UPDATE.. RENTER BEWARE!! DONT DO IT!! DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! listen to the reviews and dont do it. The reviews are on point. Although I am not infested with any roaches or mice at all and maintenance is horrible. Parking is a huge issue and they dont care about that neither. Visitors park wherever they want. Corporate dont care neither. The excuse is we just dont have any workers. I wonder why.. that whole complex needs to be updated. They want your rent and thats about it. Dont do it!! You will regret moving here.I just moved into this complex in June 2021. The one thing that I will say is that as far as repairs and maintenance issues they are very slow to take care of them however it is a beautiful complex. So far it is fairly quiet. You have to maintain your own area to be sure that it stays clean. What I can say though is Ive seen a lot of reviews about roaches and mice. I personally do not have this issue as of today. But I can definitely see it being an issue because people are nasty. You just have to make sure that you keep your own place clean.Im thankful to have a roof over my head and although Im not 100% happy with my decision to live here it could be worse.

Here is my experience living out here since the new owners. I’ve had the same issue with a rodent inside my wall and trying to get into my room for over a year, possibly two. Maintenance has tried to help me and has offered to cut open the wall to check but the supervisor has refused the request on multiple occasions. Roach infested and rodent infested. You’d think since you’re paying rent they’d fix these issues instead of you having to ask MORE than once just for nothing to still not change. Not to mention, the washing machines do not work half of the time or need to be repaired because dirty water overflows in them. The machines will take your money for laundry as well then read “error” if you take it out too early, making you have to pay again. No type of reimbursement. Dog owners do not pick up after their pets. The buildings and playgrounds are decades old. The gym needs maintenance half of the time as well and the door for the clubhouse isn’t always open during the time it’s posted on the door. Very happy that I’ve moved out. This is a warning to others looking for a place to stay. The amount you pay for rent does not equal the amount of quality you get with these apartments.

Thanks to everyone for their honest reviews. There is obviously a reason this seems to be the only affordable complex on the peninsula at this time. Cannot afford to trade one bad apartment for another. The apartments do look very nice, Ill give them that.

TL;DR: This is decent apartment complex (in the Hampton area) for the price as long as you are on the second floor and rent a renovated unit.I think that its important for people to have a long-term and honest review of this apartment complex, so thats what this review offers.A little background on me: Im in the military and wanted a place nearby the military base; the military basically gives everyone in this area the bare minimum to find a place to live, so our options are quite limited.I have lived here for about six months and can give a pretty good review of my experiences. My current unit is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment on the second floor. Also, my unit is renovated and includes the optional den.Well start with the good:Finding a decent place in Hampton for under $1200 a month is almost impossible, but the 1 bedroom apartments here fit that budget exactly.Square footage is actually pretty good for the price (especially if you get the optional den).Appliances and finishes are decent in the renovated units. Everything is stainless steel and the granite countertops are quite nice for food preparation.While I would recommend getting a unit with laminate flooring, they do replace the carpet when the units are renovated, so I got brand new carpet.A/C and heat is efficient and easily keeps the apartment at the set temperature.The second floor units have floor to ceiling windows, this ensures great natural light throughout the apartment.Service and maintenance is fast (usually just a day to two) and everything has been fixed the first time.Preventative pest control has come several times and the bugs have stayed at bay for the most part.The walls are really thick; you can hear people screaming/partying outside, but once youre in the apartment, you cant really hear anything. Also, the bedroom is placed far away from other apartments living spaces so that helps.And now to the honest bad:Ive heard the first floor has issues with noise and pests, so I would stay away from those units.They NEVER answer the phone; this goes for the leasing department and maintenance. For service requests, I just use the website and they come out quite quickly. For anything else, I just go to the office in person.Smells enter the apartment very easily whether its a smoking scent or a strong food scent, they all come in.The included gym is not super well maintained. Ive been multiple times when the treadmills needed servicing.The in-unit dryer is primitive and not great at quickly drying clothes.Conclusion:Honestly, this is a decent complex even if thats just because its better than everything else. Location is great (right next to the PTC and Langley AFB) and the price is right for this area. Lower floors may have more issues that I have, but my experience has been pretty good so far and I would be willing to sign another lease once mine is up (as long as the price doesnt increase too much).

DO not i mean do not move to this apartment complex. They have a serious roach infestation it does not matter how clean you are they will find their way to your apartment. I have contacted the rental office on numerous occasions with no response whatsoever. No one has came to spray not once after i have requested. So i had to take my own measures and attempt to fix the issue but these apartments need to be torn down. The attach door has been open since ive moved in and all types of bugs and rodents have came out of right next to my home. Still not one maintenance person has cane to close it after multiple attempts of communication! Its inhabitable and disgusting and i pay 1100 dollars a month gone to complete waste. Save yourself the headache of not feeling comfortable in your own home!

