Lived here for almost 6 years, theyve gone down hill significantly. Maintenance dudes are nice but way overworked. Sandra is a decent manager but the company contracted to pick up the trash show up when they please and not as theyre scheduled. Gate is broken so often its just left open. Always piles of trash stacked up outside of the compactor. Dog park has a loose gate that a small dog could escape through through their way of addressing it is 2 large rocks. The buildings are shifting so there are visible cracks in the walls, at least in my building. Less doctors and nurses living here now, more immigrants. Price is fair considering my rent hadnt fluctuated with the market but what I paid 6 years ago vs now, you get what you paid for.

I cannot express enough how I much I regret having lived here. The complex seems nice enough from the surface (though the lawn maintenance is terrible. There are so many weeds with thorns in the grass that my dog was afraid to walk near the poop station). But one you are locked in, these people are desperate to get every bit of money from you that they can. A resident of my building and myself were both fined for caring for pets over a very short period of time as the result of family medical emergencies. The management did not care and would not waive the fines in addition to charging deposit and additional pet rent.I did not get any email to alert me of my need to file a 60 day move out warning in spite of not renewing my lease (I received no alert about my lease expiring either). They will just auto renew your lease to keep you paying.Additionally, there have been break-ins to both apartment units and cars parked in the lot. The last one happened to a neighbor the week that I moved out.I began as a happy tenant who was in good communication with the office but within a few months I hated living here so much that I decided to find a condo. As a complex that caters to students, you would expect some leniency but to VCGroup, their tenants are just a way to make money. Find a complex not run by these people. My review may sound extreme, but look at the others and you will see why you should look elsewhere.

I love the landscaping, cant wait to see it in full bloom!!I have yet to see anyone not pick up after their dog which is EVERYTHING to me. My dog seems happy too.Only gripe is unless you have a valid licence you cant get a sticker to park inside the gate....... even if you carry insurance. (super dumb)

Make sure to ask for a copy of the rules handbook while you are touring. You are not allowed to have guests stay for more then 3 consecutive days, and guests cannot stay for over 6 days in a course of a 6 month period. Guests staying overnight will have to have a parking slip signed by the office for each day to avoid towing. Can become inconvenient if you have family visiting. There are plenty of other strict rules so just make sure you are aware of them when you are deciding which apartment sign a lease with. The complex itself is nice and clean.

Lived here for 3 years and had an overall just ok experience. Apartment complex is on the older side. Expect electricity bill to be higher due to mediocre insulation. Paid on averaged $60-80 a month for electricity for a 700ish square foot apt and we run our AC between 73-76 (which usually doesn’t even feel like the set temp). Expect hardwater stains in the sink and bathtub that you’ll be charged for to clean on move out even if you spend all day cleaning it. Didn’t get our full deposit back because they were nitpicking on the cleaning. Kinda ridiculous since I remember when we moved in the floors were sticky and there was broken glass all over the back patio. Not to mention all the appliances had rust and was not super cleaned either since the apartment complex is on the older side. They charged us for discoloration of wall painting which was there before we moved in, dust on the ceiling fan which we definitely cleaned before moving out, and other random things. Even personally spent money to get the carpets professionally cleaned because they state that in the contract, but was then told on move out day that they were gonna change out the carpet anyways. There was always random trash in the hallways. Probably just trying to keep as much of the deposit that they can, which I don’t appreciate because I lived here for 3 years and was a good resident.

The web was down for initial application. It was a nightmare. The leasing agent Megan was rude during the showing of the apartment. I really liked the apartment and the location so I leased it anyway but intensely regret it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first week, my car got broken into. The main gate that was suppose to be closed remained open and broken for months. The dryer took a month to get replaced, causing my light bill to be twice as high. Now my washer is not working. There was a mosquito infestation that needed pest control who was in the apartment for 3 minutes and did a focused spray to one area even if the problem was more than one area. The list goes on and I count the days for my lease to end so I can move out. Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.

