Worst place I have ever lived! The basement apartments are barely livable at best. The internet is downright horrible. There is no ethernet connections at all. Every other apartment I lived at had them. Right when I moved in the water heater wasnt even operational at all, and one of the rooms wasnt even finished. I wouldnt ever recommend this place to anyone at all.

Mold, rust, crumbling cement... if you are looking for a budget place and have no standards, I guess this is what you want. The pool is nice, but the hot tub is swampy and grimy. The fire pit and barbecue are also nice. Management is unhelpful at best and downright evasive at worst. Internet service is fine. Apartments are painted cement boxes with poorly sealed windows that allow moisture in. This has lead to mold and water damage to my property. It has also caused me asthma attacks. Appliances are old and breaking down. Living here is fine if you dont have any respiratory issues and you have had your tetanus shot.

A very nice place to live with a nice courtyard, nice layout, and generally nice people. However white glove is primitive when compared to other apartments white glove, the laundry system is wack with a stubborn system used and only a few dryers working properly. I experimented with this, they dont work well. Other than the occasional frustrations not present at other apartments, I really like alpine chalet.

Not a very good place to live, if you are going to live here definitely dont live in the basement (apt 1-7) you have no natural light, bad phone reception, and terrible wifi. Beds are creeky and uncomfortable and water pressure is pretty bad, I dont like that you have to pay to use the washer and driers and the dryers are absolutely terrible, you can run your clothes through the dryer and still have them me sopping wet do you have to pay for the dryers multiple times to get your clothes dry. The amenities are good, the staff is nice, but it is much more worth it to just spend a couple hundred more to get a nicer place.

Alpine is a mixed bag. A lot of the Cabinets and Furniture really needs to be refurbished, some of the stuff that has been refurbished like the beds desks and sofas arent very good, and they keep raising the prices. On the other hand the gyms pretty nice, I enjoy the courtyard, the ward that it happens to be in is great and Ive met some good friends here. Most of what Ive enjoyed you could find in most other apartments but Its also the cheapest apartment thats closer to my classes. bottom line I like it.... I think?

Really disappointed with the changes that theyre making and the way that theyve handled current events. Unless things change, dont live here.

I had absolutely no problems the first semester I lived here, but they all started before I could even check in my second semester. I had been charged a $50 late fee becuase of a clerical error on their side, and refused to fix it. A few weeks later, I got a boot on my car for no reason. They did help me get it taken off, with some effort and a fair amount of time. Basically the only redeeming quality of this place is the close location to campus

The management will walk into your apartment whenever they want and do a clean check that they did not advice anyone about. On top of that if you do work for them like helping with clean checks they forget to pay you. Do not live here!!!! Especially if you dont like random people walking in your apartment in your personal area whenever they like.

I wouldnt recommend anyone to live at alpine chalet! The first two semesters were great but with a change in ownership and management the place went from being my home to a place I didnt feel comfortable staying. They are disorganized with their work and they will lie and cheat you of money to cover their own mistakes. I repeatedly asked the proper manager several times if I had a contract for spring and was told no then 2 weeks before the cancelation date for spring semester was coming was notified I had a contract and was forced to pay 75$ to cancel it last minute. I was four times I didnt have a contract. I also was given the wrong parking pass for the complex and instead was given an overflow pass, after being their straight 5 semester in a row. I was unaware of this fact until I was given a boot. When approached about the issue the complex took no share of the blame despite having signed a parking contract before multiple individuals who received housing passes instead of overflow. They are extremely hard to work with and can be quite frankly rude if you accuse them of taking advantage of you. Also if you look at the ratings that occurred recently before mine are the ones they posted from resident reviews not allowing those who rate them lower in.

A decidedly okay place to live. Managers are friendly and occasionally give us free food. They have some nice amenities (as the website will eagerly inform you) but the apartments themselves are subpar at best. Most of them were recently remodeled (read: repainted) so theyre better than before, but its still an old and cheaply built building. I like the courtyard and enjoy the apples.

