Maintenance issues when they arise are promptly and efficiently dealt with. Funds are transferred on time and their cloud-based management software provides timely and accurate records when it comes to tax time.

I rented a property through AirBnB and the house and hostess were great! We had a few bumps with the house, but as soon as I told our hostess she was quick to get it resolved which was even better. We came from Missouri to start new opportunities. We obviously had no jobs yet due to needing to find a place to rent first! We had 6 months of rent with deposit up front. Husband explains situation along with having an emotional support animal with us. We gave the lady credit scores and everything. She stated that we would be fine and to go ahead and fill out the app. We explained we needed something asap and were in the area in a hotel until we find something. Got an email the next morning about credit. After explaining we dont want to waste $ on it if we didnt have a great chance of getting in. After explaining everything and still wanting money for app then to be denied less than 24 hours later. They just want your money. Not happy at all with the lack of professionalism!

I had a very negative experience here they say they have a first come first serve policy but that is just a facade I looked into the apartment before it was even available and had scheduled an appointment to go look at it and it got taken from underneath me!!

Everyone in the office treats me like family wherever I go pay rent in person the atmosphere is relaxing you can talk to the staff like your family I love Ms Henrietta shes a woman of God while going through my bouts with chemo she prayed for me and with me and she always asked how I was doing I really appreciate her as well as the rest of you guys thanks so much

The office is not organized. When we first moved in they told us to change the gas utility account in our name but it was our neighbors gas. It took months of confusion between the gas company and leasing office to get this worked out. They never let you know when people are going to be on the property to work on the house to replace Roofing or siding etc. The people they contract out leave nails in your driveway and yard. One popped my tire and the leasing office basically ignored my complaint. After several requests of asking them to alert us when people will be on the property they still send people over randomly. A few months after moving in our water heater busted and late Down the Walls in our closet. This was sitting like this for around a week because they said they were waiting on the response from the owner regarding how to fix it. There was mold all over the walls and we didnt have hot water for days. Id wager to say a lot of these positive reviews are from people that know the office personally and want to help with the reviews. I know another person that rented different properties from them and they had the same troubling experiences. Make sure to get everything in writing with these people! They will make mistakes and try to make it seem that it is your fault for their incompetence

Wilmington Realty has managed my properties in excess of 10 years. The company provides the utmost professional and courteous service to the tenants, to contractors who may need to be contacted to service the property and to me the property owner. Wilmington Realty has gone over above and beyond the call of duty to aide in resolving issues with the property itself as well as with renters. The service department manager responds promptly to issues that may arise with my properties; ie hot water breaking and flooding apartments at 3:00 AM... HVAC malfunctions on the weekend during the intense heat of the summer just to mention a few. This professionalism begins with the first call to the front desk, renting my properties in a timely manner and keeping them rented on thru the resolution of issues. This is why I have remained with this company for a long period of time and plan to remain with them given the service Wilmington Realty provides.

Kathy and Henrietta both have attitude problems. I had asked for an application for a place and it took them 8 hours to send it to me. I paid the $55 application fee for a place that the owners of the property told me they would accept our pet and then our application got denied because we have a pet. Very unprofessional and they lack communication.

We came up from Missouri, obviously had no jobs yet offered a full years rent with deposit. She said fill out the apps and we will see what we can do come to find out someone else already had an app pending for animal approval they did not tell us this... and we told her we were on a tight schedule and she declined to tell us that. And that was after spending $165 for application fees and on top of that apparently it required proof of a job when that was not what we were told i couldnt believe they treated us this way what ever happened to cash Talks! Or having common courtesy that is absolutely ridiculous to accept another app that is gonna cost that much when someone else is already pending approval worst company ever!

This Group of folks have been wonderful to work with from day one! They are attentive, caring, and kind. Don’t often see this combination from a business these days!

I have been renting from Wilmington Realty for 3+ years and have had a wonderful experience. The employees were always friendly anytime I came into the office or spoke with them on the phone. You can tell they care about their tenants and enjoy what they do. I recently moved out of their property do to a job related move to another city and was in the process of renting a new home when Hurricane Florence hit. Even without power or internet access they were responsive to our needs and gave a reference that facilitated me getting a new rental. I highly recommend renting from Wilmington Realty.

Pretty terrible company. They have discriminatory practices and lie about everything from amenities on the property to your lease. They are extremely unresponsive and outright ignore communication attempts. They refuse to answer direct questions about the properties and will only answer them after you have paid money to apply.

After looking at an available rental on their website me and my wife having deposit ready went to go check out the property. I was first told that they already had an application on the house but I couldnt apply until July 1st even though they allowed someone else to apply and then they told me that policy is to not allow people to apply for the property until it was viewed. They were completely unprofessional when handling that situationI was called back after I spoke to someone and they explained to me the situation and said if I wanted to apply for a house with out looking before I hand and just explained I would lose my application fee if I decided to rent the property

So their rules from their own mouth” you cannot apply for a property till you see it” so I am the first one at the door 10 minutes before they open. They tell me I can’t see it till it’s inspected, come back at 1030. I’m there at 1028 go inside and I hear that THEY TOOK A APPLICATION ON IT ALREADY BEFORE IT WAS INSPECTED. Should have expected this because this is the third real estate company to pull this in Wilmington.Update*** contacted again, about another property, told to come in and check it out, no applicants yet. My roomate goes to check it out and guess what? NO AVAILABLE TO BE SHOWN. Either no one communicates or something because you told me to give you a second shot and you burned me again taking up my time to come to your office again and again

Ive rented a house for almost four years through Wilmington Realty and Ive had no problems. I guess negative experiences are more likely to show up on reviews than the positive ones. Im surprised. Whenever I had any problems (i.e.,maintenance) they sent somebody out to do the repairs and it didnt cost anything of course. I am very satisfied with the home we rent, the location and the service.

