Revolution Mill has been the best place to be stuck during the eon of 2020! All of the staff have consistently gone above and beyond to keep us safe and updated. Quarantining in a 1 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment with a partner and a cat has been way more comfortable here than I would ever expect! The high ceilings and gorgeous windows make the place feel airy and huge. I feel really lucky to live here!

I love living here. I moved to the mill in February of 2020 from South America and basically sight unseen. I can not express how happy I am that I found this community to live in. I call it more a community vs my apartment because thats exactly what Ive found living here. I have made some amazing friends so far, the management team is always quick to respond and accommodating, and the location is great. I love the weekly events held for the residents and this place has been so amazing to live with my two larger dogs. I didnt know what to expect from Greensboro and this city is really great! There are some great breweries and restaurants and Ive been told there are some great events held (even though this year was on hold) I cant wait to get to know the city more.

I moved in to Revolution Mill in September, and I am obsessed! The interior is beautiful and has all the updated amenities you could need. Move in was so easy with the large freight elevator. Everyone is so friendly and the apartment has a lot of events for residents. I am so glad I waited on my apartment unit to open up vs settling somewhere else!

I travel often, and I always look forward to coming back home. This place has a ton of character, and it keeps getting better. Its rare that I come home and not find something new. I have a corner apartment with a unique floor plan. I love the exposed brick walls and polished concrete floors. Living in an old building may not be for everyone (you have to keep up on your dusting and you get to know your upstairs neighbors really well), but I find it all inspiring and a super interesting place to live. My eight-year-old thinks its awesome too. We like the movies in the Yard; looking for fish, turtles and snakes in the creek; and the trains that rush past our window (almost without a sound). Plus, now with Gibbs Brewery open and Bearded Goat on the way--to go along with Nattys Kitchen and Cugino Forno--we have plenty of great places to finish his homework.

I moved to Greensboro over 6 months ago and I have absolutely loved living at the Revolution Mill. I love how safe the apartments are and the staff is incredible! I needed to find an apartment in a short amount of time and they made the process so easy. The apartments are beautiful, very spacious, and reasonably priced. Additionally, the amenities are fantastic. I enjoy using the fitness center and conference rooms. There are delicious restaurant options and the Mill is also very pet friendly! The location is great — very convenient to town and the interstate. They host fun events for the residents as well. I have nothing but great things to say about The Mill!

My wife and I moved from Huntsville, Alabama, in February 2020. So far, we enjoy being tenants of Revolution Mill Apartments. The amenities are quite lovely, and nothing beats living in a 122-year old mill, squeaky floors, and all. Further, the building couldnt be in a better location. Most importantly, the management staff has always been friendly and responsive. Id undoubtedly recommend moving in.

In addition, any questions are quickly addressed. I would like to point out that there is 24 hour security and, as a tenant, they address me professionally and offer great help. The great restaurants and bars within steps of my unit is icing. I have told everyone that I love living at Revolution Mill.

I love living here. The area is beautiful, the apartments are great, the amenities are amazing, and the staff are all very nice and responsive. I was a little worried about the noise after reading some reviews, but its not bad at all, even with active neighbors. My other big worry moving here was insulation, but we almost never have to turn the heat or air back on once we get it to the temperature we want. Electricity bills are crazy low, too.Price is the only downside, but it honestly still manages to feel like a steal with how great everything is compared to previous apartment complexes Ive lived in. I cant see us leaving any time soon, and we are excited to hopefully upgrade to a slightly bigger floorplan in the future!

This place is a scam, renters beware. Renovate an old mill touting its history while spending zero attention to simple sound (and even light!) insulation between units. And before a reply from Rev Mill states more bologna about how the intent was to retain exposed beams or original floors... I’m talking about between same floor units. There’s no acceptable response for why I can hear every single word my next door neighbors say. I can even see light coming through edges of the drywall at the ceiling to my one neighbors unit. It’s a classic “spend as little as possible in renovation while charging as much as you can to the tenants.” The staff here are super sweet and kind people just doing their best. They want their jobs and they work hard and deserve it. However, living here is a complete joke. The apartments are very nice, but the noise is atrocious. I surely hope the poor folks who end up in the new townhouses here (some of which are $3200/mo) know what they’re about to get into.

