I have stopped by the leasing office or toured this place 3 times in the last week. Daniel took me on 2 golf cart tours because I was so indecisive. Nya helped answer a buncha silly question. While I ultimately picked a different complex I had a great experience with the leasing office. I would have picked this place but all the good units get picked fast! Maybe next year.

Very knowledgeable of the place and the area and we will be staying here when we move. She went the extra mile to show us everything and was very honest. I moved into the Village back in July and I love it so far. Today, the kindness of the staff at the concierge made me love it even more. When picking up a package, my cars clutch got stuck and I was unable to pull my car completely into the parking spot. I walked in and I told Sabrina and Andrew at the concierge desk that I needed help pushing my car into a parking spot so that it would not block the road. They did not even hesitate! They walked right outside in this 95 degree weather and pushed my car while I steered it into the spot. I am extremely grateful to them!

I just wanted to say that the maintenance staff here is SO friendly and readily available! There’s always some one around to help - today it was Alex who found me in the parking lot with a dead car battery. Within 5 minutes, I was up and running! I’ve also mentioned messes in the hallway or stairwell to other repairmen in the past and they were always handled immediately! I really appreciate them, the cleaning crew, and Mark - the barista!

I lived at The Village for a year a half and was continuously underwhelmed by their customer service. The apartments are nice but lack maintenance. Constructions was completed over a year ago and theres still dust, clay soil stains, and debris.During the pandemic, office staff did not wear masks or enforce occupancy limits in their facilities. When I reached out to the office about my concern, I didnt receive a response. I even forwarded the email to corporate and they didnt seem to care for their residents health and safety either. If you like quiet and dont care for a bro atmosphere. I would definitely not recommend these apartments. They are overpriced for what its offered.

I am extremely disappointed with the management/front office staff. I’ve been living here since August of 2020 & the original staff was amazing. After my tour, I was ready to sign up that day. The concierge and maintenance is amazing. No complaints there and always friendly. Not sure what has happened as of late but the office is terrible. I can never get in touch with anyone by email. When I go to the office I’m met with some lady who has the WORST attitude and is not helpful at all. They never reply back to emails. On the phone I continue to get different responses. I’ve been trying to get lease break options since April as I’ve purchased a home & no longer living there - but still paying rent. According to their staff it’s against corporate policy to offer any lease break or transfer options. Everyone that I have consulted with on this has said that is a lie & there always ways (sometimes with a fee) to get out of your lease. As of two to three days ago I emailed them to put in my 60 day notice so that they are able to advertise this apartment for availability and nothing, no reply. I had someone apply as a “roommate” which they said was my only option, they charged $100 to apply - only to deny her (they gave her a regular application instead of the occupancy app) and then the next day send her log in information to MY PORTAL as if she had been approved. I have all of the evidence. I called and they said she shouldn’t have received that. Now she has access to my personal lease information and payment info from a mistake that YOU made and nobody is doing anything about it.I am sick of dealing with this. I have no choice but to seek legal counsel regarding this. My lease is ending Nov 2021 and I refuse to continue to fight with this office until then.

This place is overpriced and VERY poorly managed since Phase II opened. We pay over $3,000 a month for a 3bdrm, and inquiries, questions and repair requests go completely ignored. Even the simplest questions and requests can’t be addressed without numerous attempts. Maintenance men walk in unannounced all of the time despite numerous requests to text first to make sure we are not on important work calls or getting out of the shower. I was so excited to give up the responsibility of home ownership and enjoy this place, but I can’t wait to move out. The leasing office has plenty of time to plan social events and create advertising videos, but they could care less about the paying tenants they have. It’s super corporate and all they care about is making money.

As all recent reviews have stated: the current management is the #1 issue with this apartment complex! I wish I could give less than 1 star for this place. Management is extremely unhelpful, hard to speak to, and seem to start more issues than they care to resolve. Ive lived here for over 4 years and have seen the original management go from helpful and friendly to just absolutely disturbing and VERY hard to deal with, as other residents have expressed (especially with the newest management team of April 2021). Good luck trying to get maintenance to get anything done! Still waiting two months later for a simple fix (as is the same for other residents). You will not get anywhere with Ginette (of which others have stated their issues with her ignorance and lack of care). She is extremely unhelpful and will not do anything reasonable to help a resident. This place was good prior to the new management. Now, as others have been saying, after you sign a lease youre sure to be confused and ignored.

