I’ve lived there for two years and here are some of my pros and cons:Pros: Management is professional and maintenance was pretty quick to come and fix things. The people at the office are super sweet. It’s on the cheaper side and close to campus. The apartment is spacious (some bedrooms are bigger than others).Cons: it’s a bit dirty, trash is usually left around without being picked up. It got really bad around peak quarantine times. Our ice machine and dishwasher never worked. We would call maintenance multiple times to get it fixed but they still didn’t work. I could hear the train at night from where my apartment was. Gunshots were heard multiple nights as well. Two of my roommates’ cars were broken into. Neighbors can be loud but it’s a college apartment complex so that’s kind of expected. The gate would only work half the time. Also ridiculous charges when you move out.Overall, it’s alright
Ive lived here 12 days and have already been so disappointed. There have been two cases where my lease has been violated, and honestly the property is disgusting. Moved in to the fridge full of rotting food from the previous owner, nasty floors, my bedroom door is broken and wont shut due to what looks like a crowbar going to it, and maintenance loves to make surprise visits when youre not there and leave your front door open when youre not home. Let me note I have cats that couldve gotten out.. but they dont care. The security gate is left open during all hours of the night too! Overall, the only perk of living here is its affordable, and the distance to campus is super close + they have transportation to campus.*I will note that the front office ladies try their absolute best to be helpful and kind. Ive been so appreciative of their help and patience since move in, as they too see the quality of this complex.*
DONT LIVE HERE ROOMATES MAKE TO MUCH OF NOISE APARTMENT IS DIRTY DOSHWASHER DOESNT WORK
Honestly the only benefit about this student living is affordability and location. Other than that, I would not recommend this to my friends. For the required wait just to move in, it does make sense why the apartment was not cleaned thoroughly, appliances were still broken, and WiFi going in and out. But then considered “move-in ready”? Unacceptable. In addition, the living space is extremely small and out of date.
Ive lived at Uville for the past 2 years. The office has always answered my questions the best they can and for the price, it is very affordable for students compared to other apartments around campus. Especially because all the amenities are included. The size of the bedrooms and living space are more than enough for your university years. Some of the tenants are very rude and take their anger on management publicly but management is always professional with their responses.
I love living in this community its quiet and peaceful. The neighborhood is friendly and the staff is great. I am going on 3 years and its the best decision I made, they have Great rates at University Village. The inside of the homes is the best part.- L. Culler
Can’t really judge because I don’t live there yet but the sign up experience has been great. Easy process, friendly people. I’m excited to live in the townhouse style & we signed up because of the costomer service. They gave us a code to forgo the application fee & knocked $20 off our monthly rent because we all signed up together. I can’t say anything about the living conditions & safety yet but so my experience has been good. May update once I move in.
I am so excited to be living at university village this upcoming school year. The apartments are really pretty and it’s not that far from campus!
Overall its a fine place to live to be close to campus at an affordable rate. Safety is a big issue and management doesnt do anything to fix it.
The staff and maintenance crew work really hard to keep things nice around here. I wish the residents would be more respectful of the common areas (oftentimes people are too lazy to take their trash to the right places, etc.). Its not a bad place for the price, but I wish some of the appliances would be updated or the units would be cleaned more when people move out.
Great community, nice friendly office staff and maintenance people quick and fast. Nice town homes and rooms kind and friendly residents.
I love living here because of how affordable it is considering the amount of amenities made available to residents! We have a pool, gym, and tons of fun events that make it a lot more exciting to live in than most other apartment complexes!
Living here for a while. I can say this....The Gate is just for looks it will work only 50% of the year and when it does work people will just use the exit gate to sneak in. The security here is weak. The rooms aren’t bad but I believe there are better options in the area. The management doesn’t care about you they care about your money don’t fall for their tricks of renewing early bc you don’t save anything. If you want live here just make sure you have your concealed carry and you’ll be fine!
Affordable living. However, my car has been broken into and Ive been living here for less than 3 months. You will see a security cop drive through at night but theres no real security...
The community is wonderful the apartment needs better appliances for example: refrigerator, oven, washer & dryer, and dish washer needs to be updated.
