What a great tour from Austin last week! We stopped in unannounced and he was welcoming and happy to help us! He was super professional and knowledgeable. The tour was great and the community looked good- lots of exterior improvements happening right now! Thank you so much Austin!
Do yourself a favor and live somewhere else, I signed a 10 month lease and within the first TWO months, the paint on the tubs started peeling and I put in multiple work orders to get it fixed only for them to never come and fix it and charge us $400 at the end of our lease for having to repaint the tub, deleting any records showing that we made those work orders so we had no way to prove they had been requested. The cabinets also came off the hinges multiple times while we were living there and let me not also mention how LONG it takes them to fix anything (2 weeks for even the simplest requests). My shower head would randomly fall off and hit me in the head when showering, something that maintenance also never resolved. Management will never answer the phone when you call, not to mention the people that work at the front office seemed untrained, never being able to answer any of our queries. The community pool, closed on Sundays, one of two days that residents would be most likely to even use it.
BEWARE before signing a lease at this place or any other Roscoe property management apartment complex. The amount of extra fees added as a surcharge per month is absurd. The front office never answers the phone. The apartment across from me had 12 officers with guns pointed breaking down the door and not a peep from the Ellie about this. In hindsight I should have sucked it up and payed a few hundred more a month to live LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE so if this review can help one person I’ve done my civic duty
I love my newly renovated apartment! I wont lie, it was a rocky start which honestly wasnt ALL Ellies fault, its an older complex so you cant expect perfection. My move in date ended up being pushed back about a week and a half, due to the renovations being delayed a bit, but in the end it worked out for the best. The staff(Kirby, Hunter, and Katie) were very helpful and did what they could to correct the situation. I also had a pipe bust the first day I was moving in when hooking up the washer, but I called the emergency phone number and maintenance was literally there right away and took care of everything. (This was around 9pm on a Tuesday or Wednesday?)I like that Ellie is tucked away and not right off of a main street.Anyways, I am loving living here so far! Thanks Ellie!
Beautiful property with great staff! It’s tucked away yet an ideal location to live only 15 mins away from downtown Austin! The newly renovated units are amazing and some offer nice walk in closets. Would definitely recommend to family and friends to live here!
I’ve lived at this community less than two months; and in that time, I have had the AC stop working (unrelated to the rotating power outages in the “record heat”), the washer and dryer and refrigerator were not hooked up upon move in; my roommate’s faucet in her bathroom literally shot out of the wall while she was showering; they had to replace her blinds the first week because the piece that closes the blinds was missing so her window was viewable by anyone outside for a week; one of the kitchen drawers completely fell apart and needed replacing and instead was literally glued back together after being missing for several days, and the water heater had a leak that the gas company found when turning on our service so they couldn’t turn it back on right away; after maintenance “fixed” the water heater, our kitchen sink hasn’t had adequate water pressure to even wash dishes. The dishwasher wasn’t properly bolted into the counter upon move in and the entire machine would fall forward when you opened the door. The top dead bolt does not lock. The ice machine still does not work. There are times when there are no parking spaces near my unit, and when I inquired about renting a carport, I was told that there are none available, despite there being multiple covered spots available each night. It’s hard to reach the front office during business hours; usually I have to be willing to dedicate 30 minutes or so to calling the office multiple times before getting an answer.I’m honestly tired of submitting maintenance requests but I will continue to do so until everything is functioning properly.I will add to the list as I can because this certainly isn’t the end of it since we are so new to the community.
ELLIE is a BEAUTIFUL property in a GREAT location. The pool area is small but beautiful and their clubhouse is beautifully decorated and functional. Package lockers were so convenient. And although I never used them, the gym has PELATON BIKES! My neighbors were great, I personally never had any noise complaints, valet trash pickup was a godsend. The units are beautiful for the prices, great water pressure, I had a huge washer and dryer in my unit - gorgeous and spacious balconies, and lots of greenery. Great little routes to go on walks as the complex is in a little neighborhood-like area.I would have absolutely re-signed my lease at Ellie however, these unprecedented times affected me personally and I was forced to relocate.Property management at Ellie, especially Brenda Walker, were kind and compassionate during my time at Ellie. They were always transparent with residents and ALWAYS tried their best to help residents. When we started to feel the effects of the pandemic they handled it gracefully and effectively, ensuring all residents were safe and had peace of mind - which was remarkable during a time of such uncertainty. If you are looking to move to this property, know that it comes with a great staff that truly cares about it’s residents. My pup and I will certainly miss our home at Ellie
Pros: available parking, dog park, no dog restrictions, staff was friendly and helpful.Cons: roaches everywhere (even followed us to our new house), packaging system, never knowing when youll have hot water.
Nicole is the most informative and kind leasing agent I have interacted with in my search for an apartment. Having financial difficulties in that past that I’m still recovering from, she was understanding and did not immediately refer me or write me off. I’m relocating from Houston as well, and their online system and prompt responses make inquisition and the seemingly future transition smooth and easy. After our interaction, I have no need to look any further and I can’t wait to (hopefully) become a member of the Ellie Apartments community. Great size space, nice amenities, and a reasonable price is what’s in store for you here! Thank you Nicole for answering all my questions and your professionalism. You let me explain my situation while allowing me to retain my dignity.
Just want to say Thank You to Ellie Apartments for responding quickly to maintenance requests. I’ve been a resident for almost 2 years and lived in two different units. The team and maintenance staff especially Ben and Brenda have been super great and helpful. Thank Y’all!
Nicole made it very easy to apply and was super patient with me. She answered all my questions and was quick to get back to me on email and phone. I really like that this place has yards for animals, a dog park, and has no weight or breed restrictions.Thank you Nicole for all your help!
