I currently stay here now; and so far no. Never again. At first everything was great the person who help me get here. She was wonderful and tend to my needs. But as soon as she left everything when down hill. My AC currently does not work, I’ve been having pest problems for the pass 1-2 weeks and now roaches are starting to appear. (Mind you I keep my house clean). I’ve been having AC issues since March, and it’s broken as we speak. I was call and let everyone one know was going on but nothing get solved. I will not be renewing my lease. I literally have and infant, and I feel no one cares. Never again. This place is not it
Scammed into paying an application fee. I offered to come back in person but they insisted on calling me. They never called or contacted me. The leasing office is randomly closed in the middle of the day during posted business hours.
Ive lived at this complex for three years, and in that time the property has changed hands three separate times, each (according to public records) for a progressively higher price. This community is treated as nothing more than an investment property by the owners (who you, as a resident, cant even contact directly) and as a liability for the management company.Stairs are often covered in garbage and the units have faulty plumbing full of patchwork repairs and potential failure points, so mold should be an expectation. Plus, the community recently invested in a security detail whose entire role seems to be flashing their blinding white strobe lights in the parking lot right outside your bedroom window until 2 AM. Every. Single. Night. The most recent time the property changed hands, the residents werent told until a day before rent was due. Of course the new online portal hadnt been set up yet, so they demanded payment in the form of a cashiers check or money order. To make matters worse, they didnt even inform residents via email or a text. They taped (yes taped) a notice to my door. Given the humidity, I was shocked that the tape held up and didnt blow away into one pile of rotting garbage or another dotting the complex. My ceiling had a leak for three months. I called, I emailed, I sent in videos, and nothing ever changed. They painted over the water-damaged spots in the ceiling twice, but (of course) never actually addressed the issue until I called 311 and asked for an inspection of my unit. That finally got their attention and they solved the problem within 48 hours. At first, this seemed like a wonderful affordable little community, near enough to the places I needed to be. But it just keeps getting worse and worse. Im finally going to move out in two weeks, and I will never turn back.
Ive live here for a couple of years and I do like living here its a nice quiet area and convenient I like that security is on the property at night now I really havent had any real bad experience. From the reviews Ive read I do have to agree that trash and other debris or furniture people leave behind on the property are very slow to be removed especially in the back area of the property
They don’t even pick up the phone in office or let you know rather your application was approved or not
The office is so wishy washy. Neighbors are loud. No one knows how to park correctly. Trash all over everywhere. Very unprofessional office staff. My apartment is very outdated and over priced. I would advise renting elsewhere.
Literally the worst apartment ever. It’s so dirty, cops are always here, the owners tell lie after lie, amenities are never open, etc. Live anywhere else!
Since new owners took over, we are now paying almost $50 more due to them changing utility companies, the sewage and water is much higher and youre also being charged for stormwater and bill processing fees, I dont believe by changing companies should not have to increase to that extent, and all you get when you asked them about the increase is the run around. Thats bad business.
This a very nice area to live the apartments are large, also the maintenance staff is very responsive.
My wife and I are relocating to Charlotte and this was the first complex we viewed! Complex is nice and so is Raven in the leasing office very professional 👍🏾
I just love living here Kaia is always so helpful and always offers to help with anything I need. I would recommend anyone who wants to move here to speak with her !!!! On top of that the maintenance always keep up with what needs to be done thank you Hudson commons employees and staff
Called them about 5 times to ask if they had any units available they never picked up it even sounded like they picked up and hung right back up. I don’t understand why they have people working there if they not going to pick up their phone. I literally RATE THIS PLACE A 0
This has been a groovy place to live in. The staff is kind and prompt. My 2 bedroom 2 bathroom was spacious and cute. The neighbors were cool and kept to themselves. Anytime I needed a repair or inquiry the response was always less than 24 hours. The property was maintained well by landscaping staff, pool cleaners, carpenters etc.Hudson Commons is right in the happenings of the University area but, hidden enough for privacy. I adore living here. Check it out you wont be disappointed 😊
Overall I love my residence. When I first moved here I wasn’t pleased. I’ve been here for two years it’ll be three in October. I use to get floods and almost filed for a court order. Ever since the new staff in the leasing office arrived a year ago they have changed my experience drastically. I almost gave up living here. I am glad I stayed. I love their sense of kindness and how helpful they are and I greatly appreciate them.
