The internet here is genuinely awful, even on Ethernet I cant regularly get under 150 ping to any server. If you play any online games I would seriously think twice before living here. If not, the apartments themselves are nice, but not necessarily the best value consideing the price.
Internets always out, the a/c is great for about 10 square feet, homeless people always in and around the gated compound, try not to stay here unless it’s short term
I would avoid these apartments if youre looking for a short-term lease. They advertise 3 months, but denied that option exists when I talked to a leasing agent today. Furthermore, I told the staff multiple times I was looking for a 3 month lease (once in the application and twice by email) and they didnt tell me they dont offer short-term leases until they received my application fee and proof-of-income. The leasing agents were respectful, but the false advertisement is a clear indication of incompetence.
This place is tight. Also I love the aesthetic and the new sign.
Quiet mostly, Unless the people that dont live here are making traffic by foot. Though here! If your not a resident or significant other your not welcome! But they have put alot into this location and it dose work for me and many others. Worth looking into for many reasons!
Great value, kind and helpful managementI’m a new tenant and I firstly want to recognize Larissa. She has been so kind and super helpful every step of the way and during these high stress times (moving in and of itself is very stressful obviously, but add a global pandemic and all the other happenings going on right now to the mix, and it can feel like you’re losing your mind some days during moving) that sort of understanding is not only appreciated, it also stands out and shines. As for the apartment itself, I am in a renovated unit and I am beyond impressed at what you get for the value. The floors, the new appliances, the noise reducing brick walls, all of that adds up to feeling like you’re getting a steal on the prices here!
Unbelievable amount of insects all over the complex
I see bug too! Nothing to worry about. I research. Harmless. All over town. Not nice to say place have bug when whole town have bug. Shame to be you. I stay here, very nice people and room. I stay again when I in town.
Very clean and vibrant ambiance. Reminds me of the Saguaro in Palm Springs, Ca.
Super friendly, helpful, chill staff. A little noisy with all the remodeling happening right now but things look really good. I like the new colors and the units look really fancy.
I see the insects that you are talking about. They are called Crane Flies. They are a seasonal insect in many places to include Arizona. They are completely harmless and do not bite or sting. Look at UANews. They did a big write up on the Crane Fly. They will die out soon and your fears of the big bad bug can be put to rest...
I called for information, very helpful and imformable. Very nice office staff.
Office staff is very helpful. They are also remodeling the whole place. Excited to see what it’s gonna look like!
Great apartment for students. The apartment is QUIET. I have lived here for 4 years, and not a single party which is great for students who want to study in peace. Maintenance is responsive and you get a good deal for the price. Staff is also wonderful. Internet has gotten good here too. Also, you dont hear neighbors and upstairs noise. Someone would need to be screaming to hear anything.
Compact, dorm-like. Very friendly staff. Gated and protected. This is a student housing project so full time students only. Seems like the quiet rules is respected. No parties allowed. Shuttles to u of a. Bike rentals with deposit. Rent plus utility can roughly be budgeted to 700+- per month. Studio apartments. Laundry room on each floor. Quiet study room.
Living here for a semester was awesome. I met a lot of cool people. The installations are everything you need, and its nice to have the pool, game room, and study room as well. Very recommended. Its very close to downtown, and bus stops, so you wont miss anything.
Its very quiet here, that is the best part. The management, and staff are very helpful. A lot of amenities!
I am good with place! Its quiet, and many things are getting better. There is some great people in the office that treats me and some of my friends more than just a tenants. Well, as a student I dont expect too much here. They have a good shuttle service, the university is just about 25 from here, its not a big deal to walk there (except in the Summer). The place is good and its actually getting better.
