Ive been renting for over 5 years now. It started as an very nice place to live but now its problem after problem. Maintenance has always been an issue. Ive submitted multiple request with special instructions and theyve never been respected. Im still missing a towel rack in the shower since the first year. Also my living room walls have water stains for years now from windows and roof leaking. They did replace the roof but never addressed the walls as requested. Recently, management received an green energy loan and changed all toilets, lights bulbs and faucets to save on electricity and water but left us with almost no water pressure. It is almost impossible to efficiently do even the basics such as washing ones hands. All we need to do is pass inspection they said. Hooray for finally jumping on the green bandwagon but priorities are surely misplaced. They bluntly ignore more pressing problems such as broken windows, constantly broken gates and missing sidings on buildings. On a positive note, kuddos to the landscaping team for keeping the grounds aesthetically pleasing and Ive definitely enjoyed some great celestial viewings from the balcony.
Honestly, don’t have many complaints. Really nice complex. When we moved in we had some issues, but once the new manager came in it got resolved right away. The property and quality of the apartment is great! The pool is nice and they have a dog park. I love the layout of our apartment too. Plus, they have valet trash which is a huge plus. It’s a great apartment for the price.
The car washing equipment and swimming pool have been broken for several months, and no one has come to repair them. The water in the swimming pool is already green, and it looks like aquatic plants are about to grow.
The complex is nice and quiet, it’s a pretty spacious unit. I honestly love my space! However I’ve had problem after problem since I moved in. I was told I couldn’t move in the unit for about 12 days after I signed the lease, just to come in and things were literally on by a thread. I have a work order for just about every month I’ve been in the unit. Let me tell y’all the kicker for me... I asked for drain stoppers in OCTOBER. They told me they ordered them & marked my work order complete. Being that I have a work order for just about every month, I have asked about the stoppers when I see the maintenance men. Every time was told they didn’t come in yet. It is now February & I still don’t have any stoppers. Not a big deal right?! Well, during the snow storm I realized how vital they really are. I’m in the position where I can’t hold water in my sinks to clean my food or dishes. I emailed asking for the stoppers and was told they didn’t have time to take my request since other units were flooding. They also stated that I would be informed once they received the stoppers. As you can imagine that was very upsetting bc where did the stoppers supposedly order in October go? I have emailed the situation to their Regional manager, and haven’t received a reply yet. So unless you know how to fix your own house or enjoy DIYs, wouldn’t recommend.
I absolutely love how all the 5 star reviews on the website are fake. The horrible service. Terrible management. And everything else that should be great when the photos they post are all grand. Are all fake. I had a roach infestation for 6 months, had bug people come to take care of it. Never got it taken care of. Still not fixed even from the day i moved out. DO NOT MOVE HERE.
Ive lived in these apartments for about 7 months now, and when the lease is up I WILL NOT be renewing!! We pay over $1300 a month here and the problems here are endless. First of all our mailboxes are CONSTANTLY getting broken into and management says they are working on getting new mailboxes (what a joke)! They need to fix the lighting at the mailboxes and maybe put up a camera. Second, trying to get maintenance to fix anything correctly and timely is slim to none. Parking is hard to find, and the roaches are horrible (pest control should spray once a week, but that doesnt happen unless you keep bugging the management). They dont keep up with the green pool during the summer....the ist goes on and on....
I just moved here from out of state, and this is my absolute favorite apartment Ive ever had, in almost 20 years of renting apartments. My cats absolutely love being able to slide around on the wood floors. Valet trash is a new experience for me, and its my new favorite thing.
