The staff in the front office has been amazing. Every question or issue I have had has been addressed within the day or week at the latest. Staff member, Naryah, has been essential in making sure my move in was as smooth as possible. She has been unbelievably helpful and knowledgeable in not only helping me move in, but also in any functional problems I have faced regarding the amenities provided by Edge Flats.

Under new management but the people are extremely rude. Alot of changes were made without the residents consent.1. New Valet trash service - prior to new management we had a trash room we were able to throw out our trash according to our needs. Now we have a trash pick up service from sun-thurs that gives every little excuse not to pick up your trash. They also put recycling and trash all in the same bin when collecting trash so I’m not even sure my recycling gets recycled.2. The maintenance staff especially the person that leads the staff is EXTREMELY rude. They will go out of their way to tell you how to do things. They ride around in the parking lot with their golf cart way above the speed limit scaring residents and pets. It’s literally as if they have nothing better to do than go around and bully tenants.3. Despite them trying to be high-tech, they charge a 50 dollar service fee to pay rent online. Who in this day and age charges that much of a service fee to do a transaction? Tenants are half forced to pay an extra 50 dollars on their rent or get checks from the bank to pay physically to the office.4. The building is aging and you cantell. There were several cracks in the building when we moved in along with poor finishing and cracks on the walls. We were only here short term so we didnt bother complaining but this was not expected of a ‘modern living apartment’5.The appliances are VERY outdated compared to other apartments in the area with similar rent. Its a old ge fridge that is half open, a induction stove that you can only cook on one bottom side because of the low hear and a really bad garbage disposal that you have to shove down food with a utensil half the time.6. You are right behind a highway and a Baptist hospital so you WILL hear car sounds ambulances, police cars and choppers throughout the day.7. Internet and cable were included but I got 3-5 mbps (40-50 is the normal range to have functioning zoom calls) for a year. They’ve recently been doing work to install better internet but its been in the works for a month and we’ve been suck with slow choppy guest internet8. They don’t have pet disposal areas or bags in the area. There are sooo many spots in winston that offer more amenities for the same price. The front office staff might be nice when you’re touring but you’re basically strangers when you move in. Don’t be fooled by the exterior.

Ive lived at The Edge Flats for 4 years. It has been a great experience. The staff are always helpful. My unit is very spacious and has a great view. The property is located near downtown. You can walk to many restaurants, grocery stores, and/or bars. If youre looking for a place to live near downtown Winston Salem with great amenities look no further than The Edge Flats.

Been a great place to live the last year or so! I hardly hear my neighbors, though there is some noise with the highway/hospital so close. The amenities are nice. Each apartment has gorgeous big windows. Also energy efficient and my electricity bills for a 2 bed 2.5 bath are half what I used to pay for a single bedroom elsewhere. I’ve always had great interactions with the staff as well!

So far my girlfriend and I love this place! Despite being near a major interstate, you can’t hear any traffic. The buildings are really secure, and the fact that the furniture was included makes this a bargain considering everything except electricity is included! If I had a complaint, it would be that there is no regulating of parking in the garage, as many spots are filled rather quickly by visitors. Other than that, a great community!

Valet trash service does not pick up recycling wants us to take care of it if the trash bags are not stacked up on top of the trash cane.

Very friendly and attentive staff that are willing to bend over backwards to assist you any way they can. The complex is in an ideal location for all of Winstons top attractions. They have a courtesy police officer on site who is available for any immediate police assistance - he also leaves his marked police vehicle on site to deter any issues. Maintenance personnel are very quick to respond and never leave you waiting for any assistance you may need.11/10 recommend this property!

Great staff, helpful and friendly. Maintenance is very responsive. I had a TV that didnt work upon move in. Maintenance replaced it in about five minutes time. Facility is attractive, clean, easy to navigate, with lots of amenities. For a large complex, this is noteworthy.

This is by far the most luxurious apartment complex in Winston Salem! Looking to live lavishly? Look no more! Right off of HWY 40 so its also extremely convenient. Friendly staff is just the icing on the cake.

Management was unwilling to help two students whose jobs were affected by the pandemic. Not the sort of company I would like to do business with again.

UPDATED:Nice amenities and close proximity to Wake Forest Hospital. We got off to a somewhat rough start but since new management took over in October 2016, I have noticed improvements. The students have been for the most part respectful neighbours, and the noise problems on the weekends have not been an issue anymore. A courtesy officer has moved in -- this is a Winston-Salem police officer who I have been told by the new management helps with checking around the property, though no issues have come up so far. Hes friendly, and Im sure that the fact that his squad car is visible in the outdoor parking lot is a good deterrent. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Furthermore, for those who were upset by the issues with the students early on, I heard from the new building management that this was a pilot program agreed to by previous management, that will be ending at the end of the 2017 school year -- that the building that has been occupied by students will no longer be used for student housing. Overall this is a nice, convenient place to live, especially if you work at the hospital across the street.

This is the best student dormitory in town, with all the amenities offered, students have the best of both worlds. On the other hand, you cant have it all under one apartment, while it is heaven for Students, its becoming a nightmare for previous and existing tenants who purposely chose the apartment due to its proximity to Wake Forest Hospital (workplace) and other shops nearby, sad to say some tenants can no longer have a sound sleep due to noisy environment and safety concerns, some can no longer use the amenities due to overcrowded pool during summer (not even sure how many are actual tenants using it as some just come freely and park their cars with the help of some friends inside). What was once dubbed as the most luxurious apartment in WS, has turned out to be the most luxurious student dormitory in Winston Salem, wherein a dedicated school bus goes freely and with a dedicated bus stop inside the apartment complex (the only in WS, I guess). Two stars because it started very well, but when management opted for the quick revenue scheme by making it an extension of the University then its downward spiral from there on. Now, time to search for other bonafide luxurious apartments.