I love staying here, no one bothers me not even my neighbors (anymore) they are doing their absolute best to insure the property is well kept and managed. Every time I call about a maintenance issue it gets resolved RIGHT AWAY! I can’t not stress that enough, I called yesterday at 3pm to get my locks changed and they were changing them at 345pm it is such a at ease feeling when you know that the company and the staff have empathy and cater to the needs done ASAP! My AC went out over the summer and they were out to my apartment within the hour. I also stay in a remodeled apartment with all NEW EVERYTHING! It’s worth the rent!!!
They must be out of their minds if they think those small old one bedrooms are worth over 600 dollars regardless of location. Took a tour and the woman giving me the tour said absolutely nothing about the apartment when she showed it to me because there was nothing she could say it was terrible. Old cabinetry that didnt close all the way. And the washer and dryer were clearly from the 80s. And it was suppose to be ready to move in. What a joke.
I been here since 2017, the community has change. isn’t safe no more, numerous gun shots. I’ve been having problems with my ac, for 2 summers now. My son has chronic asthma, and they can careless. My ac currently not working, needs new thermostat and motor. I will be going over the Mgmt head and contacting corporate office.
Kaia was amazing! She was extremely helpful in our apartment search and we are strongly considering making this our home. Her customer service is great, she was helpful and informative!
When I first moved into these apartments I was not happy with my old stove. The apartment itself is big. My neighbors are very noisy and dirty and I have experienced multiple gun shots. I feel unsafe and I am glad I only signed a 10 month lease. I am moving out of here ASAP!
Ive been here for 3 years and am finally starting to feel taken care of by the leasing office. Elda is THE BEST. I know that if I submit a request with her, the job will get done. I know that if I voice a concern with her, it wont go unnoticed. Elda truly has a passion for helping others feel comfortable and it shows. Her positivity and personality have made impacts on me that Ill never forget :)
I lived here for a year while attending graduate school. The rent is a fair price (I paid $800 for an upgraded one bedroom apt.) and the office staff is friendly. Unfortunately, the property is quite old and it shows in some places. Despite the best efforts of the maintenance crews (who I would rate 5 stars), the apartment required repairs quite often. The major problem was water infiltration at the windows and concrete slab (first floor apartment). This could be attributed to improper installation of waterproofing above and below the apartment. I could see the drain pipe sitting on top of the soil outside my apartment (rendering it ineffective and allowing water to flood my patio). This apartment comes with all of the standard administrative procedures that always come back to bite those who don’t read the fine print. Nothing special there. Overall, renters beware of the state (and orientation) of your particular apartment/unit because the property age, combined with years of temporary fixes, has impeded proper facility operation and quality control. So not all apartments/units are the same. Inspect yours carefully upon entry.
I was asleep in my apartment and someone had knocked not saying a word. I didnt answer because I was alone and didnt feel comfortable opening the door. I didnt make a move but stayed quiet only to hear my door open and close. Again no one said anything. I got up a few minutes later and someone came back and did the same. I reported to the office and they said maintenance was going around checking our water. That Im very upset with. My life couldnt been jeopardy had I not known. I never received an email about this either. Hudson Commons could do a lot better!!!!!!
Today I went in to tour these apartments and Kaia assisted me. I realized she had been the one I was talking with a few days before visiting. I just remember a very pleasant and bubbly lady over the phone and she helped me set up the appointment upon arriving. I get there and she kept that same energy lol. Kaia was certainly welcoming and gave me all the details I wanted to move forward and showed me a tour with no problem. She was inviting and welcoming, if I decide to move in its certainly her that inspired me lol.Thank you Kaia for your wonderful service miss lady! XOXO
The lady that helped us was new but wonderful, Kaia was her name. Definitely considering this place, nice area, decent price.
After Talking to The New Customer Friendly Manager Kim, Ive Retracted Some Comments. She Has Spear Headed This Project Of Getting Contractors Here To Fix The Flood Issue In My Apartment, She Is Professional Unlike The Staff That Works In The Office. Her staff Really Needs To Mimic Her Professionalism. Kim Is Great! Thanks For The Fast Response.
First the good:Location is great. The neighborhood is quiet during the day. Contrary to most of the other reviews, I found the management willing to help but probably just overwhelmed with all the issues going on at the complex. The bad:The apartment complex is overpriced and old. The maintenance people are nice but slow to fix things because again the place is old and outdated. Overall the new management is trying to turn the place around but theres not much anyone can do when a whole building burns down and leaves multiple families homeless...