Black mold in the apartment upon moving in, and a leaking roof shortly thereafter. Workers were sent to fix the roof but it still leaks and its been almost two months since the initial work order request. The carpet under the leak was supposed to be fixed and all the ac ducts which are full of black mold are blowing a musty odor and have not been cleaned despite the complex staff saying they will fix all the above. Seriously understaffed maintenance crew as well. So if you have a lung condition and want to make it worse, rent here! Water damage throughout the apartment and moisture inside the apartment is such that the bed sheets are wet, and I had to buy a dehumidifier. The hallways are always dirty, there is an ear splitting ringing noise from the hot water heater that goes off multiple times per day. The gutters need to be cleaned and since they are clogged the ground floor patios tend to flood. The dumpsters are not emptied often enough and so there are huge piles of trash surrounding them much of the week. Terrible place to live, 0/5 stars.

One of the worst apartments I have ever lived!!! Management doesn’t care about the tenants!! They only care about the money!! I’ve seen roaches big and small. I believe my unit had a serious roach infestation. Maintenance takes forever to fix things and management doesn’t care. It really bothers me when ppl/management see things that are wrong and DO NOTHING TO CHANGE IT!!! If you don’t care about your job then just say that SIMPLE!! DON’T MOVE HERE YOU’LL BE DISAPPOINTED CONSTANTLY!!! The building is old and you can hear everything everyone does.

I honestly wanted to give 3 stars because of the location and pricing of the apartment complex, but on the other hand it’s been an ongoing struggle since I’ve lived here. My A/C has been out 90% of the time. There’s a revolving door of the maintenance staff and things don’t get fixed at a timely manner. Its been a horrible experience from the beginning. Oh, them responding is damage control.

I almost tried to move out here but a friend of mine did and said to just look somewhere else due to extremely loud neighbors. He cant wait for his lease to be up. Then I recalled the name of this place and it clicked, my sisters used to live here and I can vouch for what everyone is saying in the reviews. It was initially nice with a small roach problem which was annoying having pest control coming out. Nearing the end, the roach infestation was so bad I didnt even want to eat inside the place. Roaches crawling all over the place, on the walls and falling off the ceiling by the time they moved out. That was back in 2011 but sounds like its still a problem.. glad I did not move here!

I have contacted you guys a million times by phone and left a million voicemails for you guys claiming I owed a balance at move out I do not agree with this and would like to get this settled

If i could give this apartment no stars, then that would be my honest rating. Please, do not move here! Since living here, I have to constantly submit maintenance orders due to the fact that nothing is ever fixed correctly the first time & the lack of professionalism and knowledge of employees. The maintenance staff has ZERO respect for your homes, they will leave mud tracks, tools, miscellaneous trash, and dirt in your homes. Considering that there is a pandemic, the maintenance staff does not even bother to wear a mask when entering homes, You would think that would be common sense to an adult by now. Perhaps, you all should train your maintenance employees to wear a mask, be more knowledgeable in their craft & respect the homes of paying residents.

Quite possibly the worst place I’ve lived. No response from office unless you physically go in.. Maintenance requests are ignored. Apartments not fully renovated are in poor condition. There’s an ant issue in my apartment and I have to wait days to fix it when there’s literally things FLYING in my room. Yes… the ants have wings. BUYER BEWARE!

Staff is beyond rude, don’t rely on maintenance for anything cuz they won’t do anything and if they do you’ll be waiting months!!!, also they are very bad with keeping up with pest control

I don’t usually post reviews but this time I felt it was necessary.IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR APARTMENTS DO NOT LIVE HERE.I was living here while in school at Hampton University and it was truly a horrible experience.I have seen the biggest roaches I have ever seen in my life living there.The apartments in general are very old and dirty.The plumbing in my building literally was so old and messed up there was actual feces and toilet tissue coming up out of the ground.The staff are very rude and do not care about their tenants.I tried to get an issue resolved with the manager Jerica Teal and she would literally never return my calls or emails.I moved out months ago and Amanda Pence the accounts manager has been harassing me and trying to charge me with unnecessary and petty fees. She has no compassion or empathy; these are the type of people evicting tenants during a PANDEMIC.It’s disgusting.So once again if you’re looking for apartments DON’T stay here.YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Its amazing to me that you respond to negative reviews on Google faster than you do any portal messages or voicemails from your residents. I would love to call and discuss the grievances i have however, you all never answer the phone or return voicemails/e-mails so i will not waste my energy. Every single one of yall need to be fired.

