Marchelle & Madison are the bomb.com. They are very friendly, professional and willing to help anyone. I love living in this community. Its clean, quiet and very affordable. If you need somewhere to live, stop by and tell them I sent you. You will not be disappointed.
Very unprofessional!!Management has no regards for their tenants.Bugs everywhere. Old appliances.Do not waste your time or money. You will regret it.If i could give 0 stars i would. Horrible experience.Weed smell through hallways & dogs are always on the loose.
I’m so glad I decided to move here! Latoya makes me feel so welcomed. I definitely made the right choice. The maintenance team shows urgency and my apartment is amazing 😍 period
Madison and LaToya is very helpful LaToya always has big smiles when she helps me I like The District.
New resident here and so far I love it, the leasing teams has been amazing through the leasing and check in process. I favor prompt response and professionalism and all the ladies on the leasing team have been very welcoming, professional and answers all my questions.I love that I’m on a top level tucked away, the amenities are nice. Can’t wait to see what the community has to offer in the coming weeks.
Beautiful property and amenities! I toured The District and absolutely loved it. Property grounds are very well kept, and very pet friendly. Staff was pleasant and very well informed. Definitely a consideration once my lease is up.
I promise you dont want to live here! Its ghetto and unsafe. Neighbors are loud. People speed when coming into the apartments. It reeks of weed and people break into cars and nothing gets done about it. Dont waste your money! Rent is $1300 and it is not worth it. There is no safety here. Save your money and find a safe community :).
The District is a trendy fast forward community that has been eager to serve. Move in was easy and quick. Latoya, an agent with The District has been my main contact person. She has been professional and friendly displaying TOP NOTCH customer service.
The staff is friendly, efficient, persistent, and caring. I had a wonderful experience with them, and the process was easy and quick. The property is beautiful, clean, and close to a ton of great restaurants, shopping centers, and things to do. I highly recommend this place.
This is a great place to live. My move in was quick and fast. The staff is really great. This is Kiman. My kids love coming over, my family and friends love it over here. The district is really clean. I dread going to work in the morning because I don’t want to get out of bed it is so comfortable here lol!!! Marchelle is everything she gives me life lol!!!!
Ive recently moved into the district apartment homes and I must say Im very impressed with the apartment space and the layout. Staff extremely friendly. Very clean nice place centrally located in the middle of everything
I am originally from North Carolina, but I recently moved to the Charlotte area from a different state. The process wasn’t super straight forward with getting approved but the ladies in the office were very efficient with answering calls, my emails, and providing me with all the requirements that I would need in order to be approved. My specific contact was La’Toya and she was super transparent. Once I got to Charlotte I picked up my keys at 9:00am on the dot, signed paperwork, and everything was spotless in the apartment ready for me to move in immediately. I am currently learning the monthly rent payment system as well as learning the package pick up system but so far things are going smooth. The area is calm and mimics a working professional type of complex. I look forward to nothing but good things from this complex going into the Summer and future months. Huge thanks again to Toya and The District Apartment Staff on my very first apartment. 🎉
I most recently moved into The District and they have been very helpful especially Toya Harris with accommodations for my arrival. Overall nice play and quiet neighborhood. Your also surrounded by everything which is a plus.
I recently moved in, but I absolutely love this complex thus far. I was drawn in by positive reviews I personally I received from previous residents. It has been extremely peaceful, and Dee was exceptional to work with during the move-in process. With COVID happening, the system utilized for in-person touring was comforting as well. My parents have also praised this complex for the interior design, and overall feeling of community when they visited. I’m looking forward to getting to fully enjoy what the complex has to offer.
I moved into the district in April of 2020. I have no complaints. Maintenance has made my stay here a pleasure so far. Henry and is staff always respond to any issues I may have ASAP and the issue is always resolved in a timely manner. Henry and his staff have great work ethic, are very friendly and always showing my dog love!
I move into the complex a week ago and so far everything is great. During the move in, I noticed my Ice maker and freezer door handle was broken but it was fixed the very next day! Dee was amazing during the process and she made everything easy. So far I love it and hopefully positive things continue
My friend and I drove past the District and seen how beautiful the apartments are. I cant wait to set up an appointment to check out the inside of the apartments.
