Illegal actions and unethical practices is normal for them.... lieing to your face is not below them.... they will do anything and everything that can for you....to get charged extra....they will ignore you as best as they can....
I lived at both Birch Plaza and Somerset. I felt like there was very little consideration for me as a tenant. The price was high for the quality of apartment provided. There are much better options elsewhere. Rather than consider the needs of the students during the pandemic, the Rexburg Housing company opened its maw and greedily sucked as much money as it could from those who lived there. This seems to happen more and more lately, where those actually tasked with managing and caring for the apartments are not given the resources to do so. The apartments all look run down, as though they havent been renovated in years. Whitewashing the apartment is not a good look... The amenities they advertise are not nearly as impressive as they sound. The smart TVs thst they have are constantly breaking, and the fix time for that is too long. The free laundry runs out quickly, and since the dryers dont always dry a load of wash in one go, you are paying out of pocket for the rest of the semester. I think there are several better options out there than anything owned by Rexburg housing.
I really enjoy living here! The management is always pretty nice and willing to listen. They are pretty quick to answer my questions or concerns as well. The maintenance is on top of things! There was one time when our microwave died and we needed a new one. Our maintenance guy was very friendly and let us know when we should be expecting it. I have had a good experience here!
I live at Somerset at the moment and it isn’t that bad. Sure, the apartments aren’t the best in the world, but it still feels homey. So far I like loving here, there’s a great welcoming community here too.
I stay at Birch Plaza and love it! Ward is great, apartments are big, and it’s right next to campus. Maintenance use to be kinda rough, but has gotten better. Very glad I picked Birch!
Rexburg Housing is an annoying corporate conglomerate that owns a bunch of properties in Rexburg. They really dont have any care or consideration for their tenants. I would avoid any of their properties if you can.For what its worth though, the managers they hire though are super chill.
I lived at Somerset and currently Birch Plaza! They are both pretty nice, and have great wards. Management is nice and they stick to what your contract states, which is great business. Great amenities and friendly managers!
I used to love renting with Rexburg Housing -- I lived at Somerset for four semesters in a row and have even referred several people in the past. The proximity to campus is awesome and the people there are great. They even often host events and for the tenants. Everything else is a facade. The reality is they offer poor quality apartments that more often than not have several inconvenient defects that they either neglect or delay to fix. At Somerset (which was renovated less than five years ago) these problems have added up and left the property in a less than decent condition (plumbing problems, some electrical issues, and broken drawers, bathroom fans, and shelves to name a few). Many apartments have mold in them. The advertised laundry included has a cap. The parking lot has too many stalls for its size, leading to scrapes and damages to cars. Now, during the worldwide pandemic, I cannot return to Rexburg and they refuse to cancel contracts without forcing us to pay, going against what is stated in their own contracts. They are unwilling to work out an agreement and do not reply directly to emails or calls, despite several attempts. I do not recommend this company or any of its properties.
All of the apartments around here are well priced with what you get out of it. Each has its own amenities, and they are very useful. My complex, Rockland, has a swimming area, as well as a laundry room and a weight room. I havent been able to use them as much as I would like with Covid, but all around a great place for a first apartment.
I have loved living at Birch Plaza Rexburg Housing, and working for them as well! The staff is so friendly, the environment is great, and the apartments are great for the price!
I like living at Autumn Winds because I have my own room. I value the privacy and friendly environment.
I love rexburg housing! I’ve been at Rockland for 6 semesters now and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon!
Our youngest daughter will be staying in Birch this fall. I have been very impressed by the relevant and timely communication from the manager! She has responded to our questions within minutes.
They only care about money and refuse to refund peoples money and let them free of their contracts. I lost my job and had to move home to support my family. I didn’t even live in my apartment the full semester and they charged me for it. They’re also charging people over half their rent to cancel spring contracts. They are criminal. There are people dying and these people do not care. They think it would be my best interest to live with 5 other strangers during this worldwide catastrophe. I implore anyone affected by their greed to speak out in any possibility they can. This will not stand.
I lived at their Birch Plaza complex for 3 semesters and for the most part enjoyed my time. However, I do not recommend living in any complex under Redstone Residential (Rexburg Housing). The on-site managers do what they can but the communication between the managers and the overall management is flawed. The management does not work to be fair and work in good faith with their tenants. They will charge you for every little thing, even if the problem was on their end. Redstone lost a previously happy tenant due to their conduct. Other housing companies have proven themselves to be working in the overall interests of their tenants and deserve to have my money and recommendations in the future.
