I am not happy at all with my car rental from this location. Avis charged us $1,000 to use a new wrangler for 7 days. You would expect to get a nice newer vehicle for that price. However, I was given a older Jeep. On top of that the jeep was filthy with stained seats. It’s time to update your fleet Avis and if you are going to charge so much to use your vehicles give the customers a nice car!!

We picked up a Jeep Wrangler from Avis yesterday. Its a good car. We were able to get in and out of the office in about 20 minutes.The line for Budget was probably more than an hour long. Id recommend using Avis over budget unless you like getting off a plane and standing in line for 2 hours.The staff were very friendly. We got in our Jeep and it was out of gas, but the agent in the parking garage was quick to correct the issue by driving over and fueling up in about 5 minutes.

I was disappointed in the fact that the roof of the jeep was tweaked and there was air noisily coming into the car interior. My daughters b/f was able to close it properly but said there was a bent closure that was causing the air and noise. Additionally, there was a lot of road noise coming from the left side of the vehicle which sounded like it could be a wheel bering problem. People pay a lot of money now days to rent vehicles and I believe they should be in tip top shape.

Completely AMAZED at the customer service and organization from this AVIS location! I knew this was a well managed location as soon as I arrived: walking in and seeing how the cars were organized by type in all the stalls? Thats a first in all the places Ive been. Customer service is apparent with the manager emailing me to personally welcome me and ensure that he is available for any questions or concerns. Returns were a breeze with two Avis team members checking my car, giving me providing us a total and sending us on our way with a thumbs up. Kudos to this location for a job well done!! I look forward to returning again!

I was forced into a car I did not want, when receiving the car, it was completely dirty on the inside as if someone else had just rented it and had a change oil light come on in the dash, stayed on my whole trip. I spent about an hour of my time on vacation to clean out the car myself. I had emailed Avis customer support during the trip and received a generic email back from them saying, sorry for the inconvenience, we will try better in the future.

It was an easy process online. I was given the chance to upgrade prior to my trip, which I chose not to. However, upon arrival at the counter on Saturday, July 31th, the clerk failed to mention the deposit charge, until later when checked my credit card account. When I returned the vehicle on Saturday, August 7, I asked the Return clerk about it and she explained the reason. It is helpful that customers should know so they can be financially prepared. Luckily I had a credit card that was used.

The service, speed and organization is the best I have seen at any airport. After a horrible experience with Thrifty in LAX and after using Avis in OGG, I am losing $250 to book Avis instead of using my current reservation with Dollar. Will never use another car rental place again. Thanks for making our travels amazing and easy!

Everything was as it should have been. Easy. Some confusion as to which line to get into at car rental center as it shares building with other companys. Should be more clear as to which line to enter and this would be easy to do just by moving the barriers to each company, instead of one queue. It wouldnt take additional money, and Im perplexed why management cant figure this out. Seems they dont care how efficient they process customers. Flight changes on departing were taken care of with ease.

We rented a Dodge Van with approximately 19000 miles on the odometer. The transmission went out on day one and we had to wait almost 3 hours for a tow.Upon drop off we were billed for refueling. We turned it in with a full tank. Make sure you take a picture of fuel gauge and odometer when turning in your vehicle.Pick up was a breeze and the staff was very courteous.Rental was in Kahului Maui

I was initially given a vehicle with bald tires! I didnt catch it at pick up because the garage was on the darker side, but on day two I noticed as we were ready to go for a drive. Instead of sticking to our plans, I took the vehicle back and requested a different one in the same class. Thankfully, another vehicle was available . . . with good tires this time. Also, I have to question the cleaning of the vehicles. Streaky windows, dirt/sand in the cupholders and seats and dirty wheels. I understand Hawaii is a busy destination, but cutting corners in order to rent vehicles is a recipe for lost business.

Great check in process and no form to fill out with scratches and dings. Just take a few pics and the key is in the car. Best rental car experience I have had! Even better when you check in online and your name is on the board and your car is assigned so quick an easy to get on with vacation.

I am very disappointed with this company as they will not allow me to use my corporate discount code. What a rip off. Spent over 6 hours on phone talked with I guess very unprofessional managers. Been hung up on over and over on something that I’m my opinion should be easy fix. I just want to add my discount code and can’t seem to do that through the online. I may have to pay that this time but I promise you all future rentals will be with another’s company

Excellent! arrived to OGG and picked up my vehicle via the app.. had a list of jeeps to choose from on the app... I obviously went with the newest and lowest mileage choice. everything was seamless including return. when I picked up I didnt even have to speak to anyone or wait in a line.. just choose the vehicle you want in the app and it gives you the spot its in and keys are in vehicle waiting for you.photo taken cruisin up to haleakala summit for an afternoon hike. was 50 degrees with windy conditions on feb 1st. hoody and gloves will do yah well!

