My boyfriend and I very much enjoyed living at Camden Ballantyne this past year. The staff is amazing! They were helpful during our leasing process and throughout our stay. My maintenance request was answered in a timely manner and the property was always kept clean. The location was perfect, we always went on walks around the community and the neighborhoods next door. If the weather was nice, we would walk to Harris Teeter or one of the local restaurants for lunch. Also the highway is right down the street, which was very convenient. Overall this was a great apartment community and we would recommend Camden Ballantyne to our friends and family!

Read the reviews by Susan D and Jaime. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere. Luckily I got out of there; and see residents are having the same issues I did when I lived there. Don’t let the excuse palmettos from outside somehow get into your apartment; this community is infested with them. It’s a serious problem, so again these positive reviews are pushed to the top to cover up what’s really going on. It’s an old outdated community that lacks upkeep, which is a huge part of the problem. Basically they put a fresh coat of paint over dirt here.

I lived here half a year in 2015 - really great community with good location

My maintenance technician Luis is always on point and VERY thorough in his work. I’m always pleased when he comes to take care of whatever it is that needs fixing inside of my apartment. I’ve been living at this particular Camden location for over two years and he’s been my go to. I Always receive the best service. Luis is very courteous and quick. Camden you should really be proud to have someone like him as a part of your team.

Very dirty and roach infested place! Management is all talk and no action and cant take care of the place as there are roaches literally everywhere.Cars are routinely broken into and crime is a problem but they wont do anything about it. Would recommend finding some place else to live.

Maintenance personnel are great.Very pleasant and efficient.Office personnel always there to help. We use the dog park a couple of times a day. Very nice. Great location. Only bad thing that we have experienced is our upstairs neighbors, they are constantly running and jumping at all hours. I am sure it doesn’t happen to all apartments.

These apartments are made out of paper, don’t move here.

Kelsey is the best! I wanted to rent a unit even before I saw one because of her warm, welcoming personality and great attitude. She really seems to like what she does and that is most refreshing! She is very genuine and accommodating! Just adore her!

We had to move due to my job but we loved living here! Having the pool, tennis court, gym, and volleyball court not to mention valet trash service was so convenient. Brittany and Elizabeth from the office and all the service team are wonderful and took care of any problems quickly. Grounds are very well kept and gorgeous especially in the fall with the leaves changing color. Location is so convenient especially if you work at Ballantyne Corporate Park as it is just across the street. We really miss it!

Camden Ballantyne is AWESOME! Since I called them, toured, and applied everything has been amazing and easy. The staff is super nice and a huge help in getting things set up for me since I am from out of state. The apartment has great upgraded appliances, is so spacious, has so much storage space, and feels like home! I had looked at a lot of other properties in the Ballantyne area and never felt as welcome as I did here. The grounds are beautiful and so well maintained! The salt water pool is beautiful and looks like such a fun place to hang out and relax, I cannot wait. They are also super pet friendly and have a really open and clean “Bark Park”. I am looking forward to making Camden my new home in Charlotte and cannot wait to move in.

ROACH INFESTED!!! Dont be fooled, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained outdoors, but the inside leaves alot to be desired. If you can get used to large, flying roaches (despite getting bi-weekly, not weekly as advertised, pest control), outdated appliances, warped wooden decks, burnt cabinets, worn carpets yet smiling faces from the office staff...youll love it. The truth is most people are passive and they are used to people not complaining and being passive about things but not I...you are entering into a legally binding business contact so keep it all business with these people. They make so many excuses about the roach problem...its exhausting even communicating with the ppl in the office so I usually just go to the corporate office. They are polite though but dont either care or have a clue..idk what it is. My neighbors have roaches they just dont complain about it bc they just get used to it. I know ppl who moved and confirmed the roach problem. They arent willing to do much about it. The say they have weekly extermination but they dont tell you that you cant get it weekly yet they advertise it....so they mislead you (lack integrity). They also tell you bc we are near trees is why we have roach infestation...Overall I would like living here if it wasnt for the roaches. I plan to leave soon bc I just cant get used to it. They have an extremely high turnover too.ROACHES: See attached pic of roach in kitchen light fixture, also get used to them coming out of your bathroom drain and under the front door- carpets on the day of move in- scratch and dent appliances- old washer and dryers- Filthy, marked up and warped deckGreat Camden Excellent Living right...smh

Bravo to our Camden Ballantyne team!!On January 29th our community experienced a major water leak. Our maintenance guys immediately started to address the problem. As you are aware it takes numerous utilities to work together before leak can be discovered. Once located they were Johnny on the spot.Circumstances beyond their control but team members made a bad situation good. Staying on site until we had water again.Thank you for making an unavoidable issue pleasant.We are blessed to have you.

