I’ve been seeing Dr. Thomas and his outstanding staff since relocating to Sparks last year.I have had extensive deep cleaning and several crowns replaced.In all my years of seeing dentists—and I’m no youngster—Dr. Thomas is BY FAR the best.Moreover, previous crowns involved gooey molds that soaked your shirt in drool, temporary crowns, visits to fit and maybe refit the permanent crowns then praying that they work.Dr. Thomas has the technology and equipment to create and fit permanent crowns in a single visit.Moreover, one particular previous crown left a food trap large enough to pack a snack. Dr. Thomas remedied that problem too. And I’m the world’s biggest chicken. When procedures require a shot or two to mitigate the pain, I don’t feel a thing, not even the injection—ever!All staff are just great—front office, hygienists, x-ray, management.They accept my insurance and many others so that is a plus. But even if they did not, this dental crew is worth every cent.

By far the best dental experience in my life. Quick & painless repair of a broken tooth that required root canal and crown. I didn’t even realize that he had completed the root canal it was that pain free! Staff is friendly. Dr. Marc is an amazing dentist with very skilled hands.Again ZERO pain!

Dr. Marc is a cool guy, but I was up-sold by his staff and felt like I was lied to. I floss my teeth everyday, and Im quite paranoid/OCD, so I literally havent missed a day of brushing or flossing for years, along with getting 6 month cleanings regularly, FOR YEARS AND YEARS.During covid, I had lost my insurance and came in to get a cleaning. I paid out of pocket. The out-of-pocket rate was very reasonable. That said, I noticed a giant cardboard advert for a new deep cleaning tool/procedure in the lobby where I was waiting. In the back of my mind I was thinking I hope they dont try to push this service on me.I was assigned to a new young lady who would clean my teeth. She checked my gaps and assigned everything a 5 to 7. Im rarely over a 3-4. She also kept noting I had severe bleeding everywhere. I knew she was lying at this point as my gums dont bleed when I floss (quite vigorously I might add). She went on to tell me about the deep cleaning service they were offering (the giant cardboard advert in the lobby) and proceeded to tell me how theyd like me to come in for 4 deep cleaning sessions, 1 cleaning per quadrant, over the course of 4 weeks, at a once again reasonable cost given the service offered. However, I didnt need a deep cleaning and she was lying to me about the gaps and bleeding. I know people who have had deep cleanings. These were people who hadnt seen a dentist in years who also never maintained their teeth and had terrible gum disease.At the end of the day, I was satisfied with my cleaning but not the lying and up-selling. 7 months later, now insured, I went to another established dental practice up Los Altos. Didnt tell them a thing going in. Gaps were measured at 2-3 all around. Doc told me you have no bleeding and your teeth are very clean, so this is going to be a very quick cleaning. Was out of there 10 minutes later. He told me to keep up what I was doing.I felt like Vista Dental Care viewed me as an income stream rather than as a person. In contrast, I felt like a valued family member at the other dentist I went to. Id like to give Vista Dental Care the benefit of the doubt though and chalk it up to them being desperate to turn over a profit to stay in business when the entire state basically shut down last year and many people lost their businesses. Vista Dental Care is definitely competent, but the sales tactics and vibe was like walking into a (fancy) car dealership rather than a dentists office. I hope the culture has changed a bit for the better.

Always a great experience! Dr. Thomas and his staff are extremely passionate about what they do. I have been a patient here for about 10+ years now and never had a bad experience. They treat you like family and ensure that you are comfortable. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Thomas and his staff for al of your dental needs!

Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. Greet their customers warmly, helpful with questions regarding treatment or insurance. And most importantly, very caring.

Professional is the only way to describe the doctor and the staff. He can make crowns, install implants, or do almost anything in his office. I just had an appointment and the crown was made while I waited.

