My roommate and I moved into a 2x2 after we had a terrible experience at a different apartment complex. Since, we have lived here for the past 2 years and it has been a great experience.We really enjoy the amenities! They are kept clean and well-lit. We also feel safe when taking walks on the nearby greenway/ walking path. We keep our interior clean and if anything is wrong, the maintenance team is quick to respond. Due to our jobs we will be moving at the end of our current lease but it will be to another Hawthorne managed property 👍😁

Hawthorne at Oak Ridge is a fantastic community! My partner and I moved in together here as our first place on our own, and we have had nothing but great experiences so far. The offerings & amenities are unbeatable (Amazon delivery hubs, pools w/ grills, occasional food trucks hired out, etc.)! The community itself is clean and very safe, we often see lots of families with young children. Its a convenient drive from both New Garden and Guilford College shopping areas! My fiance and just recently moved in with our two sons, we love it so far! The staff are amazing, the people are great, the amenities are awesome, and its so quiet! We havent had any issues so far.

I shared my Townhouse with hornets, lizards and spiders. I spent my summers on the cooler first floor because of HVAC issues and spent my winters upstairs, the only place you can feel heat. House smelled of animals for months, seen the teeth marks and the bitten guest bedroom door from previous owner that landlord failed to fix. I had moved in with mismatched blinds (dirty) and different tone lights in every room. Landlord didnt paint the place nor clean prior. The areas were spot painted which included hair and dust trapped into the paint. Maintenance failed to fix anything correctly. When they couldnt fix the problem they would comment not to use item or modify motion of item that needed to be fixed. The windows and patio are serious need of upgrading (very drafty, downstairs feels like youre outside in the winter). Most of my windows didnt have screens. kitchen cabinet doors didnt stay closed. I would have to grab my screwdriver to tighten the hinges. Pest control comes when requested but doesnt follow up leaving the tenant to remove sticky traps. when contractors are called in they run wild and free in your house while youre gone since maintenance or staff doesnt care to stay while they attend your house. They always have water issues, constantly shutting the water off. Water bill is the same ($40-45) rather if you have one person occupying the house or two ppl using a washer and dryer in the house or if they keep constantly shutting off the water for issues. The exterior grounds are kept nice but the insides are poor. Even the updated units still are updated on bad foundation, before renting look at how this place used to look. they just put siding over the old foundation and made it exteriorly appeasing. This place or any place under Hawthorne isnt worth the money they charge. Also, when you move they will take half of your deposit just not to fix the things they charged you for. yeah... I didnt believe the negative reviews either until I experienced the same.

Lived in building 4300 with my fiancé for a little over 3 years now. We love the pools, yes pools! There is two! The fitness center is practically brand new and so nice. There’s also a convenient laundry center in the complex so you don’t have to take your laundry to a laundry mat! The customer service from the people in the office is usually prompt and pleasant as well! We just got an amazon hub, and while working out some kinks it’s a great addition to the complex!

Hawthorne at Old Oak Ridge is a great place to live, whether you’re single, or have a family. The surrounding woods are beautiful, and you have easy access to the Bicentennial Greenway. I’ve lived here for the past year and management is very responsive with maintenance issues. The community here is tight and works together to keep things safe. The amenities are great, there’s a good gym and playground on grounds, as well as a cyber cafe and beautiful clubhouse. Rent here is affordable compared to other complexes in the area. I am going on my third year of living here and I have really enjoyed it. It’s in a great location (close to belt loop, near Guilford college, close to shops and restaurants). The staff is super friendly, they have great amenities (Gym, two pools, volleyball court, dog park), and the maintenance is super quick and thorough. The only downside is that they seem to have plumbing issues and the water gets temporarily shut off for several hours. This has happened several times since I moved here. Other than this, it has been a very enjoyable experience!