Dont be fooled by the location because its Ballantyne!! You can get a lot more bang for your buck elsewhere. I moved into this community as a transplant from upstate New York in December 2014. It was beautiful and the staff was awesome. Over the years, I have watched the number of employees in the leasing office come and go with all decency, tact and decorum leaving too. I have lived with an untreated mold and mildew problem for the better part of two and a half years or longer. I was told its my responsibility to wipe down the six very large windows in my apartment to avoid moisture build up that lead to the formation on the windows, which they WOULD NOT admit was mold. Additionally, mold was formed on my bathroom ceiling and I was further advised that I needed to shower with the exhaust fan running and my bathroom door open to avoid this from occurring. I was provided a small dehumidifier to dry out my apartment after having a giant bulky commercial sized dehumidifier in my master bathroom for a whole week. Today, I have mold forming on my master bedroom ceiling around the air duct vent, I suppose its also my responsibility to get up and wipe the ceilings too. This place is simply not worth the money!! It looks great on the outside but the physical structure is old and needs renovating. If you have neighbors above you, you will hear each and every step they take. My current neighbor has a large dog and I constantly hear thuds making it impossible to ignore at times. I had a mysterious goo seeping up from underneath my wooden floors that went unaddressed for nearly 6 months until I telephone Camdens Corporate Offices. The leasing office is completely unresponsive and unprofessional which is a direct reflection of poor management. Any concern raised with the previous property manager was always addressed in a timely manner. I have a litany of things gone wrong under the current management and staff, which precipitated me buying a house. After 4 years and 3 months as a Camden resident you would imagine the District manager would have the decency to accommodate my request to end this unhappy relationship 21 days early since Ive closed on my new home. This is just another display of Camdens reluctance to take accountability for their less than adequate service. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere before renting here.Its worth noting, anytime Ive had to deal with maintenance for routine service request theyve always been performed with care and quite professionally. Theyre a great group of guys!

This is by far one of the best apartment complexs I have lived at. The staff is always extremely helpful with any request I have. Maintenance is always quick and is happy to help with even the simplest of requests. I love the gym facilities and tennis court. I even renewed my lease and was able to save money earlier this year. I plan to be staying at Camden Ballantyne for awhile!

Great Location, fair market rates, Camden as a company is Great. Well organized, stable company over all. I will say the new Property Manager is WAY better then the last one. The last one was too yuppy and out of touch with us normal people. BUT the new manager is awesome.

Ive lived in a lot of apartment complexes over the years and Camden Ballantyne is by far the best. We loved everyone in the front office as they were knowledgable, responsive and friendly. Maintenance always responded quickly. Apartment 9625-i was private with ample amounts of storage and beautiful light. We were in love and completely disappointed in leaving. Highly recommend.

We have been living here for almost two years and absolutely love it. The entire staff, from the office personnel to the maintenance crew, are amazing. They are all very caring and very committed to the community and its residents. I highly recommended Camden Ballantyne. The location is great and the people are even better.

Ive lived in Camden Ballantyne for about 4 years and its always been a great experience. From the landscape, pool, gym and staff everything is top quality! The office, and maintenance staff always go above and beyond to resolve any issue and are always warm and friendly. My family and I love it here and are proud to call it home!

