DaMar the manager with the entire staff are the greatest! Very knowledgeable, kind, helpful and over all supportive for all your needs as a major car rental company. I dont mind traveling from Vacaville to Fairfield however I do miss the Vacaville location!! Thanks for your great service...
I asked for a vehicle equal to the size of a Chevy Equinox and was given a much smaller, beat up, stained crossover. I explained it wasnt the right size or big enough for a road trip for 4 people for 6 days and they were extremely rude about it being the same size and only offered their largest vehicle for a higher fee. Ill never be renting from them again especially because of their employees attitude and their trashed vehicles. I would have canceled and gone somewhere else but they wouldnt give me a refund without taking half of the full rental fee.

This is the worse place to ever rent a car. Make sure you check your credit card or bank statement anytime you rent from these people, they will overcharge your card then try not to refund you the correct amount that is owed to you. I’m not sure if they all struggled with math in school but this place is horrible when it comes to calculations. If you don’t catch the mistake and try and have it corrected they will act as if it never happened. Don’t put a card on file at this place they will definitely rip you off.
I just left the Fairfield Hertz without a car, what a surprise. They were supposed to reserve me a car at 10:30am. I called at noon and they said “we had a car for you but we have it to someone else”. So the lady I talked to assured me they would have a car at 3:30pm. I arrived to pick the vehicle up and rude man behind the desk said the only vehicle we have is an SUV which will be almost twice the quoted price. I would recommend do not use this facility they are unprofessional and rude.

And everytime my husand and I would called, its always the same male person and everytime its the same answer. He never has a car available, never want to help, and always telling us to call him back. Everytime we call back at the time he requested, he will just have us call him back. Finally i asked him if he can take down my number and call me when he has a vehicle, quickly he said No because he wont remember to call me since hes very busy. We decided to make a reservation a week ahead and when that day come we decided to called before making our way there. Not surprise, the same thing happen. What is going on??? This is very frustrating and we are not happy at all. Hes giving us the run around and as though we were a burden to him. Isnt for our service so HERTZ can continue to run their business? Isnt for the customer so they can continue to have a job? There no excuse for his service he has given us, i dealt with customer service at work everday and no matter how busy it is, im always able to provide great customer service, leaving customer satisfied. I know im not the first to complaim about this location, please do something about it. Its not fair to you, your future customers and especially your current customers. A change needs to happen. Terrible customer service when I have dealt with this office. What is the point in making reservations, when they will rent your reserved vehicle while youre there in the office... Just to upgrade you to a larger vehicle and charge you more.. bad attitudes, no where for customer to park... then during walk around I took my own photos to show where there were preexisting scratches and a small dent to be informed I was being ridiculous and that my photos wouldnt matter, that they would go off of their photos and not some random renter.. avoiding this place altogether. Ill gladly take my business elsewhere, and anyone needing a car and would like treated better, you should too
The Customer Service is terrible. Do not rent through this Company! The two Men that are working today are very rude and continued to have a whole personal conversation while letting me know a reservation that I made they wouldnt be able to accommodate! Then they tried to just leave me on hold! Im also contacting corporate office and will be speaking to the owner. I had a very important situation to uphold today and thanks to Hertz Rental Car on North Texas Street in Fairfield, it will not be possible! If I could give a negative number I would! During Pandemic no employees were wearing a mask. They had 6 signs on the door about masks and distancing. But they did neither. We had a reservation with a confirmation email and they did not have a vehicle for us. Our insurance picked this place. Avoid them as much as you can.
My car was ready at the reserved time. Al was awesome and helped me pick a vehicle perfect for my needs yesterday. Even when there was a small discrepancy on the bill, he got it handled swiftly and professionally. Excellent service - thanks guys!

I made a reservation to get a car when i arrived the first time at the scheduled time for my pick up they were closed so i went back the very next morning and they informed me they rented my reserved rental and did not have another vehicle to rent to me this was a huge inconvenience for me especially because I made the reservation I will not recommend them nor will I every rent from them amd Im always renting cars

If I could give 0 stars I would! DO NOT every go to this place, EVER!!! We went in to get a rental, the “manager” tried to force us to get rental insurance even though I explained a million times that we didn’t need it. I literally had to call customer service just to get it removed and even that took up over an hour of my time. Then when we returned our rental they said that they would release our deposit within 2-3 days, we’ll its day 7 and I still haven’t gotten my deposit back. So I called their customer service and they said there’s nothing to release. I explained multiple times that I never got it back and they just kept saying that there’s nothing to release. At first I thought it was just the location, but no, it’s the whole company. This company is a JOKE!!! You’re better off going to Enterprise. Yes, they’re a little pricey, but they’re honest AND they give you back your deposit. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
I came in this weekend for a rental and the process was easy and fast! Abram the Asian guy was very helpful and nice, I wish I could say the same about the other employee. This is our 3rd or 4th time getting a rental from this place, will be back if Abram still works there! Thanks bro!

