I don’t like to prefer this apartments who wants peace in home because this apartment looks good by seeing and when we check the reviews but when we start staying here you don’t experience safe because irresponsible staff, lots of cockroaches, bugs, too much smell in home and spiders before signing the lease the staff said they will resolve issues in few hours but after signing lease they don’t stand by on their words.we need to wait for at least 2-3 months to wait for your request..leasing office people never respond your calls or email ..they don’t care after your in leasing they care only before leasing..If you want to leave peace don’t come to this apartment.. very very bad staff and maintenance request.
Maintenance used to be great, don’t know what happened. My ac broke causing my closet carpet to become wet, someone came out & fixed it. However I vacuumed the water of the carpet with my own machine & have been waiting on a fan they said they’d bring to dry the carpet & an air filter for 4 days now. Also I had mold on my bathroom ceiling & it took them 2 & a half weeks to come look at it.
I read the bad reviews but thought I would check it out anyway. Spoke to someone on the phone who told me specifically to come in around 12:30 or 1:00. Drove out there and the leasing agents wouldn’t show me a unit. Two agents sitting at desks and both were rude and said I hadn’t spoken to anyone. Unfortunately I didn’t bring my notes from when I was making calls this morning and I’ve spoken to numerous complexes so I couldn’t remember the name of the person I spoke with. In any case, they weren’t interested in getting a new lease signed.It’s no wonder they have tons of available units while everywhere else in town is full for months out. Their prices are lower here but they have units sitting vacant… that should tell you all you need to know. Plus the area sucks and complex doesn’t look very clean or nice. But I was still willing to view and consider it. Oh well! I consider this a bullet dodged. They asked if I wanted to schedule for tomorrow and I said no thanks! Couldn’t pay me to lease from them after this. Who wants to deal with a leasing office like this?
Resident since 2019 just transferred within the community to larger unit. My respects to the maintenance staff every time they pick up grounds there is trash in the same place hrs later and seems they didn’t pick up but did. Sarahi has been very helpful in the move in and transfer process she is very professional.
Moved in back in 2020 and love my place. My service request do not get completed within a day but get done soon after. The office staff help me everytime I go there specially Sarahi very nice always.
I moved in during May and I’m already on my 2nd/3rd page of work orders. Every time I visit the office it’s either closed or by appointment only. Lately I’ve been given the run around and I think it’s highly unprofessional being that I don’t give them the run around when it comes to my rent every month. The emergency work orders process is not very considerate. You could have many other work orders still waiting and they will only come to you to fix the emergency work order days after you place the request. With COVID going on I suggest that if someone has an emergency work order they should correct that issue plus whatever other issues the tenant may already have placed in the system to prevent backtracking and make sure no issue is forgotten about. I have had very pleasant experiences with Jesse apart of the maintenance team. He’s the only person who has contacted me and came to my apartment about my maintenance issues. I’ve never been contacted by Jay or whoever the maintenance supervisor is suppose to be. I’m not trying to give anyone a hard time but my duke energy bill is really almost $200 for a one bedroom apartment that I occupy by myself and you want me to continue to leave this AC unit on in my place, plus pay my rent and additional fees? I just would like to stay in my apartment for at-least one month without any issues during my lease, as a paying tenant I feel like I deserve that plus I literally just got here in May, it hasn’t even been 6 months yet so yes I’m very disappointed in my choice of moving here as of now. I love how my apartment looks but clearly just because it may look good doesn’t mean it actually is in good standing.
The worst apartment I ever seen in my life😡.. irresponsible staff and apartments were not clean and maintenance request was vey bad. There are lot of bugs.I don’t recommend anyone to stay in this apartment, not a safe place and lot of bugs and the worst maintenance.
Incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional management. This is the third time since I moved back to Charlotte that I’ve tried to view one of these apartments and the third time these people have given me the run-around. Today they scheduled me for a 2:30pm appointment that they failed to show up for, and also failed to call or email me regarding their failure to show or to provide an explanation for wasting my time. I took a tour around the external property myself and many of the common areas are overflowing with garbage. Please look elsewhere if responsive and/or caring management is important to you.
Star-Anne is absolutely the best apartment manager I know . She is always available and helpful . Never rude or impatient. I love how she take care of the community. Star-Anne I hope you never leave . You’re truly AMAZING & Thank you for all your hard work !
My husband and I have lived here for about 2 years and within that time have experienced many different issues. The office staff is not always pleasant to speak with but the most pleasant experience I’ve had was with Marque’l Cummings. He deserves a five star rating. He is very attentive and so willing to help. I hope in future all staff will provide that type of service.
I started communicating with Chris in February and I moved in in April! My place is immaculate. I have new floors and new carpet. Pictured below is Jesse and my pup Hendrix fixing my drain in my bathroom today! Jesse is super informative and did not leave until he had everything fixed! I don’t have an issue with pest and my neighbors keep to themselves pretty much. You can tell people over here work (if ya know what I mean) lol.
Anson at the Lakes staff have been helpful above and beyond for the entire process. Marquel and Sarah were our leasing partners and some of the most polite people Ive ever met, and so professional. Completely botched the application process, telling us the apartment was ready to move in on our desired move in date. well as soon as we apply and pay our fees, I get a call saying that they made an oopsie and the apartment wont be available for an additional 2 weeks. Besides completely screwing over my living arrangements, Im out over $500 in fees because this shady apartment complex was not upfront about the availability of the unit. Im calling my bank and reporting this as fraud and requesting a chargeback on the fees. They straight scammed us into applying and once they had their money they just completely screwed us over. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!!! very dirty property too....