Less than a year ago, I started my stay at UVille. Prompted by the opportunity of a gift card and excellence service by a leasing agent, I wrote a Google view praising the service mentioning the respective leasing agent. Now, I have a clearer view of Uville. I felt a need to return to give you my actual review of the property. FIRST - I have mixed reviews of the safety of the property. Throughout the year, the front gate would malfunction for extended periods. Coming home late from second shift, I was worried about those entering the community - not even those driving in but there was multiple reports of a peeping tom wandering the property. With that being said, I have to commend the office for having an additional security car roaming the property during a season of the extended malfunction.Next, I want to offset the complaint with a positive - this is one of the most cost efficient apartment complexes youll find near campus. An all inclusive rate for rent, utilities, and furnishings. Despite the struggle with the front gate, the apartment complex itself was filled with all the essentials and prompt emergency maintenance. After a power outage, I was able to reach a maintenance personnel to fix it nearing 8 to 9pm. Additionally, my lock jammed in the middle of the christmas season. Within the next business day, I was able to get someone to quickly change my lock.Overall, I would day - security is a concern. Prices are invaluable. Services for the most part is on par. The only set back I didnt take into consideration during COVID-19 is how essential recreation areas and balconies are. So, I would recommend having a bike or a good pair of running shoes when living here.
My boyfriend stays here and i have had multiple packages stolen or Misplaced by the leasing office staff that I had delivered to him. they almost never notify him the packages are delivered and one rep even stated he didnt have a packaged delivered as the packaged was sitting beside her at the front desk. so if the hassle of missing packages is what you like by all means this is the apartment
The community itself is really nice. The staff are wonderful people and I truly appreciate good people. As far as the space it is definitely smaller than imagine and definitely didnt match the pictures that were advertised online. I didnt like that I had to put up the shower rod I struggled putting it up and it was a hassle for me. Other than that Im pretty much ok with the living space.
Maintenance is super helpful, we have had issues here and there with the smoke alarms chirping, garbage disposals not working, etc and they are always helpful. I wish the gate would work more regularly to help me feel safer in the community at night time, but that would probably be my biggest complaint.
I have lived here for a while now while going to UNCC online these past two semesters. It’s quite nice, and I met some great people. It’s nicer than many other student housing places, with a few kinks you get used to. However I do have a problem with maintenance. They have a set of keys to your apartment and can come in when you aren’t there to fix a problem. It’s nice at times if you can’t be there but they never come at the time they say and they barge in, so you better hope you are dressed! They have routine walk ins that they don’t warn for when just a days notice would be enough notice. Otherwise I’m pleased with my experience and the office staff (that I believe is separate from maintenance) is great and are always a phone call away if needed. I’ve never had a problem trying to reach them. They are quick to respond to emails. Thumbs up to Eva, Victor, Alexis and Makana! They are usually there when I’m in the office! The gym is also really nice and available everyday but Sunday. They always have some sort of gift to residents in the office. They have made this covid experience not feel so isolating.
During my freshman year of college I had visited the complex and fell in love with it instantly. Wherever you go should feel like home the moment you step through the door & that’s how I felt. Fast forward to now and I still feel the same way, especially after my recent visit. The staff is very professional and always ready to answer any questions. It’s a plus that they’re polite as well.
Not worth the money. Once you sign your lease you have to stay or find someone to take it over. Would recommend looking elsewhere. It’s been a few days and I’m already looking forward to moving in July. Will not be renewing here.
Not comfortable here. The gate is always broken and has been broken for at least a month. Now there has been not just ONE but TWO break-ins in the two apartments below me. The complex hasn’t done anything about it but send out an email to notify us. If you want a perv looking through your windows you would love to live here! They do have big rooms.
Two of my friends tested positive for Covid-19 48 hours prior to moving out. University Village is willing to risk the lives of their families, and everyone they may need to come in contact with just to abide by their moving out schedule which is absolutely ridiculous. They’re putting countless people at risk instead of doing the right thing, and extending their leases for 2 weeks to assure not only their safety, but the people around them. The fact that this is even being talked out shows the lack of leadership and responsibility in the front office of University Village. Do better.
Great place near campus, shuttle service throughout the week. Internet is up to 5G which is what students need! I’m impressed by size of closet for all kinds of personal storage.
