Their apartments are way expensive and not updated at all. I have friends who rent from the same company, and pay less with fully updated and modern appliances in a better area. Insulation isnt too good, it gets extremely cold in my room at night in the winter, and pretty hot in the summer. There are also ants EVERYWHERE.

I’ve lived here for about a year now and I really like it. It’s an older property so of course it’s not perfect but maintenance is really friendly and will follow up, despite what other reviews say. Gym just got remodeled and courts are now open. The biggest issue I had was people not picking up after their dogs but that’s not really a property issue.Overall I give this place an 8/10.

My fiancé and I are so excited to make Arium Trailwood our home this year! Upon move in, our carpets were replaced and the apartment was spotless. Our pup is going to love the bark parks and our cat is stoked about the screened porch. Logan is an absolute rockstar. She has been there for us at every turn and was one of the main reasons we picked Arium Trailwood!

I lived here for this past year. the biggest positives are the affordable price, proximity to campus & I-40, ease of leasing process, and general spaciousness. However the worst thing is the poor overall sealing of the apt, and personal persistence needed to fix issues. We consistently had a roach problem (small roaches living in the kitchen, not water bugs). We had bought a can of spray and bait traps for the whole apt at the beginning. through the year, we placed various work orders/called the office, and occasionally the exterminator would visit when we were on the list. It got soo bad (the kitchen floors were carpeted by baby roaches every night) itwas safer to clear out the cabinets and store everything in sealed containers, clean immediately before and after every use of the kitchen, and take out the trash & recycling every night. We found massive gaps behind and between cabinets where it was clear the roaches were living. Soon we found roaches in our fridge. after a week, we received a replacement fridge and some of the gaps were sealed. This almost completely fixed the roach issue, but it took almost a year...The windows didnt properly lock when we moved in (a fix was given roughly after a month after notification upon moving in). So *make sure your windows actually lock* and cant be pushed up from the outside.Walls are paper thin, and upstairs noise sounds are amplifiedAll said, the office is quick the pick up the phone however an actual solution to the problem may take some persistence.

GOOD- First, I want to say that I LOVE Nancy, the assistant property manager. She memorized my name AND my apartment by our second time meeting and never forgot it and was always helpful- The location is pretty good. 30 second drive from Food Lion and 60 second drive from I-40.- Its also pretty quiet here. Havent heard of any robberies. Its like this place is invisible.BADTo summarize, we had a fire in our apartment and the Property Manager, McKenzie, waited THE DAY AFTER our lease was up to start renovation, leaving us without an apartment for almost FOUR MONTHS.I took all the right steps to putting in a claim for our stuff. Once I got to the final step of the claim, my insurance company told me to call my Property Manager because they were waiting on her. When I emailed her, and she told ME to call the insurance company -- shifting the blame on me. I emailed her each week and each time she kept shifting the blame on me and I kept calling the insurance company to make sure that I wasnt in the wrong. They kept telling me that they just needed to hear from McKenzie to close the claim. This was at the beginning of COVID, so I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and started to think that she genuinely just cant find anybody. However, after asking around with neighbors and friends, they have all gotten certain housework done without any delay. Someone even mentioned A WHOLE HOUSE being built in that timeframe (note: only our kitchen was damaged). After a while, I stopped emailing her because it was obvious that she wasnt even trying to fix our apartment.Once I moved into my new apartment I went back to get a mail I mightve missed, and I saw that THEY STARTED WORKING ON OUR APARTMENT THE DAY AFTER OUR LEASE ENDED.Everything McKenzie did was intentional. She just didnt want to put the effort in moving us back in so that she could have the apartment nicely renovated for whoever else lived in there in the coming weeks. One of my roommates could barley afford the rest of the rent because they lived over an hour away and had to quit work and try to find somewhere else to work (which was hard due to COVID). When I asked to Property Manager if they could help in some way, she showed no sympathy.CONCLUSIONHonestly, I wouldve given this place 4 or 5 starts had this had not happened, but the new Property Manager, McKenzie, did not care about us at all.If you dont get a fire or have any other maintenance problems, Im sure youll like it.And again, Nancy is really nice, she had no control over our situation.