Beauty Is Truly Skin DeepI rented a unit here at Camden Ballantyne for my daughter for 6 months while she tried out a new job in the area. We went only 6 months as we knew the job would be short term.The Good:The complex (on the outside) was a perfect choice as it was close to new job. Her apartment had a great view and was close to the main office and I felt safe putting her here verses other apartment complexes we looked at.Maintenance did a fair job when called out to my unit but they had trouble getting our heating and cooling unit to work at times.The Bad:Safety Concerns:Other tenants there, drive way too fast in the parking areas and I almost had my dog ran over by two of idiots. I had complained about them with the front office with license numbers but they never slowed down. One morning there was a dead cat in my parking lot that someone had driven over. How fast to you have to be driving to kill a cat?There were cars that were getting broken into and one apartment unit had been broken into during December, so safety was becoming a concern.They say they do back ground checks on those that stay there but I saw some sketchy young men going in and out of nearby units that made me nervous and I carry a gun (I have a permit) on me at all times. As a former cop, I know drug dealers when I see them.The Apartment Units:While the apartment units look great, they are of an old design and poorly built. The walls are poorly insulated and the windows are aluminum with no energy rated glass, so with the high ceilings it is nearly impossible to keep the units comfortable (cool in the summer and warm in the winter) without going full dial for heating and cooling. I saw some ridicules heating and cooling bills in our short stay. With paying $1,600 a month for a two-bedroom two bath, I saw utility bills running another $400 a month on top of that. And our rent was going up $100 a month after our lease ran out (they always go up and never down for those living there).When we moved out, we were told that there should be no more fees due but would be contacted if there were such as touch up painting at max. 6 months later, I get a call from a collection agency saying I owed around $200 there. I made several attempts in phone calls and emails to find out why I owed anything and why this was turned over to a collection agency. I finally was able to speck to the new manager there (they go through a lot of office people here and another reason not to stay here) and he checked into account and found that there was a “Glitch in their System” (isn’t always the case) where they didn’t send me notification, I owed them anything. They had three emails and four cell phones and my home address but made no attempt to contact me on any of these. Just turned a $200 bill over for collections. That’s both Cheap and Poor Management of their end. I would have paid the bill as soon as I got it, if I had been contacted.There are a lot of better apartment complexes in the area and if you are paying your own way, then search for another location. If this is a short-term company sponsored stay, then you aren’t paying so why care?

Just renewed my lease for year 3. Kortney, Kelsey, and Faith definitely take a personal interest in making sure things run smoothly and everything is in working order as best they can. No service call ever takes more than 24 hours and they make sure the gym users use proper etiquette and wipe down machines too.

This long term renter is spoiled :)***************************************Cons: This Camden does not have a community space to have a small party. I think a basketball court would be awesome.Pros: Camden is located in walking distance to supermarkets, public transportation, doctors offices, bars, upscale restaurants, and a large business campus. The schools in the area are rated among the best in Charlotte.The grounds are very well kept, all of my maintenance tickets have been taken care of within 24 hours. Very dog friendly. The entire team has offered great customer service.There are community events and an active online community where residents can connect. In the summer the pool area was active with people grilling, music and fun.The apartments are decent sized with large closet space. The kitchen is very efficient, and some apartments have fireplaces.Camden is a bit expensive but convenience cost, no matter where you live.

So I moved into Camden Ballantyne In October 2014 and had just moved to the Charlotte area. Bianca was my leasing consultant and was absolutely fantastic. She gave me the grand tour and since we were new to Charlotte really helped make the transition flawless. We moved into a three bedroom which was fantastic and the perfect space for us. There were no tricks with Camden Ballantyne when it came to the actual apartment we moved into. Exactly what they showed us is what we received which can be very rare. We eventually decided to downsize and thats when we had our experience with Susanne who was absolutely phenomenal. At some point or another we have dealt with all of the staff and everyone treats you like family. I have never lived at a community that treats every person with so much respect. We have had very few maintenance items since the property is kept up so well. However when we have had issues the response time is impeccable. The community offers events for all ages and they are always a huge hit. Our first event was the Halloween Party and my daughter had such a blast! I would highly recommend this community to anyone looking for a new apartment home. The ladies are a true superstar team, Stephanie, Susanne, Bianca & Katie keep up the great work.

Bianca was so helpful with getting us situated a few months ago. Best deal in the Ballantyne area for a 2 br. apartment.The maintenance staff are very helpful, and every request so far has been taken care of within 24 hours. The Camden team also hosts a lot of fun community events.Salt water pool and exercise room are definitely added benefits.