Rockland is one of the best apartment complexes I have stayed at. It’s super close to campus and the people here are amazing. Joey is the man and will make sure you feel right at home!
This is my first semester at Autumn Winds. There’s a parking spot for every attendant. This is nice because I know there will always be a place for me to park in the parking lot. The apartment is nice. It is a convenient distance from campus. Each room in the apartment has its own thermostat. This includes bedrooms which I find to be great as I can set the temperature in my room to however hot or cold I would like it to be to best comfort me. The manager is very kind, and really good at answering questions. After talking with her I found out that there is access to a pool, hot tub, tanning booth, and work out room. All I had to do was ask for a key and return it as soon as possible. This is a lovely place to live while studying as I will be residing here next Semester.
Somerset:The managers have always been respectful and helpful. They are concerned with the grounds being kept well and are improving the apartments and starting renovations soon. The womens side looks great.I have lived on both sides of campus, and I noticed a great difference in this side of campus; the people are much more warm and kind. Aside from it being a great location, it has the right people, and that is important to me. I plan on returning from my off-track for my fourth semester here at Somerset. There is a lot I can say about this complex, but the most helpful comment that I can give to potential residents about Somerset is that it feels like a home for me. I doubt that it will be any different for you.One thing that I would love to be improved is the dishwashers. They seem to leave a lot of the cups unrinsed.I view price of contracts as my most important decision in choosing my housing. I would prefer not to have any renovations done to Somerset because I like it just fine this way, and renovations typically mean higher prices. From what I have experienced so far, though, Somerset has been my favorite housing complex.
The location of this complex is fantastic! It only takes a couple minutes to get onto campus. The managers are approachable and willing to work with you. The maintenance crew is great and respond quickly to requests. I love the multi-semester discounts and loyalty discounts for staying for several semesters. The apartments are old and overdue for some remodeling and appliance replacements, but they are well taken care of. The laundry rooms and lounges are nice and the property is good shape.
My experience so far has been great! great management you can tell they really care about you. The apartments are older but they are still nice. The only downside that I can see so far is that if you have noisy people living above you who like to stay up super late. But overall it is a great place with a great location to campus
I have lived at Birch plaza, within Rexburg Housing all 4 years, and i have loved it. The ward and roommates are amazing! Every semester I tell myself, Nothing can get better than these roommates. However, they are just as good, if not better. Cody, our maintenance guy is super friendly, knows what he is doing and gets your work orders done quickly.
Its a chilling place to live. Nice place to socialize. It has a beautiful grill outside that everyone can have great times all together. Ive been here almost a year now. Ill def recommend this for everyone to live in a semester. The manager is the coolest, getting along with everyone, a reliable person and a great person.
I love it here. Its well staffed, has many amenities that are well cared for, and the apartments are very comfortable
On a scale of 1-10, Id give Somerset an 11. Its the only contact Ive had with Rexburg Housing. Theres a down to earth feeling here. The apartment culture is just great. Its like a big, diverse family. Its affordable, really close to campus and has everything you need in a place to live!
I lived at Autumn Winds a few years ago, and I loved it. There is so much storage space, and Rexburg Housing lets you hang things on the walls with small nails. Ive never lived ANYWHERE where they let you do that. I never had a problem with fees either. As long as I did my cleaning and didnt damage the property I got my deposit back. Id recommend looking into Rexburg Housing.
This is the first apartment complex Ive been in since starting college, and this is where I plan to stay! It is so great! The staff is always so cheerful and helpful. I can ask them anything, and I know that they care. The location is fantastic! The gym, music room, and lounge are awesome! It really does feel like home here. :)
I love the somerset apartment and really enjoy everything about this apartment! Management, location, cleanliness, and the feel of this apartment is amazing.Somerset is part of Rexburg Housing and I love this apartment, but finding where I go to pay was a little confusing on their website. Other than that it’s been a GREAT experience living here!
I absolutely love this place. Kylie, our manager, is legit the best. She cares about all of the people that is over. She is willing to help you with anything if it is from roommate problems to personal problems. This is a great place if you like your own room and like having tons of opportunities to meet new people. Also, you only have 3 roommates so perfect amount of people. (Autumn Winds)
Autumn Winds is awesome!! This is my first semester living here, and I have enjoyed every second of it. The manager is always willing to help, the apartments are updated and nice, and you get your own private room! I would definitely recommend living here.