Great management and staff! They do an amazing job keeping the grounds clean in this safe community.
I just recently moved into this complex and have had a positive experience so far. The leasing staff is very friendly and helped with any questions I had prior to my move. Since I moved in, I had a couple small issues I needed maintenance for and each time they had the issue resolved within 24 hours. Specifically, Henry on the maintenance team was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to teach me a little something about stoves while fixing one of my issues. Overall, I am happy with my decision to lease here.
Honestly I’m so upset about how things are starting off here and I only been here a week. Let me start by saying, I love my apartment. It’s absolutely gorgeous and literally checks off everything on my list on what I wanted in an apartment. Second, Madison was a great help with move in and also a sweet individual. Third location. You really can’t beat it. You are by EVERYTHING. That’s actually one of my favorite points. But from there is where it goes downhill. My experience has started off shaky to say the least. I moved in on a Thursday. On Friday I called and asked for the internet box in the home to be opened up because I work from home and I needed to be hardwired in. I was told someone would come in fifteen minutes to do it....no one came. Okay called Saturday, then I was told a service request would need to be placed in. That caught me off guard because I was just told the day before it was a simple task and someone would be right out to do it. So I said okay. I call Sunday now I’m getting kind of worried because I have to work the next day and I have to be sure that I’m all set up and ready to go. No maintenance people are there Sundays so I had to wait until Monday. A guy comes out Monday morning but just as I suspected would happen, I can’t log on. So I miss work Monday and half of my shift Tuesday. The way I was sold on how the internet works, I was told that it would just be a simple plug in my Ethernet cord and it starts working. Well it wasn’t that simple for me. When it’s time to go pick up my cable boxes from Spectrum, I get there and I’m told the account is still in the previous tenants name and that I would need my lease to get the boxes. Something else not disclosed. Thankfully I was able to pull up my email and Spectrum accepted the welcome home letter as a substitute for a copy of my lease since I wasn’t able to log in and pull it up from the resident portal. Finally and this here took me over the edge. I’m working and I notice a few ants in the window. I just chalked it up to it being a little warmer the past couple of days and killed them with my hand. Then the next day I’m in the kitchen ANTS all on the floor. I’m frantic. I NEVER had an issue with bugs at my previous apartment in the three years that I lived there never. I didn’t have any bug spray so I’m grabbing the closest to it bleach. Although I Iove my apartment and would probably still recommend them, this experience hasn’t started off so great
Been at the district for a while now and the staff is exceptional. They are really resourceful and helped me with any concerns I had. The manager Ms. Washington helped me personally and guided me with moving into a new apartment and I love it.
My experience so far has been great! I find comfort with my choice of living, including outside space and living area. Quite area, concerns are usually addressed immediately and handled correctly.
The District was a reasonable place to say. Great location to live in with easy access to both 485 and I-77. There is a mall right across the street, along with various restaurants and stores to shop at within a 5 min radius. The parking can be better because they do Tow at night if you don’t have a pass. However, they are willing to give overnight pass to guest so make sure you get one if you have someone staying over. Overall, it’s a great place to stay for an affordable price and would recommend it. I just happen to move out cause my lease ended and wanted to move in a house or else I would of stayed.
I am fairly new to this complex, but have nothing but great reviews regarding everything. Although COVID has affected some of the amenities, the office staff is incredible and maintenance is so quick to fix any issues. Love this place so far, and the renovations are exquisite. :)
The District Apartments is a great place to live. Leasing Staff and maintenance staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and always complete my maintenance request quickly. Location is easy access to family and work.. Beautiful pool and gym.
Henry and his team are the best maintance team I’ve ever seen before. They are always going above and beyond to help me with every need I may have. Awesome quality service and amazing people skills, we definitely need him and his team around!!