11/10 would NOT recommend. I have lived in several other apartment complexed and have never experienced such terrible management. They want to get you and charge you for EVERYTHING as if the hefty rent price was not enough. The apartment manager, Sandra, is very passive aggressive. WORST living experience I have had (and I lived in a tiny dorm room with community bathrooms in college).***********Update: my lease was finally up and I was able to move out after just living there for one year. Upon move out I got slapped with a ton of fees including one for leaving crumbs under the stove. And this is on top of numerous ridiculous fees I got charged for while living there. This place is ridiculous. DO NOT RENT HERE! The property is very nice and well kept, but the positives end there. Do not be sucked in by appearances. If I could give zero stars I would.

Sounds like numerous horrible experiences and nightmare reviews...all pretty consistent with the same shady and corrupt ways this complex is managed. Seems like they love to rip people off. First off I have to say I loved my floor plan and the location of my actual unit, other than that that is all I can say I liked about this place. I had a problem with ants upon moving in and it took 3 weeks for the exterminator to come and spray, so I had to go buy spray myself. They are very inconsistent with rules of the facility. Parking is very terrible. They barely have enough spaces to cover the units, let alone any visitors to come over. I was very upset about my expenses when I moved out. I didnt mind the charge for paint as I hung pictures, or the cleaning fee of $100 eventhough I cleaned the place. I was irritated for the other $100 charge to clean the carpets that were clean before I left. I was unable to clarify why I was charged that, but if it is a regular thing they do between tenants then I think that should be at their expense. I asked for a walk through before i left to get an idea of possible charges, but they refused to do that with me. I know I left that apartment pretty much better than how I found it, so it ate my security deposit plus a little more. I just cant really can not recommend this place, and I am not sur if i would go to any of their sister properties.

Did not have a good first time experience whatsoever. Was barely attended to or asked about anything from the front office person. It was not rush time and I was the only person there. Not even casual conversation. Seemed like they just wanted to get rid of me. Just blandly handed me a brochure and then sat silent until I left. Extremely dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism and courtesy. Went to another apartment who gave me amazing service and showed a lot of kindness and respect and signed up the lease with them instead. If professionalism, courtesy, respect, and good communication are important then look elsewhere.

First of all, Im not sure why these other reviewers had so many problems - our experience has been the exact opposite. My husband is a medical student and we took a chance on this place when we moved here because we had short notice and just went for it. It worked out though, and we feel really lucky. Ive never had a single problem with management and weve been here for two years, and probably will stay for another two. We have a few friends who are also med students who stayed/will stay here for all four years as well.I LOVE the layout of our apartment; we have a reading nook in the master bedroom and built in bookshelves, and so much counterspace in the kitchen its crazy. Also the pantry is huge! And (I know this was an issue with a lot of other apartment complexes we looked at) weve never had a single pest problem.About management - everything with them is really straightforward, and the maintenance team is really responsive. Its always been the same two or three guys working maintenance and theyre really nice and very respectful. I like that they havent had much turnover because it means I know who is going to be working in my living space.I honestly dont really have any complaints. I guess sometimes the pool is too crowded? But that just means people are having a good time, and I dont see anything wrong with that. I think its a good place for singles, couples, and small families.

I do not know why they ordered us to clean the apartment. All this meticulous cleaning cost us material losses. Extra on the rental of a device to clean the carbide and all repairs We did it, if in any case they were taking the same fines, it is impossible to think of going back to these apartments

Do not move here! I’ve lived here almost two years now and there have been numerous issues from the office staff, to maintenance staff, etc. The office and maintenance staff are constantly changing every few weeks. You will pay the equivalent to a mortgage payment but yet half of the stuff in your apartment will never work. Example: dishwasher, washer broke and flooded my wash room three or four times before they did anything, the dryer completely died before they did anything also. Dishwasher only worked one time, put in a work order request....nothing ever happened. But the most frustrating thing of all? Being told by not only the office assistant manager but also being told by the maintenance supervisor that we needed to have an electrician called to my home because of a shortage that kept causing my light in my master bedroom to go out since the day that I moved in here...... here I am all this time later, still WITH NO LIGHT. Anytime I’ve requested the light be fixed I not only get an attitude from the office staff but the maintenance staff as well. You would think that these apartments being labeled as “luxury apartments” I could at least have my master bedroom and bathroom lights working, but I guess not. If I were you, look somewhere else.

