I have lived here for 9 years and it is now called Dwell on Carmel. Ever since the change in property management, it has gone down hill. I find it very hard to get anyone on the phone or to get a returned email. Construction has been going on since last winter, which has been a nightmare. My building was the first to be worked on... I still do not have screens on my windows. They have blown my circuit box, cut my cable wires, etc. I was told new rules include no birdbaths or birdfeeders on the patios. The location is great, but the new company and employees leave something to be desired. I would no longer recommend anyone rent here

We needed a place quickly, but also wanted clean and safe. After calling, emailing and leaving voicemails just about everywhere. The staff at Dwell was the only one to actually pick up the phone on the first try. They got to work and help me and my young family go through all the paperwork and understanding of every fine print. We were able to move in the same week. The team was absolutely outstanding, kind and fun! We are so happy to not just find a home, but a place that was so welcoming from the second we drove up. We are already at ease in our new community after only 6 days. My children have made friends in the community (and I even found some mommy friends). We love it here!THANK YOU to the most amazing and dedicated staff at Dwell and Pegasus Residential!!!

Don’t move here. Apartments have bugs and roaches. They only updated half the complex was informed they’re not updating the other half of the apartment complex. Our bedroom window leaks every time there is rain. Informed management of this and still nothing has been done. Our bathroom tub is peeling and nothing has been done. They don’t care about residents. Still have residents with cheap old appliances and raising the rent is ridiculous. Wish I could afford to move.

UPDATE: Shortly after posting the review below, a fenced off construction site was placed in 75% of the parking lot DIRECTLY in front of my apartment. Now one of us that works from home has to deal with noise from machinery, contractors screaming at each other throughout the day, and also hanging out near our back patio for some reason and making our dog freak out. Counting down the days until we can get out of here, already starting to pack.Charged $100 fee for a single string of lights (never turned on) on the back patio, not visible to anyone else. Previously overlooked the cracks in the walls, ceiling, leaking bathtub, water damage near electrical fixtures (and everywhere else), mold, and trash all over the grounds because the management company (Hawthorne) was great to deal with. Sadly the new management company is the worst I have ever experienced and actually ripped peoples satellite dishes out after giving them a couple days notice and threw them in the trash. After 2 1/2 years here will definitely not be renewing our lease, truly horrendous management.

New management is much better than the last. Not sure why everyone is giving negative reviews when this new company is trying to improve the community. GIVE THEM A BREAK!!! Keep up the good work. Cant wait to see the final finish. Thanks for making this community better!

Bugs. Hellish phone wait times. Too many broken things in the apartment when I first moved in to possibly report in time. Late emergency maintenance (no fault of the worker himself). Workers needing to come INTO YOUR APARTMENT for upgrades with ZERO NOTICE. Dont move here

I have lived here for 2 years and enjoyed my experience as a resident until the new management team called Dwell @ Carmel took over. Their online payment detail was wrong for my last months rent and no one could explain it to me. I waited 3 days for an answer and the management team there knew we were going into a new month and did not bother to call ahead of time to inform me of this past due bill. I assume the price was right because it was what they posted up in till a late fee charge.Im being charged $250 more a month for the exact apartment l live in, with no new upgrades or new amenities! Another way they charge more for rent is having our water bills separate every month, before it was included with our rent bill. I dont believe that anyone can justify this jump in price with all that is going on! (coronavirus, people out of work, and there has been break-ins in the neighborhood). When submitting a maintenance request youll have to resubmit it several times because when you call the office no one knows what you are talking about. It takes weeks for them to repair things that should be regularly checked by the apartment complex team such as filters in the apartment. My doorbell is still broken!I never had an issue until Dwell @ Carmels team came in. I am happily moving out of this apartment complex and hope that my review will make others reconsider what they would be paying for.