I have been living in ARIUM Trailwood for almost 3 months now and if the review below is too long, then all you need to do is to take a look at the pictures to see the living conditions and couple them with the fact that both the maintenance and the pest control are non-existent.PROS:Pet-Friendly: The location accepts dogs with no size restrictions, has a dog park and also dog waste bag dispensers all over the property, which are being refilled.Friendly neighbors: Weve had zero issues with neighbors, everyones been very friendly and respectful.Location: The property is at great location, very close to Food Lion, to I-40, and also to NC State campus, but still a little secluded from the noise and traffic.CONS:Apartments are falling apart: When we moved in, there were a lot of issues with the apartment (mold, front door not closing, no smoke detector, balcony covered with hornet nests), but all that seemed to be easily fixed by maintenance (which, does not exist, see next point). A week after moving in our ceiling started leaking water from outside, hard. It wasnt small drops either, we had 2 ~7 gallon buckets we had to empty every 2 hours during rain. Which means we took turns waking up at night every 2 hours when raining. And it took them 3 weeks to finally get around to filling the hole in the roof. This was after our downstairs neighbor had also started contacting the office, furious that his ceiling was leaking too. Zero care given by the management for 3 weeks. While the leak is gone, the ceiling is still covered in mold and crumbling down, while we were told they will fix it next week 2.5 months ago and no work orders or conversations help. We were told by the the maintenance, that this is common for these homes - apparently many of them leak like this - beware. No maintenance - Everything you read in review responses about them having some kind of maintenance guarantee is a lie. We have had work orders since moving in 3 months ago and havent gotten any closer to solving them - weve simply accepted the fact we live in mold and hope to not get any respiratory diseases from this, especially at these times.Fire safety is non-existent: When we were moving in, we hoped they were safe about fires after some apartments in this complex have already burned down. Sadly, we were wrong, we moved into an apartment without a working smoke detector (who knows how long it has been broken for before) despite our lease stating the landlord checks/repairs smoke detectors before handing apartment over. While we finally got it fixed, it too took several trips to the managements office, work orders, and emails. I am afraid to know how many other neighbors do not have smoke detectors in their homes.Pest Control is a lie: We pay a monthly charge for pest control, which I have never seen done. Requesting it verbally at the managements office, or through a work order doesnt help either. Apparently just a way for them to earn some extra monthly money.Amenities: Cant comment, as everything is shut down right now. While I greatly respect the managements awareness of the situation and understand the pools closed and that the gym is under construction, Im not sure why outdoor tennis courts are also locked down.In conclusion, at this price range I recommend you find an alternative apartment complex, where leaking roofs are not considered to be normal and things get taken care of.Edit: In reply to the response. We were told by the management that they offer no such thing as maintenance response guarantee and we have yet to see the pest control services, despite requests.

This ARIUM has kept its pools closed since last August, supposively Covid is the reason the pools are closed this year, but that doesn’t make any sense considering they’ve let them turn green three times this summer. And it’s not company wide policy, the ARIUM lake Johnson up the road has its pool open with restrictions. They still have a chain and lock around ours. And of course you still pay full rent, even without ANY amenities. And there are no amenities, you pay to live here with the 529 roaches I’ve killed this summer. Ridiculous. Go elsewhere. You can pay $100-$200 more per month and live in a nice place.

Very spacious and cute apartments. Love being close to lake Johnson. Nancy at the leasing office is very nice and helpful. The downsides are that they are a little older so I do run into some issues with the pipes and older windows. Newer apartments do cost more, and I find the rent very reasonable here. But with that too, they are constantly trying to renovate the premises, like new roofs recently, and also they keep it generally well kept.

This is just about my search process, as they ended up not having the apartment I needed. I did see a few of the apartments and was very impressed. The property is beautiful and the interiors are very nice, without all the unnecessary fancy touches that really hike up the rent price. The floorplans are open and make it feel much roomier than most places. I actually seriously considered one of their 1-bedrooms, even though Ive refused to rent anything less than a 2-bedroom for over ten years now. Nancy was incredibly sweet and friendly and I really wanted to rent from her just because of that. I wouldve definitely gotten an apartment here if theyd had one available that was anywhere close to what Im looking for.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS APPARTMENT COMPLEX OR ANY OTHER PROPERTY OWNED BY THIS COMPANY.I tried to like these people. The apartments old are decent, the office staff is generally helpful, but thats about it....I lived in this complex for almost three years. Despite the ridiculously high rent rates I paid during that time, they still found it appropriate to charge me an excessively high move out fee that I feel was unlawful. The NC renters law allows the landlord to charge for damage over normal wear and tear, but they have done their best to stretch that definition to fit their greed. The office staff who was helpful at the time I lived their can simply say: Thats what the corporate office decided. No recourse, no real conversation about the charges, just well send you to collections if you dont pay in a week. Great.I let the friendly demeanor of their staff fool me, dont let if fool you. Dont rent from this place unless you want to pay exorbitantly high costs and have your credit hit when you choose to stop doing business with them. What a terrible soulless excuse for a company.Edit:Because I dont see any way to reply to Amanda directly, I will edit my review. The fact that she says the entire carpet needed to be replaced due to pet damage is laughable. Primarily, because I dont own any pets! The damage to the carpet that she speaks of was in the 2 bed rooms, not the entire apartment. The damage was the result of living there for three years. Sure, the carpet showed wear, but thats what happens with carpet. Nothing close to excessive damage given the time spent living there, but they saw it fit to charge for an entire replacement. The friendly note from Amanda epitomizes the way this company operates.