I had an appointment to view these apartments today and decided not to go just based on the reviews alone. If I’ve learned anything, apartment reviews are IMPORTANT. It’s a shame, because they really do appear to be nice.

Ive never written an apartment review before but I feel compelled to now. The apartment itself is ok, I feel very homey inside my apartment and during the day it can be quiet. But come night time and all heck breaks loose. I almost didnt rent here because of bullet holes I found in the glass pane leading up to my original scheduled apartment. When I brought it up to the leasing office they were kind enough to move me away from that area and give me a small discount on the new place so I would still consider staying. I dont think it was worth it. The walls are so thin I can hear my neighbors conversations...not to mention the mid-week (almost nightly) partying that starts at 11pm and goes until 5am in the morning. Extremely loud music I can hear over my fan and so much smell of weed I wonder if I should be concerned that I get tested for my job. I kindly confronted the neighbors twice to no avail and then one night the police came. They stopped for about a week and then began again at 3am and blasted music until 7am. One day I saw a drug sniffing dog come through and their door was knocked on for about an hour. Again, a few days later the smell and music were back.Not to mention the condition of the landscape. The maintenance workers drive on the grass and create tire tracts in what little grass there is. This encouraged an individual moving in to drive their uhaul onto the sidewalk and up to their apartment, getting stuck in the mud and having to be towed out. Now there is a huge mess in front of my place.People consistently have guests over and take up the parking spaces, which isnt enforced because individuals will consistently and permanently park in handicapped spaces. Im so glad I didnt sign a 2 year lease like I thought. My lease is up in April and I WILL be moving out.

This apartment complex is extremely terrible and needs to knocked down they have rodents in the units and don’t take the matter of the situation seriously I have three small children and I find it very unprofessional and indeed not safe for my children to live here they charge you a thousand dollars for these rinky dink rundown apartments nothing never gets fixed and this is the second time I moved to a new unit with the same problems only time they patch the apartment up is when you moving out the whole rodent thing is a major issue and I feel like they don’t care as long as you pay them for rent i am extremely fed up and will not be renewing my least once it’s up I advise NO ONE TO LIVE. Very poor service, management did not return phone calls about the office cashing my September check early on 8/28. They do not care. In the same voicemail as my check I asked they come pick up my washer and dryer because I did not want to pay extra for, they did that! No call from the manager that I left two voicemails to. If anyone knows upper management please let me know.Now since I posted publicly, the office is willing to talk but when I called the manager and left messages twice, they came and got my washer and dryer having me know they received my voice messages yet never called regarding depositing my September check on 8/28. This just shows the selfishness of the management at this location.

Roaches should be added to the list of amenities! There is nothing that pest control can do because they live in the walls, so dont bother calling! I had roaches in my microwave, Keurig, and even saw an antenna trying to come out of one of the sockets in the dining room. Thank God I never saw rats or mice (like Ive read in other reviews), because I probably would have died. If PG didnt have a rodent problem, this would probably be a nice place to stay. Yes the location is great, but if you dont want permanent pets in your unit, then avoid this place.

I have a friend who lives in these apartments and she has been trying to reach someone to fix her AC for several months. No one has helped. She has two small children who are drenched in SWEAT because it almost 90 degrees in her apartment. Clearly they don’t care about the wellbeing of their renters or the fact that children are suffering. I wonder what it will take for them to finally care and help?! This is a warning to anyone especially those with kids, think twice before looking here.

Dealt with rats not mice, RATS!. Others have dealt with roaches but I did not have this issue so I can’t really speak on that much. However, I was not the only tenant that was dealing with rodents. There were 3 other residents that were moving out the same week as us for the exact reason. The pest company told the office exactly where they coming from and they won’t do anything about it. So glad I found something bigger and better and not worry about big rodents in my home.

I’m a current resident and considering moving out. Nothing but constant problems since moving in, in March. Haven’t had the mouse problem (knock on wood) but I have seen a fair share of roaches. I don’t get stuff delivered to my apartment because I’ve had two packages stolen. I have had to constantly call maintenance with none stop issues my very first day my heat wasn’t working, last month my shower stopped working for a week, now it’s been close to a month without AC my apartment is set to 50 but it’s currently 83 inside my apartment. It’s cheaper than most now I know why.

We had to rent sight unseen due to an out-of-state move and Peninsula Grove couldn’t have been more accommodating! Miss Glenda was awesome and helped us get everything in order. Our apartment was exactly as described and even had some additional features like floor to ceiling windows that we are very excited about. There are a ton of amenities, safe package delivery through the Luxer system, plenty of parking, very centrally located, and very quiet. This worked out well for us!