Many people probably dont realize how LARGE Cones Revolution Mill was. For years (since 1980), it sat abandoned and deteriorating, like so many textile mills in the US since manufacturers moved their operations to countries where slave wages are considered wonderful. This is a BIG structure. Want to walk a couple of miles a day? I think walking the entire course of the building (one end to the other and back) twice a day would do it! (Okay, that might be a SLIGHT exaggeration.)The renovation is beautiful. So much of the 120-year-old materials have been preserved, with new touches for comfort and a contemporary loft feel, the result being very attractive and comfortable living spaces. As you might expect with a building of this vintage and the purpose for which it was originally built, lots of differences between the floor plans of the different apartments, no cookie cutter here.A couple of restaurants are already open, with others opening soon, all kinds of stuff to see and do while youre on those two-mile walks or runs.Meredith was extremely helpful in showing me around and answering all my questions, and Maggie was very helpful with the follow-up communication.Anyone interested in a unique and well-designed high-end apartment should definitely consider these, and go look at them!

Moved in a couple months ago...on the 1st floor. And I love it!!!! I read through a lot of these reviews and was a bit skeptical myself. I was really worried about the noise. But honestly, when I moved in, I went upstairs and met my neighbors-theyre really down to earth and I wanted to be able to reach out to them if there was ever anything I wanted to reach out to them for. And i havent had to yet for noise! Instead, I reach out for meeting up for dinner at Kitchen + Market! Ive made some good friends here. The windows and brick in my home are beautiful and havent found that anywhere else. Office people were great help since I was moving from FL and didnt know much about this area. Yeah, I have experienced some noise that I read about on here, but I was fully aware when I moved in. Even the leasing person who showed me told me about the wood floors and noise. Hey, old building living isnt for everyone! But I love it!

They host resident socials, have events, and random treats such as taco Tuesday, Easter egg hunts, breakfast mornings- all complimentary. The new gym is being built now and I’m sure will be gorgeous (the old one on site was). They’re friendly towards pets and open to all breeds of dogs- something that can be difficult to find. I see that the mill is heavily promoting the new townhouses (no, they are actually just big apartments) that they have completed. I lived in these apartments and I feel I need to give potential renters a heads-up. My experience here was not was it was marketed to be as the highest standards of apartment living. I could go on and on but many reviews on here have already covered the many issues. I agree with pretty much all of the negative reviews and will only add these 2 cents. The noise here from other neighbors is pervasive and unreasonable. You will have no privacy. Your neighbors will hear every conversation you have and know everything about you because they will hear it through the walls and the floors. How do I know this? I know this because I knew everything about the people living around ME because I could constantly hear it. I could easily hear conversations in the apartments around me even when my neighbors were talking at a normal level. If you dont want to feel that you are living with roommates whose daily schedule will dictate when you are able to sleep, have quiet time, or even be able to hear your own TV over their noise, then I would seriously suggest that you avoid paying the high cost of rent at this place. However, if you love lack of privacy and noise and want to pay one of the higher rents in town to experience this, at least if you read this review youre going in with your eyes open!

You will notice a stark divide in reviews on here. This is easily explained by whether or not you live in a downstairs unit or an upstairs unit that is not between two other units. Unfortunately I live downstairs between two units. My dog and I are truly startled multiple times daily by the noise from above. Every footstep from the resident above is like someone pounding on the wood floors. We hear every single footstep. My nerves are shot. It is misery. Also I hear everything from my neighbors on either side of me as well. If you decide to rent here, rent on the top, try to get a unit with no one on at least one side of you and please be more courteous to the residents who live under you than my current upstairs neighbor is to me. I cant even sleep through the night here.