EDIT 01/06/2020: Management has rectified the water/maintenance situation by providing a sufficient credit to our rental account to make up for the previous discrepancy.——————————————Very clean, aesthetically pleasing place to live. My roommate and I have lived in a 2-bed/2.5-bath townhome here since June. The rent is reasonable for the area, although it went up by more than $100 between the time we toured and the time we applied (within 2 days) due to the available units being switched—on the same exact floor plan. But whatever; maybe thats just the business. We signed on to pay what was asked anyway. This place gave me a couple more hoops to jump through than my last residence in order to bring in an Emotional Support Animal (which was recommended by my therapist). But overall, they were fairly understanding and extremely accommodating in regard to some unusual circumstances with my particular case.My only real complaints are the apparent lack of attention to detail by (some of) the maintenance staff in response to work orders/requests, and the additional financial strain that this carelessness has cost US, the residents. When we moved in, only one of the three keys we were given worked. (One for the mailbox; two for the house.) Fortunately the one that worked was a house key, so we were able to move in that day. But it was a moderate inconvenience when they couldve tested the keys before move-in. And we were also supposed to have gotten two mailbox keys. So we didnt have four functional keys for at least a few days.Next, several of the locks on our windows—including the front window, accessible from the outside of the apartment—were not functional, which was slightly concerning… This was fixed early the next morning, and it was on the weekend, so Ive got to give them credit for their responsiveness on that security issue. The washing machine was a different story. It took about two weeks, two work orders, and several verbal inquiries for us to be able to do laundry at home. The seals on the two outside doors seem run-down. We have not put in a work order for that yet, so this complaint falls partially back on us, but it has been that way since move-in, so it shouldve been fixed beforehand. I have found a single slug on the floor in the kitchen (by the back door), twice. Bugs and critters have not been an issue other than just those two, which I assume might have gotten in through a gap in the seal of the back door. Not a huge concern, as we havent seen any other creepy-crawlies, and the grounds are nicely kept. Thankfully, there are NO roaches nor ants! The biggest nuisance for us by far, however, is the fact that it took OVER TWO MONTHS for one toilet to get fixed. There was a period of about 12 days where that toilet was completely unusable, as it would not flush at all. It seemed to continuously run water from June 8 (maintenance request submitted June 10) until it was finally fixed on August 13 after three separate work orders, each claiming to have fixed the issue. After that, the toilet in the other bedroom started having a similar problem. Fortunately it took only a little over two weeks (and two maintenance requests) to resolve that one.So, why was the toilet fiasco such a pain? In addition to having some non-functional toilets, here are the metered totals of our water bills (water and waste water usage only; NOT including stormwater/recycling/other fees) from month to month:- June: $101.82- July: $154.53- August: $75.69 (the month the first toilet was fixed)- September: $41.57- October: $41.57- November: $34.33- December: $41.57So, as you can see, the constant running of water through the toilets cost us HUNDREDS of dollars.Anyway, the floor plan is spacious, and I suppose everything works now, in terms of plumbing and appliances. Not super impressed with maintenance/management, though.

My husband and I moved here in June 2019 because we were expecting our first baby and needed a bigger apartment. The staff are generally friendly and I do like the community since it is quiet and peaceful. HOWEVER, they have not taken very good care in maintenance for their apartments. When I moved in nobody had cleaned the apartment or looked it over. We had a broken fridge handle, no grill in the oven, when they removed the washer and dryer they left the hole in the wall open and there were tons of bugs, dust everywhere, Etc. It was bad, and when we asked about it they quickly just tried covering it up and took forever to fix the problems. Out of the 20 weeks I have lived here I have had to submit over 21 maintenance requests and they aren’t small things! We have had cockroaches in our apartment, windows not sealing in my nursery so I have had to have a temp alarm in her room and move my baby to sleep with me in the middle of the night (and super high energy bills because of it), the kitchen faucet had a hole, the caulking around the house was beaten down and bugs were getting through, etc etc. They also have not honored their maintenance request promise in crediting rent if they take too long. I dont usually complain but while having a baby I really care about the home being a safe and clean place and this is just disappointing. ARIUM really needs to take better care of their apartments they are renting out in this complex because a baby needs a insulated room to sleep in and we need peace of mind.

