The Danforth is a great place to live. Location is central to the Pike/Pine corridor, but still set back enough to be quiet in the evenings. The staff and amenities are top notch, and the building is always clean & in great shape.
Moved to Seattle for graduate school. The Danforth was the first apartment building I checked out and it was amazing! Couldn’t beat the price and the amenities are top notch. Have had no problems with management or maintenance. 10/10 would recommend.
Helpful staff (especially leasing agent, Jason), friendly residents, gorgeous views, nice gym, prime location--- very happy at The Danforth
We have been living at the Danforth now for just over 3 months, and so far things have been great! We have a unit on the 9th floor that faces east, and the views of Cap Hill are gorgeous. The quality of the build here is also impressive since I am personally very sensitive to noise. The street noise is minimal and we never hear our neighbors, which is great. Plus, our plants are loving the balcony! The amenities are a nice touch as well. We have enjoyed using the gym and harvesting greens on the roof courtesy of the Seattle Urban Farm Company. Only thing on my wish list thus far would be adding in some weight machines or a squat rack to the gym! Finally, shout out to the wonderful staff who take care of the building. Renee and Eddie in particular have always gone above and beyond to make sure we feel welcome and help us out. Thanks Danforth!!
Pros:-Above a whole foods-Nice rooftop-Unit gets natural lightCons:-Very expensive for quality of building. Walls are thin and you can often hear noise from neighbors.-Poor management quality - rude and lack empathy. Charged me a fee for cleaning after move-out even though I had my apartment professionally cleaned.-Awful concierge staff. Will roll their eyes every-time you want to get a package and you cannot get a package without their help.-Packages were stolen. Multiple residents reported theft and management actively tried to hide it and took no culpability. When pressed on it, they told me to file a police report.-Neighborhood is getting more and more dangerous. I get that this isnt the buildings fault, but I found myself constantly getting harassed on the way home. Its not the worst building in Seattle, but I really cant go higher than 2 stars.
Worst managers I’ve ever experienced here than living anywhere. You’ll get missing/stolen packages, very delayed/no responses, and a revolving door of rude and unfriendly employees. Highly recommend living literally anywhere else!
This building is anything but luxury. There are other buildings in the area that offer much more for lower prices. My lease is up in February and so looking forward to leaving! Some pros/cons for you:Pros:#1 Whole Foods on the bottom floor#2 Views from the roof are amazing#3 Maintenance is quick to respond and communicative#4 Neighbors are quietCons:#1 Cant use the gym during the week- only open from 9am - 6pm due to COVID. We are adults here and I feel capable of socially distancing in the gym without supervision.#2 Lobby smells of garbage towards the end of the week#3 Concierge is just there to get your packages for you - that is if they are at the desk.#4 Office staff never answers emails, but do have time to be rude to your housekeeper.#5 Common area charges increase month over month.#6 Cause of a loud noise that lasts for 2-6 hours can not be found. Design flaws are a thing, but having it wake you up at 1am disrupts sleep/daily life.
After a day of bad luck and lack of help with my move out from my previous apartment that lead to hours of delays, The Danforth (Jason in particular) made sure my move in went smoothly by staying hours past close to make sure we could reserve the elevator and unload the truck as fast as possible. The staff has been quick to respond to my questions over email during the leasing process and have continued to do since then. The unit itself is exceeding my expectations and Im beyond happy with my decision.
Ive read the one star reviews and thought it would be a bad experience. The gripes were with the switch from Greystar Management to Avenue 5 management Boy would I be wrong. Lots of the reviews were dealing with transitional issues between the different software systems that the respective companies use. Those are all fixed. Avenue5 coincidentally took control right before Covid started and had to shut down due to strict lockdowns. (Ironically, a few months after Avenue5 took management control, it was revealed that Greystar properties has been renting their units on AirBnB. So pick your poison.)I havent noticed the general (visible) issues that other reviewers had noted beforehand. Management keeps The Danforth running well. This place is high-rise living, but without the pains of downtown Seattle nor a 30 story building. We regularly have tons of street parking, open loading zones, etc. Its a few blocks from the hustle and bustle. Besides that, the area is honestly quiet and a nice neighborhood. The apartments are very nice, and have beautiful concrete features. The pictures speak for themselves. The biggest things about living here are a lot of the small things.During the snowstorm (2021), staff ensured that people were able to get in and out of the garage by continuously. The Danforth is continuously clean, and Ive never felt unsafe inside. Ive found the office staff to be responsive and nice. In addition, theyve handled Covid-19 very well with having online scheduling of amenity spaces once we moved into Phase 2. Mask usage is perfect, and you encounter tons of different cute dogs in the elevator.I read some of the complaints about the parking, and havent heard of those incidents occurring since living here. (Plus they wont immediately tow you if you park in the wrong spot; they send out a few emails before towing. So if someone is in your spot, they eventually will take care of it but wont try to needlessly tow residents). All of my personal gripes with the parking garage come from the Whole Foods shoppers (thats an urban parking garage though). All in all, highrise living without the inconveniences of a highrise. Nor with the inconveniences of downtown or Belltown.
