I was surprised to see this building with such raving reviews because in just a little under a year it had a 2/3 star rating with horrible reviews. Makes you wonder if these great reviews have been paid for.The hallways smell bad and the carpets are very old. The apartment building as a whole is not maintained well. There are constant issues, such as microwaves that just stop working, bathroom sinks & tubs which consistently clog up, washing & drying machines which dont work, and they have been modernizing one of the only two available elevators for weeks. The other elevator isnt working properly and you can only imagine the waiting period for a building with 16 floors and just one, kind of, working elevator. The parking is not as secure as claimed because a scary guy followed me right in to the parking and no one came to help. I had to try to fend him off myself. And since they allow all pet owners to let their pets urinate, the entire outside smells just like that. They spray it down but whats a bit of water going to do for all those urine stains. And the worst part is the homeless community are in every corner of this residence making it a bit uneasy. Thats just a few things. The only bright side to this building are the wonderful reception staff. Not management, reception only and cleaning crew.

Came to tour a studio, for the price tag i wouldnt say its worth the trouble. Go for a tour and take note of the smell during your walk to a unit, youll know what Im talking about. For a unit thats to be shown to potential residents i would hope its given a quick look over the morning of to make sure its presentable, the unit i looked at had dried urine all over the bathroom. Hallways are depressingly dark and the carpet is old. The only pros i saw in the property were its secure parking for residents, pool area and the location. Drive around the area and youll see plenty of other apartments advertising availability, check them out, Ill be doing the same.

I lived at the Renaissance Tower for over 2 years and absolutely loved it. It was the best, most responsive maintenance team Ive ever had at an apartment building - not to mention the quietest apartment Ive ever lived in. The building management is caring, and quick to fix any issues you might encounter. The location is amazing - you can walk to Whole Foods in 5 minutes, and the metro is also a 5 minute walk away. The only reason I left was to get a house with a yard for the dog! Otherwise wouldve happily stayed for many more years. Brandi and Denae are amazing - do yourself a favor and rent here :)

I recently spoke with Brandi in regards to moving across the country and my options for renting a home unseen. She was extremely thorough with the information given and I must say I’m really relieved to have someone that really knew what she was talking about in order to make my move easier. This building is in a great location, they have so many floor plans to choose from (depending on when you’re moving) and the staff seem very helpful and kind. Looking forward to this move!

I have lived at Renaissance Tower for almost two months and it has been bountiful experience. Maintenance for ME has been prompt and moving-in, I had no issues and the staff for ME especially Brandi has been great. I do not hear much noise except when I open the window (facing Olympic). Everything is close by and I really do not have issues with outside community much and I do not have issues with not feeling safe. Everyones experience here will be different and I read the low reviews before I moved in but still thought everything will work out and thus far it has. Thanks Windsor community!

This review has been long overdue since I have lived at the Renaissance since 2013. I believe this building has one of the best views in DTLA and its definitely reasonably priced (especially compared to other buildings around the area). Plus you cannot beat the location since its in the middle of everything!I also find the Renaissance team very friendly and professional. I had inquired about moving to a different larger apartment, and both Brandi and Denae were thorough and helpful during this process. Plus all service requests are fulfilled quickly and painlessly. Much thanks to the staff!

Do not rent here. Management is not helpful and they are very disrespectful. First of all it is impossible to sleep in APT 216, it gets all the light from the building- we informed them about this but nothing happened. Also the lights broke and made a noise that made impossible to sleep but AGAIN nothing happened for MONTHS. Instead of being nice after all this happening they were zero helpful and understanding. Before leaving we got a professional deep cleaning done and they still kept half of our deposit due to a deep cleaning service.I have never written a review before. But they really deserve zero stars.

I can’t get my name added to the Amazon Hub Locker system that all the residents are supposed to have access to and have had packages go missing that were delivered to the locker. Amazon has warned those responsible about these problems to no avail. While looking into the issue an Amazon associate in Seattle in their special Hub Locker department told me that 22 other packages seem to have been “removed” and not sent back to Amazon. At least 3 of my packages have been taken. Amazon told me the first package was taken out after a week and then the second package was taken out less than 48 hours after delivery using an assigned access code which the remover tells me absolutely did not occur and both have been missing for more than a month. The 3rd was just time sensitive documents sent via a delivery service which were delivered to the locker and I only found out about when the package was left in my locked USPS mailbox weeks later even though it wasn’t sent via USPS and was not put there by them. Whoever did it must have access to both the Hub Locker and the USPS mailboxes but it just doesn’t make sense who it could be.

I had the opportunity to live at Renaissance when I moved to LA. I found the value to be among the best bang for my buck in DTLA. Location, amenities, cleanliness, and friendliness were incredible. Of course, you can pay 3k-4k for a more modern building and there are plenty in DTLA that will gladly take your money, but for the value, RT is top of the list. I also found Denae and Brandi to be one of the nicest office staffs Ive ever experienced. I have and would continue recommending this property to others.