My roommate and I lived here for two years and enjoyed it very much for the first year. The pros, a fairly quiet, nice community. Management and maintenance are very quick and responsive and our apartment was nice for the price. The cons, our apartment rent jumped up by $200 when we first renewed our lease. (Apparently we got a really good deal like a special rate at the beginning, which we did not know.)Also, something else worth reading even if you are already a resident. Even though management and maintenance are quick to respond, they are not always competent. I realize this is a rude comment so I will explain.During our second year of living here, my roommate put in a service request for maintenance to come and fix something in our bathroom. The maintenance staff came by the next day, and it just happened to be while I (a female) was home alone taking a shower (we just have one bathroom and I was not aware of my roommates service request). He came into the apartment and then into the bathroom. Yes, he came into the bathroom while I was getting out of the shower. To add details: the bathroom light was on, the fan was on, and my music was on--loud enough to be audible in the living room (which he walked through to get to the bathroom).I dont typically relay exact conversations, but I will for this one to show that not only was my privacy violated, but I had to defend myself to the female property manager. I reported the incident to management. She said the maintenance man had already come and spoken to her and was deeply apologetic. She did not, however, offer to address the issue with the maintenance staff or ask me (the resident) what had happened.I insisted that he was either completely oblivious (almost impossible) or it was intentional. She said that unfortunately they enter apartments often while music is playing or something is on, but no one is actually home so it wasnt intentional.I thought, first, its a bathroom and the door was closed (not to mention the lights, fan, etc.) Second, if you hear noise, why wouldnt you assume someone is home and proceed with caution instead of being hasty and careless? She said the maintenance staff told her he had knocked on the bathroom door. If he did, I didnt hear him.Ending the conversation, I had to convince her to remind the staff to be more careful. She also suggesting we deadbolt our door if its a bad time for maintenance to come. No, no. In the future, my roommate and I were sure to request a specific time if maintenance needed to come--and made sure we were not home. Not sure why an employee that careless *assuming it wasnt intentional* is still allowed to go into peoples homes.

Ive lived here for over 14 years now. 13 years in one apartment that they had me move out of so they could renovate it and over a year in my new apartment. Ive now lived at both ends of the complex.Ive never had any real problems with neighbors being too loud or other such problems. Back when I moved in, the place was called Dominion Walnut Ridge then new management took over. The quality of staff did not lower with that change of management. The staff is friendly and helpful. Minor problems are taken care of within a few days. Major maintenance problems are taken care of quickly. I once had a toilet backing up around 8 PM Sunday night and maintenance was out by 9 PM and fixing the problem. That kind of service you do not get everywhere.Break ins and other crime is extremely low here and staff always sends out notices via email whenever such things occur, explaining as much as they are allowed as to what happened and where and what to keep an eye out for.Its just far enough away from the college that we dont get the party animals here but the more serious students. It is a mixed community of families, college crowd, middle-age and older folks. Shopping very close by and freeway access is a breeze, even if the freeway isnt. :-)Yes, it is an older apartment complex, probably built back in the 1980s or so, and minor maintenance problems show up from time to time because of their age. The staff gets on those problems as quick as possible, so Ive never had a real issue with this. The heat works and the air conditioning works as well. Water pressure is a bit lower than I would like but that is not their fault but the city water supply and that would be my only real complaint about the place.Ive lived in over a dozen apartments in 5 states and this is one of the best places Ive ever lived in. I have no plans to move out any time soon.

Woodland Courts best aspects are its price and location. I have had continual issues with my apartment ranging from the window not locking, door in my apartment not latching, etc. The biggest issue though is the water spots on the ceiling. I have had water spots on my ceiling since a few months after I moved in. They have been Fixed about 8 times now to no avail. My ceiling is routinely wet when it rains and after every time the roof is patched water spots appear in new places. Undoubtedly the insulation is shot as a result of the continual moisture above the bedroom as it is always hot or cold depending on what the weather is like outside. I would not be surprised if there was mold in the attic/ceiling area.Overall I would NOT suggest living here, the price seems attractive but you get what you pay for.TLDR; Please keep looking elsewhere to a location that actually maintains their residences.