This is my second lease here and Angela has been nothing short of great. She is simply amazing and does her best to help any and everyone the best way she possibly can.
I came to Charlotte in 2019 and my first living complex was horrible. My lease ended and I’ve noticed a son at the lakes not to far from my current place. I looked no where else besides Anson at the lakes. The management maid me feel at home immediately as I arrived. COVID happened and I didn’t know what was going to happen. To be honest with the fellow readers, they made it so easy on me that I couldn’t Believe it. Here I am backed up on rent and anson is here to work with me not against me. I was able to sleep knowing they was working with me to figure out a plan. In Boston my hometown people was getting evicted, just to put this into perspective. Angela and and the whole Anson at the lakes management team as well as Bell partners inc did an incredible job on how they handled the whole year and still continuing today. At the end of the day you want to be somewhere where you’re not just an apartment number, but an actual human being. So again my hat is off to Anson At The Lakes!

Peaceful, relaxing home. This apt is in a great location, easy access to highway (i-77 and i-485) . The complex is very quiet at night with good amenities. Sarahi in the leasing office is always there to listen, helpful and things get fixed quickly. I would recommend living here.
Jesse was amazing he came in fixed my bathroom and did it in like 5 seconds very professional too.
I loved the new renovations in this apartment and that’s what brought me to move in, but everything else is an inconvenience. I wake up every morning to what seems like a wrestling match upstairs, my trash sits out for 5 days awaiting “valet” trash pickup which then attracts ants. Neighbors are never considerate about their noise level and litter left outside everywhere, even the parking lot. People are stingy about parking spots and will leave a note on your car claiming their spot when we don’t have assigned parking. Meanwhile other broken down vehicles will take up spots for months. Your packages WILL be stolen if you don’t pick them up right away. This has happened to me several times and it’s honestly beyond frustrating. I’ve only been here a few months but I just don’t think I can finish my lease. God bless the next tenant.
I was having quite the maintenance issue for a while with a leaky roof the in the ceiling of my bathroom. I began to get frustrated that no one took the time to ACTUALLY care about my needs as a resident here. BUT if you really need something done you HAVE to talk to Marquel and Ms. Bellamy. They are very helpful, professional, and make you feel like you matter! They are beyond awesome and will make sure you are WELL taken care of 👍🏽👍🏽
Alex and Jesus were freaking amazing!! Very quick to answer all of my concerns. Alex helped with my heat as I was going out of town on Monday and while he was here also addressed my concerns regarding my lights going off when I tried to use my microwave and he had a new microwave for me AND installed it three days later. Amazing staff :)
This place is really nice! I’ve only lived here for a few weeks but I’m already really enjoying myself. The maintenance staff in particular are all speedy, smart, and super kind. Most recently Renatto came and helped us with an oven issue, and was in and out in less than two minutes!
Camille has been amazing, making my experience at Anson a thousand times better!! Choosing Anson as my home was the best decision I made when I moved to Charlotte... come and see for yourself!