I was interested in leasing from here, but I tried for over a week via multiple phones calls and emails to the manager with no response, and even after calling the main office and being told the the manager of the building would get back to me, I still havent received any further communication. If this is any indication of what management is like as a tenant, its a pretty bad sign.

Living in Downtown LA was a dream come true. We were happy with the Renaissance Tower infrastructure. Meanwhile the staff narrowly met our low expectations for apartment management and leasing. I had researched the staff on Google Reviews so I already knew that we would be a non-priority once we signed on that dotted line. We knew one elevator would be out of service frequently. We figured we would have a run-in with a concierge rep (in this case one tried to invite himself into our apartment thinking I was home alone at night). We knew we were saying good-bye forever to our security deposit (typical of most companies whether they admit it or not). Then COVID-19 hit. We were hit hard. We still had jobs but had no work due to the pandemic. We were going into debt paying $2165/mo plus $125 for parking. (Filing for unemployment would disqualify our application for residency). When times got tough we sat down with the leasing staff on multiple occasions. The rock bottom prices that came up during COVID ($1760/mo 1bd/1ba or $1580 0bd/1ba) were unavailable to us. To get that better rate we would be charged $6 GRAND for move out fees and then $2 GRAND for move-in fees, paying double rent for 2 months. Renaissance has lost a LOT of residents this year (we figure 10%) so they had us right where they wanted us: lining Windsor’s pockets. When we found the money to get out, we fled. We left the apartment in mint condition so only $177 of our deposit was used for repair and labor. But sure enough: Renaissance replaced the 18 month-old carpet on our tab: $856. No pets. No children. No spills. The carpet had just been professionally cleaned upon our departure. And the only 1 person who wore shoes on our carpet was the maintenance person who forgot our specific request to remove his shoes. I bet even the new residents of apartment 719 would not be able to tell the difference between the new carpet and the carpet we left behind. Please see our photos we took when moving out.Karma.P.S. ...and they still never cleaned those damn windows: A thick layer of soot since the day we moved in.

All these other reviews are FAKE. Why would there be 40 reviews in month that all just say how great the landlord is? Its exactly the opposite of what the good reviews say.It should be called Renaissance Fair. Serious issues with this building including plumbing issues that aren’t repaired properly. Instead of proper repairs they harass the residents into letting them do unpermitted work then try to bill you for it. The property manager is unprofessional things when she doesn’t get her way. When I first moved in here they made me sign a blank move-in inspection paper and also gave me a copy of it and told me to complete it with the damaged items and return my copy to the office so they could fill in my answers on the signed copy. They wouldnt give me the keys unless I signed the blank damage report saying the unit was in perfect condition and as you can see from their reply and numerous other reviews they make up whatever they want and charge people for it. The fire sprinklers recently went off on floors 2-4 leading to tremendous damage and the potential for mold growth because of instead of replacing the drywall that got wet they just removed the baseboards and cut some holes in the drywall and have been drying the walls for the last week with fans. The drywall underneath already had mold growth and will only get worse when they paint over it. LADBS “Express Permits Document (no plan check)” pdf lists everything they need a permit for but landlord will tell you she doesn’t need to follow the rules and knows better. The HCIDLA let me file a complaint online for building issues but there are so many it’s not worth living with the habitability issues and property manager if you don’t let them make shoddy repairs. Urine smells so strongly it wafts up into apartments. In general not so good with the maintenance and Ive noticed its been getting a lot worse lately in terms of the building upkeep. No laundry in units and laundry machines smell terrible. I have video of maintenance shoving a metal rod with a string on it under my door and trying to open the security latch to get in one day when they said there was a fire alarm inspection because I just ignored them when they knocked. They do whatever they want, including breaking into peoples homes and just put band-aids on problems instead of fixing them the right way. As a result 4 floors of the building were damaged when the sprinklers randomly go off and the mold is making people sick.

I am a very Sad Iraq veteran, who really needed my security deposit back, but honestly you cant get it back. Here is the truth about Renaissance tower. Its great for short term and if you dont have pets, and if you dont have a car. But if you have pets it is 100% guaranteed they will keep not only your non refundable pet deposit but they will charge you for replacing the carpet when you leave no matter what. We were charged $836 out of our deposit after we paid almost $200 to have the carpet professionally cleaned. We did everything we were supposed and were even told by Dale the maintenance supervisor that we were good and that we only would have to pay for touch up paint. But even though the carpet was clean they pulled it up because they were replacing it anyways they found some pet stains underneath and charged us for it. There was no cause to pull up the carpet to find those stains. They replace the carpets because they want to. Dont live here if you have pets go to the Gas Tower which is also pet friendly and cheaper. You wont have a problem there with the concrete floors.

Terrible management. Totally unfriendly and threatening with small things. Dirty common areas. Corridors smelling really bad. Found roaches several times on those dirty corridors, found even inside my unit. Bikes are stolen all the time from the parking garage. Gates are often wide open . Not safe at all for the price. Elevator is often broken making a long waiting time. With so many new nice apartments in DTLA this is a big NO.