Every one that works here is very nice. I have never had any complaints about this place so far. It’s one of the only apartments I found that do not have carpet throughout the apartment. Also allows dogs, has a security guards walking around, and it is 2 minutes from the Peninsula town Center.

I came in to checkout this complex because I needed to downsize from the one I was currently in. I had a great experience touring this property with Josh. He answered all of my questions and informed me of the specials they were running at the time. He was very kind and knowledgeable, thanks Josh!

Honestly i like these apartments but it’s a lot of issues that i have problems with. It’s in a great area it’s peaceful in a sense. But my number 1 issues is roaches, they act like they pay rent! I have kids that’s disgusting, it’s a mouse in here the office never answer the phone unless you acting like you calling to move in. Maintenance don’t come right away but days later .. Saying all that i like it out here tho but they gotta control these pests man and answer the phone and fix the issues in the apartment .. if those problems was fixed this would be perfect

Terrible place to live. Maintenance takes weeks to answer to calls, police are always there, they gave up our new apartment and did tell us till days before we were suppose to move in forcing us to try and find a new place within a couple of days. Terrible service, one of the absolute worse places I have ever lived in my life. The place is trashy, and poorly maintained. Don’t live there.

They lure you in with a beautiful apartment for viewing & wonderful amenities but once you move in the apartments that are actually for rent are disgusting & for the whole year I lived here the hot tub & sauna never opened (they arent even state approved). Our whole apartment building had roaches & there is a rat living in the walls. We were sitting down eating family dinner & the rat ran out from behind the dishwasher to behind my stove back to behind my dishwasher. Also parts of the apartment were very moldy (bathroom cabinets, pantry floor board, parts of ceiling) staff is excellent but it is not worth how disgusting the actual apartments are.

I recently moved into peninsula grove Apartments. I was concerned about the reviews I was reading but signed my lease anyway. The staff especially the assistant property manger (Brittany A.) was very helpful. She walked the apartment with me when I moved in and addressed any concern that I may have had. I never notice any irritation or unwillingness to help. The level of customer service I have received has been outstanding I’m sure I will be happy here!!!

Glenda was very very helpful and I love my apartment, no major issues. I am very pleased with their service so far.

Lived here since April and I really wished I would have waited to explore more options before I chose this place, these apartments really aren’t good, I can’t take these roaches, I never grew up living like this, if I wanted to be around roaches I would’ve slept in the freaking streets, it’s really ridiculous to the point where I don’t even want company sometimes cus I never know when one is just gonna pop out, the area in itself is nice but these apartments are a no, I definitely wanna break my lease and go elsewhere

I’ve had nothing but issues with this complex! My roommates and I paid the holding fee for one apartment but they ended up giving us another one with a completely different floor plan! What was the point in paying the holding fee if we don’t even get the apartment that we paid for? When we moved in the place was a mess, the patio door was shattered, and the fridge smelled like rotting fish! There’s been a roach problem from day one and they don’t seem to care, the walls are paper thin so I can hear my neighbors fighting all the time, the complex smells like weed, the dumpster was LITERALLY SET ON FIRE by some of my neighbors, need I go on? This is the literal worst place I’ve ever lived! I will NOT be renewing my lease!

Glenda or Glinda unsure how to spell, who works in leasing office is RUDE. Probably the most unprofessional individual I’ve been in contact with. She has an attitude every time & has smart antics to say as well. Let me remind you, you work in a customer service based job. And if your attitude is going to be ugly, and you hate your job as much as you should hate your personality then GET INTO ANOTHER JOB FIELD. Ridiculous.

Applied here and paid the application fee and the $150 holding fee. Didnt get the apartment and my fiance has been waiting since September 10 to get the money back. They have given him excuse after excuse and now wont answer his calls. I would nkt recommend applying here because they are lying about returning the money.

This is NOT the move. Avoid peninsula grove apartments at all costs. If youre living in your car or hotel to hotel by all means its better than that. But if you have any other oppurtunity to live somewhere else....do that. Ive been there 3 weeks and im so uncomfortable, afraid, angry, disgusted, confused and could go on. My unit was filthy when i arrived. Dirt all over the floor, stains on walls and light switches. Broken light fixtures from day one. Broken refrigerator. Broken door knobs. I cleaned everything top to bottom with bleach water. A few days in, i notice mouse droppings and have seen roaches everyday since entering. I understand your going to have some kind of issues wherever you go but the huge problem here is the lack of response by the people in the office. They will not answer the phone unless youve called a minimum of 5 times. When they do answer theyll lie and say theyll send someone out or check on it and get back to you, with no resolution. A maintenance man came to my unit to fix some of the issues. He looked at the light fixture and said it just needs a new bulb but its too hot to change right now so ill be back in 2 or 3 hours. Its coming up on 2 or 3 weeks and still no light bulb change. He also has failed to caulk the multiple holes and entry points for the mice. I had to hire my own exterminator to come out to my unit because the office lied and said they sent someone even though I was home all day and nobody came. They admitted to having no knowledge of mice and proceeded with low concern after being informed. This has been a nightmare. Me and my 3 kids have been piling up in one room since i realized were in an infested unit. This is the only room mouse poop has NOT been sited, fingers crossed. Im not used to living like this and i have never had to in any other apartments ive stayed in. We all go through things and if youre down right now and have no choice, please get a roof over your head even if its out here but if you have any other option i highly suggest going somewhere else. Please email me if youd like pictures and/or videos of key areas of concern for renters looking to move in to draw your own conclusions. This is a Costly decision that you should take very seriously.