Have lived here for a year and just resigned for another. The staff makes this place! quick service/repairs, community events and location location location! We have a 2 bedroom townhouse, did a little painting and added some lighting and we adore our apt. 30 second drive from Harris Teeter and CVS. Tough to find anything in this area at the price point. Tandy and Nicole are great!

If I could give 0 stars for this complex, I would. Horrible in every way. Management is terrible and the apartments are infested with roaches and other bugs. You will also get randomly charged for random things and management won’t take it off unless you go to the office. They never answer calls. Steer away.

Update: they lowered the rent increase (still more than my current rent). I would definitely beware of living here during all of this construction. I wish I had the option to move this year.Rent increased during construction. This is the viewfrom my window. Now they are redoing the buildings. Increases shouldnt happen during all of this mess.

Just got charged $100 fee even though patio furniture was removed as requested. This place is not worth $1400+ per month for a 2 bedroom with filthy carpets. Also will only be able to pay rent online starting next month with a $36 fee, and I am unable to even log into the portal to do so even though Ive been to the office twice to fix this issue. Not cool. Weve always paid rent by check or online with only a $1 fee. Will be moving out as soon as the lease is up. Never had any issues for several years until new management took over. Cant wait until the lease is up. Would not recommend.

So if you live here and a fire starts in your apartment, a fire that isnt your fault but theirs because they didnt fix or replace a stove you said has problems, they will say they will help you out and fix it. But they just try to wait you out. They know that they have to get rid of you because you cant live in your apartment because of the fire. You are Homeless now. But wait there is more. They Dont want to give you rent or deposit back. They just want to leave yo on the streets. This happend on Dec 4th 2020, they just didnt do anything to help us out. My sister was homeless for a couple of days because of them

It is bitter sweet moving from this property! Dwell at Carmel has been nothing but good to us as a residence! They took over & restored the Peace & good service to the property. Under the old management this place was falling apart! Me, my wife and kids lived in the 4027 Quail Glenn ct building. We were so happy that team Dwell at Carmel took over! This place is quickly growing into an elite property and I am happy for their future and appreciate them and all they’ve done for my family! I recommend dwell at Carmel to anyone looking for a place to live! God bless!Rufus Moore PKA Rufus Blaq

Mostly good recently not great. We have lived here for 3 years and have enjoyed the area and Hawthorne management. We were excited for new management hoping that new maintenance would approve the repairs needed in our apartment. We were given a letter telling us we needed to take everything off our patio, the only thing permitted was furniture and no rugs. My husband was so worried about the fine he even removed our door mat! We cleared everything like requested. 2 weeks later I was doing a painting project, I hung a tarp over my railing to dry with plans to remove it when dry. We were charged $100 dollar fee for the tarp and a wind chime that was hanging on a hook (that came attached to the patio) when we moved in. Aren’t hooks actual hardware that is used for hanging things? Why would you put them there only to fine us for using them? We requested that the fee be removed as we followed instructions but they could not refund us and everyone else that they charged. We should sign a petition. It’s nice that they decided to charge us for personal taste on our patio that we are paying every square foot for, during COVID! At a time when we are all confined and struggling through this year. On another note it would be nice to have our dishwasher working again as it’s been out of service for over a week now. They said they ordered a part but it’s been 8 days since they’ve looked at it. They will probably post a reply below this comment saying please reach out to us to further discuss your issue. Well we have reached out with no avail and no sympathy. On the bright side the square footage is nice and the front office staff and maintenance men are friendly and helpful. We appreciate the place and the staff but are very frustrated at new policies and ways of doing things.

I love this community. The landscaping is kept up with very well. Maintenance are very prompt, courteous, and fun! They were able to only some minor issues upon my move in very quickly. Also, the area that this community is placed in is highly convenient. I am close to Harris Teeter, Starbucks, a nearby mall, and more. The Pup Town Park, Hammock Garden, and Nature Trail are my favorite amenities so far. Its spacious and filled with lush greenery. Another perk is that it seems that any apartment you would end up with, you will always have a private balcony view of nature. In apartment home living, this is very rare to find, and I appreciate that so much!Thank you so much for making this move in process so wonderful, Quail Valley on Carmel!

