If I could give zero stars I would! It was so bad and crooked that I stopped the girl halfway through and just left. I asked her multiple times to fix the nails and to make them more square. I even told her one of the times that it was crooked. I didn’t realize just how bad it was until I got home and took a closer look. If I would’ve seen how bad it was while I was there I would’ve refused to pay or at least asked for them to give me a considerable discount. Instead I paid 37.00 for me to walk around looking like a child was given a pair of clippers in the middle of the night. Not to mention she ripped part of my toenail off of the bed of my nail. It is so bad that now i will have to wait for my nails to grow out again before I can even fix them. I will NEVER go back. Horrendous experience. Save yourself the 37.00 and go somewhere else or hell, do it yourself, because I promise it’ll be better literally anywhere else.Edit: 08/16/21I have received a full cash refund from City Nails Spa.

I get a once-a-year vacation pedicure every year wherever I am. This year was Johnson City. I called City Nails, on a Saturday and asked if took walk-ins. They said yes but they were very busy and asked if I could come after 5, so I did. Do not go here in a hurry. They take their time with every client. I saw no rushing and everyone seemed focused on their clients. Coco was great with my pedi and very thorough. It was definitely worth the wait. It was one of the best pedis Ive had. The prices were very reasonable from what Ive seen across the country. Thanks City Nails.

It was an extremely pleasant visit. The place was clean, reasonably priced, and Sophie took her time to make sure my nails are done beautifully. I’m super happy about the visit and definitely will come back in the future! Highly recommend!

Went as a walk-in, they took me immediately on a Monday afternoon. There were about 5 other customers, 3 techs and a helper. It got busier toward the middle of my time there.Relaxing atmosphere, they offered a soft drink or bottled water. There were no strong ‘nail’ odors.I had a nail fill, wasn’t sure where to go as I had no recommendations in this area and prices are higher than where I go in FL, but a few dollars lower than other nail places in JC.The staff were friendly but not overly talkative which works for me as I like to relax & listen to music when getting my nails done.I am ver happy with the way my nails were shaped, even my husband thought they looked really good and said it was worth it! I will go back. Thankful I don’t have to go to multiple salons before finding a good one!

I only get regular manicures, which dont mean much money but I am good about tipping. My technician was a guy, who was pretty quick, no chit-chat, to the point. Considering I got an easy service, youd think hed do a better job with my cuticles. At least the price was OK. I may try this place again.

If Could give 0 stars I would. The man that does the nails there didnt even clip my hangnails or clean under my nails and its only been about a week since I got him done and this is what they look like and Ive already lost 2 of them I do not recommend this place

Very poor quality. My mani (gel) and pedi didn’t last two days before peeling. I waited way too long for service and was charged $80. Never again.

I was there during a pretty slow time of the day. There was only one other customer in the salon while I was there. However, they rushed through my entire appointment. The top coat of my manicure was applied in less than 10 seconds. The nail polish came out uneven and definitely not worth the price.I went there because I had my engagement photo session the next day, I had to remove the nail polish when I went home and went to a different place to get a redo.

This place is awesome. I took my youngest daughter there for pedicures, she is fun to watch because she cant stand anyone touching her feet. Lol. The people that did her and my feet thought it was as funny as I did. They were fantastic and I was given one of the best pedicures I have ever had. Thank you all so much!!!!!

I called ahead for 2 pedicures. She said come on in we can do it. I arrived with my daughter 5 minutes later and she said it will be 20 minutes. Someone ran our water after 20 minutes and it’s now cold - it has been an hour and no one has come back over. The water is draining and no one has started on us yet.Two ladies came in after us without an appointment and they started working on them first because they threw a fit about waiting so long. If it wasn’t my daughters birthday I would walk out.I won’t be back here.

This was, by far, one my best experiences!!! I had a manicure, pedicure, and brow wax. Vincent was extremely detail oriented and did a wonderful job! Tina’s brow wax was much needed and I’ll be back for more! The shop was clean and very relaxing! You have a customer for life!!

I called day before to schedule an appointment for the next day for myself and a friend. I had never been here before but thought with 4 stars they should be a good place to try since my usual salons were busy for this day. We arrive on time and sign in and were told by the front desk guy that they were a little behind. There were only 2 women working the whole time we were there and 3 women already being service for pedis and 2 other women waiting and one arrived around the same time we did... Long story short, my friend and I were not serviced for 2 hours after our appointment time. Though we were offered complimentary drinks (water or soda) I was still becoming quite frustrated that we were able to make appointments but there was no point since it was still treated as a walk in session. It also felt awkward as the front desk guy stood at the desk not really doing anything and appeared to be eavesdropping on our conversation as we made eye contact several times and that just doesnt seem professional to me. I actually also noticed after leaving that the last top clear coat was not applied to one of my nails to finish off the dip, but at that point, I did NOT want to go back to have them fix it. I wish I had read some of these other reviews before making my decision to go here. It seems as though they are often understaffed. They unfortunately wont be receiving my business again, Ive been treated much better elsewhere like at Luxury Nails.