Kind of a mixed bag...*My honest 3.667 stars rounds to 4*(2 semesters from 2016)The Good:Amenities are nice, mostly:-I am now ridiculously good at foosball.-I used the grill in courtyard.-I made great lifelong friends.-Firepit area was a great gathering space.-Indoor swimming pool is great - truly an unheard-of amenity.-Weight room is there, but small. But the Hart building is 2 blocks away...Rooms are exactly adequate size.-Nice indoor party/FHE/movie/Gathering area.-The ward is amazing. Expect down-to-earth people. Supper fun community, and easy to get to know others. Not a huge complex. No joke, 2 marriages came out of my fhe group.-Proximity to east side of campus is great, for some majors.-3 students/fridge (a must, some places are 4 or even 6/fridge)-Does have free laundry on site... but not perfect-Cost isnt too badThe Bad:-It is Rexburg Housing company (they manage many budget housing complexes). They arent the best at reinvesting into properties, expect outdated units. Walls are painted cinderblock. Some basement units are remodeled, but because they flooded a few years ago. Some basement level tenants do have to walk through puddles in outdoor hallway during wet season.-Managers can change, I had one I loved and one I did not. Read on.-Indoor pool, is a great size & clean. I loved to pop in my underwater earbuds and swim every morning for exercise. Suddenly, the new manager started forbidding swimming before she rolls out of bed and takes cover off. I used to handle the pool cover myself, but I am not allowed to do that now?!?!? Expect arbitrary pool access hours.-Cleanchecks are something you deal with at all student housing, but here... you can only get decades-old units to look so clean. For example, the shower plastic is yellowing from age, yet I am expected to make it white through cleaning. Not possible. I know how to clean (2 years experience in sanitation).-Checkout troubles with Manager... 3 of my roommates were taking off for home right after finals. They left everything clean, great guys. Tenants are required to turn in keys at semesters end. The office hours did not accommodate them, so they left their keys with me. I went to turn in their keys, and I was told that (because they were not returning them in person) they would each pay a fee ($50 i believe). I was livid. Not my money, but still. Manager believes it is in contract (and It may have been, but yikes). $50 each on a technicality... I may have said some unchristlike things and stormed out... and eventually Managers boss set her straight... my roommates were not fined in the end... but this should not have been necessary.-Old manager did take care of hot tub, It was clean. New manager does not, it looks like shreks swamp. Seriously, it is green now. Again, this is just the hot tub. The pool is always clean.-Landry is free, but with limits. You are given a scan card loaded with (i think) 30 washes and 30 drys. In a 14 week semester, I never worried about the washes, but sometimes their weak dryers take a few runs to actually dry. Yikes.-There are 10 washers and 10 dryers (minus any that need maintenance), and you can imagine there are peak times when you cant get a machine. Not really enough machines.-And the budget price... is nice, but not impressive. All kinds of budget units can be had elsewhere for less than $1000/semester. If you are looking to spend just a little more, some upscale apartments have discounts you can stack. I got a multi-semester & group sign up rate at Mountain Lofts (now the lodge) for $1100 with parking. The granite countertops and new, spacious units were awesome, but the culture at ML wasnt my thing. I did miss the alpine ward. I have friends that scored northpoint for about 1100. Truth be told, developers have over-built. More beds than students. Deals can be found. All in all, Alpine does stand out somewhat among budget housing options. Great people living there. I would recommend it - but do know its shortcomings. Things may have changed, my experience is from 2016.

I spent two semesters in a row at Alpine Chalet. While I highly do NOT recommend this place, Ive made an unbiased pros and cons list below for you to make the choice for yourself:Pros:-The ward is greatCons:-No temperature control and apartments stay around 55-65 degrees during the fall/winter semesters-Cinder-block walls that are ice cold fall/winter semester-Unreliable internet that cuts out at a minimum of once every hour, with high ping spikes throughout the day-Slow, if any, responses to emails or questions-Comparatively overpriced when factoring in living conditions, amenities, and size of the rooms-Loud music well past midnight, consistently, showing that there is little to no action against those keeping everyone in that area awake-Tiny bathrooms, low water pressure, and everything feels cheap-The staff has nervous energy when youre talking to themFor my biased opinion, I felt like I was living at a halfway house my entire time at Alpine. Take a look at other places for $700-$800, well below Alpines cost - theyre the same condition or nicer than Alpine. Alpine Chalet left me with nothing positive to say about it.

