Moved in a month ago and have had some minor to moderate issues with our apartment (its an unrenovated unit) but the building has always been quick to send someone to fix it and the issues are resolved quickly. Fahim in particular has been wonderful at fixing things in our apartment. He works quickly and efficiently and is always courteous and respectful of the fact that he is in our home (i.e. takes his shoes off, wears his mask properly, works quietly, etc).

Excellent and responsive maintenance team. Fahim helped me troubleshoot a problem I had with my A/C the same day I put in the request. He installed a new thermostat on the spot. Very professional and efficient!

I moved to the Avalon at Gallery Place a few months ago. I have had a wonderful experience. The staff are excellent! Everyone is friendly and eager to help you with any problem. You’re close to the metro and great restaurants in the Chinatown area. I highly recommend the building.

Before I decided to move to Avalon at Gallery Place, the first thing I did was come here and check the reviews - Im sure Im not the only one that does this. I almost couldnt believe that a building could be held in such high regard by so many reviewers and it all be true. Well, Im now a believer.I moved to AGP late last year and my experience from start to finish with the move-in process was so pleasant. Daysha - I think shes a floating manager of some sort - really did a phenomenal job and catered to my every need. As a regional director in the property management/facilities service industry myself, Im a very very tough critic, as a lot of Avalons competitors are also my clients. This, by far, hands down, is the best Ive lived in. I had heard positive things about Avalon, but now Im living it.Maintenance - now thats a whole other story. Ive never seen such a streamlined, well organized, and efficient maintenance team. The entire team is awesome. I would name drop, but what makes the maintenance at AGP so great is everyone treats your requests with the same urgency. So if I list names I would be listing the whole team. Mike in maintenance is great though. He often calls me to follow-up on things. I had a handle on my bathroom faucet come loose one night. I submitted a ticket on Avalon Access - another great thing about living at an Avalon property - and you would think I submitted a ticket for an actual emergency. By 9am the next morning, maintenance had it fixed. And mind you, this is during a time of COVID where everything in the world has been delayed. But nope, not these folks at Avalon!The concierge team is awesome - I rate them an 11 out of 10. Trayonna and Brandy are amazing and honestly, even the part-timers are really good. You dont see that in the industry much anymore. A lot of part-timers lack the care factor - they simply dont care because its a part time gig or extra money at night. But Avalons got it together it seems. I can be having a bad day and Trayonna and Brandy will just brighten it up with their smile - behind a mask at that!Enjay was recently promoted to property manager. Congrats to her because its very well-deserved. I see her in the lobby a lot just greeting people, asking about their day, etc. Shes not a PM that just sits in an office on MRI or Yardi all day banging the keyboard. Shes involved. So from the property manager to the concierge team to maintenance, not to mention the location, Id give this property a definite 5/5. Keep it up Avalon!

We lived here for two years. Fantastic location with proximity to everything. Rooftop views are excellent, along with the grills and ambiance. Lounge is good for hosting events, socializing, or watching TV. Gym is pretty good for how small it is. The staff is wonderful, Marcus, Ash, Jim, literally everyone there is always smiling and happy to help. Definitely one of the most professional apartment staffs Ive ever worked with, I would highly recommend them. I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone.

Great front desk and management

I have lived in the Avalon at Gallery Place for several years -- for good reason! It has been literally the gift of time. When they repaired a feature/equipment in my apartment home today -- it was a full court press. Ramonia, David, and Anna are wonderful/responsive... from the call to the clean-up -- they were impeccable! Thanks bunches!

I recently moved to DC from Manhattan, and I could not have picked a better place to move. The staff here are warm and always helpful. The shared facilities, which include a roof terrace, several meeting spaces downstairs, and two workout facilities, are always very clean and ready for use. The neighbors are also very friendly.One of the best aspects of living here though is how easy it is for me to get anywhere. Chinatown has a lot of great restaurants. There is a Safeway a few blocks away. The Verizon Center is behind the apartment building. And there are three metro stations within walking distance from the building, I think one of which goes straight to Reagan Airport. Perfect for a person who is new to the city and still needs to explore or has a busy travel schedule like I do.I hope this review helps. Please leave a question if you have any. I have lived here for less than a year.

We lived here for just 9 months because we purchased a home, but it was the best apartment building we have lived in, hands down. The people are amazing - so friendly, kind to our dog, honest. I could not say enough great things about the front desk staff and all of the people who work here! Ramonia was consistently kind to our dog which made living here a great experience. I would highly recommend - plus the location is super convenient.