Horrible move in experience. Keys were not ready upon my arrival, bathroom was filthy upon move in and I moved in while cleaning crew was still “cleaning” my apartment. Office staff not knowledgeable providing incorrect information in regards to apartment amenities. One month later I am still waiting to hear from corporate in regards to the condition of my apartment at move in. Do not move here. If I could give a zero star rating, I would.
The leasing office energy is shifting for the better. Positive energy and willingness to help as well as understand issues on the property...Ive been here for 4yrs and seen people come and go.Very nice property and prime location for price.#light rail#boardwalk Just needs to be upgraded like the area surrounding it ASAP mainly internally! 👍
Have lived here for 3+ years and its only getting worse. The management changed and its been down hill since then. There has been multiple new fees popup and new policies that try to fine you anyway they can. Definitely not the same place it was when I moved in.
I havent moved into this apartment complex yet and Im already second guessing my decision. 1) communication with this place has been HORRIBLE. I called multiple times and it took 4 days before anyone picked up the phone. When they did pick up, they ran me off as quick as possible. 2) I went in asking for a showing of a similar apartment that I would be renting. The person on duty said she had one exactly like it to show me, grabbed keys, then waited until she got to the unit to tell me this may not be the right one but you just need to see the floor plan so youll be okay. I wouldnt have cared much if the apartment I was shown wasnt so filthy and downright disgusting and SO outdated. Appliances look decades old. Cabinets were centuries old and the bathroom was just dirty. This is NOT what you want to show to someone who is considering moving in. The only thing that made me not cancel my plans right away is because I know my future unit was renovated. I will be returning to view a similar unit again. Hopefully Ill be shown the right one this time. If Im not satisfied I will definitely be taking my money elsewhere.
This is the first apartment complex that Im sad to leave! The folks in the office are very sweet and always willing to work on things with you. Ive never had an issue with the front desk/customer service.Neighbors are a different story, but as the complex completes more and more renovations its bringing in nicer and cleaner people.Overall, a great place to live and is a SUPER convenient location for a student and is crazy close to the highway.
Id give it 5 stars because this is a quiet place to stay with access to most stores. I literally walk to the boardwalk and Sams club from here. Im however giving it 1 star because of poor customer. First of all, they change the leasing office staff like everyday and so is the management company. I had an issue with paying my rent online and for some reason, it would not go through. I tried the next day which happens to be the 6th of the month, the payment went through. I received a call few days later from the office that I have a late payment fee on my account, mind you, Ive NEVER been late on my rent or any of my bills. I explained to the lady what happened, she said okay, let me talk to the manager and give you a call back. I NEVER got a call back so I assumed that this was resolved at the office and the fee waived. That never happened. Rent is due again, I go back online to pay as usual, the fee is there. I walk in to the office to talk about it just for me to find out that the person who gave me a call NEVER mentioned it to the manager. I ended up paying the fee because they claim they have other payment methods, yes you do, it still would have been late because Id still have to wait till the next day for the office to open and I pay with check because your payment portal would not let me pay. To add, theyll always show you one thing and you get something else at the end. The staff that gave me a tour showed me a model with black appliances and NEVER mentioned that it was different from what will be in my unit. I asked to see the unit Ill be moving into, they told me stories just for me to come on move in date and see some white old appliances and cabinets.
I have had the worst experience with Hudson commons. At my move in date I experienced moving into a none “move in ready” apartment. Multiple things where still incomplete. The maintenance adjusted my thermostat with our permission and did not adjust it back. I could not unpack my home for a while due to the fact that they had vendors coming in and out of my home. I am very disappointed and unfortunately I was unable to move out due to my busy schedule and it’s a major inconvenience for me to have to move out of my apartment after moving in. I will not refer this apartment complex. I have attempted to reach out to corporate and I never received a response. And management tried but my personal opinion it was not enough. Just to be clear Kiara Jackson (front office rep) was amazing
Bell Apartments bought this place about 2 years ago and boy howdy has it gotten better. Now I wouldnt recommend living here if you have a 9-5 job but if you like listening to trap music in your 04 Corola or yelling at your babydaddy in the parking lot at 2 am this is the place for you. The building is so old that window screens dont fit on the windows meaning theres no pesky barriers to keep your little bug friends out. You can find weed (or anything else) here easy if you ask around. Just follow your nose. You hear the cars on I-85 24/7 so you never feel alone. The power cuts out whenever theres a heavy rain.Yay candlelight dinner! Mantinence staff is allways on call. Also no worries about trash pickup. Just throw it down the stairs. Your neighbors wont mind one bit. 2 stars because hey its better than living under a bridge!
