Ive been renting for approx. 15 years across the United States and abroad. I have never before dealt with such a courteous, helpful and effective management team! Im actually blown away by the service and the care Ive received here. The maintenance team has also been fantastic, friendly and timely whenever I needed them.

Griffis North Austin has been great to work with we needed an apartment last minute and I mean we applied overnight and wanted to move in the next day! Mariam was amazing she got everything finalized for us so we could move in that same day! They have nice units that are updated we love having the vinyl plank in the main living areas and wet areas! Also they allow up to 3 animals if on the 1st floor which is amazing as many complexes only allow up to 2. Community is pretty well kept and clean, unfortunately amenities have limited hours due to Covid-19 but they are still available.

Pros:The maintenance team is extremely responsive. They will inform you before and after they complete any work orders. All maintenance workers are very friendly and professional. The interiors looks solid except for cheap paint works. My apartment has all sorts of amenities that makes my life easier.Cons:All the windows have 0 sound insulation. If you live in an apartment faces the parking lot, you will constantly hear people slamming their doors, flooring their gas, etc.FYI, Their refrigerator is also seems louder than normal refrigerators.

Perhaps because my last apartment was so awful maybe thats why I love Griffia North Austin so much. Tho I do believe even if my last place was good, this place just blows it out of the water. We love the Floorplan, the complex itself, and the staff has been so welcoming and nice. Its only been about 2 months since we moved in but we plan to be here for a while with how happy we are with it

Ive been living at Griffis since April of 2020 and have had a great experience, honestly the best place Ive lived in Austin so far. We broke our lease at a different complex prior to the first COVID wave, and were able to find a great apartment at Griffis within no time thanks to Lisa and the rest of the office team. We were able to take a virtual/photo tour on the website and were able to move in after the deposits and other paperwork was taken care of.Whats to see:- Quiet area, located far enough up North to be away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but squeezed in between MoPac and 35 so youre not too far from where you need to go. Not a bad drive for any grad students in the area looking for somewhere cheaper than downtown/UT area without a ridiculous drive.- Super clean apartments, new furnishings on most if not all units- Nest A/C controls (you can essentially control your A/C from your phone if you want), no issues with plumbing or electricity- The maintenance team are superstars. Diego and the rest of the guys keep the complex up to date, go to dog park daily and playground to clean up the common areas.- Amenities are great -- pool, volleyball court, gym, and a dog park thats definitely big enough if youre looking to move to an apartment.- Very accommodating for anyone with differential needs or support animals. There arent really any cons to living here Id say. Some of the locals dont clean up after their pets but thats everywhere. Parking has never been an issue for me - the app is very straightforward, and we are able to have our guests come in as long as their CAR (not the person necessarily) is registered. Towing company is great at booting out people taking up residential spots, and leasing office is very responsive to inquiries and work requests. We love it here at Griffis! Thank you to Lisa and the team again for all your hard work!

My wife and I recently moved into this apartment complex and we have found the staff to be very helpful and diligent with us, especially Ms. Lauren Norden. The apartment complex is well maintained and conveniently located to all Austin and the surrounding suburbs have to offer. We highly recommend this apartment complex to all that wish to live in a beautiful and peaceful place.Lastly, the staff keeps all its residents well informed on important issues within the complex on a daily basis.

Griffis North Austin are the best apartments I have ever lived in. I am in love with my unit, it’s spacious, renovated and has an attached garage. The landscaping is beautiful, and community is quiet. The management is consistently friendly and helpful, maintenance responds to issues quickly. Tomas one of the techs was a life saver when I called regarding an emergency at 2am.Parking has never been an issue for me or my guests. They have an app where you register your guests; its super easy to use. This place is a paradise for dog lovers. My dog and I are so trilled that Griffis has so many amenities for dogs; Dog Park, Dog wash and proximity to Walnut Creek Park.Overall my stay at Griffis North Austin has been phenomenal. Id recommend living in a Griffis community to friends and family.

