Nightmare doesnt completely describe our experience with MECA Realty... For starters, it took over three weeks to process our applications (first red flag). Second red flag was the fact that the property manager refused to provide updates on the status of our application, and would only reach out to essentially tell us to STOP contacting them (Kyle Hinson was the property manager we worked with). We had been told that our application and pet had been approved, and they were simply drafting up the legalities of the lease and what not. Turns out, this was not the case, and that the owner of the home decided she wasnt comfortable renting out to single people, she only wanted families in her home... Which I COULD understand, but we had made sure to check that a roommate situation was OKAY WITH THE OWNER before filling out and paying for an application. Like all negative reviewers say, If I could give it zero stars, I would. Shady, shady, shady.

So my family and I have been here since April and while the property is nice, the management is terrible !!!! Kyla Hinson and Zack Mckee have to be the rudest people I have ever encountered. Since we have been here, maintenence has been here every month, replacing the entire HVAC system as of recently. You call all day long, no one ever answers and Zack had the nerve to tell me I only call after hours but how would he know when no one freaking answers the phone?! We have been paying our rent on time every month the same exact way(ach) but this month we paid on the 2nd or 3rd (cant remember) and BOTH payments have been returned and a fee charged but I am not understanding why ?! The things is, I just want the fee waived and the rent taken out to avoid any late fees but of course no answer !!!! They charge you an additional $55 to pay rent with a debit card so that is an option we will NEVER agree too! Lease wont be renewed and I definitely wont recommend this company to any other families !!! I literally hate them !

I hired Coldwell Banker Meca to manage my rental property. The name on my statements says Meca Realty, LLC. The first property manager was great. After him, I had nothing but problems. They dont screen the tenants, they have zero communication skills, and they are completely unprofessional. They dont even know when the tenants move out or inform the property owner. I have severe damage to the plumbing because I was not aware the renters had left and the power and water were off during a freeze. They want you to pay for repairs and maintenance up front then hire contractors who do a terrible job. I was finally able to get into the house to inspect it after three years and it was horrible. The carpets were trashed, there were holes in the walls, there was trash and random stuff everywhere, and everything was absolutely filthy. The tenants stole the refrigerator and the shower head. Yes, THE SHOWER HEAD. The company cant even do blinds right. The ones they replaced are all mismatched and off center. DO NOT USE Meca Realty, LLC. You will lose money and be eternally angry.

Really a great company. Worked with my schedule any time we needed help with anything they were very pleasant and prompt.

Very professional and detail oriented

As residents of Pennsylvania, my husband and I found ourselves in a unique situation in dealing with selling my father’s house in Charlotte, NC after his death. We hired MECA to manage the property and then to sell it for us, We found the staff at MECA to be awesome to deal with as well as the realtor, who went above and beyond and felt like a friend to us! We were treated very well and had a great experience despite our personal circumstances. I would not hesitate to deal with MECA! Property management is a joke. Obscenely high dues for a community with absolutely no amenities. They are the absolute worst and I hate I am stuck with them unless I sell my home. I have photos of how horrifically my personal unit is managed on he outside where they dumped tons of unsightly rocks. Also red mud runs of in massive amounts in front of my unit every time it rains. Christine Morton is negligent and dismissive of any property management needs brought to her attention.

Ashley Thompson is an amazing realtor and were so glad we had her for our first home buying experience. She helped us from start to finish, even after we moved in and we had some hiccups with the property. She went above and beyond for us. She explained next steps, when to expect things, and eased my worries. I would highly recommend her to friends and family.

My husband and I had a house fire and had to rent a house while ours got fixed. MECA was so helpful and easy to work with throughout the whole process and we were able to feel at home in the rental house for the time we were out of our house. Ashley Thompson specifically was such a blessing and truly cared about us and our situation. We are so grateful to have found and used this company!

I hope, for the sake of the people that do business with this company, that the driver from MECA Realty doesnt represent how theyre treated. After I backed out of my driveway onto my neighborhood street, a truck from MECA Realty(tag FHE-8482) sped up behind me and continued to tailgate me the entire journey through my neighborhood. The speed limit is 25mph and I drive it as there a MANY parents with strollers and people walking their dogs along the way. This morning we passed three of those and I know from experience, its appreciated to NOT have a car or truck zoom past you. It was obvious he was using our neighborhood as a cut-through, so he doesnt care about us, courtesy or the safety of neighbors. Just when I thought he couldnt be any more of an aggressive driver, HE PASSED ME ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET! I have no idea how fast he was speeding, only to come up to a stop sign. What a jerk. Be careful if you see this truck. A company truck is advertising for your business and maybe it should be driven that way.