The experience you will have once you are a tenant is going to be completely different, and significantly worse than you will when you are signing the lease. I am completely dissatisfied with my interaction with the staff that manages the property on site. What is also interesting is how they have no regard for existing, paying tenants. I work with clients and have seen better ways of handling paying tenants / customers.
Apartments definitely shows their age and maintenance does very minimum as with any property. At move in the carpet was soiled. Pet hair still coming out of carpet from the last tenant. Communication sucks between everyone from office to maintenance. Washer/Dryer was broken for three weeks. Maintenance came in and said they would have to order a new one. Two weeks later, nothing. Called back and they knew nothing about the new washer/dryer. Water heater busted above me four months ago and they had to drill holes in my ceiling and its yet to be fixed along with water stains on the wall from the leak. Some of the office staff are very friendly and others not so much. Emails often go un responded especially if its negative. Property is kept for the most part clean and its really quite that is about the only positives. Apparently my unit is renovated, but Im not so sure what they consider renovations.
The people and staff here is lovely. Very quite neighborhood. The staff keeps the neighborhood clean and organized. I have no complaints. I love it here!
Theres room for their improvement, especially in interactions between current residents and the office staff. However, its not fair if we give comments only when were upset. The maintenance team is effective, helpful, and friendly. They also seem very responsive overall.
I didn’t like it when I went to visit the complex, I know someone who lives out there and they stated that their packages went missing from their porch.
The apartments are beautiful and the entire staff is so nice and caring. I’m glad we moved here.
This apartment is ratchet and the leasing staff (aside from the supervisor) do not care about the residents or their issues with the apartment their paying for. The noise level is way too loud and is playing at all times of the night every day of the week. My apartment was not clean before I moved in. There was pet dander on the carpet, vandalism on my bedroom wall and spiders in my bathroom. I expressed my issues with leasing staff member Elda and she was completely rude and never help me with anything. Needless to say I am not happy with my move in process.
The apartments are fine, but they this apartment complex actively finds ways to charge you more money. I was unfortunate enough to live here and forgot to get my car registered the month it was due. I went to go to work and my car was gone. They employee a company to feed off the occupants.
I like it for the walkability but it is overpriced being that it is an old outdate complex (the stucco popcorn paint is falling off the ceilings and the ac vents are gross. The new staff (been here longer than a month) is ok better than the last rotation of people they had.
I retracted a bad review. I talked to the manager, Jamie, and also Tasha, and they were helpful and provided me with a plan to solve the problem. I did my part and now I am very comfortable and the problems are solved. Very effective management we have here.
I did not live there, but I tried to apply. They were unprofessional during the application process. I am not talking about a particular employee, but what happened was absurd. They gave me a price quote for 48 hours, we applied on the same day online through their website. Their website does not give you the option to pay the application fee online. When I came back to their office to pay the application fee in person before the 48 hours expire, they told me that the unit may not be available anymore. Although they have other units available, but they asked for higher price. They did not respect their quote nor the submitted online application.Avoid if possible.
I wouldn’t recommend this complex. Multiple times this year I have heard gunshots coming from within the complex and just this past week someone was shot inside of the complex. Very unsafe place! Rent is also overpriced for how old the apartments are.
Absolutely the worst management team around. They will lie to you with a straight face. The maintenance crew are incapable of fixing anything. Dont ever need them to fix a leak cause they wont know how to. You will have to call the city code inspectors to force them to fix it. Stay far away from here.. Trust me. They are LittleCheaper than most apartments in the area but you will definitely get what you pay for. Also the renovated apartments are not really renovated. Simple brown paint over old cabinets and cheap vinyl that was poorly installed. Clueless office staff that will never return your phone call but cowardly send emails even after you specifically told them not too. The bathrooms are a mess. The tiles keep falling out but they refuse to redo the bathrooms. They keep patching them in so the bathroom wall is uneven with tiles sticking out. Not worth the hassle for the $30 you will save. Dont do it. You will be sorry. Just keeping it 💯💯💯💯
Very satisfied. Though the problem was with the apartment below us, the origin of the problem came from our apartment. They came and fixed it quickly while we were at work and we haven’t had to deal with the problem since.