Living at Griffis North has been a breeze. We have not had anything negative to say about the staff, apartment, maintenance or the amenities. We love how accommodating the complex is to dogs, they even have a really nice pet wash station that we use all the time. Anytime we have a maintenance issue it is handled very efficiently, although we have had very few requests. The only negatives I would have is that sometimes the package locker is messed up but I really cant complain that much because technology can never be trusted, plus the issue is always resolved quickly. We hope that the rent does not increase here so that we can stay here! We love it here!

The time I lived at Griffis was nothing short of exceptional! Our unit was newly renovated and nothing short of perfection. Working in downtown Austin I was nervous about the commute, but it really wasnt that bad, and the combination of the location next to the Domain, Price, and Luxury style apartments it was 100% the right decision! Hannah in the front office is so helpful and genuinely cares about all of the residents, as well as all of the other office staff. All I can say is live here!

Please consider taking your finances to pay for the apartment home experience where they are actually committed to that experience based on what they are charging you. This place charges a premium and lists over a dozen amenities as part of that cost, ALL OF WHICH ARE CLOSED. June 26, New Executive Orders Issued by the governor allowing pools / waterparks to continue operating at 50% capacity. Last email communications from management saying the amenities would be open VERY SOON received June 12th, proceeded by communications June 1 saying we would see a thoughtful reopening. Keep in mind pools have been allowed to be open in Texas since EARLY MAY. Thats either the slowest thought process in the entire world or this isnt about being thoughtful its about MONEY and not having to upkeep anything while its closed.

I lived here from 2015-2016, and I enjoyed my stay. I did go through a couple of different management changes, and it all went pretty well. Paying rent was easy, I had an in-unit washer and dryer, the pool was nice, and I overall liked living here. Maintenance did have to come in and fix the same issue a couple of times, but it ultimately got fixed and I didnt have too many issues. I would live here again if it wasnt so expensive (3 years ago, I was paying $900 a month for a 1 bedroom, in-unit washer and dryer) however, the apartment wasnt updated. Overall, still nice.

I don’t recommend unless you want to be lied to and stolen from.Ruined by them lying to me about documenting the stains the previous tenant made. Then, made outrageous claim that the previous tenant stains, that were there when I moved in, were now pet stains and ripped up the entire carpet up and charged me for it. All lies.Once I brought it up, Lisa then ignores me for weeks. They have no intention on being honest. Just another lie. I thought the reviews were just one offs. They are not. Seems they make a habit of outrageous move out charges. They take the risk you won’t sue them. There’s nothing secure about it either. Everyone knows the gate code. It’s #1231 if you’re interested. So, people often break into cars and vandalize. They have a “security officer” that can only be called, and drives the lot at night maybe once per week. One round. So he literally spends 5 minutes at most “protecting”.Besides, after move in they charge you fees not outlined in the lease including environmental fees. The monthly charges ends up being $90+ For a one bedroom. Their sewer alone is $26. Think about that. Almost 400 units and each unit pays more than that as I had a ONE bedroom for $26. They refuse to acknowledge they didn’t outline those charges in office or in the lease. They told me those charges for a one bedroom is $40 I proved it to them they lied. It was written down by them. Their answer? “Oops we should talk to the person who lied to you” They won’t actually prove to you it’s accurate. They send you to a 3rd party billing who also refused to provide bills from the city as proof. There not anywhere near enough parking spaces. They do not monitor who takes them. Cars will sit for months, not moving taking up the little spaces left. All in an effort for you to have to pay for parking.Just stay away.