The village of Commonwealth is by far one of the best apartment complexes in Charlotte. I looked at multiple other new apartments, and nothing comes close to the amenities and the well appointed interior designs of the apartments themselves. I originally toured the property in late June, and waited six or seven weeks for an apartment in phase 2 to be ready. Edith Mellado was in touch with me the whole time and was there to answer all of my questions and concerns. I did have a few hiccups along the way, but Edith made sure that everything was addressed. The construction is a bit of an inconvenience, and it is challenging to get packages delivered due to the new street and building itself, but it’s going to be well worth it once it’s done. The property is going to be a show place, and far exceed anything else that you’ll find within such close proximity to downtown. All of the restaurants, bars, and breweries are within walking distance. This place has so much to offer. The landscaping is beautiful, and they’re in the process of building our volleyball courts and a beer garden that will be right next to Veteran Park.

My husband and I hate it here! The leasing department never picks up phone calls or answer emails so good luck on contacting them. The pool is always crowded with people that dont even live here! Parking is horrible, as a resident you’ll have to park on the side where guest park just to walk 10 mins away from your apartment. The apartments are made of cheap material and everything breaks but they charge you $1000’s of dollars to rent them. They’ll fine you for every little thing and owners here walk their dogs without leases..

Great physical apartment, beyond terrible customer service. This is the typical corporate apartment complex that doesnt care about their current tenured residents, only new. I have lived in Village going on 6 years. Its a great apartment in the sense that it has good amenities, its in Plaza and the phase 1 apartments are a good size. You cannot get ahold of anyone in the leasing office. They do not post their email addresses on the website or internal portal- you have to email a general inbox. After 4 follow ups I went into the office and asked to speak with the manager. She was OOO for a week. I confirmed that I was emailing the correct email address, which I was but admittedly, emails tend to get lost.I explained that I was hoping to sign my lease renewal for yet another year. They have increased my rent every single year and I was asking if there was any consideration in keeping the renewal rate unchanged for this year. The guy in the office responds this is the question we get the most and the answer is consistently no. Well obviously everyone wants their rent to stay the same, but there was no let me run that by my manager/corporate/whoever, just yea we get that question a lot. I asked if there was a leasing manager I could speak with and he responds Why? Are you looking for a different answer?.A current residents lease is expiring and they are moving in with me. To get them added to my lease (now that theirs is ending) and able to keep the amenities access and get their key fob updated to my apartment (a flip of a button), they have to re-apply and pay an additional $100. This also furthers the point that they do not care about current residents. If you move here, just keep in mind that once you are a resident, good luck with the staff. The Concierge is great, the maintenance staff is great. The issue is with the leasing staff. Also, make sure you move into phase 1. They built phase 2 so quickly that the quality is abysmal. The floorboards dont stay down, the doorknobs constantly break, there are no screens in the windows (and yes they open all the way), you dont know whether your apartment has a balcony or not until you move in, etc.