Ive been living at The District for a year and a half, all I can say is this the best apartment complex Ive ever lived in. The leasing office staff(Marselle, Dee and Madison) are wonderful, the go above and beyond to meet your need and they make you feel welcome and right at home. Henry and his maintenance staff are amazing, they always get the job done no matter what. The amenities are great and the location is perfect. Across the street from Northlake Mall, minutes away from interstate 77 and 485, 10mins away from Uptown Charlotte and im 2mins away from my job. I love to call The District my home because thats exactly what it feels like
Great community and location is prime. Office staff is wonderful and always helpful and maintenance is always prompt.
Love The District! The staff in the office is always available to help if needed and maintenance is always taken care of quickly and professionally. I am happy to call The District home.
Great location and close to everything. Amenities are great and leasing office staff is always helpful.
My cousin has lived on the property for about 4-5 years! When the new company took over she was excited however she has run into problems! They even offered a great renewal but the amount offer didn’t match the rate & when she called they said no she has to pay the higher rate. Years of loyalty but if you ask me this community DOES NOT care about the residents it’s just a business honestly! It doesn’t feel like home anymore to my cousin so I can’t refer it to anyone else! There are better apartments & rates in the area though!
I have lived here for many years now, and the apartments have recently been remodeled. I absolutely love it. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Maintenance is very fast anytime I have needed anything fixed. I love that the staff is always doing things for our little community. I truly am honored to call this place home.
My husband and I moved here in of August of this year and it has been a great experiance. Latoya and her staff are super friendly, very knowledgeable and get you any help/answers you need right away. They recently just upgraded the apartment and it is beautiful and very spacious. The grounds on the apartment are also well kept and clean. The clubhouse is also very nice they have a great gym, cycling area they have a pool table. The pool area is very nice just a very nice, quiet, safe community. We are so happy that we moved here as our last experience was not that great.
Henry the best maintenance supervisor! Management, if you want to make this a better community, please keep him around! Thank you for everything Henry!
Could not be more happy with my apartment and the complex and staff and neighbors. I honestly can say this process was very smooth and best decision I could have made! Great location and apartment layout and office. I’m huge on customer service and getting things done I ask for when I’m paying for it and I absolutely love the office staff and maintenance staff friendly, helpful, professional can’t beat it!
The District Apartment Homes serves the definition of spectacular customer service I wish I could get at all establishments of service. [Continued from Presley Oaks Review]After it was explained to Latoya, manager of The District, the many issues from Presley Oaks I was met with compassion and understanding. Dee along with Madison worked diligently to offer and find any and every possibly way to accommodate my roommate and I from our very traumatic experience at Presley. From offering sweets and coffee to contacting the maintenance team to see if they could flip any units to be prepared for renting.Dee was super optimistic which really gave me the rejuvenation I needed. Madison was already on board to assist with extra concerns I had. Latoya was effectively professional throughout the whole process. Devin from maintenance really pulled through with getting our new home arranged to move in. We moved in as soon as the next afternoon and things have been golden. I am truly grateful to this team for their harmony in making sure we were taking care of and staying true to their purpose to this community. Everyone really did their part and that has been immensely recognized.
Beautiful place and our maintenance staff is great especially Brian ! He always makes sure that my area is clean and everything is running correctly ! I appreciate the fact that he always checks in after services are complete . Thank you Brian for making my experience great !
THEY HATE BROWN AND POOR PEOPLE. Im only leave one star because zero stars is not an option. I would rather live on the street than move back to The District. Every building in the complex has a roach issue, the new manager of the office is nothing but unreasonable, and shows all the signs of a serious drug user. This was the trashiest place I ever had the mispleasure of living in and you could not pay me to move back.
Living here at the District for six months now I can’t rave any louder of how phenomenal the staff is, and other then the wonderful personality of Madison Abrahms and Dee Townsend who professionalism goes without measure, I cant leave out Brian of the Maintence Crew, who has provide prompt and thoughtful service for his visit to my apartment, handling my request with efficiency and with a refreshing level of respect. ( Being On time ).The District really is Phenomenal.