Predatory towing allowed and ENFORCED! They tow residents and their guests literally all night long the parking lot is being monitored and patrolled so they can tow for their monetary gain and nothing else. The walls are paper thin. Management is rude, condescending, shady and unresponsive. If I could leave -5 stars I would. Not only do I not want to live here, I wouldnt even want to visit here. If youre hard of hearing, you dont own a car that you need park, you dont have friends to invite over that have cars that need to be parked, you dont smoke or have friends that smoke (on patio isnt allowed) no dogs or children then this might be a good place for you. Cons:-Limited Parking === They will tell you before signing the lease that they have enough open parking. After you move-in and you realize parking a big head ache here and go to the leasing office, they will tell, you have the option to rent covered parking.Management === Once I went to leasing office Not to complain but as a resident with some suggestions what I was observing in other communities and which can be implemented there to tackle the parking issue. The lady who spoke to me simple denied this is not possible, you can rent covered parking if you are facing issue. I was telling her to pass it to the decision making people there but from the response I got from her, I doubt she might have communicated the same to higher management.Moving Out charges === NO MOVE OUT INSPECTION. They ownt tell you what are they going to charge you in the final bill. They knowingly dont do move-out inspection so that they can collect money for things which you would have never thought of.Valet Trash Charges === You are forced to pay, doesnt matter u use it or not.Thin roofs === So much noise from upstairs. I have recorded the noise many times just to make the leasing office believe that Im not able to sleep at night. I doubt the leasing office gives any strong warning to such residents because I had to deal with that till end even after complaining many times. I have a colleague in Griffis neighborhood he once said the same to me.Pros:-Good looking houses, well maintained community, maintenance work gets done on time. There are many other communities at similar price in that area. Dont make a mistake by ignoring the online reviews(like I had done) and just choosing based on Good looking houses, well maintained community and amenities.

EDIT: I read through the negative reviews below and agreed with all of them as a tenant. As a result, I decided to change my review from 2 stars to 1 star.Worst apartment Ive lived in by far. When I first moved in, the apartment was managed by another company. Once sold, I noticed an almost immediate drop in the quality of service. My most recent maintenance requests took 2 months to fill (1 of which I just paid for by myself after a month). They also entered by apartment without permission while my girlfriend slept in the bedroom. I had noted that they were not allowed in unless they called and they entered anyway. My neighbors have told me that this is common. The pool is rarely open, the place is constantly being renovated, the improvements make no sense, the gate is always stuck or broken, and the rent just keeps going up. I knew about 10 of my neighbors when I moved here. Since Griffis took over, all of them have left. 2 of them had been here for years.Definitely not worth your money. You might think the price means quality, but youd be wrong. Avoid Griffis, if you can.

Its a really nice apartment complex, right next to walnut creek trail good location, amenities are great the gym is really nice, pool is always kind of dirty, and the hot tub seems to always be broken, they have all the appliances included with washer and dryer, rooms are decent sizes, the maintenance crew are fantastic, the only thing that sucks that I know people hate also is parking, sometimes I have to park my car outside the gate and I hate that. They need to implement some sort of parking sticker. But if it wasnt for that they would get five stars now they have to settle for four! 🙃

Theres a dog park and a dog wash station (its a little bit of a walk for us, but the property is nice). They are working on renovations in the courtyard area - but I dont hear noise from it (I work from home) and if it makes the property look better than thats great. The amenities are great- the pool has luxury hotel vibes and the leasing office is very clean and well decorated. It is one of the only gated apartment complexes on the street and I feel very safe here. All of the staff in the leasing office are GREAT, super friendly and helpful even when you can tell theyre busy/tired/its the end of the day. There is covered parking you can rent. The walls are well insulated so I never hear my neighbors! The maintenance men are all required to wear uniforms and complete the job quickly and efficiently. You can even leave the maintenance men a review for their bosses to see.My apartment has crown molding and new carpet and the master bedroom is large compared to apartments in the area. Overall, this apartment complex is arguably the nicest on the street and very comfortable. Only con is that there is a non-refundable pet fee in addition to the pet deposit and monthly pet fee but there is a large dog park.

I have been living at Griffis for 6 months now. I think its a great apartment for the price. I love the location; close to HEB, Domain and main highways. And the walnut creek park is right next the to apt complex so it is so easy to go for a walk with my dog. Gym is pretty nice although it is under construction now. And I love our pool! It is clean and well decorated so its really nice to relax at the pool. However the dog park is kind of useless since there are so many mosquitoes so no one really wants to go there.. The staff is very friendly and nice too, and they took care of my service request very quickly so far. It seems like there was some car break-in recently but I havent had any bad experience so far maybe because my building is all the way inside.