Lived here for more than one year. We have a loud neighbor who plays heavy metal music late at night. I reached out multiple times to the management team, but they barely did anything. No one was there to pick up the phone call at night when I tried to file a noise complaint either.Danforth has a great location, and I love this neighborhood. However, it is not worth it if you pay so much for the rent, but still do not get the service that you deserve.
1-The property manager should work for the residents instead of working their employer which is the building management company. These new leasing office people are very mean and have no manners or professional qualities.2- Base on experience in here lived here accidentally 2years; this community is no safe/ secure to live. There were many times happened car window broken down and stolen by thief/criminal even if the residents park in their paid spots in the garage. I also a victim and saw 4times other cars’ were broken. When I complained the people who work in the leasing office/ property manager repeatedly said me that “ don’t leave valuable things in the car” and said repeatedly “the apartment has no responsibility “.What about my car window is broken by the bad guys could able to get into the secured and gated garage??This look like a nice apartment but in reality there are no security cameras enough or no pro-security at all.3-I do not recommend the Danforth apartment to lease in many reason including there are always chance to meet the creepy feeling in the garage after I have a terrible experience. Not even 1-star reviews value. Sorry Danforth! Hope you guys better behave and listen to Your Tenants who pay actually Your paychecks!
I lived at this building for 18 months. The first year was great; then the building sold to CBRE and they fired the old management company and brought in Avenue 5. As other reviewers have mentioned, I would say this management company is laughably horrible except its really not funny. They are focused solely on escalating profit at the expense of everything else. They turned 24 hour concierge service to 8 hours a day; and the concierges from the previous company left or were fired and were replaced by people that could barely get your packages, let alone do anything complex. Simple tasks like dispensing dry cleaning become full of uncertainty. Id drop off dry cleaning and come back 5 days later to find it balled in a corner, never sent off. One time, it disappeared.Reducing concierge service was also met with increasing security problems in the building. Everyone on my floor with a car had their car broken into at least once; some more than once. On at least one occasion a thieve was roaming my hall; when I approached him he was physically intimidating and verbally threatening. The management company responded by hiring a security service for a few weeks. They came 3 times a night to walk around and left. At 5am one morning, when I was leaving the parking garage, I saw a group of guys who were clearly there to break into cars. I called the number listed for the security service, and, guess what: it was not a working number. They also pared back cleaning staff. The halls got so dirty after weeks of not cleaning them that I would have to put in a service request to get the hall vacuumed. While all this is going on, the manager Ben, rather than working to get the building under control and better was doing crazy things like looking at residents personal instagram accounts to try and identify lease violations and attempting to evict an older veteran because he played music outside while he smoked. There are countless other things and every resident I new in the building was planning to leave, largely because the management company made things basically unlivable. I stopped even requesting things or asking for things because everything was irrationally hostile. If you want to see how much a management company can make or break your happiness of living somewhere, then by all means live here. But, if you want to be happy, you should avoid this building at all costs. It is a miserable place to live now.
These two stars are solely for the PM Ben he was great to work who had the utmost professionalism out of everyone who works here. We have since moved out of The Danforth due to consistent issues with the concierge team mostly Ebony, and the lack of professionalism from the other staff members. They should all be held to the standard that Ben provides. I hope Avenue5 realizes what gold they struck with Ben. Other than that I have nothing good to say about this property.