I really like Rexburg Housing. It comes with everything you need. Good sized rooms, pretty chill management, and almost all the apartments are a walking distance from campus so it doesnt make getting to class difficult. Also, being a member of one apartment complex grants you access to all the apartment complexes. That means you have access to a variety of lounges, music and study rooms, pools, and weight room, even a sand volleyball court. Ive lived in rexburg housing apartment complexes for 3 years and Im happy with it.
I’ve lived at Georgetown for 4 semesters now. I think it is an amazing place to live for several reasons. It’s cheap, quiet, and the management is super. Service requests are followed up with promptly and the manager, Madi, is quick to respond to emails and has even gone above and beyond by helping a little with the end of the semester cleaning in our apartment. (I wouldn’t expect this, but it demonstrates that she is genuinely interested in helping out the residents here.)
The manager is very helpful and welcoming. There are fun apartment activities and evens. The apartments themselves are nice and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.
When moved into our apartment at Somerset we immediately noticed many problems with the recently renovated apartment. one of the biggest was the laminate in one of the bathrooms being to bubble. so much so that the door would not open easily. this was immediately brought up to the management who told us that there was nothing that they could do about it. and that they needed to contact the contractor who initially put the flooring in to come in to fix it. there was no further action taken by Rexburg Housing. it was not until 10/16 (6 weeks later!) that they actually got someone out to fix the problem. the reason they came when they did was that the bubble had spread from one bathroom to the vanity area and even the other bathroom. However I believe that real reason they finally acted was because I sent them an email saying and Im copying the exact email here, The reason I am writing you is to let you know about how it’s spreading, but also to let you know that my roommates have been tripping on, stubbing their toes, and have even cut their feet on the laminate tiles coming up. This has gone too far, and in my opinion is a breach of our contract (section 6.c. Which states “Landlord suffers, permits, or maintains any nuisance or any health or safety hazard on the premises. Landlord agrees to release Student from this Contract and cover moving costs.”) in an email today I said I would definitely say that toilet water leaking into our floors for so long, for upwards of 6-8 weeks, that the whole bathroom bubbled up. And then having roommates cutting their feet on laminate that has literally been soaking in stagnant, toilet water. This is not a residence free of health or safety hazards. with the whole repair process we were left without a bathroom, a toilet, or a shower to use for days. and we asked for a partial refund of rent because they forced us to endure this repair. to which they responded that none of it was their fault, even though they were the ones, in our opinion that violated our contract. so if you want to live somewhere where they wont fix anything unless you are about to get tetanus and have to bother them to no end to get anything done, look no further! seriously choose to live somewhere else!
I live at Birch Plaza. The students are great. The managers are very easygoing and are willing to work with you. The apartments are nice. It is close to campus. I have nothing but great things to say about this apartment complex and the managers. The ward is awesome.
I lived with Rexburg Housing for my WHOLE college education! They took such great care of me! If anything went wrong, their maintenance team was on top of it! Things were fixed quickly and permanently. I know other friends not living with RH would complain their stove would be broken for weeks! Rexburg Housing also always threw the best parties! My roommates and I always loved the free food and fun! AND with Rexburg Housing you get FREE HAIRCUTS!!! I mean, come on! Rexburg Housing is awesome! And they care about their residents!
Alpine Chalet may not be the fanciest, but it is very homely. It has everything you need at a fair price and good location. Management is great and very responsive. I have lived at AC my entire time at BYU-I. Its always great to come home and see the fire burning in the middle of the courtyard, very welcoming. The people living there are always very friendly.
Rexburg Housing has been great working with me and they have good deals on contracts too. Im in Georgetown and I love it here, my brothers used to live here and they as well as a friend recommended it to me. I too would recommend it. Plenty of room in the apartment, close to campus, and plenty of room to play outside.
This place is a wonderful place to live. The managers are nice, the wards are amazing, and the people who live here are wonderful people to be around. I love it! The price is great for what you get, and it has great placement.
I have lived here at somerset for almost 5 semester and so far it is one of the best apartment complexes on campus. To me, it is a representation of what a home is because I have great roommates and it has all the amenities needed to make living here comfortable at an affordable price and great management. We have great wards and my neighbors are super friendly. I feel safe living here.
What an amazing place to live. Not only is it close to campus but also to many of the local stores and attractions. The manager here at Georgetown is amazing and works towards helping keep everything clean and working. The apartment does need a little bit of work but that does not affect anything so far as living conditions. Im already signing up for next semester and probably will be here till i finish out my degree.