The worst apartment I have lived by far. I have lived in over a dozen apartments over the years, and nothing comes even close to this. There was a plumbing issue caused by the unit above us, and water spilled inside the wall, ruined the carpet and caused issues with the heater and with mold. Ruined the paint on the bathroom walls and the ceiling. Bottom line is, this issue has been ongoing for 2 months now, starting on May 26, 2017.Maintenance has been inside the apartment 8 times now, and it still isnt fixed. I believe managements goal here is to do as little as possible, hoping that I will go away. Well ... I will not go away. The reason is because there is still damage inside the apartment that needs to be fixed, and I dont want to be responsible for the damage when I move out. There is mold damage on the wall, and the door needs to be replaced. The carpet needs to be replaced as well, but they refuse to do that. It stinks inside the apartment because of the water issue with the carpet. Their solution was to call a carpet guy to bring in a machine to rid the water from the carpet, and the machine stayed in the apartment for 3 weeks because the carpet guy wouldnt show up to take it back. The manager has been inside the apartment and taken pictures, but nothing has been done. Now that the carpet is dry, the carpet is stained and needs cleaning - however, the carpet guy wouldnt clean it because it wasnt authorized by management, meaning he wouldnt get paid to clean the stains. Regardless, the carpet just stinks and it really needs to be replaced, but it appears that will not happen. Two months and 8 visits by maintenance, and the issue isnt fixed and they apparently have no intention of ever fixing it.Update, August 2017: After visiting the office about a garbage disposal problem, I reminded them once again of the carpet/mold/door. This time they did clean the carpets - three months after the original problem. The carpet still stinks, though. They promised again to fix the damaged door, but that hasnt happened.Update, November 2017: The electric box blew a fuse, and maintenance responded 3 days later. Maintenance asked about the damaged door, and said that they will be back with a replacement ... they never showed up. I wasnt expecting it - they rarely show up when they say they will. So, we are still waiting for the door to be replaced after almost 6 months. They never did fix the carpet either. I am guessing that none of this will be fixed by lease expiration.Update, January 2018: Reported a toilet issue to the office, and I reminded them about replacing the closet door. Maintenance showed up, fixed the toilet, and fixed the door as well! Well, they didnt really fix it - the door wasnt replaced, but they did paint over the water damage like I wouldnt know.Update, April 2018: Got a letter from the office that accused me of a lease violation. I canceled renters insurance at lease end and the insurance company notified the office. The office letter said it was the 2nd notice and I had 24 hours to respond. I did NOT receive a first notice (I did NOT). I am due to move out in less than a week, and it appears that they want to put me in lease violation days before I turn in the keys (which is probably why I didnt get a 1st notice - a grace period would end after I move out). The burden of proof was put on me (of course), and I gave them a copy of my insurance. Management did not apologize - just accuse, give me 24 hours, and then try to assess a hefty fine three days before I move out.Now I have a change of plans: I will be moving out two days earlier than planned, and will be staying at a hotel. Thats how eager I am to leave Hudson Commons. I hate it here that much.Signs are posted in the area that advertise rooms available for immediate occupancy. Many units in my building are now empty. I see moving vans every week lately, and it appears that the moving vans are all people who are moving out and few if any people are moving in.
We lived on first floor, during March and April, there are a lot thunderstorms and the floods come into the living room and bedroom. A part of the carpet is wet and its really hard to make it dry. Also, neighbors are loud, loud music at midnight. Before we moved out, we had a vacation, and when we came back, ANTS took our pantry. They came in from the wall crack!! Its so disgusting! Overall it was okay but not ideally.*When we told them that we are leaving 30 days before the lease ends, they told us that we should have informed them 60 days ago. Therefore, we had to pay 2 months EXTRA rent with 300 dollars EXTRA with the original rent!! Thats is crazy! They wont remind you to end your lease 60 days before coz thy are waiting for the extra money that you are going to pay!!!
These local guides have no idea what they are talking about and clearly are trying to get the rating up for this apartment complex. Have they lived here? Im assuming not so how would they know everything they are claiming?! Another red flag about this complex to me. They have to fake their reviews and still only have a 2.5 rating lolI lived at this apartment duplex for two years and have had 3 different management companies who were horrible. Never pick up the phone during office hours, no notices when doing things around the complex, rude, and the managers do not take any responsibility for any issues and always delegated the issues onto another coworker.Only come here if it is your last option!
They ran off the GOOD management right before the holidays, and now the place AND MANAGEMENT are a TOTAL JOKE! Good luck getting your packages, or walking down your stairs or sidewalk DAYS after an ice storm. This place went from charming to MISERABLE in mere weeks!