Today our air conditioning broke in our unit. Three requests to maintenance were submitted starting at 2pm. At 8pm a worker came and told us to open a window. When we protested he left and said he would be back. Fast forward 1.5 hrs later we return to the apartment to our personal fan propping open the window (without a screen mind you) as well as a old window ac unit that allows bugs and pests into the home. There are now bugs, two open windows and a thermostat at 82 degrees at 9pm at night. This is absolutely unacceptable. --- just found out the man that came out to fix the unit doesnt even work for University Village he was called in because no one here was answering.
Im really excited to live here. Ive heard great things about this place. The property is beautiful and the rooms are much more spacious than they are on campus. Plus University Village is close to campus. I picked the right place!
Excellent tour. Makana was an excellent guide as she showed the property. Very friendly and thorough. Was transparent in her answers with us. .
Worst place on the planet, they don’t even consider that there is a global pandemic happening !! I have got no response from the management as they said they would get back to me as I kindly asked them to extend my lease 4 days. I have tested positive for COVID-19 and need to finish my full 14 day quarantine before I step foot outside and they don’t care about my personal health and the health of others by not extending my lease because it’s only hurting the health of others! I do not recommend leasing from this place as they have terrible service and management, thank you!
I can not believe the management of this complex. My friend tested positive for corona and they refuse to communicate with him about his lease. We are in the middle of a global pandemic and they will not communicate with residents, they also show many red flags telling me the management simply only cares about getting their money and clearly have no regard for the people that live in their apartments. Because of the way multiple of my friends have been treated while living here, I will NEVER get an apartment or townhome here and will encourage other to do the same.
Every time I put in I put in a maintenance request, its always done in a timely manner. The employees are really nice too.
If having your car broken into, getting robbed at gunpoint, and zero customer service if you get stuck in a bad situation all sounds appealing to you then this place is definitely for you!
Idk what everyone is talking about. My experience there was great. Maintenance was always very helpful! I came in knowing that it was student housing so I didn’t expect a luxurious living experience but it was what I needed. I recommend to anyone!
I cannot recommend against this place strongly enough, mainly because I dont feel safe here.Summary of problems:- got my tires slashed- a series of horrendous roommates, one of which was a coke dealer- police are here ALL the time- neighbors and roommates loudly fight- gates (both pedestrian and for cars) are only for show and are never lockedFull story:Lived with a roommate who illegally subleased his room to a family of three that would fight, sometimes violently. They eventually got kicked out but then I got a new roommate who turned out to be a cocaine dealer. Sketchy people would show up to our house at all hours of the night. He would frequently fight with guests. When I complained to the management, they told me they couldnt do anything about it without revealing to my roommate that I had complained to them, which obviously I wasnt going to do because I was concerned for my safety. Instead, we arranged for me to transfer to another apartment. I settled in and at least felt safe, but then my new roommate got a dog and started beating it and then I didnt feel safe any more.Tenants are violent. Management is unwilling to take measures to enforce a better quality of life. Their response has always been to tell me that they cant do anything, instead of fixing the gate, installing cameras, and hiring actual security personnel. The office staff are always friendly, learn your name, and are willing to help with anything you might need. Unfortunately the living experience isnt nearly as good.
I felt as though they did not care about a personal situation of mine and I paid the highest rate out of four people. Lived there for almost 2 years and no one cared. It’s as enjoyable and I really wish circumstances could’ve been different. But I understand
UV is great. This is my first year living off campus and they made the transition from on campus to off campus easy. From the easy move in to now where they are constantly checking it and keeping us up to date on everything. They really cater to their residents being students by offering events, and amenities that we need and utilize and I’m excited to see what new things they have at the grand opening of the new clubhouse. The staff is great and they really make sure needs are their number one priority. All around a great place to live and just a 5-10 minute walk to campus.
I havent personally lived there, but Im currently watching as the staff completely ignores my friend who just got diagnosed with Covid-19 as he attempts to extend his lease for the sake of quarantine. When theres a global pandemic going on that could easily affect several of your residents, you answer the phone, and do what you can to help them keep others safe. The utter disregard for residents is astounding. And to top it off, its not like you need the room emptied, theres no way there are a bunch of people trying to move in right now. If this is how they treat their residents, Ill be sure to push my friends not to spend their money here.