Great price and great location to downtown! Office staff is great!
I was supposed to live here and am so glad I didn’t! I’ve been waiting on my $200 admin fee refund for over six weeks now and haven’t heard back from the manager Brenda Walker in over 3 weeks despite multiple emails and numerous leasing office phone calls to which I’m always told she’s in a meeting 🙃 I’ve also contacted RPM to no avail. It seems they have severe management issues, as indicated in other recent reviews... You can get a much larger, 2018-BUILT apartment in a better part of town with great amenities for the same price if you look hard enough.
I am living at Ellie Apartments in Austin TX and have only been here for a month and its been an irritating experience. Management doesnt get things fixed unless you physically go into the office and make yourself known. Maintenance will not get things done unless you go into the office or keep calling and calling. The management at Ellie did a poor job of informing me about where I could initially park when I first moved in and got towed on my first night and it took them over 3 weeks to give me my mailbox key, and the only reason they did was because I physically went into the office. I would not recommend living here. Things wont get fixed and management does not care about communication with their tenants. I have lived at other Roscoe properties before (Trio also in Austin) and their management was far superior to the people over here.
DO NOT DO IT. There are many other apartments that allow pets at relatively the same price.I moved here from across country and was unable to view the apartment I would be moving into prior to moving. They placed me and my roommate in a cockroach and millipede infested unit on the first floor. The plumbing broke when maintenance tried connecting my washer and dryer causing my apartment to flood. The towel hooks and shower rods were not installed. The blinds were broken on all windows.I complained tirelessly on end. It wasn’t until my 4th complaint of cockroaches and the creation of an extremely long email stating how poorly we were treated as tenants until they allowed us to transfer apartments. My car has been towed out of the parking lot with the required parking pass twice. The front office refused reimbursement.Excessive additional community charges. You must pay an approximately an additional $110 a month for community sewage/water/electric.It will take you at least 3-4 attempts to get a hold of somebody if you are calling in.Save yourself a few years on your life by not causing yourself the stress of living here.
Great hidden location, really helpful/friendly office and maintenance staff, and of course, the apartment itself includes nice features and is very clean and open. The parking isnt the greatest, but I didnt mind because what hurt is a slightly longer walk going to do me (a young, healthy person)?
I recently moved out of Ellie after my wife and I purchased our first home together. Given the state of the housing market in Austin, I thought Ellie was a steal of a price even when we moved in. We had looked at probably 6-8 apartment complexes, and Ellie managed to sit in the sweet spot of not being so far out of budget that we couldnt afford it and also provided good amenities and a very comfortable place to live for the year we were there. The office staff was great, they responded very quickly to every question I had. I also think they handled COVID procedures with a whole lot of class. For example, the prices they were offering for renewal were flat - Ive never seen that before. If you are looking for a solid apartment complex in a good location near central/east ATX, I recommend it. Small quibble - there were definitely times when I had to ask maintenance over at least twice and there were frequent delays to repairs over the year, so hopefully that can get sorted, but I still think they did an overall good job (thus the 5 star).
Ellie Apartments are hands down the best apartment complex I have ever stayed in and I have been in a few. I’m from Dallas where things are a lot cheaper but I’ve never had such great service. The staff there is not only friendly but beautiful too they could be supermodels. But that’s like the teaser part they are actually good at their jobs I was approved before I left the building only bad thing is that the manager is a LSU fan but this is really great, quiet, dog loving place to stay. The maintenance is fast and friendly too they replaced my stove because it had an equipment failure within a day or two and the neighbors are friendly too I can see myself staying here for a very long time.
Ive lived at Ellie for 8 years & just resigned my lease with the help of Brenda Walker! Shes A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! She is always super helpful with any issues that might arise in my apartment (as some issues are just inevitable!). Shes very knowledgeable and takes the time to get to know her residents! I appreciate her kindness!
Nothing but positive things to say! I have lived here for over 2 years and just renewed. The staff is always friendly and super helpful, the property is clean and beautiful and they have good sized yard options! I love living here!
THIS PLACE IS LIVABLE, YET THERE ARE SOME ISSUES!First of all, since I lived here almost a year I would say this complex have some good points like 1-calm and (nearly) friendly community 2-fair amenities such as the swimming pool, barbecue place, and a small gym 3-the AMAZING, responsible maintenance team they have 👍 5-the modern apartment style. 6-the everyday patrol and safety 👍NOW LET’S TALK ABOUT SOME OF THE ISSUES I EXPERIENCED BEING WITH ELLIE:1-the WORST parking lot system I’ve ever seen ever, unless you rent one of their parking lots for $35 per month, which sounds convenient but it’s just an excuse to get your money.2-the irresponsible mistake they do when you move in. For instance, they forgot to give a key for my mailbox and forced me to pay $35 for another key and the broken lock which was unacceptable 👎🏻.3-I had been treated with an attitude by the leasing office staff multiple times. The one named BRENDA WALKER (the red haired girl) has been lately rude towards me and speak over me with an attitude, which was unacceptable and made feel unsafe.OVERALL, this place is LIVABLE even though you need to be ready to pay a lot since it is an over budget complex and you might experience some of the issues I stated above 👆🏻.
I have lived here almost 4 years and have had 3 different floor plans. The apartments are large compared to a lot of others in the same price. The landscaping around the complex is nice, there are also good views of downtown from around the complex and some apartments. The complex seems to be super pet friendly. I have been lucky so far with neighbors. The community has some crime issues as with any complex, but for most part it seems safe and quiet on most nights. Maintenance is great. They usually come the same day or the next day. When my AC went out in the summer at 10pm they should up and had it fixed in an hour. They office staff has changed a lot over the years, but Brandon the assistant manager is always helpful and has been here since I moved in. He goes above and beyond to help out. All in all -its close to downtown, large floor plans, pet friendly, access to major roads and people seem friendly. The only downfall is the parking sometimes can be bad.