In my second year living here. I enjoy it very much. I may be a bit biased because I also work on the other side of the complex, so I cant get this level of convenience anywhere else. I literally dont have to go outside to walk to work!I live on the first floor and have neighbors on all sides. I never hear the residents on the side unless they let the metal door slam, but I can hear the people above occasionally(mostly someone wearing heels on the wood floor I think) sometimes sound from a tv, but if Im watching or listening to something I dont notice. The staff is quite friendly and helpful. and they have responded quickly every time Ive communicated with them. During an emergency issue, maintenance arrived 10 or 15 minutes after I called to come and address it.I enjoy the indoor trash drop off near the mail, I like the outdoor movie theater when the weather is nice, and I enjoy walking around the campus in general; there is a creek behind the building with a few bridges that make walking/jogging a circuit around the complex enjoyable. There is a bar/restaurant stumbling distance from the apartments as well as a pizzeria.Shopping and dining are only a few minutes away, including downtown and Friendly Center, plus all the businesses on Battleground. My only concern is the size of the apartments. They are cute and perfect for singles and couples, but I think a family would need more room; however, there are families here, and the Mill offers units with multiple bedrooms.I plan on staying here until I need more room than these apartments can provide.

Awesome place if you are looking for something more than just your typical carpet and 4 wall apartment. Been here about 6 months, and yeah I read the reviews too and yeah you hear the noise but I dont know what all these other people expected from an old Mill. I always find something to do, and having the food places right here is awesome and downtown is pretty close too. Im too lazy for dinner sometimes and its nice to just be able to walk out just a few steps to grab a beer and dinner for the night. My advice is if you are looking for something quiet, this wouldnt be the place and go buy a house. I think thats obvious if you went to look at them and talk to the leasing people because they made sure I knew that before. But if you want a cool apartment with plenty of people to meet or things to do, you should come and move in here.

Revolution Mill is not just a beautiful place to live, it is a fabulous lifestyle. I have lived here for almost 2-years and I haven’t been this happy in a long time. I have made friends with many neighbors. We have impromptu get-togethers constantly. It is more fun than I could have imagined. I also have felt safer here than other apartments I’ve lived. There are many layers of security plus security guards. I’ve also slept better here than many other places. My bedroom has no window, which I thought I’d miss. Instead, I sleep like a rock with no light in my “cave” as I call it. I’ve also become a regular at Kau where they have the bartenders and staff with the best personalities. I love being able to go there when I run out of groceries or when I just need company and a change of scenery. It feels like Cheers “where everybody knows your name”. Moving into Revolution Mill was the best decision I could have made. It truly is better than I could have imaged it to be.

I live in an apartment here at Revolution Mill and Im gonna tell you all of the things I wish someone had warned me about before I was locked into paying for one of the more expensive apartments in this area. The past 24 hours is pretty typical of the issues here. The main issue is noise. They are adding new apartments and 8am-5pm Monday-Friday there is loud construction taking place less than 20 feet from my apartment. The noise is heard in my apartment all day. Additionally, the common area around the mailroom looks awful and isnt the least bit pleasing to look at due to the construction. Trash is left out. Cords are left plugged in across the common areas. Dust and dirt are everywhere. Today is a Saturday and for the first time they are now doing the construction on Saturday. God, I hope this isnt going to be every Saturday from now on. At least we got a break from this Saturday and Sunday over the past several months. The noise woke me up at 8am and has been ongoing for the past five hours. If this werent bad enough, last night I tired to fall asleep despite the sound of deep bass coming from music that was either coming from the events center located here or a neighbor. At this point I dont even bother trying to figure out where it is coming from because the owners of the property are well aware of these issues and refuse to do anything satisfactory to address these issues at the source or for the long term. As I write this I sit in my apartment and hear the music from another unit (clear profanity laden lyrics and all) AND the construction noise at the same time. At least I have it better than the downstairs units. Those who live there hear EVERYTHING from the units above. Every step, every conversation, EVERYTHING! This is not due to loud neighbors. Its due to the poor consideration given to insulating the units from noise. It is frustrating to read the comments on here from management who say on here that they are aware and taking steps when in reality they sure dont seem to be doing anything to address the noise issues here and just shrug it off when its brought up saying that they cant do anything about it due to the historical nature of the place. It sure benefits the owners for you to be locked in a lease before you know about all of the noise issues here. The experience of living here does not match with the price of the rent. Save your money and live somewhere where you can enjoy peace and quiet because you rarely get that living at Revolution Mill.