This place is great but the parking situation is awful, which has become a common thread in these reviews. I moved in around mid May and the parking lot has constantly been full. Ive even had to park 5 buildings away on certain days. Personally, ive had to stop going out after work because I dont want to deal with not having a spot when I come home later.Ive emailed and called seeking a resolution for the parking issue, but management only apologizes and makes the suggestion to pay an additional fee to have covered or garage parking, instead of listening to their residents complaints and making all parking permit parking. If the management team ever makes an effort to resolve this issue Ill give them a 5 star review, but at this point Id rather live somewhere else with adequate parking.

Im pretty sure everyone else has summed this place up. All the horror stories are true? Car break ins, which is bad enough considering there is never anywhere to park. The raccoons that live by the dumpsters like to scratch your car so dont park by them. The outdated water heaters, the heating systems themselves (granted it is Texas) but still. No AC for most of the summer months, they did bring in 2 window units for us but that brought on a couple hundred dollar electric bill for those months. Winter months same thing, we had over 300 dollars in electricity because of the units they let us use until the heat was fixed. Our balcony was cracked and were told from day one to be careful on the 3rd floor balcony From residents, maintenance as well as leasing office. Gosh the list can go on and on. Two nights before our wedding the cabinet in the bathroom fell off the wall crushing my wife. I have quite a few pictures and video of maintenance telling me they couldnt believe how that cabinet had stayed up there as long as it did. There are so many better options for the price. Just look around and remember never go with the first place you see. They really sold us. My wife is fine now by the way. I wish I could warn the other families to be careful, a lot have children and falling cabinets could seriously injure them. My wife had to see some pretty expensive doctors and specialists to get back to feeling better. Still not 100% after almost a year. So thanks for the physical pain yall :) please repair your apartments so other families are not hurt.

Ive been a resident of Griffis North for over six months and plan on living here for many years to come. I absolutely love this complex and the office staff (Dionna, Leslie, and Lyn) who tends to your every need, big or small. The people at Griffis are what makes this such a wonderful place to live – everyone is so friendly and loves dogs!!! One of the first things you notice about the complex is the beautiful, well-maintained grounds with tons of mature oak trees and lush landscaping. The pool and surrounding lounge area is like that of a world class resort. While I don’t spend much time there, the gym is also top notch with a good selection of cardio equipment, weights, and other exercise equipment. The dog park is wonderful – great for human and canine socializing. Most importantly, the apartments themselves are recently updated, well-maintained, spacious and include many amazing amenities, such as stainless-steel appliances, Nest thermostat, alarm system, and a full-size washer and dryer. All of these things plus a fantastic NW Austin location make this an excellent place to live.

I love this place! I flew down before I moved here and looked at 11 places before this one and applied on the spot. I knew this was the location that I wanted to live in and Griffis had everything that I wanted: Pool, gym with a squat rack, huge apartment size, tons of storage space, walk in closet, over-sized tub, big deck, vaulted ceilings and NEWLY RENOVATED. It was $600 a month cheaper than some of the brand new bougie places around and the same price as a lot of the older crappier complexes that just plain sucked. There were a few things that needed work when I got in and some paint splatters on the counter and sliding glass door from the contractors. Management had my issues taken care of within a day and I dont blame them for the contractors being sloppy, hopefully theyll move on to more professional painters in the future. The only thing that I didnt like is that the maintenance team didnt leave a notice that they had been in the apartment which I am used to when work is done.Lyn is an agent here and I recommend talking to him, he was a great help getting me in here and has been quick to respond and take care of any issues Ive had. Michelle, the manager, has been really helpful. There was an issue with my air conditioning being left on before I got to the apartment and when I let her know what happened she didnt hesitate or make it difficult and immediately took care of the problem. Any apartment complex is going to have problems that come up from time to time, but what separates a good place from a crap place is how problems are handled and everyone here has done an excellent job so far.I saw a bunch of complaints about this place on here, but so far I have had an A+ experience. Yeah it sucks that they charge you for garbage pick up($20) and garbage($7), but everything is right there on the lease, there are no hidden fees and even with that the place is still a great deal. And IF its true that this place is strict when it comes to charging on the check out list during move out then be a responsible renter and do a thorough walk through and make note of all damages including the minor ones when you move in.I love living here and unless my rent jumps unreasonably or I relocate, I plan to live here until I buy my own home. I highly recommend Griffis at the Domain and I encourage anyone thinking of renting in this area to check it out.