I’ve lived here for almost 2 years, the staff is amazing and very helpful, shout out to Raquel she made my experience here delightful, and I’ll never forget to mention Brenda, I kid you not she got my application and lease done in 24 hrs.Last but not least the manager Jenny, her smile lights up the room and you can tell the property is well managed.Keep up the good work everyone:)
I love my apartment -- the view and amenities are spectacular. The staff is super friendly and informative. The application and move in process is super simple. The community is beautiful, quiet and feels safe! I could not be more happy with my choice.
The staff has always helped me with whatever I need. They are very cheerful and polite. These apartments have spacious closets and patios. I love the beautiful floors and cabinets. Its very close to downtown and shopping centers and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
I did not end up leasing here because we renewed our current lease but I loved that they kept in touch with me. I started looking months before I was suppose to because we wanted a yard and that is so hard to find in this Austin market but they kept me informed about any new opportunities coming available! Theyve been extremely helpful!
The building was purchased by a new managing company over a year ago, and since theyve been doing everything possible to nickel and dime you. They even started charging you if you dont pick up packages within a few days from their new locker system. The actual staff at the complex is friendly for the most part, although they did seem to recently replace a lot of the front office staff so I cant say for the new ones. The maintenance people are also mostly friendly and helpful, but the overall construction is crappy.Good value for the size, but all of their remodeling is a bit of sham. Just thin aesthetic upgrades that cover up faulty construction underneath. Also, they dont take a deposit when you move in, and we just found out its basically so they can charge you like crazy when you move out.Our lease ended yesterday. We got a call this morning at 10:12 AM saying we needed to pay the remaining fees for cleaning by 12:30 PM or they would send it to a collection agency.Turns out they were charging about 600 dollars for 2 months of water and sewage, cleaning, and painting (300 for painting about 10 quarter sized spots on the wall that we had to cover with spacke which was slightly off color.)This wouldnt be so frustrating if it wasnt for their intimidation tactics, last minute demands, the fact that their website portal is down and not letting us pay, and the fact that there were tons of spots on the walls that were painted differently from when they did maintenance or construction which they never bothered to fix while we lived there, even after we reported it countless times.Again, the staff is mostly friendly, but they seem to not have the capacity to make decisions on their own. Everything is based off of corporate rules, and the managing company really tries to screw you.
You have a lot of choices in apartments on this side of town and I just signed my third lease. Ellie Apartments are older and that translates in to nice layouts, perfect size, huge closets, and enough parking for its residents. The amenities are nice...dog park, gas grills, assigned parking if you want it. If you are looking for relaxed living at a decent price, go no further.
Me and my husband have been living here for two years now never had any issues the front office has always been super helpful and sweet in our experience especially Brenda & Monica and anytime weve had maintenance issues theyve been quick to respond. They are a bit pricey but for the space and the upgrades you get totally worth it. I would definitely recommend.
The apartment staff here are super friendly and helpful! I am impressed that once I signed they were just as helpful as when I was still a possible resident. The grounds are well kept and the ammenities are great. Really like my apartment. The finishes are really nice.
I have lived in these apartments since the beginning of 2015. If it wasnt for Brenda in the front office, i dont know what i would have done. She is so professional, so kind and makes my living experience amazing. I love living at ellie apartments and love the new changes to management. Keep up the good work. 💗💗💗. Never leave us Brenda Walker!!
I am already regretting living here. Do not live here. The management is TERRIBLE. The maintenance takes FOREVER.It took weeks for the managers to even notice my maintenance request. It took another two weeks to schedule an appointment for my maintenance request.Worst part is I absolutely hate UNAUTHORIZED access in my home. It is a residents right, you do not have the authority to abuse that right. But Guess what, they tried to come into MY house that I PAY for, WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. You might not care but I absolutely do. And the fact that you completely violate my right is severely wrong. Also the management team does not communicate with each other either because I have had every manager in the office tell me something different. Get it together. This is our HOME and you NEED to care about the people.I have friends that live here and cannot stand this place. Yes the complex is completely renovated but they did it with COST as priority and you can tell. They did a CHEAP JOB with the flooring, the bath tub paint is completely cracked AGAIN (this happens no matter how many times they resurface), and the parking lot does not compensate for all the residents living here.I was warned about this complex but now Ive learned. I should have trusted my reference that the management here clearly doesnt care about its residents and is looking purely for profits.
Love this place!!!! so close to down town, huge apartment and the upgraded pool and office are nice!!!! office staff is super nice and helpful. answers my questions and gets things taken care of for me quickly. Jenni, Brenda, Jorge and Raquel ROCK!
This place is a gem, friendly staff and great location!
Seems like new management is making good efforts to get things right as well as go above and beyond to make up for the propertys old reputation.Great staff, good rates and promotions, helpful services, quiet and kind community, beautiful views, and convenient location... Very grateful!
We love our apartment, it’s been a few days only but so far so good. Kirby is the man. He helped us a lot. He deserves a raise! :)
Love living here. Staff is friendly and attentive. Property is sprawling, hilly, clean, quiet, and safe. The remodel was done well and I enjoy my place...so does my dog!
Love the Ellie apartments. Convenient to downtown Austin. Absolutely love the staff. Couldnt ask for a better place to live.