Rexburg Housing is a very poor run housing company. I have lived at Somerset for the past 3 years. They have recently increased the rent after doing very poor and very cheap renovations. The renovations were done a year ago and just recently they finally finished my apartment. The floor bubble up and the paint is already pealing. The ceiling in the bathrooms are cracking and are bubbling out. We have water dripping through our ceiling fan. I am very frustrated with Rexburg Housing. They have recently put in new washing and drying machines for laundry however, you have to pay for them through an app. Rexburg Housing advertises that the amenities like these are free.
Rexburg Housing rocks. They do a lot to help all residents enjoy their stay and they provide great affordable housing. Managers are great people and are willing to help with almost anything. The apartments are older but they are still a great place to live.
Great people, love the layout with the courtyard in the middle. Not to big or expensive. Great management. Awesome pool and hot tub (women can hot tub with the men). Solid walls and ceilings. cant hear upstairs neighbors jumping around. lounge is awesome. study areas with piano room and foosball and pool.
The management is very approachable and friendly. It is not too far away from campus so it is a great location if you walk to classes. They responded quickly to our maintenance needs.
I love living at Somerset. Its right across the street from campus, its decent pricing, the social atmosphere is super welcoming, the apartments are nice, and the management is amazing. Its a fantastic place to call home.
I really try to look for the good in everything and every one, but I can honestly say that every negative thing that has been posted here is true. While they may not be charging late fees with the financial aid delays, this did not prevent them from threatening their residents with the late fees and delinquency, regardless of your payment history.THE ONLY good thing I have to say is that I enjoy my apartments layout and location.
I highly recommend staying away from Rexburg Housing. They take forever to get one request done. My roommates had previously requested, fall semester 2017, to have our shower looked at because our water was very hot. Then winter semester 2018, I had requested along with my roommates that they look into it because it still wasnt fixed. I went multiple times to talk to the manger to have her send someone to look at, she said she was ordering a part. She had no idea what part to order because nobody came to look. They will say anything to get you off their back. Then after multiple times of them writing down the request, calling them, talking to them in person, I called Rexburg Housing. They FINALLY sent someone over to look at the water heater and realized we needed a new one. This whole semester my roommates and I were being burnt by the water and had burnt marks left on our bodies every 5 seconds or so because they couldnt send someone over took look at it for a second. Along with the water heater there is also multiple other problems. We have had a broken drawer, a non working fan over the stove, a broken drawer under the oven, and not to mention the sidewalks that flood every time it rains. Instead of fixing the sidewalks they put pallets which does not help at all.
I live at Alpine Chalet for 8 semesters and loved it! They were always hosting different activities for their residents and having different specials and contests. My roommate won an I-Pad from them. They have several different amenities including a salon where you can get free haircuts as a resident. They had movie nights where they set up a projector outside and provided popcorn and cotton candy. They organized different sporting events like sand volleyball and flag football. The managers were always very respectful and kind. Their properties arent the newest in Rexburg but they are cheaper, kinder, and offer more amenities.
The only thing good about this is location and the ward. The manager is unprepared for her job. She attempted to overcharge me majorly and I had to catch it! I have emailed for weeks requesting information and there have been no responses. That’s just management. The apartments are cheaply renovated. You’ll have things falling apart, and breaking easily. The carpet was never tracked down correctly, so be careful or you’ll end up with a few scars like I have. The apartments are extremely UNSAFE to live in, it takes a simple swipe of a credit card to unlock the front doors. I lived there for 3 semesters and I complained to management, maintenance and even the main office and no action was taken to fix or even address the issue. The windows are too easy to break into as well. Most windows also do not have screens so when it’s hot outside you have to have the debate of whether to be hot or open the window and let bugs inside. Screenless windows are also unsafe. I will never recommend someone to live here unless things seriously change.
Georgetown apartments-I love living here! Its a very quiet, down-to-earth place to live, and Ive never had any problems with it. Management is extremely friendly and flexible, and the people are amazing of course.