This apartment gets 3 stars because there’s pros and cons, more cons. Firstly, the inside of the apartments have a nice layout and relatively nice. SQ ft you get for the price really isn’t bad. Community is absolutely awful. Dog poop literally everywhere you go. Dog park doesn’t look like it’s been touched since it got built 10 years ago, pretty unsafe for your dog. Dead grass everywhere. Trying to get anyone to come and repair anything in your apartment is pretty impossible. Been here 2 months and management has changed 3 times, each person saying they’re here to stay and every time you visit the front office, there’s someone new. If you’re living with some roommates and trying to get some bang for your buck, this is an awesome place if you can deal with the unkept community. Safe, central and nice area but far from luxury apartments. Just my $0.02
Cali gets a 5 star from me she has such great customer service and answers all you needs!!!! she can run that office with her eyes closed if you asked me. Cali is management status give that girl a raise. She knows her stuff and tours the property very well!!! Thank you Cali we will be renting from you soon
Rude manager and her service
Callie gets a 5 star, she is great and answers all your questions. Her customer service is a A+. BUT the ASSISTANT MANAGER is extremely rude. She naturally just comes off rude making you not want to lease there..... not going to go into detail, to say the least we will not lease there because of her. We had been touring many apartments around SA and these were the ones we actually liked and went back for another tour days later. Our last visit wasn’t so pleasant with this manager. (Callie wasn’t in the office). OWNERS get someone like Callie as a manager that strives for customer service.
I found my new home! I went to visit the community this passed weekend and absolutely loved it! The location is great, the office staff made me feel beyond welcomed! September couldnt get here fast enough! Rosemarie you are the best!
They wont let you see the actual unit until you sign a lease. They will only show you a model unit or virtual tour.
My first apartment ever and the best moving in experience! I want to thank my leasing consultant RoseMarie and the office staff for being so nice and welcoming! My apartment is so beautiful and has everything I need. I’m excited about all the changes and the events that are coming up. Thank you Archer Stone Canyon for making my entire experience the best!
I didn’t even know this places existed lol. Beautiful place and it looks like they’re doing some renovations soooo can’t wait to see how that goes. Callie was so sweet and amazing. She took me around the amenities and their show apartment answering all my questions. Definitely made me feel comfortable even though it was her first day. The place is clean and organized, you can tell the manager really takes pride in the community. I highly recommend visiting if you’re looking in the stone oak area.
I moved here last year in 2019 it was beautiful property with great staff who care about the residents, maintence was quick & fast . New management took over in 2020 are rude, lie about recieving your packages, never answer the office phone, maintence take forever. New management has ruined this property.Tub needs to be resurfaced put in several request nothing .
Incredibly professional friendly staff. Overall a great experience.
Ive been at this complex a little over a year and I didnt have major issues until new management took over and I switch units on 4/1/20. I transfer to a new/ move in ready unit(the management team said it was move in ready) I pay $400 more dollars in rent and below are pictures of the unit. The management team have been notified of the issues; light fixtures in the bathroom keep flickering, cabinets are stain, dishwasher needs to be mounted, tubs are discolored and paint chipped, bathroom sink leaks, toilet runs all day and night, latches on the front door and bedroom door are loose. I mention all that to the property manager Rachel and all they did was make excuses. My family and me still havent bathed in the tubs because they are not washable. Once I moved in I did clean the whole apt; but this is still what it looks like. I havent been in the apt for a full week and this is what im dealing with. I even reach out to corporate to get a time frame or to see if they can move us to a move in ready apt and im still waiting to hear back. Please dont move here especially if your apt is not complete before you move in.
This is definitely going to be my next home. Definitely has it all from modern appliances and decor to luxurious amenities. The staff is on point explaining all they have to offer and very professional yet friendly.
I moved here 4 months ago, and love my new home. The staff is amazing and very polite. I love that the staff does follow ups on my work orders and lets me know when my packages arrive in the office. I love the new changes that are being done here on property ( valet trash pick up, abandoned vehicles towed away and keeping up with the breezeways to avoid any rodents) KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK ARCHOR STONE STAFF!!!
I had the best experience thanks to Rosemarie. She was so helpful, very professional and most of all knowledgeable of the complex. I would definitely recommend anyone to her that is seeking a new place to live.
Love, love, love my Archer Stone Canyon Apartments and the changes they are doing. Accommodating staff, beautiful property inside and out. Wonderful changes with the carports! I highly recommend!
This a such a great complex! I love the property & I’m absolutely loving all the changes they are making. I Highly recommend & give the staff & property 5 stars for being so amazing!
The apartments are nice and we have a great view. There have been no issues with management. The dog park area does need to be maintained better, however this is due to irresponsible pet owners not picking up after their dogs. This apartment complex is quiet and safe. The location is great and easy access to 281.
Rosemarie was extremely pleasant, professional and helpful. Complex is beautiful and clean. Pool and grounds look to be well maintained. Quite possibly my best experience looking.
