Ive been looking for a apartment for over a year and seemingly nothing ever fit. As I continued to look I came across Westside Flats and immediately knew I love property but was even intrigued when I came in to see the unit. Ms Mona was absolutely wonderful in helping me find a unit that fits me and my family. She was professional and very great at what she does, she is very knowledgeable about her property and units, she is a great asset to the Westside Flats. She is absolutely the BEST!! If your looking for a great person to assist with finding the perfect home for you and your family Ms. Mona is your go to for all your needs! Thank you Mona!!
We received great treatment by Mona, and we were literally going to sign the lease before receiving a job offer from a company in San Diego. The apartment was clean, decent, nice, and affordable. Mona helped us a lot and showed us everything in the building and was very helpful and patient with us. she gave us plenty of time to see everything and check everything. My wife felt happy meeting Mona and she felt safe especially that it seemed all tenants knew each other and were super friendly with us.We would have defiantly signed the lease if I did not receive the phone call, and it all thanks to Mona and her exceptional services.
Mona was a great professional, showing us a few potential apartments. She even let my partner take a phone call in one of the empty apartments for a work emergency. We didnt end up renting there, but appreciated the care and concern that the manager took to show us around. The apartments that we did see were bright, clean and new.
We have been with Westside Flats for many years. Mona has been the best management so far.She is always there to help with any living needs. If there is Maintanice issue her and Randall get it done.Love how Mona has made Westside feel more warming. When you walk in from work she is there to Greet with a beautiful smile.I would have never Renewed my lease if Mona wasn’t here.
They towed my vehicle for parking in my friends designated parking spot because they “didn’t know who’s car it was”. Even though my friend gave me permission to park there... Cameron the property manager is extremely unprofessional and is absolutely clueless. Do not lease a unit here unless you want your car to get towed.
It’s with a heavy heart that I will be vacating my unit at West Side Flats due to COVID 19 after living here for over two years. I’d like to take a moment to recognize and extend my utmost gratitude and appreciation to the current property manager, Mona. Since Mona began working at West Side Flats back in February the overall atmosphere of the building was uplifted. Her presence is always warm, welcoming and helpful. Enough can’t be said about the exceptional impact Mona has had in the last several months I’ve been a tenant at West Side Flats. Thanks again for everything Mona. You’re the best!Casey
The property manger, Mona, left no stone unturned. Every question we had for her, she was able answer and give more information which helped with our decision. It was a great experience, she went above and beyond to help us find a good place that works perfectly for us.
I am absolutely blown away by this stellar customer service at this property!I’ve lived at a couple different apartments in the past, and none of those complexes came close to how responsive and friendly the staff of Westside Flats are! Mona and Randall do an excellent job at managing this apartment complex, and reminding you every day that Westside Flats is truly the perfect place to call home. Both Mona and Randall are extremely helpful and friendly! From the very start, when my husband and I moved in, we arrived several hours early to our move-in appointment, as we were coming from out of state; Mona was happy to accommodate our early arrival and was super supportive throughout the entire moving process! Even though we were coming from out of state, Mona helped us have one of the most stress-free and smooth move-in’s of our lives! Since then, she goes out of her way to help us, no matter how tiny the problem is.Randall, the maintenance technician, is super friendly, and quickly addresses your service requests the moment after you place them. He even helped us move a couch up four flights of stairs after the couch couldn’t fit in the elevator. Randall constantly goes above and beyond with his service, and will never stop at ‘just good enough’ when he’s fixing something in your apartment.Lastly, The complex itself is beautiful! Our apartment is super modern, featuring brand new appliances and hardwood flooring throughout most of the unit. We’re even lucky enough to have a little balcony with a perfect view of downtown Seattle!I would absolutely recommend anyone to move into this apartment complex, I’m sure they’ll love staying here just as much as I have!Thank you so much, Mona and Randall, for several months of amazing apartment living!