I have never done a review before but I was prompted because 1. I had the smoothest move in I have ever had. Considering we are in the midst of a global pandemic, I say thats noteworthy. 2. Yesterday morning I was greeted by a boxed breakfast full of craft quality, local goods (um, wow)!I was surprised by some of the other recent reviews about poor customer service or things that were not working. While we are not able to use any of the common areas (this was also the case at my old building and I imagine all buildings in Seattle), I have found everything to be in good working order and the staff has been amazing.I imagine making a transition from one group of people running the building to an entirely new group over night will have its challenges and not sit well with everyone. But speaking for someone that is new at the Danforth. I definitely recommend it.
Great place to live, great location, high quality building for the price.
I’m normally not one to write reviews. But we have had ongoing issues with the staff. We have had very pleasant experiences with our leasing agent Colin. But there are things that need to be addressed that cannot be handled by him. When our car got broken into Kate the property manager gave us her business card and assured us we could reach out to her. When we did it’s been a week and we haven’t heard back, but she’s posted in our community board. We have not even lived in our residence for a month and our car got broken into, possessions stolen, they haven’t changed our mailing to our names, we have had a problem with our concierge. Yet nothing seems to be addressed.Unfortunately it has gotten to the point where we had to reach out to corporate. It’s a nice building the location is great. But we are not getting what we pay for and that’s unfortunate. We hope our experience will change but until then..
Please inform your the new residents that parking spots are assigned to residents. This is the 2nd time someone has been parked in our stall. The Garage has not been regulated and people are coming in and parking wherever they please.
The Concierge particularly Ben is very rude.
Wonderful apartments and amenities, and the concierge team is very friendly. Unfortunately, there was an ownership change at the end of 2019 and the new leasing team can be very friendly and communicative in large-scale communications like emails, but theyre quite unfriendly in person. Im an Australian expat, and dont always know about the ins and outs of leasing through a company like Avenue5, but instead of helping me understand why particular things happen, theyre often somewhat accusatory, defensive, unfriendly or assume I know details that I dont. In the last few weeks, Ive asked questions about access via swipe cards/key fobs and received answers that cast myself and other residents in a light like we are all security risks. Honestly, sometimes I feel like its an inconvenience to speak to me at all.
This place has been amazing, and the staff are even better! They keep the premises regularly cleaned and maintained, and have great amenities. Finally, all of the concierge staff as well as the leasing and office management and staff have been so kind and accommodating. They are also very responsive. I have had a great experience at the Danforth thus far! The Leasing Manager, Renee, is amazing!
Danforth residents are really diverse and a mix of ages which makes the events we have biweekly very fun. We made friends in the building within weeks of moving in and now we watch shows together and play games. We can also suggest events to management and they are very receptive to ideas! Overall we are very happy to be living at the Danforth.
This is one of those buildings where it looks great initially, but when you live here its a whole different experience. First off, the amenities are limited and close too early. Gym is small. If you like living next to a lot of short term tenants that wont take pride in their home, then this place might be okay for you. Finally, there are a ton of other places available throughout capitol hill that give you much more bang for the buck. Youve been warned but stay away, you wont regret looking further and your family will be much happier.
We absolutely love our apartment, there’s something special about waking up to an unobstructed view of mount rainier every morning.Staff and amenities are phenomenal with so many small touches. We don’t know how we’ll ever leave :)
I lived here since they opened in August 2018 and I moved out last month due to the incompetent Avenue5 management. Before they came in, Danforth was a 5 star luxury apartment building with competent, professional staff with amazing amenities.First, if you are serious about moving here, wait for the prices to drop as prices drop daily. There’s an urban 1 bedroom that is priced at $1,591 and it used to be around $2,300. Over half of the penthouses have been vacant for months now as well. When it was bought out by Avenue5 in December 2019, the Danforth turned into a 2 star motel. The leasing office is unprofessional and unresponsive. Emails that are sent out are filled with numerous errors and are often accusatory and passive aggressive. Want a response? Good luck, you’ll have to email them a couple of times or wait a week for a response. It’s funny because when I emailed the general email my notice to vacate, within an hour the manager emailed me back from his personal email. This tells me the general email is frequently monitored but no one responds? The 24/7 concierge service is a fraud. There’s almost no one in the overnight shift and whenever I needed the concierge during the day, there was a 50% chance I’d be left stranded. This is understandable given the pandemic but it has been a trend before the pandemicWe requested to use the elevator and loading dock to move out but was told it was unavailable during a particular time and date, so we requested a new time but NEVER heard back. Come to the day and time, I was waiting for the elevator and lo and behold, the freight elevator opens and seems to be fully available. We emailed them again asking to reserve it and they instead gave us a different time, hours after our move out. Seriously?I can’t speak to the underground security of the building (parking garage) as I did not own a car but have heard numerous reports of car break ins. When COVID happened, package service was suspended to limit interaction, so they decided to leave ALL of the packages in the open lobby for anyone to come and take as it is easy for anyone to trail a resident. This resulted in many instances of package theft. My unit had multiple packages missing and the team was not helpful at all. We tried creating a post on the Danforth Community Page to see if anyone had mistakenly took it, but the leasing team never approved the post?? So what do we do?They installed a security camera that was there for like two months then they took it away and put it outside the leasing office. Yes, the office is more important than covering the staircase, mailroom, and front entrance. Additionally, just know that this building is located on top of Whole Foods, a hotspot for protestors.I will give credit to where it’s due. Credit to Chris and the amazing maintenance team, you guys rock. Credit to Karen from Greystar for returning to the team and saving the building from crumbling.Ultimately, I do not recommend this building. Please look elsewhere.