I picked up my rental for a short trip to the airport. I was asked to wait even though there were two people present at check-in. One of which was clearly on a personal call. I got out to the car, loaded my bags, jumped in and the car was dirty, smelled like cigarette smoke, and the gas tank was EMPTY! I added a few bucks so I could make it the 50 mile journey and then I got charged nearly $90 in gas because it wasnt full upon return. Now as a customer Im further inconvenienced by having to deal with corporate to get a fuel refund. This whole experience, especially as a frequent Hertz customer, has made me reconsider Hertz has a viable option in the future.
We rented a very good car, which was half electric and half gas so we spent $20 in gas for a 400 mile trip. So impressed with the newer model. The employees are friendly and helpful, and aim to please.
This is the absolute worst place to rent a car! While my vehicle was in the shop, I had the misfortune of using Hertz for my replacement. The low tire pressure light came on just after leaving the parking lot, so I called and asked what they would like me to do. I spoke to Al and he advised me to take to the tire place across the street and have them fill up the low tire, which I did. A few days later, I parked the vehicle at the airport while I was out of town and when I returned to the tire pressure light was on again. I drove to the closest gas station and tried to fill the tire, but the air hose at the gas station was broken. So I called the 800# for roadside assistance and was told that it was a preexisting condition and I would not be charged for the towing or the replacement vehicle. I then spent two hours waiting for the tow truck (who didnt do anything other than tell me it was safe to drive back to the airport for a replacement vehicle) and then filling out paperwork for the replacement.After returning the car last week, I was charged $79. When I inquired at the Fairfield Hertz, Al said it was a towing fee. I told him that I wasnt supposed to pay that and he said hed have to speak to a supervisor and would call me within 48 hours. Well, 72 hours later, I still hadnt heard anything so I called back. Al said that his supervisor said that I was responsible for the charges. I asked to speak with this supervisor so I could explain my situation and Al said he would have him call me back. When I didnt receive a phone call back, I decided to call the Hertz corporate headquarters. I will spare you all of the details, but after spending way too long on the phone--and waiting for a return call--I was told by the corporate customer service manager, Mike, that they wouldnt refund the charge. He even read the notes left by the roadside assistance customer service that stated that, should I get charged, I should let my local Hertz know and theyd refund the charge. But that didnt make any difference to Mike and he stood firm that they wouldnt honor their own promises, even after giving me a car with a problem and causing me to spend hours of my life trying to get a replacement. Unbelievable.

Worst HERTZ to go to and very unprofessional customer service I am currently in the rental which I rented for a family trip . After paying for the rental I asked the associate in the office (oldest gentleman) if the rental had any WiFi or if I can be purchase it. Most unhelpful responses I was giving the Hertz employee DID NOT KNOW if the rental had WiFi and he DID NOT know if it can be purchased, and look at me as of saying is there anything else needed. I decided to call customer service, who advised me that the FAIRFIELD Office should be able to assist and to give them a call once they open. At 8am I called to get the same type of unhelpful service stating only the airport does that. NEVER WILL I RENT FROM THIS LOCATION OR BUSINESSES. VERY LOW AND POOR SERVICE.

If you reserve a car online that does not mean the local branch will have a car for you. Was wanting a week rental while my wife car was in for repairs made the reservation get to the local branch said no car should called us directly. Went down to Enterprise they seem to never let me down got a car. You failed your first impression Hertz.

Very positive experience. Just been there once, but they had a good variety of available cars. Plus they insisted on paying for my (short) Lyft ride home after I dropped the car off.
I rented here 2 times...didnt have a problem at all..had to wait a little while because they were crowded my first time here..⛥⛥⛥⛥⛥....thank u to the young man that got me to the bus stop on time.....friendly staff...nowhere is perfect....easy transition....not a fake comment....Im a real customer.....thank u Hertz🖒
I was told I could reserve last minute, I reserved that morning and when I showed up that afternoon at 3:30 for my 4pm reservation the man at the counter told me the only had one vehicle available and it was a luxury one that was more expensive if I wanted it, he said there was nothing he could do because I didnt take the time to call and check for my reservation before a drove to the office, as I was leaving empty handed I noticed and over heard 3 people returning small vehicles.

Be aware they charge a mandatory fee for a full gas tank in the car you reserve!!! This fee is not otherwise stated in your itinerary. I reserved a week rental and was charged a hold fee attached to my rental fee for a full tank of gas before I even returned the car!