Impressive and up to date dental care. The staff is professional, but very friendly and make you feel comfortable. My hygienist is the very best and feel the work that she is doing is far beyond. I have had several teeth crowned and have been very pleased with the turn around time it takes for the completion. Dr Thomas is excellent and so is Bruna.

I have been to many dentists in Reno and Sparks but the best dentist so far is Vista Dental Care in Sparks... theyre the only one thatll not sell you what you dont need. Vista Dental Care is a nice place to visit, the doctor and the staffs are very good and they gives the best treatment. I can say this because I have been with them for over four years and theyre the best I knew so far and Ill like to recommend them to friends and family.

See Update below: I changed my ratingI wish I was leaving a more positive review. My husband and I moved here and were wanting to get regular dental services establised. I called and explained our separate dental benefits. I have Humana Medicare. I was led to believe that they were in network with Humana/Medicare. (as it turns out they were a year ago but were no longer at the time I asked the question). So I went in for my cleaning appointment fully trusting the fact that they were in network! The office is clean and the staff are friendly. I have known I needed some extra dental work…they quoted me a cost of $4,900.00 some dollars for a crown/inplant . Through this discussion I was informed that they were NOT with Humana which means I am now responsible for 100% of the $280 cleaning! If they were in Network, my insurance would have paid 100’%!!! I was so disappointed! I told them it would have been helpful if they would have been up front with me initially when I clearly asked them. They did offer to allow me to make payments. That wasn’t the point. I am now doing my due diligence to locate another dental office.Update: Today, Jamie, the Office Manager called and we had a very supportive understanding about how communication can be improved with future Medicare customers. Doctor Marc also gave me a 50% discount on my bill which was unexpected and greatly appreciated. Like I said in my earlier review, the staff is friendly and I can now say their customer care is outstanding!

If you are looking for an excellent dentist, you need to come to Vista Dental!!I was looking for a new dental provider close to home, after having awful experiences at a local chain dentist. Dr. Thomas is WONDERFUL. He found problems that they never told me about. He got me set up with a treatment plan, and set up a consultation. The consultation was so helpful, he talked to me, and he made sure he answered my questions. I feel like he truly cares about his patients. I feel so much better about my dental health thanks to Dr. Thomas.The hygentists are very friendly and helpful, and want to make sure you understand what they are doing.The front desk girls are so sweet and helpful. They took the time to explain the insurance with me and my payments.The whole office is friendly, helpful and really care, right from Dr. Thomas on down. I really cant say enough good things about them. They have a patient for life!

My first visit to Vista Dental Care provided a seamless transition from my previous dental office in another city. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Bruna did a great job of cleaning. Dr. Thomas was cordial and professional. I am very pleased to have chosen this office on the recommendation of a friend after 21 years of very satisfactory care elsewhere. I shall stay with Vista!! Finally a dental office with an awesome dentist and an amazing staff. 🤩👍🏼They got me in for an emergency and while my pain had me in discomfort, the staff and dentist made me feel better.The fact that he made time for me so suddenly, meant a lot to me. He called me kiddo and for some reason that made me feel safe. They also play good music. (Sometimes its the little things.)I would try them out if you are looking for a caring, dentist in the Sparks area, if not; try them anyways. They are worth the drive! 😁

The dentist is great. The staff tried to charge me for s procedure that I didnt want or needed. The staff is friendly enough, however, I got 3 different answere on what my insurance would cover. This cost me several hundred dollars after the fact

I never imagined that I would write a review that going to the dentist is a pleasant experience. Everyone in the office including my dental hygienist is nice and welcoming. The cleanings are painless. I have not had to wait for my appointment unlike many doctors offices. They hold to your appointment time. I highly recommend this dental office.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Thomas for a few years now, and we wouldnt go anywhere else. We go in twice a year for routine cleanings. Jamie is fantastic. The time always flies by. Audrey is super friendly and helpful. The actual office feels cozy and inviting, which is unexpected for a dentists office.