We moved in 4 months ago and everything is great except the Leasing Office. They are unresponsive, lack initiative, and down right horrible customer service representatives. I constantly had to reach out to get answers to questions and information that was promised. Ultimately, the best way to get anything done was just to pin someone down at the leasing office. Our move-in was rushed and executed in a week, so at first I thought this was just a one-off issue. However, 3 months later we have a billing issue. (Background: we have 3 tenants that share this apartment as we travel frequently and for stints of time. We coordinate payments and have had no issues for the last 2 years.) The leasing office misapplied a rent payment from another tenant to our account on 7/1. This occurs over July 4th week, and it just so happened that our crew did not coordinate payments. So, one of our tenants checks the account on 7/4, sees a balance, assumes we paid our portion, pays it off, and our account has a $0 balance. On 7/5 the leasing office realizes their mistake, corrects the account, and sends us an email. I see this on 7/6 after settling back in from travel, and immediately pay the balance net the late fee. I call the office to see what happened, explain our side, and get the late fee removed. In my mind, the leasing office made an error, we made an error, and we know better next time. However, Ginette the leasing manager specifically told me 1) we should have know something was amiss 2) we should have called and notified them 3) we had plenty of time to pay on the 5th since they sent the email in the morning 4) there is nothing they can do because it is policy. Ginette held to policy over customer care, took no responsibility for their error, nor ever apologized. This was my first phone call, as we only received a email from a general account when they caught the issue. I directly told Ginette I would like to speak to the person in upper management responsible for this decision, as I believe they are incorrectly applying policy as our account was technically $0 before they made changes. She promised a follow up in the next day. Three days later after hearing nothing, I call and was informed that the manager was just getting back in the office, acknowledged receiving the request, and would respond next week. A week later, still silence, I stop by the office to get an update since I walked to get the mail. Ginette informs me she is still waiting. Two weeks later, still silence, I receive a generic email from NWR (property management firm) for the past due balance. I email a reply copying Ginette, explain the situation and that I am still awaiting communication from NWR to discuss the matter, and request contact. A week later, still silence. I go to pay our 8/1 bill, however it is incorrect, so I place a call to Ginette. She of course cant answer because she is in a meeting, so I leave a message with the leasing staff. I receive the first and only contact back through this entire process. In which, Ginette emails me and says we have one option: 1-time courtesy waiver allowed to each resident per year. Listen its only a $90 fee, and at this point its just the principle of the matter. I want them to demand the same expectations of themselves that they do of their contractual relationships. I want them to take ownership of their mistake. Village at Commonwealth and Northwood Ravin do not value building relationships and customer retention. Lets just say we were considering upgrading our apartment, but will not. We will not renew our lease, and I will not recommend anyone to this apartment complex.

While the amenities are awesome, the leasing office/management could care less about their residents. Me, as well as other residents I have spoken to, have had multiple problems not only with the quality of the units but the management company and leasing office as well. First, they advertise as “luxury” living nothing about the interior of the apartments is luxury. Yes they are nice but we moved into a brand new unit that no previous residents lived in before, and they’re has been multiple problems. You can tell that the unit was put together hastily and in a poor, low quality manner (ex. water damage, crossed water lines, broken tiles in the bathroom, dents in walls and baseboards). Every time we go up to the leasing office (bc for some reason it’s impossible to get them to answer the phone) they are rude and act like their residents are an inconvenience and resident satisfaction is not a priority.

Now I am being told I cannot get my application fee refunded even though the only reason I applied was because of the information I was given, which turned out to be a lie. The experience has been awful, and the Leasing manager should not be in a management position. They were extremely rude and argumentative and did not have one ounce of empathy. I have contacted the management company Northwood Ravin and have not heard anything back from anyone there either. So, highly recommend you take your hard earned money elsewhere.

Do not move here if you like money. This is one of the most expensive apartment complexes located in Charlotte and it’s not even all that great. When we first moved here it was great, management was awesome, and events hosted by the Village were somewhat decent (let’s just say you felt like you got your money’s worth)Overtime though things started to depreciate.Events became cheap and less generous, the barista always seem to get the coffee wrong, the grass and sidewalk is overflowing with dog poop, and management just became lazy. Not to mention if your trash is not in the bin you will receive a $25 fine for each additional bag on top of the $35 you already pay for that service. It’s quite hilarious to me considering the fact the Village of Commonwealths dog bin is filled to the top with dog feces, but they want to fine the residents for a service they already pay for. Again as I mentioned early this place is not all rainbows and butterflies you live in a bubble where people come from all around the neighborhood and steal things such as bikes and break into cars. Oh yeah the best part is too that even though they have cameras inside the garage and on the corner of the buildings the Village at commonwealth will never show you or the cops. They don’t care about a thing accept for the trash bin being left outside your door.