Not sure why we pay 30$ for the trash 25 for valet 5 for the city dumpster valet trash doesn’t get picked up everyday and the dumpsters sometimes are a hotmess, also there’s a dog park but not a playground for kids, huge community and only one pool is open.That’s honestly my only issue here.

I have complained for over a month about a smell in my apartment. Still there nothing has changed. Never clean the breezeways. There is dog pee stains all over them and after complaining about the dog pee and poop in the breezeways all management did was send out a letter to everyone in the building. Never cleaned them. It’s dirty. Wouldn’t recommend

I have lived at Anson at the Lakes for 3 years and have experienced several management changes during that time. This year i had the pleasure of working with Angela Bellamy on my lease renewal. Though we are going through unprecedented times and stresses, i wanted to be sure to let someone know how helpful Ms. Bellamy was in my exploring my leasing renewal options. She worked with me one one to resolve the technological issues i was experiencing with the system and though very busy focused her attention on resolution of my concerns. In my experience, this does not always happen and when it does we should call attention to it.
I am enjoying living here . It’s very quiet and I love turning the key to my new home . I moved here in January and Camille made it a very easy process for me . Maintenance is very fast with fixing issues as needed . I love it here .

As a whole not a bad apartment complex! Office staff, particularly Angela, was very caring during the Covid-19 pandemic. They responded in a timely manner and were always willing to help in anyway possible.Maintenance always showed up in timely manner as well, and always went above and beyond.The apartment is updated, with nice kitchen features. The neighborhood and community is a very diverse one, with some neighbors not being very welcoming however.

Updating review - Water issues here all year of 2020, I understand once and awhile but all year? Horrible, and they have the nerve to raise rent with all amenities closed and water issues.Charged me extra for not sending in rental insurance, communicated with them to let them know I was covered during the times I forgot to send in docs, docs show I was covered too and still didnt waive the fee.Bad idea renewing my lease. I cannot wait to leave.

Alex came to repair the leak coming from my refrigerator and also to fix the shower curtain Rod. He was very nice, professional and efficient. He showed me what the problem was and explained why it was happening (which I greatly appreciated) He was done within 45 mins with everything. Alex is an asset to the maintenance staff here. Great job Alex!!
I want to give ALL of the MAINTENANCE team 5 stars. They have always done an outstanding job since I’ve been living an Anson, they are very hard working and very nice. The Manager, Mr. John King came out to take care of my maintenance issue right away this last time. He kept me informed at all times of the status of my maintenance issue. He was very courteous and professional. Thank you Maintenance team for your hard work and dedication.