I was not pleased with Monaco Gardens. Lets start with the worst first. The worst part was when move out time came. I wrote down on my move in inspection that there were multiple stains on the carpet. When I turned in my notice, I told asked about the stains and they told me it wouldnt be a problem, since my inspection noted them. When I got back my deposit they charged me $355 for the carpets. They said that I had pet stains, even though I had no pets on the lease nor have I ever had a pet in my apartment. I also had a couch over the spot that they took the pictures of and you could clearly see the couch lines. I spent over two months trying to fight the charges and they kept insisting that I was in the wrong regardless of what my move in inspection indicated. They kept stating that I could come in and talk things over in the office. I dont live near the apartment anymore and I do not have much spare time on my hands. Either way I made time to come in, and they were of little help. They said they had no power to do anything, so my question is, why did I have to make time with my busy schedule to come in if you arent able to help me any better in person than over the phone?.. Now the other issues. I had a leak under the sink that I complained about three times which never got fixed. My dryer took hours to dry a handful of clothes (I know how to use a dryer and I also know better to not overload); which I complained about multiple times with no fix. I can complain about more, but everything else is minor and can be overlooked, because I know no place is perfect. Basically if they were to hire some good maintenance people, and not have inappropriately taken my deposit money, I would consider this place livable.
The worst leasing team ever. All the numbers on their website are fake. I cannot reach them by any means! They direct you into voice mail and never return your call.Whats the point of a polished website if everything is fake? It almost looks like a gigantic scam for your rental application fee!
I am counting down the days until my lease is up. I have been living here for about 9 months and it hasnt been a pleasant experience. There is a big problem with silverfish and no matter how much I spray or how much boric acid I put down, they just keep coming. Also the people upstairs are constantly thumping, banging, and stomping around and it wakes me up in the middle of the night. The couple upstairs walks their dog in the grass right in front of my apartment and they dont pick up after it. Their dog is also vicious and pulls at the leash and barks at everyone who walks past. The lease agreement claims that they meet the dogs and dont allow aggressive breeds but that is clearly a lie. Also just a couple of weeks ago, another upstairs neighbor decided to beat his girlfriend and chase her outside while yelling and screaming. The police were called and once again I was woken up by this commotion. If you are looking for a complex where the residents clean up after their pets, where there is peace and quiet, and where they dont allow violent thugs in, this is not the place for you.
Dont worry everyone they will be exposed. IAM working on it. Thanks everyone for your in put. IAM so glad I see the most recent reviews. Very useful Im still getting up more evidence. This is awful that we all going and went through with this company. Update everyone almost got everything in order working with civil rights active. Stay tuned may get the media involved. Alot of fraud with this company. I have good evidence.
Don’t move into apartment 415. You will regret it. Issa one bed apartment but the lady above keeps her nieces and nephews for weeks at a time you won’t get any sleep any time of night trust me. Ask for a different apartment unless you like wasting moneyDont live here. Moved in two weeks ago still cant use my master bathroom. Ive complained about my loud neighbor above me who cant control her children. Is it bad I want there feet to fall completely off. Also no lights in bedroom. ONLY ceiling fan is the dining room. NO not living room lol but there are no lights in there as well... No lights no where
Great location, but cant get anyone to do anything in regard to repair.
Great placement and nice enviroment, managed to fix my issue in a decent time and has been helpful with answering my questions whenever they come up
This place is absolutely terrible from the apartments, to community, to the employees. I have stayed here for roughly 4 months now and have been beyond displeased with everything! When I initially moved in the entire process was rushed, I was given my key and the leasing agent immediately left without doing a walk-thru of my new apartment, this drew an instant red flag. My apartment is nothing like what I was initially showed via the model apartment, the apartment wasnt move in ready and its baffling to me that they even rented out this apartment. When I first moved in I was asked to check off a checklist of things that needed to be prepared. It took them over a month to resolve my issues which consisted of replacing washer and drying that where out dated and not working properly, replaced refrigerator that was leaking, fix windows that where painted shut, fix leak in master bedroom, fix water pressure issue. One too many of things that shouldve been handle before I received my keys. As stated after a month of complaining and nagging about my issues they where handle but werent handled in the most professional way. For example once my washer, dryer and refrigerator were replaced the old appliances were left in front of my door for two days blocking traffic in and out of my home. Another example when the leak replaced in the master bathroom was replaced they had to cut a hole in my wall to replace a pipe, well once they cut the hole it was left uncover for a day or so which is extremely dangerous when I have a toddler crawling around! Seems like everyday i find another issues with my home and its just ridiculous. Ive complain several times and ive also requested to move to another apartment but my request have been ignored. Once i had my fiance take months rent to the office to pay and while she was up there she questioned the timeframe of some of issues being resolved. Well my fiance was told by the property manager that she is over exaggerating in a very rude manner. The service sucks in every aspect and the apartments are old fashion and not kept in good condition. Im in the process of sueing and Im confident I have a valid case and tons of evidence proving how unprofessional and incompetent the entire staff is!