To start of this apartment complex has extremely poor maintenance. And when complaints and service requests are put in, there is little to no help in regards to fixing any of the issues. My son has kindly requested the management to extend his stay for 4 more days as he’s tested positive for COVID-19. This is a very serious issue going on right now and it’s essential for him to quarantine for not only his own health but for the spread of it. He asked Gavin to move out the 29th instead of the 25th, which is only a couple of days after. This is one of the worst management I’ve ever had to deal with in which the people are not being accommodating at all during a global pandemic, and I will be pursuing action to rate this apartment complex the lowest I can including service and hospitality. Lastly, I’d like to mention the next tenants would not be moving into the apartment till mid to late August, so the concerns of rushing my ill son while he is finishing his quarantine is threatning and risking the lives and well being of others which would hold apartment complex as responsible.
I’ve lived here for the past 3 years and it’s been a wonderful experience. The front office staff and the maintenance crew are very friendly and are as helpful as they can be. The apartments are big and the rooms have tons of space. Having a furnished apartment really helped me save money from having to purchase a bed, couches, table, etc. The bathrooms are smaller, but everyone gets their own, so no sharing required. Another massive plus is having a washer/dryer unit in the apartment so you don’t have to leave to go do laundry. Access to UNCC Campus is provided by a Campus Shuttle from the Apartment Complex. If you’d prefer to drive, campus is only a short 3-4 minutes away. If you’re looking for a good quality college apartment at an affordable price, University Village is definitely worth looking into!
I have been calling for and rental verification and nothing has been DONE!!!! since last Thursday, Today is Tuesday . THEN I call this morning and speak to Nate ( always layed back, informative and very nice ) He is the Man . Nate Has it done in 10 minutes and back to my lender. Nate should be a manager if he is not already.
Spacious rooms and living room! Price is decent and helpful leasing agents.
I chose U Ville because all of the amenities, percs, and a friendly staff. The price was unbeatable for what we all wanted out of an apartment. I am super excited for the year and to watch my decision pay off for me!!
The customer service has been great so far and the quality of the staff and apartments is exceptional. I would highly recommend living here in uville.
The experience was simple and not complicated. A lot better than Haven
I like it here. I’m 23, I moved not having any idea who my roommates would be but we all get along well. Maintenance responds very quickly. Everyone in the office is helpful. I like the fact that we have a gate around the apartment complex
I choose UV because Ive had friends stay at UV and absolutely loved it. Everyone is so nice to work with and understanding!
The apt is so nice. You get a nice smart tv in the living room, a spacious kitchen, rooms and bathrooms. Not to mention the closet is pretty big too which is a plus. They also give free food to their residents. I recommend. :)
I chose to live here because I love how there isn’t a cap on water, electricity, etc. I also love that there is a homey feel to the place, a tv that comes along with the housing, the room sizes are great, and it’s very close to campus.
I chose to live in UVille because the facility seemed clean, the apartments are well furnished and theres a good amount of space in each apartment.
The tour was amazing, and what made this place stand out over others was the unlimited utilities, sizes of the room, and new security.
My tour guide was very friendly and was happy to answer any questions I had. No hidden fees. Great apartments.
Maintenance has done a great job at fixing things in a timely manner. My bedroom fan was making noise every time I turned it on so they replaced it for free.
Everyone that helped me during the application process were very friendly and got me through it smoothly.
University Village is great choice for off-campus students - bonus room, free parking, free printing and utilities are included!
I’ve lived here since August 2017. Any problem I’ve had have been fixed almost immediately so that’s nice. The staff are all friendly and helpful but my only complaint is that maintenance sometimes doesn’t knock and they just walk right in, which usually is fine but there have been times we’re getting dressed or something and they just walk in which is an invasion of privacy. Other than that University Village is nice and they give out a lot of cool/useful SWAG.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The apartments are super pretty and spacious.
I did not encounter any issues in my 2 years living at University Village. The staff was quick to help and the rooms were great size. My only complaint would be parking availability because getting a close spot was not always guaranteed. Otherwise, I had an enjoyable experience here!
Ive been a resident for the past school year and my experience has been great. The room sizes have plenty of space, the appliances nice and modern, and receiving packages is very simple. The office staff is amazing, my agent was Robert and he was a tremendous help in resigning my lease. Anyone looking for a good student living community should consider University Village.
