The apartments are very clean and beautiful inside and outside they are comfortable to live in by yourself or with your family. Quiet and friendly neighbors. All staff is understanding and respectful. I love it here and I appreciate the maintenance keeping up the property in a good way

Im a former resident here, when I moved out they tried to charge us $300 for cleaning services and different repairs ON TOP of our security deposit.We provided photos of the apartment proving that we left the place spotless and asked for receipts of the repairs and cleaning done. They had doctored the amounts on all receipts and none of the numbers added up to the amount they were asking.They dropped most of the charges but they refused to give our security deposit back.I called today because a package was mistakenly sent there for me by someone and they put me on hold while they looked. Then answered for less than a second and out me back on hold 4 times. Then they hung up on me without answering.I called them back and they answered. They claimed they were trying to transfer me to a manager and accidentally but told me I didnt have any packages there. (Not sure why theyd be transferring me to tell me that)Dont rent here if you value your security deposit.

Ive been very pleased with both the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the property. I recently relocated to the area for a new position with my company. The staff, and especially Amber, were very helpful in setting up a workable lease term while my family looked for a house during the transition.The amenities on the property are very nice (gym, pool, and business center). They are as good, if not better than corporate apartments I looked at in the area. The location is great! It is very convenient to the local grocery, movies, big box stores, and tons of restaurants. Its made transitioning to a new city/state very easy. It also has easy access to a major interstate, which shortened my commute.The apartment was in excellent condition when I arrived. It is quiet, and well maintained. The best part is the view of the downtown skyline. Overall, I would highly recommend The Estates of Northwoods.

All the reviews here about Estates of Northwoods trying to scam you out of your deposit are very true. I moved out and gave them more than the required 60 day notice, gave the place a thorough cleaning, and they still tried to charge me over $150 *in addition to all the rent and deposit* which I already paid. Additionally, they outsource all their collection to some third party number that just goes straight to voicemail during normal business hours. So shady.If they dont waive charges by end of week, I will be filing a business complaint with the Texas Attorneys General office as well as the Better Business Bureau.They claimed the following charges:- Vacating early charge even though I gave more than the required 60 day notice and paid full rent through the end of the lease- $20 for blinds even though the blinds were totally fine- $100+ for cleaning even though we spent many hours cleaning the place, including oven and appliances. We did a photo walkthrough of the whole place to prove this- Large paint charge, even though most apartment buildings will just refresh the paint between tenants by default.I was a tenant here for a year and a half. In years renting in different apartment complexes, Ive never had a case where Ive not gotten at least a partial deposit refund moving out. All in all, they claimed it cost them over $400 to make the place habitable for the next tenant and ate through way more than my entire deposit. Ive never seen such an absurd claim of move out charges having lived at more than 5 different complexes.Additionally, we repeatedly had problems with a leaky roof. They sent in someone to fix it probably 4 times during the lease term and it kept coming back during various storms.Do not live here if you value your time or money. There are plenty of other options for apartment living in San Antonio.

I normally do not write reviews for anything unless my experience was really great or really bad. In this case, it was really bad. Bottom line: DO NOT LIVE HERE IF YOU HAVE OTHER OPTIONS. The management here is awful, and deceptive. When I moved out, the day before handing in my keys, they tried to convince me that I signed for a date one month later than my original date, WRITING OVER my previous date on a legal document that I had already signed in an attempt to get me to pay another month... Extremely deceptive. Additionally, I put in a work order for my air conditioning at one point that it was 95+ degrees in my apartment, and I had to pester them in order for it to get done, since my apartment was unlivable at that time. It took 2 weeks from when I put it in and it wasn’t actually done until I went into the office and said it was an emergency. I’m 100% convinced it never would have been done had I not continued to pester them cause they had no intention of helping me with it. They kept telling me that the “technician will be coming today”, when I’m reality that was just to get me to leave the office and leave them alone cause they don’t want to do their jobs.Overall my experience with this place was the worst I’ve ever experienced (and I’m constantly moving around at different apartments) and I hope that this review loses them potential business because there are plenty of other options in the area.

My son lives here and it is a wonderful apartment community. The staff is very friendly and the apartment is really nice.

Great place! My wife and our 3 kids have lived here for almost a year and plan to renew. The inside of the apartment is very nice and the staff is pretty nice too. we love the pool and all the amenities! If your looking for a nice place with a great location to everything, this is the place for you!

We have not had any negative issues at all in the 7 months weve been here. We are a young 24 y/o couple and this area of SA is perfect for the outgoing beer snob, occasional wine sipper, or shopaholic. We are just minutes from every establishment that you need. Shopping, nightlife, gyms, food, and car care....all so close! We may have to move due to work proximity but we are seriously considering sacrificing the drive for another year because we enjoy it so much.