The Danforth is by far the best apartment complex Ive ever lived in. The leasing process was great! The leasing manager Renee kept me up to date on the process and it didnt take long at all. The building overall is amazing!! I still cannot get over all of the awesome amenities here. The Danforth is definitely the place to live!
Living at the Danforth has been great! It finds the elusive sweet spot of great amenities, location, quality, and staff.Carlos made our leasing experience feel effortless! He was super helpful and patient during tours, always heard our needs, and got us an awesome unit for a great deal. Having his assistance during the move-in process made it a breeze. Our experience with him before and after signing a lease has not changed- he is quick to reply to any questions or concerns, and always makes sure we are fully satisfied with his assistance. Working with Carlos has made for the best leasing experience we’ve ever had.
Great Building, Amazing Staff:The building is really quiet. There is minimal traffic/city noise. The HVAC system works so quietly, you dont even notice it running. All you know is your place is always comfortable. The units get great light. The appliances are good quality. The common spaces are always clean. The garage stall spaces are really well sized/spaced. Plenty of assigned parking spaces.Christian and the rest of the staff at the Danforth are, hands down, the best apartment management team around. They go above and beyond to make everyone feel at home. Theres always a friendly face greeting you at the front desk. The team is always super quick to respond to any questions or concerns. We LOVE living here.
My experience applying to and living here has been extremely difficult. There has been an unacceptable number of mistakes, miscommunication, and overall poor customer service. I have been made to feel less-than, a burden, and in the wrong at nearly every point of communication. The application took 2+ months. There were a few factors outside of our hands, but my application was forgotten due to turn over in staff and there was minimal hand off at best. I reached out multiple times and was not informed of the turnover until weeks of silence. Mistakes were made and corrections needed for my application on the side of the Leasing Team that prolonged this process. It was not until I contacted the Office of Housing, Avenue5 corporate office, and building manager, that I received assistance. Once aware of my situation, Ben worked diligently to expedite its approval, answered questions, and worked after hours to assist me. He has been the only point of contact who has kept to his word. However, this does not excuse the Leasing Team’s extreme recklessness resulting in my application sitting untouched for weeks.I have had to sign FIVE different leases due to minimal attention to detail by the Leasing Team. It is unacceptable that I have found multiple inaccuracies and conflicting information resulting in multiple leases generated and signed. I was misquoted which was reflected as conflicting numbers WITHIN the same lease agreement. Additionally, unrelated and unaffected sections were altered between generating leases. I was forced to resign another lease (5th) the morning of my move after my lease on file was deleted by the Leasing Team, leaving me to wait in the office for nearly an hour. Again, it was not until Ben came into the office that my problems were resolved. I have identified and communicated conflicting information in my current lease that present legal liability for Avenue5, but stopped identifying these corrections as it’s not my job to produce an air tight lease. As a tenant, I would expect a frictionless move in. I’ve experienced the exact opposite. I was given conflicting information about move in costs. I contacted the building multiple times and was left hanging. This left less than an hour to get to get a money order (which was required for first payment) before banks closed. I also received a Welcome Packet, but there once again was a mistake. While minor, it was an added point of friction. Additionally, I’ve had to reach out on separate occasions to inquire about little details of living in this building. Details which all residents should be made aware of prior to their move – ie. amenities, being added to the call box, package notification, etc. It’s not until I reached out about each one of these issues individually that the process was communicated or information updated after the fact. All tenants should have this information at move in — perhaps added to the Welcome Packet. The MOST EGREGIOUS part of living here has been the extreme lack of customer service and outright disrespect from the Leasing Team. I have been made to feel that I have made mistakes and am in the wrong for issues explicitly made by the leasing team. There has been zero apology for the almost daily mistakes, miscommunication, failed promises, and attitude. I should not be made to feel like an inconvenience, problem, annoyance, and/or at fault for the Leasing Team’s lack of transparency and inadequacies. I would expect customer-facing employees to handle themselves with humility and own up to mistakes instead of blaming tenants. Additionally, I would ensure that all future communication is accurate and informed after the 1st mistake, let alone the 20th.The only saving graces for this building are the maintenance team and Ben. They are the only ones who seem to be dedicated to quality service and strive for improvement. Their attention to detail, friendly demeanor, ability to keep promises, and do right by the tenants is commendable.