One of the most beautiful properties in downtown
Total mess, rooms look like never cleaned, you can barely see through the windows, huge cockroaches everywhere in kitchen cabinets, bathroom, in the evening even running on the ceiling over your bed. What is even more appalling the owners are frauds. They agreed that I move out due to cockroaches, apologizing for inconveniences, telling they will charge me only for the days of my stay there (not even full two weeks) and that we withdraw from the contract in mutual agreement, promissing they will, give me my deposit money back. After more than two months when I still didnt receive my deposit back, in emails they were claiming that they have sent the cashiers check by post and this must be post office mistake that I didnt get it. But suddenly after these two months they somehow knew exactly where to send another letter in which they demand from me more than 2000$ for breaking the contract by my moving out. These people are thiefs and frauds. Dont get misled, dont live there. Additionally Ive never met less professional service than there even simply trying to book an apartment, they dont respond to emails etc. Its a miracle this mess even still exists with such sercices. Who normal wants to live there?I lived there two years ago and place was ok and staff very nice, but I lived there again this year and since the owner has changed I honestly would not recomend this place to worst enemy.
Safe looking place . Need to clean rooms before new students move in . Dirty no cleaning was done. Grandson slept on bed and didnt move his things in yet . He is scrubbing place now . Got keys 2 days ago and was told would be clean. Great amenities theater, pool hot tub, gym .Good Non pary place for serious students.
I liked staying here. Everything regarding Sahara apartment is perfect. I lived in studio apartment. The apartment is furnished and exactly the same as shown in the website. The most impressive thing about this residence is the behavior of the staff. The staff is very cooperative, friendly, caring .....even though we are away from our family and home but all these people treated you like family and feel you like home. The shuttle service provided by the apartment was awesome.....it is always on time. Infact I must recommend this residence for staying in Tucson.
I have lived at Sahara Apartments for a couple years and overall the experience was quite good. The studio rooms are adequately furnished and have everything a student would require for a very reasonable price (utilities included). Moreover, the university campus, fourth avenue, and downtown are all within walking distance, which allow students to connect to local resources. The staff is also very friendly and focused on giving you the best experience possible. I would seriously consider living here again, and I encourage you to inquire about your living situation with the manager/owner.
I have lived here at Sahara Apartments for about two years now going on three. Here is what I can honestly say about Sahara Apartments. For me, I live here in Arizona and as a student who lives in the town all year I must say that the most important factor for me is connection. If I live here and cannot make this place my home I will surely think that the place I live in is intrusive to the good that I am looking for, that we are all looking for. I think that it is a matter of perception. If one makes Sahara their home or home away from home then they can find life here, but if they cannot focus themselves on this then they will not. The landlord, Ted Mehr, is a good man. He listens and does his best to accommodate whatever questions, concerns, and comments one may have in a positive way. The staff are very well picked and they do well to be friends to those who live here, and for me they are part of the reason why I have been able to make Sahara my home. Many student housing apartment complexes are places where students find themselves partying. This is not one of those places. We all thrive in the quiet that one will find at Sahara. Do not think that this apartment complex is perfect because it isnt, and there are things that you will find blemish in when you live here.Ted and his staff are human and if there is something that you may dislike it may take time before it is fixed, but you can be sure that if you are understanding, patient, and you come and voice your concerns respectfully then you will obtain what you need.
The reason I am writing this review is because I had an inappropriate interaction with 2 staff members in the office while attempting to pick up items that my friend, the one who lived there, left in his room when he moved. There were other potential customers speaking to one of the staff while she asked me what I was there for. After explaining that I am just there to pick up the items that were left she began speaking to me in a hostile voice stating that my friend needed to email them with a written notice. My friend called the office staff prior to confirm it was okay. I also called ahead of time to make sure it was okay which I was also not informed of this. She continued with her disrespectful tone when another lady with blonde hair started to talk. She asked what was going on and I explain that I was just wanting to pick up the items. I told them my friend called and I did and that the staff on the phone said it was okay. I also clarified and stated that I did not mind asking my friend to send them an email. It’s not a big deal. I offered to call him right then and there. She stated no. She stated “this won’t be happening today.” She appeared to not care and was bluntly rude. I just wanted to let anyone who is potentially wanting to reside here that I would definitely not recommend! I am not even a residence here and they couldn’t even treat me decently for something that was just a miscommunication. Plus, there were literally other people in the office while this was happening. The two ladies in that office are clearly unprofessional, inappropriate, and do not have any communication skills to interact with people. There are a lot other cheaper places near U of A for the majority of students that look at these apartments as a place to reside. There’s also just nicer people to interact with, no need to have to live in a complex with staff like that.
