I recently went to tour around the complex. None of the employees were wearing masks in the middle of a pandemic and were not socially distanced from us. They showed us pictures of the complex that were literally posted online instead of showing us around so it was a complete waste of time. The apartments from the outside looked nice but the area itself wasnt the best.
I used to live at University Crossings at Charlotte.... It was an absolute nightmare. My room constantly flooded, and they would always charge me for the electric bills with the fans in my room to dry out the room instead of fixing the issue. My roommates were a disaster, and not even students. After a year, I had to move. I decided to come to Walden Station, mainly because it is right behind the Engineering Campus. However, moving to Walden turned out to be the best apartment complex ever. The staff is extremely friendly, rooms are much nicer, roommates are angels. I couldnt be happier with this place. The staff makes you feel like youre at home and apart of a family. They also give out free food and merchandise on occasions. Thank you Walden!!
I went to walden station and the people in the office are super nice. corey and drew were helpful and really nice . They help answer all my questions and had on mask . Im excited to move there.
Overall my experience living at Walden has been a positive one. They’re a bit wishy-washy about how fast they respond to work orders though. However, if that’s my only complaint then I think that’s a good thing!
Accessable parking spots and close to lots of great shops
I lived at Walden Station for 4 years and it was a pleasant experience from day 1. The office staff is incredible and they will get to know you and take the time to say hi when you see them. The grounds are kept in really nice condition and it stays quiet at night. If you are serious about college and you want a place to stay that allows you to study when you need to, and to relax at the pool on the weekends, this is the place. Three main issues: the internet (which I hear is getting better), the parking can be tough at times, and the recent addition of the green way behind the buildings brought some crime to the community. With that said, the crime was limited to break-ins on the ground floor and the staff were very responsive including: holding a community meeting with police and residents, installing ring systems, and improving the paroling of community security. Do not let the three complaints steer you away from Walden, it is by far one of the top places to live if you are going to UNCC.
Walden Station is a wonderful complex, by far one of the best in the area. The grounds are always clean and quiet, I always felt safe. The office staff is genuinely amazing and so helpful which is pretty unheard of. Parking was never much of an issue and the pool is always kept nicely. Im only moving because they dont offer 4 bedrooms but if given the opportunity Ill be back, and I highly recommend this complex to others.
Walden Station was totally the right choice for me! I LOVE my apartment. Its spacious and clean and has all the amenities that I need. I love to cook so the openness of the kitchen and surface area is really a huge plus. Tad and Meaghan have been amazing to work with from signing my lease to the ease of move in and are always engaged and caring every time I walk into the office. The community is great, really a good place for upperclassmen and graduate students as its relatively quiet. The blue lights add an extra element of safety and remind you as well to be diligent. One of the best things is that you have an option to purchase a parking space that is your dedicated place. I love this feature as at my last apartment, parking was a huge challenge as it is for many student living housing facilities. You can also have a pet here and many people do which is pretty awesome because its a great way to meet people! The property is maintained well and I would highly recommend this community to any student looking for an optimal housing experience.
I have been living here for few years, The place is so good, the maintenance team is very fast. The club house is perfect. However, there are two reasons which made me give 3 stars to this property. The internet connection quality inside apartments is not good. There is sometimes parking issue but I have to say that during summers there is no parking issue here.Update Nov 2020: The internet issue is completely resolved here. So best place to live around campus!
Had a wonderful stay subleasing at Walden Station during the summer time for an internship. I stayed 8 weeks and really enjoyed my unit. Room was very spacious and I got my own bathroom. Affordable rent and parking included. In fact, during the summer time, I got to park outside of my unit without any problem. Management was very nice and helped whenever I needed them. Really quiet neighborhood with lots of nearby food options. Would definitely recommend!
Son has had a nice stay here. The apartments are nice and well maintained. The biggest problem I see is the location of the new light rail station near the apartments. The light rail is going to bring more crime to an already crime ridden University area. Today, March 19 2018, approximately seven vehicles were broken into and only 3 days after the light rail was opened.
I just want to say ROE is the best person ever !! She might be the property manager but she is Soo chill and cool and reasonable !! She is the best help !
Best place Ive ever lived! I would put this place up against any other complex in Charlotte. Great amenities as well as great service. Definitely give this place a look if youre in the university area.
I love Walden Station. I am living here for the second year in a row for multiple reasons. One reason I stayed was the staff, they are always friendly and helpful. Another (major) reason I stayed was the LOCATION, these apartments are seriously in an ideal location. I walk to school (no $500 parking pass for me). I can also walk to Food Lion, Kohls, Boardwalk Billys, and other locations in walking distance (there are many). I love the fact that the apartments are furnished, have patios, and have all the utilities bundled in with the rent. Overall these apartments are probably the nicest and most convenient student apartments in the University Area.