My husband and I lived in these apartments for a year, and the end of our lease couldnt come soon enough. We were literally counting down the days until we could leave. Multiple tenants in the building left well before their leases were up because they couldnt handle how horrible it was. If I could give these apartments zero stars I would, because while they are gorgeous and conveniently located in town, they are by far the most horrible place we have ever lived. The noise level is INSANE, and Im not even talking about the construction (which is also obnoxious), I mean hearing your upstairs neighbor flush their toilet, close the microwave door, their phone get a notification, every word of EVERY conversation they have, TV show they watch, music theyre listening to, etc. This is something almost every resident brought up multiple times (and many reviewers here mention as well), and management just comes back with some hilarious excuse about the building being historic. Im not sure what the hell that has to do with how poorly they were insulated during the renovation, but ok, thanks for your response. The entire building is on a keyless fob system, which regularly broke/went out while we lived there and you literally couldnt get in or out certain doors (which is a HUGE safety issue). Our keypad on the door to our apartment would regularly glitch and you would just have to stand there for 5-10 minutes waiting for it to start working again to be able to enter your apartment. The parking layout is not only obnoxious due to regular flooding from Buffalo Creek, but also dangerous because theyre so brilliant they put in a blind curve right where residents have to cross the street to get to their cars. Oh, and they also did so without creating a walkway OR stop sign, so cars just fly around the corner and you have to cross hoping no one is coming. The very limited handicap parking spaces are in the middle of the parking lot on the opposite side of the building from the elevators (seriously, who thought this was smart?). So if youre handicap or have any handicap family members, once they park they have to then somehow make it all the way to the other side of the building if they want to get to the second floor or lower end apartments.I could go on forever about how horrible this place is and how much we hated living here. Do yourself a major favor and if youre considering moving here, DONT.

As many many others have said on here...living here means that you are tortured daily by the noise of your neighbors. I have to sleep with earplugs in every single night. Otherwise I am woken up by the CONVERSATIONS...(THE CONVERSATIONS!!!) of my upstairs neighbor. They are speaking at a perfectly normal level but the extremely poor quality of the apartments allows me to hear every single word. I can even hear when my upstairs neighbor is using the bathroom and I can HEAR whether or not they are going #1 or #2 (not joking!). The rent of this place is astronomically high in comparison to the quality of the experience living here. If you tour, ask about the noise issues and the lack of insulation between units (both on the side and above/below). Ask what happens when a liquid goes on the historic hardwood floors. Answer: it comes crashing down immediately on those residents living on the first floor (Why? CUZ NO INSULATION!). Ive read all the management response on here. How historically charming can a place be when your neighbors pet pee is coming down from your ceiling? (Yep, that has happened to more then one of my neighbors and management and the owners of the mill just pass it off as not being a serious sanitation issue!). Beware before you get trapped in a lease and pay way too much for an awful apartment living experience!

If you live downstairs you will be bothered daily by upstairs stomping, conversations, etc. How they get away with charging such high rent for such low quality insultation....beats me! Every time Im over there I am still shocked...this shouldnt be allowed. My friends wish they had known how bad it was or they would have never let themselves get locked in a lease. Management is aware of noise issues. Pay less rent elsewhere for better living conditions.