Im going on my third year here. Great place to stay. Perfect location. Its near lots of shopping locations and restaurants. We have great staff. They take time to listen to your needs and address them as soon as possible. I havent had any complaints since my time here. 😊
Great location, apartments are newly renovated, and the new management team seems to really be trying to keep things updated with new improvements throughout the neighborhood and it’s clubhouse. All of the current staff (front office and maintenance) are extremely helpful and always have wonderful attitudes. I upgraded from a one bedroom here with no maintenance issues, to a two bedroom that has had multiple (maybe due to previous tennant’s upkeep or just my bad luck) and every time I have had to call or go to the leasing office about the issues they have acted promptly and seemed to genuinely care about the outcome.
I have lived her for 2 years now this will be my third year coming up. I really love my apartment and the staff is always will to answer questions and my maintenance request have always be taken care of in a timely manner.
My stay at The District has been a pleasure. The property staff has been very nice and accommodating, from the management to the maintenance crew. The apartment has a nice vibe to it. Very spacious and many windows for the sun to shine in. I also appreciate the events they have at the clubhouse . Keep up the great job.
I really like the layout of the floor plans, the luxury feel, granite countertops, backsplash and spacious closets add to the apartment homes. There are great amenities, and the office/maintenance staff are second to none, not to mention the 24 hour fitness facilities. This is a great place for a starter apartment, small family and or working professionals. I highly recommend the place I currently call home!
Amazing community!!! Apartments are nice and newly upgraded and comes with a washer and dryer! Leasing team is great and made everything super easy - Definitely recommend The District!
I only moved in a few days ago and already consider it home. The process of moving in was very smooth and I was helped by the tremendous staff throughout every step along the way. The location is so convenient with the mall located right across the street, and plenty of food choices within walking distance. I cannot recommend The District enough!8 months later as Im about to move out I can definitely say this was a fantastic living experience. The management team was amazing, but a very special shout-out goes to the maintenance team, specifically a gentleman named Henry. He was very prompt in fixing any issue I had, and always offered his services and suggestions at any time. A very hardworking and upstanding guy that deserves all the praise in the world.
Horrible experience, everything is not right. First when I moved they lied to me and told me that they gonna fix the apartment before I move in cause the washer and dryer need to be changed and they had to fix the dressings the bedrooms had the blinders broken. No light bulbs in the whole apartment, and the microwave was broken plus the dishwasher machine was all dirty and clogged. The patio have bugs and they said they gonna fix everything before I move. So I moved the first day everything was still the same m. I complained, I did a list I wrote everything missing and they didn’t do anything about it. I was washing my clothes in a cleaning company I had to pay for it. I bought my own light bulbs and I kept everything g in boxes cause the apartment is in a horrible situation. I found people panties and underwears all over the apartment. I was going to the office everyday to tell them to fix it. And even worst I asked them to give me my money back and move away since it’s a scam and they didn’t want to. I stayed one month with only one key ( I live with my brother and he’s in the lease) and they give us only one key and told me to come back for the other one. Finally they fixed my washer, dishwasher and microwave cause the doors of my microwave was broken and they fixed all of that after 15 days that I moved that’s mean I payed the whole month but my apartment got fixed till the half of the month. I sent them an email to request the number of the corporate, one week without an answer, I went by myself to them and they give it to me, they said that I have to send a voice mail with my name, apartment number, my phone number and reason for calling, which I did but nobody called me back I called over 50 times I still have a screen shot and I still didn’t have no call back. My apartment still not fixed the dryer is still not working right and everything else that I mentioned before. So it’s been 3 months that I’m living in this complex and still having this problems. One week ago they said that spectrum gonna get to our apartment to install something so the complex go live the first August which I really can’t understand and it’s mandatory to everybody. I don’t have no spectrum service but still they said that it’s necessary, I came to my apartment after work and I found it open the doors are unlocked I got scared I couldn’t get to my apartment I went to the management a manager went with me to check if someone is in my apartment and she apologized saying that the spectrum guy forget it open. THIS KIND OF PROBLEMS SHOULD NOT EXIST I GAVE YOU MY APARTMENT IT S A RESPONSIBILITY TO LOCK THE DOOR AFTER YOU ARE DONE. and they said it’s not them it’s spectrum. But I really don’t care who did it as soon as it’s under your responsibility I don’t care about anything else, it’s your problem not mine. To end up today they towed my car saying that I don’t have no resident tag on it, but I had the tag on the seat cause it’s failed when I closed the door and I had to pay $260 for no reason. This complex is a scam, I don’t recommend it to nobody. With their price range you guys can rent anywhere else
Somebody stole me car here and they got roaches and other bugs including bed bugs. I had mold in the apartment. Loud noise all night. The parking is terrible here. There should be assigned parking.
