We (4 of us)went here for a color change, pedicure and manicure. We got there about 6:30 pm and the guy had us sign in and told us it would be about 30-45 minutes so we went and got food. One got a call saying they were ready for her, so we all walked back to the salon. They done the pedicure and manicure. Me and my daughter waited and they never said a word to either of us. Finally got my color changed and done. While we were waiting, they took 3 people in front of us. After my daughter was done, from the time she walked from the chair to the register, her thumb nail was messed up. I asked for it to be fixed or a discount. He said but he could fix it for a extra charge. Really we hadn’t even walked out of the salon. Today she has several nails messed up!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Will not be using these people again. Staff was rude and not friendly. L’Etoile is the best hands down!!

My friend and I went to get pedicures for vacation. We wanted gel. after almost an hour of waiting for our polish, the worker informed us that the other guy did “not want to do gel” so he had to use regular polish. They refused to give us gel polish… which is not difficult. will not be back. On top of it, they opened a new package of tools for my friend but used the same tools for ME as they used on her. Unsanitary.

So I figured I would try this place because it was conveniently in the Johnson City Mall. Well, I left one toenail short (LITERALLY). During my pedicure service I felt pain while the lady was using the drill along with a sharp tool to remove my old gel nail polish, chipping/pulling the polish off. In removing the gel nail polish, she pulled off my toe nail! I pulled away when it suddenly really hurt. She pinched my toe (I think knowing what she had done) and continued to work. She finished quickly and slid my shoe on. Well, I get home and take off my shoes and my pinky toe nail is GONE. No wonder I flinched in pain!EDIT: I was offered a $25 gift certificate to return whenever my nail grows back.

The service was friendly and very nice but after 4 days of getting gel polish manicure the polish started to peel off.

I went here to get a mani/pedi and I specifically asked for the basic pedicure because I was kind of in a hurry and didn’t really want anything else at the time. My friend and I both said spa pedicure when asked. However, at checkout I was charged for the deluxe. When I said that wasn’t what I asked for and got she basically said oh well you’re paying for it and only took $5 off.On top of that the Gel on my nails is not good quality at all.Please don’t go here unless you want your nails to look like trash and have them charge you for what you didn’t ask for after multiple times of saying what you want.

I made an appointment yesterday for 6:15 there were 2 people in front of me which was fine I told them I would go look around the mall. They called me at 7:50 saying they were ready for me.. I went down there and they still weren’t ready for me. I got my stuff and left. I felt like it was very unprofessional and I will not be back.

I went and got a mani/pedi and after waiting over an hour, when I had an appointment, they finally got to me. My toes looked fine but they rushed on my fingers and left the edges covered in polish. The next day I noticed my gel nails bubbling and pulling off my nail. When I went in they said the most they could do was fix it after I wait another hour. When I asked for a refund instead they said the most they could do was fix it. Poor service and quality after being a customer here for 5 years.

I only go to this nail salon in Johnson City! I’m picky and like trendy nails and I only trust them to do the style nails I like. Plus it’s nice if there’s ever a wait, you can just shop around.

Super happy I came here. My nails turned out amazing, best set Ive ever had. I recommend the red headed woman. I unfortunately did not catch her name but she did so good. The complimentary glass of wine was great too!

I went and got a pedicure and it was average. I got a full set of acrylics and my nail tech had to start over. After starting over my nails took over two hours to get what I wanted to be a simple, short full set with normal silver sparkly polish well they’re not as short as I wanted and I have acrylic glue all over my hands and fingers and multiple cuts

Went and had my nails done and within one week the gel polish was peeling off. Went back to have it correct. Tech I spoke with was not only rude but basically blamed me for the polish coming off. Wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

My nail guy is Vincent, he knows how I like my nails and he is the only one who touches my nails. Him and Vinny keep it fun while getting nails done. Great clean place

They are okay at painting nails, but terribly dishonest and will scam you if they can. Watch for jacked up prices or getting something you specifically told them NOT to do.