Customer service was less than stellar - specially with the personnel at the Avis Preferred kiosk.We just needed a car for the day - the best option at the time was a Camaro Convertible which was pushed by the agent as What a Wonderful car and Red is such a great color - All in All - the car was awful - trunk space is limited and even worse when the top is down. there is no leg room at all for the back seat and if the top is not down - there is no headroom either. Car is horrible on gas mileage. Not a good experience - but at least we know for future never to get that car again.

Was dropping off my car and noticed a young lady working there start purposefully ramming her knee into the rear bumper of the car in front of me. I went back to take pictures of my car before leaving as proof no damage was there. I suggest everyone dropping their car off here do the same.

This was the worst rental experience in my life. I rented a car for 790 I needed to upgrade to a small SUV and they charge me an extra thousand dollars. This was the worst mark up I’ve ever seen I do not recommend going to Avis in Maui

Was both a late check-in when we got to Hawaii in a late check-in to return the car so we can go home they were very very helpful and insightful working with me at these hours considering they probably worked a very long day and were more likely very tired they had smiles on their face they were very cordial and I would definitely rent with them again was a pleasure to do business with them

Friday night on Spring Break, Avis closed all the self-services machines and kept only TWO positions opened. 2 hours of line !!! Terrible service !!!! Don’t rent it. Make your option for another rental car.

I had an issue with a rental: 1 hours within rental oil change light came on and you could feel it in the performance + other stuff.... Emailed store and spoke to general manager Co. Co was super helpful and very kind and professional. Co Informed us to come by as soon as possible so we could swap out truck. We got to airport, we were out in 5 minutes... new truck has none of the above issues... total service recovery, will continue to use AVIS, and the local branch is lucky to have greet employees like Co. strongly recommend, would gladly use again !

The rental car - jeep wrangler was in very poor condition...high mileage, dirty seats, air conditioning out of order. Not sure why the car would lock with key inside the car. It happened to me during the trip. I called Avis Roadside Assistance, and was put on hold for over 1.5 hours, without getting any real help. Its getting dark and I ended up paying $300 to a tow company to unlock the vehicle for me. I think I am entitled to get some refund from Avis for the broken A/C and reimbursement of cost to unlock the vehicle.

Ive been a frequent business traveler for more than 30 years and never had a worse experience when taking possession of the rental. I scheduled and prepaid my rental far in advance of my trip. Upon my arrival at the Kahului Airport, I was forced to wait in long lines for 4 and a half hours to receive my rental. I stood in line for more than 3 hours outside the Avis retail office to be assigned a vehicle type which wasnt my reserved choice. In addition, I had to wait another hour and a half downstairs at the railing for my assigned vehicle to be made available. I will never use Avis again and will dissuade all friends, family and co-workers to avoid Avis, Budget and Thrifty, especially in Hawaii. Gross incompetence was the most accurate description. Vehicle return was smooth, but of course, I returned the vehicle 3 and half hours in advance of my flight departure. Ive zero faith in Avis now.

DO NEVER PREPAY!!! There are plenty of cars in Maui!!!! I prepaid for a 2 door Jeep and thought I got a great deal.... when we landed my friend checked again the cost and we found a 4 door for over $100 cheaper!! I could not take the better deal because I had already prepaid.... sucked. The jeep also was pretty beat up, but thats good when youre in Maui and going to the beach and Road to Hana, as then you dont have to worry so much about the sand etc. It was also incredibly easy to return the car... just put in Avis Car Rental return and it will take u directly to the drop off area.

There is always a problem at this location. This trip your computers were down so we had to wait for your agents to hand write the entire contract. As if we were not tired enough we were kind at the mercy of this. Every time there is something! Also I just looked at my receipt and although I dropped the car off the evening of 5/22 you charged me an extra day @ 141.67 and it shows I returned it on 5/23 @ 6:11a, lol. I was already back in Los Angeles at that time. Funny little things like this make your experience a HUGE problem.. I will be calling about that extra day I was charged and if it does not get reversed I will dispute this with my credit card company.

I did reservation on expedia pay in advance and had to change reservation for 1 day later and avis do not recognize the refund for the day I did not use it. Also Avis did not recognize the full cover insurance offered to me by expedia and I had to pay 500 dolars extra for an Avis insurance

Accquired van and was told their was no Vans, asked if they can help us out in anyway they said no can,talk to Jensen and he help us alot and another associate helped after but the first associate was bad no customer service and upon receiving van wasnt cleaned or disinfected at all and keys way missing had to wait for new van after my entire family boarded what we believed was a cleaned van. we are keeping an eye on our health since we was in contact with a dirty vehicle after all finally got everything in order after an hour an half. was the worst experience ever and I will tell all I know about this experience and the unsafe practices that they do. oh an another thing they tried over charginging kamaina patrons.