I stayed at Sahara Apartments for roughly two years and was very impressed with their rates, safety, and amenities. While the buildings are older, the staff were very helpful with fixing anything that needed repairs. The shuttle service is generally reliable and helpful. I was also impressed with the no party policy and any noise or other complaints were addressed quickly. A great value. The neighborhood isnt the best for walking at night but the property is gated.
These apartments are extremely affordable and the staff was amazing helpful. Simply submit a ticket or just walk down to the main office if it is urgent and help will come immediately. There was little to no noise from the neighbors either. Compared to all the other places Ive lived at, this one has felt the safest and I would strongly recommend anyone to make these there #1 choice. Distance from the university isnt an issue as shuttles are provided, shuttles even do trips for grocery shopping.
Last year I lived for four months in Sahara Apartments and I was surprised by all the services are there in their facilities, like laundry, gym and shuttle to the University and the grocery, the apartments are well furnished and are comfortable, plus the atmosphere is very quiet, suitable for studying. I spent good times in the game room, theater and the pool, the staff are very nice and helpful, and the cultural diversity in the Sahara Apartments enriched me personally. On the other hand, in case that youre in troubles with someone, the owner is very capable for to solve the difficulties in a just way, and you can feel always supported.
They are certainly sprucing up the place as of 2015, and by now, it looks rather pleasant. Their work with the refugee program is pretty admirable as well. It is much cheaper than the cheapest dorm alternative on campus, and their shuttle service ensures that you are never stranded from the classes you need to be at.
I lived at Sahara for almost a year. It is a very safe and secure place to live at. The landlord is not the only person that is nice but the whole staff that works at Sahara are kind, caring, and very friendly. I would definitely live here again and recommend anyone else who are looking for a place in Tucson AZ.
I loved the no noise policy. Not once was I woken up in the middle of the night by those noisy neighbors you get in regular apartments. The apartments are gated so I didnt have to worry about the safety of my car at night. The staff are very nice and courteous and will keep you updated when you need a repair done. They usually get to the repairs very quickly. I liked the fact that every floor had its own washer and dryer making it very convenient and theyre way cheaper than any laundromat. The shuttle was great for when my car broke down so I didnt have to walk to school in the mornings super early, so not a morning person. I think this apartments are great for the price theyre at, especially considering that all the amenities are included into it.
New management is terrible. They have overcharged me every month and it takes weeks of hounding them to correct my account. They dont care about the tenants at all.
Sahara apartments is a very good place to live and study. The place is quite and its near to University and Downtown. I really enjoyed to live there. All the staff were very nice and all the time are trying to help you and make easier your time there. Its not a place for parties, but trust me, you can get friends there who can hung up with you around 4th Av or downtown and come back walking.
Well located, they offer free shuttle to the university and to the groceries store. I asked for an special offer i did have to share my room with any one else, no roommate!
I love Sahara because its a perfect place to live and study, walking distance of UOFA and other points in the city. The internet is good, and they even have free TV. Ted is so friendly and always have a smile to help you. I will love to come back asap!!! Best place in Tucson.
Best owner ever! Mr. Ted, the owner is an extremely nice person who just help me to find a place to stay and figure out the way to settle all the things with passion. Although finally I find a place to stay with my friend (Im an short term exchange student), its still a good option for the one who are looking for a cozy place to stay! With the pool, gym room, game room, small theatre and even the bike renting, it should be one of the best apartment which is extremely close with the UA! 10/10👍🏻
I have found Sahara Apartments to be a very nice option for summer housing, and it fulfills my necessities quite well. It is affordable, has many amenities, and the manager is very nice. Would recommend if youre a student.
No complaints. I had a safe, quiet stay. It made home a great place to rest and study.
Currently staying at Sahara apartments,Rooms are furnished.Pool is well maintained. The gym is quite small.Air con works which is a must at this time of year.Free shuttle bus to U of A is great.