Stopped in while in Johnson City. I had a pedicure. The place is very clean. All the equipment looks new. The best part was the massage. I have never been given such a good leg and foot massage. And my toes look beautiful too. Will definitely be back.

We came in 20 minutes before close needing two fill ins, a fix, two gel polish changes, and reshaping. The gentleman stayed well past close (its almost 11 PM and my friend is still getting her nails done) and still did an amazing job. Absolutely no complaints, my nails came out so amazing, he earned a $17 tip.

I LOVE going to La Vie! It’s always apparent to me that everyone here works VERY hard! The standard is set very high. It is always very clean and I love the fact that a brand new liner is placed in each pedicure tub before my awesome pedicures! My wife has had several techs do her acrylic and shellac manicures and she is ALWAYS HAPPY!!! We understand when they are busy, and we remain patient and kind. Everyone here is experienced and helpful. We love the selection of pedicures and the fact that if we want a glass of wine, soda or water, that the staff always gets that for us! My wife loves the huge selection of polish colors also!Thank you La Vie for working so hard! We love coming here and we will come back, and send our friends for years to come!

I signed in and they told me they would call me when i was ready. they called me and i ended up waiting an hour before i got my nails done. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF IN A HURRY. they weren’t even busy. didn’t do a very good job either. they didn’t get my cuticles or anything.

Angie does such a great job! Gentle touch but soothing massage when doing my pedicure. And my nails always look fabulous when I get them done by her. I highly recommend her, plus she is super sweet.

This place is amazing!! Everyone is so friendly and they treated my daughter and my self like royalty. My 6 yr old daughter has a prosthetic and she said she felt like a real princess. Our nails look fabulous!!

Place was terrible! The guy never asked me what kind of pedicure I wanted and when he started I told him what I did want and he supposedly went to change the scrub and lotion and he definitely did not. I asked for orange and got lavender. I also told the tech I had one side of my big toenail that felt like it was getting ingrown. He dug and dug into the side of my toe and it hurt so bad! Ive gotten plenty of pedicures where I have told them the side of my toe was getting ingrown and never have been hurt so bad. To top it off I now have a horrible infection on that side of my toe. I really dont think he used a clean tool!! Sure the complementary drink was great but not for the pain I went through and am going through! If I could give them zero stars I would!! Do not go there!!!

I am shocked by all these negative reviews. I had a beautiful ombre manicure done here and everyone was very kind and working very hard. It was busy and they were really hustling for everybody. I wish I could remember the name of the gentleman who did my nails- it was the gentleman with the tattoo sleeve and the star on his neck. He did a wonderful job and did my nails exactly as I requested. Im very pleased with it!

I went with my friend here so she could get her nails done. She specified she wanted both a manicure and a pedicure.They told us they could get us in right away. They did my friends toes and she sat with them drying. We waited an hour plus (after asking several times)for them to do her fingernails. They started taking other customers for manicures before hers. They took her order for a drink and never brought it. They were very rude, ignoring us and doing things very distractedly. The nails ended up looking bad and only lasting a few days, and it was very expensive. Do not go here.

Made an appointment to have my nails done for my wedding. We arrived on time and were immediately seated. We did have to wait a bit for service, but only about 15 minutes or so. The man who did my nails did an excellent job. They also offered us complimentary wine and water. I did not give five stars because, although it was clean, the shop looked a bit cluttered and disorganized. Also, there was no one there to put a design on my nails. Ive never been to a shop where no one in the building could do simple nail designs for a pedicure. I did hear them say that one person was on vacation, so maybe that was why?

...hmmmm...I never thought I would be reviewing a spa/nail salon, but here I am...fellers, take care of your feet...you only get one pair...these folks are super friendly and professional, and if youve never had a pedicure, you would not believe how good they make your battered feet and legs feel...and tip well; anybody that has to touch my feet deserves all the money they can get...