I am purchasing my first home with Meca Realty Jean and Ashley have been very helpful in helping me find the house that is right for me and one that I am going to love. They have walked me through everything that I need to know and they are very honest and compassionate in what they do. they are there with me through every step of the process and I really do appreciate that. thanks for all that you guys do. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate working w MECA Properties. MECA did a great job in finding my new home. Everyone in their firm is top notch- Jean Gossett was very detailed and professional – and quickly knew what I was looking for in a new place. Then once I found my new home- signed a lease, MECAs property management team took over. Ashley Thompson, their property manager is awesome and love working w her- she has been extremely proactive and responsive- honestly I am – and continue to be very impressed w their staff. Could not be any happier!

Were in a townhome in the perfect meighborhood for us and anytime we have maintenance issues, theyre quick to take care of it.

Not a completely bad company but I did not like that the owner had so much contact with me and was very rude. Also not too happy that I was charged $10 for a bathtub stopper that was never there to begin with 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is very long so I’m sorry but it’s sooooo worth the read...If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I live in Charlotte, NC and rented a home from this company. I had nothing but problems the entire year I was there. Everything from filthy, faulty and unkept appliances, to extreme structural/ foundation damage. When I first moved in, within the first few months we had to call maintenance out for the a/c unit. When the guy came out and opened the vent, there was a pink blanket that had been stuffed in it, to catch leaking water, covered in mold and dust. The a/c, heating unit constantly leaked water under the carpet. It was confirmed by THEIR CONTRACTOR that it was pulling power from the wrong source causing our power bill to triple into the $300s, and they still made us pay for it. The furnace was covered in dust and mold, and dried up dirty water that had been running down the side of the unit. The wires were held together by black tape just extremely unkept. There was a large crack in the wall and the finishing in the guest bathroom started peeling and falling from the ceiling. But despite all of that, the biggest problem with them came when it was time for us to move out.Per the lease, we had to give 30 days written notice to move out which we did. Their emailed instructions said to fax over the notice and they would email or call me within 48 hours with further instructions. I faxed it, got a confirmation (the “ok” page) and waited. Two weeks later when I hadn’t heard from them I called and spoke to someone who said they didn’t get the notice and to resend it. So I did. Well two more weeks went by and I still hadn’t heard from them and it was time for me to move out. So I moved out (on a Saturday when they were closed) and returned the keys on Monday morning when they opened. When I went in I was told they didn’t have my notice to vacate form (the one I faxed over TWICE). I had to go home and drive back there to bring them the confirmation from the second fax. I asked to speak to a manager who I was told wouldn’t be in until that Thursday but that she would call me when she got in.Long story short I didn’t speak to her until Friday (and it’s because I called HER). And when I did she tried to tell me because all they had was the second confirmation page (that I gave to THEM) and it was after the 30 days had began that I had to pay for the next months rent even though I was moved out of the house and they had the keys. I told her I faxed it over twice and they hadn’t gotten either one. That I was the one who had to show them the confirmation from the second fax to prove I even sent a fax. She then tried to argue that I had trashed the house. I told her I had pictures of how I left the house and that I saw that they had put a “For lease” sign in the yard. “So you’re currently leasing a trashed house?” I asked her. She couldn’t answer me. She then said it wasn’t up to her but to the owner and point blank they were keeping my deposit and then she hung up on me.I’m currently in a legal battle with them. Please take my advice and DO NOT do business with this company. They are shady and dishonest. They do not take care of their properties. All they care about is taking your money and will drag you through hell and back. Stay far far away!!

They list properties online yet they can never be reached to inquire about them.... no returned calls even after several attempts and voice mails.

My experience with this company has been HORRIBLE. No return calls, EVER. Properties on their website are just about non-existent. Why would any company who is in the business of assisting be that hard to connect with. I feel sorry for the homeowners that have this company hired as a Property manager