This place is a freaking joke. Scum of the earth people. One of the buildings catch on fire and completely destroy 4 units and the office tells these people, who are now homeless, that they can break their lease with no fine and be out in less than a week or they can fill out new applications, pay new security deposits and “market price” which is $175 more than what they were paying before the fire. I just can’t believe after loosing everything this apartment complex is still trying to rob these people. It’s horrible and it’s discusting. These apartments weren’t worth the money we paid for them before the fire, let alone $175 more. JOKE.Ps. Gave it 1 star because they wouldn’t let me give zero.
If I could leave zero I would
Friendly office staff. When I asked to see the apartment we were actually moving into, the maintenance guy chimed in and said all of the apartments are the same. When it came around to moving day, the entire apartment smelled like smoke. The smoke was in the walls and we had to deal with smokey clothes and rooms for a year.
I have been here for about 6 months now and dreading another 6 more! Anyone know the lease breaking protocol and expense? When I moved in I was also told that I would be moving into an upgraded apartment and as the move-in date grew closer I kept calling to do a walk-through which I was kept being told the apartment was not ready yet Day of move-in was the first day I saw my apartment and I was completely disappointed as I had carpet and old appliances. The caulk in the bathroom was missing and my door looked like it was pried open by a crow bar at some point. Being that I had no place to go and I was assured that I was getting an upgraded apartment via email and word of mouth at the time i was at the office I was banking on this being my home. I proceeded to sign the lease allowing myself to suck it up for the next year. My walk through was very rushed as it seemed like the assistant manager wanted to just get it over with. After she left I did a thorough walk through, took pictures of what I found (food in the stove, stains on the carpet, missing caulk, screens to my windows broken and I had ketchup or chocolate smeared on the inside of the fridge. I took the pictures and emailed the property exclaiming my disappointment on these issues and received NO response. I didnt understand why they told me the apartment was not ready when I wanted to see it before I signed my lease when obviously it still was not ready when I moved in. After a few days, I noticed so many ants were coming into my room because the screens were gone. They were coming up the side of the brick and through the window. Its crazy that I cant even have my windows open to get fresh air into the apartment. Onwards to the bathroom, my toilet was also running after I flushed. It would go on and off again if I played with it and once I completely shut the water valve off would be when it stopped. I did eventually get my toilet fixed so that was a plus but maintenance is very lax with everything. My shower creeks every time you go in it and you can hear the people upstairs using the bathroom (not very pleasant) and taking a shower. You can also hear every little thing your neighbors do. My downstairs neighbor loves to watch her tv and my upstairs neighbor loves to have a bunch of people over - yikes. I have not complained ultimately because I just know that the walls are paper thin and it might not necessarily be their fault. When the complex does anything that involves getting into your apartment, they let you know the day of which is absurd in case you need to make accommodations. I remember back a few months ago they were paving the lots and if you didnt move your car you would have been towed. They did not tell us until the day of! I came home not realizing why I had to park on a completely different side of the complex... Lastly, just this past weekend i went away from thurs-Sun. I received a notice wed night they would be in the apartment to inspect the kitchens. No big deal but I had released bug bombs when I was gone due to the roaches, ants, etc. when I got home I saw that my light in the dining room was filled with old dirty water and I had a water stain on my ceiling and a water stain above the AC part coming from upstairs. I went to the office that Sunday and put in a work order due to water in electric and was told it would be the first priority. I called four times that Monday and eventually had to go in explaining my annoyance and how Now I will be late for work. (It was 12:30 at this point) I was rudely told they were there as we spoke and I went back to my apartment no one was there. A few minutes later a knock on my door and the maint. man just emptied the water-- I could have done that? He said he would check upstairs and come back when everything was dry to fix the ceiling damage but I have not heard anything and its been about a week. I do not feel safe using that lamp because it had at one point water running through it and the maint. man played it off as it was no big deal.It is not improving. Save your money.
Ms. Jessica Dortch is amazing!! She always takes pride in her residents comfortability and happiness.