Terrible wages for new employees, even if you have experience. I worked for their maintenance crew several years ago, and I would suggest avoiding this place. They have no qualms with putting you into an apartment that is falling apart. We did our best to finish all work orders in a timely order, but most days we were overwhelmed. Work orders for apartments in better condition always came first. In many cases, the apartment managers were terrible to work with. The maintenance manager was a good guy, but as a company, they were merely okay....That is, until I left and started seeking a new job. When I filed for unemployment benefits, I was denied because of this company. I had informed them in writing, prior to being hired, that I would be going to college in the fall. Before I left, I gave them my written 2 weeks notice. I should have kept copies of all that paperwork.Keep any paperwork you fill out with Rexburg Housing if you choose to work or live there. The legal battle you might have to fight really wouldnt be worth it for Idahos unemployment benefits, and Im sure thats why nothing has been done about this company. Youd be better off doing what I did and spend your resources looking for jobs right away rather than fight the monster that theyve become.
Although my experience with Rexburg housing hasnt been completely terrible, it hasnt been great enough for me to want to stay either. The manager hasnt been the best about working with us to make our experience here the best it can be. We had an experience at the beginning of my second semester in which he wouldnt help transfer my cousin back into my apartment. He also came to check our smoke alarms and walked in without knocking. He then continued into the back, without warning, when my roommate was changing in her room. It was very unprofessional. The apartments are nice but not as nice as I was expecting by seeing the pictures. I do agree with Ethan Call about not caring very much about us as customers. I see other apartments all over that have such fun events I would love to be a part of. It is good for the price but I think paying a little more for somewhere better will be worth it.
This is my 4th semester at Somerset. I really enjoyed my first two semesters. There was great, cooperative management, maintenance was taken care of fast and correctly the first time, the price was good and I was able to get lots of discounts. However, since those two semesters my satisfaction of Somerset has been on the decline. We have several issues with maintenance requests not being done properly the first time or taking weeks to be fulfilled. There are also some unreasonable charges, like a $11 convenience fee for paying with a card. What is convenient about that?!Once I got a car, I realized how incredibly cramped the parking lot it. There are probably several instances of people bumping others cars and not telling them. Also, my biggest issue is the fact that Somerset/Rexburg Housing doesnt seem to want to keep the loyal residents who have been living with them for several semesters. I know this because they are raising the price of my rent over $200. I have loyalty discounts because I have lived with them for so long, but come Fall 2016, those discounts arent going to apply anymore. Also, the girls apartments, which are MUCH nicer then the guys, cost $150 LESS then the guys. Does that make sense? So Im looking at paying more rent, but itll be at a different complex that actually gives me $1000 worth of service. My opinion: youll get more bang for your buck elsewhere.
This is my second semester living in Rexburg Housing, and I have loved it. There are a few rules/regulations that might be a bit silly, but I wouldnt say that they are anything that keep me from enjoying living here. The managers are great and always willing to work with you! Great location, too.
They aren’t kind. They only care about money to the point it’s disgusting. They charge you for things like signing a contract, because everyone should be punished for living there again. They cannot keep managers, and they all tell you different things anyways. An old manager did things one way, she leaves mid semester ( they don’t replace her for two and a half months, and leave the complex completely empty) then when I follow what the other manager had told me, and as I had been doing the last two semesters, charge and threaten me!They even told me they cannot be responsible for what their previous mangers said and did, which makes me wonder what the point of the manager they PAY TO TELL ME THINGS is there for. Who do I talk to because you ignore and end calls and I cannot talk to the vast amount of managers you hire. Honestly the worst. Simply the worst company I’ve ever had to interact with. Save yourself not only money but also sanity and go somewhere else!
Rexburg Housing is really awesome! You get extra features and great management. Somerset is the best apartment! You cannot beat the location and price, right next to campus!
My experience with Rexburg Housing has been great. The managers for Birchwood are really helpful and nice. When we put a maintenance order in they normally show up that day or the next day. I really like the arrangement of the apartment. The rooms are nice and big. I like the rooms because theres a lot of space for storage. I like the vanity area and the two bathrooms. I really like how many cupboards there are and how much storage space there is around the apartment. The things I would change is adding air conditioning and a bigger kitchen area.
Been living at a Rexburg Housing property for three and a half years. Managements ability to interact cordially with tenants has steadily declined, communication over summer term is virtually nonexistent, and they refuse to take responsibility for charges due to negligence on their part or provide compensation for damages done to tenant property while they are away on break (i.e. christmas break). Not renewing contract with them again.
I live in West winds and I love everything about here, free laundry, huge parking lot, 4 individual rooms with two bathrooms, it almost like a paradise. Manager is super nice too. The only set back is the internet, its not as stable as we like it (not to mention speed). But generally I think this is one of the better place to stay at.