The office staff are very nice and do their job well. I’ve heard a lot of people complaining about their cars being towed and people getting upset about getting fined for trash being out. The leasing office is doing their job to uphold a specific standard of living and to keep it beautiful and clean. Trash on the porch is an eye sore and not cleanly. You live in an apartment, so expect to take your trash out unless you have valet trash. Even with valet trash, there are SPECIfIC times. As for the cars being towed, they are strict when it comes to broken down cars just sitting there. Again, for community standards! The apartments are spacious and cleanly. I have had no issues with the leasing professionals or issues in the apartment. My neighbors and I are happy.
I havent moved in yet but my interaction with the office has been great so far. Some of the places I looked at took over 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge I was there. The apartment is big and beautiful for the price in that area. I will post again after I have lived there for a little while.
Kristin the Manager and her staff have been nothing but very welcoming to my arrival. They have gone above and beyond to make me feel at home and answering every question promptly that I have. I hope Kristin never leaves this place as long as Im here!
This community has some of the most modern features. The staff is well knowledgable and pleasant! If you do not live here you are not living in peace!!
I wish the new management took care of the place the way the old management did. I have requested repairs for 2 months, and not little ones, and they have yet to fix anything. The old management would have everything taken care of within 72 hours. Our gated community had a broken gate for 6 months before they repaired it. I have lived here for several years and I am putting my notice in. I can see what type of people they are going to be attracting.
Weve been living here for over 5 years and as with any apartment complex, there are pros and cons. However, there ARE a few helpful tips and tricks to living here that make Avana a great and family-friendly place to live. If youre interested in finding out what those tips are from a family whose been here awhile and can tell you first-hand, as well as just general info like how much our water and electricity bills are, please message me and mention me in your apartment application and Id be happy to even split the $500 referral bonus with you.
Im happy living in Avana Stone Canyon, all my repair request has been taking care very fast people in the office and manteinace are always kind and helpful, my 2 bedroom apartment with loft is very spacious and everybody love it. My kids enjoy the amenities and is save for them to play in the community. My only complaint is that some of the neighbors do not take care of the common areas we share but I guess that depends of each individual.
Cars get towed for no reason, & the office employees are very rude. Would definitely avoid these apartents. 🚫
Awesome management, great place. Rosemarie is the BEST! Highly recommend.
I love living here. Rose Marie is a great person she is responsible and helpful I really like her
At the beginning of our stay... it was a little rocky but there was a change in management that we appreciate... especially Mz. Rosie... always making sure everything was ok... thank you to all the staff...!
I love all the changes that have been made, the apartments look amazing! The staff is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful!!
I love these apartments and floor plans they offer are amazing and they have made alot of changes I really recommend
Save yourself the money, and DO NOT move here. We pay 1200 a month for what is supposed to be a luxury apartment, which hardly qualifies for a single star. The staircases are NEVER cleaned and the place is poorly kept. They have hired painters to come and experiment with colors, so they have painted a total of 5 different (horrible) colors in the front of the lot, and after a month, still have yet to fix the paint job (which looks INCREDIBLY tacky and unkept). The interior of the apartment was not fixed up upon our arrival (paint chipped counters, paper peeling off of the cabinets, fridge light hanging down, etc..which still has yet to be fixed 4 months into the lease). Our lights never stay on due to an electrical wiring malfunction (which is a huge issue considering we lose unsaved data on our appliances on the drop of a dime unexpectedly). We have reported this several times and still have yet to have the issue resolved. The management is HORRIBLE. Liz, in particular, is NOT friendly nor is she the least bit efficient. This experience has been, by far, the WORST that I have EVER had in an apartment complex. The end of this lease could not come soon enough.
Trash EVERYWHERE both security gates have been run into and no longer work or provide Any security, that happened a few weeks ago and after my husband inquired about it in person and they simply told him it was expensive and they were trying to get it taken care of we still have no gate, security, or explanation. Maintenance is a joke, they are completely incompetent. Roaches and worms chipped paint and dirty counters and knobs, letting us know that they hardly even cleaned the place, much less made it move-in ready Luxury apartments lol no no no no no slumming it is more like it! Dont make this mistake! If it would allow me to I would put my actual opinion 0 Stars
Friendly staff and great amenities!