The apartments have roaches and flies, My car was shot in the parking lot and the complex offered no compensation due to it being an isolated incident Which is quite funny considering you should get used to the sound of a pistol being fired if you plan on staying here. The staff is incompetent and will claim management is the reason they can never help you do anything, despite never hearing from management. Piss poor, there are plenty of other options available in Hampton and I regret my time here severely.

The office staff is awesome and i have no complaints. I love my renovated apartment and the price was the best in the area and its close to all the shopping!!

Edited on 9/28/18: It has been about a year since I wrote my first review below. I now see what everyone else means (based off of other reviews) about the roaches and bug issue. No matter how much my husband and I clean & request for maintenance to spray, we are having a major roache and bug issue. Also, the halls are not being kept clean. There is dog hair, dead bugs & debris from outside. The common washer & dryer in the hallway, has had dead water bugs in it. Our vent in our master bedroom looks like it has mold. It is a shame that this complex isnt actively & consistently taking care of these issues more. The location and layout of the community/apartment is beautiful. Also, staff is extremely friendly and helpful. But unfortunately, my husband and I wont be renewing our lease unless we see changes made to better these conditions.First Review: My husband and I have lived here for a year now and loved it so much we decided to renew our lease here. The apartments are very modern and spacious. The community has a lot to offer for its residents and the staff at the community are very friendly and helpful. We have not had any issues and we look forward to another year here!

I currently live at Peninsula Grove and I personally am in love with my place. I have no problem with bugs, staff or neighbors. Where you stay is what you make it and no apt complex will ever come without any problem. But I will definitely recommend this place to all my friends and family. Chaz is Awesome!

Honestly I wish I could give no stars, I’ve been calling maintenance for over TWO WEEKS now. I’ve left several messages regarding issues in my home (Emergency issues) No one has returned my call at all. This is Ridiculous. I’m honestly disgusted with management here.

I see some of these bad reviews but the entire parking lot is full..I guess they just complain but dont leave..anyway my apt is excellent. No issues no problems and my neighbors are nice . As far as front office you treat them respectfully and they will treat you respectfully. Come at them all ghetto mouth and you will be handled accordingly. This complex is just like any other complex..a few bad residents live on all apt complexes. Maintenance is on point and property looks nice. You get what you agree to pay for as far as rent. Im In a classic unit and like it. Not a renovated but of course I cant afford that type rent. But happy with what I have. New property mgr erin is fantastic. Hope to keep having a wonderful stay here.

Honestly I would not recommend Peninsula Grove Apartments to anyone! The buildings have mold and mildew in them when you walk into the building it smells like dog pee the staff not all are rude but some are and the maintenance people never get the work orders done I was complaining about my carpet coming up in multiple places throughout my home for 6 to 7 months then when they finally got the carpet people out here they tried to say that the carpet was damaged due to our dog who we just got when the carpet people came out they fail to realize that we have been putting work orders in for the carpet for 6 months we put work orders in for our fridge for the roaches that they have and they only came out one time to spray for bugs sometimes in the bathroom you smell a sewage smell and as far as for parking nobody in the apartment complex knows how to park people speed up and down through the apartment and out in the yard and nobody picks up there animal poop me and my child have slipped in dog feces multiple times the staff for the apartment complex does not do what they are supposed to do everytime you go into the office they are laughing and joking around but then they always want to charge you for something something that they are supposed to fix or something that you did not do I would not recommend this place to anybody thats apartment complex lied to us and told us that they would fix our carpet after we signed our lease weary signed a 18-month contract and after that they refuse to replace the carpet I hate Peninsula Grove and have heard nothing but bad things from neighbors who still resign there

Loved my experience! Minor issues that were corrected in a very timely manner. Staff was very friendly and gave all information up front without any surprises.