I moved here from Buffalo, NY in 8/16. I communicated via email because it was a long distance relocation. I requested a first or second floor apartment due to the fact that I have multiple sclerosis. I communicated this need in writing with office staff. A few months later and apartment became available and was offered to me. I was told it was on the second floor. I found out when I came down here to get the keys and move in that my apartment was actually on the third floor. I had no choice but to take the apartment because there were no lower level apartments available. After about a month of living here I communicated to the office management thatI have having difficulty with the stairs due to my disability and was told I could transfer to a lower apartment when one became available and if I had medical documentation the $300 fee would be waived. My doctor from New York mailed me documentation verifying my condition and the office manager told me I needed to have a letter from a doctor down here, to make it more current. As if I may have been cured since I moved here.Ive also had numerous issues with the washer and dryer being broken, which took months to be repaired, and finally had to be replaced as it fell apart while I was using it. Faucet handles were not attached to the sink, and finally my furnace broke in November, December, and January. Maintenance does as much as they can with the limited resources they have. Management does not approve replacement of appliances readily nor do they care about the residents concerns unless you make a scene. Location is great though and the grounds are decent. New management just took over so maybe things will improve.10/2020 This is my 4th year here. I got a small dog in 2017 and immediately became aware of the numerous pit bulls in the complex. Cording to our lease they are a restricted breed. I complain to the office about this, because they were lunging at my dog. The leasing office did nothing. Fast forward to three years later, after complaining consistently for three years about these dogs, my dog and I were attacked in the parking lot by a pitbull who got loose from his owner. My dog by the way is a beagle. I was on the ground fighting this pit bull to keep him from killing my dog. NOW they decided to take action. The main offender in this complex, who happens to live behind me and owns a very vicious pitbull, immediately ordered a service dog certificate online and made his dog a service dog. To keep from getting evicted. Bottom line is if management have acted upon my complaint when I first notified them I would not be in the situation right now. Now I have to carry a billy club and a knife when I walk my beagle.
Unfortunately, I am still living here and cant wait to finish my lease ! Staff dont mind ignoring you with repairs in order to save maintenance money. I had to contact the Charlotte Code enforcement Authority to get them to fix 3 code violations in my apartment. The inspector informed me that it wasnt her first time going there for similar cases. I guess its just a matter of if you shut up about it, we save money and dont fix it. But if you contact the authorities, well do it fast to avoid repercussions. After that incident, i noticed that staff is very rude with me. Yesterday, I was at the pool with my wife. A staff member D approached me (while i was in the pool) claiming that the pool was closed and that she didnt know how i got in there! I can understand if one of the staff members forgot to put up a sign AND lock the pool door if i were to be approached with some common courtesy and a bit of manners explaining the situation ! But to be very rudely asked to Leave the pool is outrageous. Having a staff member talk to me while in the pool saying Im going to have to ask you to leave the pool is just ridiculous given that it was their fault for not having any signs and keeping the pool door open. At this point im not sure if i was asked to leave because of my race or if its just for spite! but either way, its outrageous. I explained to this young lady that there was no sign. She replied Yeah, well, im gonna see where that sign is, but the pool is closed and im going to have to ask you to leave. I took GPS time stamped photos of the pool door and the entry after i got out of the pool to prove that there was no signs and the door was opened. The strange thing is that, even after i got out, They did not put up any sign or even close the door. Which leads me to believe its just for spite or a race thing. Its a real shame to deal with such ignorance in the 21st century.
If I could give a minus 5 I would. They send out notices for major work AFTER the work has started. Since new management its been downhill....
Was looking to lease here.. the people who work in the leasing office are not welcoming at all, Ive been twice and spoke with two different ladies. They are very nonchalant & seem annoyed to help.. the first girl was occupied texting on her phone the whole time I was with her discussing an apartment. The 2nd lady had me out the office in 30 seconds running off possible future tenants.
My neighbor above me sounds like a heard of cattle. My apartment has water flowing in thru the sliding glass door and the front door. Water ran into my laundry room. I hsd to get a little ugly to get service, because it happened a week prior and maintenance said they were coming and never showed up. December cant come fast enough Im moving out.
My complaint is they have a contract with a towing company Im guessing. I moved into these apartments and a week later my car was towed. I know that its illegal to have expired plates however the government already has a penalty for that. Not sure why Landmark at Monaco Gardens would do this to their tenants.
They have changed management companies and this is the worst place to do business with. I will not renew my lease over here and I recommend no moving in at Hudson Commons!!!!
Love my apartment!
Honestly, im not sure where you guys are coming from because Ms Sherry has been the best leasing person Ive came across and Ive been looking all over the area.
Its a shame that reading all the comments here, coincide with the first impression we had with my husband when we visited this apartment complex, it´s the worst leasing team ever, so disappointed.
Nice location I liked working there