Hands down the worst complex and property management I have experienced in my ten years of living in apartments. While living there it is decent.. respectable maintenance staff. However the people in the office, especially the one lady in charge, will be the most unintelligent and/or unfriendly bunch of humans you’ve come across in a long time. Really what pushes it all over the edge is how they strong arm you when you leave. I swear it doesn’t matter if you lived alone, with no pets or visitors, in their unit for 6 months - they WILL send you a bill of $300/$400 (minimum!) with no reason as to what you could have possibly damaged. And when you try to inquire they will respond with “we have pictures” (whatever that means) and “if you don’t pay this we will send it to the credit bureau”. I even moved to another unit in the same complex and they did the same thing. DO NOT LIVE HERE. LISTEN TO ME AND EVERY OTHER NEGATIVE REVIEW. A past employee of this complex actually left because they claimed they were doing shady things like that to just get as much money out of you as humanly possible. Not sure if that’s true but it sure did seem like it in every situation I had with The Estates! Stay away! STAY VERY FAR AWAY! They’re a bunch of crooked crooks!

I would like to remain unnamed for now, as I still live at the estates and do not want any more problems.I have lived at the Estates of Northwoods for almost 1year now. It is a beautiful property, nice units. In the beginning, management and maintenance were...... just not really with it. Not bad, but not very good. Most of the ladies at the office were nice, if not simply flat. Everything has steadily gotten worse the past year. Maintenance is IMPOSSIBLE to schedule a time. EVERY time i speak with the office, it is not only someone different, but entirely different answers!! They (most) just do not care about working to help you figure out a doable solution in any regards. This is not a bashing post, I truly hope that these issues will be resolved. This is a great place to live but THINK TWICE before moving in if these issues are not fixed.@TheEstatesofNorthwoods Please address these matters promptly and in a professional manner. Do not let poor service and the disrespect of residents time, ruin such a great community!

Worst management experience. Extremely arrogant, will not listen to renters issues. Had complained about A/C leaking in the bathroom. This created mold and notified management multiple times. Maintenance team is helpful and wanted to help, but manager would not let them help us. Manager declined to repair and made us pay for the repairs.We ended up paying for all of the work, defeats the purpose of living in an apartment when you have to pay for what needs to be covered by the apartment maintenance. DONT SIGNUP/RENT HERE if you like your money and peace. There are many other options including newer apartment complex very close by.

While the exterior and the office was nice, I have a massive problem. The apartment complex we toured was beautiful, it had no visible problembs except for a bit of dust. There was only one problem. We toured a great apartment, payed and made a lease. And then we got into our apartment about a few days later, IT WAS NOT THE ONE WE TOURED. Sure it had the same LAYOUT but it was FILTHY! There were dead cockroaches in every room, there were marks on the walls and the dust was practically suffocating. We were screwed.

Great location. Lived there for 6 months, and loved it! although 3rd floor wasnt ideal me and my wife got what we could. We were thinking about possibly releasing since it was so convenient for both us, since it was close to our jobs. But when we ended up not getting a Deposit, and Actually owing $260.00 on top of that! Living there six months and owing on top of the deposit was a joke! We still had things in boxed since we had moved in, and both constantly worked. We barley saw each other, let alone the apartment. My wife and I would love to move back, But so discouraged on knowing were going to end up paying more that a simple Deposit.

Staff is incredibly Rude here. Almost 3 years and have nothing good to say about theses guys I hope these people get put out of business. Nickel and dime trash apartments OVERPRICED. I had a huge hole in my wall for over 7 months that they put there after the apparent above us flooded. Roaches everywhere pool is nasty and the gym equipment is old and rusted.

I’ve lived here in 3 different apartments for 3 1/2 years and they have always charged me $300-500 worth of damage every time I moved out and I’m a clean person. I do like the facility but just warning you that they will get over on you and charge you for false damages and charge you for a so called ‘professional cleaning charge’ and ‘professional carpet cleaning’ fees when you move out. Be prepared! Plus some of the staff is horrible!!!

Theyll screw you over after you move. I lived here for almost a year and moved because of military orders. A YEAR after we had already left, they sent us a bill, for damages. I have never ever lost my deposit, anywhere I have lived. These apartments were trash. When I moved in, someone had resealed the countertops and left a literal buttprint and t-shirt print in the seal. You could see their entire print of their shirt and butt. ON TWO COUNTER TOPS. And now the complex is trying to charge me for it. When we received said bill (2015), we reached out and requested proof of the damages (they want $500 for them). We were told the damage claim would be removed and that they didnt have any proof of the damages they were claiming. This was in 2015. Here it is, half way through 2019, and I get a notice today that these scumbag theives have sent my balance to collections. We will be taking them to court over this. Dont rent here. The staff was always rude, the apartments themselves were scummy. We had to have tow trucks come out for people parking where they werent supposed to. It was a horrible horrible living situation and now its really biting me in the butt. I would never ever recommend this complex.

The blinds in the bedroom is broken first i moved in, i told the management it needs to be fixed, i called them like every other day. Its been 2 weeks today, and the say they gonna give me updates on when they gonna fix it.. no promises...( this is a luxury apt..) I wanna break the lease, they say I’ll be responsible for the rest of the months, I signed 12 months lease, FML...

I do not live here, but I visit friends and family often. Very beautiful complex and I havent heard complaints from tenants. Some apartments have attached garages and some have garage units across the street. Plenty of parking for residents and visitors. I cannot attest to how good it is to live here personally, but it appears to be well-maintained and well-managed.