Leasing office and clubhouse are kept very clean. Maintenance does a great job. They are very fast and reliable. I love the coffee in the clubhouse.

Just want to know what kind of management you got running a dump that has a family with small children with NO ac during the summer this shows a lot you people are clueless on how to run an apartment complex and don’t take care of your tenants

So far I havent had any complaints about the maintenance or front office. My fob to the gym has stopped working twice but the office was get quick to resolve the issue. Overall, the complex is quiet.

My husband and I really love our home, it is nice, we havent had many issues, and its convenient. The few issues we had are regarding roaches, as they are huge and we asked to have our home sprayed, inside and out. We also have a leak in our bedroom ceiling. And lastly, as polite and convenient as the front office seems, its difficult to communicate with them. We have called over the last 3 months regarding the roof in our ceiling and it is actually currently leaking, and leaked all night. The roaches seemed to have disappeared, but we never heard whether or not someone was coming in to spray or if they even did. Ive called several times today regarding an issue with my rent, and was placed on hold for at least 5 minutes and then when I called back was sent to voicemail twice. Still havent heard back. Our neighbors also smoke in the stairwell and play load music, but that isnt the complexs fault. We do love our home, it is comfortable, safe, and nice for myself, my husband, and our little one. We wish we could stay.

My experience was Amazing from beginning to end. Trip got me everything i wanted and needed in an apartment. He was willing to work with me and that is what i appreciated the most out of my experience. Also the apartments are Beautiful!!!! The BEST experience i have ever had!!!!

I have been a resident for a month and I absolutely love my apartment. The staff is wonderful and I love the atmosphere. Being close to shopping areas are a plus also

So I gave these apartments a chance at first. Now I have literally no more patience. The people above are so loud ALL DAY long because they have like 10 people coming in and out plus 10 kids running in and out jumping falling stomping around. I have complained numerous times about this and they dont care. They have no respect. Also, cockroaches are a HUGE PROBLEM. Every day I kill at least three. Big, small, tiny. Every kind of roach lives in these walls. Ive asked the pest control guy to open an outlet and we saw a family of roaches and a pregnant one. This was in the kitchen and then we opened the one in the bathroom as well. And roaches were in there too. This building is infested! I know they tried with the renovations which they did an okay job, but the underlying problems are not worth it. I can NEVER fully relax in my home. Which is why Im getting out of here the end of next month. Stay away from apartment #103...... I feel bad for the next tenant!

Jerica from the leasing office is very professional and Millie has been there forever and we all love her! I cant wait for the Jacuzzi to finally open (she said this month!) and I love the new gym!

A great place to live! Haven’t had any problem besides a few water bugs. If you go there ask for shamika barrette, she’s amazing and made the whole process easy and simple!

I have had the worse experience of my life at Peninsula Grove Apartments. I would not recommend this place to anyone at all. I will say that they have been undergoing management changes so they may be better in the future, but they are quite unorganized and have recently been changing managers quite frequently. The managers I had to deal with were quite dismissive of my complaints and rude. There was an ongoing bug problem, that was never solved, and the managers basically told me I was paranoid. There was also an issue with stuff coming from the tub, that the office said was soap scum. However, things that came out of this tub space was different colors, sizes, and sometimes bug legs would come out. They also never came to address mold that was in my bathroom, they assumed I was still talking about the stuff coming from my tub and ignored my complaint. I also had more than one water damage issue one that left mold covering the bottom of my living room wall. The major problem is that these buildings are old and they have not been renovated enough. I rented a renovated apartment and I had all of these problems. It is not worth the money. I recently thought I was done with them, but they are now trying to charge me $500 for a dishwasher I never used because I was too afraid to open it; I could only imagine what bugs and things would be in there. I dont know if my attached pictures will show up, but if you go to yelp you will definitely see some of what I had to deal with

. I do not recommend moving here if you want to live in a pest free home, the area is convenient for shopping and price but that is mit. Ready to leave as soon as we can!

