Big E is the best barber shop i have ever been to, it was my first time ever in his shop, and am soooo pleased that i would definitely drive all the way from Orlando to Sarasota just for a hair cut. I was Baltimore visitor and I was not disappointed with my experience. If youre new to the area and looking for a welcoming barber, there is no other than Big E. Great conversation and personality, good prices and environment. All in all this is my go to from now on when Im in CT. I highly recommend!!!

After trying nearly every other barber shop around I finally discovered a barber Im happy with. My hair is cut perfectly every time. Big E(Eric) uses a straight razor on your neck and I can tell his clippers and scissors are always sharp and I can see theyre all kept clean.The store is cool, clean and theres always friendly conversation. Ive never had to wait long even though hes a one man show. If you do have to wait theres a nice flat screen TV, great magazine selection and a fridge with complimentary drinks.

The man gives a good haircut and beard trim at an incredible price. He always has great music playing and can hold a good conversation. Been here twice and havent been disappointed, but just incase there is something Im not happy he has a 3-day cleanup policy to clean up any loose ends. Highly recommend.

I took my son there to get a haircut. Its always such a mission to get his hair cut the right way but not this time! He looks great! This was our first time and we are coming back here when its time again! Great service and experience!

Saved from Great Clips.Okay first off I would like to say that not only is this a professional environment but a friendly one. I called ahead of time to see if they trimmed beards and was received with nothing but hospitality and courteousness. I had gone to Great Clips which as we all know is not the best place to go the moment I walked into Big Es he immediately realized many things that were wrong with my haircut and fix them for me to me that is a sign of a true Barber which for those of you that dont know is a skill not a job. Id also read some of the reviews and could only chuckle at one in particular. I guess the gentleman had called ahead of time and asked for Eric without giving his name in return. Now I dont know how the rest of the world operates But Me Myself if I receive an out-of-state number I immediately think its a solicitor or a bill collector or some nonsense. The way that Eric responded was professional and reasonable. This young man even went one further step and had his girlfriend post a negative review about Eric. Now two things are wrong with that first off this is my second time going to Big Es barber shop and Ive always had a really positive outcome and experience there. Now the second issue is maybe I just grew up different but I was taught if I had an issue with someone to resolve that issue myself not to hide behind my wife girlfriend fiance or whoever have you. And to the young mans girlfriend you seem to be more of a man than him in the sense that you had to write a reply for him so you might think about getting a haircut yourself at Big Es LOL this is an awesome barber shop and definitely holds American Pride. Thanks again Big E Ill be back in again in a week or two for another great haircut and beard trim.

Big Es is the best Barber around. I drive all the way from North Manatee county just to get my haircut from Big Es, because of the hospitality I receive here. I moved down to Florida over 5 years ago and have been going to Big Es for the last 4+ years, and I have tried many Barbers around the area, and none have compared to the friendliness and the quality that Big E provides. It is an old school Barber shop that is for the manly man and family friendly for kids. Big E provides excellent haircuts and great conversation. It reminds me of the Barber shop my Dad used to take me to as a kid.

Lady was nice but ruined my hair cut I supposed I should be giving myself one star for staying.

Asked for a lengthy beard to be cleaned up but keep it long and thats it. The guy ended up cutting 6 inches or more off and on my neck so the volume was gone ended up shaving it off 2 years wasted. Reporting this to the Board of Barbers of Arizona as the barber needs to be re trained horrible.

NIce guy does a great job. Found my new barber as long as he stays open for business I will go there for life

Big E is a master barber. He listens to what you want, gives great recommendations, and has an expert touch. I am extremely happy I stopped into his shop while driving down Honore! I will definitely be coming back.

First ever review but wanted to share.....flew in totowtotown for a wedding and googled a barber shop. Big E popped up. I was able to walk in as a stranger without an apt and instantly was treated like a regular. The 2 guys working were extremely polite as well as being a master in their trade. If I ever happen to travel here again I would go out of my way to go back.

Went there to get fresh and clean for my friends wedding, and thats exactly what happened. Our Barber got 4 of us in and out in very reasonable time and all of us left looking better than when we entered. Wasnt expecting to have a great time there while my friends were getting trimmed but I did and thats what makes the experience 5 🌟 worthy.