Birch Plaza has wonderful location that just cant be beat! The ward are also pretty good! One thing that is a downfall is that it some of the things listed arent as good as they make it out to be. For example you have to go somewhere else to go to the pool, and there arent any study rooms.
I leased an apartment back in late 2018 and 2019, the quality of the apartment was nothing stellar but it was cheap and that’s what I needed. What they are doing now is terrible though. The university has switched to all online for spring semester due to the virus and told students not to come to campus, yet Rexburg housing isn’t letting students out of their contracts until they pay.
I enjoy living here. I LOVE only having 3 roommates and having a private room. That definitely helps me when it comes to studying. I like that the apartments are homey and accessed from outside. It doesnt feel like a hotel. The location from campus is perfect. I am extremely bummed that the price was raised so much due to the remodel. I dont understand why it was bumped up $200. It was already pricey at $1,345. Now its over $1,500. The added washer and dryer is real nice, as are the new floors (although theyve come up in 2 spots in our kitchen) and carpet but overall, from what Ive seen from living in it, the remodel was done in a very sloppy matter. Things are half painted. The counters burn easily and rip. The sticker is very thin. The internet disconnects quite often which is very inconvenient. Sometimes, we have to submit more than 1 work order before maintenance does anything. Theyre getting a bit better with responding. Just things like that. The charged price just doesnt match the quality. These things wouldnt matter so much if it wasnt overpriced. Im real sad Im gonna have to find another place to live after my contract is up cause I really do love it. I just simply cant afford it now :(
Yes its true these people have to deal with irresponsible, messy, degenerate college students all of the time. Yes its true that they charge fees for stuff that is arguably on the line of being questionable unnecessary. However, Ive found that if you talk to them and explain your problems and try to work with them and do your part, they are extremely agreeable and friendly. A lot of these reviews have two sides, and most of the other side is a disgruntled broke college student who didnt clean their room. 10 out of 10, would live here again.
I have lived at autumn winds for the last 3 years. I left school for a couple years and came back to live there again. I like the large living spaces and private bedrooms. Management is great and there to help with anything.
Living at Georgetown is nice, but Im not a fan of Rexburg Housing. Theyve started charging rent more than a month before the next semester even starts. They even billed me for a parking pass 2-3 months before the next semester started.
Ive lived here for over a year now and its been great the apartments are nice the people are cool, and the manager is awesome. The rent is fair and I love being here!
I enjoy living at West Winds. The complex manager does a great job at working with the students. The apartments are a decent and the private rooms are great for when you need to go to sleep but your other roommates are still up.Working directly with the main office can be a hassle at times, but the individual complex managers do a great with most issues. Im pretty sure some of the units havent been upgraded since the complexes were built. Only obvious issues regarding resident safety are handled in a decent timely manner. Any other issues, especially issues that can not be directly seen, will not be fixed.
Birch Plaza is a nice place, for its price. While living there some of the apartment appliances was not working. Went into the office and told the office manager and they got someone over that day. Some of the things appliances still have a hard time working.
Rexburg housing is probably the worst housing group in the city. Working with them is an absolute nightmare and if you absolutely must work with them only sign for one semester! I signed for two semesters at Alpine Chalet and it was a huge mistake! My apartment did not have the promised amenities (one fridge was missing and our stove was broken). When I wanted to leave the apartment next semester I had to sell the contract. I could understand that I was responsible for selling. What I couldnt understand though was why management REFUSED to help me in that process. They only said they would help me sell my contract when all open rooms had been sold. That means they were more than willing to make me pay for an apartment I wasnt using! Pathetic... These guys are real crooks. They will take every opportunity to charge you for more money. During white glove cleaning they charge you extra for details you miss or things that just arent perfect for them. I stayed after move outs to help clean and instead of a thank you I got an earful about how badly we had done, even after they had passed us off, and even with the fact that they would sap more money from us! If you love your friends, dont recommend these apartments to them. I know I sure wont!
I signed with Rexburg Housing a few years ago and I had nothing but positive experiences. Hidden fees never happened to me when I paid my rent on time, cleaned my apartment and read the contracts. My manager at Autumn Winds was really personable and kind. Would sign again 100% if I were still a student.
Prices go up often. They always find to ways to charge you a little more. Avoid it if you can.
