.
Real bad management, lots of tricks every one tells you a different things I have live in this complex for 1 year and 5 months I have Sean a lot of different employees which means no one is comfortable to work at this complex because of management lots of residents have left because of management lots of mistakes from the management I have put in my 60 days notice because of what’s happening I was going to sign 6 months less but I’m glad I didn’t because of the things that I see and here from residents also because they wanted to rise another $100 dollar and it doesn’t say that on the actual less and they told me that’s very common that happens with all the residence while I am 100% sure That’s some of the residents that wanted to renew their lease there any new debt with no dollars extra but the main thing is there is a racist schism against some specific type of people Wendy she is the manager she does not have respect for no one not even for her self and I know that she was recorded there is videos of her on yelp being rude to her residence and I know that somebody record of her recently and they will post that as soon as it’s the right time I advise everyone to watch out from the tricks of the management in this complex
I moved in when they first opened. We had no issues with the place besides most the ammenties were not available for us unless the office was open and no tvs outside. We loved our apartment and the pool area. The blonde office manager was great to me and very nice. My kids loved the basketball area but we noticed as we were getting ready to move out the cops were at the complex everyday. Otherwise we liked it there
Worst place to live ever!!!! I have lived here since October and wish I never moved in. The staff are awful! And the manager is the worst person to deal with. She screamed at me over a complaint I had. My neighbor smokes pot in his house so my house constantly smells like it and management wont do a thing about it. The place was poorly built and for it being a new place the appliances sure dont seem new. You can hear every conversation your neighbors have. The place is brand new but the grounds are always dirty. There is always trash around the parking lot and people spill stuff all over the stairs. Do not move here you will regret it!!!!!
Very nice place, surprisingly quiet for a large complex.
My boyfriend and I cleaned the apartment entirely before our move out date. We were told we would get a free carpet cleaning when we renewed our lease prior. Before handing in the keys, we did a walk through with maintenance and were repeatedly thanked for doing a great job cleaning the place and were told we would get our deposit back. The carpet had some normal wear from shoes/feet where the couch was, but we were reassured it would be handled with the carpet cleaning that we were promised to be comped. When the final statement came, it said we owed money and wouldn’t be getting any of our money back. I don’t recommend moving here. Bad area, loud/rude neighbors, adults that bang on your doors or push the doorbell repeatedly, and kids running/riding their scooters down the hallways.
Racist community ! Management is so rude and they will invade your privacy if they feel like it . No wifi like they say, get fined for any little thing you do and just want your money . Definitely would not recommend . Also I had my sister over that came with her bf and his brother and they said I couldnt have that Many guest in the common area . Oh and the club house, atleast what was told to me, is $400 to rent for up to 2 hrs, with a $500 deposit . Is this a hall ? 😭 Man . Yall aint even Ashley Taylor 😒
WORST PLACE TO LIVE EVER!!!The apartment complex seems nice when you fist look at them, until you move in and pay attention to detail. Paint chipped, fixtures not placed in right, mold at dog park, so many more things, oh and ANTS! I have made several complaints to the complex and NOTHING! Customer service... nice until they get your money and a month or two goes by then theyre rude. I came home from work to a red letter stuck in my door saying that they were going to evict me because my children were too loud outside. I go to court and they say Im there for non payment (im perplexed at this point), I showed proof that my rent was paid and apparently they rejected my payment, (which I didnt NOT know until court) so the judge ruled in their favor. At this point I have 5 days to leave, I have 3 babies... where am I going to go? I go down to the office to speak to them and they came off straight rude saying I couldnt be there and that I could only communicate to them through writing and for me to leave now. (I recorded this by the way). They said Wendy told them not to speak to me or accept any form of monies that I was being evicted. I expressed this to the judge but I guess because Im a woman of color it doesnt matter what I say. (And yes Im pulling the race card, I have proof that other families of color in this complex received the same treatment). I wouldnt recommend this place to a homeless skunk.
I honestly do not live there, my girlfriends friend does, but I was considering moving there but I’m not so sure about that anymore after an incident. It’s a really nice place and everything but the policies are ridiculous, and the employees show no consideration for their tenants and future tenants. We brought my dog over to the pool area, unaware of the instructions sign which is hidden behind all the trees around the pool area. One of the ladies told me after 20-30 mins of being there, “unfortunately, the cutest puppy in the world can’t be in the pool area” so I said “ok oh I’m sorry I didn’t know” and 𝑰𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒚 walked out with my dog and that was it. A few days later my girlfriends friend gets a fine for $300! For having an unauthorized pet in the pool are and we weren’t even in there for 30 mins, she was leashed, she’s such a good puppy, she’s potty trained, did not pee or pooh anywhere near the pool area, she didn’t even touch the water, and it wasn’t even the tenants dog! It was ours!! Her guests!! And she got fined!! It’s absolutely ridiculous and I understand there’s no leniency but at least change your policies or add some exceptions. The employees need to learn some leniency actually. It’s not like we contaminated the pool area or had her running around or anything, and she was even on the leash. And to top it all off, all the employees did was repeat the policy over and over and did not care about the details and they just simply straight up seemed like they did not wanna deal with our concerns on the fine. I even stated at the beginning that I would pay the fine regardless but we just needed to talk about how ridiculous the policy is and the circumstances in which it happened. I feel like the customer should always be taken care of with a smile and consideration so I would definitely not move in. I’ll keep looking...