Horrible management. With the exception of a couple leasing agents. I really enjoyed most of my 6 month stay here. But upon finishing my lease and leaving my unit in very good condition, They kept all of my deposit and still claim that I should owe them more in damages. I heard this same thing from residents who had left while I was living there as well as a leasing agent that I befriended, who left this property for what she claims as shady business practices Theyve turned security deposits into a way to increase theyre revenue and bonuses.

The location is awsome. Staff and maintenance are great. Just let them know what you need and they get it fixed.

If I could give a zero star review I would. Please save yourself the hassle and money and rent elsewhere. Moving in the the easiest thing. They made the process as smooth as possible for us. But once youre in, brace yourself. We were constantly told false information from the rude employees at the leasing office. I literally cant recall a single time we asked them a question and we got the right answer the first time. The gates (including the walk in gates) are constantly broken. They take their time to fix them. The apartment above us sprung a leak one day and it drained into our apartment and the apartment below us. They came right away to create big holes in our walls but didnt fix them for a week and that was after them telling us that they didnt have an ETA on when they would be fixed. Other then that incident, maintenance was ok. Its the Manager and leasing agents that are the nightmares. They are so rude to tenants, constantly have attitudes. And forget EVER seeing any of your deposits when you move out. I highly suggest taking photos when you move in. We owed when we moved out which obviously mad us upset since we left the apartment cleaner then when we occupied it. They charged us a sheetrock fee which is ridiculous because they obviously didnt fix sheetrock before we moved in because we could see where they put filling and just painted over. We have a awesome carpet cleaner and scrubbed the apartment from ceiling to floor and still got charged a cleaning fee and carpet cleaning fee. This place is an absolute joke. Please look elsewhere! Save yourself the headache.

Apartment was nice enough. Our apartment was nice enough but it flooded 3 times! The first time was SEWER WATER. The night time maintenance is a joke and doesnt care. I was pregnant and was living in bad conditions. To add insult to injury... They are CHARGING us for the flooding damage! What about OUR stuff that got damaged on top of living in water as well as poop water covering our entire apartment!! So sad. Dont live there.

On top of removing open spaces and now making them reserved (parking is horrible already) now that their roofers are done, me and my next door neighbor both picked up nails in our tires. This place gets better and better.

Weve been here almost 5 years. Always clean, nice fitness center. Good for familys, mostly kids at the pool. Convienent online rent payment, but its considered late on the 3rd and will get a late fee. Parking is NON EXISITENT!!! Unless you pay for a covered spot or garage. Maintence staff is amazing!! Friendly, quick and sufficient.

The management staff here is awful, lazy, ignorant and rude. I have had to call them for a week or more to try to find out how much my rent is, because they would try to overcharge me. The gate is always broken. There is no parking because parking permits are not enforced. There are auto burglaries all the time. The parking lot is really dark at night. They dont have a security guard. A while ago there was a carjacking in the parking lot in broad daylight. Be warned.

When my wife and I moved out of The Estates at Northwoods over four years ago, we repeatedly requested (and were assured) that we would be physically present for the final walk-through to assess the unit. Other complexes have charged us erroneously in the past so we were prepared for the walk though with a spotless apartment and were armed with our pre-move in damage assessment. For three weeks after moving out, we called the complex to ask when we should come in. They informed us that they have not assessed the unit and will call us when they do. On the last day we called and were told the same thing, we were lied to, since we had already received the $350 charge in the mail.Even with our persistence, the walkthrough was performed without us and we were given a list of charges that claimed false damages and clean-up charges. When we confronted the complex, they once again lied, saying they attempted to reach us unsuccessfully. They could not provide proof of the claims, they even charged us $50 to remove an orchid I left on the mantel!!Please listen to all the bad reviews... the nice location is not worth it. They are a bunch of theives

We moved in this place 4 years ago. Was not a bad place maintenance was bad and when i moved in lots of things were wrong but it was temporary and i was willing to deal with it. In the past I have had realtors try to dry me out and take all of my deposit so i took pictures at this place before moving. Pointing out all that was wrong. Then when moving out they charged me anything they can think of and to make matters worse they tried to charge me for what I reported when we first moved in. I even had picture worked with the manager and then she stated that all was resolved and what was a 1500 bill went down to only charging me to shampoo my carpet. WELL 4 years later I get a letter from the credit agency telling me that I have a balance that I owe them. 4 years later same house, same number, same email and not once did i hear from them. None of my contact info changed. It is disappointing that these type of placed take advantage of taking all the money they can out of honest working individuals who truly tried their best to follow all their rules.

Im only giving it two stars because of its location and the actual structures and amenities.Now, why do I not like this complex and strongly recommend that you NOT live here? First, is the office staff. They oscillate between being totally incompetent and being shockingly rude. They act like they are allowing you to live at their facilities for free as a favor. Like youre not paying a lot of money for your apartment.Bottom line: Do not move here unless this is your last option AND you have a plan to go somewhere else very soon.

The bad thing about this place its the management, they are awful and rude. Seriously, they make everything so difficult. So because of them I wouldnt recommend this apartment complex.