Living at Village at Commonwealth has been a very stressful, tiring and emotional experience for numerous reasons. One thing you will probably experience (because I know at least 5 residents who had the same recurring issue) is your floor slats coming up. I have had to go through the process 3 times and I have never been compensated or provided any sort of apology for these major inconveniences. To make matters worse, this most recent time when the apartment floor repairmen went to fix my floors YET AGAIN, they left A LOT of damage done to my apartment. They damaged my furniture, left big black marks on my walls, left floor glue on my carpet, took chunks out of my wall and left all my furniture out in the open in the hallway (while they were repairing) with nobody monitoring my furniture or guarding it for multiple hours. I reached out to the leasing office and they still havent responded unfortunately. Here are some pictures of the destruction left to my apartment.

I moved in a few days ago and I feel like I’mAt a luxury resort. The village at commonwealth is absolutely beautiful. The apartments are very spacious and well designed. The amenities are amazing. I got to experience my first food truck Friday and it was delicious. Also ask for Brooke if you are looking to rent. She is awesome and will definitely take care of you!

The Village at Commonwealth offers everything you could possibly want. Management has clearly set up a system that caters to the individual needs of each resident. Getting questions answered, or getting help after hours is made very easy and convenient through the 24-hour concierge service. The leasing process was extremely efficient and easy. Marisa Spezza was so helpful and went above and beyond to make me feel personally cared for. I couldnt make it in for a walkthrough immediately so Marisa even filmed and sent me a video tour of the specific unit I was interested in. This went a long way in personalizing my experience and making me feel valued; even before I was a resident!Ive lived here for one full week now and Im absolutely in love with the complex and community! The amenities are unbeatable, neighbors are very friendly, and whether leasing agents, concierge, or maintenance, all the staff here are incredibly helpful and willing to spend time to get you exactly what you need. By far the best complex Ive toured or lived in!

I only took a tour of The Village At Commonwealth, and fell in love with all of the amazing amenities offered, the stylish layouts, and the staff. Ultimately, I decided to move out of state; however, if I would be staying in the Charlotte area, my next home would have been The Village at Commonwealth. No other place that I toured even came close to all that this place offered. A big thanks again to Kara for the tour and for being so kind to me.

Living here at commonwealth is a very nice experience. The tenets as well as staff have been great. I like to share an example, Aaron and Sabrina who are staff members. Aaron and Sabrina helped move my sofa to my apt. I explained that l’m have a disability l can’t lift heavy objects due to lower back and left knee surgery. They made away and helped me out.

Village at Commonwealth, oh the times weve had. Upon moving to Charlotte, I found myself lost and alone, living in the desolate wasteland called South Park. Shunned by society, I sought refuge in a place where I truly felt like I belonged. I wandered aimlessly; NODA, South End, Uptown, none of them providing the comfort I desired. Then as the sun rose on the fortnight there it was in the distance, silhouetted by rays of golden light. THE VILLAGE AT COMMONWEALTH. I knew right then and there that this shall be where I call home, this shall be my resting place.*One year later* As I awakened to an email asking if I wished to continue to call this marvelous place my home, I was made an offer I could not refuse and immediately resigned my lease. For my time here has been an unforgettable one, and I know that the memories of this place will only continue to grow through the upcoming year. Management has always been attentive, personable, and enjoyable to be around. You could say that were on a first name basis, and thats the honest truth! They know everyone that lives in this complex by their name, and constantly ask how I am upon every encounter. Amenities are the best that you shall find in the area called Plaza Midwood, and for the price its a place that simply cannot be beat!So heed my words fellow apartment lookers, and give The Village at Commonwealth a fair chance. I guarantee you will not be disappointed! The amenities, social events, staff, and fellow apartment residents are all super friendly and welcoming. Join me and embrace the gorgeous views of Veterans Park as my balcony neighbor, Ill have a cold one waiting for ya :)