This was the most unprofessional nail place I have ever been too. Not only was the nail tech watching tv on his phone while DOING my nails. The other staff were not very customer service friendly. Not one smile was givin, it really felt like you were bothering the employees that werent working on someone. Most of the employees were on the phones sitting, one was even sitting in a pedicure chair with his feet up. It blows my mind that those employees are still there, and act like that with customers sitting waiting for their business. I do not recommend this place. I wish i wouldve taken pictures.

Im very disappointed. I went there for the first time 3 weeks ago for a fill-in. The nail tech did my french tips and my design perfectly. My nails looked great, I was impressed. I went back today to have my nails filled in again. BIG mistake. I had the very same nail tech and she did a horrible job. One of my nails had lifted so she took it off. She didnt replace it. Just put the acrylic over my real nail. Now, I have one skinny short nail and 9 acrylic nails. She didnt paint the pink tinted clear over the bottom part of my nail and only put one coat of top coat. All of my nails look like they have air bubbles in them. This cost me $40. Will end up costing me even more to get someone else to fix them. I only went there because of convenience of the location. Wont make that mistake again.

This was my second visit to La Vie. I was recommended to a nail tech there by my realtor. The first visit was great and the nail tech did a great job. So, I requested her this time and took my daughter with me (she had a different tech). It was like night and day. My tech seemed to be sick or just out of it. She was really slow, barely scrubbed my feet, didnt cut a couple of my nails that I had requested. She suddenly got up without explanation and asked another tech to take over for her. She went to the back and the other tech took over for her. I told my daughter that I thought something was wrong with her that day and she may have overheard it or sensed that I was not happy. She seemed mad at me and came out later and told me that she wasnt feeling well and if I came back in to ask for the tech that was doing my nails at the time... that he was much better. It was the worst pedicure Ive ever had and a very uncomfortable situation all around. Ill never go back and would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

I come here from greeneville. They always do a great job. Today was my first pedicure ever. It was great. I got a full set also. Only complaints is the guy who did my nails was very slow & had a bad attitude I think. Also they keep raising the prices. Two pedicures at 28 each & a full set at 30. Should have only been 86, they changed us 95. I have no idea why. I didnt get gel polish or anything extra. Other then that its great.

So been goin and it was good went to get mine removed and redone first he did not soak them off just pryed them off as i screamed several times in pain clipping into parts of my natural nail. The nails are very thick and short. I ask for several designs that could not be done settled for daisies that loot like polka dots i am so mad and upset

Called the day before and made an appointment for 2 pedicures the next day, came in at 2:00 the next day and they had no record of my appointment and the man we talked to (who I later found out was he owner) was incredibly rude. We sat for 20 minutes before we got stated. My boyfriend had Angie and she was freaking amazing!!!!! Took her time and talked and cared and the lady I had was so quick and didn’t care about the work being done. While waiting for my toes to dry we just watched and the owner was supposed to be doing a ladies nails and was on his phone the whole time. He was holding the phone up right infront of his face and didn’t put his phone down ones in the 20 minutes we sat watching. When we got up to pay the men stared at us and would not help us. Over all, I’m incredibly disappointed and mad over the experience I had. But Angie was absolutely amazing and if I go back she will be the only one helping me.

Terrible customer service. They take forever to get you in, and everyone who works there is rude. The white woman with red-ish hair was extremely rude. Huffed and puffed everytime I asked for anything. She did a terrible job on my toes. Barely scrubbed or massaged. Shellac was lopsided, and she filed my toenails into oblivion to where they barely exist. The guy with the sideburns (owner maybe?) just kept talking about how he wants money not thanks. He talked about wanting money for a good 15 minutes. I tried to ignore it, but it became obvious when I went to pay and it was $150 for a pedicure and full-set. I asked them why it was so much when the book said $30-something for a pedicure and $30-something for a full-set. The lady mumbled something about $5 this, add-on that. I could pay $75 MAX anywhere else and have what I had done at La Vie but BETTER.Literally go ANYWHERE ELSE but here. It’s convenient because it’s in the mall, but it’s worth your TIME and MONEY to drive 4 minutes and go to a city nails up the road.