Hawthorne at Oak Ridge by far has the best leasing office staff in the Greensboro/Oak Ridge area. My partner and I looked at MANY different complexs and Hawthorne at Oak Ridge was the only office to promptly get back in touch with my partner and I. They worked diligently to find a floor plan and unit that fit nearly all of our needs and wants. The process was super quick, we now have a unit, and will be moving in this September! The grounds are very well kept, all the facilities are super clean, and the units are very affordable for young adults and college students like myself. I highly recommend Hawthorne; come find your home here !! Big thanks to Shay for all of her hard work getting us situated for move in.

This is the best apartment complex I ever lived in my whole life. The office staff members are super nice and maintenance staff are awesome too! This is the nicest area in Greensboro NC, its quite and no crime. If anyone looking for somewhere to live, I would highly recommend checking these apartments out.

Staff here are amazing and friendly!They’ve done so much to our little community over the 6 months I’ve been living here, even with COVID-19 affecting our lives. Maintenance moves quick! I had a central air issue and it was resolved the same day! We just got new amazon lockers so my packages are always safe and they’re building a playground for the kids, which is so great. So hopefully by next spring/summer kids can enjoy it. All that to say Hawthorne at Oak Ridge makes living in these times a little more peaceful.

I would definitely recommend this complex to anyone who’s looking for a safe, fun and welcoming environment. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I’ve actually enjoyed living here! The leasing staff are always welcoming and friendly. The only complaint I have is that there are consistent issues with the water here where they turn it off “at some point” for it to be repaired. Super clean amenities and the maintenance staff are friendly and quick!

I highly recommend living at Hawthorne at Oak Ridge. I moved in in the beginning of May and have nothing but great things to say. I feel safe here, have made friends with my neighbors and have enjoyed meeting/getting to know the staff. This is my first place without my parents and Hawthorne at Oak Ridge has made it such an easy transition! Any apartment complex will have some reviews from people who love it and those who have issues with it--pick a place that works for YOU remembering that some people are always going to find an issue (think about how often you make reviews for GOOD things vs bad things within businesses). While I cannot say Hawthorne at Oak Ridge is perfect (no place ever could be), I could confidently say it is amazing and I wouldnt change where I live currently for anything!

This community is perfect for the dog lovers, here you will find very good amenities for all, all the amenities are in a very good condition and the maintenance works hard when you need to fix something. Additional of this, nest to the complex is a nice trail where you can walk or run.

Edit: Im unsure of why I originally gave this location 3 stars but looking back at what they offered I can confidently say that this place was fantastic especially for the price. The place felt clean and safe. It also had really nice up to date windows, electric and kitchen hardware. The area was also very nice with nice people.

Thet took more care of the lawn and outside the resident homes more than they did inside. The amount you’ll pay for one bdrm, your basically just paying for where the resident is located. Bathroom where laid down with cheap tiles, the wood in bathroom and kitchen could be a lot better due to how much your paying monthly. But however during the Pandemic they’ve tried to be helpful, so I’ll give them that.

I have lived here for over 9 years now. I love all the improvements Hawthorne has made and continue to make.The dog park and pet stations are great for my 2 dogs, the parking lot is finally pothole free. The grounds are picked up every day, and the brand new fitness center is out of this world!The office staff are quick to help, always have a smile on their face and a pleasure to talk to!The service team is fantastic, the last time I called in a request, they were there within a few hours and had it fixed! They are always smiling and willing to help in anyway they can!I recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to live thats close to everything!