The staff was unable to split the rent bill as well, so my roommate and I relied on a third party to pay rent. Staff seemed irritated when coming to them with a problem, and I feel they were extremely unhelpful. Put in a work order 2.5 months ago for a broken washing machine and they still have not fixed it. Staff is 100% the reason my roommate and I are not living here again. Recommend absolutely no person live here unless you have no other option.

First off, Arium is new management of Bell Apartments Woodland Court. Residents were not informed until the new sign went up.Maintenance had gone downhill since before Arium took over.Only 1 of the 2 pools were open all summer and even that one was closed most of the time. They were never cleaned properly. We were told there was a chemical imbalance that made it unsafe to swim in but it was green as any pond Ive seen.Secondly, Arium implemented online only payments, no more in person checks. I set up my acct to pay online, my payment didnt go through, I got a late notice and have been told I will be evicted if I dont pay with a certified bank check by Wednesday which is in 6 days.

Pros: close to grocery stores and the highway. pool, basketball court and tennis court. Affordable laundry facility.Cons: 1) Serious bug infestation. Their pest control methods arent very effective. 2) My apartment was very dirty upon moving in. The dishwasher had black stuff in it; the window screens were very dirty with dead bugs, spider webs and animal droppings; the shower was dirty. I had to do a lot of cleaning upon moving in and now I do DIY pest control.

Floor plan was spacious and open (2 bed/2bath)Office staff was courteous........And thats it.I lived here for 2 years and had several grievances with this place. Most of which would never be solved being owned by a large company, Bell properties(?). I will try to be as chronological as possible.MAINTANECE: So these guys were GREAT with big/emergency issues. TERRIBLE with little things. We had our a/c freeze due to lack of freon and the water heater stopped working. Separate times, but both occurred on the weekend. After we called, the maintanence guy that was on call lived off the property but showed up within an hour and was able to at least give us a temporary solution until it could be fully fixed during the work week.-Upon moving in, several of our screens were either bent, had holes, or were missing. Never got a screen for one window in our second unit and all they did was use weather stripping to seal the gaps between the bent screens and the window seal.-They installed a new washer and dryer because the original washers drum had come disconnected some how and would move the entire washer and make a LOUD knocking when used. These were brand new appliances, but the dryer took 2 full cycles to fully dry the clothes. So, obviously, we thought the dryer hose was clogged and figured since they didnt clean it out when they replaced it, they should fix it. Well, to test it, they soaked 3 towels and dried them in our dryer. Because 3 towels constitutes a full load...........So the towels came out dry. Maintanence left us a note saying what they did and dryer hose clear. These are not commercial dryers. You may need to lighten your load. Complete Richards, I know. We suffered the next 6 months drying every load twice until I because fed up. I checked on our deck where the dryer hose vented, and could clearly see that 2/3 of the hose was aimed into the wall cavity instead of outside. 3 min and it was fixed. Pure laziness on the maintatence team. There were several other small instances but I believe Ive exhausted this topic.USED THE CRAPPIEST/CHEAPEST PAINTERSThese apartments were built in the 80s and had floral wallpaper (Ill explain how I know this). All the painters did was go over everything with thick coat of paint. Dried paint drips everywhere, painted over the door hinges, wall outlets, and some of the door knobs and handles had paint splatter on them. The paint chipped everywhere. Especially the pantry shelves. Opened up a bathroom door and the paint chipped off the wall where the painted with the door closed. And how I know that floral wall paper was original to the apt was because you could see it behind the toilet. Meaning the toilets were original too. But Ill cover that in a different segment.ESSENTIALLY KICKED US OUT OF OUR ORIGNAL UNITLike I said, we lived there for 2 years. We were happy in our first unit. But when it came time to renew our lease, they only gave us a 7 and 5 month option. Which as everyone knows, the shorter the lease, the higher the price. We wanted to stay another year and talked to the office about it. They said, and I quote the prices are from corporate and theres nothing we can do. They did give us the option to move into an upgraded unit for 12 months. So instead of paying the extra $150-$200 a month, we bit the bullet and moved around the corner. In hindsight, we should have went on the apt hunt again instead of giving Bell more of our money.UPGRADED UNITSo the into we were transplanted to, was upgraded. Which constituted, brushed nickel door knobs/handles, wood laminate flooring in the kitchen, different laminate for counters and black appliances (as opposed to the white in our original unit). But the appliances were OLDER MODELS than our original unit. So when an apartment complex says upgraded, only a couple (and insiginificant) things may be different from a non upgraded unit.HIGH PRICES FOR WHAT YOU GETNo ceiling lights in living room or bedrooms. Paid $1050 for the original 2 BR. Paid $1160 for upgraded 2BR.