I have been going here for almost 2 years now and City Nails is my favorite nail salon in Johnson City. They are clean, have a calm atmosphere, and do great work. Ive had manicures, pedicures, shellac, and the dip nails done here and I have been happy with all of it.They can definitely get busy at times, so you may have to wait a little while or try to go during a less busy time of day. They are definitely worth it though.

Unfortunately, the new management is rude and unprofessional. My shellac gel started chipping on the second day, and I was told that I was washing my hands too much, and this would be the last time they would fix for free.I wont go back, problem solved.

My daughter and wife got there nails done for a Memorial day vacation. They both enjoyed there pedicure.

I brought my two tween girls up there for tips and gel color. It was an absolute nightmare and her cuticles are on the fire, The color is wrong, they are bumpy and glue all over. She was too scared to say anything until it was over. When I went to get my nails done the same man was very rough and I asked him to stop. I just didn’t get a manicure. You could tell he was upset and was rude. Probably the worst experience at a nail salon we’ve ever had

For those of you that don’t know...City Nails have new owners and this just happened recently so whoever had bad service before they moved in need to go give it another try because they will meet all your needs. I have no complaints and I’d be the first to tell you. I was a client before they moved and I am still a client now. Angie at city nails will do anything you ask. (No matter how many times you change your color lol) She always goes above and beyond to give you the best experience and she will never let you down. Always expect the same great experience!

I had an appointment at 10:30 and they put me in a chair and they let me sit there for over over an hour and 1/2 before they provided services. I’m very disappointed with this. This is no way to treat your customers!

My nails look great.. but they were so busy, she couldnt do my french manicure I wanted. Also they lady went so fast, she scraped up my fingers around my nails. Which hurt pretty bad, but she didnt seem to care. Ill go here again.. just not during the busy hours. They ladies here arent really personable or nice. Just warning you.

Came in with a friend to get pedicures. I made an appointment and they started right on time. Everything came out of a package- all the tools. The pedicure was nice and not rushed. My toe nails look great. They clean well for COVID and have good rules in place. Everyone was wearing masks. Will return.

I got a full set gel 3 days ago, and oh my goodness they are so uneven and have now began to get these weird bubbles in them and turning like a gray color... theyre PINK. What the heck. honestly the worst Ive ever gotten from any place. They were very nice but definitely not worth the money

My nails are not even the same size as my other hand the acrylic was honestly horribly applied I hate my nails I could cry never again I paid $175 for a big mess and my toe nail polish was not even applied right nor is it what I wanted

I Went in for gel nails and regular pedicure. I was there for 2 hours and they had started on me right away. The toenail polish would not dry and they redid them. I waited another 15 min and they still smeared. I finally had to tell them to take the polish off that I had an appointment and they didn’t even get all the polish off. They tried to charge me for the pedicure and I refused. The next day the gel polish came off one finger nail and within the 3 days another. $30 for gel polish and I had to go to another nail salon to have them redone!!

I was quoted a different price on the phone than what I had to pay at check out. The pedicure was really nice, but they use a communal pot for the dip powder, which isnt ideal and unhygenical. It is one day later and one of my nails is bleeding and now Im worried of infection. I wont go back. I feel so ripped off on my manicure.

Went yesterday for the third time/try. I had been two weeks prior, and I wanted a fill/new set. Typically with dip/SNS they (all salons) soak off and replace with a fresh set. She told me I didnt need a new set and she could just fill them. I had enough growth that another week and they would REALLY look bad.. But I caved and let her just fill my old set. I honestly wanted a color change because I was tired of the french set. But they were busy, and even though I had an appt, I let her just fill them.She IS ROUGH with the nails. Last time prior she cut me with the emery board. Yet I gave her one more chance. My nails got hot under the drill multiple times and I kept having to pull away, because of fear of being injured again. She never apologized or even seemed to notice. I also asked for a cut down, which she did, but they are now very thick because of it. She did try to thin them out, but I had tips, and we took them down to the natural length underneath, so that part still has a tip, plus powder layers over.They are CHRONICALLY understaffed. There were three techs (including the manager/owner) working. They took three walkins for a pedicure. Then a very pregnant mother and her preteen daughter showed for their appt and were still waiting 45 mins later for their service to begin.Kat was very good with the pedi, and that was the 2nd time Ive had her. She is the reason I give 3 stars.Cor selections for dip powders are limited and dated, much of the polish is old, and cakes on the outside of the bottles. First time in was memorial day, and I was the only person there. Asked for Ombre french, and she said I dont do ombres. This was the manager/owner.Three strikes and theyre out.