We have truly enjoyed Hawthorne at Oak Ridge. The staff are amazing and know the people In the community by their name. Which is huge for me. I like that I am 20 minutes away from downtown.The maintenance team is awesomeSome things that I dsilike: the water goes off every other month so I needed to buy water bottles for when that occursAlso when they send you a note that maintenance will be by for preventive maintenance they give you less than 24hrs to crate your animals or remove them from the premise. Now I have two cats (and I work) and would prefer not to crate them but with less than 24hrs notice I cant make alternative arrangements like sending them to kitty daycare or something else. Update 2021: since I wrote this review I want to say that the water havent been shut off so I guess the complex fixed that issue

I have been living in this complex for a year. This complex is quiet and is in a great location -- it is easy to access different parts of Greensboro and the surrounding area. You can tell that management is making an effort to upkeep the property and renovate it. The complex is clean and pretty well kept up. The maintenance and office staff have been great to work with and are very prompt at responding to issues or inquiries. Cost wise this complex appears to be on the more affordable end of ever rising rental costs in Greensboro -- which is what drew me to it in the first place. I have enjoyed living at Hawthorne at Oak Ridge. I can truly say that my little apartment here feels like home!

I have been very happy living here. I chose Oak Ridge because of the openness and large green grass areas and the walking path behind it. They have been great to deal with whenever I have had an issue and respond promptly to maintenance issues. I enjoy the community functions they hold and how welcoming they have been to my dogs as well.

I have been living here since 2013. It has been amazing watching these apartments transform since Hawthorne took over. The office staff is AMAZING! Everything is clean and so nicely kept. Just like any home there are issues, but the staff is fast to respond. I love that there are two pools and the cutest dog park! There are not many place that allow big dogs. It is nice that not only are big dogs allowed, Hawthorne includes them in things such as monthly bark box give aways & having treats and waste bags for the resident dogs. This is definitely a community I feel safe in and as an avid traveler, I love that it is so close to the airport. Keep up the good works guys

From the first time we stepped foot on the property, to signing our lease, to moving in, and even to now, we have thoroughly enjoyed Hawthorne at Oak Ridge! The staff are absolutely wonderful and truly make you feel like part of a community! One of our favorite things to do is go in the office for a visit and say hello! Everyone there is so kind and helpful and truly care about you as an individual, not just as a tenant! And maintenance is ALWAYS on top of any requests that get sent in and usually have the issues resolved within 24 hours. I high recommend Hawthorne and especially Hawthorne at Oak Ridge!

My boyfriend and I moved into the small one bedroom apartment 2 years ago. We’re never had a problem with anything. If something needed to be fixed maintenance was always there the next day . The office staff is always friendly and willing to work with us. We moved out one year later to a larger apartment in a different complex and hated everything about the community. Once are lease was up at that complex, we decided to move back to Hawthorne at Oak Ridge and everything is still the same and the staff is great! Highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I have been residents here since April 2018 and everything has been great. The grounds are kept clean and landscaped, the pools are always looking good, and the gym is always clean. The office staff is always so friendly and helpful plus they love my dog and he gets treats every time I bring him by. My dog loves to get on the maintenance golf carts to say hello and he is always getting loved on! The maintenance staff here is amazing and they get things done correctly and in a timely fashion. The only reason we are not going to be renewing our lease is because we are expecting our first child and are in the process of purchasing a home. We highly recommend Hawthorne at Oak Ridge to anyone !

I have lived in this community, going on 9 yrs. I love the location. Its very convenient to downtown Greensboro, as well as surrounding cities. The front office Ladies always are kind and help me to the best of their ability. Maintenance issues are always handled in a timely manner. Big shout out to Lou for his commitment to our community. I am loving the newly renovated pools, cant wait until they are opened. My doggy loves the dog park. I would say they are pretty fair on rent, as our surrounding communities are much higher. Hawthorne at Oak Ridge has been the best place to live by far! I used to live in student apartments and I can definitely say its nothing like that here at Hawthorne at Oak Ridge. Also if youre looking for the best bang for your buck this is the place to be. They have an actual fitness center thats 24/7 access and a 24/7 business center that has computers, printer and they supply the paper and ink and so much more! I really love living here!

I can not say enough about Hawthorne at the Meadows. The office staff and the maintenance staff are superb. If you have a problem they are right on top of it. Recently my service dog Brandy was injured and every day the officer and maintenance staff have asked about her. I am so glad I moved here. I moved from California to NC and this is this place I finally at home. The amenities are great and Brandy loves the walking trails. If you want to find a place to live and feel like you are at home then you need to move to Hawthorne at the Meadows!