Juan the maintenance man did a great job, we had an electrical issue and solved it within 3min of entering our home. Also too an excellent example in covid regulations by wearing a mask prior to entering. Great staff and a big help.
Anson at the Lakes was better when they were under cortland Management. Now that they are under Bell Partners I have been having issues with tenants smoking weed and the smell coming in my apartment, and playing loud music. When I put in a noise complaint against the tenant, the next thing you know you will have a noise complaint file against you. When in fact I dont have guest over nor do I play music at all in my apartment. Then when you teach out to Management about false accusations being made against you for loud music, which I know isnt true they never respond to my emails. When I call they say they going to look into it and call me back and I never get a call back. I pay to much money in rent to have to deal with this. You bring it to their attention and they expect you to be the one to do the investigation and tell them where the smell of weed is coming from. Thats their job, but they real quick to put a noise complaint notice in your door for false accusations, rather than getting to the root of the problem. Never had this issue when it was under the management with Cortland, and I been staying here since 2016. Now they got a bunch of hood rats living out here that smoke weed and play loud music.
The Good:Despite the building being over 20-years old, my apartment appeared to be lightly lived in. There were few major flaws or defects. The apartment was very clean and there were no rats, mice or roaches. I may have once or twice seen something that appeared to be a roach, but wasn’t sure. There are a lot of weird bugs down here, especially because the apartments are close to a lake, which naturally attracts all sorts of critters. Yes, there are water bugs/palmetto bugs. I’ve seen about 10 or so of them in total. Some alive, some dead. I don’t know if you’d call that an infestation, but I do see at least one a week or every 2 weeks.Maintenance is pretty quick to respond to problems and take care of things in an efficient manner. I have no complaints. Anthony, Alex, Juan and the other various Juans who visited my apartment have all been wonderful. Juan #1 actually gave me the tour and instructed me on the use of the various features in the apartment. He was wonderful.If you manage to get an apartment that overlooks one of the lakes, or trees when it is warm outside, then you are in for a treat. The view outside from almost every window in my apartment is stunning. When it rains, it’s like being in a treehouse in the Amazon. Just gorgeous.Apartment looked exactly as it did in the videos online. I was very happy as quite a few people told me I was foolish to rent sight unseen. Another plus, my apartment had a pantry even though one wasn’t shown in the video for my unit.Beautiful grounds. I love walking through the complex when it is nice outside. I want a golf cart now after hitching a ride with some of the guys driving through.Now, for the bad…Filthy neighbors. The people who live on the main level of the building I live in use the backyard, which is full of trees and hidden from view of most of the complex, as their own personal trash can. I have complained to management, and God bless Angela, the new manager, she had it cleaned up. However, within a day or two, the neighbors are back to littering. No matter how many times it is cleaned, the neighbors dirty it up. This is a problem exclusive to my building. I toured other buildings and didn’t see this.The buildings inside the main gate are not maintained as well as the buildings you see when you enter the complex… particularly those across from the leasing office. The exterior of those buildings are immaculate and I can’t help but believe they do that to give potential tenants a good impression. However, if your apartment is behind the main gate, it’s a different story. The exterior siding is full of dirt, grime, leaves and lots of bugs and spiders.Building hallways are never cleaned. Ever. When I arrived I cleaned the walkway myself and continue to do so. I have visited other buildings and it is the same.Gate codes do not work. My gate code has never worked for me.The gate for pedestrians is never locked, which defeats the whole gated community thing.Not luxury living. While my apartment is lovely and more than adequate and habitable, the fixtures are not luxury and look better online than in person. The backsplash, which looks like glass tile online, is not. I don’t know what it is, but it’s cheap looking. The cabinets are standard builder grade.So, would I advise anyone to rent in this complex? Maybe. Depending on the building you live in and your neighbors, you may have a completely different experience. Some buildings have better upkeep and neighbors, which will make your stay much more pleasurable.This complex spans about a mile and has 6,000 units according to one of the maintenance workers.There are some things I did not mention here as I have no knowledge, such as parking. I do not own a car.Never had packages stolen. I work from home, so I am usually around to receive them. On the rare occasion I have not been home, they were here when I arrived. Again, the quality of your neighbors will determine much of your experiences here.
Been living here for three years now.!. Love everything about my apartment. The maintenance staff and the leasing office are very friendly and professional. I made a maintenance request and within a few hours German came to fix the issue. He was is very professional and kind and a very hard working.!. Glad German was here to help.
Renatto came by today immediately after notifying the office about our thermostat. He was such a great help, one of the nicest workers I’ve met. Definitely satisfied with the job he did and the timely manner that it took!

Alex is awesome! He is a very nice guy and completed my maintenance request and more!I requested that he come look at the A/C and when he did, I requested that he change the air filter and fix a gap that was in the door. Great experience, I moved into the anson apartments from across the country and Camille was extremely helpful in coordinating my move in! as I was never able to tour the facility before my move in.
I moved in yesterday and called maintenance this morning to fix my a/c (I wasn’t sure how to work the nest thermostat because it wasn’t cooling the apartment). Alex and Juan came out within an hour and not only fixed the a/c but they fixed everything else I had on my list that needed to be fixed. They also made sure I had no other concerns before leaving. They were extremely professional and pleasant!
Maintenance is absolutely wonderful especially Renatto he helped me out and got everything done fast. He definitely gets 5 stars for performance of work and also customer service

