Cathy at the front office was always very prompt in communicating with us and was very kind. These apartments are affordable, definitely in need of some updates, but has a convenient location with pretty nice neighbors.
Maintained a fast work pace and was done in under 15 minutes. Was very professional.
In my 7 years of living in Wilmington, this will be the first apartment that I’m happily renewing my lease at. Justin in the leasing office has been more than helpful every step of the way with everything. From maintenance issues, payment issues, renewing and modifying the lease, he’s always had or found the answer I needed. Hopefully he continues to stick around! Great location, great residents, and ample parking.
I moved to Wilmington four years ago and Birchwood Park was among the many apartments I toured before making the move. I went to graduate school in Wilmington and moved here from out-of-state, so I was not very familiar with the area prior to moving. Birchwood Park is very conveniently located. I was able to get to and from school (UNCW) in about 10 minutes, and trying to find a parking spot on campus sometimes took longer than that!My only complaint is that I have had some run-ins with unwanted critters in the form of cockroaches and bees in/around my apartment. The people in the leasing office are always very nice, accommodating, friendly and address you by name, which is a nice touch!I graduated last year but I decided to continue to live at Birchwood Park. The value is really great, especially compared to other apartments in the area. Now its not the Ritz, so if youre looking for stainless steel appliances, fancy counter tops and a full on-site gym, youre probably not going to be 100% satisfied at Birchwood Park. But if youre looking for an affordable and convenient place to live for one or two people, Birchwood Park is more than adequate.
This was the first apartment my husband and I lived in after being married. Right after Florence, we signed on for a year at 789, which was a steal. Getting down town for both of us was very convenient and it was nice to allow visitors to park freely in the complex. It is a rather small space, but it has everything you need. We were able to fit a queen bed with a chest and dresser in the bedroom and a large sectional with bookshelves and a 55” TV and it was very reasonable space wise. We didn’t own any pets or have any children, and I’d say it was overall “enough” space. Packages were sometimes confusing to see if they’d be at the mail box, the office, or our front door. The management was almost always friendly (one incident, but that is water under the bridge), and great maintenance team. Thanks for a great year Birchwood!
Great place to live. Very informative on upcoming events good or bad events. Maintenance is prompt one call is usually all it takes. I would highly recommend Birchwood Park. always a great job by this team prompt friendly service and it is fixed right the first time. Tribute Properties as a great team at this facility second to none.
Our daughter lived in these apartments for 2 years. Prior to Hurricane Florence, she complained about a strong odor of mold/mildew. The staff sent maintenance to check out her unit several times after each complaint and blamed it on her burning candles. This was not the case. At our own expense, we paid to have the carpets professionally cleaned and disinfected the walls, bathroom and kitchen. We then painted the walls in her kitchen to block mold on the walls. Within a year, the mold returned through the walls and was blowing through the VHAC unit, staining the ceiling. During this time she suffered from constant allergy like symptoms and sinus infections. When she moved with our encouragement, her heath issues vanished and has had no further problems. If you are considering this complex, we suggest demanding them provide proof the unit you are considering is mold and mildew free.
Still waiting for the job to be finished
I feel this is a great complex. The office staff is friendly, and are always willing to do what they can to help with maintenance request or problems. Grounds are kept neat and the complex is pretty quiet. Ive enjoyed living here.
Installation was done well and neatly.
Have only been here for about 3 weeks now, but we love it so far. Had one minor complaint brought up to the office staff and we felt like they really cared when they could have easily pushed it to the side and not bothered. That says a lot to me, personally. Staff is always kind and helpful, neighbors are quiet, people you see as you walk around are friendly. The apartments are a little older looking, and theres lots of wooded areas around, but we havent had a problem with any appliances or bugs! I will update as we progress through the year, or eventually move out.Update: We just renewed our lease, we still love it here! Its got to be the best apartment around for the price. Its not a perfect place, but when youre on a tight budget like us, this is pretty darn close. Office and maintenance staff are just as friendly and caring for any issues or questions now as they were when we first toured the apartments. We do have a minor bug problem, which I hate to say because I love our apartment so much! We have some roaches that come in through small cracks in caulking/moulding, but we put out some traps and rarely see them anymore. They are prompt on any issue, and provide free pest control if you want their bug spraying services (which we use every blue moon as well as our traps). Sometimes neighbors can be loud, but it is an apartment complex, not a home, and Im honestly surprised that I dont hear people more often. I thought with the price and how close it is to the colleges, that there would be more rowdiness. Thoroughly surprised by our quality of life this past year, and highly recommend it to anyone!
My wife received mail that we own them $700 after couple months of moving. Which does not make sense to me as I had paid off all the due balance before I handed the keys in. I have all the proof and documents proving I paid every penny before moving out. I am dissapointed that even after knowing my family health condition, this mess is created when I am not even in the country. I have always been paying the rent always on time. I never created hassle for apartment people. And still I have to face this mess when I come back from another country. I sent many emails and called them, but they stop replying after i sent notice of intent to vacate which has their signature and my signature along. I thought they realize their mistake and thats why they are not replying, but after month, I got call from NATALIE BURTON, their external collection agency request me to pay my collection. And again we explained everything to her and sent many emails with proof but she never reply on any of the emails or called back, so they can say in court that they never heard from us in case we file a lawsuit. We called Ms. Natalie Burton many times, but after sometimes, she started getting mad at us for calling her and told us to wait for reply from Birchwood. So we waited. Now we received letter from this natalie, stating we failed to provide them suitable arrangement and they processing our account on our credit history. Now my wife is tired and want to pay it off and done with it even thru we already paid all due balance before moving out. They think since its only $700, we would give up but I will spend over $1000 on lawyer to drag this in the court but wont give them single penny. Also will be contacting Wilmington housing authority. Please avoid this place at all cost if you dont want this mess in your life.
I have lived here for 3 years and any problems that I have had have been addressed in a timely manner. Maintenance requests get fulfilled as needed and any complaints that I have are handled courteously by the management staff. The problems that I have had here are mainly due to other residents being neglectful of picking up after their dogs and letting their dogs run around, which is not something that the apartment complex can control very well, although they do try by sending out flyers and addressing the residents directly as needed. I am satisfied with the help that they provide. I am not always the easiest resident to make happy but they certainly try! Maintenance guy is awesome too. He can fix a lot.
Stopped in to visit family here went to dinner and when we returned 2 hours later our car had been towed. Zero No parking or Tenant Only/Permit Required Signs cost us 135 to get our car back. Will never recommend this place or visit anyone living here again.
This is the loudest apartment complex around. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. They have been doing construction on the road for 7 months and show no signs of stopping. Its just beeping all day long.Edit: Also they will call you if you give them a bad review, which is creepy and just happened.
Birchwood Park has a great community management team. They keep the grounds in good condition and have always been very fast to make any necessary repairs.
Love living here! Very quiet and friendly office staff!
Management and maintenance are very professional.
They are great when you first move in, when you are trying to move out they will charge you an arm and leg and not return your phone calls when you are trying to get more information. Poor management!
Great place to live!