Love this place! My buddy Adam is the best maintenance guy theyve ever had. Had an issue in the middle of the night and he was there ASAP to help. Really appreciate that kind of dedication.

Quiet, clean, and not far from everything. Pool, tennis court, slick new gym. Staff is courteous and maintenance is fast as lightning. Only moving because they have a two pet limit. My girlfriend and I very much enjoyed our stay here :)

My husband and I moved in a little over a month ago and I have to say we love it. It is much better than the apartments we came from in High Point. Office staff is great. We are in a convenient area close to shopping. You have several different grocery stores to choose from and of course the lovely Target. I couldnt ask for a better location.P.S.- I love my balcony.

I signed my first lease in 2014 and I just resigned again for 2017. Ive never had a bad experience here with neighbors or the staff. The new staff are friendly and punctual. The renovations that have been made make the property so much more appealing. Its a quiet area and the grounds are kept nice year around.

The management before the place got bought out was amazing they were really nice people. But after they brought in the new staff I feel there not as friendly I dont feel at home anymore and they are not Willing to work with you for anything. Makes me feel to go look for another place to live.

Very convenient to the Greensboro area, loved the new scenery to the complex looks a WHOLE lot better than the previous owners design. Reasonable prices, the staff will work diligently with the tenets the only issue is spider webs left lingering on the patio and front porch area making it uneasy for friends to get over the mess since some are allergic to spiders but overall a great area to live in

Place is ok but not great. Maintenance crew is super cool and respond within a timely manner. Too many water issues! Within the past month there has been 5 water outages that have lasted 8 plus hours. My water currently is still spotty as in it doesn’t flow without major air bubbles in the line. Also, the water smells and is cloudy. In addition, my apartment was invested with bees and hornets and would make their way into my place. Had to get maintenance out a couple of times. In the winter the apartment is freezing and is not insulated, which creates a huge energy bill. Toilets are the new water efficient, however bc of the apartment property water issues has problems with clogging.

Moved in with my roommate at the end of July. The apartment was okay minus the less than satisfactory paint job. Honestly the only thing that made this place competitive during our search process was the fact that water/sewage was included, however, now IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR LEASE weve just been informed with a note on our doors that we will now be responsible for our water and sewage which honestly is bull. Especially considering there has been NUMEROUS random water outages since we moved in. THIS IS NOT WHAT WE SIGNED UP FOR! If that was something new that they wanted to implement all of the sudden it shouldnt be forced on those of us who who are in the middle of leases. Its not fair to us that we are now locked in this agreement while theyre adding new policies and procedures as they go along.

Where the hell did Naomi go, she was the best thing to happen to this place. If it wasn’t for her we probably never would have moved in. The new management staff is careless. Have lost so much money to their cheap laundry machines that are always breaking. I go to the office and the lady says she has to cash to replace what I lost, asked her to contact me So I can get refunded for my money and never heard back. As it is they require quarters for there machines but have no change machines on the complex, so make sure you always get extra because they won’t replace what their machines eat and you’ll be stuck having to go get more quarters

Don’t waste your money. Run down apartments. Poor insulation. You have to either keep the heater or fire place running due to the apartment being so drafty!Check out the park at Oakridge. Way more bang for your buck and the staff is lovely!!!

Dont move here!! Firstly, the apartments are extremely out dated. When they do renovate the apartments they put new floors over the old floors. This wouldnt be much of a problem; however, the new floor is coming up which shows the old floor. Which proves they dont care, all they want is your money. Secondly, the bugs!!! The bugs here are outrageous. Ive had them come and spray however, they only did it once so it didnt last long. I must admit the maintenance personnel are wonderful, they help as much as the front office will allow. If it was possible I would give them a 5 star.