If I could give this place no stars I would. This is the worst apartment complex weve ever lived at. My husband and I are counting down the days until our lease is up. Out of our five months of living in this community the ceiling in our master bedroom has caved in after snow and more as it snowed some more and rained some more. This occurred in January or ceiling was not replaced until early April. Such an inconvenience because we had to place large bowls but hearing that throughout this night isnt so peaceful, the room started smelling like mold and mildew. We called and came to the rental office multiple times to get no where for a very long time. Something in our apartment is always breaking like the fridge handle, blinds constantly falling, bug problems. No one ever answers the phone! I have to call more than SEVEN times to get an answer. Maintenance request never gets done in a timely manner. Always over a week and I have to call back which I mostly likely never get an answer so I have to go to the rental office to ask why my request has not gotten taken care of. Biggest regret ever moving here!!!! In July our ceiling started leaking again!!! The contractor that fixed the roof himself said the roof is pretty shot and its not in good condition. They will not transfer us for free or allow us to break this lease. The room smells like moisture/mold I asked management to send someone out to test it and make sure its not mold they send people to clean the ventilation system. Which does not test for mold!!!! Management and maintenance came out of course they act like they couldnt smell anything and belittled the situation. The worst apartment complex ever!!! If it wasnt $2000+ plus to break the lease we would have been left! I would highly recommend anyone to go anywhere else other than this place. 3more months to go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got sucked in by the sales team at the front office. I HAVE HAD THE WORST 3 MONTHS SINCE! BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!Pros: spacious apartment.Cons: GIGANTIC ROACHES ( I mean like, finger sized), EXTREMELY creaky floors, ceiling leaks, dirty hallways, parking is a nightmare, rent is a little ridiculous for the quality, Bathroom water smells like sewer water...I could go on forever.Its going to cost $2,000+ to break my 12 month lease (60 days notice plus 2 months rent), but at this point...this apartment is UN-LIVABLE. I have had ENOUGH.

I love the setup of the apartment o havent had many issues besides the ROACHES. No matter how many times the exterminator comes to fix the problem (2 times wirh in my 7 months living here) the problem still persist. If they can get rid of the ROACHES, THE SWAP, AND MOLD SMELL THIS WOULD BE A GREAT COMPLEX. They need to invest more into exterminating and getting rid of their pest.

I have lived at Peninsula Grove Apts since its start. i would highly recommend leasing an apartment here. the location is choice for both your mall, and grocery shopping needs. it is located directly in the middle of walmart, Coliseum shopping mall, and the Peninsula shopping center, all within walking distance. All the apartments have been renovated with new kitchens, and hardwood floors. Peninsula Grove provides a wide variety of apartments types that will suit the needs of families, new college students, and military alike. A definite must see if you are planning on living in the midtown Hampton area!

These apartments are discussing. They have squirrels in the vents that tend to come and go, they also have mice in the walls, and lots of cockroaches. The price for the apartments are not worth your frustrations. I have lived in both the newly renovated and the run down apartments and I have had major problems with both units. The newly renovated had major problems with wolf spiders. I have also dealt with my car being broken into on more then one occasion. I would suggest spending your hard earned money somewhere else.

The dollars work out better than other similar complexes in this area and for a bachelor pad, its perfect. Family - Id spend the extra for another a better neighborhood scene with play areas etc.

Getting the office on the phone is a struggle I constantly get forwarded somewhere else. My building smells like cigarettes and there are huge BUGS! I’ve been here for a few months and nothing changes!

Very happy living here, two of my employees also live here, and several people I know, this is a great place to live becuase you get a great deal on a NEW unit with luxury features that would otherwise be $1600 somewhere else, and its close to everything!

If you do, please read your lease and research state/federal housing laws so that you know your rights as a tenant.This is not a safe place to live whatsoever.I moved in May 2017 and since then have had multiple issues.The people that live above me are drug dealers. Theres constantly people in and out of their apartment 24/7. Theyre constantly throwing parties which results in my wife, my service dog, and myself getting minimal sleep, trash and beer bottles being thrown into the yard behind the apartments, and the smell of weed being able to be smelled from hundreds of feet away. Weve called the police on them and reported them to the leasing office many times, but every time we do, theyve retaliated in some way. Theyve dumped trash in front of our front door, kicked and punched my girlfriends brand new SUV leaving dents, and also have made obscene comments towards my girlfriend.The apartments themselves have a plethora of issues. When we moved in we were given a sheet to fill out with any issues with the apartment. Its been 5 months since turning that sheet in and not one thing has been fixed. Theres an abundance of roaches, spiders, and crickets infesting the buildings. Weve had the leasing offices exterminator come out to spray and he told us This will only be a temporary fix. Ive told them that theyll still be here after I do this, but they didnt care.At this point Im beyond pissed. Ive reported to the leasing office that theyve broken multiple sections of my lease as well as violated multiple housing laws and they seem to just not care.