Office staff are friendly and helpful, especially Josh. Townhome style are well equipped and spacious for a college apartment. New security company patrols the property regularly. New WiFi and cable provider are a huge improvement.
PARENTS BEWARE!! Do not sign a lease at this Community. My daughter renewed her lease without my permission and I called them immediately within minutes of receiving the email notification that it had been renewed and let them know that I did not agree to this and could not be a guarantor as our situation has changed. They will not cancel the lease and are holding me responsible even though the lease does not renew until August of 2019 and they have plenty of time to lease the apartment.
For the academic year of 2019-2020, I will be staying at UVille with one of my childhood friends and a current roommate from UNC Charlotte. We chose this space due to the open and modern floor plans provided on the property. Additionally, the no cap utilities plan. In the transition from on-campus to off-campus, it was important to me to be watchful of potential utility caps at varying off-campus properties. Fortunately, there is not one at UVille. With that being said, there is also that of a free parking pass. These logistic items with that of the current promotion of 16.00 off a month throughout the year or 200.00 upfront to decorate your space made UVille my number one choice off-campus. Feel free to take a tour as well with some of the kindness individuals. Victor was wonderful to work with as well as communicate with about the concerns and wants for my roommates and me for the next academic year.
After first moving in, I wasn’t too sure that this property would suit me well. I quickly learned that not only does it suit me well, I love it. The amenities are top notch, the accessibility to campus to is within a 5 minute drive, and the helpfulness of the clubhouse and leasing agents made my transition as easy as it could be. Definitely renewing!
Worst apartment complex do not move. Make up bogus charges after you move out.
Great staff and beautiful newly renovated apartments. Top floor apartments have high ceilings 😊 ! Always plenty visitor parking which is a plus. Matience has always fixed the issue within 24 hours. And short term lease available!
UVC is such a great place to live! The best thing is how helpful the staff is and they really worked with me when I had issues with my apartment. Compared to other apartment complexes in the area, they are one of best! I would definitely suggest people live here!
Decent apartments. The living room is pretty large. WiFi sucks. Appliances don’t work properly either.
Large size room, nice living area. The bathroom is a little small, and washer/dryer are so convenient! Love living here.-Demetrius Hill
I’ve lived here for nearly 2 years and haven’t really had any major issues. The gates been an issue but it typically gets resolved in a timely manner. The staff is very friendly and is happy to help me with any and all problems I’ve had!
I definitely recommend living here! Apartments are very nice and up to date, management is easy to work with, and its very close to campus. I wish the gym was bigger and wifi is decent but other than that I love it here.
This is my second year living at University Village and I really enjoy it. The pool is nice and the apartments are really spacious. I do wish the gym equipment would be updated as there are a lot of broken machines but overall I really like living here
First off-campus experience. I had the townhouse layout. I was surprised by the quality of the room, kitchen, and bathroom. The staff are lovely. Theyve responded to my maintenance requests within a few hours and fixed the issues.
Great environment. I definitely enjoy living here more than on campus; I have my own bathroom, close amenities, close to campus. There are downsides, but the overall experience is good!
They seemed to really care about me and my trying to move in fast they stayed in contact with me throughout the whole process. I’m very excited about moving in!!!!!
I currently live here now. This place actually sucks. You get noise complaints even if you don’t do anything. Maintenance is not their priority. They leave the gate open after someone gets shot. The WiFi is garbage and the overall experience I would describe as mediocre at best. M1 and all the other complexes are way nicer. Students don’t waste your time living here it’s a disaster
I don’t mind it here.
I did not choose to live with you guys again after I had a mice infestation so please do no lie in your response to my other review University Village 😂 Why would anyone do that. This place is MICE INFESTED DO NOT LIVE HERE
The rooms are a good size and the apartment feels like a home. The office is always very helpful, especially Josh. I would definitely recommend this over the competing apartments in the region.
I’ve lived here for going on three years now. Staff is great, especially the property manager Kylie. Community amenities are good and there are always event with free food. There’s always parking spots by your apartment. The upgrades really are an upgrade and I’m excited to see them. My only complaints would be the WiFi constantly goes out and is slow, so you’ll definitely need an Ethernet cable, the cable only has 40 channels that aren’t clear, and some of the equipment in the gym is broken.
I have lived here for over a year now and its been great! Great amenities and staff willing to help with whatever you need!