Recently new owner took over this place and forced everyone to pay for new Valet Trash service +20$/month, someone gonna toss my trash for me every business day, which I personally dont need.Last Utility Bill(Water/Sewer/Trash) was little over 90$/month for 1bedroom apartment.Garage, Carport extra, plus you can reserve regular parking spot for extra money too which is annoying if you dont wanna pay for parking it might be tough to find a spot nearby.I think its overpriced and doesnt worth the money any more.

These apartments were wonderful to have lived in!! I had the pleasure to be able to see the transition from the contract they had previously when they were named Chez Moi. I really liked that name and it was a big reason to have moved there but regardless living At the Griffis for the past almost 3 years was wonderful.Maintenance are very responsive, always on the grounds, I seen them clean everyday to keeping the grounds and complex into shape. The log in portal for residents was nice because you were able to talk with residents about everything! Always felt homie. The log in portal was very easy to use, all your documents were tangle and of course if you have an questions the office staff was always there for you.The office space and staff was great! They knew you by name most times. Very friendly and professional to making sure everything was a smooth process FOR ME. I never had any real complications with the staff and if so I always addressed matters in the office for any miscommunication we were able to resolve differences and still have a peaceful environment. They got a new mail safe for packages for out of office time.Since the grounds were under construction the past about year of course had some distractions on the water going out or just daily noise. Regardless the complex was very quite. Walnut Creek is right down the hill. And they built/renovated the pool area. I had the opportunity to move into a 1 bedroom at first, it had a sister bathroom that connected to the bedroom and living area. It was perfect! Wonderful lighting. I loved that 1 bedroom!!! then I was able to move in with my roommate into a 2 bed & 2bath and it was just as perfect. A bit dim so was heavy for my plants. But the space was wonderful and had the homie feel that I loved. The reason I had to move like every other apartment in Austin TX, rent is so high, Griffis became over my budget. I decided to move into a newer complex to compensate the sake of living in a newer area instead of resigning my lease. Austin is still too high in rent!! I never had the opportunity to live in a renovated apartment during the time I was there but I do imagine that the renovations that Griffis had made are well worth it!!I highly recommend living at Griffis at the domain.Thank you Griffis for making my life so enjoyable for me during this time.

My wife and I lived there for 11 months, during the time we watched a steady decline in number of amenities available, continual thefts (including our bike), poorly planned maintenance, they refinished the parking lot surface leaving many people with out parking for a few days. I parked at the community college and walked over. At one point they were 3 months behind in maintenance requests, my friend had opened one and they didnt get to it until after he was already moved out. The hot tub is closed and has been since before we moved in and after we moved out. The pool and outdoor grills were closed for a long amount of time. We continually had emergency water shutoffs communicated to us sometimes 2 hours after we already discovered we had no water, on more than one occasion I was done with a workout and came home to find myself unable to shower. Car theft became a common thing for us to just shrug off (similar to how management handled it). The mailboxes were being broken into but something was actually done about that. I will say the one redeeming grace of this place was the playground and volleyball court. But that is definitely not reason enough to move here.