Nice folks, works well for college students who are looking to Bear Down and keep their nose in the books!! New owners and office ppl wait til your lease is up and really try to stick you with every little thing! Take pictures and keep records throughout your stay, like I have, so they cant stiff you in the end as you leave...
I lived in this apartment complex for a year from 2015 to 2016, and I gotta say this is a perfect place for a student. They have buses to take to you to school every 30 min, and there are grocery shuttles on every weekday. In case you miss the bus, you can just walk to school (to U of A its about 20-25 min walk). I did quite a bit of research before deciding what apartment to stay in, and this is probably the place that you can get everything you need as a student for the lowest price.
Very clean, 55 camera s on site, wow your safe here, its also huge, park like settings pool a lot bigger then it looked from out side. Very nice
Currently living at Sahara Apartments. Its quiet, safe, the rooms are very livable, and there are great facilities. For example, a private movie theater! It may look expensive, but thats primarily due to its location. Close to downtown and the U of A. All in all, its awesome.
I stayed here for about 9 months after I graduated from the University and was looking for jobs.Ted Mehr was extremely helpful and understanding. All the staff are also friendly and helpful.
Great place to live that is in between two main colleges (Pima Community College and the University of Arizona). This place gives a free bike with a cheap cost of a deposit (huge advantage!) and it is very convenient to use a bike in this area. Great place for students!
The amenities are actually totally fine, pool table, air hockey, grill and pool are all consistently in working order. However the apartments are small, dirty, poorly furnished and maintained. The heat is inconstant and due to the location its often quite loud at night.
Great and affordable place for a short term residence. I like the space and some of the staff makes you feel like home.
I stayed in a studio at Sahara Apartments. The location is perfect: 10-minute walk from downtown and 23-minute walk from the university. They have a shuttle to the university every half hour and it is round the corner from Pima Community College Downtown Campus. The staff are very helpful, they do their best to solve your problem. There used to be an internet problem, but they solved it before summer 2018. There is a pool and a hot tub around which you can hang out with friends! I miss Sahara!
Not a good place anymore since the management has changed a few months ago. Do not make a most regrettable mistake.
Nice space and good atmosphere, although the pool could use some cleaning.
Ok for the price. Security good. Great distance from the University.
I stayed at Sahara from August 2014 to May 2015. Overall, I think Sahara is a good place for those who want to concentrate on studying quietly, especially for international students. Although, I reported a noise problem a few times from my neighbors, the staff gently dealt with that. They are pretty friendly and are like a big family so that you never feel lonely staying there.Although, shopping malls are far from Sahara( which is often the case with Tucson), they have shuttle services for shopping malls and supermarkets everyday(when I was there).Regarding safety, no need to worry about a stranger breaking into the apartments, for you need the key to get in Sahara, and there are cameras at work in the premise of Sahara. In the lounge, they have a piing-pong table,a pool, an air hockey, and some others. Also, Sahara is equipped with a theater room where you can watch TV programs and movies, and play video games as well.I highly recommend Sahara especially for international students, for there are many people at Sahara who study English at CESL so it is easier to make friends. If I have chance to go to Tucson again, I will definitely stay at Sahara again.
Great community. Amazing manager.
The management is terrible. They are unable to distinguish between payments from myself or from my roommate, and several times charged me fees or even an additional month of rent that I did not owe. My apartment was crawling with cockroaches and it took about a month for anyone to respond to concerns about the obvious roach problem. I wouldnt recommend living here.
I went on a tour of the student housing at the Sahara and I loved the look of the facility, the amenities it has, and the office person was very nice.
I leaved one semester in Sahara and it was a great experience for me, I met a lot of people there and all the services were really good. I want to go back is a safe and nice place for students ❤️.
DO NOT LIVE HERE. Mostly condescending and incompetent staff, assigned me to the wrong room. Gave me key to already occupied room and walked in on someone. Room was filthy upon arrival with broken ac, ants and roaches everywhere. Pool was filthy and poorly Maintained. Cigarette butts everywhere, hall ways smell like cigarettes. Shuttle is convenient and drivers are very nice. Maintenance guys are great and efficient, but Owner sends out nasty emails threatening eviction. You can take the time to find a better and CLEANER place for the price.