Place dares call itself luxury pffff. They need to get their heads checked no respect from the management staff and some people that live in there have no respect for others. Make noise all thru the night and act like its okay. And to top it off management does absolutely nothing about it.
Worst experience ever, the staff are rude and treat you just like a money sign, I recently had guest from work over to study for a test were all taking and one of my co-workers brought her service animal, which I thought would be ok. we where told it could not be in the community center so she asked should she leave, I said no so we where told we could sit outside and study which we did. Next day I receive a notice for a $300 fee for a unauthorized pet visit which was a (service dog) and the owner had her papers, I was told by the manager I should have givin advance notice that animal was coming so she could get the owners permission, keep in mind never knew my co-worker would bring her pet and that service animals need advance notice to visit.
Great living experience all around! Highly recommend this place.
Moved here in April 2018. The first month of living in the complex was nice. Maintenance is pretty efficient. The property is clean most of the time. Although, I did notice right away when signing my lease that the staff was unprofessional and rude. Once all moved in, there werent as many people using the amenities. I could go to the pool without having to hear loud music and unsupervised kids. Since then, I can never go to the pool without hearing screaming kids and loud music. There is always a group of ghetto kids playing outside until 10/11 PM everyday. The people above me are up all hours of the day and night making noise. The gas grill around the complex is usually really dirty and out of propane. It is now August and the staff is rude and no one in the office seems to have a clue. They just implemented parking passes for guests. Guest passes are only good for one night according to the Manager Wendy, but several other staff said 3 days then 30 days. Which is it?? We already live in a gated community, so why inconvenience us with parking passes and threaten to tow our guests vehicles. Ridiculous! Its a waste of paper!I am very disappointed mainly in the office staff for lack of professionalism and not making my concerns a priority. I will not be extending my lease in October.Ps, if you are looking to speak to the main manager, goodluck, because she is hard to get a hold of and leaves early on Fridays.Thankyou :)
Recently moved my daughter into this apartments for college. Theres no wifi in the common areas, and the internet in the business center can only be accessed from the desktop computers, which is very slow and not conducive to doing homework. The common area where the TV is and the game room close between 5:00 and 6:00pm during the week and the weekends, which is very disappointing considering one of the reasons why I chose this complex as I wanted her to be somewhere she could spend time outside of her apartment. Ill likely be looking for another place for her when the lease is up.
I had to have the management company served with a legal notice to stop the random entry into my apartment. The office staff is rude and the other posts here are entirely accurate when they say all this complex does is try to suck more money out of you. Will not be renewing.UPDATE: Have since moved out but the legal notice did not stop the random entry.
The paper thin walls are perfect for nosy neighbors who want to be able to listen in on every conversation!Seriously, I can hear babies crying from at least two units over.
Currently living here and absolutely hate it!!! The walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors every move. The office staff are rude and never do anything to help. For instance we have a crack on our wall right down the middle of our living room wall. Four months since we moved in and nothing has been fixed. We have also been charged for the dirty halls in front of our door which btw we didnt do. There is glue from the floor tiles that wont go away. We can not wait to move out!!! The apartments are SOOOOO overpriced.
I was 11 cents short on my rent because i was chared more for water so i asked them if i could pay with my card they said no so i told them i would be back and the office closes at 6 I was literly there at 6:02 minutes after closing hours with no one was there i had literly left the office just about 8 minutes before coming back and i even advised them i would be back so now i have to pay late fee because they didcided not to wait for me i literly had left at 5:55 and they were even rude after i asked them i was having trouble with my gate key they told me you should go get the money order and when you come back we will help you
Complained about basketball nets hanging off the rim like its a public playground, management did nothing but tell me why it happened, to be honest IDC about how it happened....JUST FIX IT! Complaints about ppl stomping above me (like its the ghetto) and ants outside my apt go unoticed, apparently nothing has been done.....overall I thought moving into a place with higher than average rent would be like living with luxuries...the only luxury I have here is the luxury of taking my time finding a better place ....word to the wise, what sometimes glitter isnt Gold..enough said
By definition, these are not villas. Quit trying to jazz it up dirt!