My leasing experience was smooth and seamless. The customer service and knowledge of the system was very evident. Thank you Payum for the continued service to us all. I feel at home.
I loved it, great people mostly angle he is super helpful and super nice. The office has great coco and coffee and a nice gaming part and it always has service right on time
Appartments are nice well maintained.Aminities are really awesome, they keep swimming pool very clean..leasing staff is very helpfull and Rosemarie is very helpfull too
We moved to these apartments when they were called Avana Stone Canyon- moving from CA and doing everything online is very risky but the previous staff were very helpful and although there were a few problems with Yassy and the former staff it was a pretty good stay.Once the new company took over it all went downhill though, very sad.We couldnt get info on the new rent amount would be if we were to renew our lease, every time we called we got the runaround. Very bad business practice if you want to keep good tenants. We eventually decided to move since the property was starting to become very awful to come home to.Not exactly fault of the new company and not sure what theyve done to solve this issue since we moved out (Oct 2018)- but coming home to disgusting stained floors with trash all over the place was not ideal. It was so bad because of the trash company and I believe other neighbors placing oils and liquids in their trash knowing the valet company has to carry that down 3 floors. We sent many emails in regards to this as well as the lights in the parking lot not working as I got off of work at 4 am and did not feel safe walking to my apartment in the dark. There were also pests in our apartment- this is common in apartments but we kept the place very orderly and got rid of them on our own using boric acid but they continued to come back which truly grossed us out.The only positives were the really great sized 3 bedroom apartments. They were super spacious all the rooms were good sized and had walk in closets. The proximity to food and stores was great as well as the park for our kids to play. Finally the worst part of all was the communications we had with the manager regarding our deposit. Charging for things that are considered normal wear and tear and an in detail that didnt make sense. Its a continuous passive aggressive email war that my family does not have time for although it is completely unfair and Im convinced all apartment companies keep entire deposits no matter what.Sad to say but unless they have made some major upgrades I think you should save your hard earned money, look elsewhere.
The experience was awsome....the staff was perfect and facility was beautiful.
Receptionist wasnt wearing a mask even though she requires that I wear a mask.
I dont have enough characters to explain how happy I am with Avana Stone Canyon. I have lived at a few apartments in San Antonio and it is by far the best. The application process took no more than 10 minutes and Yassy was such a delight to work with it && a blessing in disguise . I cant imagine living anywhere else. Its still early in my lease but I have no complaints. My air was broke and not only did maintenance fix it but he even closed my windows which I thought was a beautiful gesture and very kind. I recommend this place to everyone, well not everyone but I am soo happy with my new home. I would give it 10 stars if I could.
I had lived there for many years. Yes the old management had their issues but the community was good and I knew that what they said they would do, would get done. Now with the current management I have no faith in anything that they say. The property manager is a ridiculous liar. She smiles and puts on a nice face but in the end she will find anyway to make a problem that you have, your fault. She takes no responsibility and does not notify any of the tenants properly before doing anything. The rest of the staff is good, helpful, but that manager needs to go. If you do rent here do not believe anything that she says, or at least take it with a grain of salt.
Parking is terrible. Not enough spots. Parking lot is dark the lot lights have been out for months. Its dangerous and unsafe. The buildings are littered with trash. Fast food bags always on steps. Not a good value.
The manager is extremely rude, unapologetic, and unaccomidating. Gym has been run down and unserviced for months, gate has been broken for months and the excuse is because the wind will break it, when I moved in their were roaches that I had to exterminate myself along with clean the apartment myself while moving in. They only keep dog disposal areas on one half of the apartment complex so half of it is covered in dog waste. Pool table isnt kept up with either. Im one person in an apartment and they cant accomidate a single parking space for me, I have to park across the entire complex because if I park in the unlegible “fire lane” that all of the residents along with myself have parked in for the last 14 months they now get towed because we have a new company taking over that could care less about the people who reside here. Horrible complex, ugly exterior, ugly management and office staff, and dirty apartments upon move in.
