By far the worst experience i’ve ever had in a nail salon, this place is managed by unprofessional, rude con artists. I came in for an appointment and right away upon asking how much a regular set would be they said $35+, to which i said i didn’t want anything fancy i just wanted a normal set so that should be $35 right? She didn’t answer and instead followed with a series of questions about my nails, again i told her plain black nails and had to tell her repeatedly i didn’t want to pay the extra $20 for gel, i then was seated and tried to ask the woman working on my nails how much it would be and they said $55, i said again i didn’t want any of the extra stuff and she wouldn’t give me a clear answer and got started working on my nails. I’ve been doing my nails regularly for some time so there’s a normal amount of damage on my nails and told her they were sensitive and i’m not sure if she didn’t understand or what but she proceeded to butcher my nails, going hard with a drill and then it got even worse, she started using plastic nail tips to wedge inbetween and rip off the acrylic. This was extremely painful and i asked a couple times to just soak them off and she would let them soak for a minute or two before going back in with the plastic tip, this completely ripped my pinky nail in the middle of the nail bed. I was so uncomfortable and just needed to stop and i told her i was good and that i didn’t want the set anymore, she insisted on finishing the removal and then again brutally filed and buffed my sore nails including the one she ripped and i kept taking my hand away because it hurt so bad and she kept taking it back. If it’s not already obvious I’m not a confrontational person so i sat through all this, and then when i tried to leave another artist approached me and kept telling me it would be better for my nails to let her keep going and put gel polish on, this all just felt like a ploy to upsell and keep me as a customer, and i had also noticed other artists asking people if they wanted extra things that would add on to price and be insisting. I did wind up going back and sitting down and after a few more minutes of prep and buffing i couldn’t do it anymore and had to leave u was in so much pain, upon leaving they told me i had to pay for the service because we had taken up time, which would’ve been fine with me, but after not being told that that was an additional expense i said there was a misunderstanding and that i was very uncomfortable the whole time, had already tried to leave and had been pressured to stay for the treatment, they were so shady about telling you what your paying for and continuously up selling, the manager was at the counter and got very aggressive with me quickly when i questioned why they didn’t say this before and that i had been trying to leave, he raised his voice and just started repeating that i had taken then time and needed to pay and i didn’t argue about paying i just said that they should’ve told me and that i was very uncomfortable during the treatment. overall they were just rude, lazy, unprofessional and they clearly value trying to get you to pay as many extra fees possible over quality work, for your sake save yourself the trouble, money, and pain.

I went today for an acrylic set. I have not had fake nails for a while. The woman Mary was way too rough and cut me with that machine. I kept hoping my nails would look better when complete. This is not worth 60 bucks! My friend told me it look like I did it at home. I decided to give this place another chance sense last time I had a manicure and a week later all my real long nails broke off. They are using cheap products stay away! This is shameful! I will never return!

Best place for a spa day

The people at this ‘salon’ are the rudest, least professional people i’ve ever had to deal with while PAYING for a service. i’m not kidding when i say the woman i had SAWED into my finger while trying to file down my powder nails after i already told her repeatedly that i wanted them to be narrower. instead of listening to me when i showed two different pictures of what i want and reminding her during the session, she waited until she already had a few layers of the powder down. i promise i am not picky, but when i’m in physical pain to the point of tears and blood is starting to come out of my finger, i’d at least appreciate it if my nails came out how i wanted them to. realizing the “extra” work the woman seemed to think she was doing for me, i asked what the estimated price would be (they say $35+ so i figured it should be around that since i just wanted a solid color) and she said $45 for “changing my mind in the middle”. again, i don’t want to sound like i’m complaining, and i hardly ever write a review nevermind a bad one. when i tell you i got so angry i got acid reflux i’m not kidding. she had me in so much pain, mental and physical, that i didn’t even want her to finish the nails - which at this point were still chalky from the freshly applied powder. i asked if she could charge me the base fee since i was unhappy and didn’t want her to finish. clearly having no respect she looked at me like i was crazy. multiple employees began shaming me for wasting their time, and not wanting to seem ungrateful or disrespectful, i paid and left to get my nails done by a friend, which turned out 10x better anyways. never go here unless you like pain and want to throw away money.

Wonderful nail salon!!!!! I was a walk-in and I was greeted immediately and kindly. I was quickly shown to a technician. Mary did my nails and she did very skillful and beautiful job. Im thrilled with my nails and never going anywhere else!!!!!!

This place clearly doesn’t have the appropriate products for dip nail. Had the nerve to use Gel as a top coat, after I specifically told her NO I want a dip top coat; simply because I wanted the dip set (still used the gel top coat). I got my nails down yesterday, today is a new day and my nails are already chipping and the gel top coat is peeling off. What a JOKE! My nails were uneven and she was rushing. Worst nail service I have ever gotten $50 for a $10 worth of work. This place needs to either shut down or get it together. Never coming back to this place ever again I promise you that.

