The personnel here dont know what they are doing. The whole office personnel change back in December of 2020 they are NOT doing a good job at keeping track or fixing payment errors. So random payments will come out of nowhere and when you pay them off they dont fix the error. My personal observation is if you do the right thing they will get on you and those that are doing the wrong thing they say nothing to. Dont live here unless you are just staying one year.

We broke the lease early to get out of this horrible smelly place. It reeked of cigarettes and they never came to clean the air filters. We also had to listen to the neighbors super loud snoring EVERY NIGHT. Once we moved out, they still charged us about 60$ a month for water usage, even though there wasnt anyone occupying the apartment. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially if you have a family.

Communication is terrible. Had to ask multiple times for my renewal lease. Maintenance drug its feet for 3 days while my AC was broken, I work from home and it felt like outside inside and when the maintenance MANAGER finally brought a portable he had the audacity to come after the sun was set and say my ac was blowing cold air, took an additional 2 or 3 days for the vendor to come out to fix. But they forced me to give up my portable at 8am before the ac was actually even fixed.Also, I filed a emergency ticket, regarding a leak under my sink.Had to force Maintenance to look at it [when they came to prematurely remove the portable ac] it has been 10 days since I filed the original order, they have been in for The ac repair and inspections so now both maintenance and front office are aware that there is a bucket under my sink that is overflowing each morning I wake up and apparently they do not care.This is not an opinion.This is a statement of facts.Hope this helps you .But heres where they reply and apologize to try and save face publicly when my emails, phone calls, voice messages do not get returned

Poor/rude management, back parking lot seems to attract a variety of criminals, I have had to call TPD multiple times on tenants and non tenants. Do not leave anything in your vehicle, my car was broken into and they stole my covid mask collection like really? Bed bugs, Knats in the sink and bathtub drains,loud drunk neighbors with no consideration for others. If I could give this place a lower rating I would. Dont waste your time or money here definitely not worth it.

I just moved in and Lindsey has been helpful from the very beginning. All the staff is very friendly and the response time to all my emails have been answered with in the hour. I absolutely love my new place and the upgrade they did for me.

1. A couple of years ago they towed my daughters car out of a parking spot I paid for. I did not have to pay for towing but I had to go all the way to south side to get it.2. I called three times to get the bathroom redone, it was never taken care of.3. The heating element in my oven/stove caught fire,. CORPORATE called me about it and sent someone over but it was obviously never taken care of because...4. Both the bathroom and the stove were ADDED TO THE THINGS I was told I owed for when I broke the lease. I did not clean the oven/stove because it CAUGHT FIRE!5. I had bed bugs, they still tried to charge me even though my renters insurance paid for it. That I have proof of.6. I lived above a bunch of noisy potheads. They were reported and nothing was ever done. My apartment always smelled like marijuana.Breaking the lease was only supposed to cost me $1543, which I did not have a problem with. I gave them a cashiers check for $1100. They sent me to collections with a balance of $1343. I am disputing the bed bug treatment but I still had to pay $980 something. Will I get that $537 back?? Probably not!! Extra note on that further down.7. They charged me for not getting the carpet cleaned even though it was done two weeks prior as included in the bed bug treatment.8. I had a huge problem with people parking in the spots I paid for. I would call it in but their security didnt go on duty until 9 pm. One night, security called me at 1 am and left me a message to tell me that they could not remember which spot a truck was parked in. That stupid truck was there in MY SPOT until 8 am. My daughters car was in the other one so I got to park behind Ross because all of the other open spots were taken.9. I NEVER GOT A STATEMENT OF CHARGES...WHICH IS ILLEGAL! AND THEY SENT ME TO COLLECTIONS 3 1/2 WEEKS AFTER I MOVED OUT!!! They said they sent me a copy, so I caught them in a lie that I cant prove. I still do not have a copy that was supposed to get sent to my current address.10. I only know about some of these charges because a nice person at COLLECTIONS told me about them and actually tried to help me with all of this.On a side note; up until now, the office people were very nice, personable and professional. I am considering the fact that the virus has made things complicated. But I almost always paid my rent early and I stayed to myself. Good tenants are not considered there.ANYONE BREAKING A LEASE MAKE SURE THE OFFICE HANDS YOU A STATEMENT OF CHARGES INSTEAD OF MAILING IT, AND DO A FINAL WALK THROUGH WITH THEM!!!