I moved in about a month ago an so far have had nothing but good experiences. Great layout for the price and super friendly office staff. Any problem I have they get it taken care of super-fast. Also helps they are pet friendly an I was able to keep my Pitbull and they play with him every time they see him. Nice to find a property that is not only acceptable of this breed but takes the time to get to know their residents pet as much as they know their residents.
Wow my friend use to live at this property years ago and I just returned to the property today for a tour. I can not believe the changes they have made since the new company took over. Tour with Brenda; she is very informative and an energizer bunny... lol.. We ended up getting the smaller 2 bedroom 2 bath which was solid plus she even threw in a free month of rent.
I just moved here I have had a great experience so far! Very quiet and calm property! Front desk very helpful
It took me forever to find an apartment that had everything I was looking for while staying within a budget I wanted! We are so close to lady bird lake, I have a mini yard attached to my unit for my puppy & they just renovated my apartment & finishes are gorgeous! No apartment community is perfect, but this one checked off everything on my must have list!
If I could give this apartment less stars, believe me, I would. Everything seemed great and then after it was a done deal and my papers were signed everything started going poorly. Two days before I moved into my unit they let me know that renovations on it werent done and I didnt have a unit to move into. After spending hours setting up all of my accounts and addresses for the unit we agreed on, I had to re-do everything for a new address entirely and was given a different unit type because it was all that was available. Oh, but I was told I could move into a more expensive unit if I wanted. Not shady at all... After I moved in, my air conditioning didnt work for several weeks. I have also had lots of issues with rent payments. Money is never taken out of accounts in a timely manner and they have removed my ability to pay rent by ACH. From now on, I will have to go in person to get a money order every time or pay an extremely steep convenience fee. I seriously regret coming to this apartment complex and will not be resigning here. Roscoe is a horrible company to deal with and living at Ellie has been extremely vexing since before I even moved in. Considering the price of rent here, you would hope that the level of service and care you receive from the management and leasing company would in someway reflect that. Apparently not. Do not move here.
Edit: 1/5/16---As a resident, have you had issues with packages being delivered here on time. I just spoke with the office and was told they are not responsible for any package delivered to them. It sounded to me that they were making it seem it was a courtesy for them to hold my package AS A RESIDENT.My latest issue comes because I had a package delivered as of a week ago today. Notifications from Amazon said it was delivered so I stopped by to pick it up but was told they dont have it. Odd, but okay. Two visits later and still no package in their office. Now this is very concerning, so I call the office and Monica happens to find the package. After talking with her the only thing I came out with is the company isnt responsible for the package, theres no system in place for packages coming and going from the office, and oh well if the package isnt here.Have any other resident had this issue? I have had packages go missing before and wonder if this is a common issue. Also, is it a regular thing with apartment complexes to not be responsible for tenants packages?
Looking to relocate to Austin and a friend referred me to this complex for a couple reasons...one, location and 2ndly the staff! Mia was the leasing agent and she was not only knowledgeable of the community but of Austin! If you’re looking for a new apartment RUN don’t walk here!!!! Ask for Mia, she will take great care of you!
Avoid Roscoe Properties and any location they have ever touched. The exact details of what I witnessed Roscoe Properties do has been removed from this review because Roscoe threatened me with legal action. While my statements can factually be proven true and are not libel I do not intend to let them waste my time. The fact they will resort to legal action to remove negative reviews should tell you all you need to know about Roscoe.I have no first hand experience with this property but I can speak about Roscoe as a company after 2 year of experience with them.
Do not live here!! The walls literally are not attached to the floors and this is purposeful. the whole apartment is a prime spot for pests such as flying ants, roaches, centipedes, fruit flies and more insects im yet to find. This apartment management does not care to do anything, they provide the cheapest services such a pest control and maintenance that do absolutely nothing. dont be deceived by how anything looks in the tour they give you, the cheap stainless steel falls apart eventually and knots to everything important break such as my oven, windows and sink. Theres absolutely no security here either. there are multiple break ins yearly. this is not a place to call home if youre looking for one
Its really painfully obvious how fake these reviews are...the last reviewer reviewed two properties with 5 stars at the same time and has not done anything else on their google account. I lived here very briefly because of the way management uses lies like this to make the complex seem much nicer than it is. Please dont be fooled like I was. I moved into an apartment with broken glass everywhere, disconnected fire alarms, a German roach infestation, and rust on every piece of metal in the apartment. When I complained that the apartment was uninhabitable, management entered without permission while I was out and took pictures of the trash bags full of clothes I had brought in to prove I I had moved in. I complained about the roach infestation several times, and management claimed pest control had walked the apartment and sent them a letter saying I didnt have a roach problem, and refused to make any further attempts to fix the issue...later, I caught pest control coming in in the afternoon with dozens of work orders about the infestation sent from the management. That explains my apartment always smelling strongly of pesticides, but doesnt explain why I saw several roaches every day. The complex has no maintenance workers. Parking is impossible, I was never able to park closer than 2 buildings away from my apartment. The office area features security doors with decorational keypads; they open whether you put in the right code, the wrong code, or no code at all. Appliances are very very poor quality. I probably have some pictures on my phone still that I should update this review with.
We were very surprised by our experience with Ellie, as our real estate agent had spoken very highly of the community, units, and overall environment. The woman who gave my parents a tour on September 9th was not very friendly and was a little snooty. She seemed extremely bored and disinterested, like she didnt want to be giving the tour and like she would rather be anywhere else. The unit they toured (with me on FaceTime) was not at all what I expressed an interest in, and the tour was essentially useless because of this. Its extremely difficult to imagine the layout of a one bedroom unit when youre being shown a 2 bedroom unit. Its not reasonable to show someone a 2 bedroom unit and say Well just imagine this as a one bedroom because the actual unit isnt available right now. Additionally, the finishings were not the same, and the floor was coming up in some spots in the unit we were shown. We were also told the unit is supposed to have a washer/dryer in unit, but the one I would be receiving if I chose to sign a lease wouldnt. As one of my must haves, this is extremely important. The tour agent never followed up with me and my family, and were the only community out of 5 who didnt. Im more than happy to take my business elsewhere, because its clear that at Ellie, the tenant is not the focus or the priority.