Moved into the building a few weeks ago, but it was our top choice since we went looking for apartments months in advance. The location is unbeatable (at least for me, since I work right across the street), the building is great (fireplaces in the lobby and lounges, rooftop terrace, excellent amenities, modern apartments) and the staff is competent, pleasant and reliable (which is a rarity nowadays). They made our move from New York City seamless, and the team continues to impress! Marc from the leasing office sold us on the building right from our first meeting - impeccable manners, excellent communication skills, pleasant personality and utmost professionalism. To be honest, everyone is great – Ashley from the leasing office, always ready to help, very nice and supportive, James and Jim from the reception/front desk – funny, helpful, resourceful and knowledgeable, and David from maintenance, hard-working, ingenious, courteous, reliable and efficient! It’s a pleasure to interact with the team, and things are organized and run smoothly. I hope to be able to call the Avalon my home for many years to come, and I’m so grateful to have found it!

Avalon at Gallery Place is a great building that has met all of my needs in an apartment home and community. The staff is tremendous from the front desk/concierge to the leasing office. All of them are extremely knowledgeable and friendly, always greeting me with a hello and warm smile. They are very helpful with anything that I have needed. The building has a great lobby, a large up to date fitness center with lots of new equipment, and an awesome rooftop with stunning views and nice gas grills. The apartments themselves are nice with plenty of space and have been well maintained. The hallways, elevators, and community spaces are all very good. Its a really great area in the city to live with an excellent central location. It is only 2 blocks from 2 metro stations that can take you anywhere you need to go in the city. I highly recommend Avalon at Gallery Place.

My boyfriend and I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment on the 5th floor for one year. The best part about this apartment building is the front desk staff. Robert, Jim and Ramona are the best front desk staff in the business! They are always going above and beyond to help residents with anything they need. We enjoyed living in the building but needed more space and when we were up to renew there weren’t any floor plans in our price range. I would recommend Avalon at Gallery Place to any of my friends who are looking to rent in Chinatown! We will miss it and all the people very much.

The property management/team are superb! Very friendly and professional, as well as welcoming! I wasnt sure what to expect considering I had never met with any of the management team at Avalon before and it was without a doubt, a pleasant experience! They provided a welcoming attitude and answers to all my questions (even the dumb ones) and wanted to make sure that I was happy with the potential of living there.

Wonderful building in a fun, convenient location between two metro stops. Lots of great restaurants nearby and walking distance to a grocery store. The building staff, especially Robert, are always friendly, helpful, and pleasant. The rooftop has a great view of the city with grills and plenty of tables and couches. The gym was recently updated, and there is a nice living room type space that can be rented out for events. Very pleased with my experience at the Avalon at Gallery!

They say the first impression when you walk into a building property,place of work or home is the first person you meet.And to say it the least,Beatrice is an asset to Gallery place . I understand she is not an employee, this young lady has an upbeat energy,smile and voice that welcomes you home after a long day at work and even right off to work.Not a day, have i seen her in any negative energy or mood .She is always smiling, and right ready to help.She knows the property like the back of her hand .And last weekend,i was impressed by how she worked the trash room when it was full and residents had nowhere to put the trash.I wanted to tell the manager,but i havent time to come downstairs.Overall,the management and services at this property is above and beyond.

I recently moved into the Avalon and have really enjoyed the community. When I was looking for a new apartment, I saw a number of buildings in the area, but ultimately decided on the Avalon for a number of reasons: I loved the combination of the amenities this building offered, the location, the square footage of the unit, the price, and the individuals who work at Avalon.I have had positive experiences from the first time I visited the Avalon, through the leasing process, the move in, and now living in the community. The community consultant, Jarius, who I worked with was incredibly helpful in providing a lot of information and he was very responsive to my numerous questions. Since I moved in, all the folks at the front desk are super helpful and friendly. I feel taken care of at the Avalon. I have also loved the amenities the building offers from the workout room, to the rooftop, and nice common areas.I am happy to call the Avalon my home! I highly recommend it!

Amazing place, great location. Can walk to most places. Pristine inside with big rooms and bathrooms. Tastefully done up. Quiet and private. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would stay here again and recommend to all!