Still, unfortunately, living here. The noise, honestly, I can deal with. I have had to call for security multiple times for noise at 3 AM. While the managers may tell you that security is here 24/7 (and it is) they do not ever produce results. Many times I have had to go beat on doors to tell people to tone it down. The construction area is ALWAYS an absolute mess. And, to top it off, the workers are beyond rude. For many a mornig I have woken up to the smell of cigarette smoke IN MY APARTMENT. Do I smoke? No. The workers will leave all the doors proped (what was this about Rev Mill being a secure place to live?) and smoke right outside the door. I even have caught them standing inside the building when it was raining. Apartment management does nothing to stop it even when you send them messages. And, FYI, this is a smoke free and pet friendly campus. However, Rev Mill is a lawsuit away from getting rid of the pet friendly title. And I’m not talking about ‘aggressive breeds’ - its the labs and small dogs who want to rip you up - I haven’t actually seen any pitt or shepherd owners take advantage of the non-breed restriction deal. No, Rev Mill will restrict all pets because someone’s dog will eat a cigarette butt and they will be tasked with an expensive vet bill. The place constantly looks like a freaking ash tray. And hey, random person who actually has $3200 lying around to waste on an overpriced ‘town home’ - you won’t ever have a pace to park! This apartment does less than nothing to enforce resident parking. I have even seen them place sticky notes on cars shaming residents and signed ‘apartment managers’ if you park in event parking when there are NO EVENTS GOING ON!! SERIOUSLY???? We pay over $1000 a month, don’t have a place to park, and get chastised for parking in the only open spot in the parking lot that doesn’t require walking 1/2 a mile??TL/DR: find a better place to live. False marketing, dorm conditions, terrible management.

I have lived here for around 6 months, and it has been enjoyable, but, as with any place, there are problems. I wouldnt say that highest standards of apartment living (which is written on their website) is completely accurate.First, I will go over the positives. You get to live in a historic monument. That is sweet. The exposed brick and floors are beautiful! Every unit comes with its own washer and dryer, which is rare in apartments. The kitchen utilities are great. They have events like movie nights (on weekday nights, though) and little festivals. You do not need to walk outside to get your mail or throw away your trash. There is always security; I feel very safe here. There is fiber internet. One of my favourite parts about living here is the free coffee (lattes, cappuccinos, etc.). There are elevators (but they are really only helpful if you live on the ends). When I email the apartment managers, I get quick replies. Now onto the negatives. They advertise having a business room where you can print. This is very unreliable. It is sad when you go to print something off and you are actually surprised that there is paper since 75% of the time I go to print something off, there is none. Maybe it is just me expecting more out of a place that costs a lot and says they hold the highest standards of apartment living. You can hear your neighbours very easily. VERY easily. Sometimes you feel like they dont consider their tenants. One time they rented out a room on the apartment side to a wedding party, so it was amazingly loud. However, it is worth noting that the music did stop at an okay time. One major thing is that I see nonresidents parked in resident parking. We were told these people would be towed. Not sure if they do end up towing them, but I have never seen a tow truck here. The pet fee is crazy high. Normally you either have to pay $300 up front or $15 a month, but here you have to pay both. The gym doesnt have much in terms of muscle building. They dedicated a lot to cardio, but hardly anything to strength. In the end, it is still a great place to live. I feel like there could be more done since it costs so much and says it is held to the highest standards of apartment living, but it is still amazing being able to live in an old factory.Things I WOULD call this place: beautiful, quality utilities, funThings I WOULD NOT call this place: reliable, quiet

Extremely noisy for the monthly cost of rent. There is no insulation between the 2nd floor apartments and the 1st floor apartments. This means that a 1st floor residents ceiling is literally the floor of 2nd floor tenants. 2nd floor conversations, every single step, and even sex are commonly and explicitly heard by 1st floor residents. The management is aware of how bad the noise is because they make you sign a form acknowledging that you have been warned of the urban environment (i.e. how noisy it will be). Any liquid spills from the 2nd floor apartments fall through the cracks in the floor and end up on the belongings of 1st floor tenants. I am not aware that management warns any residents of this to minimize such incidents. I would discourage anyone from renting a first floor apartment here. Additionally, noise from the event center located within the complex as well as construction frequently interrupt the enjoyment of living in your apartment. Its never truly dark in the apartments due to the lights that are constantly on in both the hallways and outdoors. The bedroom lighting is extremely dim and there are no lights in the bedroom closet. Its not uncommon to smell marijuana inside the building. The units appear beautiful but there are many, many issues.
