Nothing but great service and stay. The staff welcomes you in like family. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a place in a beautiful area of Chicago.
I stayed at Canterbury Court Apartments for 5 months in 2020 when I was looking to buy my own place. All apartments are furnished with reasonable rent. Its an older building but it locates in Gold Coast and it provides all you need. I rented a studio and it came with a full-sized bed, 2 end tables/night stands, a desk, a lamp, two chairs, a dinning table, a sofa, a coffee table, and two trash cans. All utilities and internet are included in the rent. There is always someone on duty on the 1st floor. The door staff and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. After I moved out, they forwarded my mails to my new address. The deposit were fully refunded within 45 days after I moved out together with 2 days of rent (I moved out at the 29th). I would recommend Canterbury Court Apartments to my friends who want to rent a furnished apartment in a safe neighborhood with reasonable rent.
I lived there for a few month 2007-2008. A great place for a young person to stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. When I returned to Germany and needed some receipts they helped me and sent over whatever I needed.
Good value for money and absolutely recommendable for a stay up to one year. I lived there for 6 months and had a furnished studio. The staff was always helpful and very professional. It is of course not in the luxury category and also not the newest building, but it is ideal for young businesspeople (like me at this time) young professionals and even (international) students who want to stay at a first class location, but still need to watch their budget. Finally, I want to highlight the neighborhood: Chicago’s Gold Coast is hands down one of the best neighborhoods in the entire country. It offers almost everything: shopping on Michigan Avenue, dining in world class restaurants and even relaxing on the beach (yes, Chicago has many beaches and I highly recommend Oak Street Beach). I had a great time there and don’t regret that I made this choice.
Best place I have ever lived at. Lovely people and great location. Absolutely recommend!
Studios are very fairly priced in a great location. Staff is always super nice and move in was easy with their help. So far stuff gets fixed the same day you let them know something is broken. Awesome rental all along!
Yes, I am glad to say very good management. No lies, what they say they do it. I like their flexible contract facility, along with everything being furnished and bills included. Internet is fast. Owner is very understanding, if you have personal problems.I ended up living here for 6 months, if you want to live waking distance from Downtown and Michigan avenue, be sure to stay here as everything is handy and no hassle or worry of buying any furniture, etc. Because its an older building, your room comes with higher ceilings. This is your long term hotel option!Areas of improvement - I would like it if they allowed to let you view a couple of rooms for you to choose from. There were misunderstandings at the beginning with the then manager (Joan), but I am happy that they were able to let her go eventually. The room I viewed at showing had double and bigger couches and there were other rooms having bigger couches for the same price, but i personally was given a room with a SINGLE couch for 1 person. Now, while this was fine for me as I was mostly alone but there was no room to seat guests. Therefore I would recommend you ask to check or see few rooms prior to move in so you can choose the one you like.Overall everything is good and they didnt charge extra for repairs, cleanings etc.
Great place to stay! Everyone at the front desk is incredibly nice and right in the middle of downtown Chicago!I hope to stay here again sometime soon.
I stayed for more than 4 months in Canterbury Court Apartments. I enjoyed my stay a lot and the people working there and the management are friendly, nice and helpful. The apartment was a fully furnished one-bedroom studio and it was spacious. The rent was affordable compared to the other furnished apartments in the Downtown. Everything except the AC was included in the monthly rent; the fast internet, the heating and all other utilities. The best thing is this place is near to everything, just few blocks from everything you need to do.
Wonderful staff. Ideal location. Stayed here from Sep 2011 to Dec 2011 and again from Jan 2015 to June 2015. Enjoyed a comfortable stay.
Considering that its in a very pricey neighborhood, its still relatively affordable. Fantastic location, literally everything you need is within a couple of blocks. Management is super friendly and didnt make any unreasonable rules. I dont consider myself to be a city person but if I had to live in the city this would probably be my top choice.
My stay was wonderful, secure and safe. It is a vintage property, hence handled with care. Turn around time for complaints if any is good. The office and staff go by the books and by the rules. Though it may seem hard at times, thats the bargain for safe and secure places. You know they wont break rules. Zebra lounge in the building is the second oldest bar license holder in Chicago. The walls have stories and every person who visits there too. Everything that one may need to live is accessible within two blocks radius literally.
Fabulous location - close to the Lake, grocery stores, restaurants, everything. Safe neighborhood and they have a person at the door 24 hours. Our unit was furnished, wi-fi and utilities included in the rent. We needed a short term lease while we awaited our visa to move to Europe and they offered that. When we werent sure our visa would come through by the end of the lease, they offered to work with us. Staff is extremely helpful and polite. While the furnishings and apartment were just basic (no frills) it was very clean. There was an abundance of hot water -- never ran out! Really enjoyed our time there.
I stayed here for about half a year. The neighborhood is a bit loud, but also close to the Loop and safe due to being surrounded by so many bars, clubs, and restaurants (and thus, cops). The building itself is antique, but I had a great time staying in my apartment, which came furnished, had a great view, and was clean when I got there. Plus, the management was always ready to assist whenever I needed something done or replaced. Overall Id recommend staying in CCA.
Location Location Location! This was my second stay at Canterbury Court Apartments. I have only praise for this place. I dont need to explain how nice it is stay in downtown Chicago. Whats great about this place is the pricing and by the books staff. Apartments are fully furnished including a bed. Heat and electricity is included in your bill. 150$ additional for 2--4 months if you want to install an AC during the summer. Well heated. Never had any issues with the heating. Security is great. They wont let anyone knock at your door without your permission. All service requests were answered in a timely fashion. Courteous staff. Corner apartments are spacious(back side). Front corner apartments are stylish and you do get a glimpse of the lakes on higher floors. My friends middle apartment was executive style. One star less as apartments are old( I honestly felt they were classy). If they add additional finesse to the interior then 5stars for sure. Also If you are a quite person avoid the apartment facing the division street( can get noisy on the weekends)
Lived here for a semester in 2011. Interesting experience but nothing bad happened while we stayed there and it proved to be a GREAT location. Rush street was close by and offers a safe city experience.
I stayed there for 3 months in 2014.location was perfect, Joan and the other staff were very helpful and pleasant.I enjoyed every day i lived there. The maintenance crew where quite helpful when we needed them.public transport was also convenient.
Friendly and helpful manager and maintenance, safe and convenient neighborhood, furnished apartments and utility included all encourage me to stay here for long.
Rent was comparably cheap, but my floor smelled like smoke really bad. You gotta be lucky on the floors youll be living in.
This is an older apartment building and it low in price. However, like many older apartments there are maintence issues. The windows need to be sealed because there was cold air and rain that came into the window. There was also an outlet that did not work. The room was a typical, small studio apartment.
I lived for 2 years and the furniture was in good condition and the manager was friendly.