The apartments are absolutely falling apart and the neighbors are loud, nosy, and like to spread rumors without basis. Office staff are friendly, but dont seem to really care about the state of the complex. Cops were constantly being called while I was living there (by other people, not me). I hated it after a week of living there, let alone a year. Im so happy to be out of there.

I agree with every single bad review on here with the exception of bed bugs. Luckily we did not have to deal with that. Had a laundry list of things on the move in check list from move in over a year ago that have still not been fixed. Was also told the same thing about the monstrous roaches and not being able to get the exterminator out to spray because of Covid. I had one crawling on me twice in my bed. I hate bugs and keep my house clean as to not have/get bugs. Have had more pest issues here than anyplace I have ever lived before. Had a mouse and chew threw the wall in between the kitchen and the master bedroom. Finally got the exterminator out and took over a month to get rid of him because they only give you glue traps and say good luck and expect you to get rid of it if the mouse gets caught. Not my job. I wouldnt recommend this place if it was the last place on Earth. Glad to be leaving when my lease is up.

Ive been here about six months. Office staff friendly and helpful. Maintenance has been delayed sometimes because we are in a pandemic duh. My home is cosy and comfortable. Lots of space and amenities. Staff looks out for us and genuinely care. Never have they been rude to me but I havent given them a reason to be. I love it here im in my own little paradise and its quiet mostly. My dog is happy here. I dont see why the bad reviews. I recommend to live here.

Unfortunately it seems that I will have to agree with the negative post completed. I have also had a laundry list of maintenance issues, most have been fixed, but definitely not timely. This most recent issue is really bad. We have bugs in our apartment, have put in multiple requests to have the building sprayed and checked, still have bugs. This last request we were told because of the increase in covid cases in our state that they were not going to be coming in to address our bug issue (last time i checked bugs carried diseases too). I was also told that the city just recently sprayed the sewers and to contact them ( what the heck for?). This maintenance issue is not an issue other tenants at other apartment complexes are dealing with. Other apartments have their offices open, pools open, and they service their tenants, with precautions of course, but they do their job. If I were to deviate from my lease or conduct here I would be getting notices upon notices on my door, but MEB can decide to shut things down or not make our health and safety a priority when they feel necessary. Having a survey about this situation or a complex zoom meeting would be nice to address these issues. Having a say in whats going on at the place where you live should be a right not a privilege.

Ive lived here for almost a year and I can genuinely say that this is a really nice place to live. Overall the vibe is peaceful and the place is nice looking. The pool here is great, theyre dog friendly, and they even host events! The staff here are professional and ward working, I always felt welcomed. The few maintenance issues Ive had have got resolve quickly. A bonus is the proximity to the mall, three supermarkets, home and clothing stores, In-and-Out, and you can walk to the Gaslight theater and Little Anthonys, which is pretty cool. I love it here. I would definitely recommend these apartments.

The closet doors will come off the tracks and fall and hit you when your not expecting it. I almost got knocked out cold the other day my daughter thought I was dead under ther closet door. The door knobs fall apart easily. I sweat in my apartment till they finally figued out that my ac needed freeon.

Currently getting ready to leave for the following issues:we moved in they stated that they had cleaned the apartment so we could meet our move in date, however it was not clean. By that I mean there was bloody snot left on walls, a dishwasher that didn’t work, glass in the bottom of my over, the roof of the over was hanging and months later fell straight off. Oh and the air conditioning would constantly stop working and the last time it stopped working it took them a month and a half to fix it. Constantly they would either file things incorrectly or not at all, sometimes they’d misspell our names or emails making it impossible to know exactly what’s happening. I’d never rent from here and highly recommend trying somewhere else that can offer you the level of professionalism and care for the same cost that you deserve.