Ok the first two years were okay but the appliances started breaking, water heater burst after letting maintenance know a month before when it was leaking. They replaced it with a used one still trying to set it the setting. Stove burner heats rapidly, now doesnt heat right. Refrigerator was leaking water they replaced it with used one . Now after two years we have a roach problem after two years not having a problem. Some people dont clean up after their dogs Im not a dog owner but please clean your mess if u own a dog. My apartment is leaning have to put door stop under doors they will not stay open. After 9 pm your lucky if you find parking. Office staff is not friendly except for Brenda. Brenda has great customer service. Other office staff act like as if your bothering or something. Gates were taken off, now we have solicitors.
Management has definitely changed. Before I would not even want my enemies to think about leasing here but now, it is an awesome place to live!. A bit pricey but totally worth it!
Unfortunately, I have not had the best experience here at the Ellie. Ive now lived here for 5 months and have 11 more to go :( I didnt get to view my actual unit or layout until the day before my move -in. The property is beautiful and the location is awesome however the security of the property is NOT. My car has been broken into, my mail has been stolen out of my mailbox that Ive had to make several fraud claims/identity claims for, my bicycle was stolen from the public bike racks on property... Not once have I been contacted about any of these issues. My apartment is alright for the most part, besides the water being shut off multiple times throughout the 5 months that Ive lived here. There is definitely water issues/leaks in my building. Ive submitted several work orders regarding the minor things that need fixed (sink leaks, broken drawers, paint issues) and it has taken months for them to come out and when they do they are never prepared to fix anything... Im honestly just disappointed because I expected better from them especially for the price that I pay every month.
The office was never responsive or helpful. I just called with a concern and I was told the assistant was too busy with reports to speak with me. While living there I had a dog try and attack me in the parking lot. I also witnessed my neighbor’s dog be attacked by a different dog off leash. The dog bags were always empty. I never had a work order completed within 2 weeks of putting one in so most of the time we would have to repair things ourselves, such as our dishawasher which was consistently broken. We renewed for a second year and I realized 3 months into the new lease that they were charging us the incorrect amount of rent! When I brought it to their attention they said they sent us a renewal offer with the wrong amount. I informed them that the renewal lease we signed is the amount we agreed upon paying and had to force them to correct the mistake. The office staff changes consistently but each and every person is just as incompetent as the last.
Great living here, its been already 1.5 years and all the time you see improvements, thanks for your effort
Nice people now. Lived here for 3 yrs and in the end of last year placed an order for the oven/stove and dishwasher and BASICALLY WAS TOS EVERYTHING WORKING! AND NOT. SO we have put up wirh it. AC has been bad since April 14th and I know that cause that was the day I put my Daddy to rest. Had family over and no AIR!!!!
Where do I start? I lived at Ellie for about three months, and that was more than I could take. When I signed my lease, Jorge was super nice and helpful and said to email him at any time. I emailed him about a maintenance issue twice after that and he never replied. You HAVE to call the office if you want any attention. I submitted a form online once and it took them two weeks to even call me about it (the ice maker in my freezer wasnt working and was eventually replaced about a month later). I moved in on the 1st of the month, paid exactly what they told me to at the time I signed the lease, then left an eviction notice on my door on the 3rd. Not a late payment notice, no courtesy phone call, literally an EVICTION notice. I called and asked what was going on and Raquel (the office manager with an attitude problem) explained that I owed an additional $400 and that the notices are automatic. How is that even possible? You dont review these notices before you walk to the apartment and put it on the door? NO APOLOGY. She just said thats how they do it and asked if I had any other questions. The next problem I noticed were the bugs. You cannot turn your front porch light off. Bugs will congregate there at night because of the light and there is nothing you can do about it. Since these apartments are very old, the bugs get in, A LOT OF THEM. The pest control they use is either non-existent or ineffective. I emailed the office about the problem and never heard back. I then noticed that there was no screen door for the slider. I called them and they said they have a new policy in which they DO NOT PROVIDE SCREEN DOORS. I told them I was going to move out if they didnt give me a screen door, and the next day I had one. The lease is alarmingly easy to get out of. There is just a reletting fee of 85% of one months rent and you give 60 days notice. Thats it. They will also let you out of your lease if you buy a house, which is what I ended up doing. When I moved out, I turned in my keys a few days before the last day of the month because thats when I was off work to do it. Raquel forced me to pay the final amount of utilities owed that day, even though I had already paid rent through the end of the month, and said if I didnt she would send the $120 to a collection agency the next morning. Also keep in mind that these apartments have been renovated, but only surface level. They are very old and the walls are very thin. I was on the first floor and my upstairs neighbors had a child around the age of 5. I had to plan my sleeping schedule around his, because while he was awake I could hear every footstep of him running around the apartment. I also had a lot of mold in the tile shower, which can be common with old tubs like that. They should have re-caulked it before renting out the unit. I also didnt have a toilet paper holder when I moved in, and they installed that about a week after I moved in. Nothing but problems and extremely rude office staff.
Water is always out!! I guess they spent so much on remodeling that they couldn’t fix the pipes!!!Property is nice and quiet but smells so bad all over like the whole complex is the dog relief area i can’t even sit on my balcony because it smells so bad.