The staff in this salon is very professional and does beautiful work... They create mani/pedi masterpieces! Lots of nail colors to choose from, plus it is immaculately clean. I highly recommend them! ❤️💅🏼

The last time I was there the nail tech cut me a few times during my service. Then, adding insult to injury I was Disgusted when the tech took the foam toe spacers that he used on my feet and put them back in the bin with the others to use on someone else. As if That wasn’t enough for Me not to go back a couple days later my toe gets infected. I’m nursing so now I have to discontinue nursing for a bit so that I can take antibiotics. I won’t be returning.

I went in to get a pedicure. I havent been here in over a year because of how rude they have been in the past. It was the worst experience I have EVER had. I made it clear how simple I wanted it and they just did not get it. They ripped and ruined my nails and then over charged me 20$ after I sat for 2 hours and they ruined my feet. They look god awful and I would never recommend this place to anybody. Ever!

This place is terrible. I got a color change with gel. Took them 2 hours to do. Employees, were incredibly rude. Older man did mine and he was new. He had no clue what he was doing. Only 3 people working. I waited an hour. My nails are crooked and smudged a day later. Owner, talked about me in a terrible way to his friends. Charged me $20 JUST for a color change, and expected me to leave a tip. never again will I go back. Do not, give them business.

The lady I had didn’t listen I said coffin shape and she was doing almond shape then cut me and kept pulling my arm closer to her even tho she noticed I was pregnant and was already touching the table also my nails came out very crappy and different shaped on each hand but the guy my friend had did amazing so if you go I’d go to one of the guys bc it’s obviously they know what they are doing

The salon Id been to for years closed, so I tried here because of convenience. I was given a tech that spoke no English, and everyone was quite rude. I went back to give them a second try, better tech but she picked out 2 colors I hate, then wouldnt change them! Im needing a polish change now but I wont go back!

Got my nails done on a Saturday with shellac two days later all peeled off. Went back then it did the same thing same day. I have always had my nails done at different places and it has never done this.

Nail Technician was massage and nail service was great. I gave a two star review based on the lack of cleanliness of the salon.

My gel manicure lasted less than a week. The lady barely spoke English and was incredibly rude. Do not waste you money even for the time and convenience. It is not wort it. I regret even leaving a tip for the poor job she did.

I specifically said I wanted just a manicure and regular Polish. I explained I have great nails naturally and did not want anything to weaken them. She said to do dip polish. When I asked if this would damage my nails, she said, it good for nails. After using a dremel (sp?) tool on my nails she applied about 10 layers of this junk on my nails. I found out it is acrylics.- now have this junk on my nails and no idea where to go to get it off. $50 and lied to.

Worst place in Johnson City for nails. Had a complaint and manager hung up on me!!! Wouldnt solve the problem ..all employes talking in there language and laughing . all employees walked away from me and wouldnt take care of me!! First they took forever getting us in and confusing other peoples appointments.I came in with a group we wanted full set gel. Fine then I have to explain myself.. I want UV gel and gel polish. The tech had no clue just kept saying gel... Another tech had to explain its just the polish they only carry acriclic. I told my tech I wanted oval nails for my shape. I started looking he was doing coffin... So I had to tell him that was not what I said... He pretty much told me I did say that.. He was paying more attention to the stupid book too keep up with his money. Rather than paying attention to me.. The acriclic was running so much it was snotty af... he had to use the cut off pieces to clean it up. Then other tech cut into my sisters finger with the file. We kept strong tried to finish our nails. Basically my nails are all wrong they are claws know not oval my sisters nails are lifted... I would not recommend this place I paid 49 dollars for something I didnt want very very poor services just money hungry in my opinion. Yes we stuck this out because it was new we wanted to check it out..