Those fake, negative reviews are very disheartening. They seemed to have popped up at the exact same time. I think sometimes if people get a late fee or if they break rules that were clearly written in the lease, they vent to their friends who in turn leave a negative review. Its pretty sad that this is an acceptable reaction. This team is extremely hard-working and they go above and beyond to help. Everyone from the concierge, to maintenance, to the leasing team have been awesome. Moving is difficult and stressful, but they made it easy.I love this building! The location cannot be beat. Close to stores, restaurants and public transportation. There are some great amenities including a modern gym and a huge roof top with stunning views! Heck, I ate beets, carrots, arugula, cabbage and broccoli from the rooftop garden in the fall. Yum!Im sorry you guys have to deal with immature, sore losers. Keep up the good work!
I’ve never seen an apartment building like this one, there is so much for you to do! I love everything about the Danforth, from the great amenities on down to the staff. Eddie and Culley and the other guys at the front desk are just amazing! They are so friendly and never fail to greet you when you walk in and they are always there to help when you need them. Thank you guys for making this place AMAZING!
Best apartment complex Ive ever lived in! Highly recommend it. Great location in Capitol Hill and the staff is so accommodating and efficient at meeting your needs. Nothing bad I can say!
The danforth was bought out by a new management company in December and the building has gone downhill ever since. Incompetent management who doesnt care about residents or respond to emails. Cares only about profit not the well being of the community. Explains why though since theyre going through a financial crisis with the recent new partnershipId advise you not to lease here. It was a great building with Greystar but now, with Avenue5, its horrible.
Our friends live in this building. They were so excited to move in! I helped them move in and let’s just say their move in has been anything less than pleasant. I have visited them on numerous occasions as well as they have settled in. Let me just say I first hand have experienced hostility from one of their concierges outside and inside their building.I’m writing this review based on my experience.Pros their call box works great and can buzz you into the building! So you don’t have to wait outsideCons sometimes the concierges are outside smoking and you hear the negative things they say about the tenants, the wait when you’re inside also can be troublesome as there isn’t no clock advising you of when they will be back.I personally live in downtown with our own 24 hour concierge service and it’s night and day.The building is beautiful but the service not so much.
Ive really enjoyed living here at the Danforth. My units appliances and cabinets are all high quality and new. I have yet to hear my neighbors or any noise from the hallway (and my unit is near the trash/recycling chute) so there seems to be a solid amount of insulation between apartments. The staff is very friendly and responsive, I havent had a negative experience when asking questions or adding anything to my lease, the staff is always happy to help. There are columns in my unit as called out in another review, but the staff was very transparent about it with us and we were able to fit our furniture comfortable around it.The location is probably my favorite part, I love being above the Whole Foods and close to the heart of Cap Hill. There are few services that arent a short walk away.
Location is really convenient and amenities are really good. The staff on the management team is really helpful whatever the request is as well as the multiple concierge. Eddie in particular is very professional/courteous and always smiling!