This place was good until Roscoes took over in 2016. Thats when the staff became very unprofessional. I had to put in work orders twice for maintenance to show up. Ive been getting late response. Good God the women in the front office have horrible attitudes. Im glad I moved outof that spot.
Fairly priced apartments, but be sure to look at the unit before moving in. Mine was under renovations when I signed the lease. When I moved in the foundation of my apartment is noticeably slanted. Many of the renovations were poorly done. The doors dont line up with the door frames and my bedroom door never fully shut. There is usually no parking after 8/9 pm. A cars window was smashed and broken in to one night right outside my apartment.Everyone in the office was very nice and helped answer my questions when I had them. Maintenance was also very helpful and came when I logged a request in the portal.
0 stars!!!We were complaining about our neighbor partying at 12-2 am in weekdays while her dogs were playing and barking at that time too besides the, they were having domestic fights late at night for over 6 months!!!! Our complaints never got responses and we even called the police once!Guess what! The same annoying neighbor is the manager of this property and her name is Jenni, It makes sense that ALL OUR MESSAGES HAVE BEEN IGNORED!She confronted me outside while I was vacuuming my car on a Sunday afternoon to tell me that I should stop talking about her in a really rude way! How UNPROFESSIONAL, I told her I have been complaining about it since the first day and her response was that it may be a language barrear and that I should learn how to speak ENGLISH!!!!!!That is really racist and shows no respect for people. We called the corporate office and we complained and all they said was that I threw a bucket with water to the manager and to another employee of the office (Brenda) also to her kid (which they were never there) also Brenda said that after that day I tried to break into her apartment. How is this happening? How is possible that The manager of the property, the same annoying neighbor brakes all the rules and nobody says anything, she and her employees here are so unprofessional, racist and they will make up ANYTHING so they don’t loose the fight. So at this point they made all those things up and then black mailed us that they won’t put charges of any of those things that I never did if we didn’t post anything on the internet but here I am! Standing for what they did.Roscoe properties are really bad and all they want is to defend their employees at all cost, they do not care about the customers treating them really poorly. We did not want to move, they made us move, all of this happened in a week! the only good thing is that they paid us $500 to move. So whose fault was that? Theirs of course! The funny thing about these reviews is that they keep answering them saying sorry like they don’t even know what happened so they look good to potential customers, but do not believe in them, the same person that is behind that screen telling you that they are so sorry for what happened is the same racist and pathological liar that had the problem with me, Jenni the same one that feels that she has the power to treat people how she wants. That was a nightmare and we won’t live in any of Roscoe properties anymore never again because we pay for a good living, we don’t deserve to be treated like that when we did nothing wrong but complaint for annoying neighbors.
Worse place to live in Austin. Crooks never fix any problems you have with apartment. Charge you for everything. Staff is rude and doesnt care about tenant. I rather get a room in prison
While I feel fortunate to no have any life circumstances occur while living here. Roscoe will look for the first opportune to throw you out on the street. Some of the most absurd harassment Ive ever seen. They dont care about the money. Their tactics go beyond profiting off it.They use a social rewards program that verifies you interacting and rating the property online. Most of these reviews are coming through this program when theyve only spent a month or two living here. I havent read a single negative review on here I would disagree with.
The first day we moved in our ac broke because when they were remodeling they never changed the filter. It was clogged with paint and dust. Our sink was also broken because they put in the bottom part in backwards. Ruined all our medicine and hair products. The tub started to peel from the bottom after 3 months( this happened the first lease as well) They take forever to come fix things and then when they do it, its half-assed. We had a pride flag up for less than 24 hrs before they called 2 of us to take it down due to it being a fire hazard there are multiple flags around the complex that have been up since before ours and are still up. If somebody complained about it atleast have the decency to be Honest. They remodeled the apartment above us the first 5 months we moved, doing construction till about 2 am. This is our second lease with them. The first time they were fine. This second time I wouldnt recommend them to anyone. If were paying luxury prices, why arent we getting luxury service?
Love this place. Signed the lease same day, didn’t even think twice about it.
Its a good place to live very quiet close to downtown and i35 well maintenence but the rent its to high i live there for two years no problems.
I have nothing but bad things to say about my experiences dealing with the management at Ellie apartments. While the actual building that I live in is lovely, any small thing that goes wrong or needs addressing goes ignored or is incompetently handled by this team. The office staff seems to exist only to make excuses and blame residents for any questions or concerns. They are truly the most rude and unhelpful people I have ever dealt with in my decades of apartment living. Every work order is done with the barest minimum of effort and quality, every issue that needs to be addressed is handled with all the professionalism and attention to detail of a lazy teenager just trying to do the least amount of work possible. Serious issues of safety and quality of life are ignored, leaving residents vulnerable to theft, assaults, and injury--all of which have occurred in the two years I have lived here and could have been prevented if the management made the barest of efforts to keep the property safe and functional. No accommodations are made for visitors or residents with disabilities, which is a violation of legal protections under the ADA. The Draconian parking policy exists only to line the pockets of Roscoe and the towing company, and somehow garbage and broken glass can linger in the parking lot for months, and yet the second a visitors car is parked outside of the very few designated spaces, it is towed immediately. I could easily write pages of complaints about the dangerously irresponsible behaviors from this management team, but the point is--do not live here, do not believe the sales pitch that they are in any way helpful or concerned about residents quality of life, and absolutely take your money elsewhere and live somewhere that has a competent and concerned management team.*update: And the number listed from management below is for a completely different complex, The Edition, who of course could not help me at all, nor direct me to anyone who could.