Dont fall for all the amenities and nice finishes. One thing after another something wrong happens. What set my experience over the edge, after living here for 8 or so months, was that I booked a guest suite for my two older female family members, who drove 8 hours to visit. They gave them a guest suite with almost floor to ceiling windows with no blinds. From the outside you can see right into the room with direct access to the beds (I can see into it from my apartment). We voiced our complaints to concierge and they directed us to leasing. When I spoke to leasing they basically did not care and refused to do anything about the situation. 1. They said having no blinds was INTENTIONAL 2. bragged about how so many people wanted to book suites 3. said that all the other rooms didnt have blinds (this is not true based on looking at the outside of the building) 4. Said that there were no other rooms (I guarantee that they did not check on this)... At least they said that they would refund us, but well see... my family members now have to find a new place to stay after their long trip because they dont feel comfortable staying in a room WHERE STRANGERS CAN WATCH YOU SLEEP/UNDRESS. Would you want someone watching you while you sleep/undress? Is this how youd want your family members, especially female family members, treated? Id think again about living here and renting a guest room. They didnt even supply the guest room with toilet paper lol.

I can not believe how amazing this place is!! One of my friends recommended living at the village at commonwealth (she is a current resident there) and has been raving about it due to its prime location and all of the amenities that they offer. The customer service was by far one of the most impressive things about this place (aside from how beautiful all the apartments are). Alexis was SO HELPFUL and I’m really happy that she was so willing to take the time to review potential options with me based on what was most important to me between the various models this place offers. Alexis made sure to review all the options that fit with what I was asking for and she was incredibly patient with all of my questions. She was very knowledgeable about every single unit that I had questions about and she was very personable throughout our discussion. She was so helpful that I was able to complete the entire application process AND even got approved all within a timeframe of less than 2 hours! This was such a great first experience with this property that I have been recommending it many of my friends who are also looking to move to Charlotte, NC. Based on my encounter with Alexis, I am confident that this organization has highly qualified employees that can help anyone figure out the best apartment for them. She even helped me decide on other flexible options this place offers such as length of time for leasing options and how to go about requesting changes if I do end up wanting to extend my lease at a later time. All I can say is wow. I’m so excited to begin my lease at the Village at Commonwealth and start my new life!!!

The price you pay to live in this neighborhood is unbeatable. I recently relocated from Atlanta and I must say I’m living like a king now 😂😂. I enjoy the community because it’s quiet, there are always events, and the staff is friendly/responsive. This is my first time living in an apartment style community as I’ve always either had a loft or rental house. 6/1/2020 will be 1 full month living here and I think I made a great decision on choosing The Village at Commonwealth. Once social distancing subsides I definitely plan on taking full advantage of the CrossFit gym because that’s what really attracted me to this place.

The whole moving in process and the customer service I received was by far the easiest and best I have ever had. Jenna made everything so simple. First impression and tour was great. However, long story short - we were promised a refund almost ONE YEAR(!!!) ago and still have not received anything. We have been in contact with the Assistant Community Manager during this time, who is replying very slowly (sometimes it takes weeks) and does not seem to have any interest in getting this done sooner. Very annoyed and disappointed.. to me the service is not acceptable if it takes a year to send out a check.

LEASE WITH BROOKE! If you want to experience great customer service, unmatched attention to detail, and someone who actually cares about your needs, versus just “leasing” you an apartment...ask for Brooke, the Property Manager when you visit! The property is spotless and neat! Additionally, everyone greeted us with enthusiasm upon entering. Which is a plus for us! You won’t be disappointed! Great job, Commonwealth!

The Village at Commonwealth is a 5-star community! Everything from the friendly staff, to the frequent resident events, top-of-the-line amenities, and the walkability to bars and restaurants in Plaza, its an amazing place to live! Jenna Tuck was so helpful during the leasing process and is a big reason why I signed at the Village at Commonwealth! I was unable to tour the units in person so she sent personal videos of the spaces to ease my decision making! The lease process was easy and seamless. The community manager, Megan, is also always responsive and present around the community smiling and waving and lending a helping hand where she can! :)

The Village at Commonwealth is a beautiful property with the best amenities weve seen in Charlotte. We just signed a lease and Tyler was the Leasing Consultant we had the pleasure of working with. Tyler never pressured us to make a decision. Thanks, Tyler!