Bottom line: They love to find ways to charge you fees yet are quick to excuse their own shortcomings.Weve had a lot of problems with the maintenance and upkeep. This includes the upkeep of a backyard that weve paid extra rent to have. It has been flooding and unusable for over 8 months. Despite our consistent inquiries, they have yet to find a solution. The washer machine they made us keep (not allowed to bring your own) also broke for months before they addressed it. Turned out to be a very simple fix. Theyve also charged us exorbitant fees for simple violations with no opportunity to explain ourselves (i.e. being charged $300 for watching our parents dog for a couple days).Generally Im a pretty relaxed guy and it takes a lot to get me frustrated, but this is one of the worst managed out of the many complexes weve lived in. Overall, I would not recommend it to anyone wanting to live next to the medical center. There are lots of other great options.

The Villas at Medical Center appears very nice. The units are all nicely maintained, abundant parking spots are available, and the rent is a reasonable price. But their MANAGEMENT IS THE WORST and they are so DIFFICULT. We were charged a total of $800 upon moving out for absolutely ridiculous things. We had the unit professionally cleaned and returned the unit in the EXACT condition we received it in, if not better-- yet they still found random things to charge us on. We spent 2 months after moving out questioning why we were charged so much but management took over a month to get back to us and also failed to provide sufficient reasoning for why we were being charged. I have read several reviews of this place online and have come to realize we are not the only ones who have had a similar experience with unexpected, unnecessary charges to our account upon moving out. I would not recommend this apartment complex to ANYONE. Please do yourself a favor and live elsewhere.

The staff on site were nice, but the office they use to do their accounting (Management Support) is not great. I moved out early, signed an early lease termination agreement, paid what the agreement said I owed, and thought I was fine. They then sent me a final account statement full of errors, and three months later I am still trying to straighten it out with them. So far they have quoted three different amounts that they say I owe. They seem to keep terrible records.

Not Veteran Friendly. For the most part the staff has always been friendly enough and maintenance addresses issues promptly. However, the new manager comes across as inconsiderate and lacking in emotional intelligence when dealing with residents. Im a disabled military veteran. I live alone. After returning from out of town for a work trip. I had a very bad back spasm, as happens quite often due to several injuries incurred in the line of duty. I was unable to literally walk and could only crawl to put the garbage onto my patio until my family member could come to help me and take me to the hospital. Once we returned from the hospital that afternoon, the manager comes to knock on my door (aggresively, as shes done on several occassions before), and reprimand me with an attitude about my trash. She didnt bother to ask me if there were a reason, and perhaps if shed been just a little kind in her interaction I would have explained to her my situation. But this did not happen. Im one of many military veterans living in this location, so I think it would make sense for this company and its employees to know their residents/customer base and consider the manner in which they engage with them. Ive been a very quiet resident for the entirety of the time Ive lived here. I deal with a neighbor whose dog has barked incessantly (literally) all day, other residents have turned their patios into virtual outside storage with junk always out on display. Yet, she chose to approach me in a nasty manner about a trash being on my patio (which wasnt even in view from the street) for a couple of hours because I was sick and unable to walk it out. She even had the audacity to ask me in a condescending manner Do you know where the trash compactor is? as if Im dumb.I will not recommend this location to other veterans due to this manager specifically. People need to learn compassion in business, particularly if you work in an area with people with injuries/disabilities, but being kind should be a basic characteristic you show anyone.

Have lived in this complex a bit over two years. Within this time frame we have had numerous issues with management. Starting with the apartment being given to us with a broken window (that went unreplaced until this year). Work orders are processed weeks sometimes months after they’re submitted. Several times we had concerns as tenants that were addressed by Sandra (property manager) that were either laughed off or completely ignored. Have told them before we would be contacting property owners and have had no change in demeanor. Repeatedly have heard from neighbors about Sandra’s attitude and lack of professionalism when addressing any of their concerns. Sadly the complex itself isn’t exactly nice or new enough to overlook the overwhelming lack of courteousness from management.