The Danforth is a very special building. Our location sits on Seattle U, First Hill, and Capital Hill. The walkability couldn’t be better!!! The amenities are top notch. The Rooftop area provides a dog run for our dogs and they love it. There is also a Green House with a growing harvest of fruits and veggies. The Gym is amazing and so is the free coffee from the Top Brew. You can make Cappuccinos or Mocha’s or just get a shot of espresso. I don’t just live here but I work here as well. I love this building. We relocated from Los Angeles about 4 months ago and couldn’t be happier..;) We LOVE The Danforth!!!💕💕
The Danforth is the coolest new apartment building. We moved in about a month ago and are in love the with place. The neighborhood, communal spaces and apartments are all incredible. The leasing process was great thanks to the very personable staff who go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. We could not be happier that we moved in here! Thank you to the Danforth Team for making this happen! You guys rock!!
Great property and attentive staff. Have really enjoyed my time here so far. The manager Renee is amazing and other team members like Eddie go above and beyond to help residents.
The Danforth is the nicest place I’ve ever lived in! The staff is amazing, the common areas are ALWAYS clean, and the location is unbeatable. Right on top of Whole Foods and with all of Capitol Hill at you doorstep this place is the best. Don’t get me started on the rooftop view...
This is one fantastic property. The only thing better than the location, the amenities, the neighborhood and the beautiful apartments...is the leasing staff. They were attentive, friendly, genuine and made the building look and feel better than it already is. We didnt end up renting here, but the experience was a step above any other rental property we looked at in Seattle. If you are looking to rent an apartment, I highly recommend this building. When Whole Foods opens up in the ground floor, this place is going to be the best. Stop by and have a look...one of the leasing specialists will take great care of you!
Moved in a few months ago and have loved it so far. The amenities and shared spaces are wonderful with lots of Capitol Hill highlights within walking distance. The staff are all very friendly and helpful - especially Eddie at the concierge desk!
Clean and not too many people
Definitely the best apartment I have lived in thus far. the amenity is awesome, not to mention the location!! I can get to anywhere w/o owning a car.
Simply incredible. Location, facility, amenities, staff all awesome. Always an awesome welcoming when I get home from Eddie.Only issue, there is now a Whole Foods on the first floor, bye bye paycheck. 😏
Although the building is nice, the management team is completely incompetent. Before working with these clowns, I would figure out whether you are willing to live at the circus. And if you do, realize that the prices of all of their units have been dropping by $100 a week since March 15th.On January 1st 2020, The Danforth was taken over by the Avenue 5 Residential company. That’s when all HELL broke loose. Before you read my review of The Danforth under the Avenue 5 Residential company, I would like to explain why every other review of The Danforth is a 5 star review. All of the reviews posted prior to January 1st, 2020 are reviews for The Danforth under the Greystar management company. Greystar was absolutely incredible. When they ran building, it was one of the best luxury apartment complexes in Seattle. They had an incredible concierge, maintenance team, and leasing staff that made the apartment feel like a hotel. Unfortunately, on January 1st, 2020, Greystar sold The Danforth to Avenue 5 Residential.DisorganizedDuring the first few months of operation, the management team was unable to set up the online payment portal. As a result, all residents were required to make their first few payment via cashier check. Upon receiving everyone’s payment, the leasing staff deposited a lot of checks under the wrong tenant’s name, causing a lot of residents to be hit with a late charge. It took them over a month to fix the disaster. That was everyones first clue that the management team was completely disorganized.UnresponsiveIt is difficult to get ahold of the management team. They rarely pick up the phone, and their mailbox has been full for several months. They claim that their voicemail system is down. Their voicemail system has been down ever since they took over the building. They only respond to 1 out of 3 emails. You have to send several emails to get their attention. Even once they receive an email, they are unable to share the information among their team. You have to repeat yourself to multiple people. You have to CC the entire management team to make sure that the information gets to the right people.InconsistentThis is by far the biggest problem with the management team. Each member of the team will give you a different policy for the same thing. The building manager and the assistant building manager change their policies on a whim. They do not honor any of the commitments they make to their residents.P.S. If you end up visiting the building and taking a tour, I would pay particular attention to the elevator. When the leasing agent takes you to any floor above the 3rd floor, you will notice that the leasing agent will have to buzz into the elevator system multiple times to get it to work. This system has been broken forever. They dont have the ability to fix their basic systems.
The new community manager Ben is extremely rude and totally incompetent. We have no residents services, they deleted our active building platform so no residents can communicate, there are no cameras in the parking garage and our car has been broken into twice even though he walks the garage, we now have to have packages delivered via an app that makes absolutely no sense, and so much more that is not even worth mentioning because all just ridiculous. Moving out asap. This building is all downhill. Definitely dont move here.
