I’ve been a tenant here for just about a year now and it’s been an absolute pleasure living at 808. The staff is always kind and helpful. Amenities have been hit and miss through the pandemic but that’s understandable, however the staff was very communicative about updates/safety. Would highly recommend.
The place looks fancy but as with all the new construction thats made for profit they have cut corners. Some gates/doors dont work. The elevator has been broken for over a month now. The hot tub works on and off.
I’m extremely satisfied with the support received from the 808 W staff. Troy was a excellent advisor for taking the best option for our needs. James and Laureen were so patient and provides an amazing help in our move in process. You guys made our move in process a stress free milestone. Thank you so much ! Joaquín and myself really do appreciate all your help.
Although we did not end up residing in this complex, I felt that I should share my experience here. The leasing/management team here is excellent and professional. Troy will be one of the most professional leasing individuals you will ever deal with. He helped me and girlfriend on a few different occasions and let us tour the apartment 2 times. Great experience! Highly recommend!!!
Scheduled a tour on Sunday through their official website, received confirmation email, but when I arrived there, the office was closed. I mean, if you are not available on Sunday, why you provide those time slots on your official website? It a waste for my time and money. I cannot understand that.
Started out great, but management is unresponsive to emails after responding quickly for the first email. Maybe theyre short-staffed, but not replying to our complaints for over a week is way too long. Ceilings are really thin - can hear upstairs stomping around all day long, can even hear the kid scream at 7am in the morning. Gate in parking garage is also always broken/not working.
I scheduled a tour to see some apartments in the building, and I had quite a wonderful time. The leasing consultant James was very knowledgeable and made sure to show me all of the key amenities. Moreover, there were some pretty cool new deals and incentives that James made sure to alert me of which helped me in making my decision to apply. Overall, every member of the staff was quite respectful, informative, and patient (esp when I asked for questions). One of the best parts of the whole experience was that James was willing to email me (basically to have a paper trail) for some of the deals that the apartment was doing. This made me feel a lot more secure and made me trust them even more. I have yet to sign a lease, but I will update once I make a decision. Overall, my experience here was wonderful. The staff were honest and engaging. Keep it up!
We love it here! Our apartment is beautiful and feels so much more like a home than our last place. We love the facilities and enjoy using the pool ( I especially love that its heated). The community is clean and well taken care of, and the everyone is so nice in the leasing office. Were so happy we moved here.
The Office and Maintenance staff has been super helpful and friendly. The few issues we have had have been fixed quickly. The amenities are great and are always clean. So far we are happy living here.
I moved in these apartments in April 2018 . The apartment is pet friendly and has some of the best dogs I have ever met. The pool is well heated and the has one of the best gyms I have come across in other apartments I have stayed. It is walking distance from Adobe so very convenient for Adobe folks I bike to work but can easily just walk take around 10 minutes.I would highly recommend these apartments to anyoneOne issue I face day to day is that the fire alarms are super sensitive but u can deal with it if u just open the windows while cooking
Just moved in this past weekend and the entire process was flawless. Jessica and James were super accommodating, fast, and very helpful. Looking forward to the next year here!
24hr well equipped gym. Security. Pleasant staff.5. Maintenance staff— it’s 3 stars because i haven’t had any repair request
We recently had a MAJOR issue at our unit and we thought that we would have to live with the issue the rest of the contract term (a whole year). We were just so discouraged. We have lived at high end apartment complexes in Los Angeles and are used to getting the usual decent customer service. However, the staff at 808 West is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! James and Jessica were very responsive to our needs and wants. Our issue lasted about a month, because of the nature of the issue, but James and Jessica were always ready to listen and act. They scheduled appointments with us, talked, and acted. We have never seen support as excellent as it is here.A major factor for us when deciding where to move was to make sure that there was an office where we could run to for whatever reason ( forgotten keys, to complain, to request things). They have been attentive from day one but what set them apart was their genuine interest to help us.We sleep like babies at night knowing that we have a leasing office as excellent as 808 West.
Jessica was very welcoming and detailed in each apartment room for showing. The apartment is very modern and functional. Has a ton of amenities compared to other apartment complex. Definitely recommend it to anyone!
Jessica has been fantastic!! She is a big factor why I chose 808 west over the other apartment complexes I was considering. She is super knowledgable and patient with my millions of questions
We had a major issue at our apartments with a neighbour immediately after move in, that kept us up for entire nights for a whole week. We reported this to the leasing office, who were super nice and friendly, but weren’t able to really help with the issue. In the end, we had to resolve it ourselves. The leasing office was trying to investigate the issue as something with the building, but unfortunately this wasn’t the issue.Other than that, we really love our apartment. The Amazon hub that we have is really convenient, although we’ve found packages outside our doors sometimes even with nobody home. It is a little noisy outside our apartment (including the bedroom), even though we are on the top floors. The apartment is brand new, which is great! There are also tons of nice amenities, which we really enjoy having.