I’ve been going to this salon since about November 2017. Everybody is so nice there and I always get great service! The woman who runs this place is very good with nails. I get the same color every time, and when I walk in they already know what I’m getting done 😊 I love this place ❤️

Had an appointment for 545 didn’t get my nails started on till I said something at 625, then I Asked for a full set square nails she did coffin and each nail is a different size! I was running late for couldn’t have her fix all and she wasn’t apologetic about the situation at all. Been there multiple times and most of the ladies are great but the last 3 times they have messed up my nails and rushed thru everything. Would not recommend unless you have time to micromanage your WHOLE appointment

Clean and staff is super nice. Everyone is experienced and up to date on latest trends and designs. Call ahead and make an appointment to avoid a wait. Lots of pedicure seats and the atmosphere is calming.

This place is OK...not consistent with services rendered so not worth my hour drive. Ive been here twice for dip nails.First time the technique was good, but in the sun I noticed bumps (dust) in the polish. I was already home when I noticed.Second time, I had an appt with Nikki...great customer service! However, 5 minutes after leaving, the polish had crinkled. This had been discussed and I was still in town and went back. Nikki was great! But, using the regular technique I still have crinkles --didnt think I would have trouble the second time (I am not new to dip and love) and it was late in the day. I drove home and didnt notice crinkles until later.The manager (Jen?) is not very friendly. Upon returning Nikki asked the manager a question and she wasnt helpful.Place is clean and both pedicures were OK.

I made an appointment. Showed up early and still had to wait an additional 45 minutes. I walked out.Then they pulled a walk in, in front of me, at the 45 minute mark. Not going back. I wish I didnt have a gift certificate there. ☹️

Love City Nails! It is the only place in the area I recommend, and I have tried them all! The staff is friendly and the service is always fast and accurate! The only thing I wouldnt recommend is the lash extensions, but if you ever have a problem, staff and management are quick to fix it!

Not very timely, had to wait almost 15 minutes past my appointment, then sat in the chair waiting another 15 minutes before my mani/pedi was even started! The mani/pedi was good, but polish was all smeared before I got out the door...even after sitting for 30 minutes with my hands & feet in the dryer lamp!! Had to remove it all when I got home so I would look appropriate for my job interview the next morning!!

The lady that done my nails was rude and rushed through them so fast that some of them were crooked and some didnt even cover half my natural nail. Wont be returning thats for sure.

I can’t speak for the other technicians, but Jenny is amazing! I’ve had her do my dip polish twice and both times she’s done an excellent job, even adding a fun design for Valentine’s Day. 10/10 would recommend!

Not sure how I feel about this place. The first time I went I had a very nice experience. The lady who did my nails was very nice but the job she did on my nails was....okay. At the cuticle she did a very sloppy job and making my acrylic nails seem nice and neat. They were also easily being pulled up at the cuticle. The second time i went was a terrible experience!! One of the nail techs actually cut my cuticle and it hurt! Now, i wasnt dripping blood or anything, but it was still bleeding. I went in there, wanting a black tip acrylic manicure. Instead of taking off the original nail, she just shaved off the ends at my cuticles and put on more acrylic which looked terrible! not only that, but she did a very VERY messy job at making the black tips. I was so angry that i had to pay $20 for such bad service. I ended up having to go home and paint over them with black polish.And not to mention that while i was there, most of the workers except for 1, because she was working on someone, went to the back for a long time! What they were doing, i have no idea. But i was ready to leave but there was no one to take my money! Heck, I was tempted to walk out! Honestly, if i were you, i just wouldnt go here.

The service was good. Everyone was friendly. Sadly, mine & my friends nails only lasted a week. I could just take them off with no problem. Will not be going back.

When i went i got acrylics and asked for a few designs and she wouldn’t do them. she charged extra for the acrylics. she worked on my nails then stopped to GET ON HER PHONE a few times. half of my nails are also crooked😡

Newer nail salon.. Good service, a little slow regarding the pedicure process but thorough. If youre in a rush (like I was), maybe try somewhere else. If you have time, not a bad choice.