To be honest, I was sort of pressured to move to Alpine by my friends. BUT I LOVE IT so far. Ive lived here for 8 weeks and the management is super nice, Ive been incredibly impressed with how fast maintenance has gotten our requests finished, and I absolutely love the people here.Let me also mention, that I moved from The Ivy - which I also loved. Lets be real, the Ivy is more luxurious, but its not necessary. My advice: dont get tantalized with the luxury of the fancy new apartment complexes when something cozy, friendly, and affordable like Alpine Chalet is just two blocks away from campus.

I have lived at Alpine Chalet for 6+ semesters now, and it started out as a very nice place to live. Management was nice and always good at working with me in finding solutions to my financial needs.Gradually they have become more interested in charging me more and more fees for things that never had fees in the past. They will tell you that they are willing to work with you and try their best to help you in any way, but that is just for you to sign the contract. This semester I was signing up for a housing contract for Winter Semester 2020 and asked when I needed to pay in full, I was told Jan 5th unless I was paying with financial aid, in that case they wold work with me. January come around and I have not gotten my aid yet, and therefore cannot pay on time. I am transferred the financial aid the next day, and pay the full amount up front. Yet they still fined me the $50 late charge for paying late.Rexburg Housing might be a good choice for one semester, but it is not a place you should stay if you want to avoid additional charges.

I moved here 2 weeks ago. And I signed the contract before I moved in. I was not told before that I had to pay the rent 1 month and one week before. I have lived in 6 other accommodations around here and nobody does asks you to pay months before you move in . After I signed the contract I got an email, I had to pay the rent, on Dec 1st ( which was one month and a week before I was supposed to move in ) Otherwise I would get a fine. Paying a month in advance is ILEGAL . And I called them and I said why do you do that, this is not right? The lady from main office said, thats what we do. Because we do not do background checks. I said, I can pay 3 days before. She said you have to pay now ( one month and one week before) or you get fine for late payment. Another thing the payment did not go through the first time, and they told me to call the bank. I called the bank, and my account and the bank was fine, it is the problem from their side ( the bank said). The main office said, you still have to pay $ 25, because the payment did not go through. I said, I should pay for something that is not my problem, but with something wrong with your side. They yes, you still have to pay. Condition are average, but they like the money very much.

Alpine Chalet is a good place to live. I like the atmosphere of the place and all the cool things like the pool, hot tub, and clubhouse. Nice layout, pretty courtyard, and the rooms are just the perfect size. The only downside that keeps getting me is that the laundry area has given me a lot of problems. There are only a few washers and driers compared to the number of residents, which can lead to a lot of competition for machines. There are all kinds of hidden fees and they take half of your security deposit. if you try to sell your contract there is a 100 dollar fee and they make you do all the paperwork. the manager is nice but rexburg housing is unwilling to ever work with peopel

I had the toughest time living at these apartments. When I arrived we were missing a second fridge and the oven didnt work. The oven was fixed but we never received the second fridge. When I tried to sell my contract for the next semester I was given absolutely no help from the manager who claimed to have her hands tied by Rexburg Housing policies. This means that I could have been in a situation where I was paying for an apartment I didnt live in! Checking out was miserable and felt more like an eviction. I stayed a little later to help clean and all I got in return was a bunch of complaints about how we didnt clean enough. My experience here was terrible. Until Rexburg Housing starts to reconfigure their policies to help their tenants instead of trying to nickel-and-dime them every chance they get I cant encourage anyone to live here or anywhere else in the Rexburg Housing organization.

Alpine Chalet is a solid apartment complex for students at BYU Idaho. I love it here mainly because of my awesome roommates. I have always been helped in a kind helpful way. The pool and hot tub here are so much better than at Rockland. Rocklands pool is gross. They have a small gym that is really useful if you dont want to go to campus to work out. The other apartments that I have lived at is Nauvoo House Apts. Nauvoo was really nice but it was so small. Alpine Apartments are so much bigger. I feel like I can breath. Nauvoo was so crowded. It is a good place to stay for the money that you pay.