The shining light at 808 West Apartments is the AMAZING STAFF and modern amenities! 808 West is centrally located with SAP just north, Willow Glen to the south, Downtown is a short bike ride to the east as Santana Row is just a few blocks west. As the sun sets kissing the building’s beautiful facade, enjoy the GREAT FOOD TRUCKS parked right out front twice weekly!
*Moved in early 2019*Has been an overall very positive experience at 808 West. Staff are friendly and responsive. Residents are friendly and welcoming. Barbeque area on 3rd floor opened recently.Pool is heated and excellent gym. Apartments are well designed. There have been some recent security issues reported in the apartment complex. This is a general issue of youth crime across San Jose area. I believe management has responded to these challenges by upgrading all locks, boosting garage security with fencing, and we have security guards on patrol.I hope management continues with this more proactive approach and continue to take further meaningful actions to improve security further, as overall 808 West and residents are worth protecting to build a happy and safe community.
Same day maintenance requests are fulfilled by the Mikey/lalo team. Thank you guys for being so awesome! We really appreciate your help and thank you!
I moved to the apartment after getting a job in the city. The apartments are new and the community is pretty decent. The staff working at the site are very pleasant and welcoming. However, I lost my job 3 months after moving in and had to move across the country.1) They charged me ~ $12,000 to break my lease (30 days notice period + two months rent as a penalty + whatever concession I had received at the time of moving). I understand the buyout option to secure your interest but losing your job is a valid reason. So if you are not 100% sure about your job security, think twice before signing the lease.2) I moved out early January and as of today I still havent received my security deposit. I lived in my apartments only for 3 months and left the space in the same condition I moved in. They still told me I would be charge $320 for general and carpet cleaning. YET, and 3 months later, I still havent received the remaining of the deposit after calling multiple times.3) The firealarm going off few times a day but I understand its because the building was/is still under construction.**UPDATE** 05/22/2019Since I dont know how to respond to the below reply, I will post my update/response here.I was contacted by someone from the office and they told me they would give me all of my security deposit ($500) back. Great, I will take whatever I can after paying almost $10k - 12k.However, when I left the apartment we agreed that I would make that payment in x installments. I now only have 1 installment left, and since last week I have been trying to access my account to pay them money and get this over with, my account seems to have been disabled and prompt asks me to call their office. I have been trying to call their office but no one has been picking up (must be some coincidence!). I left them an email but still havent gotten a response yet! I guess I will just keep the money since you guys clearly dont want it?
Very rude customer service (office).
Great place. Amenities are fantastic. I wish they had a play area for kids.
Great community. brand new luxury apartments.Leasing office staff is very responsive and helpful.
We just recently moved in, but I’m loving the location!! It’s close enough to the city but not directly in the city so you can avoid all the cons of living in a downtown core like noise, traffic etc. Easy to bike around the area to get to groceries, shopping, main train station etc. It’s a brand new complex and it is being completed in phases. All the units are brand new with new appliances and designs. Tons of floor plans to choose from so there’s plenty to meet everyone’s needs. The amenities are great as well, no excuses to get a workout in as it’s right next door. The office staff are wonderful and the maintenance staff also are friendly and respond quickly to any issues :)Lots of great community events to meet neighbors and pets! It’s awesome to still have a sense of community when living in apartments ☺️
The leasing office staff and the maintenance staff are all wonderful and we really appreciate their friendliness and helpfulness. The amenities are also great.
Greatest building in San Jose the stuff super friendly and attentive to all of my needs !The building always look pampered and taken care offI been living here for few months and only have good things to say about the way the building isI have been living In other location and it’s not come as close as this one !
Jessica has been wonderful on all fronts. She has made the transition easy and exciting!
In the midst of tirelessly apartment hunting and coming across properties that just didnt feel like a fit, I drove by 808 West and noticed the banners. I tried looking them up at a red light on my way to another complex, but I took it as a sign after a failed attempt there to double back and check out 808 West. From the moment I stepped foot onto the property, it totally suited my style. Modern, chic, packed with amenities, and very well maintained grounds. In the leasing office, I met with James who gave gave me a tour of a few different floor plans (you just HAVE TO check out the interactive property guide in the leasing office!). The most difficult thing about the property: Choosing a floor plan! Each of their units are well-appointed, and pristine, that I couldnt easily choose. But after crunching numbers, I scored a beautiful A4 unit with vaulted ceilings (bonus!!!). Beautiful and brand new stainless steel appliances, thermostat thats wi-fi ready, and given the new build, was able to get awesome gigabit speeds for working remotely. I would highly recommend this property to everyone. In the time Ive been here so far, Ive felt well taken care of by the leasing office (five stars to each Jessica, Holly, and James!) and the neighbors are all very nice—great diverse demographic living here. Best part? I used to spend 1:30min on 85 to get to work (20mi) and now Im just a 10 min walk to CalTrain ($5 lyft if Im running late...) to the train station...which also means the SAP center/Whole Foods/The Alameda ;). I loved it so much, I went for a 15 mo lease!Do yourself a favor and check out 808 West—youll fall in love with the location and property. The neighborhood is up-and-coming, especially given all of the plans that are in store for San Jose. Hurry since they are fairly new and (1yr+) and the units are going quickly.