This place is the absolute best! Marc and his team are always on call and make sure all my issues are resolved, giving out a helping hand and going out of their way to make sure I’m a comfortable resident. Romonia, Robert and Jim in concierge are always real delightful and always welcomes me with warm smiles and great advice concerning anything new that’s going on in the Gallery place. These guys are awesome !

Convenient location. Gorgeous units. Proactive management.I find this building to have the perfect setting in the city. Its walking distance to restaurants, red line metro and The Verizon Center! Marc - their property manager - is selfless and proactive. He responds promptly to everyones needs and provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere for staff and clients!The Avalon at Gallery Place has strong core values and would recommend anyone to experience such luxury!

My family stayed here on a short vacation and Id have to say, it was wonderful. The front desk staff was great, Robert McCray was great!!! Hands down, made our stay feel so much like home and so friendly and welcome to help.

The staff of this place and the location is wonderful, cant say enough good things about them. Right by the Capital One Arena, great restaurants, the red, yellow and green metro lines. The rooftop is a great view, fitness center and bike storage are solid.But I have a couple large complaints about this place too. The biggest is how much they jack the rent up on you every year. I went through three rent increases with them – first year was 6 percent, second year they tried 9 percent and we talked them down to another 6 percent, third year they tried 12 percent and we told them we were leaving so they took it down to 6 percent again. We still left. We were in a three-bedroom, so 6 percent increases in rent every year were between $200-$300 per month increase. Im writing this three months after leaving and they still havent been able to rent our old apartment, which theyre now offering for significantly less than they tried to charge us.Second complaint is the cheapness of the materials in the apartment itself. The floors are cheap, fake wood that damage easily. The doors are hollow and filled with cardboard. The walls scuff at the slightest pressure. Cabinets, blinds, you name it, its cheap. And Id have less of a problem with that if they werent trying to charge you luxury apartment prices for living here.Overall, enjoyed my time at this apartment and you cant beat the location. But their tendency to jack up rent combined with cheaply-made apartment drove us out.

I recently moved out after living here for two years. The building and the staff are excellent, especially Robert and Jim at the front desk. They are incredibly committed and helpful with whatever residents need. The maintenance staff was also very efficient and super friendly. I was sad to go. The only thing that would improve it was if there was a pool.

Great apartment with super nice people work there. Special shout out for Mek the maintenance guy who always active, ready and fast to fix anything in my apartment. Last time he was willing to spend a lot of time to fix leaked toilet in my apartment and at the same day also fix heating problem.

Just came out of this great building, nice view of city from the roof top. You cant beat the location its near the Verizon Center and high end restaurants. Staff was friendy and give good recommendations on where to eat and site see. A in my book.

Have really loved living at Avalon at Gallery Place. Very nice amenities and very conveniently located between Chinatown and Judiciary Square metro stations. 24 hour front desk service is also a great living accommodation. Only downside is that the monthly rent can be somewhat pricey, but the cost of living in DC overall is expensive and you get what you pay for...location, location, location!!!

I love my new home for several reasons. Ten minute jog to the national mall. Unbeatable relativity to metro. Friendly and accommodating employees. Beautiful rooftop views and accommodations for entertaining.

We had a wonderful experience living there - we took great advantage of the amenities including the newly renovated gym and rooftop patio / grill space. This review is a shout-out to maintenance staff Mek, who spent over an hour helping me fix my window, blinds, toilet, and kitchen sink. On his way out he noticed the door hinges were squeaky and oiled those too. I really appreciated his diligence and work ethic. He made sure to identify the root cause of each problem and ensured each task was completed perfectly before moving onto the next one. An incredibly honest, hard-working individual - I am grateful for Meks service, clearly vital for keeping Avalon running so smoothly.

Delighted that I selected Avalon at Gallery Place - just moved to DC from Phoenix and Im enjoying the proximity to shopping, great restaurants and the metro. Most importantly, the staff here, from Community Consultants to all of the front desk Concierge and Maintenance staff, are courteous, warm, friendly and helpful, making things easy and smooth.

I have lived here for a long time and I really like it. The building is nice, the staff is absolutely excellent, and Jeffrey Carroll (the property manager) has the place running like a clock.

Mek did another great job in my apt - he fixed up my blind real nice.

Love this building. Online webportal makes it really easy to pay rent and to submit maintenance requests. 4 grills on the roof so you never wait (and an outdoor TV too). Great front desk staff, especially Jaince, who has been a life saver too many times to count.