I was in Sahara for 3 months and in couple of days I am leaving Tucson. I was doing my internship program in UA. Honestly I was supper lucky that heard about here. Saharas staffs are super friendly and welcoming. The management, Mr. Ted, is such a respectful person. In Sahara you dnt need to be worry about utilities, transportation, safety and many other things! As a student, if you are looking for a safe, calm, and comfortable place I profoundly suggest Sahara!
For two weeks I have been trying to talk with from desk but I cant were sent many email no answered, for many years I have been stay there passed apartment and never had this kind of problem however this year I can´t do a reservation at January 20 at February 20, 2020
Best place in tucson for students!! Ted is an amazing person and the complex is beautiful.
To be honest, the room were not good. Because I could use utensils in the cabinet, but all of which were very dirty in my opinion. When I came to Sahara for the first time, I hardly found Wi-Fi password, it was really important to tell my parent that I’m fine. But as the email that I had received before arrive said folse password. That’s why I was apart from any connection. I would like to change Introduction for new residents.By the way, I was good system that you sometimes gave us a ride to Walmart and Shcool.
Very nice staff, kind of run down propertyEdit: took the tour of the whole property and stayed with a friend for a while. Was enough time to form an opinion.
The front of the building is deceiving at night looking more like a deserted sunset drive-in than an former hotel. But walk inside, day or night, and youll find that youve entered fantastic place.
I stayed at Sahara Apartments during the summer of 2015 while I was an REU student at NOAO. I cannot in good faith recommend staying at Sahara Apartments. Although many of the staff members were friendly and the location is close to downtown, my experience at Sahara Apartments was extremely negative.I will begin with the facilities. Most importantly, the rooms (I stayed in a two-person studio with a balcony) are very small. There is barely enough room to fit the two beds in the area, especially one wall needs enough space for the kitchen. To make matters worse, the roof leaked every time it rained (I was there during the monsoon season), and when my roommate and I asked a member of the staff to take a look at it, we were told that the landlord had known about the roof being a problem for a while. In addition, the pool area was nice, but not well maintained. Also, I was originally very excited that there was a gym on location, but the gym equipment was essentially unusable. The treadmill slipped when above walking speeds, the bike and elliptical seemed to be on the edge of falling apart, and the weight training equipment was almost nonexistent. Worst of all, bike theft is a regular problem, since tenants are encouraged to use a bike rack that is easy to cut into.To some degree, I was willing to tolerate all of the issues with the building, since the price of staying for a few months was unobjectionable. However, my interactions with the manager were unforgivable. After running into some issues with the payment system, I sent the manager a brief email asking for clarification about a charge on my invoice (which listed no explanation of charges) before I made the payment. Instead of a simple explanation that part of my original payment had not gone through the system properly (a problem that others had already had with the system), I received an email telling me to ‘do the math’ and chastising me for (and I quote) ‘copping an attitude’, being ‘indignant and belligerent’, and accusing me of thinking they were trying to cheat me.When I went to meet with him about the incident, the manager further patronized me when I asked him for an explanation of the problem with the system and noted that his hostile response seemed unprovoked. He told me that in asking to meet with him privately I was ‘acting like his daughter’ and refused to speak to me about any of my concerns regarding my continued use of the payment system or his treatment of his patrons. Although I will not speak for my peers, I am struck by the fact that most of the male students that I knew who interacted with the manager were treated with much more respect than the female students.I would hope that most tenants at Sahara Apartments have more positive experiences, but I wish that I had encountered an honest review or two before making the decision to stay there last summer.
My experience living in Sahara Apartments was amazing i could met new people from all over the world, the pool and the gym are very nice and in general all the areas are great,i recommended a lot this amazing place.
Granddaughter lives here and goes to UA and likes it
Perfectly priced for students that want to live off campus, but not too far.
A nice and quiet environment for students. Staff is very helpful and throughout my 4 years stay, I have only good things to say about them.
I had a one week stay at sahara apartments recently. I should say that this residential complex is beautiful, clean and calm with adequate amenities, friendly staff and also reasonable prices.