Every one of my nails are crooked. Not 1 is strait. I asked for them to fix them anc he said yes ang looked as if he was. Guess I should have checked before I got in the car. But after almost 2 hours No time to go back. Very disappointed

Very rude and unprofessional when speaking to my girlfriend. My girlfriend been going there for several months on a regular basis. She had an issue arise and whoever the assistant manager is refused to give her the managers contact information, or allow her to speak with them. Ive never heard an employee speak or behave to a loyal customer like she did. Also, she usually has a nail fall off after 1-2 days and has to go get it fixed.There are plenty of other nail places in Johnson City that are better priced, better quality, and treat there customers much better.Steer clear of this place.

Treated me terrible. After waiting almost 3 hours, I was told to use my phone to find a design that I wanted. We went through about 5 different designs because nail tech keptkept saying he didnt feel like doing that design. Owner sat right next to him and laughed the whole time. I will NEVER return and will tell everyone I know to steer clear of this place.

If I could give zero stars I would. Worst pedicure I have ever had and worst set of nails my daughter ever got. I had an American lady do my pedicure. She did not do anything well she barely scrubbed my feet I had to ask her to go back over them and she still didnt do a good job. She keep leaving going into the room in the back and she brought her phone out with her and was talking to someone while she was trying to do my pedicure then when she hung up she started texting while still trying to do my pedicure. She barely rubbed my legs and when she did the lotion she didnt even rub it in. She got polish all over my toes and I asked her to get it off but she didnt. The polish is all smuded because she put it on too thick and didnt wait for it to dry a little between the layers.My daughters set of nails was a disaster. The guy cut her twice. He put her thumb nail on crooked and her middle finger looks like its going to pop off its pointing upward. He was so rough with her she almost cried. Then we asked if a lady could fix one of her nails that was smuded and the lady I had fixed it but not without telling my daughter how she was wrong and the guy did a great job on her nails and made my daughter feel terrible. She did this was I was under the dryer and I couldnt hear what was going on. A three year old could of done a better job on our nails. We will not be back. Very disappointed!

I just thought I would let you know that we will NOT be coming back, and are VERY unsatisfied with our experience.I came in with my mother in law & said I wanted a full set (after being told it is 30$) I was given the color choices( not knowing that they were all gel & would cost me TWELVE extra dollars to have it) the man started my nails and they were ALL crooked. He had to fix them & kept apologizing. He then cut me in two differnt locations on each hand, and apologized again. My nails dont look 45$ worth AT ALL, and I could have gone somewhere else and paid WAY less and been more satisfied. My mother in law requested she wanted the 28$ pedicure.... well, same thing happened to her and she was charged 45$ for her color. My personal opinion and Im sure others can agree 12$ for 10 tiny nails to get gel is freaking ridiculous.85$ later & my fingers are sore from being cut, and we arent satisfied.

I usually go to Anns nails but decided to try this place cause my friend that was with me he could walk around the mall.They were so rude.made me feel so uncomfortable.Me and the guy that was my pedi we got into a argument cause i told him how unpleased I was.I promise I will never go there again and will tell all my friends and family..Someone needs to sue that place..I know they will not be in business long....Go to Anns.Her and her husband are great....

This was the worst customer service I have received in a nail salon, they have no sense of a wait time, then when I was told to go sit in a chair “over there” they didn’t even show me where and so when I sat one seat over from the one I was supposed to, I sat there for a few min without someone even acknowledging me, and when the lady with the red hair did she was telling me that I was in the wrong spot and that (name of some dude) would be doing them and didn’t even tell me who it was so I stood up and another employee was like no no no wrong chair, and told me to sit in front of the guy on his phone so I did and it took him at least 3-4 min to acknowledge me, and then when I did he just couldn’t even communicate to me what he needed me to do, so I told him I was doing a full set and luckily I had a picture so then he starts to do my nails taking a break probably every finger to check his phone which stayed on and in front of him the entire time he did my nails. I wouldn’t ever recommend going to this place. They don’t have prices posted anywhere and then rip you off with every single thing you need. Not worth time or money stepping in the place.