I would never rent from Avis again. This was the first time we did and it was an absolutely terrible experience getting our rental car. We waited for over an hour to even talk to someone about our reservation. When we got to the counter, they were out of the cars we reserved so we were downgraded to a different car.After that we were told to head downstairs and pick up the car. We waited for an additional 2 hours to even get the rental car and there was not a single person to talk to or ask questions. We tried to talk to an avis representative multiple times to figure out where our car was but were ignored. Once we finally spoke to someone, they brought our car down 20 minutes later.The next day after driving only to our hotel, the tire to the car was almost flat with a nail in it and we had to get a new car. We assume this may be the reason the car took so long to get the day before, since it was probably supposed to be fixed. Once we went to get our new car, we were downgraded once again on the car to the lowest vehicle since they had no cars left. It was a terrible experience!

I liked that the person who took the car back and made a note of the how horrible the tires were.It would be nice if at the time of rental, the people at the desk acknowledge the people in line. There were 2 people but the other one who wasnt busy assumed I was with the gentleman who was being helped.

Normally I would rate 9 or 10, but this time I received a rental that was in very very poor condition. It had paint chips missing and dings on all 4 doors. It had over 35K miles. And worst of all, the front passenger side fender was popping off (I wish I could upload my pics) !! I pointed this out to the rental agent, and she (Anna) told me to take time-stamped pictures of the damage so that I would not be charged for it. To her credit, Anna offered to try to find me a replacement vehicle, but since we had been on a plane/airports for 15h en route to Maui, we just wanted to get to the hotel ASAP, and the car was driveable.

Made my reservation 1/15/21 for 15 days. $551 was told i could return car prematurely no penalties. When i picked the car up they told me it would be over $2200! After argueing with the rep she made another bill roughly $551 and no penalty for early turn in. when i returne the car 8 days and 4 hours later the bill was $490. I was on hold with Avis costumer service for over an hour thats just to talk to someone! No telling how much time spent!They finally adjusted my bill ! Its not worth the hasel. To many other companies.

Rented this jeep for 3 days in Maui and they charged us almost $500!! Jeep was stained EVERYWHERE. Smelled like cigarette when we first got in. You would expect a new jeep for the price, yet it is an older model. So disappointed with their service and their prices.

(Maui Airport Location) Easiest, quickest check in /check out process Ive ever had. Didnt feel hassled on pre-buying gas, insurance, looking for scratches, etc like normal. It was quite refreshing not to feel like I was constantly being sold add on things that you dont really need. Or having the rental car agency sneak some of those things onto the contract and just hope that you dont notice.

After waiting in a line of about 45 people to rent a car at Airport, Clerk gave me a car, and when I went to get in, someone already reserved it, and was driving away. Went back to counter, Clerk gave me another, went to get out of lot, and it also had another persons name on it, but they changed it to my name, and I was able to get on way to hotel. Got to Valet at Hotel 45 minutes away, and Valet came chasing me down in Hotel. Vehicle would not Start and had to tow away. Tried to get another car delivered to Hotel, but Roadside Assistance for Avis, told me I had to go back to airport to get a Car. I spoke with the concerie at hotel, and she was able to get me a Car across the street (Not an Hour and Half Ride) at same rate from Avis.

Staff did a good job of making the rental as quick and easy as possible-and upgrade was easy. The Tahoe we upgraded to had issues. Radio /nav/car play etc wouldnt work and the only option was return to the airport site to exchange, which would have taken 3 hours out of an already tight schedule so we suffered thru it.

Avis was able to go above the other car rental companies. We had pre-book a 4 door Jeep with another rental company and when we got there to pick it up they had no jeeps. They only had economy cars left. It was a tough situation to be in when you have a family of 4 and 4 large suitcases. I walked across the street to Avis, was greeted with a smile, and they helped us into a 4door Jeep. Avis saved our family vacation experience!!! Thank you Avis!!! We’ll be back for sure!!

First experience with Avis preferred. We booked with Avis as father in law previously was Chairmans club member and generally speaks well if Avis, but he does think service has slipped recently. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. Over an hour wait to get a car, and after our full size vehicle rental, we ended up with a Hyundai elantra, which we had to literally cram and smash our soft luggage into the trunk to get our luggage to fit for our party of five. Overall, a very poor experience.

My reservation was confirmed at one price (1,057.00). I later made a change to the pickup and return times and was confirmed at (934.00) and i would receive a credit for the difference. When, I did the early check-in the price stated (2700.00). Later, when I got to the counter at my destination and after voicing my frustration the price was 1300.00. There was no damage inspection of the vehicle with an Avis representative. (We took several photographs).When we returned vehicle there was no inspection, just a representative that said everything was okay and I would receive an email receipt. Instead of an email receipt they sent a damage report which included pictures of the alleged damage and stating I would be contacted by their legal representative. The damage they claim I did is clearly evident in the photos we took at pickup.