Camille has been such a great help in our process to moving in. We will be starting our residency soon and I feel confident and very reassured about my stay from the continuous help and thorough walkthrough of things that we needed. Awesome help and a very good employee to have working at Anson.
I’ve lived here for about a year now, and am in the process of transferring apartments to a bigger one at Anson. Sarah has been a wonderful help with all my questions and concerns and has been great to work with during this process!
I have been at Anson @ the Lakes for almost a month now. Honestly, when I first moved in I had a MAJOR infestation of roaches. Flat out, infestation. However, I had to continue the process because ofc that was my new home. I was so down about it because I didn’t want to move my things in at that moment. The office notified me the day of about the infestation even though I should have been notified about it. Again however when I expressed my deep concern about this issue it was IMMEDIATELY HANDLED. I had an emergency extermination the next day, and the day after that! As of right now 90% of them are GONE! To where I can comfortably live in my apartment vs the beginning of me not being able to walk around barefoot. To be clear the 90% was exterminated the NEXT DAY. Ever since then I get an exterminator come to my apartment every Wednesday every week for two months for EXTRA security! And I couldn’t be more happier. Also any maintenance issues I had (new screens, new blinds, Bluetooth issues with kitchen lighting) are handled in a timely manner! I do not have to follow up with them about anything maintenance! They will come. The apartments are nice as h*. I have a Charleston and it’s beautiful, everything is modern, & not run down! Be sure to check your apartment anything that does not sit right with you SHALL be handled by maintenance! Also the office associate who has been with me since I first applied is OUTSTANDING! His name is Mar’quel C. He has been nothing short of understanding, PROMPT, sweet. I can easily tell he loves what he does and takes he role very seriously in the office. I know I am not his only resident he deals with, but he could not convince me otherwise!! He is very much the bomb. Like I want to be friends now, lol. Anyways I recommend asking for MAR’QUEL to help you with assistance in your application process and he will be there every step of the way. And THEN SOME 😘SIDENOTE... Roaches are pests brought in by PEOPLE. Once they are gone they are GONE. Idk what pesticides they use but it was very worthy.
Overall I gave Anson 3 stars because at the time that I lived here (2019) it was enjoyable. Unforeseeable circumstances is why I left not because of management. However I do feel Cortland property management did handle the community better than Bell property management. Renters insurance included was always a plus and Bell took that away. Tiffany the old manager was very understanding to circumstances as well as the leasing agents. I don’t know who is in the office now but Cortland definitely had the best staff. They’re are pretty strict when it comes to pool bracelets and people that have access to the gym (which doesn’t make sense because key fobs constantly have to be replaced). The gate never works, but I didn’t move there because of a gate. The actually leasing process was kind of a scam because they show a beautiful apartment in the front of the complex just to give you one hidden in the back and add on a lot of fees to an original seemingly low rent. There’s also a lot of crime in the area because of surrounding neighborhoods. So basically the rent is high because they remodeled everything to look nice which I paid extra for because I am a granite countertop, goosehead, dishwasher kind of gal. For first time apartment owners or people new to the area I would recommend. I do think changes should be made to rent in terms of removing hidden fees and fixing gates so crime could be lower (oh yea my car and others cars got broken into several times). Overall not a bad place to live.
Have been living at Anson since July 2018. Love the modern layout, the spacious kitchens and bedrooms and especially how quick they are to help you when you need anything done at the unit. Its also close to shops, supermarkets, highway, and just a few minutes down South Blvd to South End or Uptown. Recently, Ive considered starting a new lease and moving to a different unit within Anson. Sarah Santana graciously and patiently helped me through the whole process, always incredibly helpful and readily available to help me. I highly recommend Anson at the Lakes!
Anson at the lakes is terrible. I put in maintenance order for trash to be picked up around my apartment a month ago and no one has done anything about it. I sent out emails . Called and went into the office to tell them and even spoke to the ground keeper and nothing a has been done yet. I can’t wait to move from here . They over charge for rent for something they can’t keep up on their end . If you don’t believe me here’s pictures