It is a good apt for student. You will feel secure in the apt.
Greatest value for price & absolute best management.
Its a good place for students, the rooms are too small for two people but the personnel are very kind and always help, also they have a pool, jacuzzi and a little movie theatre that comes very handy when you want to relax. :)
There was an ant infestation when my friend moved in, but its overall been alright. Its expensive for the quality and mostly the advantage is being close to the UA and downtown.
Its like being in a dorm without the convenience of living right on campus. The deal with paying the lease is that you pay half a year up front and the other half in January. That way you dont have to worry about making rent every month, its already taken care of. The complex is gated with an alarm and you have to have a key to get through the gate so thats nice but it is in a really bad side of town. The rooms are small and if you go with the cheapest option of $360 a month, you have a roommate. They have a roommate matching system that you can go through to choose what kind of roommate that you want but I did not get the roommate that I had requested. Theyre suppose to give you their information so that you two could talk and get to know each other before living together. I was never given anything and only met my roommate on the day I was moving in. She was awful. She never took out the trash from her side of the room and since she was on the side closest to the door, I had to wade through the overflow of trash to get out the door every morning and again every time I came back. It was disgusting, I dont know how anyone can live like that. She also never washed her dishes and would let them pill up. In a studio apartment, it makes it hard to prep and cook dinner and wash my dishes when hers are all in the sink. She always says she would clean up but never does. The building that the apartments are in is 4 floors high. There is an elevator which makes it easier when you have groceries and live on the 4th floor. The rooms are okay, and the hallways look like their from a horror film. They desperately need a makeover. They do have a lot of amenities though such as a reasonable sized swimming pool, hot tub, workout room, theater, and study room (although wifi in that room was horrible and the printers never worked). The office staff was friendly but sometimes a little too friendly. One would hug me every time he saw me so I avoided him whenever I could.Every floor has a laundry room that is operated by this cards that you would load money onto and use as currency. The cards are $5 which is annoying since they dont give you the options of coins so you have to get the card. The laundry rooms consist of one washer and one dryer, priced relatively cheap but when you have to run all your clothes through the dryer 3 times before its dry, it becomes pricey. Yes, they say not to overload the dryers but I once did just a load of two towels and I still had to run them through the dryer twice. Its really annoying having to pay for something that does something halfway.Commute to campus is easy since they have a shuttle that runs one way every half hour. The shuttle themselves are dreadful. The door to the van felt like it would go flying off if the shuttle took a turn a little too sharp. The bus is also not that great. Its not comfortable and old. They were getting a new bus when I was moving out. They said it would run on solar power and be made entirely of glass, and in Arizona, I dont need to tell you why thats a bad idea. For the price that it is, its not bad but I wouldnt recommend it unless you had very little money and no other choice. If I had to do it all over again, I would just pay for a full room to myself but for that price, I can find a nicer place elsewhere. All in all, you get what you pay for.
Its a calm and cool place to live in, I had a great experience at the apartments.
