I can never say enough good things about this place. Not only is the owner friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, his sons that work there share the same values. Even though I am confident in what I’m doing, they still check to make sure that I’m doing all right. But it’s beyond nice to have a place to go do some work on my car at a reasonable price. I was able to mount and balance all four of my tires on my car for $40 bucks. Everywhere else wants $150 for something I know how to do, I just don’t have the equipment.

Got right in quickly. Staff was friendly and helpful. Dealership wanted $195 to change my oil on my Crossfire. Going here cost me less than $30 for the hoist and $60 oil and a filter. I saved over $100 bucks going with these guys. I will be back. Thank you

My Mechanic’s is a great place for DIY auto repair folks. I completed a project for 70% less then the dealership service center quote. Bring your tools and or rent from their variety. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and considerate. I will definitely be back for future projects.

This place really goes above and beyond with all of your repair needs. Ive been there twice so far and Im always excited to save money and do proper work on my vehicle with their professional equipment. They hoist your car up for you so you can know its safe to work under and not worry about the car falling. The employee (Joel I think?) was very knowledgeable about different cars and even talked to me about the job I was doing and other things that commonly went wrong with my model of car (good to know for the future!). He also helped me retrieve a part that was stuck on the vehicle that I had absolutely no idea how to retrieve. The tool crib there has pretty much any tool you need for the job. They also have different machines you would find in commercial auto repair shops such as tire machines and sandblasting cabinets. Very happy with the service and will definitely be coming back soon!

Great place. In and out easily. Plenty of availability for a Friday morning at opening (10am). They had a receptacle for oil changes, and lifts got all types of cars. $12 for an hour on the four post as photographed. Can’t beat it! I’ll be back.

I had a bad tire on my trip. I called them and they said come in right now. I got there and was in and out in 15 minutes and on my way. They were very courteous and professional. I called several other shops and none of them could help me for at least 6 hours. Highly recommend!!!

I went here to change out my coil springs in my Jeep jk. I’m mechanically included but this job really requires a lift. I went from a 3.5” lift to a 4.5” lift. Awesome experience. Jay and Joel were great and helpful even where there for a hand now and again. Got the job done in the same time as the Offroad shop quoted me and I saved $500 by doing it myself. I will be back.

Rent your Uhaul from here. Our move in day got pushed back last minute and this place worked with us to keep our loaded uhaul overnight with no extra fee. I also jammed the cargo door and they fixed it with no problem.

I have rented U-Haul trucks from this location a few times. I keep coming back to this location even though it is not the closest. They are so courteous and helpful. I just came in to buy boxes and bubble wrap and the young man offered to take them to my car. They get an A+ for customer service!

Showed up at 10AM to work on swapping a transmission in my car, Got right in right away, Got the perfect hoist that cleared my rented trans jack. I had a really easy time using My mechanics fully stocked tool crib and borrowing torque wrenches or thread chasing tools or whatever it be they had it. They have a place to wash your hands and they keep the coffee going and are willing to offer advice or to come and readjust the lift as many times as needed. I highly recommended using their shop for anything from oil changes to engine swaps.

Id give this place more stars if I could, I love this place. They helped me turn a $550 mechanic job into a $160 job. They lifted my car, let me borrow all the tools I ever wanted and let me go to work. Very family friendly place. Everyone was very very nice. They are very knowledgeable about automotive tools and all systems of a vehicle. While I was working theyd ask me how I was doing and if I needed another hand. The owner is a fantastic guy, cool to talk to. It was very handy to have a mechanic to ask random questions to about how to take things apart and had ANY tool for ANY job.I could go on and on about how awesome this place is but long story short, Im definitely coming back if I ever want to work on my car. Great place to work on your car! They have everything, and the staff was really knowledgable and helpful. Joel helped me out a lot, he even helped grind out the bolts I stripped out on my sway bar links. Really appreciate the help and the advice. Would have came here earlier to do car stuff if I knew better! Kind of felt like a machine shop hehe. A lot of other cool car projects around too.

Helpful staff and a great place for do it yourselfers

This was my first time here I really like the whole idea of this place they had the right tools I needed just a couple suggestions guys,the place needs a little tidying up the floors are really filthy and I get its a garage but that doesnt mean it has to be dirty a good sweeping would make a huge difference also there were a lot of cigarette butts just laying in the concrete post outside the bays and Im a smoker myself and there is a urn just lazy smokers I guess,also I noticed around the shop kinda looks like a storage facility but all in all it served my purpose but with just a little more housekeeping this place would stand out for sure,anyway if I need to do anymore work I will be sure to go here again

This place is so cool. A friend told me about it when I needed some brake work done on my car. I love the idea that you can rent a bay hourly either with or without a lift and be able to work on your car and borrow or rent tools. Rental is hourly or daily and really reasonable rate. The staff is very knowledgeable and will even offer to help you on certain things. Will be back again as soon as my car needs more work.

The shop was clean and very well equipped they have bases with lifts and even a paint booth.