These apartments were a GREAT place to live when we had the old assistant manager, Yassy, and front office personnel, Payam, from Greystar. Once the apartments were sold to Internacional Realty Group, it has been nothing but horrible customer service. The online portal does not have an option for “other amount” if you would like to pay little by little ahead of the due date. The new portal has “extra amount”, and not paying full attention while on the phone with the front office questioning some charges, I accidentally put an amount on the “extra amount” thinking it was other amount and ended up paying double by accident…which I could not afford to do. When trying to get this resolved I got nothing but a run around for 2 days by Lauren and Kayla, and my phone calls were even avoided when my name was seen on the caller ID. On the 3rd day I finally talked to the manager, Kristin, who was also no help at all. In her words, it wasn’t their error so there was nothing they could do. How is there not a policy in place just in case something like this happens? If there is, they were just too lazy to figure out a solution that could actually be done since they are still learning the new system. The only option I could do to get this resolved was to do an ACH dispute. Once that was done, Kristin still wanted to charge me a late fee, when I was never late to begin with, and an ACH NSF Fee, which I should not be liable for either because if they do not have a way to resolve it and doing a dispute was my only option they should waive that fee also. The only fee I was able to get waived was the late fee and not the NSF fee. The whole week was nothing but disappointment from them. After all of that, I am now trying to put in a maintenance request and nobody has come out to fix something simple since Monday (4 days ago). Many residents have been moving out, and I cannot wait to be one of them once my lease is up. My rent money is paying people who just come to work for a paycheck and don’t care about their residents, and I refuse to re-sign and have my hard earned money pay those people.
We moved here in Nov. of 2017 from another state. I have been working here for almost a year and wanted to get my family here with me. I work a lot of hours and didn’t have time to look at houses as with the market here they go really fast. I blame myself, bc the one time I visited this place before we moved here, I had been working for almost 36 straight hours and didn’t adequately inspect the place. When we arrived to take possession of the unit, it was not in what you would think a unit would be when you are first moving in. There were knicks on the walls that needed touched up, the counter tops had to be replaced, the outside of the door going to the patio was and still is missing bowling ball sized amounts of paint, missing light bulbs, among a few other minor things. We almost backed out that night, but after talking with Yassi the next day, she assured us that they would make everything right. Plus we had most of our belongings in a moving truck and didn’t want to have to live in hotel until we signed on another place. They did replace the counter tops in the kitchen and one of the bathrooms. But that’s about it. I finally went and got paint myself from them and bought my brushes and rolling pan to do the interior stuff myself. The outside of the door has yet to be done. I heard it was because of weather, but we have had countless days that the temps were in the right condition to paint. The gate has been broken over half the time that we have lived here. I know that it’s not their fault people run into it, but that’s why they have insurance so they can fix it in a timely manner. The concrete in the breezeways has stains and is an eyesore. The one dumpster we have, sits out front and is usually overflowing with trash in and outside of it. There is trash around all the buildings. People fly through the parking lot with their vehicles. We have had to complain numerous times about people partying. Not to mention the drunk who was taking a piss off his balcony that actually splashed on my wife. Luckily for his sake, she didn’t tell me until after I had already left for work and hasn’t been around much since. The staff is nice and I think they try to accommodate. I don’t know if the owners just refuse to allow them proper funds to make this a nice place or what? All in all, if you have a family and want them to live in a nice place, I’d look elsewhere. It seems like this would be more suitable for college kids. We will definitely not be resigning our lease as we hope to have closed on our house when the this one is up.
High turnover rate of office staff and maintenance staff here! Current manager is young.Water is allocated. Our 2 bed, 2 bath apartment with trash is $1200 a month including rent. Water is different month to month and electricity fluctuates between $40-100/month depending on how much you use.Maintenance guys are ok, young, but ok. They wont check back in with you after doing a job so be prepared to bug them until the job gets done right. They dont have a lot of experience. The last group of staffers use to throw pool parties for the residents, this group does not.As for the neighbors who live here...Im going to estimate that 60% are Indian, 30% Hispanic, 20% White and 10% African American. Crime is low. Mainly families that live here. The exercise room has plenty of weight machines and one working stair stepper. The rest of the equipment doesnt work.Pool is very nice with two large charcoal grills for parties. Weve had a lot of issues with this new staff when it comes to getting them to do whatever it takes to clean our pool. I think its resolved now.We now have an online Avana Stone Canyon community forum where all of us residents can talk to each other and give tips and tricks to living here. Were a community. We stick together.
