I’ve had multiple wonderful experiences at this business. The owners are incredibly knowledgeable and they never try to rip you off! The first time I went in I needed help getting a couple charms on a necklace. They did it in minutes and didn’t charge me a thing! I most recently went in to get some earrings reset due to a reaction I was having when wearing them. They walked me through a variety of options and recommend I give them a really good cleaning and come back in two weeks if the earrings still hurt. The owner cleaned them up for me and sent me on my way without charging anything again! Just goes to show how lovely they treat their clientele. My other family members have come to this business over the years and love it. If you’re looking for a wonderful small business that will take good care of you then this is the place!

This is a local-owned, family-operated business with a rich history of working in SF. The owners are always manning the store themselves, and have many years of experience in the industry. Theyre kind, honest, and quick.I came in to have stones set for 2 pairs of earrings. They were open about their price, and the time required (I was in no rush, and they did mine in 3 days. When I first called, they immediately assumed I wanted them done by the next day).All that being said, the price is a teensy bit higher than other places, but I think the small premium is worth knowing that the owner (who does the work himself) is giving you his own labour and guarantee.Thank you Andy and Tina!

I came here for a replacement clasp for my 24k chain.The husband told me a replacement clasp was $175. see attached photo. Weight is one gram. I know the price of gold (I check daily) and 1gram is $57The replacement piece he was offering was smaller than mine. So the $175 price he was offering was extortionate.Maybe customers around here can be hustled for these prices. But I know my gold pricing.Beware of this jewelry store. Most diamonds are SI diamonds and gold is only 10k or 14k. Prices are made up.

Every time I walk into West Portal Jewelers INC. I apologize for not buying a watch. I go in to get the battery replaced in my wifes watch and they are always so nice I just feel guilty about only spending $5.95. And today they cleaned the crystal on the watch without me asking and did not charge me anything for doing that. i love you guys. It make me almost want to buy a watch.

I had an expensive gem stone ring re-sized and earrings changed from clips to posts. Both results were beautiful and there is no evidence of the changes. The prices were very reasonable. An older watch needed some parts replaced and originals were no longer available. It works perfectly now after setting untouched for several years. I am extremely pleased and will continue to be a loyal customer.

Tina and the gentleman working were very kind and helpful. They even adjusted a pair of earrings free of charge without me purchasing anything from them before. I will definitely be back!

Took my Baume Mercier to Bock for new battery. They told me they could not do it for lacking the equipment to open the back and recommended that I go to a repair shop on Post St. At the Post St shop, they informed me that the back, the crown and the gasket inside had been damaged. There were scratch marks indicating attempt (s) to open the back. Their verdict was that the watch, even repaired, will NOT be waterproof.any more. I have not worn the watch for months because I have many others. From my simple deduction, I have to assume that the damage was done by Bock.For that reason, I will never go there again though I have gotten batteries many times previously. I am highly suspicious that they tried to forcibly open without the proper equipment. I am quite disheartened by this.RBD, San Francisco