I would recommend this place to anyone. Everyone at the front desk was so helpful and willing to work with our situation. Meggan was the woman who helped us move in. A special shout out to the head of maintenance who came to our apartment at 11 at night and was happy to help us out. Great people, great place!

Have been here 2 years and have no complaints. The office is easy to deal with and they treat you with respect. Shopping is within walking distance and so are buses. The maintenance team is outstanding and respond quickly.

Went in was told regardless of credit I would just pay a deposit and was convinced to pay the application fee with the promise that worse case scenario would be a deposit. To my surprise I go in to pay deposit and was told I was declined based on credit and cannot do anything about it and ate it on application fee. Good way to make a quick $60 I guess but not very professional big scammers. Thanks for the robbery and dishonesty I suppose I’m grateful to not be stuck with these people.

I woke up one morning to the strong smell of paint thinner in my apartment. I came to the conclusion it was the construction going on in the my neighboring unit downstairs. It was not safe to be in my house so I called the office to see if someone could come by. They basically refused to believe and and did not send someone over.I had to call the fire department so I could live in my home. They helped me out. They called the office. Only then, did someone from brookwood show up.They promised to inform me of all future construction on neighboring units. 9am this week I woke up to hammers banging on my wall. Construction 10 feet from my door. ZERO notice.Dont expect them to represent you. They represent their bosses.

I have not read any review but i lived there and it is a very comfortable community, i liked it because i dont socialize with people i do not know and i barely got to see neighbors. The people i saw is respectful we all minded our own business and it is sad for me to move out but i got transferred at my job but there was nothing a could do, so i give it a 5 star, very clean also.

If you don’t mind TPD, detectives and crime scene making a minimum of monthly visits(much like south side living) section 8/state funded housing,trash(people) as well as real trash throughout the complex,dog poop EVERYWHERE other than the gated “dog run” with multiple poop bag/trash stations for the dog poop, tons of flea ridden cats that the owner just lets run free into other people porches. The smell of cigarette smoke or weed smoke into your home from units attached to yours, AWFUL insulation,electric bills over $200 a month from AC running constantly but escaping through doors,windows,so forth. Brookwood was decent but has gone downhill within the last year or so. Tenants that have lived in the complex for 10 plus years mostly elderly in fixed incomes having their rent go up every year. Constantly dirty pool, you can hear everything your neighbors do through the walls, filthy laundry rooms, courtesy patrol that you never see and if you do you will see them driving around in his car then who knows where he disappears to for the rest of the time. The ladies in the office are great for the most part, sometimes big issues are swept under the rug but other issues they try to address and fix.

Nobody is exaggerating about how terrible these apartments are! You have Charles Young that wrote two different reviews for these apartments, giving them five stars both times...seems to me the office staff needs to think of a better way to review their own apartments. This Charles Young that is claiming my wife is lying about these cockroach, mouse, and bedbug infested apartments is a worthless office staff member that got her little feelings hurt. If you read other peoples reviews, you can see that other people have claimed the same thing, including the robberies that happen regularly. So, if my wife is lying, that must mean several other people are lying, too.Charles Young claims to have lived here for three years and he somehow never met Terry, the assistant manager? Terry worked here for about ten months before they asked him to leave because of his rude attitude. Another person left a comment about him in the reviews and if you do the time math, you can see that this made up character Charles Young would have lived here at the time Terry worked here. The comment was made two years ago and Charles Young said hes lived here for three years. Nice try, office staff. In fact, at least 90% of all of the five star comments are made by office staff.Charles also claims we were evicted. We lived here for four years so claiming we were evicted isnt buy able. Once again, nice try.We should have known these apartments were going to be a piece of garbage from the day we moved in because there were two used syringes; one stuck in the garbage disposal and the other shoved down the bathtub drain along with a bunch of paper and a Barbie Doll head. If you check our apartment records, you can see that maintenance had to come fix that.So, yeah, these apartments are a piece of trash and so are the office staff that have to rate them just to make them look good.Edit: Terry Moore is reading and writing reviews and attacking others about four years AFTER he was fired? Ha ha ha! Sure...that sounds legit. Once again its angry office staff that cant handle the truth and making fake accounts to rate their own apartments. Get a life.