I like it....think it is a peaceful complex. Parents are respectful of your children and your property. Some tenants are up pretty late but its not a bother. Maintenance is good, they come in an appropriate and timely manner. Management is OK, so far so good considering they just bought the property.........lets give it some time! Some tenants were complaining about Management at first, I guess things are OK, for now.

Lots of positive changes accept for the wickedness in the form of a slim blond woman. Everything is peachy till they get your signature. After that, this woman will consistently treat you like an inconvenience. She has NO BUSINESS being in a customer service role. Let me tell all you googlers something. I remember this place when it was Deerwood. Back in my college days I knew some cats that lived there, and they didnt stay there because of the accommodations.You know what I mean? It was a good location and affordable.....end of the positives. I rode by the other day and about crashed my truck!!!! The improvements Hawthorne has made to this facility is mind boggling. I may be wrong, but it looks like they tore all the old buildings down and started from scratch! I am talking fresh siding, new roofs, bigger floor plans & FRESH faces in the leasing office! This is without a doubt the new place to be in the Greensboro/Oak Ridge area.

I have lived here for over 4 years and must say that when the new company took over it has been nothing but a positive experience. I see some negative reviews below and seems the same person is reporting. The office and maintenance staff has been nothing but helpful and nice. You probably do not here it enough but thank you for making this a great place to live!

Unprofessional. Staff is not helpful. Communication is terrible.Dead rats on traps outside, what about the children and pets?! Why are there rats anyways?!Employees are quick to send letters about fines for a trash bag before someone is even finished cleaning, but refuse to actually be of any help when needed; I don’t understand.

I have only been here 2 months and let’s just say. The apt has issues that would take a year to fix.

The staff are very rude and incompetent at times, mainly the maintenance. They hate to fix anything and will have you waiting forever... If you are not american be sure to take someone who is, because they will try to get over on you. If I could give 0 I would this apartment complex no comment. I miss the old staff they were very friendly. This place not so much rude and not organized at all. They have no clue who lives in what apartment they just want the rent. The girl at the front desk clueless still wondering how she got the job. They need to renovate these apartments had a town house. Downstairs was always cold and had a draft in my room. Every time I wanted to watch tv downstairs had to check for spiders. Im so glad to be moving Ive seen other hawthorenes and they were nothing like this. Good luck if you move here dont say I didnt warn you.😊

Ive lived here a little over a year. Before they were bought out everything was great. Couple of things to be cautious of are spiders, wasp/hornet next in the storage area and front door, parking near your apartment (good luck), the lighting on the back they just put up will disturb your sleep so buy super dark curtains. Shall I go on? These are concerns Ive voiced and they have done nothing about. The maintenance crew is great if you have an issue which youll have plenty. Soooooo I say you pay for what you get.

Staff went out of their way to help me get an apartment. Very greatful for their hospitality and kindness.

Id give negative stars if its possible. This is a great place to live if you ignore the spiders, construction work and the flat tires you get because of the nails lying around in the drive way. Well, the people at the leasing office are great, well, if you ignore the sarcasm, mockery, ridicule, incompetence and treachery. They are just despicable, humiliating, sleazy, repulsive and immoral. I know Im being redundant but thats just about them! I was a fan of Hawthorne but in three months they turned me into a critic.

Been here for 2 years. Its ok as far as complexes go. Since the take over Hawthorne has made repairs and improvements. It has been a little inconvenient, they need to give more notice to residents when needing access to their apartments. But overall, I say its about average for apartment living. Jonathan Younts.

Hate these appartments . bed bugs are coming from below the carpet ..... Initially they will tell that it will cover in the insurence when we callled them and later they send a mail saying that bug treatment costs 1000-2000$ .... you can pay monthly 500$ etc etc.... They charge us a lot.

I enjoy the peace and quietness and worry free environment of no theft and damage. However, not a gay friendly community.

The Hawthorne at Oakridge is infested with spiders. Also you may not have water at any given time. This place should be section 8 housing. The management treats you very poorly. Do not rent here.