I made my reservation online for an economy car. When I got there to pick the car up I was informed that they had no economy car and that I needed to wait until one come in. Total time waiting 2.5 hours. Not sure if hertz does business this way or this branch really misrepresent. There are other options out there people. Go else where

My experience was the worst I have ever had at any car rental company in my life. When I arrived at the vacaville location my rental was given away and I was offered a smaller car. They said that I could pick up the same car in the next city over so i went there. When I got to Fairfield they also gave away my vehicle. Finally 2 hours later I was able to get another vehicle. When I returned my vehicle I was charged an extra $10 Inter city fee when I returned it at the exact same location. The representative had the nerve to ask me if I was sure I returned it at the correct place.The vehicle was also dirty when I received it and smelt like cigarettes. I will never rent from Hertz. I WAS a gold member but I was sad to see that didnt mean anything in your companies eyes. i WILL never recommend this company to even my worse of enemies.
This is the absolute WORST place to rent a car!! STAY AWAY!! They will ABSOLUTELY try to overcharge you for gasoline! After an 90 minute wait, the first car the gave me was the wrong vehicle! The second car the gave me (after a 60 minute wait) had broken air conditioning. ..in 100 degree weather! The terrible story goes on..... I finally reported them to corporate and to AAA who sent me there. Do walk but RUN away from these disorganized, unprofessional crooks!

Horrible place to rent a car. Wont honor the promotion they have on their website when you pay using your credit card online. I rented a chevy camaro or similar and when i came in to pick up the car, the staff first tried to upsell me into a infiniti 2 door i said im good. Then when we went at the back to get my camaro or similar rental... he gave me a kia rio. So i showed him the email/receipt of what im supposed to get i showed him camaro or similar. I said is kia rio similar to a camaro? He told me the email was wrong. So i made it all up? Hahaha very funny and annoying at the same time. He said they dont have a camaro or anything similar anyway so he tried to upsell me again he offered a dodge charger which i will have to put additional cash. I said just give me the toyota corolla. If u see the fat guy with glasses (i think hes hispanic or filipino) in this branch... run and dont look back. Terrible customer service. The black guy whom i returned the car to the next day was nice. Ill try my luck with enterprise next time. Ill never come back to this place ever again. Somewhat dishonest they tell you one thing on their website and another when you come in. And oh by the way the $200 security deposit they take from your card when you pick up your rental takes forever. Its been 4 days i rented on a monday today is saturday and i still have yet to get my $200 back.

Do not. I repeated, do not, ever rent from Hertz especially at this location. I rented a car from them for a week, went to return it and they were complaining about a minimal amount of dirt that was on the floor mat (not excessive, not completely gone, but there was a very small amount there. And ontop of that, they claimed that the car stinks of smoke even though I didnt smoke in the car at all. Unbelievable. Im an honest man and I would completely admit to having smoked in the car. This place is ridiculous.Ontop of that, they have no priority for customer service, when I was picking up the car and dropping it off, each representative was more focused on answering the phones, or chatting with the person behind me or another associate than they were with helping me. Ridiculous.

These guys at Hertz on 1935 N Texas work as a team of scammers and dont deserve to be in business.I found a great car rental rate on Hotwire. This Hertz office quoted the low daily rate for an economy-class car, so I made the reservation. Well, when we arrived to pick up the rental, Al told us they have no small cars at that moment because the cars havent been returned. But he thinks they have a mid-size so he went to check with his guys in the back.Another couple came in and we heard what they told the other guy at the counter while Al was momentarily gone. They told the guy that they had a reservation at noon for an economy sized car but were told by Al it was rented out and only a midsize was available. So 5 hours later, it being after 5pm, they were willing to pay the extra $10/day for the mid sized car. Hmm...So Al came back, mentioned to us he had a mid-size, then saw the other couple and said to the other guy that he was dealing with that other couple all day so he wanted to finish them up. So we were moved over to the other guy. Anyway, the guy checked our reservation and said to us he didnt have any economy cars but hell double check in the back. While we waited again, it looked like the other couple did indeed rent the mid sized car that I thought they were offering us, but hey maybe they had another mid sized car.Well, the other guy came back to the counter and said they had no economy cars returned yet...but he did have a small SUV available--no mention of a midsize. When I asked if it would be rented to us at the same rate quoted on my Hotwire reservation, he said no. My wife and I looked at each other and told the guy no problem, if no economy cars were there then well just leave. Before we walked out the door, he yelled out that we can try calling in 30 minutes.Well, Im not done, the story continues. We were already strapped in our car, shifted in reverse, when another guy knocks on our window. My wife rolls it down and this guy says, you know, we do have a midsize. I asked if theyd rent at the original rate I received on Hotwire and after he learned how much the rate was, he said no. Big surprise.So thats their bait and switch strategy. They attract you with a low rate for an economy car, you come in to find they only have a mid sized or other upgrade classed car, and they hook you because no other cars are available. And they work as a team to try to upsell you or hook you into getting a bigger car.Not ever dealing with these thieves again, and I certainly dont recommend this business to anyone at all. Wherever I can report these scam artists, Ill make sure to do it.