This place is a complete dump. WiFi doesn’t work, there’s trash and poop everywhere. Someone was shot and killed and they STILL leave the gate open and let anyone come in. From the moment i moved in to this place, i was counting down the days until I could move out. Do not live here if you want somewhere safe or even slightly nice. Concerning how someone died and nothing was done about it other than giving out wristbands to use the pool. Glad I’m moving out
Friendly service and very clean environment.
Can’t wait to live here! Super excited!
No parking lot cameras. The internet isn’t even on the map of one of the good ones. Literally no one I asked has heard of am3 til I show them their one page. And with my car broken into multiple times and no cameras around it’s not very safe. I lived here for 2 yrs so far and move out July 26th. Check that system again.
Everything is great so far. I absolutely love the apartment. The rooms are spacious and provides the privacy I could not find with living on campus.
Loved living here the last two years!
Very spacious rooms
I have really enjoyed living at University village so far this year. I like how attentive every single person that works at U Vill are when we need something. Beautiful apartments and never any problems with the community. Love living in U Vill!
This place is not a good area to stay in. Although they have a gate “gated community” it is not safe at all. They only have cameras at the clubhouse which is ridiculous with the amount of car break ins or crime in charlotte in general. They care about their clubhouse but not the residents that stay there. My sister’s car has been broken into twice and stolen the second time but they can’t even have cameras and she isn’t the only resident this has occurred with. Stay here with caution and stay safe/alert if you’re already trapped into a lease.
Ive enjoyed my stay at University Village so far. The apartments are nice and I love the amenities. The fact that the staff finds creative ways to do things for residents is really cool.
HORRIBLE!!!! MY FRIEND HAD A GUN HELD TO HER HEAD AS SHE WALK GROCERIES INTO HER APARTMENT. SHE WAS ROBBED AND THEY WOULDNT EVEN LET HER OUT OF HER LEASE, STATING THAT THE COMPLEX WAS COMPLETELY SAFE AND SHE IT BROUGHT IT UPON HER SELF. WHAT KIND STATEMENT IS THAT TO SAY ABOUT A LEASE HOLDER. DO NOT MOVE HERE. COMPLETELY UNSAFE, SHOOTINGS HAPPEN EVERY OTHER DAY. MANAGEMENT HAS TO DO BETTER, IT SUPPOSE TO BE A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS TO LIVE PEACEFULLY.
Great accommodations for students. They have a pool, free printing, a great workout facility and the apartments are modern and great quality!
No comments needed. You deserve to live in a better place. I promise. Noticed one of the maintenance guys buying beer at a gas station and later that day he came in fixing my sink and had a creepy conversation with me and my roommate. Very unprofessional. Obviously even they do not enjoy being here.
I have lived here 2 years and Love it ! the office is very friendly and always have free stuff for residence.
I moved here for my 2nd year in college and I had a great experience. Office staff is super friendly, grounds are well kept and the wing wednesdays are the best. Only thing is I wish the pool was open year round, but I just go to my friends pools off season. Only moving out next year because I am graduating.
It’s a great college living community the front desk is very friendly they all keep good care of you the apartments are very nice if you’re thinking about moving here you should totally do it.
I like the place. Most of the time I do not get a chance to attend the events because I be at work :-( :-) but I like the fact they try to work with you if having a problem with things if you let them know head of time about your problems. Cable Channels are not what is posted on the T.V Guide channel. Need a to do better with the Roommate Match up.
Very welcoming staff and flexible options.
I lived at this apartment complex my senior year at UNC Charlotte. I never had any problems but I was disturbed during move out. I was supposed to move out at noon but I was a little late moving out because I had so much stuff. As I was moving out, people were moving in behind me in my apartment. This tells me that they do not clean before people come and move in. Just to let you guys know.
To all the parents who are considering this for their college student-This complex is absolutely horrible. Their customer service is the worst i have seen. My daughter moved in almost a year ago and she has had nothing but maintenance complaints and safety issues. A few months ago there was a shooting in the complex my daughter witnessed the shooting and was terrified after the incident. She requested multiple times to move and they wouldn’t allow it. I asked them if we could buy out the lease and they also refused. They would not work with us at all. They had no concern for her safety or how we can solve the problem.