I m staying in Camden Ballantyne for past 2 years... Monthly once you have to call maintenance to fix the room heating or other issue... During winter I ended up calling theice. And monthly once you will have water shut off due to pipe leakage. On Jan 28, 2020 we had a notification saying gas leak. On Jan 29 pipe broke and water shut off and we didnt get any update on eta in pipe fix. No water heating as there is no hot water.Note: I m glad you are fixing it. But after we suffer. I can attach your communication mail as well. Till 8 30 p.m (Jan 29) you guys dont know when it will be fixed. To all my email you guys responded no idea. Pizza is there. Water there. you managers report the status from home as we suffer in home without heating. More over I noticed water flooding from our community because of water leak at 7 am (Jan 29) itself. You guys started acting on this issue at 5 p.m

I toured the Ballantyne Apartments. The workers were friendly and well informed. The apartments I viewed were clean and updated. This is a large complex with a lot to offer.

I moved into Camden Ballantyne in May and have only great things to say about my experience. All of the staff is always very helpful and very friendly. The location is great and the community is very well maintained. Love living here!

I just moved in and couldnt have had an easier time with my move. The lady who got me my apartment helped me every step of the way and made me feel right at home which is ultimately why I moved here. The landscaping is beautiful and I love that I am so close to everything I need; shopping, restaurants, I-485, grocery, and outdoor walking trails. So far I have loved my experience and highly recommend to anyone looking for a place that really cares about their customer.

I am looking for an apartment in Ballantyne and decided to take a look at Camden because of their reputation. I walked in and was greeted by the girls in the office and was given a tour by Katy. She was helpful and knowledgeable and showed me the three bedroom town home. They have a really nice property with great amenities and cable and internet is included in the rent. Im not moving until the winter but Camden Ballantyne is definitely at the top of my list.

Amazing place to live, the staff is really friendly and kind.If you are looking for a peaceful place, this is a really good choice.

Positives: Ballantyne area is beautiful and convenient to everything. Maintenance staff polite and efficient, and the grounds are lovely. NEGATIVES: Extremely high priced; expect increases in your rent of hundreds of dollars every time your lease renews. No concessions made for renewing tenants, not so much as a carpet cleaning. This is an older community with tiny bathrooms and kitchens. Lots of old building problems like poor insulation, doors stick or that dont close properly, smoke alarms that malfunction frequently, quirky plumbing, no sound buffering between the apartments. Last summer it took them one whole MONTH to repair my air conditioning. Several neighbors complain about their AC issues as well. Most of the office staff have terrible customer service skills, rude, unresponsive and insulting to the point where I dread having to deal with them even for simple matters. Outdoor pest problems are frequent including red ant infestations, wasps nests and spiders which are especially bad on stairs and entrance ways. Poorly designed parking areas cause frequent accidents, dents, dings and problems getting blocked in. Expect hit and run damage, vandalism and car break-ins; that has happened to me twice.

Been living here for 3 months and its been great. I work a lot so safety and security are high concerns for me. Ive never felt uncomfortable returning home at 11pm. I cant say much about the staff because all my work requests, rent paying etc are done online. I love knowing that if I put in a request in the am itll be done within 24hr ( no guarantee but it always works out that way). The only drawback is no more package receiving, but Ill live.

This apartment takes rent from the tenants and creates policies which are easy for the staff and other venders and which creates inconvinience for tenants.They say that valet trash is included in the rent but actually no one collects trash and they always have a reason for not collecting them. Steve who is the manager always has an excuse only to blame the tenants.Steve,I dont see an option to reply to you so editing my comments. I am not sure where you got the community feeback back of imposing the rules but as far it goes all my neighbours and friends who I know from Camden are definitely not happy and it is more of a one sided rules that is being imposed.Also as I noticed people have stopped using the valet trash service itself so why not make it a paid service and remove it from the rent. So that it becomes a choice of the tenant whether to use the valet service or not.It is not good to bully people by making false statements.Regards,Sandeep

I am still pretty new to Camden Ballantyne. I am shocked at some of the reviews I read. A lot of them seem to be emotionally driven and written while the reviewer is upset over something that they feel is unfair to them. Im a firm believer that there are rules, restrictions, and regulations for the safety and fairness to the entire community. If you read a set of rules, be prepared to abide by those rules, and everyone will be happy.The community is very well kept and the staff is very friendly. I love the efforts made to keep the community connected. For the most part, everyone cleans up after their pets and keeps their areas very tidy. The only two things I would change about the community would be the size of the parking spots and the fact that you can hear your upstairs neighbors entirely too well. The size of the parking spots may be rendered but it would take a lot of time and money and the lack of noise insulation is probably due to the age of the buildings. I can literally hear my upstairs neighbors if they open and close a drawer. You can imagine that when the kids are running around or if theyre playing music how frustrating that can be.All together I am pretty happy with Camden and expect to enjoy my time here. I do wish that I didnt hear my neighbors every move, but hey - its apartment living and the buildings are older. People can find anything to complain about, but I like to see the silver lining, and that is that my children and I have a beautiful, safe place to call home, and friendly folks on the staff who are there to help make it happen the best they can.