The air filters at my mothers house were terribly dirty even after two moths. The office is not very responsible but today we were lucky to received a call back from Camille (from the office) who was very sensitive to the situation and very helpful. Jesse from maintenance came, changed the filters and assessed the dust situation. We have people with Asthma and the dust was creating an unhealthy situation. He was extremely helpful, polite and check other areas of the apartment. Kuddos to Jessy and Camille!
Maintenance (Alex) did an amazing job fixing my patio door. He replaced the wheels and it works great now. He also fixed a few other issues I had while he was here. He is super friendly, quick, and does excellent work. 100%
I had the most welcoming experience with Marque’l Cummings, he worked with me & always kept in touch. Even tho the process took a little while due to online technical difficulties, Sarahi Santana did everything she could to resolve the issues. The community is nice & gated. It’s very well secured so there are no worries. I’m glad I chose them

The water line to one of the toilets in my apartment busted this morning. Maintenance (Alex) was insanely fast at stopping the water and fixing the pipe. Then they brought some guys in to clean up all of the water and they fixed my toilet seat which was a little loose and an issue I had with a door all in one go. They were amazing and I cannot thank them enough. Great job!!

DO NOT LIVE HERE! My name is Garrett, I am an active duty service member and am a current resident. I could not implore you enough to not waste your time living here. At the fore front, about 50% of all my packages have been stolen off of my door step. These include items ordered online and things sent to me for work. Absolute ZERO steps were taken to fix the problem aside from, oh, Im sorry that is happening to you. I had contacted them on numerous occasions about the issue and received responses saying management would be in touch and I would never hear from them. Finally I said enough was enough and decided to try and break my lease as a result of their inaction and negligence and I am the one penalized with early termination fees. The lack of professionalism and flagrant disregard for residents is utterly appalling. This is the just the most glaring of issues here. But to end this on a positive note, the leasing agents and grounds crew is super nice and professional. DO NOT LIVE HERE!
I enjoyed living here. I did not have any issues. Neighbors were good people. Only reason Im moving is due to the space. I have a 1BD and Its too expensive for a 2BD. I would recommend anyone for this place it is quiet. One big issue only seen is the fruit fly. I dont know how they got in and I didnt keep many fruits but I had a major problem getting them out and thats because winter came. I did not report it to the office so I tried to deal with it. My neighbors down the hall delt with the same issue.
Alex is phenomenal. I placed a work order around 9 AM and by 12:30 PM he was knocking at the door.He was in and out in a matter of minutes and was very quiet during the repair.

Im glad i made the decision to move here. Normally im not the type to post a review but the front office, especially Sarah, as well as the maintenance team, made me want to leave a review. The team is always nice and quick to get things done, and my apartment was spotless and looked great when i moved in. Also the move in process was seamless. Complex wack!. Cant have guests after-hours because theyll get towed no notice no nothing. Youll be left with a $225 tow bill that they wont care about as long as they go they cut!

I just wanted to take the time to thank Alex for his great service. Our AC unit had an issue after hours and Alex came and placed a temporary unit for us until the AC unfroze. Again thank you Alex for your great service!
Alex was very friendly and helpful fixing our thermostat. He arrived in under 24 hours and fixed our heating issues in under 30 minutes. Great experience!

My boyfriend and I moved here 12/06/19 and so far so good so far. The only thing I do not like about this community and I wish I would have asked before we decided to move here is the parking. The parking is horrible. There’s barely parking for residents. There are more reserved parking then regular parking. The reserve parking is not cheap either, at least to me it’s not. You have to pay $125.00 for reserved parking and you can only have 1 per house hold. Both my boyfriend and I have lots of family members who wants to visit us but will not be able to all at once due to parking. The apartment is beautiful, inside and out. It’s quite (but then again it’s cold outside) and there are lots of kids in the neighborhood, so it might just be quite because of the weather. The staff are nice so far. Overall this community is tolerable. I do not recommend this community if you love to have friends and family over like my boyfriend and I.

Like most commenters, I agree that the maintenance staff at Anson at the Lakes is the best thing about the complex. Renatto & Jessi fixed several problems in my apartment today and I am very pleased with the results and their professionalism. They are the best. 👍🏽