After reading all these bad reviews. I can say it’s safe to not move in.
I have had no issues with the property management or staff so far. The buildings and grounds look amazing at all times.
Absolutely hate the place. Grounds are filthy and my stairs are disgusting from cigarettes, juice spills trash..uuugh Im embarrassed to have people over. AC unit broke and they put stupid blower in my window for 2 days that tripped my breaker box every hour. I have lived here 6 months and they charged me an extra $1100 for my DUI on my record.... then told me I couldnt renew because my credit report is unsatisfactory. Lol sooo I asked why they let me in? They could not answer. And the garbage bins are always over flowing and people throw their trash around it!! Omg.Also only 1 pool for this big ass complex its always packed with little kids in the jacuzzi yukk probably peeing
THIS PLACE SUCKS ITS THE 2 TIME MY DRYER DOSE NOT WOrK THE MANAGER SUCKS THE OFFICE PPL SUCK DO NOT MOVE IN TO THIS APPT THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT AND TO EXPENSIVE FOR THE TYPE OF SERVICE THEY PROVIDE........
At first everything seemed great the staff was really nice. Especially one (colored girl) i dont recall her name but she was the one who helped us out and was always super nice. The other ladys olivia and an older lady wendy maybe her name not sure were rude whenever i went it to ask for stuff as in help. Later on they removed the paper from the office room where we are alowed to use the computers. I needed to print something asap. Just on sheet of paper and olivia didnt want to give my boyfriend paper. She said they no longer provided it which whats the point to have computers and printer if they dont provide paper. Which for the price we were paying for rent (over $1,000) thats bull! Our ac broke down a few months after move in we were burning up kn there. But i wouldnt recomend this place. Thestaff. 👎🏻 the apartments itself were nice. But other than that. Nopee!
We were planning on moving down to the Phoenix area from northern Utah because my husband got a job at GoDaddy. We stayed in the La Quinta next to these apartments on our trip down for my husbands interview and figured we could check out the apartments in our spare time.Southern Avenue Villas is a gated community that is almost brand new. Although the apartments looked great, we had a couple of concerns.1. Management took over a week to approve our application. We submitted an application on Saturday, then even called to make sure they had everything, which they said they did. On Monday, they called and told us they needed some documents for our cat, so we sent those over first thing Tuesday morning. It took until FRIDAY to get them to approve us. From Tuesday to Friday, they didnt ask for any other documents or anything. They were just taking their time. One of the staff members told us on Thursday that they would have a decision by the end of the business day. I called at 5:45 (15 min before they close) to see if there was an update. This is word for word the conversation:Me: I was just calling for an update because you told us you would have a decision for us by 6Her: It isnt 6 yet and I have been with a residentThey ended up not being able to make a decision (go figure) by Thursday and it ended up taking until later Friday for them to give us an answer. Also, each time I called and asked a question or for an update, I would ask them to give me a call back (because my husband was working graves and would sleep during the day). I NEVER got a call back. Each time, even though I had called and talked to them, they called my husband. Normally this wouldnt bug me, but it felt like they were purposefully avoiding talking to me and as a result, was interuppting my husbands sleep schedule.BIGGEST HEADACHE. We basically decided just based off of how they were treating us, we werent interested in living there.2. We couldnt see the actual floor plan of the apartment until we moved in. With traditional floor plans, this wouldnt bug me. But the only floor plan they had available was a triangle shape in the master bedroom. We had no clue if our bedroom set would even fit in the apartment. My husband ended up getting a job in Salt Lake City, which was much closer to home. Although we had been out of the grace period to get our holding fee back, they asked us to fill out a refund form with our card information to give our holding fee back to us. After filling out and sending the form back, they said I made a mistake. I sent your form up to my accounting dept and they pointed out that you guys had been approved but changed your mind about moving in. We do not give refunds in this scenario. This just goes to show how little their staff thinks things through. I felt like I was dealing with teenagers.Overall, the apartments are nice, management SUCKS, and the application process is a HUGE headache. I dont know how it would have been if we decided to move in, but I am just glad we didnt.
Thanks for the reviews I thought about checking this place out when my lease was up at my current place. But when reading these reviews sounds like a nightmare from hell.
Pretty nice.
I dont know what pesticides youre using, but i just saw 6 bees dying on the ground on my way to the gym. Just pull the damn weeds out.
Worse staff ever! They would careless about you!
Great location.
Hell reading all the negative comments I must say I don’t see it or have I heard it so for my money I’m feeling I’m at HOME THE staff has shown me to be well train in courtesy and my neighbors so far respect full.
Very nice
A pig in lipstick!
The worst the worst,