I wont be going back. My whole experience felt rushed and my technician had a terrible attitude. My nails werent allowed to finish drying properly and messed up almost as soon as I walked out of the store. Dont waste your time or money there.

It depends on who you get but each person always blurts out a random price. For instance today I requested an acrylic refill and before starting I asked the man at the front desk how much, he said $21 after my nail tech finished she said $24. Last time I requested a gel acrylic refill, first I was told $40, then $45 afterwards. She did an absolutely terrible job with the shape and paint. She didn’t reshape it properly, and the paint is extremely streaky as you can see below. Another time I got my eyebrows waxed and the lady was talking TO HERSELF over my face the entire time and applied makeup to my eyebrows without my permission to hide her mistakes.

I got a spa package and i was disappointed in the first half.. the massage was great but i feel like the girl that did my mani/ pedi and eyebrow wax rushed through it..all my nails fell off in a week very disappointed . Ive never have had that happen before.. especially because I paid a very large bill for this seevice for my birthday.

Kelly is amazing with gel manicures! From the first time I stepped foot in there til now, no one else touches my nails. It literally lasts the two weeks if not more. She takes her sweet time and never seems like she’s rushing to take the next customer. Ugh just love her:)

Ive gone here many times and never complained until now. I just received a VERY uneven refill to my acrylic set. It was a rather busy Saturday afternoon, but the woman doing my nails went REALLY fast, which I suppose is a plus... If I was happy with the result. WHICH I AM NOT. Some of my nails do not match each other in shape and length, and I can clearly tell where on my nail she didnt bother to slap the topcoat on. Looks like a child did it. Im going to look for other salons to go to because I QUIT!!

I’m not the one who writes reviews but I felt like my opinion had to be shared. Not only the person who was doing my nails was being so disrespectful and mean to me, but she also hurt me with one of the machines she was using. Every time I tried to express my concern about the job she was doing to my nails, she would shush me or roll her eyes while I was talking. Not only that, but she has to redo my nails multiple times because she kept messing it up. Overall experience was horrible, I would not recommend.

Great location if you are a commuter since its a close walk from Park Street and Downtown Crossing. The place is pretty small and it can get busy Fridays and Saturdays so I would call ahead on weekends. The staff is pleasant and they do a nice job on nails for a decent price.

Ok, let me say, best $51 I ever spent!!!! Mei/ may the nail technician was literally the best I’ve ever experienced in the past 5 years. She’s worth a trip to downtown for!! I couldn’t be happier with my results she listened and understood EXACTLY what I was looking for. HOWEVER! $28 for a pedicure was the worst pedicure I’ve ever gotten. Extremely rushed and not satisfied whatsoever. If you are looking for out of this world results I would highly recommend May! She was phenomenal

I work in downtown so its convenient but honestly im the kind of person thats willing to pay more for a nice experience... this place runs like a factory in and out it feels so rushed and not super friendly, there are like 15 women working and i seem to get stuck with the same woman that has cut and made my toes bleed twice... i dont think ill make my way back.

Experience was ok. I wouldn’t go back. Tech didn’t clean my nails off at the end. She rushed home. Nails could have been shaped better and the pedicure was below par. I can rub my feet with a pumice stone at home. Feet still have callouses, not worth the $28 price.

I had an amazing experience at Escape Nails and Spa. This has definitely been come my new go-to nail salon! The salon is very green and the techs are so friendly! My acrylic mani was quick and the nails came out beautiful!

Even if you had the lowest standards for a nail salon, Escape salon took that extra step and was all like, “Can we lower them? Challenge Accepted!” I just spent 28$ dollars on the worst acrylic refill in my 28 years of living, and the irony isn’t lost upon me. Every nail is a different length, different shape, each nail is way too thick & lumpy, the cuticles have paint all over them and already look loose at the bottom—although I got them done twenty minutes ago. Very slapdash job, that was quickest amount of time I’ve spent in a chair for a refill, and unfortunately my nails are a visual representation of that. Location is convenient--that’s the only pro I could come up with--but would never step foot in there again. It’s like an assault: My wallet has clearly been raped, and every time I’m forced to look at my nails, I am the one who has to live with the shame.

Worse service ever! I paid $46.00 to get a refill and Gel the gel color was coming off my nails even a new nail they replaced and two nails broke off me cleaning my stove. That happen 6 days after I went there, they were already close and I had to be at work the next morning. I had to take the nails off since I work at the front desk and my nails were looking gross. I went after work and they were so rude telling me I had to keep the nails on! Really? How am I supposed to show up to work with those disgusting nails? And they had the audacity to tell me they will do me A FAVOR by giving me a MANICURE that costs $12 seriously? Or a refund for $12. I opted for the ridiculous refund and they wanted to give me a GIFT CERTIFICATE!! Omg like I wanted anybody in there touching my nails! I argued until those thieves gave me $12 instead. I do not recommend this business if you can call it that!