These apartments are great and well maintained, I lived here for 20 months and it was a most pleasant stay, the both old and the new management American Landmark are great, their upgrades and recent renovations are amazing add-onsPros:The apartments are new and well maintained.Their renovations like digital door locks, package Lockers, ceiling fans, Granite Kitchen tops.Maintenance team (Douglas & Chris) and the office staff are friendly and prompt.Location: close to the North lake mall.Renovated Gym and other amenitiesCons:As it is a commercial area, they dont have any childrens play area or Tennis Court.
Office staff is very friendly and made move in very easy. I am happy to call The District home!
These apartments have been efficiently revonated and evolved into premier apartments. New management has done a great job upgrading the property. Prime area near shopping centers and two major highways.
***UPDATED REVIEW**There have been significant changes since my previous review. Noelle, the current property manager, has addressed all of my previous concerns. Our neighbors noise has been reduced drastically (fingers crossed this behavior is not temporary). Also, the issue regarding my wall has been taken care of. Noelle came out and addressed the issue personally and got a painter in the very next day. Maintenance is always friendly, as well as Dee in the leasing office. As a result, I have changed my rating. My previous review is still listed below.I read all of the reviews prior to leasing with The District (formerly known as Madison at Northlake) and I should have listened to the other reviewers. While the first six months of our lease was pleasurable, living here has become a nightmare. The tenants that they now rent to are young, loud, and tend to have parties EVERY night. As a result, we hear constant stomping, running, yelling, loud music, etc. every single night (yes, even on weekdays) up until 3 or 4am. So loud that our ceiling fans and chandeliers shake. So, if you enjoy the simple things in life like being able to sleep peacefully through the night then the District is NOT the home for you. There are several other apartments at this price point. I would not recommend this apartment complex!!!!! Additionally, the apartment complex does not react quickly to service requests. These apartments are marketed as luxury apartments; however, I have had to live with two larges half-plastered walls in my living room for the past four weeks as a result of a bad installation from Spectrum (that was mandatory per the complex). I have had to call, email and go in the office almost everyday in regards to this matter and still no one has been out to my apartment to address the issue.
After experiencing water damage from a fire set by a neighbor, the leasing office couldn’t care less. Can we get a hotel? Will rent be prorated? “Not my call.”- Michelle, leasing manager.Adding after company response: I don’t need a fluffy comment. I need solutions and responses to my communications.
Ive been here almost 3 years and love it. great location staff is nice and good apartment layouts. Madison Dee and marshelle are so helpful and the renovations done are great! Maintenance team gets things done quick and right. I’m moving for work and sad to go!
Ive been living here for 2 years now. The apartments are big and very well located, right in front of the mall, the buss stop and a Target. The Leasing office personal is very friendly and always willing to help, maintenance tickets are easy to lift and quick to be solved, Im very happy with my current living arrangements.
Place does not even deserve one star. These apartments are beyond poorly built. My husband and I have barely slept in a week due to noisy neighbors. The creaking in the ceiling is so loud from the poorly built building. Wakes you up out of a dead sleep, if you are able to even get to sleep. Im unable to sleep in my own bed due to the noises. The cops have been called, management has been aware but no follow up calls or anything to fix the problems. Since weve moved in less then 6 months ago weve had many issues with your air, fridge, dishwasher, and shower. Drunk people screaming in the parking lot and street at all hours of night making keeping windows open for fresh air impossible. Car spinning tires and revving engines at 2 am. Again making it impossible with anyone trying to sleep during normal hours. The hallways are full of trash, smell of cat pee and just plain disgusting. Embarassing to have company over and walk to our apartment. Dog poop is all over the small section of grass we have in this complex so walking from your car to the building is horrible. In the summer the pool is cloudy and trash is over flowing with garbage. Hoping a lawyer will get us out of our lease due to the poor living conditions in this POS place. This place is not worth a dime. STAY AWAY. There are so many other apartment options available close by to be near all the shopping and restaurants. Pick any other apartment but this one. I regret the day I checked this place out and signed my lease. I wouldnt stay here if I lived hear rent free. I hope this review helps anyone considering this place to RECONSIDER.