We took to advantage of the pre-leasing special and completed an application for their B2 floor model (2B/2Bath) with a move-in date of July 26. However, due to construction delays and possible pre-lease interest, our units were moved around quite a bit with the move-in date. While the process itself was a bit of a workaround, the leasing staff were wonderful and kept us updated throughout. They were also willing to work with us ensure our original move-in date. A very friendly and communicative staffAs for the apartments themselves, they are brand new and floor plans seem well thought out from an early glance. Time and our lease will update us better on the apartment, noise isolation and resident service. For now were happy campers looking forward to our move-in
If it can be given lower star, I would. Do not live in this apartment. Trust me.1. The fire alarm sounded at least once a week, and the apartment explained that it was for the fire test. Can it be tested for three months? Sometimes it sounds at 12 oclock in the middle of the night, sometimes 6 oclock in the morning, which disturbs the rest of the household.2. The staff is extremely inefficient, and it takes a week to fix the elevator. Normally takes just one day in other apartments.3. I received an email from the office saying that the courier had arrived at Office. When I got there, the staff said that I had not received any courier. I thought it was lost by them, or they let the wrong person take the courier.4. The most ridiculous thing is that the date of the move in date is stated in the contract. When the date was approaching, the office even said that due to the delay in the construction period, it was unable to move into the room in the contract on time.
We moved in at the end of April and after living here for a month, these are the observations I have so far.1. Note that parts of the building are still under construction. I moved here knowing this and do not really mind, I understand there are challenges with that. The unit is new and we were the first residents to live in it. This was one of the reasons we moved here. The building is also in a really good location, it’s by the train station and Del Monte Park/Los Gatos Creek trail.2. The leasing office staff are pleasant and friendly, but I feel that they can be more proactive with issues that arise. We have complained several times regarding parking issues in the lot with people taking up 2 spaces with 1 car, cars straight up blocking our vehicle in our spot for an entire day, and people without a parking permit parking inside the lot for extended periods of time (note that the parking fee is $75 a month so these people are just parking for free). The response is usually the same - that they’ll speak to the owners of the cars but I have seen no improvement in parking behavior. Maybe it’s time to actually tow people instead of “talking” as from my understanding, there are other residents complaining about the same issues.3. Our car window was broken into the first week we moved into the building between the hours of 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM. We requested camera footage, but it seems there is only 1 security camera in the garage by the gate and it only has 1 vantage point. Management informed us that more cameras would be installed (it has been a month and we still haven’t seen this happen). At first, we chalked it up to carelessness as we did leave our motorcycle helmet in the car. However, after observing the lack of security in the below points, we realized it could have been prevented had these basic security systems worked properly.4. Security is lacking. There were reported break ins happening that prompted leasing to change all the locks for all the units (seems like maybe some of the construction crew had copies of keys). A resident that was victim of the break in ended up contacting other residents in this building to warn them of what happened as well as explain how management mishandled this incident.5. Several of the door key fob locks don’t work, so the doors are open to anyone. We reported those malfunctioning key fob locks to management the first week we moved in, it’s been a month and nothing has been fixed. Someone who knows the layout of the building could enter without a key and the only thing stopping a break in from happening is your apartment door lock, that’s it.6. Construction workers frequently prop doors open during the day but don’t close the doors after construction, which means any one can enter the property. I’ve had to close doors on my own that I see propped open at night while walking my dog.7. The garage gate has malfunctioned 4x since we’ve moved here, leaving the garage wide open. Supposedly the reason we were given by management for this is because people are parking next to the gate and triggering the motion sensor, but no communication was sent out about not parking next to the gate and no lines were drawn on the ground to indicate no parking next to the gate.Basically, all of the items we are not happy about have to do with security of the building. Make sure if you decide to move in here, you have a security camera installed in your unit as there isn’t much stopping from someone breaking into your apartment.Management has hired a 24 hour security guard after complaints, but if the basic security functions don’t even work, how do you expect 1 security guard to patrol an entire building and keep it safe? My suggestion to building management is to be PROACTIVE with security. Fix your locks, install more cameras, ensure construction people don’t leave doors open, have your security guard check these items as they patrol (instead of sitting on their phones or reading a book in the BBQ area which I’ve witnessed happening). Will update this review if I see improvements.
It is still not fixed. It has been over a month and we are still waiting for it to be finished with.
How the management company is planning to deal with the noise, six days a week, from the Trucking school behind the fence? Just in your back yard. It is unbearable!
Jessica was awesome.
FIRE ALARM NEVER STOP!!!!! IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET SOME REST IN YOUR OWN ROOM!!!!!
In and out quickly and fixed the problem.