***EDIT*** To update its been a week and they still have not called me like they said. Just another hollow promise from a Roscoe property. So I will start off that I did not end up signing my lease and moving here. This is my experience viewing the property and applying. I want anyone who is thinking of moving here to have an idea of what you may go through. My initial visit was great. They gave me free coffee, showed me the pool, common areas and gym. Then we viewed their model unit which was perfect. Great layout, good price, exactly what we were looking for. This is when issue #1 happened. We asked the woman who showed us the unit that once we applied and were approved the unit would be held for us and if for some reason we couldnt move in before our move date theyd just keep our admin and app fee and we could go our separate ways. She said straight up, without a hesitation, YES.So we applied that week and paid our fees and were approved. Our move-in date was set for June 11th I believe, about seven weeks from when we applied and were approved. This is when issue #2 happened.I got a call asking us why we had not signed our lease. I said I hadnt gotten one and also said I have never had to sign a lease before the day I moved in. Not to mention you said straight to my and my roommate that this was not the case. She said oh that was a misunderstanding. Typical, get told one thing to bring you in and then change everything after youve applied. I saw it mentioned in other reviews so Im not alone.I said okay well I have not received a lease and I want to view the unit before I sign the lease. She said thats not possible because the unit wont be able to be viewed until the day I move in, AND I had one week to sign the lease or they would release the unit. They want to lock you into a lease two months before you have to move in.This is some of the sketchiest stuff Ive ever gone through when applying for an apartment.Who knows what else could happen after moving in. So I decided it was in my best interest to move elsewhere. So I did.TLDR: Be aware they may tell you one thing to get you to apply and then after that tell you something completely different after youve given them money.Be aware once you apply you will have to sign your lease in a week after that regardless of move-in date. So if something comes up before moving in youre screwed. You have to pay 1000+ dollars to get our of your lease. My thoughts are avoid this place. Its owned by Roscoe and Ive had nothing but bad experiences with their properties having lives in them before.
Where should I start on this apartment complex… First off, management is horrible and the management company is worse! They never respond to anything and they claim they never get emails that you send. Everything is fine until you move in… then they want nothing to do with you! When we moved in, the apartment wasn’t even ready. The bathtub was pure black and the maintenance told me that the manager didn’t want to pay the money to resurface it. It took them 2 months to repair anything in the apartment. In addition to this, the maintenance guys left our door unlocked, left nails for the dog to eat and the AC didn’t work the whole time we were there. There is never any parking here because they let anyone park here and the gates were always breaking. In addition to this, because they were too cheap to replace a broken appliance, they put another dishwasher with roaches in our unit and gave our unit Roaches. This place is by far the worst “quality” that I have ever had. The price was good but you get what you pay for with management. The management staff is uneducated and very rude. I wouldn’t recommend anyone living here if you value quality living.
My lease is going to end soon, and if I was staying in the area, I would stay here
Office staff great, maintenance great! No compaints! Love loving here.
It was alright, at best.
Worst move in experience ever. Just got keys to our new apartment today after a whole mess of sketchy activity from the front office. Only to move into an apartment that is completely different from what we were told and shown. The supposed updated appliances that should only be a year old have rust on the inside of them clear product models from the 90s. Countertops and flooring are a complete different color and dont trust the 9 foot ceilings they show you in the model. Im not even 6 foot tall and can touch the ceilings in the bedroom, bathroom as well as the kitchen. Makes the apartment seem so tiny vs the spacious ceilings we were shown. Dont sign here unless you walk the unit you will actually be moving into.Staff needs to be more informed on the apartments they are selling so they do not give false information out.
No one told me there was a three inche difference in the foundation before I moved in. So I was constantly leaning when standing and nothing would hang on the walls straight because the entire apartment was slanted. All the base boards had water damage. And had been cocked over and over again. The doors wouldnt stay open bc of the slanted floor. All of the wood around the sink was swollen with water damage and certainly had mold. But dont worry they are ripping out the carpet and putting in new counters after I moved out.Input wall paper out full well knowing I would pay at the end of my lease.I moved to Seattle. I got an email about the bill.I explained that it would take over a week 5 to 7 business days for a check or money order to reach them from Seattle. They didnt even wait a week before sending it to collection and affecting my credit.Great location. Management was generally helpful. Repairs were sub par.Now renovated but bauxite fresh paint so still has old water and foundation issues depending on apartment. I was in building 7.Oh and the water bills are ridiculously high. Double what I paid anywhere else in Austin in 6 years for a one bedroom.
Ever since I moved into these apartments I have been seen a lot of thing that are not right outside my apartment and inside, every time I would talk to the office staff they always say they don’t know. To be honest I really don’t like living here to be honest I fell like people (staff, and maintenance) have been inside my apartment because there have been things actually missing and things moved the people in the office say it’s just me losing things and moving thing, also they don’t call when they are about to enter your apartment when I have stated several times to them and have written documents that state they must contact me before entering my apartment. I hate these apartment, I don’t feel safe and on top of that I have 2 daughters.. also we have told maintenance about our floor being uneven and sinking there is many safety issues going on and I am being asked to fill out an work form without anybody coming to have a look at the seriousness of the matter. It’s sad that I’m having to beg and contact and also come out my pocket to replace and fix repairments that I should have provided. I do not recommend anyone that these apartments are what they make it seem like there are, please look into these apartments before you decide it’s safe and that your living is in good condition for yourself and most of all if you have children. Safety is a great issue when you live to feel comfortable.
The apartments are beautiful since they are doing a remodel on every unit as they come available. The staff is super friendly. The complex is very dog friendly (theres poop everywhere though which I think is universal at most Apartments). I am concerned theyre about to be overpriced once a majority of the units get renovated. I would consider a five star but most of the times Ive made a maintenance request, its taken weeks (which I assume is because theyre taking care of emergencies first like they did when my AC went out). The buildings are getting close to 20 years old and I think there are some Foundation issues with some of the units as well causing some slanted floors, but unless you are trying to keep a ball on the floor in one place at all times, I doubt youll notice that much. I hope to renew but well see what theyre asking for, especially since I signed my lease during the most expensive months of the year.