It was my the most satisfying stay at Sahara Apartments for almost a year. I have traveled to many countries and rented several apartments in the past, but my stay at Sahara Apartments was the best and most peaceful so far.My warmest appreciation to Ted Mehr, Owner of the Sahara Apartments, for facilitating my stay. Ted is extremely reliable and helpful in providing me a place to stay. After staying for 5 months in the Apartment No 1204, I travel back home due to some visa issues. I was not sure whether I will get the same apartment once I came back to the U of A, Tucson. But he assured he will try his best to provide the same apartment or arrange for my stay at the Sahara. I am pleased to write that he kept his words and I stayed another 6 months in the same apartments. He is very friendly in nature and the kindness he has shown to me is unforgettable. Thank you very much Ted, I really appreciate that.I preferred to stay here because of the few amenities such as fully furnished studio with in-house laundry facility, free internet, TV and shuttle services to U of A campus and grocery shopping. However, for me the most important feature was security. I liked the fact that the place is very much secured with community locked gates and security cameras. The place is very peaceful and I feel is the best for place students and visiting faculty like me.The office employees were very co-operative and they make me feel at home. They were always there to make my stay pleasant. The services they render to me was highly appreciable. The shuttle service was on time and not even single day the shuttle to the campus was delayed or unavailable. The grocery and mall shuttle services were very much necessary for me because bringing weekly groceries and bottles of drinking water would have been very challenging by public transport. The place is very near to downtown and several restaurants. Besides, the place is well connected by the public transport.I will highly recommend this place to stay in Tucson. This is the best place for students, visitors to U of A and tourists.Thank you very to Ted and his crew.Sumita Acharjee, Visiting Scientist, U of ARented Sahara Apt. No 1204
I stayed at Sahara Apartments for one semester. They were the only ones who offered an option for leasing less than a year. The place is pretty good if youre studying at UoA, as it is very near. I mostly traveled by bike, which the staff lent me, only asking for a security deposit which they returned to me after returning the bike. The staff was very courteous to me and assisted me whenever I had any issues. My room had everything I needed to live there, with my only complaint being that the showering was a battle for getting the right water temperature. The internet connection was great. There are laundry rooms on every floor, so there is no need to go somewhere else to wash your clothes.Probably one of the best parts was the grocery shuttle service which allowed me to easily do grocery shopping, and also takes you to UoA.Overall, while the place may look a little bit old, its a really good place to live if youre studying near UoA.
The place it is good, a little bit small the rooms for two people but the problem was with the people that worked with the shcool transportation. Sometimes they were like mad and yell to the students without no reason.
I stayed at the Sahara for 6 weeks. The day I arrived they gave me the wrong room, with no sheets, no nothing inside, so it was a bad first impression.But.The next day day the corrected the mistake and relocated me to my normal room. From there on it was very smooth. Air conditioning worked perfect, TV had HBO, and I felt secure the whole time. Staff was friendly and fixed all problems that came up, mainly wifi related things. They have a shuttle that brings you to the UofA and grocery stores etc. This was a great service. Driver was friendly and picked me up when he saw me on the street walking. I even approve of the music in the shuttle :PI saw 1 cockroach in my whole stay. I did not even bother to report anything. In general the whole complex seems very clean but not to the point of luxurious.Pricing is fair. Can be very cheap if you have a roommate.Washing machines are in good condition and cheap.Very quit place, perfect to stay for a few weeks, if not more. There was a pool, but i never used it. It seemed ok.The neighborhood can be bad if you venture too far west, but along Stone Ave. it ok and you are very close to the University of Arizona, 20min walking distance in a well lit and busy street (Stone and University).Very good bang for the buck. I recommend it.
Good side of this apartment- Have kitichen in the room.- They lend bicycles and it is refundable (cost 150$).- Internet is fast (faster than school wifi).- Staffs are friendly.- very cheap compare to other apartment.Bad side of this apartment- Due to low prices of apartment many africans live in this aparment and they are annyoing as hell. They gather at pool and sing and talk until 2A.M. I couldnt sleep until at least 1 A.M while I was living in this apartment.- washing machine doesnt work (I had to go to coin laundry shop every week).- Gym is so small. For people who expect nice working out place, this is not a good place to live. Gym has 3 machines and 2 running machines.
Everything was clean and fast when Richard was there nice environment
My daughter is now in her 4th year at Sahara mainly for the price and the kitchen access or I would have moved her after the first year. Almost every roommate she has had, she has been unable to communicate with as they speak no English. The security is not what they claim as her bike was stolen right off of her balcony. the Wi-Fi they promise is intermittent at best. And every year she is forced to switch apartments even though she has paid for the full year lease to avoid this.If the dorms at UofA had cooking facilities and at least semi private baths I would have removed her from this place after the first year.
Always something wrong with the entrance gate. Weird smells in random areas.
The rooms were as cheap as can be and while the design was bland .
Awful experience. The owner Ted is dishonest and greedy.
Scary lookin dawg
It was good the time i spent in there.
Good place for short term
Beds are small and mattress is not very thick
There is a lot of ants in the apartment and the internet is not working all the time, otherwise this place is very good for students
Easy to spot from the street
Bad gym, not clean water, and the owner wants every dollar out of you
Not a bad apartment!