I usually dont write reviews but this was a nice business who went all the way to help me work on my car.I worked on getting my brake job(all 4 with rotors and pads) and Trans oil change. Really a great place to work on your car.. These guys are super helpful.. They will do their best to help you out with a tool/tips or even give a hand if you need help.. Just follow their rules(its safe that way anyways) and thats it.. You be friendly and so will they be.. :)I would definitely recommend this place..

I dont have space in my apartment for my floor jack and toolbox. Since I use synthetic, doing my oil changes myself at My Mechanics Place saves me between 20 and 30 bucks each oil change compared to getting it done at a shop.

Have been here twice and had a great experience both times. I dont leave reviews often, but felt obligated as I am so grateful that a place like this exists nearby. When you want to lift your car, nothing else will do. Crawling under a car on jack stands is the worst. The staff is excellent and theres a fun camaraderie among everyone working on their cars. Youll see everything from trucks, classics, domestic and imports. They quickly supply any tool youve forgotten and offer a lot of advice as well. I cant say enough good things about the place. Ill be a frequent customer. Dont hesitate to give them a try.

They will go above and beyond to assist you. They treated me like I was a king when I was there. I rented a bay for a day and whenever I had an issue, they were quick to offer advice and even asked me if I wanted to get in on their food order. That type of service is what makes me only choose My Mechanics Place whenever I need to wrench!

Great place, awesome service.I had to rebuild my fuel filter primer on my Chevy Diesel truck and it is early January in Michigan and my truck does not fit in my garage and I have no heat either.What should have been a simple job was anything but simple, lucky for me Jay and Corbin were working today to lend me a few tools and a helping hand several times.Without Jay and Corbin I would not have been able to complete the rebuild of the housing unit.Great place, great staff, inexpensive and warm and dry.Highly recommend My Mechanics Place.Thanks again for the help.Rob

Proof that honest mechanics exist. I walked into this place with a used truck that needed $5500 of work at a dealership and got the work done for less than $2000 by my own hands. I had some mechanical aptitude when walking in but not a lot of mechanic/wrenching experience. These guys were really supportive and give pointers on how I could get the work done myself. I unreservedly recommend this business.

This place is great. Saved me a whole lot of money by going to them instead of a mechanic, ended up getting stuck on a couple of things and they were right there more than willing to assist me. Definitely going to use them a lot more, only wish they were closer to where I live, but overall definitely worth the drive.

They got pretty much every tool youd need, a couple of the guys there know a decent amount about cars and most are happy to point you in the right direction. Ill be returning here for any repairs or installs I need to do, eff payin a machanic. If you have a day off and you need to repair your car, watch a couple of youtube videos about your car and rent some tools. It beats paying a mechanic 3 times as much as youll pay here for labor. This place is dope

Do your own auto repair athe My Mechanics Place. Had a flat the othere day and my son used the tire machine to get me back on the road in no time, at a fraction of the cost. Actually bought and mounted 2 tires for the cost of a mechanic getting one done!!

The only reason I have given this place 4 stars is because lately their customer service at the counter has slipped. Sometimes you walk to the counter and dont get acknowledged until whoever is behind it, finishes their conversation, last bite to eat or watching a video on their phone. I love this place, just try focusing a little more on customer courtesy.

Ive done brakes, oil change, tire service, shocks, and more with the tools and resources at My Mechanics Place. Go and check them out. Get your hands dirty and learn something new. Joe was a great resource for getting a project completed that was beyond my comfort level. MMP has saved me over $1000 dollars on repairs.

To this is my only 2nd 5 STAR review.I almost didnt do a review, just because I didnt want anyone else to find it because I enjoy using it so much! on that note, Great rates to work on your own vehicle, the staff are extremely helpful yes theyre mechanics who are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. You really have to check this out if you dont have a garage of your own.Update: Veteran Owned and OperatedI was quoted $50 to install 4 shocks, just installation, so I bought them and for less than the price of install I saved at least $280 just to unscrew 8 bolts and install my shock absorbers.So is $25 an hour or $125 a day! Plus air tools, to work on your own car with a lift worth it? HELL YES..... Not even mentioning the quote from another mechanic for $100 to install a serpatine belt, it took me 10 minutes and saved me even more. Mechanics will rob you blind, do it yourself, cowboy up and get your hands dirty, and save;Thousands $$$,$$$.$$ Yes Thousands of dollars.You do it so its done right, as in no screws or bolts left overAnd there is a paint booth for body work.*****

My husband loves this place but you cant really go by the hours posted online or on their door. We tried to return a uhaul truck and arrived with 11min to spare before closing. They were already closed for the day? Its 8:49pm on a Thursday. Per the hours they have posted online they are open until 9pm. So then I tried calling and leaving a message...their vmail is full?!! 😕If they charge me for 2days instead of one Im changing my rating to 1 star and disputing the charges.Just an update: They didnt charge us for the extra day after closing early. So Im changing my rating from 3 🌟 to 4 🌟. 😉

The only DIY auto garage in the Detroit/Southeast Michigan area. Place is clean and the rates are fair. Staff are friendly and will answer all your questions. I was able to do my thing and get the job done. Plus i saved money by doing it myself instead of the dealer. I recommend this place if youre a DIY guy like me or if you want to start doing it yourself. Good place!