I didnt wind up renting with them but they couldnt have been nicer or more professional.

We had the pleasure of staying at Catherine Cottage for a long weekend. The cottage is completely adorable, cozy, and well decorated. It has a charming front porch swing we enjoyed and my son was able to play in the beautiful backyard. We enjoyed exploring downtown Wilmington and had a few sunny days at Wrightsville Beach. It was the perfect house for our girls weekend with my sister, Mom, and 2 year old son. Rebecca has been the epitome of southern hospitality and was expectionally helpful and accommodating. We loved working with her. We highly recommend Catherine Cottage!

Be wary if property needs any maintenance whatsoever! Renting property with shed, they were aware I wanted to use as an art studio and yet failed to mention outlets dont work and refuse to fix. While cleaning out found a nesting snake, experts came and recommended to clean out extensive rotten wood previous tenant had dumped behind shed and to clear mountain of rotting yard waste behind shed improperly disposed of for years. Company refused to lift one finger for me and didnt even respond for 3+ weeks. Could have let me know my dreams of using property were never going to happen due to lack of functioning electricity and dilapidation warranting the site condemned and unsafe for me or my dog, a snake magnet as the experts said. Property clearly never inspected or cleaned properly after last tenant, therefore falsely advertising it to me as usable, and now refusing to maintain it to a safe standard.

This company is terrible.I rented with them for a year and a half. When I first moved in there was a bad mold problem in the bathroom, it was completely covering every wall. They agreed they would take care of it if I moved in. The way they took care of it was by painting over it. Within a month the mold was back. I went to them and asked them to install a bathroom fan because without a way to deal with the moisture the mold would just continue coming back. Their response was that a fan was too expensive, and they would just continue repainting. 5 months after they had initially painted over the mold they had not done anything else to address. I went to resign my lease and again they was promised they would deal with the mold. Although this time they did not even paint over it for me. I would regularly remind them of the mold, and I was constantly told they would do something. They never did anything though. After a year of living there they finally installed a fan in the bathroom, but did nothing to address the mold that had been building up in their for about 11 months. For the next 4 months they continued saying they would fix it without actually doing anything to fix it until I finally told them that since they cant maintain a safe living property or keep their side of the lease agreement that I would withhold payment until they took care of the mold at which point I would pay what I owed.Their response rather than fixing the mold that they had agreed to fix at the time of signing my lease and repeatedly said they would fix throughout the course of me living there was to file eviction papers.This is just one example of an issue I had with them. Another shorter example is when a window got broken out, not only did they repeatedly blame me for breaking the window even after they received a police report from me, but they refused to fix the window for a month. I even told them that if they determined I was at fault that Id be happy to pay the cost of replacing it with my rent, and still they refused to replace the window.They also tried to alter my lease without even telling me. When I discovered this I told them simply to change it back to the agreement that I actually signed or I would sue them. Their response was to refuse, berate me, and threaten me with eviction. Although eventually they did change it back.There was constant issues with these people. I only stayed in the house and dealt with them as long as I did because it was an absolutely perfect location for me, and the rent was reasonable.The people who work here are very unintelligent, they are very comfortable lying even while under oath, they are just all around terrible people in every way.

Called today to inquire about a property for rent, told the agent I was looking to move in 3 weeks. She informed me that it had an application, I inquired about anything else they may have coming up as I am eager to sign a lease soon. She just told me to check the website and didnt seem to want to talk further. Fair enough. I called another agency and they are already getting a lease ready for me. Im an agent myself and I would never be this unhelpful. They just lost a customer. I suppose they dont really care though judging by the service I received.

Seriously worst realty company!!!! They are so slack on getting things done and very unprofessional. I will need something done to my rental and it will take months for them to finally let me know if it will be fixed or not which is extremely frustrating. I feel like I have to constantly baby them and so okay Im following up what is going on with such and such to actually get anything done. Also they take WEEKS to finally deposit rent payments WHY???? Why if my rent is due on the 1st of every month do you wait until the 7th or even the 9th to finally deposits my check?? Dont get me wrong they represent some nice rental properties BUT PLEASE save yourself the headache and STAY AWAY from this company! Just keep looking because Wilmington Realty is a joke! Poor service! Poor company!!!

I would have chosen NO STARS, but that wasnt an option. This is the worst real estate rental company in Wilmington. If you are reading these reviews, please choose to find a rental property with another business. Wilmington Realty did nothing about the mold that was growing in my condo, sent a handyman out to bully me when they finally did acknowledge that there was a problem, and even though the mold has to do with an issue with the foundation of the entire building cracking, they are now refusing to return my deposit. I have sent in a formal complaint with the North Carolina Health Department, The US HUD Counsel, BBB, Wilmington Apartment Association, New Hanover County Business Manger, and several other department in and around the state, and now Im leaving this public review for everyone to know that this company is horrible. Please do not rent from them. Hopefully, with all the complaints that Ive made, Ill be able to get my deposit back at some point. I have also decided to contact an attorney for legal purposes as well. Please do not make the same mistake that I made when I thought I had found the perfect apartment through them.