The haircut was great and big E is a really nice guy. He is the only one cutting hair however so there is a the possibility of a lengthy wait. He charges 20 dollars but the cut is worth the money.

Best barbershop in town! Good price, great atmosphere (man cave-esk), and I always enjoy & have fun with barbershop talk. Clean & fast service and the fridge is always full. Offers a no hassle if ever you don’t like your cut, but I’ve never had to use it. Customer service is 2nd to none with personal friendly alerts if ever closing early and he always knows about when I need a hair cut, and always works me in even with my fast pace schedule. It’s awesome to go to a barber that always remembers how to cut my hair and the right way to cut it.

Big Es Barber Shop is the best barber in town! Ive been going to Eric every 2 weeks for the last 6 years for my fades. If youre looking for a tight fade in a clean barber shop, Big Es Barber Shop is your place.

Its my boyfriends first time visiting Sarasota, and he wanted to go to a barber. After looking at reviews online, Big Es seemed like a good place to go. HOWEVER, after a simple phone call to schedule an appointment it is clear that the customer service there is anything but satisfactory.My boyfriend called and asked Hello, Id like to schedule an appointment with Eric? (According to reviews, Eric seems like a master of his art!) The brusque man (receptionist?) on the other end replied, Uhmm...you should probably disclose who you are before you go asking for someone... And then he proceeded to be generally unhelpful, and instead of dealing with someone so unpleasant we decided to take our business elsewhere. The man could have replied with, May I ask who is calling? or, Is this your first time here? There is any number of acceptable ways he could have responded, but instead he chose to react in the most awkward and discouraging way possible.I work in the customer service industry, and this interaction was utterly odd and unwelcoming. It is clear to me that anyone who provides such a rude first impression is not interested in satisfying the customers need first. I discourage anyone from calling this business, and good luck to anyone who sits in one of their chairs.Update in response to business owner reply:1) The rough transcription E provided is not truthful. I heard the phone call myself, but it is apparent that Big Es is not interested in the truth or else admission of fault. However, we can proceed under the assumption that what E said is true.2) I understand that solicitors are the bane of every company, especially local, family-owned businesses. However, if the phone rings the company MUST assume that it is a customer in need of service! Not to mention this is a Floridian business where tourism and out-of-state area codes are commonplace. If you make a practice of treating ALL New York calls like solicitors instead of as customers, this is discrimination in its plainest form.3) Yes, E did call to clear the air, and this was great! The follow up was quick, and my boyfriend and I appreciated the gesture! BUT much like the Google review response, E was putting the blame on us, refusing to accept the truth that we are reporting. As a customer service worker, although you fight to defend the goods and high caliber services you provide, there are times when you MUST apologize for the MISTAKES YOU MADE. So yes, while E called back and offered a free cut, not only did it feel like a desperate attempt to erase one negative review, we had already scheduled an appointment with a different, friendlier business!4) If E had simply admitted to his mistake WITHOUT adding any tidbits about solicitors, or saying that we dont understand the impact of Google Reviews, then we would have felt a lot more understanding about the situation. It is the bad initial response, and the bad follow up response that leads me to leave this 1-star review.Its a sad day that people rush to assume someone calling their business is a solicitor rather than a customer, not taking any common sense into consideration.-Sierra

Looking at all the 5 star reviews and just shaking my head. Not my experience at all. Walked in -- sign said walk-ins welcome -- and the owner was cutting someone hair -- no one else in shop. I stood then for a minute and he was looking my direction but did not make any acknowledgement. So I sat down. He continued to just ignore me. It occurred to me that I didnt want to get my hair cut at a place this unfriendly, so got up and left.

Really happy overall! No appt. needed, and wait was very short. Let me tell you my head was a mess when I walked in, hadnt had a cut in almost 2 months! He did an excellent job with just a couple questions and was extremely quick with the scissor, clipper, comb technique he used. I believe he even straight razored my back neck. Had to get my 14 year old with cerebal palsy a haircut. Not only was he polite and patient he gave him the exact cut we were looking for. Hard to find a barber for a handicap child but this place was amazing.