This has to be the most incompetent rental company I have never dealt with. I say never because under their management I never even lived in one of their units. I lived in a unit 3 years ago but for some reason Griffis wont stop contacting me about bills due for the tenant that lived in the unit AFTER me.And yes I moved out 100% paid up to the PREVIOUS landlord. I havent even lived in Austin TX for 3 years but Griffis at the Domain still sends me bills like I am still there. This is also something I have told them on the phone but apparently they arent getting it.

My experience with Chez moi has been awesome, though the maintainence is a little ok because of the language barrier. the apartment and its facilities on the whole is awesome and its a great community and a great new management

Just calling in to get a quote and availability on this place was a nightmare. Not only was the lady rude and insisted on my husband who flew in from California for a job interview to come at 5 clock to view a unit and basically said it was unable to assist him till that point was ridiculous.

It was one of the best apartment in that area few years ago when it was owned by Nolan Properties and Jennifer used to work here, was ok with Venterra, but everything is downhill since new management Griffis took it over. Living here since 3 years and probably vacating soon, maintenance takes 4-5 days to complete and many times they close the office early or start it late or they do breakfast somewhere inside when you go in the morning, so package pickup is always a pain. Most of my neighbors left the place due to tons of problem and new neighbors play loud music and they live like that building is there house and are very rude. The renewal rent is 10% more compared to current rent. Appliances are very old. No option to transfer the lease. Every time you hear different answers regarding lease terms and condition. Staff is rude except two ladies who were working before. Suddenly spike in water and trash prices. Also, living room has partition which divide the living room and that design reduce the overall size of the main room. There are no community events, NEVER. They have some crap loyality rewards, and the necessary one like paint and carpet are only for the residents who stay for more than 10 years (big joke). They have redeveloped apartments now, but it is $150 more. So avoid this place unless you want to pay extra.. Even they charge for clicker to open the gates.Best part : good for pets, kids, car parking, volleyball net, spacious property, package notification (one star for these things).Last thing, : Griffis at Domain ? really ? I did not know we can describe something at xyz if that place is 2.5 miles from your place. All those things I wrote around 5-6 months ago, but I have to say everything has improved a lot and working very hard on renovating the community and work-order do not take long time to complete.

Stay away! Just moved out and am so happy I did. They claim new management is better (used to be Chez Moi Apartments) I dont see any changes. In fact, I think they are worse. They charge you CRAZY amounts for water (I paid $90 per month for a one bedroom apartment) and to keep pets (I paid $1,000 dollars to keep two pets - $600 of which was non refundable. Plus $40 per month. When I moved, they had the nerve to charge me AGAIN for pet cleaning Huh?) Cars were broken into in the last two months, the pool is disgusting, the treadmills are all broken, the parking lot is poorly lit and the management is awful. Rent here if you want to be bled dry for sub-par services.

Ive been living here for 10 months and had intended to resign the lease. The last couple months and new management has made me seriously reconsider this.New office staff are rude, very short with us when we have tried to be polite, and generally have no idea what is going on. They dismiss idiots, you have to seriously watch them to make sure they write down your information or call someone to make sure they are doing their jobs. The notable exception to this are the two ladies who were here before this management change. Everyone else should take note from those two rock stars.Ive lived in rough areas, even they knew how to keep their residents informed. If I can pay line, then they game my email. Why not utilize that to let us know whats going on? This includes simple things, like the fact that the pool is closed due to health code violations, theres supposedly some painting of the buildings, the gate keeps on being broken, serious landscaping is happening like cutting down 10+ trees in the interior party of the complex. Basic communication with your community isnt hard, it shows you care.I saw others complaining about the trash pickup. It ought to be optional rather than paying extra each month. People are more than capable of picking up after themselves, especially to save money from a silly service like this. There was never any community input on this, but then again, see the above pint about COMMUNICATION.When I was having issues with both my sink and dishwasher baking up, nobody came in to repair either of them for days. I had to mention that this was borderline beading the contract for someone to get out here and at least fix the sink so that I could clean. I most certainly didnt want a pest problem, evidently that wasnt an issue for new management. The manager here is the worst of the new staff. Talking to her is impossible, she is so disdainful to everyone I see come in unless theyre a potential new resident. Thats basic customer service: pretend to care, even if you dont really.