I signed a lease to move in last month, turned everything in on time and kept in contact with one of the leasing managers, Terri. My move in date was to be 1/12/16. Today, eight days before I was supposed to move in, Terri text messages me from his personal phone number asking me to call the office. I was then told that the previous tenant is refusing to move out of the apartment and I can either wait till the end of the month or move into a bigger, more expensive apartment. They would only give me a $15 discount for the inconvenience and the leasing manager stated that she didnt have to help me, she was going out on a limb for me because the situation was not their fault. She ended the conversation with offering me out of the lease because she didnt know what else to say. I went into the office to get something in writing stating I would be getting my money back and my lease was voided. While I was there Terri made sarcastic comments, took a phone call during our conversation and ignored me for long periods of time

I do not recommend this apt to anyone! Not even my worst enemy...when we first moved in to the apt everything was great! Friendly staff! Then they switched over to a different management, and man did that change everything, new staff in the office and Shandra made a complete turn around as being manager...our a.c. unit didnt work correctly all summer! The a.c. unit ran and ran and ran it never shut off and the apt reaching up to 90 and my electric bill being 200 dollars for a 2 bedbedroom apt, I dont know how many times I called them at the office just for them to take the temp from the vents and go Oh its blowing cold, its just because you live on the top floor.this wasnt my first upstairs apt, my last place would FREEZE you out!! I had kids 4 years old and under I the apt sweating because they would be playing and it being so hot in the apt, but the office didnt care cause they are to cheap to fix it..I had a friend that moved in and had the same issue and they issued him a portable a.c. unit and replaced his a.c. unit and now he says it works great. Apt is outdated bad and is not worth the price, our apt had MULTIPLE sink holes in the floor and cracks in the walls, and they never fix the lighting outside by the stairs after telling them multiple times...I had to pay 500 dollar deposit after they told me over the phone it would only be 87...I have much more to say but take my word, dont live there, its a trap!!!

There are 31 registered sex offenders within a one mile radius of these apartments and tons of violence and robbery police reports, too. That must be why all of these loud drunk thugs with their annoying loud music keep coming from the surrounding streets to party at the pool once the office is closed. This place is asking for too much money for having to deal with this kind of stuff.