Ive been going to get my eyebrows waxed with Johnny the owner since I was 15 and he had a salon in south boston I followed him like a loyal customer when he moved to downtown I am now 26 I am also 41 weeks pregnant, I want in to the salon and was greeted by Johnny at the desk, I tell him I want to get my lip and eyebrows waxed and he tells me to have a seat, several people come in after me and are taken immediately while I wait for johnny at the cash register for what is already 20 minutes I watched him cash maybe 9 customers out while patiently waiting for him to be ready for me, 10 more minutes pass and it clearly dawns on me that he cares more about the money then his loyal customers, I walk out after waiting for half hour, sadly it looks like Im going to be looking for a new eyebrow person

Ive always had a great experience whenever I go there. People are constantly coming in off the street wanting to use the bathroom to do drugs and unfortunately every time Ive been there its been a person of color. I have never been treated rude in this establishment and yes, I am Black.

I had a great first time experience in this nail salon, however, my experience today was anything but. I have gel nail polish all over my cuticles and the technician did a spotty at best job of painting my nails. She got nail polish on the tip of my thumb and instead of trying to efficiently remove it, she tried to cut it off with the nail clippers. I asked her not to several times before finally pulling my hand away. She also had no towel down and her work station was very dirty. Never again!

1. I went to the nail salon with very old acrylic nails that I wished to be taken off, and then have a new set applied. I did not want a fill in because I had already gotten 5 full in’s on that set, it was time for a brand new set.2. The nail technician refused to take off the old acrylics and apply a new set because she said they were still intact, and all I needed was a fill in.3. I was tired of going back and forth with her so I just agreed to another fill in. I also had one broken nail that needed replacing.4. The nail that she replaced was a lot thicker and wider than all my other nails.5. I originally had gel polish on my nails and wanted to get gel polish again (at every other nail salon that I’ve been to in Boston, if you come in with gel and get gel again... they do not charge you to take the gel polish that you came in with off) at this nail salon, they charged me to take off the gel nail polish and charged me again to get my nails painted with gel polish.6. So for a fill in and one nail fix, I paid $507. The next day I noticed that the shine on my nails was turning brown... I returned to the salon 2 days later.8. Instead of just apologizing and repainting my nails, they insisted that I must’ve done something. Asked if I had dye in my hair or used any cleaning products... eventually they repainted my nails for free.9. After getting my nails repainted by the same woman and with the same polish, the next day the brown layer was there again.10. Although this nail salon is in a very convenient location, I will NEVER return again.

They do not sanitize their tools. I watched as my nail lady wiped skin off the tool from the previous customer before using it on me. This place is dirty. The woman took over 2 hours to complete a simple dip manicure with tips added for length. I had to ask her multiple times to re-glue the tips down because they were falling off minutes after she glued them. As anyone couldve predicted, my nails started breaking off less than 12 hours after leaving the shop. Ridiculous

If I could give this place zero dollars I would. Worst nail experience Ive ever had. The place was dirty and had fruit flies. I didnt see them use a single instrument that didnt have pieces of skin on it from another person. My nails broke within 3 days, even though I had gotten gel. I am just all around disgusted with this establishment. I live across the street but I will never return here.

Ive been here a handful of times and have had a great pedicure every time! The last time I did a mani/pedi and I loved the experience. My nails came out beautifully and I was in and out in less than two hours without feeling like things were rushed.

I go here every two weeks for a gel manicure. Ive always gotten excellent service and my manicures last as long as I expect them to.

Disappointed. I saw other people getting neck massages and hand massages, but for some reason, I didnt rate. My cuticles are still rough and snaggy, and my hands are dry and tight. Nobody asked me whether I would have liked my nails shorter (I would have), but just dove right in, painted them, put me under the dryer, and never said another word to me. Too bad, because I live right around the corner from them, and would like to have become a regular customer - but I can do as well myself.

Some of the technicians in there are disrespectful toward colored pplmy last experience there pregnant woman did an awesome job on my full set, but that doesnt make up for asking for payment when I just sat down for my pedi. I wasnt going anywhere. I still had to dry my toes due to the shoes I was wearing. I didnt hear any of them ask a white woman for payment before they were done with any services. how does that make me feel? why would I go to a salon if I did not have any money?The salon manager was there and didnt say anything. Just proves that this prejudice toward colored people extends to management. Never going there again.Complete disrespect.

So The first time I came here it was an ok experience. I had a gel manicure at the time. The lady I went to was a bit aggressive while filing and she didnt kniw how to do french tip so someone else had to do it. The second time my nails had grown out so I wanted an overlay with arcylic, the gentleman that was there at the time did an excellent job. When I went back a month later he was gone, so one of the ladies did my nails. To make a long story short the lady made the aryclic to thin and I have had 5 broken nails in a week. I went back 3 times and after the final nail cracked, I refuse to go back again. Everybodys experience is different. Good luck
