The management is HORRRRIBLEEEEEE. Even after changing management This is literally the worse experience i ever had. Its college students everywhere so of course all u hear is partying, loud music, loud laughing, loud stomping & etc…I recently for the past 4months that i have being staying here have been having issues as far as the disturbing noises coming from upstairs right above me. These 2 college men are very disrespectful and they dont have any respect as far as the noise that they make everyday through out the day. Ive spoken to the old management and they said that they weren’t going to do anything if it is an flooring issue because of how much it cost. I’ve also reached out to the new management and they’re really not trying to hear nothing that me nor my boyfriend have to say. Basically just telling us to deal with it because they dont want have to go through the whole process of fixing the floor nor kicking them out due to the disturbance. No way that the noise that these guys make are normal. I’ve also got in contact with corporate and she offered us an option which was to break our lease with no penalty, but i dont feel we should have to go because of the ignorant college kids above us. I don’t understand why they have college kids scattered in every complex Instead of having them all in one complex in the veryyyy back We still are trying to find a solution but no one wants to here us and they act like they don’t want to give us the phone number for the people above them!! We pay to live here just as well as they do!!!!! OUR PEACE is just as IMPORTANT as theirs. I DOOO NOT RECOMMEND THESE APARTMENTS FOR ANY REGULAR PEOPLE, COUPLES, NOR SENIORS. Everything that looks good isnt always good for you !!!!!. What should I do??

Horrible management! So unprofessional literally the week we were suppose to move in she called us and said we can’t! Now what if we had nowhere else to go? And we were depending on moving into our apartment that we signed a lease for? They didn’t care they just were like oh well yea you can’t move in so good luck! Ugh I would not recommend to no one ever! I should’ve listened to the reviews before even deciding to go with them!

So far I have loved living here at the Heritage. The location is perfect walking distance from Downtown Hampton bars and restaurants, Air and Space Museum and Hampton University. I dont have any noise complaints and maintenance is super quick. My place is spacious and has tons of natural light. Call Kristina in the office if you have any questions!*13 month update 9/23/19—while my review of my actual apartment has stayed the same, my experience with the management company has drastically changed. New management took over suddenly over the summer and the level of customer service went with the old company. The business hours of the leasing office has no weekends which makes it extremely impossible to pick up packages if you work 8-5 during the week. Have a question? Shouldn’t be too hard to call, right? Communication with the property manager is like pulling teeth (and I should know, I work in dentistry). Days/a week can go by without a follow to a question or problem and its up to you to reach back out 2 or even 3 times to get a response. I even had the same issue when I contacted corporate for a problem. No appliance or concession upgrades were offered during my resigning and no one has cleaned the hallways outside my unit since the new company took over months ago. I do still love my actual apartment but my experience of living here has soured a *bit.

I have instant regret after signing this lease! It is not a welcoming start to say the least. Since I began moving into this new apartment (last weekend 6/30/18) my a/c unit has not been working at all. I’ve had to endure heat and misery through some of the hottest days we’ve had all summer with no air. I’ve documented with photos and recordings of my a/c problem so that I have evidence of the problem. After complaining about the situation maintenance looked and did what they could to no avail, had to complain some more and finally an a/c company came and inspected the unit and confirmed that the unit is bad and needs to be replaced all together. There is barely any air flow at all coming from the vents. He came and set the temperature to 69 degrees as it was 83 degrees at that moment in the apartment, 85 degrees outside, and realized that it has not dropped a single degree the whole time. Which was hours! I have records of the previous days to back that up as well, including air flow. He started investigating making sure the dampers weren’t closed (which they were not) and confirmed that the unit is bad and needs to be replaced after further investigation. The a/c company technician told the manager of the problem and what needed to be done to fix the problem, it was not the answer the manager wanted to hear and now another inspector is to come and take a look!!! Which is going to take another two to three days! I just don’t get it. It’s not working, the ac unit is bad, what’s the need for another inspector? To sway them to say otherwise and band-aid the problem for a lower cost and still have the same potential problems in the future just to get a bonus? Whoever is looking to move in, I just advise doing a thorough inspection of the “actual” unit you’ll be in and make sure the ac works (with nice flowing air) that it gets to temperature at a regular pace and unit cuts off properly, toilets flush and stops, bath tub drains, faucets work hot/cold water, outlets work etc... Learn from my mistake and check it all out. Don’t be blinded by new carpet and freshly painted walls. “It’s not how a car looks on the outside that’s makes it valuable, but what’s under the hood”. Just keep that in mind.