This is Terry Moore and I would like to adress Joey Tinsel if that in fact is His/ Her name.Stop hiding behind aliases and at least be a real person..that is if you have the cajones which I doubt you do.Let me be very clear here.I left Greystar (the management company that ran Brookwood for the owners) to take a position as a general partner for a local management company. I was NOT discharged.As I remember ol Joey Tinsel... Im fairly sure I know who you are. And if my memory serves me correctly you were on our non renewal list at Brookwood.That said, let me finish by saying I have NEVER worked with a finer group of people than I had the pleasure of working with at Brookwood.And if I was rude to you I certainly apologize...but let me tell you it takes dealing with a major idiot such as yourself to get me to that point.My advice to you is to grow up and start acting like an adult instead of scurrying around like a cockroach ..using fake names to hurt people that you dont like.The only thing I can say is : Congratulations! to Brookwood to finally be rid of you. Living in these apartments is just as bad as living in the ghetto.1. Our ACs compressor was broken before we moved in and our apartment so hot in the summer. It took 18 months of me asking them to fix it but they kept claiming it was fine. In the end, I started going to the office every single day for about five weeks telling them it needs a new compressor. One time I told the office staff that it was 89 degrees in my apartment and his rude response was by law we dont have to do anything about it until it reaches 90 degrees. Finally the manager came to my apartment and saw I wasnt lying to them and decided to fix it. They use the minimum size cooling system required by state law so it was still an uncomfortable 79 or 80 degrees but that was much better than before. Also, there is only one vent in the living room which is supposed to cover the living room, dining area, bathroom, hallway, and kitchen. Five rooms for one vent.2. This place has a lot of problems with bedbugs, cockroaches, and mice!For the bedbugs, mattresses were being thrown out all the time. Some were being dropped over the walls. One mattress was sliced down the center and had a blanket and pillow stuffed inside. Another one had the word bedbugs spray painted on it. The office was always saying you signed a contract that says we dont have to do anything about it so they never helped with the issue.For the cockroache problem, this was a nightmare! These people moved in and brought roaches with them. The roaches began to spread around the building in less then two months. They let these people stay living there for almost three years before evicting them even though everybody in the building had complained about the roaches multiple times. I went to their apartment once and this is how bad it was: roaches were crawling in and out of their vents, crawling all over walls, ceiling, and furniture, crawling on your feet, legs, and arms if you stood or sat long enough, crawled out the front door when someone would open it, and crawled on them while they slept. It was so bad that all of the appliances had to be replaced because they couldnt get the roaches out of them. They were evicted only because somebody called the health department on the manager. After the people had been evicted, however, nothing was done about the roaches! The entire building was now infested with millions of them (Im not exaggerating). After two weeks they finally did something about it but it took several months to kill the majority (theres still some downstairs).For the mouse problem, multiple buildings are infested. The office didnt want to exterminate our whole building even though we could hear the mice crawling between the walls of the bedrooms. At first, they were trying to say it was just one mouse and he came in because of the rain. In other words, one mouse jumped up 18 stairs to hide from the rain. With our own mouse traps, we caught one and then the office tried saying you already caught it so you dont need the exterminator. I corrected them and told them mice live in groups and there are more inside the walls. They finally sent someone to seal off the mouse holes under our sink and behind the dishwasher. They put a few sticky traps down but that was it. Because they did not try to clear the whole building of mice and seal off all of the openings, the mice kept crawling around inside the walls and eventually made more holes. There was a total of six different holes by the time we moved out. We (not the manager) killed two mice and a third one got stuck between the oven walls and burned to death. We could smell him the next four or five times we used the oven.3. There is a big problem with breaking and entering! It happens a lot. This lady locked herself in her bedroom because some guy came in and started robbing her in the middle of the day. She was so traumatized and wanted to move out but the manager said she would be charged if she broke her lease.Why pay over $800 a month for broken ACs, bedbugs, roaches, mice, and break ins?

Worst Place Ever and i thought my last residential living place was bad. These people take FOREVER to get one thing done. Not to mention the other complaints ive heard from people living in the area. Bed Bugs, Black Mold. Our Apartment started falling apart just a few months into our lease. The Jr 1 bedroom apartment has great personality, but its not worth the time. Former Company Greystar sold the property because its to much on an investment for them to maintain and catch up the work that is seriously lacking there. Goodbye forever.

Come February I have been living here for 3 years I absoultly LOVE the staff and maitnence Andrea and Shandra are awesome and so is Alex. They fix things promptly, and apartments are spacious and beautiful. I lived in there one bedroom and currently in the two bedroom. Love the place for the price and location my son just walks to school right next door. If youre looking here search no more youve found the right place! I highly reccomend them!

BEWARE. There was an assault on the property and the suggestion to residents was to not walk outside alone at night. How about improving the property or fixing any of the broken light bulbs around. I would NOT move here. Very unsafe. Disrespectful staff. Counting down until my lease ends.

Caught 2 mice in my apartment so far. Food has been thrown on my car 3 times. vomit in the parking lot twice. Cigarette and weed smoke come through the vents constantly because the vents in the building are all connected to each other. So glad my lease is almost up.

Great under hsl, place was getting cleaned up, upgraded apartments, pool and community room were getting upgraded. Then Grey Start bought it midmay through our lease and renovations stopped, communicaton went to hell, bad neibors started moving in, hours on paper ate not what th. Staff actually keep. Calling in 5 times might get you one answer but might not, never expect to get a return call, even if its about something important. They wont do anything about loud noisey neighbors.(8 months of all hours slaming, music, dog barking, fighting and pounding on walls from our upstairs and nothing has been done exept a talk to them). The manage wont call you back. You cant go in and see him as he is always with corporate even if i can see him just sitting there doing nothing.In summery avoid unless you like hassle.