Waited over a half hour and others that came in with no appointment went back before I did because plain shellac is easy and a gel manicure is too hard for them so I would have been late to work waiting for someone to even start my nails

The lady who did my nails sped through it which resulted in air bubbles popping up when my nails were under the fan. My right to left hand had different nail shapes. One nail got smudged and messed up. The main ladys response to fix the other ladys mess up was to just put another coat of nail polish and top coat over it which did not help. Then when the owner guy came over to ask if everything was okay now, I just told him it would do. I took the polish off as soon as I got home.

Had pedicure with my wife there 1 time. Was adequate, not amazing. The costumer service is atrocious. You can get your nails done here if u want, but don’t expect to be treated well.

The staff was nice, although i felt very unorganized. The woman doing my nails cut my skin several times, not only with the drill, but with the emory board aswell. I keep acrylics on my nails, but decided to go to city nails because i had a gift card. 12 hours later and my nails are KILLING me. They are super sore, and i have raw skin on 4 fingers. Also, I chose pink & white ombre, which is a very popular nail style... there is a line where the white starts, no ombre at all. I am kind of embarrassed to keep my nails like this until I have the time to fix them. I did choose to not say anything to her about my nails because I was not willing to sit through any more torture. The whole time I was getting my nails done, the woman kept trying to persuade me into getting the powder dip. I feel as if she was probably more skilled in that area, but I was not willing to do that. They have a sign on the door saying walk right in but was scheduling everyone who came in hours out throughout the day. Only 2 women there could do acrylics, and the one who did mine butchered them.

If there was negative ratings that is what I would give this place! My teenage daughter went here alone and they destroyed her nails. They actually preyed off her tips. She is left with very thin weakened nails from the improper removal along with an infection on her pinky. Im going to file a complaint with the health dept or who ever will listen!!!!!

Every time I visit it is always an upbeat atmosphere and the staff is always very friendly. Danielle is by far my favorite nail tech in this salon, she is very carful with her designs and definitely makes sure youre 100% satisfied before leaving.

I took my daughter here to get her nails done and a pedi for prom. I had never had acrylic nails bc i have always done something that didn’t allow for acrylics. They were short staffed and very busy, but when she was done, I was pretty sure that mine were not a good job, she didnt even try to cover the cuticle area or the edges. They didn’t dry my daughters nails bc she was getting a pedi, so one of hers was smudged and had to be redone. There are several chips on them already, and it has only been one day. I don’t know if i want to go back to have them fixed bc they were just in too big a rush and i dont have time to get my Daughter’s fixed before prom, so....

Everyone was nice but the polish starting chipping after a week and I needed a pedicure again.

My wife speaks Portuguese, therefore difficult to work with Japanese speaking attendants. She also said the job was fair and not totally happy with it.

The owner Todd told me I couldnt come back because it takes to long to service me. Lol, I get my nails done here., and if you get designs on your nails it does take a while but I pay!!! But the girls that do nails there are slow anyways.... I had been spending 40 dollars on my nails every 2 weeks for months. .. one time a girl was doing my nails and kept piling on nail Polish because she kept messing up. When I asked her to stop, she started crying and telling me she did a good job, (but she didnt) then stood up yelling and pushed another worker. She acted like a basket case. I was shocked!!! Todd thank me and asked me to come back. I continue to come back faithfully every 2 wks also referred dozens of new people there. Then the day before Easter that happens with my eyelashes, not to mention they kept falling off before I left. The sweet girl, wanted to keep trying to fix them, then she told me she could remove them or get my money back. So Sunday when I wake up and almost all are gone except maybe 3, Hell yeah I would like to get my money back. I go in there Monday and ask Chelsea the other owner if she will just put the 40.00$ to in-store credit. She told me to hold on, she called her husband Todd, and he asked to speak to me, Only to find out that I couldnt come back because it takes his employees too long to do their jobs! What a jerk. I was so confused and my feelings was and still are very hurt.

My friend and I went into city nails spa yesterday and wanted to get our nails filled in. We originally were going to go to us nails and made a wrong turn and ended up at city nails and decided to go for it. It was only 5:20 and they closed at 7:30 according to their door. There was not many people there and we decided that it should be fine. We walked in and an older Asian woman asked us what they could help us with and we kindle explained we would like to have our nails filled in. The lady huffed and then proceeded to roll her eyes as though it was a problem and didnt say anything for a moment. My friend and I told her to forget it that we would go somewhere else instead since it was such an issue. Sorry we asked you to do your job. I sincerely hope this lady was just having a bad day (no excuse) and does better customer service than we received today.

The only reason I gave them one star was because I couldn’t give ZERO. I went in as a walk in, which is clearly posted on their door, “walk right in”. It was more than an hour and half prior to closing time, no one was waiting, yet I was told they were “booked for the night”. Extremely rude, I was completely dismissed.
