I applied for an apartment sight unseen and was told if we put down the deposit ($400) plus the application fee of $60 the apartment was ours as long as we were approved. I was told it would take a few days to hear from them. 7 days later (after the checks cleared) I called to see what the move in date would be since wed been told 10-14 days and assumed all was a go when the check cleared. They did not contact ME in spite of sending emails requesting information about the application. Only then was I told someone had applied for the apartment the day before us and the next move in date wasnt until the middle of the next month! I could have been told this at any point in the prior 9 daysNot only did we have to scramble to find another place AND put down another deposit the staff was RUDE to us and never even apologized for THEIR screw up that caused extreme inconvenience and money.They have refused to refund the application fees because they are non refundable even for an apartment that wasnt even available! We would never have applied for something already rented.They have not returned any emails asking the status of deposit return or phone messages. It has now been FOUR weeks since they took my money and I still do not have it back. I called AGAIN this afternoon and was told it would be mailed tomorrow. I said Id pick it up and was told they had to check and see if that was allowed.I would NEVER deal with this company again
This management has caused me so much distress. I have been trying to fix a water issue at my apartment since I have moved in. Good luck getting a response if you have problems. It’s been three months of me having to pay extra money. The staff is so unhelpful and rude. Do not rent from these people; you will regret it.
I have roaches in my apartment and they do not care! No one replies back to emails or phone calls! This has been a nightmare and I’ve only lived there one month! Hannah doesn’t care about the residents, she ignores you and doesn’t even care if the issue gets solved or not!
Properties on website look good, Im looking forward to seeing them in person.
I lived at an Engage property several (5-ish) years ago, when it was still a Salter property. I loved my apartment and moved because we were both working in Little Rock when our lease expired. I was super nervous when we moved out, we are particular and really didnt want to be hit with a big bill after leaving our apartment in what we considered to be excellent condition. I think we got our full deposit back, but it has been several years, so Im not 100% sure. I loved the maintenance team when I lived there, Im sure theyve both moved on to other jobs now, but they always took care of us and were super mindful of our 2 cats. There was one thing that took a while to figure out, our HVAC kept leaking in the summer. We ended up putting a tote where it was leaking and just dumped it out periodically. That was a hard summer, several super hot days. I can say it prepared me to live in a house! We lived at St. James, which has several apartments that are only 1 story, there is no one living above you. I can recommend that place!
Very rude and unhelpful both in person and over the phone. unattended office, i waited for at least 20 minutes before i was able to get somebody’s attention. the staff are patronizing, unwilling to work with applicants, and on multiple occasions omitted pertinent information that caused unnecessary setbacks in the application process. for a company whose business is selling apartments, they don’t seem too interested in selling an apartment. im glad they let their ugly show before i signed a contract
I needed to temporarily relocate closer to family for a summer. Getting an apartment was cheaper than a hotel.I rented at the Row houses @ hendrix village for 6months.The management and maintenance team was always responsive. Took care of any requests I had. They sent some pests companies out because its arkansas and theres bugs. The place was nice, neighbors were quiet. The trails nearby were good to walk with my dogs.There were some weird quirks like a light bulb replacement was $9 or something weird. The lights in the parking lot didnt stay on at night, they sort of cycled on and off slowly. The windows were poorly sealed so one side of the apartment had a bunch of noise leak inside from the road. They didnt really open either. Not a big deal because it was summer, but would have been annoying in spring and fall when you want open windows. It felt like the Hendrixs staff mowed 3 times a week. I was working from home and they were just constantly mowing or weed eating. With that said, I did tell them I had a meeting about to happen on the phone one day. I asked if they could come back in an hour and they did. Super nice about it too.Overall though great place, I was happy with my experience.
I’m giving 2 stars because the friendliness of the maintenance crew makes up to some degree for Engage Management’s seemingly complete lack of empathy for their tenants. Engage doesn’t seem to be interested in spending lots of money, which is reasonable for businesses in general, but when that money is needed to go toward repairs to the homes they’re providing for tenants, that’s the last place that they should be cutting corners. My dishwasher has been broken since I moved in over 1.5 years ago, and I eventually gave up after they came in and replace the entire unit and it still didn’t work. I just hand wash my dishes now. They seem to be all about cheap temporary solutions (such as merely rearranging the 50 year old pipes around our 50 year old indoor AC unit to stop a leak and replacing the thermostat on the same unit when it stops working again later on). It has taken several instances of broken AC and several calls for them to finally allow maintenance to properly repair the unit and replace the actually broken parts. Just overall a very frustrating experience.
If you need living arrangements in the Conway area, please call Engage Management!! Without a doubt, this is the best decision you will make!!!!!!!!!! In desperation I called Engage Management on a late Friday afternoon needing a living arrangement THAT DAY!!! for our daughter. Sydney Mauldin was not only sensitive and attentive to my situation, she worked diligently for the rest of the afternoon to make sure our daughter had a lease completed and ready to move in that same day. I would recommend Sydney and Engage Management for anyone needing residence in Conway, AR.
I do not recommend renting through this property. They have a $400 deposit and when you move out your suppose to get $200 deposit back well my apartment was the same exact way it was when I moved in and I only received $40 back because extra fees were added somehow and I was charged for not getting a new part for my stove. Definitely didnt know that was my JOB! Also requesting maintaince was horrible.. it took them days to come fix things I had to fix myself. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!

I agree with some others. I have only rented twice in my life. The first part of the rental experience was good but it did not go well.I called nine times from July 9 to July 27. No one contacted me. Finally on my 10th call the person that I had been dealing with an-swerved the phone. To say that I was disappointed with both the agent and SalterProperties would be an understatement
Hi- not only has my rental gone downhill and become full of pests(roaches and mice) since being taken over by engage, but now, maintenence comes by without being called, with no warning, leaves the door wide open to let my cat get out, lets themselves in without knocking, and several pairs of my panties have now gone missing from my dirty laundry. There is also no contact information I can find that works.
My experience with this company is that they have complete incompetence. I had to wait 3 months of me non-stop calling them just to put a new doorknob on after one maintenance guy took it off when it stopped opening. I had to wait 2 and a half months to get my deposit check back. I will never rent from this company again.
Absolutely terrible experience with the customer service....I’m not sure they even know what it means!!! I would never recommend renting from Salter or Engage. I think they believe us all to be college students that don’t care!!! Hate to say this...I’ve got 3 more months and can not wait to move out....
Have tried to contact multiple times using email, their website messaging and calling. Each time ignored or passed on to another person. Would never recommend to anyone.
Worst experience for property purchase from then on add and every where they showed property size something different and when accessed by the accessor property size sync and they fool people in every way just to make money.