Tired of walking in doo doo :(
Management is always helpful, kind, and professional. Mona especially made the move in process very smooth and has been responsive to every question/request. Maintenance is also always prompt and helpful. All my experiences with staff have been very positive, and they are always friendly and accommodating.
Our apartment was nice enough, although the higher price certainly didnt reflect the lack of amenities offered by the complex. That being said, one thing that made living here worthwhile has been some of the staff, particularly Mona and Randall, who both were friendly, clearly cared, tried hard, advocated for residents, and got stuff done for us. We recently learned Mona is leaving, and its been a bit upsetting, as it seems like theres steady turnover in property managers, and Mona had been a standout --- far and away the best to date. Hopefully the owners have a chance to do some outreach to her and try to keep her!
Ive been living here for 2 years now, the floor plans are amazing and the management team is even better! Mona and Randall are simply the best! Super friendly, kind, and willing to help you no matter what! You guys rock! Keep it up!
Mona is really the best leasing manager I’ve came across through all my apartment searches. She is friendly, organized, and makes everything easy for the tenants! I was looking for a apartment to move into as soon as possible. I came to tour at 4pm Wednesday and started move in at 10am Thursday !! All my questions were answered before I even got to ask them ! I’m beyond pleased with this whole experience. Thankyou Mona!!
We have lived here for over 3 years. The floor plans are spacious and functional, and the staff is so friendly. Any problem we have had was addressed quickly and without question. A very dog friendly community with many neighbors (dogs included) we have come to enjoy so much. Location and price couldnt be more perfect either!
I moved in site-unseen just over a year ago when I relocated from out of state. Great location, lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. You can really live here without a car. Were right next to a a hub for Metro Transit so we have several buses to get downtown, and were close to the water taxi. West Seattle is definitely a great place to live, even with the bridge down. My apartment is fine, and by Seattle standards, I feel like I get a good apartment for my investment. All that said, I would have looked for another place if it werent for the management team. Mona and Randall are fantastic to deal with when you need something, and they make living here worth it. For being the only maintenance person for two buildings, Ive found Randall to be really responsive if I have an issue in my apartment, and hes very friendly. My dog absolutely loves him. The building is kept clean and the outside areas are good, too, thanks to Randalls work. Mona is an absolute gem. After I moved in, I didnt talk to the property manager, but Mona goes out of her way to keep the door open and interact with us. I feel like shes gotten to know any resident who wants to be social. Even with COVID, shes been accessible and friendly. What I have appreciated most about Monas management style is that she has been thoughtful in handling issues in light of the impact COVID, telecommuting, and everything else 2020 has thrown at us. These are tough times, and Mona is very good at finding solutions that are really thinking about the wellbeing of the building and the individual resident rather than just sticking to the strictest interpretation of the rules. She really has bent over backward to keep residents and keep us happy. She doesnt break rules or ignore problems, but she has the right touch that helps issues get resolved rather than just covered up.If you look here to rent, make sure this is your management team. Until Mona and Randall, I didnt really understand how much better it is when you can build a relationship with your property management staff. Theres a big difference between just having OK management and having management you can consider your friend.
Weve lived in this building for 5+ years, and are about to move out of the city for my work. We had considered relocating to different neighborhoods every now and then, but could never find something as big for the same price. We will miss our West Seattle spot:)
The staff here is great. Randall, the maintenance whiz, has always been such a pleasure to talk with and is not only really good at what he does, but goes above and beyond to make sure that residents are comfortable and have what they need. Its been such a joy to have him around while Ive lived here. Thanks, Randall!!!
West Side Flats property is beautiful! Although we were unable to move forward with our move-in, Mona, the property manager, was very kind and easy to correspond with. We hope to find a home there in the near future.