Out of the 7 different apartments I’ve lived in around campus, living with Rexburg Housing has been by far the most frustrating experience, Birch Plaza to be specific. They have a ton of hidden fees that they dont tell you about, and then they charge you for every little detail. If you want to set up payment plans, they charge you. And they dont tell you about the utilities fee that isnt included in your payment plan. If you want to sell your contract, they say theyll help you, but what they dont tell you is that they only help you once their rooms fill up, which rarely happens. If you want to check-out early, they charge you. If you want to cancel your contract before it even starts, they charge you. Their terms are not clear and the management is not willing to work with you or help out in any circumstances, its just all about getting as much money out of you as they can. They also don’t give you a dead bolt key for “security reasons” which makes it really hard for people like me who work really late hours. If my roommates think I’m home and decide to lock the dead bolt for safety, I will get locked out for the night. Even though it’s Rexburg, I’m going to want to lock my doors at night.Management is not trained or qualified to help. They don’t know what they’re doing and they don’t know how to help, or they choose not to do anything to help. Major improvements need to happen all around the board before I’ll be ready to refer people to stay with Rexburg Housing, and from many of the people I’ve talked to about their experiences here, they seem to stand on the same ground I’m on.Overall, there are few pros and a lot of cons to living here.
Hi, I am the father of a student here, it has been 3 days and no key to her apartment yet even though she paid in full. She has been locked out twice. Management says she cant get a key till the old tenant turns one in. This is not acceptable. Be aware!
Birch Apartments (Rexburg Housing) are awesome! The girls/neighbors are all really nice. The managers are helpful and always willing to answer questions. Maintenance is my favorite...so efficient at getting things done and taken care of as soon as they are reported. I love that laundry is included as part of my rent and my favorite part is that it is SO close to BYU-I campus. I looked at A LOT of apartments before choosing Birch (I was picky). Some things I really like that I was looking for in an apartment: double sink vanity (some other apts had a sink in your bedroom...weird!!) with a lots of counter space (for all the straighteners and blow driers...were girls!!). Big size closet with lots of storage space and shelves. Big shelf around the room. 2 desks (I get my own!!) and a dresser to share. Overall it could use a few updates, but I love it, Im not leaving anytime soon.
Red Stone Residential is the worst company for students ever. Not understanding at all during the COVID-19 pandemic. This place is run by weasels.
Rexburg housing has great standard deals that are always going on, you just have to be willing to go find them. Be proactive. Somerset is the best location and deal and DEFINITELY has the best manager with Lelsy #thatflatmanager Lewis! Best place to be by far!
There may be a lot of four/five star reviews on here, but I definitely encourage you to scroll down to the ten or so in a row that are one star, hidden after the several reviews made by Rexburg Housing managers themselves (Megan Plaisted is one of the office managers over all Rexburg Housing complexes, go ahead and find her generous five-star review). The only reason I have given a star to Rexburg Housing is because it is not an option to give them a zero-star rating. The management here is awful. They charged me fees without telling me, refused valid payments, and neglected to take care of any apartment issues until I brought them to the attention of the housing and student living offices on campus. They were rude, and the apartment (Birch Plaza) was definitely NOT worth the price. Although the location is great, my apartment had a hole in our couch, blinds that a) didnt work and b) did not offer any privacy. There was a hole in my bedroom door and the knobs to the closet doors kept falling off. Additionally, the base guard of the fridge fell off the first time I opened the fridge. They refuse to give you a deadbolt key to force you to be home by curfew (which is a huge problem if you have to work graveyard shifts). They charge $50 for parking, which is so limited, you end up parking on the street most nights. I moved to the IVY for a cheaper contract price, and way better management. This place is seriously the worst apartment complex I have ever chosen to live at. Take it from me and dont waste your money. I will never choose Rexburg Housing again. (By the way, on the off chance you do end up choosing Birch/RH, just know that management legally has three days from the day you move in to fix any issues you complain about, and if they neglect to do so, you can get out of the contract. (They conveniently neglected to tell me this when I complained about all the maintenance issues)).
I love living here! The manager Kylie is awesome! I love the community here too!
I live at Autumn Winds and love it! Private rooms and sharing a bathroom with only one other person have kept me at Autumn Winds for multiple semesters! Our manager is the absolute best and she makes everyone feel at home. We also have an amazing ward. The amenities within Rexburg Housing are really nice as well. The only reason Im not giving it 5 stars is the outdated and fairly damaged apartments with no signs of upgrades in the near future. Rexburg Housing (the main office) can also be a bit of a headache when you have to deal with them directly. I normally try to go through my manager when I can.