The experience was decent until the last few months of my sons lease. The alarm system was one of the reasons we chose this complex. Earlier this year they cancelled the service with 1 months notice. Then the cable/internet package that was provided with the rental agreement(paid for by tenant) was cancelled which was a night mare dealing with the cancellation and re-establishing service. We later found out these things were cancelled due to non payment by the complex. Upon lease termination because of my son graduating, we cleaned the apartment thoroughly. Almost $300 of my $500 security deposit was retained due to the carpet which was not new when my son moved in, could not be cleaned and supposedly had to be replaced. The carpet when we left was not ruined and had normal wear, especially for a college student residing there for almost 2 years. Did I mention, that there was a large area rug in the living area covering the carpet. It was disappointing to find that they charge you for cleaning the carpet when you leave. Never heard of a complex charging for cleaning. I was told that the cleaning would cost more than replacing, so they charged for replacement. They told me that the carpet was replaced in 2015 and they like to get 5 years out of carpet so we had to pay for it. Cant help but think that financial issues caused the retaining of security deposit. Overall experience until the last 5 months was decent. Renter beware and just now that you will be paying for a carpet when you leave.

My AC hasn’t functioned properly (no air at all) since I’ve moved in. Since my move in maintenance has come out 3 times and an Air Conditioning Company has come out 3 times as well to “fix” the issue. It is going on 3 weeks and the issue has yet to be handled. I’ve only been given a window unit to cool my room through the night however everytime the issue is “fixed” the unit is removed right after, leaving me to sleep in the heat.

I love the Heritage. As a college student, this is the perfect getaway from campus and the activity there but close enough to not miss a beat. To top it off, it feels like high luxury living for a low price!

This is a safe spot with convenient distance to several shops, post office, banks and major roads. Parking is tight. There is a free public garage for visitors near the property. The office staff is nice and attentive.

Its ok if you dont mind the constant haze of marijuana smoke invading your apartment along with the constant noise of drunk and high individuals raising hell at 2 am. Without a doubt the worst complex in the area. Further more it states in the lease that they provide a drug free living environment.

I would not suggest this housing to any military families or anyone that is not a college student. These apartments are essentially an extension of Hampton Universities dorms and youll definitely notice that. We should have known better than to live here because of the struggles we had with the leasing office before moving in. It took them over 3 weeks to send us the paperwork they kept promising to send us the following day. The only redeeming quality about these apartments is that they are new which means they were clean and relatively updated. Once we had lived there for about 3 weeks the people above started playing crazy loud music every night. It was miserable. We called the courtesy police at the apartment more than 10 times over the course of a few weeks and they never seemed to do anything about it because this continued for almost 3 months. Our apartment entrance always smelled awful because the smell of marijuana came down from the above apartments into ours. We lived in a first floor apartment. If you do live here and are given a first floor 1 br apartment be wary that in the bedroom you will have a large sliding glass door in your room. It let in so much light and since a fairly busy street of downton Hampton is right outside, it was very unsettling. On top of that, there were always people walking by and we had at least 3 situations were people randomly knocked on our sliding glass door to our bedroom and another situation where my husband was harassed as he left our apartment. Its not a good area nor is it a good apartment for anyone besides college students. On top of all that, the leasing staff turnover was insane. There were new people in the office every few months and none of the people who worked there when we moved in worked there by the time we moved out a year later.

These uncaring, inconsiderate, moronic, pieces of trash that work in the rental office in this place ! They called me out of my name when I tried to explain a certain situation to them. The manager acted like he didnt even care about me or my well-being. Let alone the well-being of others because their property could have been damaged with this situation ! The rent is too high ! The Air Conditioning unit is always either too hot or too cold. Peoples dogs lick you and their owners smile at it! Like what the heck, this doesnt even make sense! The Heritage has claimed the title of being the worst apartment complex that I have ever had the unfortunate pleasure of staying at!!!P.S. There are spiders everywhere! And these are supposed to be relatively new apartment complexes! So if you dont like spiders you better run run run!