Relocated to Charlotte over the last few months and the management staff, as well as, maintenance have provided prompt, professional, and friendly service. Very safe environment and wonder highly recommend!

The community is safe and all maintenance requests are attended to quickly! The leasing consultants are always there to help, which is always great!

My family and I have been living here for the past 10 mos. My kids love the office staff and the maint. staff is awesome! The fitness center is well equiped for a great workout.

Where I can begin, it was a terrible experience here at Camden Ballentyne. Do not be fooled about the 4-5 star ratings here, as there are severe downfalls here. We had multiple issues of our air conditioning system going out and took maintenance a few days just to come to our apartment to fix it, only for the system to go out again. We also had discoloration of water at least three different times. The light in the main living room area never worked, no matter how much maintenance would come out and fix it. Even the light fixture in the kitchen fell due to the A/C leaking water from condensation. On top of it all, my vehicle was stolen & the leasing office did nothing about it. The rent at this location is overpriced and not worth what you pay for. There are plenty of cheaper and better looking apartments in the Ballentyne area. DO NOT LIVE HERE!

The worst place to live. the staff is horrible, the inside of the home is made up on fake material to make it look good, but it will fall a part and you get charge. save your money and find you other place to live. i wish i knew that.

I have lived in Camden for several years. It used to be a great place to live until a new manager Steve Moore was hired. Things have been horrible since. Nothing gets fixed and more tenants are moving out. It has become a neighborhood of transients who stay for only a short time because the living conditions are subpar. My AC unit has been malfunctioning since late August. Either part of my townhome unit has AC while the other part has nothing or it competely shuts down, which Steve has personally witnessed. Hence, I received several discount on my rent. But I prefer AC in Charlottes summer heat, not a meager discount. Charlotte can be bruttally hot. Several repairmen from Camden and one outside company have been out a few times to fix my HVAC, but to no avail. Then Steve went ghost on me. It is now the end of October. We are still having some hot days. Not to mention, my HVAC is tied to my heating unit so it looks like a brutal winter with no or minimal heat. Sounds like fun for my asthmatic son. If my eldest son was not a senior, I would leave Camden immediately. My advice is to go elsewhere unless you enjoy heating, electrical, and a host of other issues that would not be properly addressed by Steve.

This community has severely dropped in customer service. The office is now entirely ran buy a new group, who have zero social skills. We have been loyal tenants for almost 7 years, never had complaints, never late on rent. We are in the process of closing on a new home, and were told to pay $2,000 to break our lease, or find someone to sublease our unit and we wouldnt have any fees. After finding someone to sublease, there is now all of the sudden a $350-$400 fee that has to be paid to even sublease. We honestly feel these ladies are just trying to nickel & dime someone for making a positive step in life. Basically, you can be a loyal tenant here for years, but as soon as you let them know you will be leaving, that history goes out the window, they just want your money. You will get your money, but you will also be blasted on every outlet I can find, as well as calling corporate. Renter beware, look elsewhere, this community is not worth the arrogant, uncaring, and snotty attitudes of the employees or the fight to leave. I fully expect a see your lease response lol

Renters beware! Not only is the water unsanitary and contaminated, but according to NC state law, this is considered unliveable conditions! The property doesn’t provide any safety whatsoever(there aren’t any security cameras nor security/police patrolling the property at night)and one of our vehicles were stolen! When you try to voice your concerns and decide to break your lease, the leasing office wants to charge you two months’ rent upfront, the upcoming months’ rent, a cleaning fee, and the prorated rent for the last month! They demand full payment within 10 days of cancellation or notice to vacate which isn’t stated anywhere in the lease! Please look elsewhere because this apartment complex wants to nickel and dime you for everything you have! Why would I pay for a month and partial month upfront if I still plan to be here within the last 60 days?! Why charge so much upfront due to me fearing for my life and my family’s life as well as contaminated water that is disgusting?!