I live at the Birches and the complex is awesome. Rexburg Housing is great place to look for apartments in Rexburg. They are great places to live, and affordable, too.
I live in Alpine Chalet and I love it here because for its prices we get more than any other apartments and we are more closed in because of our awesome courtyard so we feel safer and more at home. The manager is awesome she is understanding and kind and is here to help.
I love it here! It is my favorite place to Stay at! I have never lived anywhere else because people are nice!
Birch Plaza is a great place that is close to campus. The apartments dont feel too constricting, there is a salon as well as an exercise room, and, again, the location by the stadium is fantastic
Rexburg housing was great! I really enjoyed my time there as a student. Locations were good, prices are reasonable, really enjoyed the management and the overall environment was really amazing. Definitely recomend rexburg housing!
I live at Autumn Winds and love it. The manager, Madi, is wonderful. My only complaint is that the maintenance takes forever to get things fixed. And I know for a fact that Madi tries her hardest to get on to them. I wish they acted with a little more urgency. Besides that, though, Rexburg Housing has been great to us :)
Really good experience with management! Its not amazing, just because its not the newest complex around, but its defiantly comfortable and I love having my own space!
My brother and I stayed at Alpine Chalet. There are a lot of hidden fees... so when it says $999 for a semester, its actually a few hundred more. We had some serious maintenance issues that took months to be fixed. And the customer service for Rexburg Housing is horrendous. I basically got verbally harassed when I tried to talk to the main managers. I just hope this review will help shed light on the reality of living with Rexburg Housing.
A good community. All the apartments are very affordable. They all come with their perks as well. The staff is very friendly and work hard.
Fun community. Great location. Remodeled apartments.
Nice management, good apartment yard, very nice lounge, quality apartments, and nice neighbors. I have enjoyed my stay here.
This is now my 8th semester not to mention two summer sessions that Ive lived at Georgetown. I attribute that mainly to good roommates and a fantastic ward. However, we seem to luck out in terms of management. Ive been through three different managers over the course of my stay and each one has brought a new flair that made them awesome to work with. Not only do they figure out payment plans and concerns WITH you but, theyre super down to earth and human like the rest of us! Madi Wright has done a great job in addressing our concerns and making it fair and happy for all within her sphere of influence. Highly Recommend this affordable and enjoyable place!
Im so disappointed by Rexburg housing. They refuse to work with students and their financial situation. I love Brookside, but its not worth it to live here when they are so inconsistent of those who live here.It is especially disappointing as they are approved BYUI housing. Maybe after this year they will be more understanding but for now its been terrible to work with.
While no place is perfect I have had a good response to my requests and they have a good location
RH, just like any where else has both pros and cons. The biggest complaint I have are their fees. If you are thinking about coming to RH make sure you ask them about any and ALL fees they have. I have had, and so have my friends, some unpleasant surprises when we tried to switch things around with our contract payment or wanting to check out early at the end of the semester. Something that I have had good experience with is their maintenance. They are usually very quick to fix things. Recently I was in a situation where I needed help and the management was very understanding and helped me out.The roommates Ive lived with in RH in the past 3 yrs have been great.
Brita is awesome! Shes always helpful, and will go out of way to help
Basically everything is fine if you are not highly dependent on internet which most my classes needed things like Google Hangouts to work on group projects. They seem to not have much interest on fixing things in a timely matter but do eventually. If they had ethernet options I might of stayed another year or two since it isnt terrible like CrestWood
Managers are great to work with, the locations are convenient, and the units are clean! Awesome housing for an awesome price!
Rexburg Housing offers some good side bonuses for renting from them, like a pool and weight rooms, things like that. Their prices are usually fairly competitive.
Brookside village is one of the best apartments complexes that Ive come across while going to BYUI. The manager is one of the nicest ladies out there and she is always willing to help out where she can. :)
Please do yourself a favor and never live in any property owned by Rexburg Housing. Back in February a car crashed into the side of my apartment, and to this day has NOT been repaired at all. Its insane that this corporation is still able to be in business with the way they treat the tenants. Theyre okay with minor, in-house renovations/maintenance, but if something on this big of a scale happens, they will not do anything at all. They nickel and dime the residents and prey on the fact that we are students who are in need of housing. As well, they have increased prices for their contracts when absolutely no renovation, update, or maintenance has been performed. This is just a fraction of the plethora of problems with Birch/Rexburg Housing. Please do not live here at all.