Siedah is an AMAZING hard working woman! She has went out of her way to help me as much as possible as a resident! Thank You! Your greatly appreciated!
Stayed here 2 years. They have no policy for noise control. If you make an a complaint on a neighbor they do nothing. There is no noise violation which is kind of sad because they are very nice apartments. Neighbors could have a party all night and front office wouldnt even care. If they fixed that I would give them 5 stars.
Honestly I am highly disappointed, if I was not stuck in a lease I would move big time. The apartment complex is in a great location no doubt and the amenities in each individual apartment is nice but these ppl are cheap there is no way I should be able to hear my neighbors full conversation, crackling in the ceilings overall cheap thin walls and at the expense of leasee. I do not recommend this place at all and I am definitely moving once my lease is over if I can’t get a lawyer and get out of it.People do have regular day jobs and go to bed at decent times but depending on neighbors you may never get rest
I lived at Madison Square Place for 2 years and had an overall good experience . The apartment was clean, amenities nice and the small, cozy feel was nice. My biggest issue was the towing spree that ensued in past year(that tones down thankfully )I am not sure if it was new management but they wanted to address the issue of limited parking, but did so in a terrible manner. It was so impersonal and resulted in a 3rd party towing company towing my car and even a guests car who bad come over as we mourned the loss of a loved ones . I was infuriated ! But I am an objective person and can that its an overal lovely place with incredible office ladies . The maintenance man is amazing and responds to issues in great time . I had some issues with noisy neighbors but that comes with apartment living. I credit the management team for addressing issues like noise at pool, littering, etc diligently. I left because of ever rising costs and my dislike of the towing policy but I felt safe there and would highly recommend this place . I can honestly say its one of the better apartments and I think anyone moving there would be pleased .
Lived here for a year and did not renew. Thin walls and If u have noisy neighbors it can be bad. Called the police for my nieighbors making noise in the middle of the night and front office did nothing I was told to just keep calling the police if it continued. Convenience of the mall and stores are great and the amenities are great.
Great staff when it came to applying and move-in. They made sure I was pleased with the unit & was very professional and prompt to my needs!
We love the location of the complex and the amenities are good, but the leasing office was not willing to work with us on a miscommunication regarding rent payments. They charged us a late fee even though someone in their office told us rent was due by the 6th (which was the wrong information). When asked to refund the late fee due to their miscommunication, they refused, stating the date its due was in our lease (its not) and cited fair housing standards. The management company has also been super unhelpful and unresponsive.
I received excellent service when coming to see the apartments.Madison showed great hospitality and really informed me about the neighborhood and it’s benefits .I am happy to say I will be a resident soon.
Careless and bad management in Madison Square Place apartments,Go away to another place where to get nice, caring manager, staff and good service. The apartments are so small, built with cheaper materials.Noise of neighbors music at night and vehicles horns at night and in the morning.
The District Apartments are AMAZING! I absolutley love the new managment team in place. They have diligently work to quickly address and resolve pending concerns and issues. The new amenities in place makes living here really enjoyable. The rennovations to the apartments are phenomenal and adds an upscale modern feel to living here. Not to mention, the location of The District is unmatched. The District is located minutes away from Northlake Mall, Target, restaurants, shopping centers, and the interstate. Ive been here for about 6 months and I am really happy living here. If you are looking to move, you should come tour The District and talk to the new manager Latoya, shes great!
Nice place to stay, but I think it has t wrong zip code. I get an error message every time I put in a system requiring my address. Even registering to vote was a pain. They had to call around to check Geo codes because the zip code wasnt right. Whats up with that?