This is my first apartment and at first I was skeptical of how it may be, it has been a great experience thus far and I couldnt be happier. The peninsula grove staff is very nice and very helpful. The apartment complex is at the perfect location it is literally within walking distance of anything. The neighborhood is nice everyone seems to keep to themselves and not bother anyone I live peaceful here and Im loving it. Im also in the military so I have a regular commute to and from naval station Norfolk Ive heard horror stories of the traffic but Ive never seen it I make it to work early everyday and I usually wake up later than I should. I haven’t lived in an apartment since 2010 so I was a little cautious about selecting the right apartment for me. I was looking for something affordable, conventient, and in a safe area in which Peninsula Grove Apartments offered. It’s acceasible to Town Center, the coliseum, and a host of retail and grocery stores. Brittany Neal made the whole process so effortless and the Apartments offered great promotions. They really cater to the residences by offering Ladies night out, Football Gatherings, Thanksgiving and Christmas parties in the clubhouse. Whenever I have an issues, they are quick to resolve it within 1-2 days and send follow up emails about the services. The Apartment complex is constantly reinventing itself for the better. Right now, they just built a small dog park for the residence to walk their little furry animals. I can’t say enough good things about this apartment but I truly enjoy my stay here and can’t wait to cool off by the pool. I had to write about it because I want others to experience a great living community.

I love it here. The employees are awesome. Jerry, milly, and Erin are the best you can ask for my whole building loves them. 2094 is here to stay.....

Has a really bad cockroach problem/ other bugs, apartments are old, nobody ever answers the phones, and maintenance just half ass everything. if they get the whole entire buildings together and upgrade them plus control these pest they would really be nice apartments

Discriminate against people who work off tips so don’t bother applying. They’ll waste $200 of yours and they’ll make you pay for a holding fee without even having an apartment on hold.Update:They have since called me to ask me to take this review down because they did attempt later to return my holding fee. But let’s be real for a moment, they still discriminated towards me based on how I made my income. And still had me pay a holding fee without an apartment on hold at all.

Would not recommend this place to anyone. Since living here I’ve been denied apartments because of damages done in the apartment which occurred after my name was removed from the lease and I moved out. I called to get these issues fixed was told I would receive a call back from a manager once they confirmed I was telling the truth. never received a call back. While staying there parking was horrible. I was denied a parking pass because my NEW car was in my fathers name So I had nowhere to park my car thank god I had a friend near by i stayed with her my last month there. Even before then it was hard to find a parking spot . Also dealt with big roaches Nd flying cockroaches through out the apartment. Never again.

DO NOT MOVE HERE!! Nothing gets done in a timely manner, ever! Maintenance just doesn’t care or work at all. Just had a pipe burst and no one is picking up the emergency maintenance line. Plus, There’s roaches and spiders everywhere and there’s only one washer and dryer in each building for 8 units to share. Please do not waste your time or money here.

Update, you got me living in conditions that violates health and fire codes since January!!!Everything is good except for the comunity they steal your mail, they throw trash everywhere, from the second floor to your balcony, dont pick up their pets poop, and if you didnt know no ones delivers here after 5pm I wonder why.

No problems at all....Staff is awesome!!! Maintenance gets 👍....Cant wait til the sauna and hot tub opens but Overall Peninsula Grove is a nice place to live.

I hardly ever leave reviews but this place is worth writing about. I was suckered into this place and though its cheaper than what my fellow grad students are paying for their homes, I regret my decision. Ever since I moved here Ive been hit with all kinds of problems; from black coal-like water coming out of my tub, to my actual tub being so old its stained and uncleanable, (the faucet is constantly running and the cheap paint is chipping away), to roaches and other pests in the apartment, to being fined for outrageous things. Case and point I got a $100 fine one day because a resident stated they saw me reading a book and driving. How preposterous?! Ive also had my Car towed because the parking lot is constantly full and for a young female who works the night shift, its quite dangerous to trek several feet across a dark parking lot to my apartment. The office hardly ever picks up the phone for the resident line leading to huge lapse in communication.The list goes on and on. Luckily I should be done with my graduate studies soon enough to get out of here.Edit: I added some pictures from the last few weeks.Roaches and their babies in the my bathroom and keurig after several pleas to have my kitchen disinfected .The constant struggle with My bathroom sink — I’ve placed several requests to deal with it - not resolved. bathtub with dark tinged water.

I was here very briefly for 3 months I loved the apartment it actually had all luxury features and nicr size too my only complaint was that my neighbors didnt know how to park. They would pull up all the way and block sidewalk. Very safe when I was there in 2016.... this used to be a not so nice area back before 2012 before it was purchased by new owners and renovated. Never got to use pool but I was able to walk to plantet fitness right next door which was nice.. central location right in town center

Peninsula Grove Apartments was an affordable housing for my son 2018 summer internship at NASA Langley research Center. The one bedroom apartment is old but in good condition. The best was the administration personnel but I need to mention Ms. Shamika Barrett who was an angel in setting me up with the contacts for utilities, WIFI and furniture rentals.Ms. Barrett went the extra mile for making sure we arrive not to a summer rental, but to our new home. Thank you Shamika.