The Danforth is lovely. There are amazing amenities and amazing staff. Eddie, the head concierge is kind and helpful. Mona is a lovely presence and does so much around the building.
Have you ever had bought a car at a dealership and theyre very nice to you but suddenly they change after you actually buy the car? That is what you will experience here.
Carlos was great to work with. The apartments are cool and the rooftop view is fabulous. Everybody is friendly and personable.
As a resident, me and my fiancé love living here, the staff are the best and they keep everything so clean! Yes it’s got all the amenities...gym, roof deck, party room, fire pits, the coolest and tastiest iPad controlled espresso machine, probably the best views in the city. I’ve lived in a lot of luxury buildings, But the fact they keep the building so cleaned and well managed is what makes it great.
Every time I have visited this building, I have been greeted and helped promptly! The staff are kind and knowledgeable, and the amenities are amazing--gym, kitchen, shared floor spaces for events, etc. Being above a whole foods deserves bonus points as well.
Shout out to the Concierge! My car got locked in the Whole Foods parking lot, Eddie saved the day and helped me get it out. Sending good karma your way.
The manager Kate appears to be kind. Do not let this fool you. She is condescending, especially to those with immigrant backgrounds. If youre not Caucasian, expect to be talked down upon like child. She doesnt care about you, unless it helps her.Greystar is notorious for the lack of diversity. Check out their leadership page on their website. Its almost impossible to avoid Greystar in Seattle these days, but try unless youre wealthy and white.
The Danforth is seriously the best apartment I’ve ever lived in period. They have amazing amenities, the location is central to tons of great restaurants and bars, and most importantly the leasing staff here are super sweet and attentive! Shoutout to Renée for making my move-in process super easy and a wonderful experience overall!!
I moved in ~ three months ago and have not looked back! This place is awesome. The units are beautiful - very high quality. I love my view (sunset, mountains), and the walls seem thick - I have not been able to hear my neighbors in any direction! My kitchen light burnt out and the maintenance team was very prompt to repair - they are helpful and quite friendly. The staff as a whole is amazing. From move-in until now, everyone has been a real treat to work with.I love the location - youre effectively in downtown Capitol Hill but dont have to worry about the loud night life or vagrants. Its also nice to be above a Whole Foods - thank goodness for Amazon Prime! Seattle U next door is a great place for walking, jogging, skating. Downtown is a relaxed 20 min walk and you can get pretty much anywhere via the bus/lightrail. Only shame is that Ballard is still a 2 hour drive away ;)The roof is excellent. Grills (yep, theres 2) are high quality. Comfy seating with a beautiful fireplace. Im a big fan of the common area - great space to work, read, meditate, etc with a hot cup of tasty coffee (if you are like most Seattle-ites, you will save time + $$$ on their espresso/coffee).Gym is legit, and that is my only gripe currently - I personally wish the dumbbells got heavier and there was a squat rack with barbell....... other than that, this place is awesome! Highly recommend if youre looking in this price range.
Wonderful place to live!!! Love the bbq, the gym, the rooftop and the green house. The view is so amazing!!!!
Great apartment! Special shoutout to the staff- so helpful and walking into the building is always welcoming! Eddie at the concerige is always extremely helpful and goes the extra mile!
Great location, amenities and the staff! The concierge team is also wonderful.
The apartments are nice, and the location is nice, the concierge staff is always friendly! But Eddie is the man, always polite, great customer service skills, always available and ready to lend a hand if needed!
Quick & responsive! Very kind, mindful professionals. Great building to live.
The Danforth is a great place to live and has great amenities. But, hands down, the staff are the friendliest and most helpful.
