Would give 10 stars if I could. Lived here for 2 years in two different units, and it’s been perfect. The management is incredibly friendly and helpful, and any maintenance orders are taken care of fast and well. Noise insulation is great, haven’t heard a thing from upstair neighbors during my stay. And some units have THE BEST VIEW!tldr: It’s awesome
Three years living in The Penn on Highland has gone by quickly. Many good things to say, good location, safe, easy access to public transportation, on site parking garage, walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. Well kept common areas, clean and up to date decor, pleasant office personnel, nice coffee area, and special treats. Anytime I needed maintenance it was a quick phone call and even quicker response. Only moved due to job change to another state. Miss you PA.
I really enjoyed living here. The location is perfect with so many grocery stores and restaurants around. The price was a bit too much for me, but the service by the staff, a nice gym, events and all other amenities make it totally worth the extra money. The staff is very responsive and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place!
Great location, top notch amenities, great layouts, won’t find a better place to call home!
Our 1BR unit was awesome and the building was very well maintained. The entire staff at Walnut on Highland exceeded my expectations. Very professional and responsive to all my questions.
Best place I have ever lived in. I love how convenient it is to walk to Target, Whole Foods, Giant Eagle and Trader Joe. There is also easy access to a number of bus lines.Love the amenity spaces and 24x7 gym.
Having lived in two Walnut Capital properties now, I can honestly say they offer the best service and renting experience. We almost never have issues and when we do its something minor and they fix it immediately and in a way that it doesnt occur again. It might be a bit on the pricey end but you really get an incredible amount of value for what you pay.
Walnut Capital is probably the best management company I’ve ever lived with! Walnut on Highland is a beautiful building with all the modern amenities you need while retaining an old historic charm on the outside. It is a great place to live if you want to be right in the middle of everything.
I love living here! The location is great-walking distance to Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe and Giant Eagle. The people are amazing-we have on average three community events every month. The facilities are awesome too! Highly recommend young professionals who are looking for a lovely community!
Me and my boyfriend have been living in Walnut on Highland for almost a year now, and we just renewed our lease. I think the best asset is the location, there are tons of restaurants and several grocery/department stores close by. It is also close to many different bus routes plus Walnut Capital has their own shuttle, which is great for people like us who dont have a car. The building and the apartments are beautiful, and the amenities are great. Furthermore, the staff is excellent, questions and maintenance requests are always answered and fulfilled promptly. We couldnt be happier!
I moved in to Walnut on Highland right when it opened before construction was even completed. I stayed for 6 years which is in my life (no joke) is the longest I’ve ever lived in one place. The apartment layout was fantastic and the area around the apartment exploded with restaurants and shops to the point I rarely needed a car. City living at its finest with on site parking garage and an amazing staff. It was great seeing Ed and Archie and the security staff daily and they all responded quickly to needs. Only moved for work purposes otherwise would have stayed forever.
Ive been living here for almost 3 years now and just renewed my lease for a fourth. Besides the apartments themselves being beautiful, renovated, and spacious, the building offers many amenities and the staff is phenomenal. Maintenance requests are resolved within 24 hours most times and they go above and beyond what you ask (for example, last time my shower drain wasnt working they also upgraded my shower head). The staff really goes out of their way to know the residents to create a great community atmosphere that really makes it feel like home.
I moved here in April. Im so happy to call Walnut on Highland my home. The staff and the residents are so friendly and helpful. The staff work hard to put on fun events where the residents can get to know each other and enjoy some downtime.
The staff is super friendly and always organizing great community events. This is probably the only apartment Ive ever lived in where I actually became good friends with many of the neighbors. The units are nice. Be sure to factor in the heating costs when youre comparing rent prices. If this place is in budget for you, youll have a great time here.
Thus far, the absolute best and most awesome apartment complex Ive ever lived in. They are friendly, kind, responsive, helpful, and just good people.Truly sad to leave.
Such a bright and happy building! The outside of the building is so unique with its beautiful features. Inside the amenities are clean and cozy. Youll never get bored at Walnut on Highland with its awesome amenities like the fitness center, party room, game room, conference rooms, and more. When you do choose to leave, youll be in walking distance from restaurants, grocery stores, and entertainment. Its a place to live if you love comfortable and enjoyable apartment living.