Moved to Walden Station after transferring to UNC Charlotte and could not be happier with the choice I made! The apartments are great, my neighbors are so nice, and the office staff is amazing. Maintenance always there when you need them, and anything you could need in walking distance. Wouldnt live anywhere else in Uni City!
I have lived at Walden Station for over a year now, and I wouldnt live anywhere else! The community is fairly small and very quiet, I have never had an issue with loud noises. The staff is very professional and helpful, plus they are always trying their hardest to make our stay here even better. Walden Station is very clean and safe, I am glad to call this my home!
I wish I could give this place more STARS!! Roe is super sweet and always takes care of everyone! I absolutely loved staying at Walden Station. Being a student at UNCC I stayed at 901 Place when I was sophomore mostly because of their decent prices and you get what you pay for. That place was filled with bugs and maintenance issues. Then I moved here!!! I had a one bedroom which was amazing as a college student having your own apartment in this beautiful complex, LOVE!! I never had any issues, they take such good care of their apartments and I always felt safe. Then I had to move due to prices going up, now I stay at The Flats at Campus Pointe, its night and day compared to Walden Station. Definitely LIVE HERE!!! Youll love it!
Lived here for the past year and really like it! Management is super nice, maintenance is quick, and the property is safe and clean! Great place to stay!
This is an AWFUL apartment complex. My friend subleased from them and the morning after she moved in, she woke up covered in bites. Pest control came out and it turned out that the apartment was INFESTED WITH FLEAS!!! Pest control told her that it would take 3 weeks to abate them, which was the duration of her sublease. She obviously wanted to leave, but after spending a week talking to the apartment complex, they told her that if she left, she would be responsible for the rent. Are you kidding???? By the time she turned in her keys (which was only a week after her arrival), she had paid $614 for a room she couldnt live in and had over 100 flea bites all over her body, some of which had turned into open wounds because she was allergic to the flea bites. They also charged her $160 in fees when she applied, which they did not tell her about up front. This is a sleazy, money-hungry apartment complex. I will never be renting from them and I suggest you do the same.
It used to be way better with the old management. The new manager is a b****. if you are wondering why they have 4.8 stars? well, they invited residents to give them 5 stars in a chance to win a gift card. notice that most of the reviews were published in the same time. Coincidence? hmm, I dont think so.
I️ have lived at Walden Station for almost a year . I️ moved here because I️t seemed to be the safiest place to stay based off the reviews and how much you are paying a month .My apartment has been broken into twice and we also live on the basement floor, the first time I️t was over the summer and they pretty much blamed us for keeping the window cracked . We took the necessary precautions they gave us so that we wouldn’t get broken into again . Then two months later someone broke in and cracked our back Glassdoor . They stole our computers, our loved ones gifts and money . They fixed our back door and then put our couch infront of the door. We asked to be released from our leases and their response was find someone else to lease or they could move us to a new apartment when one became available, which would be no time soon being that everyone there had signed their leases till July . My roommates and I️ spoke with the property manager at Browns Investment, she was no help . We asked her what would happen a third time and she told us to pray . Walden Station did say they would place an alarming system in the basement apartments but I️ believed that should have happened the first time .
Situated between UNC Charlotte, grocery stores, restaurants, greenways, nightlife, and soon train transit throughout the city, Walden Station apartments are everything a college student needs and more. The staff at Walden are friendly quick to solve problems to ensure the comfort of every resident. All of the floor plans are beautifully designed with spacious rooms and high ceilings. If you are looking for comfort, and proximity to everything you need, all at a great price, Walden Station should be your first choice.-Charles Rose Jr, Second Year Resident at Walden
Ive been living at Walden Station since the begining of this semester (Fall 2014) and I have to say its been amazing. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. Whenever we have had something that needed to be fixed or looked at, the response was quick. The appartments were extremely clean when we moved in.One thing that I can think about that could use some work would be the gym. But other than that everything is amazing.
I had an accident, I was in the hospital and I had no idea when I will be discharged. As soon as I find out I email them that I can no longer live in my apartment on the 3rd floor. They tell me we dont have any apartments avialable on the first floor. Then with a letter from the hospital I terminate my lease. Then I find out even though I had a letter from the hospital and school saying that I can’t climb stairs, Since the date I notified them of my leaving was not a month before I moved out of the apartment wasnt a month earlier, even though I was in the hospital with severe injuries, they did not give back my security deposit of 715 bucks. This is so unfair!
I slept in the woods out back, and showered at the pool.. it was nice... alot cheaper than renting an apartment
Would not suggest that anybody lives here. management sucks. parking sucks. security sucks. and its not worth your time or money. youve been warned.
Great place to stay! Great community and amenities!!
Visitor parking is terrible. Sometimes there are never any visitor spots open and they put a boot on your car within minutes if you park in a regular spot
The current management is the worst management that you would ever see. Never rent here. Im warning you!