My husband and I’ve lived at other apartment complexes, but they do not compare to The Danforth. We’ve moved in to the building over a month now, and love everything about it. Great amenities, close to everything, groceries, restaurants, and transportation. You don’t need a car to live here.Walk score 99.Living here is like living in a resort. We love our brand new apartment, beautiful, modern, and spacious. The walls are thick, never hear neighbors. View on rooftop is amazing!!!The staff is great, attentive, and professional. We feel safe living here.Best of alll, Whole Foods will be officially opened on the 30th of October, located on 1st & 2nd floor of the building. We just go downstairs to shop! Awesome!!!April & Michael
My husband and I love the Danforth. From its beautiful views and amazing amenities, the Danforth is absolutely a wonderful place to live. We were able to reserve an elevator when we first moved in to allow our movers to work quickly. We recently moved her from Florida, and from the concierge to the leasing professionals have been extremely helpful, whether it is asking for recommendations or any questions at all.I wanted to personally thank and acknowledge our leasing professional, Carlos Romero. From the moment we stepped into the Danforth, Carlos was nothing but helpful. He spent time getting to know our needs as a couple, and what we were looking for specifically in a property. After being unsure of which apartment layout we wanted to look at, he went above and beyond showing us each apartment, and giving us personal space, but also was engaging. He made every aspect of the move easy via email, and also found time to provide me with specific dimensions.Update review:My husband and I used to love the Danforth when it was managed by Greystar. When Avenue5 took over, the cost of the apartment was not worth the lack luster service. The concierge was never to be found during the day and if you found them they were not friendly or useful to deal with. The night concierge didn’t exist. We had packages stolen from the mail room because the plan for packages during Covid was just “leave it in the lobby/mailroom”, which is right at the front door. My husband had a delivery and asked to borrow a cart to take it up, and was told no. Then they installed a camera for 2 months and then removed it, even though packages were still being left in the mailroom for people to steal. The leasing staff was unprofessional and unresponsive to say the least. When we were asked to renew our lease we decided to negotiate based on the prices of the other apartments around us and asked about another apartment that was the same cost as our apartment but bigger and were told no and that they would be pricing our apartment at the same price. They removed the apartment that we asked about and jacked up the price by a grand. We decided to find another Greystar property and are very happy that we have the same experience that we once had at the Danforth.Oh... and as for the price of our apartment .... it was more than 1300/month less.If you want beautiful views and apartment amenities to show off to your friend, go ahead and lease at the Danforth. The prices now are possibly a little more than the service you will receive.
I once wrote a sterling review for this building when Greystar was still the managing company. Since Avenue 5 took over, myself and my neighbors have been consistently complaining about the loss of professionalism and the elevation of confusion. I had lived there for two years, and the difference from one year to the next was as obvious as day and night. Amenities were constantly out of order, billing confusion, elevator brownouts, missing packages, impersonal staff, web portal errors, etc.Greystar hosted events with Frye Art Museum, Seahawk Sunday pizza parties in the common area, happy hours with local distilleries, holiday parties, dog contests, and a ton of other fun stuff. To this date, Avenue 5 has issued more apology e-mails to the residents for a variety of things than I care to count. The sole instance of them hosting that I can remember was a New Years observation on the rooftop which they just randomly told everyone to just show up; the prior year, Greystar was smart enough to check the roofs capacity and offer a limited number of free tickets to the residents. You can only imagine how things turned out. As I have often heard from other residents in the building, Thats Avenue 5 for you.Its also worth noting that all of the residents knew Greystars employees by name, including their temps. They made an active effort to say hello in the hallways or have the staff sign a birthday card in your mail. I scarcely know two people currently employed by Avenue 5 in the main office. On one occasion, I knocked on their closed office door during business hours to formally request an amenity because the portal was not working again. The individual who opened the door wouldnt even let me finish my sentence and told me the portal was working fine. Upon checking the portal again in my apartment, I decided to call the office and ask for help. The only thing they wanted to know is whom I had just spoken with, told me they would conduct an investigation, and ended the call by telling me to try the portal again. I never knew the name of either individual. As I write this, I have been officially told by Avenue 5 that I owed a months rent when I left the building due to office error, and with a formal letter issued to me stating that I didnt owe anything. After they had conducted their investigation, they returned my call and informed me the matter, which was an issue for two weeks, had been forwarded to a collection agency without resolving the issue with me. 27 years as a paying tenant, and I have never missed a month of rent in any apartment I have ever lived in, and still speak with many of my former landlords. This is me now, suddenly with a hit on my renters credit and trying to figure out how to pay two rents simultaneously. In case youre wondering, they also provided me with two faulty phone numbers for the collection agency as well.I wish I could make this more of a formal complaint, but at this moment, Avenue 5 at The Danforth has me needing help.
Great apartments, good location, and the staff is incredibly helpful and kind
Love the Danforth Apartments! Awesome property!