We are paying over 1200 for a apartment that hasnt been renovated in over 3 years, has cracks on the walls and kitchen floor, called to get fixed and they offer to transfer us to a newly renovated place cost 3 dollars cheaper then what im paying for a older unit, they dont want to paint the walls or fix the kitchen floor till we move. we had asked for a deduction in rent since they dont want to do the work and we still have to stay in the unit over a month, apparently they spoke to the manager and regional manager about this and nothing is going to be done. For all the upgrades to the buildings and office area they dont want to fix the actual apartments
Its a wonderful apartment complex.
Great management and the location is perfect!
So Ive been living in this apartment since janurary, and while the upgrades are beautiful and the community is goodthe biggest problem for me is, I have to put in more maintenance request here then I have ever in any place. First my AC united stops working. Then I get these gigantic water cockroaches constantly. Then my toilet runs. My AC breaks agin. Then it breaks so bad that it leaked and destroyed an entire closet. And all they do is vacuum up water and leave damage. They have ass all repairs. I have had to call every day practically for help and its like pulling teeth.
Extremely predatory parking enforcement. Dont count on having any friends or family over for more than 10 minutes if they want to park. peeling paint, failing water heaters, 2 dumpsters for 12 buildings worth of trash. Im sure theres more but Im too busy packing to get out of this dump.
Very nice, modern apartments with fast maintenance.
The place is nice but when you lease the next year rent goes up to 1350. I lived in apt 813 and when I left as of 4/1/14 the water heater had leaked and started creating mold. The issue I have is when I called twice to see when my lease was up they had told me 4/1/2014 which was confusing because I moved in on 3/26/13. I had called again they told me the same thing so on 4/1/2014 I moved out. Then a bill for prorated rent for the 1350 for 8 days was 124. 48. After they had told me that I had to stay till the 4/1/2014. I had already had my house for a month and a half. The gate never worked so it was not a gated Community . The water bill for me and my 2 year old son who mind you I only have every other week was 95.00 not just one month every month it started at 45.00 and creeped its way up. The maintinance was helpful. For anyone who moves into 813 check by the water heater closet and the wall that joins the living room. If there is a spot where they had repaired but looks like the just painted over it you need to check for mold. When I first moved in me and my son got really sick and couldnt figure out why. Now I think I know. Be cautious of 813 specially with little children. You can find a house for the price of these apartments. ALSO parking is so bad I had to park on the street. My family came to visit and had to park way way up the hill because we didnt want anything to get broken into. People have to go through holes in the fence to park close to their apartment. But just as people that are suppose to be in the complex go though those holes, so can people whos intent to do harm. Hope this helps out anybody and everybody. I would also put a 0 if possible.
I have been a resident here for 3 years now. I will be moving in a couple of months due to lifestyle change/married/moving closer to work. I have enjoyed living here. The maintenance personnel are always quick. I suppose Ive enjoyed it more than others because I choose to walk/video workout & not use the gym... I dont swim often.. (the pool is small as well). My apt also has a lean to it. Lol... Ive become used to it. I noticed it the 1st day, could have requested a change but I loved my location by, what I called, my little creek. It wasnt bad & I almost signed for another year. Mission Hills has improved parking drastically with now new parking permits/guest parking location. This helped majorly. I would like it if theyd add guest parking to the phase II location as well. The water bill.. well, that will be my only con for this complex. Yes, they charge per person, being single, that wasnt a concern for me, but I felt bad for those it impacted. The dumpster is far.. but hey.. I can use the exercise sometimes. My car was broken into once.. very sad but that will happen everywhere. I now park closer to lighting. I attended a meeting with APD that the apts were having & stated my concerns regarding more lighting. As I prepare to move, I noticed new pool furniture, etc. Changes are happening, hopefully for the better. Ive never experienced any other problems, that dont normally come with Apt. living. I am an Austinite & have never heard of Mission Hills. These past 3 years were quaint for me. And I loved my large apt for a small $$$. Overall... it was nice living here. I dont ever write reviews... but I felt this was deserved. Thanks Mission Hills. Maxine
Super cute with unique floor plans.
Friend moved in here, nice place!
Parking is bad. Talked to some people there, and found out they tow vehicles from there quite often. I think it is a money making racket.
Paul Z throws a Xmas eve party at his crib at Ellies. Its always a blast.I wish there were arrows pointing us in the direction of building numbers. I always get lost.
Take for every to fix something the just take care about charging you money
TERRIBLE!! Don’t fall for the show. The office staff is awful!!
Not the best, my apartment was still trashed the day I had to move in.
I dont live here only visited but the apartments are nice, the community is clean, good location but the visitor parking is awful.
Like Like Like and convient and close to many things I do daily.
They are good for small family
Parking was horrible. Nice buildings
Worst apartment complex ever I lived here for 6 months and had to terminate my lease apartment was infested with roaches maintenance wouldnt come fix my hot water it was hot out a whole week finally when I did reach someone in the office they told me that the apartment was inspected before I moved in but they would send pest control out guess what no pest control final straw was when someone broke into my car in broad daylight I asked around if anyone else had been burglarized come to find out the apt is full of thugs go fiver I would advise anyone not to move here although the exterior of the apt is very nice what a cover up!
Very good place to live
Yep Ive never been there.
While looking for an apartment these did not appeal to me.
Nice apartments.
Black Mold everywhere