Got charged $100 for a windchime- on my patio not being patio furniture. Letters were sent patio furniture only with no list of what patio furniture is, maybe thats my mistake... I always learned communicating is the job of the communicator though...The payment option (by check in person) referenced by management below in a prior review is being done away with in January, so only option will be to pay rent electronically + additional fee for paying rent electronically (by credit or checking).Apparently in North Carolina theres no tenant laws that require basic decency to clean an apartment prior to a new tenant moving in. And management is happy to do exactly that.Pros: Management is friendly- so thats nice.If you have Asthma, allergies, or generally like a clean location, dont move here, or be sure to get it in your lease cleaning the apartment prior to move-in is required. Been pulling out attached picture daily for 3 months now :/ Power vacuum and roomba. A carpet is supposed to be changed by law in North Carolina every 7 years - God knows. On leases: A washer/dryer was promised and included in my lease but none found in my apartment.Dwell, your website says office opens at 830am but nobody is in until 9, please fix.

I’m giving two stars because they can do better with keeping up with the cleaning of the complex. It looks so nasty who would want to live here. The buildings look so old they need a pressure wash. The pictures looks nothing like what you see in person. And the cost is to high for this place. All the money they get and they are to cheap to make the place look like something. I wouldn’t live here. There are other apartments that’s nice have a clean environment cost less. People please don’t waste your money here. I’m Just Saying.

The new management is fantastic. Employees in the office are very nice and super friendly. The community is always having events that everyone can participate in. Maintenance crew is super fast on resolving any issues. I love the location. Tucked back in a wooded area behind a nice shopping complex with a grocery store, pizza, drug store, dinning, and other small shops. All within a short walk. There is a nice gated area to let your dog run free.

I was really hoping to move into these apartments because they have some of the best reviews for places in our budget. I called two days in a row and filled out the online form for information on two bedrooms and never got the information requested. When I called back today (the second call) apparently my name and email had been taken down wrong, and I still did not get any emailed info as promised on the call. (Yes I checked my junk mail). The online form didn’t help get me more info. Very disappointing as we really were hoping to move into these apartments in a couple weeks.

I found these apartments online. I was moving out of state for work and these were close to my new job. I thought the pictures online looked great, and decided to move in. I lived here for a little over a year in a 2 bedroom unit. The unit was not clean when we moved in, there were hairs under the toilet and mold beginning in the shower. The screen to the back porch was ripped wide open, the wall repairs looked unprofessional and the carpet did not meet up with the threshold and began fraying shortly after moving in. There were grooves in the linoleum. The closet doors were put on so jacked up that you couldnt even open and close them without them falling off the tracks. Within a couple months we would constantly find crickets, cockroaches, and mice. We had multiple instances of having an exterminator out, but after a couple months the critters would be back. The garbage disposal sounded like chunks of metal were grinding, and when the lazy maintenance came out they said this was a result of a napkin in the drain. They removed the napkin yet the problem persisted. They then told us there was nothing more they could do. Our dryer we rented broke within a few months of moving in, it would no longer dry clothes. Instead of determining the issue, it was replaced with a new dryer. This would be great, except for the fact that the dryer exhaust and vent was so clogged with lint that even this new unit could not dry our clothes. It took them a few days to repair this because they didnt know what they were doing, which would be fine with me but they left a mess of lint and drywall all over our apartment from where they had to rip open the wall and did not bother cleaning this up in between repair daysWe addressed the carpet issue we had and were also told nothing could be done except to replace the carpet, which was not an option. Upon moving out the apartments tried billing us over $550.00 for the carpet, though we had previously told them of the issue, claiming a pet stain was the reason we received the bill when in reality they wanted to get out of paying the bill for their crappy installation. . Thanks for the mess guys!DO NOT LIVE HERE, YOU WILL REGRET IT!