Ive lived here about 6 months and have loved it so far. The building is great and maintenance requests are always fulfilled promptly; the premises are kept clean and well-decorated; the staff are friendly and make a great effort of putting on events for residents. I love the location and its so close to so many great places - my favorite are noodlehead, casbah, and muddy waters!
Ive lived here for two years, and have had an excellent experience. The building staff is top-notch, from regularly organizing fun events to quickly addressing any maintenance needs. Also, you cant beat the location. Highly recommend!
A luxurious development in the middle of East Liberty. While some may have been displaced to build this place, this development could easily be transported to Los Angeles, New York, Chicago any high-end city. It is a really beautiful development and well done.
We moved into the Penn next to the Highland Building last June. From the very beginning, we loved our experience. Our loft-style apartment was finished with all the conveniences we have grown accustomed to over the past few years of renting apartments in the South. As Texas natives, we were used to wide space, natural light, washer/dryer, parking lots, updated fixtures and excellent workout facilities. The Penn delivered on all of these amenities with an excellent staff to assist with an issues. Best of all, the location is within walking distance to the cities best restaurants and grocery stores.
Ive been living here for the last year and have had a really good experience. Every interaction Ive had with the management staff has been extremely streamlined and professional. Location of the building and amenities provided are by far better than any other place Ive lived in before and any other building Ive looked into in Pittsburgh.
From looking at apartments before moving in, to now living here for nearly 3 years, the entire staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Amenities including parking, gym, entertainment space, mail room are everything you would need. Location is unbeatable. Apartment itself is beautiful with an unbeatable view of Pittsburgh.
The Penn building is brand new, everything is high end, the location is great (you can walk everywhere). The management is great, they are all so nice and attentive. Parking is covered, you can pay rent online, there are lots of amenities including a dog park area and a free coffee machine.
My family moved here since summer 2017 and we definitely love it!! The common areas (office, lounge etc.) are always clean and bright. Gym is 24/7. Staffs here are all super supportive and always being nice to everyone. 71B bus stop right at the door and CMU shuttle stop just 2mins walk away.Best luxury apartment in Pittsburgh with a reasonable price.
Walnut on Highland is great! I have lived between two apartments since 2013 - when our lease renewal was delivered, we knew we would resign our lease due to the great amenities, perfect location and the feeling of home! I highly recommend this building!
Absolutely amazin Housing complex! Hope they except our application for a unit there!
Really nice place and a convenient location. I dont like the smell of the lobby. Otherwise a great place. Near everything.
Beautiful apartment building near great restaurants. Multi-level security to enter the building.
Apartments are modern and great. The office is great and easy to work with. Washer/dryer on the floors is convenient.
So happy that I found this place when I moved to Pittsburgh 9 months ago! Staff and residents all very friendly.
I have lived in Walnut on Highland since it opened and love my apt, my view, the location, the management at WC. The only thing that would make me love it more would be if the shuttle went further into Oakland as there are a lot of people in the building who are in medical/dental school and would benefit from the additional shuttle stops. I also love the monthly mixers that the building has!
One of the best apartment buildings in the entire city.
Very helpful & friendly staff! The building is in great walking distance to restaurants and great grocery stores.
Beautiful building with friendly staff. Great place to live.
Nice apartments, havent lived here, just visited.
Stay clear of Walnut Capital and Walnut On Highland. There are plenty of apartment buildings in Pittsburgh not run by this nouveau riche slumlord of a management firm. If you do not want to deal with a company that builds cheap paper thin walled buildings that fall apart as soon as they are completed, look elsewhere. If you do not want to deal with a company that takes no responsibility for your apartment flooding no less than five times requiring drywall replacement, look elsewhere. If you enjoy being nickel and dimed while basic elements of cleanliness and function of the building are overlooked that Walnut Capital and Gregg Perelman, the gentleman who runs it, have the place for you. My apartment had such a cheap HVAC unit that it couldnt heat the whole thing.
Up n Coming Community...Keep an eye out for Development in the future to buy up properties and build-a-new co sharing spaces. Mark my words.