We moved in to Avana Stone Canyon managed by GreyStar in August 2017, now Archer Stone Canyon managed by IR. We moved into a 3B 2B in building 9. Since moving here; we have had little trouble with bugs, the occasional visitor but I typically keep everything very clean. The management have been prompt to allow for repairs. We did have issues in Summer of 2018 with A/C going out and took well into a week to get it fully resolved, fixing coils, and other things until getting the unit replaced. The previous office staff was good, can not speak to the new staff. Requested information and pricing for staying here; once the new management company took over was sketchy at best, did not have pricing for weeks. Made choice to move out as the communication is key for me.Trash is a concern here, constant littering by the tenants as well messes by the trash bins, not enough of them. Gates are always broken and left open. Parking is good between B9-8, however there are some troubles in other parts of community. The floors in breezeways for most buildings are beyond dirty and really need to be sand blasted due to oil and other nastiness. This has made it not enjoyable to come home. We will be moving out this month due to trash, lack of communication and involvement from management as well high cost. The pros are having a good school and quick access to Target and TPC restaurants via back road, however this what you are paying for as the appearance from the outside is not great and not worth cost IMO.Overall, I am lucky to say that picking a unit without touring or seeing it, as I was coming from another state was not horrid. I am however happy to have found another place now, and can say this place is just Ok. Nothing more nothing less, it shows as lots of people have moved out and their are a lot of vacant units.PROS:Great SchoolsGood Location to stores and resturantsInside of Apartment is well kept, but be sure to check details as they rushed to get ready for move in.Price was fair in 2017CONS:Dirty BreezewaysTrash EverywhereDog Poop. (ugh!)Pool breaks often281 Highway trafficCost seems to be higher than other similar properties
Please stay away from this community. New management and staff are awful. They lie. This new management doesnt care and doesnt do maintenance on time.
I cant stress enough how bad parking is. Theres so many dead cars and trailers taking up parking spots that you have to come home at 6-7pm just to get a parking spot close to your building. Twice I have gotten a call about neighbors complaining about my dogs being off a leash to play but I dont see them applying the same rules to others. Same thing goes for picking up dog poop. The apartment is soo beautiful. I loved the floors and the floor plan I moved into. But after living there for a couple months, I wasnt too happy about my choice. If youre going to spend this much money renting an apartment, just move into a house.
Management is awesome! They truly care about their residents and will go above and beyond for them.
Do not move here. The walls are paper thin. We constantly heard people in the stairwell talking and it literally sounded like they were in our apartment. The common areas/breezeways are filthy. They were not cleaned one time in the whole year we lived there. Dog poop is all over the grass, not a good place for kids to play. Our worst experience was upon move out when the new management, Graystar did not help us facilitate move out, and worse, charged us for a microwave that management removed from the apartment before we ever even moved in. We werent even afforded an appropriate opportunity to contest the charges or to prove that the microwave was never in the unit. Management did not take time or consideration of the tenant. Maitenance staff was friendly and reliable, that was the only plus of this place.
Under the new management Internacional the staff and service is damn poor! avoid at any cost!
Dont waste your time with this complex. I recently applied to move In here. They held my application in limbo for 3 weeks knowing I was moving across the country. When you can finally get through on the phone they are rude, wont return calls and have the worst customer service I have dealt with in a long time. Angela Lee
Moved in last year and the staff was horrible. Im seeing much improvement but things are a bit odd. They thought it would be a good idea to Paint all the buildings various colors. And theyre still all various shades of Blue, Pink, Brown, Green etc.... The Building beside the apartments was working on construction and blocking all the parking places. Cars where trying to find alternative parter (along side the kerb and in empty spots) But they gave everyone tickets.... I was not one of those people but i could see how that would be annoying. I Feel like they are trying to make things better but its taking them way too long!!!! Over alll... i wouldent recommend it. Its unfortunate the new staff got wrapped into this.
I read about a shooting and very high crime in an otherwise GOOD area. SAD!
Worst place to ever live. Always dirty and bad managment
I cant remember.
Friendly and professional