Ive been going to Vista Dental for four years now. Dr Thomas has always been concerned with my dental health and provided what I believe to be good modern dentistry. I am especially pleased with the in house crown fabrication capabilty, just a couple hours and your done in most cases. Staff is friendly and efficient. Never a problem with Vista Dental from my side.

This was absolutely the worst dental experience I have ever had. The dentist spent more time worrying about and attempting to understand my non-dental medical history (which is fully under control through my primary care physician) than he did looking at or worrying about my teeth. He also said that he wasnt qualified to make this diagnosis so he wasnt going to check the box that said I was obese, and then told me to not take that the wrong way because he was overweight too. (All this despite the fact that he knew neither my height nor my weight.) He recommended that I pay $300 for a sleep study despite the fact that the sheet HE GAVE ME indicated that I was an extremely low risk for sleep apnea, and I came in with no complaints that would lead him to think that it was something that even needed to be thought about. Additionally, he suggested that my (somewhat complex) medical history was a result of my psychological diagnosis of obsessive-compulsive disorder. The appointment, despite the fact that my teeth were absolutely fine and all I needed was a cleaning, took over an hour because of these extraneous, unnecessary and unfounded concerns on the part of the dentist. Although the staff (dental hygienist, receptionist, etc.) were very nice, the dentist himself was completely out of line, making suggestions and conjectures that had absolutely nothing to do with dentistry and no basis in fact. I will NEVER be returning to this practice.

I hadnt seen a dentist since I left the military, and needed some major work. The staff is incredible and always joyful and Dr. Thomas is no kidding the best Dentist I have ever had. The made a special appointment for me when I was in super pain and never treated me as an inconvenience. Highly recommended.

To be frank, I have always been apprehensive about going to a dental office, having grown up in northern new mexico where we had little preventative medical care, if any. that included dentistry. my attitude has changed. I now look forward to going to the dentist..Dr. Thomas and his staff are always there for you, they care, they carefully check their charts, their photos of your teeth as they proceed with any procedure..they are fully committed to your dental well being...to you as a person. from the moment you enter their office. gracias....

Our military family had been patients of Dr. Thomas for years. When the militarys Tricare Retiree Dental Plan (TRDP) closed out and mandatorily switched us to the MetLife Federal Dental Plan (FEDVIP), we called to confirm that Dr.Thomas was an in-network provider under this plan and were told by his front office staff that he was. So, my wife, a veteran U.S. Navy Nurse, went in for her semi-annual cleaning and exam and was surprisingly charged $142 at checkout. Dr. Thomas is NOT an in-network provider, which we found out AFTER services were rendered and AFTER his front office said they accepted in-network prices for the MetLife Federal plan.

They made a new crown and I was out of they the same afternoon..no pain..the staff and Dr Tom are the best..become a patient and see for yourself..Im fairly new to the area and they were recommended by a co-worker.Im very happy to have them for my dental care..

Dr. Tommy, (Dr. Marc A Thomas, however he is called Dr. Tommy by his staff) is a cowboy and a jerk. He told my wife things that were illegal and unprofessional, and I will take up this matter with the ADA, BBB and State of Nevada Medical Boards. My advice - keep away from this weirdo -**** After reading his reply 1) its illegal to say to a patient that you could use a drug (which she has a reaction to) and shell never know you substituted it. 2) He was weird about wanting to talk with my wife and refusing to talk with me (Shes my patient, not you, he says to me with my wife next to me) Thats odd indeed nowadays when a man says that to your wife - He is not a lawyer nor priest, and his conversation isnt PRIVILEGED from a husband, who in fact is paying the bill. Finally youd think if a customer, like myself, is dissatisfied youd want to talk with him, or refund the money for the exam - but youre too cheap to give a refund. He actually said on a phone call when my wife and I were both on the speaker, Im not talking to you - just your wife. Folks, thats weird. Hes got some screw loose when it comes to dealing with people.
