Alicen Zambrano is the person you want to talk to. She is great at her job, and you know for a fact that shell follow through on whatever she says shell do.
I have had many rentals in my past. I can honestly say that I absolutely love Mac. I can only speak for my building, but the two maintenance situations I have had have been delivered with promptly. One I put in on Saturday night and Sunday right after lunch they came and fixed it. And you cant beat the location! Im a man 15 mom drive from anything in KC. My experience has been amazing so far.
The Windemere apartments are gorgeous! I live in a spacious studio apartment. It is plenty of space for a single woman or man. The hardwood floors are fantastic and the amenities the apartment comes with are nice. There is a single washer and dryer on each floor for using, a courtyard, workout room, pool table, and even several lounging areas on the ground floor. The apartment is great, except the very thin walls. So thin that I can hear my neighbor when she has phone calls, sometimes I can hear both ends of the conversation word for word. I can hear my other neighbors walking around when they get home. But the worse is the upstairs neighbors. I never lived in a building that caused any noise issues because of thin walls. But I’d you are a lift sleeper or work nights these apartments aren’t for you. While gorgeous and the noise can be tolerable it wouldn’t make it easy for someone who is sensitive to noise. Other than that I have had no issues so far. Granted I haven’t lived in the apartment long but I have been with Mac Proporties for a little less than 3 months. They are a fantastic company and work well with their tenants
There is absolutely no parking available around here (except the few spaces they charge for).
Maintenance is great! Anthony was super helpful and went above and beyond! I love my apartment, but they raise rent every year :(
Helped a friend move in around November noticed there was no heat/ wall unit wasn’t blowing any air at all. They came back with a space heater. Just visited this weekend and the wall unit still isn’t working. It’ll be a record low of 8° tomorrow. Maintenance has been called out twice. The appliances are basic and apparently the dryer takes more than once to get a load of laundry dry. There’s broken furniture in the lobby.
Please, do yourself a favor and do not move here. I moved into my studio apartment in November and the unit had NO HEAT and was filthy. Even after I requested to have it properly cleaned a second time, delaying my move-in, there was still dirt and paint all over the floor, stained countertops and bathtub, even hair from the previous tenant all over the bathroom. I gave up and scrubbed the place myself. It is now March and I am STILL without working heating and cooling despite several maintenance requests and phone calls. Following my latest phone call about this matter, I was assured someone would be in contact the next day to make the repairs. Of course, that never happened and I never receive so much as an email or phone call following up. They just keep leaving me hanging over and over and over again. To make matters worse, I was told there was a parking space behind my building available for purchase. I immediately called to buy it. I paid for the remainder of that month as well as the next month in advance. Over a week waiting for my parking pass, I am finally told its ready to be picked up. However when I get to the office, I am informed that the spot I purchased never even existed. How does that even happen??That being said, I do not believe the maintenance workers are to blame. They are always very friendly and have offered me space heaters many times (after the first one, of course, broke) over the past months to deal with the cold. It is not their fault that property management is misleading and doesnt want to make the actual repairs. But I did not sign a lease for a room with a space heater, where half of the place is always freezing. What are they going to do in the summer? Provide me with a fan while refusing to fix the A/C?To sum it up, I regret signing my lease and anyone thinking about moving here should look elsewhere.
So I wrote a review previsouly and gave it four stars. But after living here for longer it has definitely lowered. The walls are so thin I can hear almost everything from my upstairs, left, and right neighbors. So thin that I heard my neighbor sneeze the other day. I have been woken up in the mornings form hearing my neighbors simply just walk around upstairs. DO NOT MOVE to these apartments! Yes the building is gorgeous and cute, the studios are great size for a studio, but unless you want to hear your neighbors having sex(not loudly) warming up food in the microwave, their phones vibrate, and simply hear the floors creak beneath their feet DO NOT move in to one of these apartments
Wish I could do negitive stars. worst living experience ever. my car was broken into in the newburn parking lot and completely trashed, cops did nothing. car was broke into again when moved to the windimeir rear parking lot. they seem to let anyone move in here. for months someone on the second floor with a mental disorder would scream and slam His doors all night waking everyone up and it would go on like that for hours.the other neighbors seem to be awake all night every night. the person on the bed side of the studio wall yells and screams all night. I wrote a formal noise complaint that was completely disregarded by the staff. they told me they needed 2 more people to write a complaint before taking action. she is up all night everynight on the phone yelling. ear plugs cant stop the noise. then a person moves in above me and it was the last straw. they stomp around all night on the creakiest hard wood floors of all time. they claim to have a 10pm noise cut off, which nobody here seems to care about and if you write an email saying you cant sleep like I have they will do absolutely nothing about it. probably the original flooring. its so loud you cant even imaging the noise. wrote a complaint about the person above me. staff said they contacted them and said they said the tenant said she wasnt home. she definitly was, and I was definitely late to work because I didnt get to sleep till 5am when the stomping stopped long enough to fall asleep. absolutely will never live in another mac properties not because of the terrible living experience, but simply the fact that the staff did absolutely nothing about a single one of my complaints, which were of legitiment concern.also armour Ive learned has fire trucks and cop cars racing up and down it all day and night from shootings and etc crimes. so unless you love hearing sirens 24/7 dont move here
The building itself, rehabbed (i.e., renovated) is quite fine. The appliances, floors, common lobby areas, gym are all appreciably livable. There are a few issues that detract from the optimal opinion I could have that deal more with property management (e.g., my bathtub plumbing, outside windows, and waffling ith promised action before I moved in which Ibe been assured by Mac front office will be addressed). Until then, I wish I could give half a star option, as 3 1/2 is what I would currently apply versus the 4.5 or 5.0 which is what one should expect from the building, Windemere, and the responsibilities of management, as it impacts the structure.
Nice to micro manage some work Being done ✔