We recently terminated our lease early due to the West Seattle Bridge shutting down. As both of us work outside of West Seattle, it made sense for us to relocate before our lease ended and traffic became a nightmare.Though we decided to leave sooner than expected, we had an excellent time living at West Side Flats. The first few months were a bit odd because there were several different managers on site within months of each other (including Mona, there were at least 4 different people in our 9 month time there.) This created a bit of confusion, but everything was sorted out.Randall, the maintenance guy is AMAZING. He is always friendly and goes out of his way to help residents. He also loves to pet residents dogs and is lovely to chat with. Mona has been diligent in getting issues resolved quickly. The one real complaint we do have is the way things are billed there. Utilities are not billed individually. You will get a bill each month added to your rent for water, sewer, trash, and common area electricity. They bill in arrears, so you may not actually see your monthly bill for 6 weeks. Since water and sewage are not metered, you are essentially paying for the entire building. The management company uses a formula based upon occupancy to determine how much each unit pays. Obviously this isnt this isnt West Side Flats fault, but it is unfair to residents and something they should be up front about. No matter how much we tried to conserve water, the bill just kept increasing. In comparison, our new apartment has each unit individually metered and we only pay for what WE use. It just seems like this is a way for Avenue5 to overcharge residents and make a profit.Additionally, security was a concern when we moved in. There arent any security cameras in the backyard common area and people can use the back gate that connects to an alley. Its an easy way for someone to break in and they really should put a camera in all common spaces at multiple angles. Dog poo was a bit of an issue, but they began the PooPrints program shortly before we left and it seemed to reduce people leaving dog poo in the pet area. BUT as far as I know, they never actually fined anyone for doing it (when there was a lot left there still) and easily could set up a camera and ensure all dog poo is picked up.All in all, we had a great experience and wish we could have stayed longer. They apartment was quite large, had LOADS of storage (with the option for additional storage in the garages), had nice in-unit laundry, ParcelPending so your boxes werent sitting out, and had a nice dog area. If you get the chance, definitely check this place out.
The new manager Mariah is great. We visit our friends every week and she’s always friendly and chats with us. Thrive was horrible but Avenue5 has really turned Westside Flats around for the better.
We just signed our lease! Mona was a real pleasure to talk to, and made us feel warm and welcome. Im looking forward to living here!
Mariah (management) is the best! Always goes above to help out. Very nice newly renovated apartments. We were skeptical about making the move because of some bad reviews. But looking closely you will see they are a few years old. Seems like new management and some renovations have turned it around!
I dont even know where to start this building is such a dump. There is dog poo everywhere in the public area and management is terrible. It is so bad that I am retaining a lawyer to get out of my lease. I do not recommend this building, there are plenty of other ones in the same range in the same neighborhood that you dont have to walk in feces to get to your door.
Theres been a checkered management history here in our 3.5 years of residence but the current team of Mariah and Randall have things well under control. Randall is about as good of a maintenance supervisor as you will ever hope to know -- exceptional at his job, frequently goes above and beyond, easy to get ahold of, top-notch guy to boot. Mariah as well came in and understood the multiple situations going on in the building and took care of everything pretty quickly. With brief but notable exceptions, we generally enjoyed our timing living in Westside Flats South.
Im getting really frustrated on trying to get a place here. Ill start with the fact that she was 30 minutes late to show us the apartment and did not try to contact us by any means to say she was going to be late. Told us about moving specials for the place. Since my roommate and I thought it was a great deal to move in we decided to put our applications in. Then called her to tell her that we had submitted our applications then told us that the move in specials no longer apply because they had a great leasing week. At this point I became kind of frustrated with the management at this location. So she told me she would contact me by the end of the day yesterday to tell us if we got approved. I have still yet to receive a phone call even though I have called multiple time today. So as someone trying to rent a unit I feel like management should be trying a little harder and follow through with what they are saying. Because Im starting to feel like this was a waste of $40 on a application fee if they cant even communicate with us if we got the place. Something should be addressed to her or fixed. Because I have never had this much of a problem trying to rent a place.
Mariah is amazing! Super nice and super helpful with everything!