NOT MILITARY FRIENDLY. RIPPED ME OFF ON DEPOSIT AFTER I GOT ORDERS. I lived here for about 10 months. The neighbors are very friendly. When I got military orders to leave I gave Tonya and Trevor a heads up in January and filled out the paperwork to leave in May 31, 2017. The orders didnt drop officially drop in the system until the beginning of May but they told me to fill out the paperwork and just bring it when I got them. When I bought them in Michelle had no clue what was going on because it was not saved in the system. Trevor no longer worked there and my paperwork was never submitted. I resubmitted it to Tonya. On the day I went to turn my keys in the Manager didnt even no I was moving. She claimed she looked up my file and it was not in the system that I was moving and she did not even see my orders. I had to wait to come back the next day and turn my keys into Tonya because she was the only one who seemed to know what was going on. I move out and I get a call from Tonya 2 weeks later asking me to submit my orders AGAIN because they couldnt find it. Then she called back and said they found it. I paid a total of $300 for a deposit $200 for a pet deposit and $100 for the regular deposit. They charged me 87.07 for carpet cleaning which was expected because I did not clean the carpet before I left. They charged a $50 exterminator fee for having a dog which was another expected charge in the lease agreement. Then they just started adding ridiculous charges for paint for 67.26 a cleaning for 97.21. I cleaned this apartment before I left. They took the entire deposit and I owe them $44.00. Do NOT move here they will RIP you off when its time to leave. I have never owed any complex i ever lived in money after moving out. I have always got my deposit back. Here they took the entire deposit and I owe them an additional $44. This place is ridiculous!

Easily the biggest disappointment of any apartment Ive ever lived in, and the sad thing is that I had a relatively pleasant experience while I was actually living there for a year. After turning over the keys to a clean, vacant apartment, I was slapped with several hundred dollars of charges for cleaning, carpet cleaning, and paint among other things, with no further explanation. From that point forward, the leasing office (who initiated these charges) refused to discuss the matter with me, referring me to their comically incapable account resolution specialists. I find it laughable how they are supposed to be the solution to the recent flurry of one-star reviews.ARSes simply do not answer the phone You have to leave a voicemail, and an ARS will call you back in 2-3 business days. If you miss the ARSs call, because you are say...busy working at your job...youre out of luck. You have to leave another voicemail and wait for another phone call from an ARS in 2-3 business days. And even when you finally do get to chat, they dont really have anything of substance to offer. Thats enough about ARSes, but I just wanted to shed some light on the ridiculous responses to poor reviews on here.Ultimately, the charges were reduced from a few hundred to a couple hundred dollars. I was provided with a copy of my lease I already had, a list of damages that included things like crumbs and lint and shower rod needs replacement (funny...I could have sworn I put multiple maintenance requests about that last one), and a bunch of vague invoices for what is undoubtedly their routine turnover of their units.I will be writing them a check for that couple hundred dollars, because I have much better things to do with my time than argue with a bunch of crooks who would shamelessly send the balance to a collections agency, but I fully plan to publicize my frustrations with my network at the UT Health Science Center in order to spare my friends and colleagues there of this frustration. They will lose upwards of $10,000 for every 12-month lease my testimony prevents.Unspectacular property. Shady management company. Ridiculous move-out charges for all residents to pay for their routine unit turnover. Do yourself a favor and do business with a more respectable rental company in NW San Antonio. One star.Update: Look at the ridiculous automated response from the owner. That really tells you everything you need to know about this management company. You couldnt pay me to call the ARSes again, and its hilarious that they think I have a resident handbook months after I moved out. Maybe they should actually read all the terrible reviews of their properties and be proactive about doing some damage control with the growing cohort of furious former clients if they aspire to actually be respectable one day What a joke!