I use to live in this area when I was in college about 6 years ago and after moving around to different parts of town, I decided to come back again because I miss being able to either jump on I35 or Mopac or 183 to get to where I need to be. I also miss being near Chinatown and the Domain. I looked at every, and I mean EVERY apartment on Metric and the off streets and I never even looked here because I thought it looked too fancy and was probably way too pricey. So as we were about to sign our lease at another complex, the boyfriend wanted to stop in and look real quick. Jennifer was the rep that greeted us and aside from her offering different floor plan options to us, her exceptional service was really what got us to sign our lease here. She was very upfront and nice about everything and even 5 months later, the front office continues to impress us. The apartment seems to have gone through a management change but that hasnt effected us much. For a month we couldnt pay online so we just had to go get a money order from the bank and paid our rent for that month that way. We order alot of our things online and the front office has been exceptional in accepting packages for us. They keep it in the back where its secure as to where I have lived in places that either didnt accept packages or would just keep it in a pile at the front where anyone could take it.A few other things I like is the secure gates that actually work. The playground comes in handy when my little nephew comes to visit. Dog waste recepticles that are actually filled with bags everytime I have needed it. The gym is great, lots of weights and exercise machines, although I seem to be one of the only ones that use it. There is a sand volleyball court and even though I dont use it, I always see a group of people actively playing there. I never have any problems parking, even when i work and come home late at night, I can find something nearby my complex. My boyfriend paid for a cover parking spot because they were running a special for it when we signed our lease and now I wish I had too for me, mainly just for bad weather days to keep my car and bike safe. There are kids and family here and it seems to be a very safe complex. I walk my dog around and Walnut Creek dog park and trail is just nearby.A few complaints: Some of the drywall in the apartments have been worn, so they have been doing construction outside our apartment on the patio deck. The construction wakes me in the morning when I work nights and my dog goes nutso with the hammer pounding every time. Also, I can hear my upstair neighbor, possibly because they could be elephants but that is soemthing I put up with since I always want to live on the 1st floor. The inside carpet is a dark brown which works with all our furniture. All in all, I wish we could sign a longer lease here.

I moved to Austin in a hurry and was not able to view apartments in person before making a decision. this place sounded nice. i was told over the phone i was getting a unit that was not refurbished... with hardwood floor. it would have carpet instead. I prefer carpet, so this wasnt a problem. there were problems, though.a number of the light switches were malfunctioning upon arrival. maintenance was quick to respond when a service request was placed, but failed to fix the issues, leading to more service requests. at this time, i need to put in another service call to have the initial problem fixed along with another problem caused when the initial problem was being worked on.though we dont have a refurbished unit, i cant agree with calling these apartments luxury. the included appliances (dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave) are of lower quality than the included appliances at my last complex, which was under section 9 state housing in Idaho. government housing was nicer than this place. theres also a slight smell that permeates the place. one of those smells that you get used to and stop noticing, but your guests notice. it smells slightly of old smoke.one reason i chose griffis was the lack of a valet trash removal service. i can take out my own trash. i dont want to pay someone 20$ to do it for me. that just seems like a waste to me. one month after moving in, a mandatory trash valet was instated. no options to opt out. not happy about that either.otherwise, the apartments are in a good location, within walking distance from a nice metropolitan park and a great spot to take my dog. the office staff has been absolutely wonderful to work with. theyve been helpful and friendly with every question Ive thrown at them. they also accept packages for you and will text and email you when you receive one. that has been really nice.update #1: our dryer had been giving us an airflow error ever since we moved in. we had maintenance check it out and clean the duct. they told us everything was OK. today we discovered the outside of our duct was completely sealed over with stucco. despite the great staff in the front office, ive come to dislike every other imaginable aspect about this complex.edit: and now even the staff at the front office has changed, so there is nothing i like about this complex.