If I could give 0 I wouldNow i can not say that B&M management was the best landlord but I definitely do not recommend living here since it has been bought out by American Landmark. First thing is first, AMERICAN LANDMARK IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, now if you are in any profession or if you are a professional, that right there should be enough to let you know the practices at this complex. Next, I have had my thermostat go out 3 times during my length of stay in my 2 bedroom, 2 of those times were within 30 days, while it did get fixed (not by the techs that are employed by the complex) one of the two times it happened I went almost 48 hours without heat, a necessity I pay for, especially during the winter when its like 40 degrees outside. Next, I have been here 2 years, I have had my fair share with the parking here throughout my stay but nonetheless I do like the enforcement that they do have on the new parking restrictions but let me say this, if Im paying 1100+ for rent a month and I give you my vehicle information regardless if my permit is up or not, I should not be towed. 3 days ago I came outside to find my car had been towed bc they said I did not have my permit up (while it was in the car) I explained to them I move around a lot, I do work and that night I had just forgot to put my permit back up and they basically told me it was nothing they could do. They towing company they use is a run down hole in the wall towing company on the south side of charlotte and it cost me $175 to get my car out, someone that pays rent on time every month got their car towed bc they forgot to put up a permit 1 night, it is ridiculous. Next, I signed an agreement when I moved up to my 2 bedroom that my rent would be a specific amount, well as of the 1st of April they are trying to charge people $5 to get their mail, TO JUST BE ABLE TO GET INTO THE BUILDING TO GET THEIR MAIL, while they are putting in a new system, I did not sign a contract for a 5 dollar mail fee to be added on to my monthly rent amount, something I will be having a conversation with the post office about tomorrow, because charging someone and withholding mail is against the law, I could understand if my lease was over and I was renewing or if I was a new resident but the contract I signed regardless if the apartment complex was bought out specifically states the amount I owe every month, not what they decide to come in and start charging. If you are strongly considering this place I say you dont! The structure of the apartment are poor as well. I pay money to live in a certain environment/atmosphere and this is just not it, I hope i reached people through this review.
Today I was informed by the office manager that my wife misheard an apartment staff member say rent could be paid on the 6th without being assessed late fees. The sole purpose of my wife making contact with the office staff was to obtain that crucial piece of information since my wife was not in possession of her lease. Based on the verbal communication of the office staff my wife paid the rent on the 6th of the month. As a result, she was charged $60 the following month for paying the rent late the previous month even though she was told by office staff the 6th was not late. Im aware the office staff does not know me or my wife personally; however, that does not mean we are liars or that we misheard anything. To make matters worse my wife and I have made 4 attempts to get this issue resolved with B&M Management. Thus far B&M Management has not returned any of our phone calls or emails. We have been waiting nearly 30 days for a response and all we get is silence. So if someone who has a working relationship with B&M Management is reading this message please call me and/or my wife immediately. We have filed a complaint with the BBB. Our next step is to contact Koehler & Associates. They are a legal firm that helps to resolve Landlord/Tenant disputes. Thank you.
Just ending my short term lease here. I am definitely very particular when it comes to apartments and I was surprisingly pleased with Madison Square.First Siedah and Michelle went above and beyond to always address concerns and make me feel welcome. As far as the actual apartment, the price is what it is. You know what youre expected to pay when you sign the lease. Are they overpriced in my opinion YES but apartment living in Charlotte is expensive. Definitely cheaper to rent a townhome or house and you get more space. The finishes kind of have a high end look... but theyre cheap. However everything is in good working order so no complaints. The blinds are annoying - so cheap that they tangle and get stuck if you try to raise them and are almost impossible to lower. After having to call maintenance to lower them for me I was afraid to mess with them anymore. Carpet is very cheap. Shower heads are very low pressure and a pain for someone like me with long thick hair but you are allowed to buy your own shower head and leave theirs under sink - not sure if this would help water pressure or not. Parking is TERRIBLE. Not enough. If you get home in the evening expect to have a bit of a walk to your door. All in all these issues are the same anywhere you go so I cant count it against the staff. I didnt experience any big issues like mold, roaches, bad neighbors, car break ins (however I hear car break ins happen a lot here). I lived on the first floor and very rarely heard any of my neighbors. I always felt safe. Its convenient to tons of shopping and eating and all major highways.-Tiana
